Chapter 1: The first day of an epic odyssey
Author's Note
You know what, if i had to make a new story, i should make a new character too: his name? Sunlight Blaze, A hothead unicorn who don't fear anything but with a heart of gold. Sunrise Freezer was a bad idea and his reputation can't be saved anymore. Sunlight blaze his actually another of my OC's i made for fun.
Chapter 1: The first day of an epic odyssey
This is by a beautiful morning, that our hero opened his eyes and jumped off of his bed. He was excited because today, he decided to leave the home and fulfill his dream of becoming a hero. He looked himself in the mirror. He was of a greyish white, with a tricolor mane (yellow, orange and red). He was not buffed, he didn't need muscles, because he had his brain. he had red iris and had the defaults to be hot-headed and short fused. (But only when someone insulted him or did bad things). He had for qualities a great intelligence, a surprising politeness, a generous heart, his bravery, smootheness and a great willpower.
“Sunlight!! Said a voice coming from the first floor. The breakfast is served!!”
“I am coming, mom!!!” he said.
He used the teleportation to get to the lunchroom, surprising and scaring his mother.
“Oh dear!! she said. I will never get used to your magic tricks! Why you don’t take the stairs like a civilized unicorn? Me and your father are of the elite of Canterlot and so are you!! You must not use your magic to show off like a peacock!!”
“I know, mom, said the young stallion. A member of the high society of Canterlot must be more classy.”
“Eat your breakfast before it get cold, said his mother.”
After finishing his meal, the unicorn decided that today will be the day. So he reunited his parents (his father also came to take his breakfast) around the little table.
“Mom, Dad, he said. I have something to tell to you. Today, i will leave the home to fulfill my dream!”
His parents didn't have a reaction, they were quiet. After a few minutes, his mother smiled of joy and his father said:
“Your mother and me were asking when you will take that decision!! We are 100% behind you, my son.”
“I am so happy and so worried at the same time, to see you start your adult life, said his mother. But we know you are ready to face the world. You have my intelligence, beauty and charm! you don't need anything else”
“And you have the interest for the mechanic and the crafting talent of your dad! with that, nothing will get in your way!” said his father.
“Are you planning to find a work? Me and your father have friends who can find you a place” said his mother
“I don’t want to work for the rest of my life, that would be boring, he said. No, i want adventures!! I mean, i have a special gift for magic, like the princess Twilight Sparkle when she was an unicorn like me, or like Starlight Glimmer, the Headmare of the school of friendship. I want to follow their example and use my powers to be a hero, to protect!”
His father walked out of the kitchen and came back 10 minutes later with a box.
“We were kidding, son, he said. We know you admire princess Twilight and her friends and this is why me and your mother want to give you this. We asked one of her friends, Rarity, which who we have good relations, to make for you this.”
Sunlight opened the box and discovered his gift: A beautiful white cape and a bright orange body costume. But the most impressive was that his cutie mark, a red sun under a yellow and orange fireball, was embroidered on the back of the cape. Sunlight put on the two pieces and hugged his parents.
“Thank you for what you did for me, he said. I will make sure to thank Rarity for that masterpiece if i see her.”
The unicorn returned in his chamber and only decided to bring with him a rare copy of the Friendship Journal signed by Twilight herself, (that was what his parents told him when they gave him this book), a lucky charm given by his mother (a shard of crystal from the Tree of Harmony) and some tools. Then he left his room for the last time and said goodbye to his parents. After a long emotional moment, he left the house and ran outside of Canterlot.
“Equestria, be ready!! He said. Today, a new hero is here to protect you!!”
“Yeah, yeah, said a guard behind him. Don’t have too much confidence, kid, we all said that before we became guards”
The other guard, a female, say to him:
“You look great in these clothes, she said. Who made it?”
“Rarity, answered Sunlight. This is a gift from her!”
“She definitively are the best for making splendid outfits, said the female guard. I hope you realize how lucky you that she made that outfit for you.”
“Hey, i am from the elite of Canterlot, you know, I am like you can say, friend with Rarity!” he said.
“So this is no surprise she gave you this clothes she made.” said the male guard.
“Have a great day!!” said the female guard.
The young stallion walked a few miles before stopping suddenly.
“Hum, first, i have to give a visit to Rarity, he thought. She actually live in Ponyville. Do i take the train, or...Wait, i don’t need a train, i can use teleportation to make it here!”
He focused his concentration and disappeared, but the teleportation spell dropped him to Sweet Apple Acres, more precisely in one of the barn, used to stock farming tools. He landed luckily on his hooves and lighted up his horn to illuminate the place.
“The spell was supposed to bring me near of Rarity’s boutique in Ponyville, so why am i in a barn in Sweet Apple Acres?” he thought .
He decided to give a second try to the spell but was interrupted by a pony opening the door. Sunlight panicked and tried to run away, but he stepped on one of the tools and fell on the ground.
“What the hay?! said the pony, who was a female by her voice. What are you doing in my barn?! Are you a thief? You work for Flim and Flam, uh?Do you came here to sabotage our tools?! Answer before i call the royals guards!!”
Sunlight Blaze got up and removed the dust from his head and his clothes, then he walked in her direction. When he saw the mare, he immediately recognized her. She was Applejack, the bearer of the Element of Honesty.
“I can explain, he said, calmly. I used a teleportation spell who was first supposed to bring me near to Rarity’s boutique, in Ponyville. But i think the spell must have failed and brought me in your barn, i am sorry, Miss Applejack!!”
Applejack examinated his clothes and his face.
“Miss Applejack? she said, surprised. Don't be so formal. Now that i look at you, you don’t look like a thief. You even have a distinguished look, like Rarity. Well, Speaking of her, she always embroider her name on every creations she make.”
Sunlight Blaze found Rarity’s name on the cape and the orange suit, then showed it to Applejack.
“Yes, i recognize her style and this is effectively her work, she said. I am sorry if i mistake you for a thief”
“I don’t blame you for thinking that, he said. Beside, I know you and Rarity are friends, so do you have an idea of where she could be?”
“Well, you are lucky, said Applejack. She told me that she would be in her boutique/house for the day”
She saw in the bag that Sunlight was wearing the Journal of Friendship, gift for all the students who studied at the School of Friendship.
“Hum, you have been at the School of Friendship? Asked Applejack. Now, I recognize you!! You were one of my best students in the Honesty class! What was your name? Sun...Sun... something”
“Sunlight, he said, Sunlight Blaze. I was one, not to say the best, of your student in the mechanic and honesty classes”
“Oh, yeah, i remember you. I know your father too, he helped to repair the farm tools and the barn!” she said.
She hugged him.
“Hum, while you are here, she said. Can you help me to repair the barrier from the pigs paddock?”
“Hum, why not? Answered the unicorn. I always love helping somepony else!!!”
“I like your spirit, said Applejack. You can be for the high society, but you are not snobbish like them.”
They worked together to repair the paddock. they had a fun time discussing about apples and bakeries. Sunlight was hiding it, but he was very excited to have the chance to pass time with one of the Mane 6 members. When the reparations were over, Applejack rewarded him by offering lot of pastries she made earlier.
“You didn't needed to reward me, Miss Applejack, he said. But coming from you, i'll accept these delicious gifts with joy”
“Miss? Not so many ponies call me miss, she said. Let me accompany you to Ponyville, i have a delivery to make here!”
Him and Applejack left the orchard and walked in direction of Ponyville.

Chapter 3: New unexpected friends for Sunlight
Sunlight opened his eyes and looked around him to find where he was. A nurse suddenly entered the room and noticed that he was awake.
“Do you feel better, Mr. Sunlight? Said the nurse. You have been sleeping for a while!”
“I feel better, he answered. But can you told me what happened after falling unconscious?”
“I don’t know everything, she answered. But i remember that Twilight and her friends brought you at the hospital, you were having a rare case of hypothermia. They stayed at your side for a long time, they were worried for you. But with the help of Spike fire breath, we have been able to warm your body.”
“They stayed at my side? Asked Sunlight, still a little bit tired. For me? why? And how did they learned about my ability to absorb heat?”
“Everyone is important, said Starlight, suddenly entering the room. You are our friend and friends don’t let down a friend in need. And for what is your ability to absorb heat, we only discovered it because Spike sneezed on you.”
Sunlight got off of his bed and landed on his hooves.
“I am sorry if i ruined your friendship reunion with princess Twilight, said the male unicorn. I feel terribly guilty about it.”
“Not totally, she said. Sure, we had to left the party, but at least we were together while staying with you in the hospital”
Sunlight Blaze looked at the nurse, named Red Heart.
“You told me i was suffering from hypothermia, how did that happen? He asked. It was not very cold outside”
“I think i know, said Starlight. You can absorb heat, you said, right? And What cause hypothermia is a dangerously drop of the body temperature.”
“I put a lot of my energy in my Blazing Supernova, said the stallion. After that, i felt kinda tired. I was starting to shiver. Like if each second fire was coming out of my body, a part of my vital energy also got out of me....”
“That would make sense, said the Headmare. The more fire magic you use, the more heat you loose. in your case, heat is what make you live. Also, when Spike accidentally sneezed on you, we saw your body absorbing the fire and you getting better. This is an ability I have never seen in a pony, or any other creatures”
“So, if you are right, creating fire magic from my body drain my life energy, which lower my body temperature and cause hypothermia, then death. said the unicorn. But what if i absorb a great quantity of fire?”
“Hum, she answered. Technically, that could significantly boost your physical and magical abilities, or the power of any spell you use. Like a temporary superpower mode! I also suppose That could also accelerate your healing factor, making your wounds heal faster.”
“That is cool, he said. But i look at the clock and the classes will begin shortly! Thank you, nurse Red Heart!!”
“All the pleasure was for me!!” she said.
Starlight teleported herself and Sunlight in the school, then Sunlight grabbed his school schedule, a bag with the scholar stuff he needed and ran in direction of Fluttershy’s Kindness class. He entered just before the bell rang and took place in a free chair. Fluttershy saw him and smile, happy he was in perfect shape. In the class were also Smolder and Ocellus, who saluted him with a hand move.
“Welcome to another kindness class everyone, she said. Today, we will be learning how to feed wild animals and how to pet them!”
The students get excited by the activity and everyone began to put down their stuff. Smolder walked in the direction of Sunlight to talk with him.
“Hi, Sunlight, she said. I learned what happened to you yesterday and i know this is my fault, i am sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry, he answered. That incident made me discover something i didn’t even knew. I will explain that to you on the way. Oh, and hello, Ocellus!”
“Hi, she said. I am happy to see you have recovered from yesterday.”
“Me too, said Fluttershy. You really scared us, you know. You were looking so weak and you were shaking like if you were covered of ice”
“Yes, that was the case, said the unicorn. The sudden heat drop from my body caused to me a case of hypothermia. I will all explain it to you all on the way”
The group left the class and started to walk toward the exit of the school. While they were walking, Sunlight explained to Fluttershy, Smolder and Ocellus the his body was able to channel heat and fire to convert it into magic and vital energy. He also told them that on the contrary, using too much of his fire magic will cause his body temperature to drop drastically low and make him faint from hypothermia, like he did yesterday.
“Awesome!! You can almost be a dragon with that kind of power, said Smolder. Oh!! I know!! Maybe you can visit us in our kingdom, Lord Ember will be impressed by you and plus, this is hot here, full of fire, heat and lava!!”
“That sound really awesome!! Said the stallion. I would love visit your lands. In fact, i would love to visit every kingdom of Equestria!”
“So, you will come visit the Changeling kingdom?” asked Ocellus.
“Of course!! Answered Sunlight. I want to see Equestria in her glory and beauty from my eyes!!”
“Maybe you can ask Starlight for that at the end of the class, said Fluttershy. She will certainly allow you to go on a field trip. But now, we are arrived at destination! Sunlight, i present you my animal sanctuary!!”
Sunlight was amazed by the pure beauty and grace of what he had in front of his eyes (I was talking about the sanctuary and the background, not Fluttershy).
“This is a beautiful place, Miss Fluttershy, he said. I never had the chance to see your sanctuary with my proper eyes and so close!”
“You’ll love it, Sunlight, she said. Now, everyone, follow me to the enter!”
The students followed her, then Fluttershy allowed them to pet the animals.
“I thought you said we would be petting wild animal, Miss Fluttershy...” said the stallion. (Sunlight)
“Yes, i did. But you have to know tha the animals in this sanctuary are mostly wild, she said. A lot of them came here when they need to recover, by example, from injuries or simply have a place to rest. They can leave whenever they want, nothing hold them.”
“Sure, Miss Fluttershy, said the unicorn. I am sorry for doubting of what you said”
“This is okay, she said to Sunlight. You are not the first one to told me that. Now, let me show you how to pet them!”
She took the time to show to each student the way to gain the trust of a wild animal. Some of them were slower to learn while others learned quickly. (Sunlight, him, was somewhere between the two) Many hours passed and the activity ended, at the deception of everyone. When they left the sanctuary, a phoenix suddenly landed on Sunlight’s head and started to cuddle against is neck.
“He seem to like me, said the stallion. What do i do?!”
Fluttershy talk for a little moment with the phoenix, then she said to Sunlight:
“He want to stay with you, Sunlight. He want you to be his master! You have your own pet, now!! But where did he came from?”
“I don’t know, he said. But if he want to stay with me, i won’t mind!! Plus, phoenixes are the incarnation of the fire and match me perfectly!!”
He looked at the fire bird.
“I will call you Blazewings, he said. I always wanted to have a phoenix for pet and now, this dream came true!”
Fluttershy smiled at them, then returned with the group back to the school, just in time for the lunch. While eating, Sunlight noticed that his pet had a piece of paper, rolled and tied to his right leg. He detached it and realized that was a message from Twilight Sparkle who was saying: «Take care of him, Sunlight. This is a gift from me and Celestia. Hope you appreciate it!»
“Hey, said Smolder. You have a phoenix with you, now?”
“Yes, said the stallion. But your voice told me you are not happy about that. Do the dragons hate phoenixes?”
“We don’t hate phoenixes, she answered. We have a kind of rivalry with them! But you are my friend, so i can make efforts to accept him.”
Firewings left Sunlight’s head to land on Smolder’s one. She tried to chase him away, but the bird came back each time and instead of pecking her, he was cuddling her. Smolder finally let the phoenix land on her arm.
“I would never believe that one day i would say that, she said. But phoenixes are so nice! You know, thank to him, i got an idea!”
“What is it?!” asked Sunlight Blaze
“I am sure if i was able to accept the presence of a phoenix, she said, then other dragons can do the same!! We made peace with many races and accepted them, now, this is time for us to make peace with the phoenixes!!”
Smolder friends joined her and Sunlight at a 8 place table. Immediately, Silverstream and Gallus notice the Phoenix on Sunlight’s head.
“Wow, is this a real phoenix!? asked the hippogryff. I heard of them but never saw one of my life!!! Is he your pet?!”
“Yes, i named him Firewings” he answered.
“That is a good name, said Gallus. Fun fact, our species idolize phoenixes. They are like divinities for us!”
“Really?” asked Sandbar
“Nah, i’m just kidding, he answered. We don’t idolize them, but we like them a lot!”
Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Rarity and Pinkie Pie entered in the lunch room and saw Sunlight talking with the Young 6. They walked in his direction.
“Well, well, said Applejack, look like you recovered totally from what happened yesterday! I am happy for ya!”
“Ooh, said Rarity. Is that a phoenix on your head? He is splendid!!”
“Fluttershy told me that was your new pet!!” Said Rainbow Dash.
Pinkie Pie give him a cake with the colors of fire and with the message «I am happy you feel better»
“Don’t thank me, she said. I ate the last one, who was supposed to say «Hope you will recover fast». So i made this one instead!”
“This is nice of you, he said. I will keep it for later, in the castle of friendship’s fridge. If it have even one..”
“We are all happy that you feel better, said Fluttershy. Twilight and Spike too, even if they couldn’t be here in person”
They let them continue their discussion and left the cafeteria. After the lunch, Sunlight took the direction of Rarity’s Generosity class. Yona and Sandbar were also in the same class.
“Good afternoon, Darlings, said Rarity. Today, We will study the gems and for that, a special guest will be here today to explain it. Please welcome Maud Pie!! The best expert in gemmology in Equestria!”
Maud walked in front of the class methodically and slowly. She began to speak to the students.
“Hello, everypony and creatures, she said. My name is Maud Pie, I am here today to talk about gems. Most especially precious gems and semi-precious gems.”
Rarity made different sorts of precious and semi-precious gemstones appear in front of Maud, so that the students could have a visual support. Maud began with a sapphire. The tone of her voice was making some of the students drowsy and even 1 of them felt asleep (Yona). Sunlight was beginning to feel annoyed and sleepy, but Firewings was here to keep him awake. Finally, the classes ended and the students left the class.
“Thank you everyone for your patience, said Maud. I will come back next month to talk about the different types of sedimental rocks”
“I will admit, said Sandbar, the class of today was so boring!!”
“Yona agree with Sandbar, she said. But Yona feel bad she felt asleep during Rock Pony explanations”
“Me too, said Sunlight. Well, at least i learned a lot about rubies. I love rubies!”
“I am not surprised, said Rarity. Rubies are the gems representing the fire!! I think i should add some of them on your clothes, if you let me took them”
“Hum, nah, but thank for the offer, but you can maybe do some reparations on it” he said.
He gave his costume to Rarity, then joined the rest of his friends outside. They invited him to came with them at their Treehouse. He accepted, but before he went with them, Starlight appeared next to him.
“Before you go with your friends, she said, I have to tell you something. Fluttershy told me you wanted to visit Equestria’s different kingdom. So, i arranged for you a schedule for a field trip to each of them. One each day until you visited them all! So, are you agree with that?”
“Sure i am!!!! He answered. I can’t wait to visit all of these places!!!”
“Cool, she said. I just wanted to warn you about that. I will let you go with your friends,now. I’ll see you later!”
Starlight disappeared using teleportation. Sunlight, him, joined the Young 6 with his pet on his sides.

Chapter 4: Between Dragons and Phoenixes.
In the castle of friendship, Sunlight opened his eyes after a good night of sleep. He went to the bathroom to take a shower with hot water, because he hated everything cold. Then, after his shower, he got in the kitchen to take a couple of fruits and walked outside the castle to go to the school of friendship. Sunlight entered in the school, but was stopped by Smolder who wanted to tell him something.
“Hey, Sunlight!! She said. Good news!!! Today, you will have the honor to visit the Dragon Lands!!”
“Yes, i know!! I was so excited i almost didn't sleep!!” he said.
Then Starlight appeared behind them.
“You two are here, she said. Perfect! I already prevented the Dragon Lord Ember of Sunlight’s arrival and she can’t wait to meet you!!”
“How do we get here? Asked Sunlight Blaze. I don’t completely have mastered the long distance teleportation and i can’t fly neither!”
“Let me do it for you!!” said Starlight.
She teleported the two friends, the phoenix and herself in the Dragon Land.
“There you are, i will come back for you two at the end of the day!! She said. Well, have fun!!!”
She disappeared. Sunlight felt suddenly very good with all the heat coming from the fire land. Smolder brought Sunlight to the place they were supposed to meet Dragonlord Ember.
“Hi, Lord Ember!!! Said Smolder. I am back with a visitor!! In fact, two...”
Ember saw Sunlight and smile. She left her spot to land in front of him and shook his hoove.
“So, you must be Sunlight Blaze, she said. I heard from Smolder that you have some impressive magical skills with fire and i can't wait to see you in action!!”
“Thank you, Lord Ember, he said. I am honored of your respect”
“Oh, and you know how to talk to the royalty! Even better!!” said Ember.
“Normal, i have grown among the bourgeoisie of Canterlot, he said. I am so happy to be here, all this heat make me feel so good!!”
“To make it short, said Smolder, Sunlight's body is magically affected by an ability to absorb any incoming source of heat to convert it into energy, that he can use to boost his power or heal himself from wounds quickly”
“Really? We dragons are immune to fire, but we can't absorb it. said Ember. The only creatures i know that have this ability are the phoenixes”
She then noticed the phoenix in Sunlight’s bag pack right after saying that.
“Wait, did you bring a phoenix here in my kingdom?! Asked Ember with a slight anger. Don’t you know phoenixes and dragons are not the best friends in the world?!”
“I know, Lord Ember, said the unicorn. This is because he is my pet and he wanted to come with me. In fact, he have to follow me everywhere...”
“This is my fault, said Smolder. I told him to bring his pet! I did that because well, i kinda like the phoenixes, now!”
“What?! Did you really said you like them?! Said the dragon Lord. Dragons and phoenixes were rivals for thousand of years and are still our rivals, How can you break that rule?!!”
"Like every other creatures we had a rivalry with, said Smolder. But we opened our heart to them, we changed our ways. I mean, i am friend with 5 different races of creatures!! I was thinking like you, Lord Ember, but now, i think dragons and phoenixes should be friends instead of rivals!!”
“I am on her side too, said the stallion. Phoenixes are not the monsters you think they are. They just want to be friends with you.”
Firewings (or Blazewings? Which name sound better for him?) got out of the bag to land of Ember’s head. She first tried to chase him away, like Smolder did before, and like he did the last time, he came back again and again on her head. She finally gave up and let him cuddle against her head.
“You see, Lord Ember? Said Smolder. He just want to be friend with you, like all the phoenixes!”
Ember took a moment of silence to think.
“Hum...You may be right, smolder, she said. Maybe dragons and phoenixes can be friends!! I will announce that to every dragon of this land!!”
She flied on the top of the highest cliff and used her poweful voice to get the attention of everyone. Two minutes later, they were all present.
“I reunited you to announce you two things!! She yelled. First, we have a special guest i am sure you will love!! Sunlight Blaze!!!”
He took the place of Ember and showed to the dragon some fire magic. He repeated what he did two days ago, but at the difference he didn’t make a big finale. The dragons cheered him once he had finished his demonstration.
“Also, said Ember, dragons have made a lot of progress since the last years in the domain of acceptation and integrity with other races. I am proud of you for that, but today, this is time to change one last thing!! You know that us, dragons, are not very friendly with the phoenixes, right?”
They all answered by the affirmative.
“Not anymore, she said. Smolder and Sunlight here, convinced me that phoenixes and dragons could be friends and live together!!”
That declaration shocked a lot of dragons.
“I know that seem crazy, said Smolder, petting Firewings. But these creatures are kind and just want to be friend with us! They are like us after all, they are creatures of fire!!”
The dragons in the crowd began to discuss. Ember brought them back to silence.
“That will be everything for today, she said. You can go now.”
She flied off the cliff followed by Smolder. Sunlight, him, used teleportation, followed by Firewings who for safety reasons, hided in the bag. They saw Garble show up.
“Sunlight, i present you my brother Garble, she said. Garble, i present you my friend Sunlight. I am sure you two will get along very fast!”
The two guys stayed silent for a long moment, neither of them wanting to start a conversation. But Garble’s friends arrived to break the awkward silence.
“Hey, Garble!! Said the fat dragon of the trio. Stop meing like a statue and came lava surf with us!!”
“If he want, the pony can come too!” said the thin one.
“Hurry up!!” said the last dragon of the trio.
“Lava Surfing? Asked Sunlight. You surf on lava?!”
“Yes, answered Garble. You see, our scales are totally fireproof and lavaproof”
“Hum, I am not fireproof, well, technically, yes. The defenition of fireproof is to resist to heat and fire. I know now that my body can absorb any source of heat via my horn, body, hooves and my mane, said the unicorn. In a way, that make me fireproof, Lava being a source of heat. But lava is really hot and i am afraid i might overheat if i stay too long in it. Hum, wait a minute!! I know a spell who will protect me from extreme temperatures!!”
Sunlight closed his eyes and cast on himself the spell, then asked Garble to splash him with lava.
“Are you sure about it? He asked. Because if your spell don’t work, well, i don't want to be accused of murder...And causing a war...”
“Trust me, said the pony, do it!!”
Garble threw the bucket of lava on Sunlight. At his satisfaction, the hot liquid splashed against the pony without causing him any pain, like if that was just water.
“See, i told you this spell would work, said the unicorn. The only problem is that the spell last only 1 hour.”
“That should be enough, said Garble. Now, join us!!”
The two arrived a few minutes later at one of the lava rivers. Garble didn't wait longer and took a surf board made of rock to join his friends waiting for him. Sunlight touched the lava with his left front leg, then jumped in it. The other dragons except Garble, were surprised and shocked to assist to what they thought was a suicide.
“Did he just...Uh... jumped in lava?! Said the tall dragon. Oh No!! What will say Lord Ember if she will learn about it!!?”
“Don’t worry, guys, said Garble, wait for it...”
Sunlight reappeared at the surface, with a smile on his face. Garble’s friends were even more surprised and shocked.
“How? Said the fat dragon. You should have died!! Ponies are not immune to fire, not to my knowledge, at least”
“This is called magic, pal, said Sunlight. For the next hour, i will be totally immune to the effects of the lava, so let’s get that surf competition started!!”
Sunlight got out of the lava river and with his magic, summoned a long piece of rock from the ground, who had the shape of a surfboard. Then he threw it in the river and jumped on it. A dragon gave the starting signal and the five competitor began to surf. They soon reached the fast streams.
“Now, this is where the real fun begin!! Said Garble to Sunlight. The first to arrive at the finish line down the river will win!”
Sunlight suddenly almost lost balance due to the brutal change of speed, but quickly recovered. He watched the dragons in front of him to see how they were maneuvering on their surfboards. He learned that they were using their tail like a steering to turn right of left. Sunlight followed their example, but using his magic and soon after, reached the other dragons.
“You are doing good for someone who never surfed before!” said one of the dragons.
“But you will need more than that to beat lava surf adepts like us!!” said another one.
The dragons sped up and began to distance Sunlight. The unicorn didn't let despair get to him and started to go faster, like a rocket. He soon reached them and mocked them by holding on his two front hooves. Sunlight got back on his four hooves to after stand on his two back hooves like a bipedal creature. After a few minutes, all of Garble friends lost balance and fell in the lava, unable to keep up with him and Sunlight.
“Not bad! Said the red dragon. You really have talent in lavasurf!! But don’t think you have any chance to win!!”
“We’ll see about that, said the unicorn. Oh, and take caution about that rock in front of you!!”
“What? A rock?!” asked Garble
He looked in front of him and saw a big rock that he couldn't avoid in time. He crashed in it and fell in the lava, making Sunlight able to finish the race. Then he came back to help him get out of the lava.
“Guess i won, he said to him. That was really fun!!”
Garble got up and looked at the unicorn.
“That was the beginner’s luck, said the dragon. Don’t think you can win a second time. Beside, i never think i would say that to a pony someday, but you are pretty cool!”
“Thank you” he said.
“That was awesome, Sunlight!! Said Smolder. You literally crushed the competition!! And most importantly, at your first try!!”
Firewings landed on Garble's head. This one panicked a little and frenetically tried to chase him away.
“What does that bird want to me?! He asked. Does he want revenge for that time i stole one of their eggs”
“No, said Smolder. I don't think it's the same. This one just want you to like him! Please at least try to be kind with him!”
The phoenix decided to land on Garble’s shoulder and started cuddling against his face. Garble felt awkward for a moment, but then decided to touch his head. Firewings let the dragon hand petting him.
“Hum, phoenixes are not so bad, said Garble. But if that one want to convince me to like him, he will have to make something impressive!Something...Cool!”
The phoenix heard his words and left his shoulder. He entered in spontaneous combustion and charge on a huge rock, which exploded in thousands of flaming shards. Then the bird came back on the dragon’s head, his eyes saying like «What about it? Is that cool enough for you?»
“Okay, that is pretty impressive, said Garble. Fine, he persuaded me.”
“Can we pet him too?” asked one of Garble’s friends.
“Me first!!” said another one.
“No, me!!” said the third one
“Calm on!!” said Ember, who just arrived.
Firewings suddenly flied away from the Dragon Land at the surprise of everyone.
“Where did he went?!” asked Smolder.
They stayed in place for a long time before Firewings came back, followed by hundreds of other phoenixes.
“Tell me i am dreaming right now” said Smolder
“Holy smokes, said Garble. So many phoenixes...”
Sunlight was smiling at the view of the hundreds of phoenixes coming in their direction. All of the other dragons also saw them and were muted of surprise.
“He called all of the phoenixes of the region” said Sunlight.
The fire birds landed on differents spots and cliffs. Ember and the other dragons then came all at the same spot to meet them. Ember saluted the birds.
“Today, she said. This is a great day!! Today is the day dragons and phoenixes will not be rivals, but friends. The time has come for both of us to become one, living together in harmony!!!”
A phoenix, twice bigger and more colorful that the other phoenixes, landed on Ember’s scepter. Sunlight cast on the bird a spell learned from Fluttershy supposed to make any animal able to speak the Pony Language. The bird begin to talk, with a female voice, to her subjects.
“Your leader is right, dragons, said the queen of the phoenixes. I know, Dragons have always been mean with us in the past, picking our eggs and attacking our babies.”
Garble and his friends felt targeted and looked ashamed to the ground.
“We are sorry about that, said Garble. I was back then a stupid bully who was targeting weaker than me to look stronger to my friends. And i am still ashamed of that attitude of mine...Please forgive me, majesty!”
“And us too!!” said his friends.
The queen stared at them, then laugh.
“But, we, phoenixes, are not resentful, he said to them and everyone. We were waiting for the day you would finally accept us! The day you will stop being rude to everyone else. I accept your excuses.”
“Are you agree, dragons, said Lord Ember, to accept the friendship of the phoenixes?”
The dragons all answered by a loud yes.
“And you, phoenixes!! Said the queen to her subjects. Are you agree to accept the friendship of the dragons?”
The birds all make affirmative noise and scream, flapping their wings.
Ember and the leader of the phoenixes shook each other hands (wings for the bird) followed by every other dragons and phoenixes present.
“So, what is your name, your highness? Asked Ember to the phoenix alpha.
“Queen Zenith” she answered.
“I am Lord Ember” said the blue dragon.
Sunlight arrived near the two leaders, followed by Smolder.
“I am honored to meet you, queen Zenith” he said.
“You are the one my daughter Cinder talk me about!” she said.
“Cinder? Your daughter? The one who is actually on my head right now?” asked Sunlight.
“Yes, answered the queen. She told me that your leader, the princess Twilight Sparkle, asked her to protect you. My daughter also told me she appreciated you a lot, that you were kind with her. Isn't that right, Cinder?”
The phoenix answered by an affirmative sign of the head. The queen said to Sunlight to wait a moment and flied away in direction of her nest. She came back a few minutes later with a necklace crimped of a beautiful ruby that she put around Sunlight’s neck.
“Take that gift with you, said Zenith. This is an artifact who will give you our magic wings. The time it will last depend on your energy and focus. In our land, you could have them indefinitely, but outside and without any source of heat to charge you, you can make it last 4 to 6 hours, this is it's only setback.”
“Thank you, said the unicorn, thank you very much. I promise to take care of your daughter like she take care of me!”
“Thank you, Sunlight, for your help, said Smolder. That wouldn’t have been possible without you!”
Everywhere in the dragon land, both races were interacting with each other, flying in the sky or breathing fire. Then at the end of the day, came Starlight. She was surprised and happy to know what Smolder and Sunlight realized today.
“Oh, I have to told it to Twilight, she said. She will be so happy to hear that you two reunited dragons and phoenixes together!! I’ll do it once we will arrive at the school!!”
Starlight brought the two students and Cinder (yes, for now on, i will call Firewings like that) back to school. Then in the evening, she sent to Twilight a letter about the historical event of today. Meanwhile, in his room, Sunlight saw his clothes on his bed, with a message wrote by Rarity. The message was saying: «Hope you will love the reparations and modifications i added to your clothes. I asked Starlight to enchant them so they can resist to fire, cold and damages». Sunlight put them on and looked in the mirror. He felt satisfied on it, then removed them off and jumped in his bed, while Cinder, his pet and guardian, fell asleep in a nest Starlight made for her.
“Goodnight, Cinder” he said.

Chapter 5: Sunlight visit the kingdom of the Hippogryffs
Sunlight was already awake, ready for another day of fun. He took a bunch of cupcakes and ran out of the castle, followed by Cinder (his phoenix) and joined the Young 6 near the school.
“Hi guys, he said. I am happy to see you!!”
The 6 students greeted him too and together, they entered in the school to begin the classes. But then, Starlight called Sunlight at her office.
“I’ll see you later, pals!! Said the unicorn
“Yeah, see ya!!” said Smolder.
Sunlight walked in direction of Starlight’s office and entered.
“So, take a seat, Sunlight, she said. What i have to say to you is very important.”
“Is this about something wrong i’ve done?” he asked.
“What? No!!! She answered. I wanted to tell you that i finally completed your field trip schedule!”
“Cool, he said. So, which place will i visit next?”
“The Mount Aeris, she answered. Home of the hippogryffs!! And after that, Seaquestria, Home of the Seaponies!!”
“Sure that sound fun, said the stallion. But what about the underwater part of the visit?! Water, cold water, is one of my weaknesses; If i stay too long, i’ll die!!!”
“No worry about this, she said. Twilight told me that the seaponies use shards of their magic pearl to transform at will from Seaponies to hippogryffs. In your case, the magic of the pearl may neutralize your fire absorbtion ability, meaning you would be able to stay underwater without danger.
“I hope you’re right, he said. So, that mean i will have to let my pet aside when i will visit Seaquestria.”
“Yes, said Starlight. I doubt phoenixes love water...Now, just prepare yourself to go to a trip to Mount Aeris and i will tell to Silverstream she will come with you!”
Sunlight walked out of the office and went to the castle to take his bag and the necklace queen Zenith gave to him. Then he returned to the school, joined by Silverstream.
“Starlight told me i’ll go with you to Mount Aeris!! She said. This is so great!! You’ll see, you will love my kind!!!”
“I am sure i will, answered Sunlight. So, how long it take to get to your homeland?”
“Well, that depend of the mean you use, she answered. With an hot air balloon, i would say a few days to a week, With teleportation, less than 1 second, in train or boat, less than half a day hours. Finally, i can make the distance in less than 4 hours from Ponyville to Mount Aeris, but the common of the pegasi can make the way in 8 hours!!”
“You won’t have to worry, said Discord, who was listening. I can bring you here instantly, my magic is far more powerful than Starlight!! Let me help you get there!”
Discord snapped his fingers and the two students (and the phoenix) appeared at the enter of the hippogryff kingdom. The two guards posted each side of the gate noticed them and immediately screamed to prevent Silverstream’s dad of her arrival. The concerned hippogryff arrived soon after and smiled at the sight of her daughter Silverstream and her guest.
“Well, nice to see you, my daughter, he said. Nice to meet you too, friend of Silverstream!”
“His name is Sunlight Blaze, dad, said Silverstream. Don’t you remember what Headmare Starlight Glimmer said?”
“I am sorry!! You know i don’t have such a good memory to retain the names, he answered. Well, welcome to our humble village, Sunlight Blaze!! And for your pet, just know that every creatures with wings or bird like are also welcome!! Phoenixes are such a noble and majestic species of bird!!”
Cinder seem to like the compliment. She get out of Sunlight’s bag and fly away with the intention of exploring the town.
“Now, follow me, horned pony, said the chief. Me and Silverstream will show you the beauty of our kingdom!!”
The trio began their visit to the local market of the town. A lot of seafood, vegetables, bread, meat and artisanal products were in the lot. Sunlight was invited to taste samples of their products
“Like you can see, Us, hyppogriffs, Love seafood, vegetable and most of all, bread. But being half pony, we came to love your sweet treats such as pastries, cakes, fruits, candy and almost everything your race eat! Now, let’s continue the visit to the refreshment tent! You have to taste our salmon juice!!”
Sunlight tasted the salmon juice to see if he liked it. He didn’t, but force himself to not make a disgusted face. Then Silverstream’s dad began to tell him what kind activities they were doing.
“Like you can certainly deduce, Sunlight, he said, hippogryffs are half eagle, half-pony and fly is for us a necessity. This is why we organize each weekend flight competition to see who is the best in aerial skills. We also love to picnic with our mermaid counterparts twice a week and luckily for you, today is one of them! For the major part of our routine, we simply fly in the sky, talk to each other, make competitions of who scream the louder, play with our kids...”
“Your life seem to be so peaceful! Said Sunlight. Don’t you feel bored at times?”
“Never, said the father of his friend. Each day is a fun day for us! We find happiness in everything we do”
After the brunch, the little group continued to visit the town, Sunlight saw a lot of things that made him amazed. But the Harmonizing Heights was the place he really appreciated to see. At the end of the visit, Sunlight began to feel hungry and his belly gurgled.
“Seem like one of us is hungry!! Said the chief. That’s good!! Because now it’s time for our traditional picnic!”
Ten minutes later, Sunlight was eating at a picnic towel at the beach among a lot of hippogryffs and seaponies. Silverstream made him taste seafood, who pleased the young hero.
“Hum, seafood is so tasty!! He said. I didn’t thought something coming from the water could be so delicious!!”
Silverstream’s brother, Terramar, came to join her and Sunlight.
“Hi, sis!! He said. What are you doing here instead of being to school?”
“I am here because our school’s Headmare insisted on me assisting Sunlight during his visit here!!”
“Ho, nice to meet you, Sunlight, he said. My name is Terramar.”
Sunlight shook his right hoof with the left claw of Terramar. Then another majestic hippogryff joined them.
“Hi mom!!! Said Silverstream when she saw her. Sunlight, i present you our mom: Ocean Flow!! Mom, i present you one of my friend at the school of friendship, Sunlight Blaze!”
“Nice to meet you, Sunlight, said Ocean Flow. My daughter talked a lot about you and your magic. She said you had some kind of bound with the fire. For us, seaponies, fire is something we don’t see often underwater. What is fire, by the way?”
“Simple, answered Sunlight. I will show you.”
He focused some of his energy in his horn, making a ball of flames that he made explode over the bay, creating a firework. Then he shot a fire blast at a tree near the water, reducing it to ashes and finally, threw a small fire ball in the water, which disappeared in a cloud of steam. Many of the hippogryffs and every seaponies were amazed by the demonstration. Sunlight stopped here to avoid wasting more of his energy, judging he showed enough. His phoenix immediately flied in his direction and landed on his back.
“Fire and water are two opposites, said the unicorn. This is why i don’t like water, well, cold water, at least. I am totally fine with warm and hot water. Do you have some hot spots in your city? I mean, warm spots of water, not your hot spots...he he he...”
Ocean Flow laugh.
“You don’t have to worry about that, silly!! She said. You’ll see after we transform you into a seapony, like us!”
After the picnic on the beach was over, Ocean Flow brought Sunlight close to the water but before, this one told to Cinder to wait for his return and also gave his necklace and his clothes. Then the mother pushed him in the water, making Sunlight panicking.
“Too cold!! Somegryff help me!! He yelled. I don’t know how to swim!!!”
Then Ocean Flow used her shard of the magic pearl in her necklace to turn Sunlight into a Seapony. She brought him underwater by force because he was still freaking out and was screaming like a girl. He opened his eyes and saw that his back legs and pony tail disappeared to make place to a fish tail and fins, his mane was still present, but was replaced by a fish wavelike crest. His cutie mark was on his tail’s fins, which was shaped in the form of flames. He was about to scream once again, but Silverstream, who joined her, put her hand on his mouth.
“Relax, Sunlight, she said. How do you feel right now? Good?”
“I don’t feel any pain or loose of heat, he answered. In fact, i think Starlight was right about her theory. I feel like my body accepted this sudden change of environment thank to the magic of your pearl. My Cutie mark didn’t changed but i don’t feel sick. Now that i am underwater, i may try to work on my magic control of the water element. This is one of my objectives to master every element of the Elemental Arcanes: Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Thunder, Nature, Ice and Light. Until now, i only have mastered fire...But less talking, i have a city to explore!!”
He began to swim like if he was born in the ocean. He then went at the surface and used his magic to make a ball of water float above him high in the sky. Then, he transformed it into a spiked ball and made it explode. Ocean Flow applauded him.
“Imagine the same thing, but times one hundred, he said. This is the level of mastery of the water element i want to reach”
“Hum, you have a long way before reaching that level, said Ocean Flow. But i know you’ll progress fast”
“I know, he said. Well, shall we continue the visit?”
“Terramar will not be with us, said Silverstream, he wanted to pass the afternoon with his father. And yes, follow us!!”
The trio swam in direction of their submarine city. Sunlight was once again amazed by the magnificence of their town.
“This is so beautiful, he said. So colorful, so charming!!!”
“Glad you enjoy the view, said Ocean Flow. But this is only the outside, wait to see what the inside look like!!”
They entered in the kingdom, where they were greeted by the local seaponies with attention and kindness.
“Let’s show you what we do of our days underwater, when we are not swimming, of course! She said.
“Can i told him what we do of our days? Said a seapony coming from nowhere. I love explaining to visitors from the surface our habits!!”
“Before you ask, Sunlight, said Silverstream, The seapony in front of you is the princess Skystar, daughter of our leader, Queen Novo.”
Sunlight made a reverence to the princess, that one laughed.
“This is not necessary!! She said, embarrassed. But really not! I would prefer if you threated me as a friend!”
“Fine, he said. So, pr...uh Skystar, can you told me what you do of your days?”
“We love racing each other, she said. We organize swimming competitions each week!! Personally, i prefer arts craft, like making art pieces with seashells and talking to fishes. But the other prefer to talk with each other, play with balloon-fishes, sing, dance, jump out of the water like the dolphins. And so, so much more!! But now, i will present you to my mother. I prevent you, she can be a little bit grumpy, that depend of the day and her mood.”
The group swam until they reached the royal room of the underwater palace. Unfortunately, one of queen Novo’s servant told them she was actually in a massage session.
“Too bad, said the princess. But hey, she is not the only main attraction of our kingdom! Follow me!!”
Sunlight, Silverstream and Ocean Flow followed her to a visit of every place in a area of 2 kilometers. Sunlight saw during the next hours the exploration lasted many species of fishes, in all sort of shapes and colors He swam between little submarine volcanoes, until his curiosity was triggered by this source of hot water in the deeps of the oceans.
“Wow, i didn’t expected to see volcanoes in a place like that, said Sunlight. This is amazing!!”
“This is because heat is something a lot of submarines species depend on to survive, said Silverstream. Oceans are not just cold, some places are tempered and others, warms.”
“That make sense, said Sunlight. In my pony form, when i need to clean myself, i use water, hot water. That also mean even if my body is bounded with the fire, i still need water to keep me alive. This is why i wanted to travel around Equestria in the first place: To learn more about magic or myself...And also make new friends, of course!”
The sun finally began to set down, meaning that the visit was about to end for Sunlight. The group returned at the surface and Sunlight was changed back into a pony.
“Thank you for this wonderful day, he said to all the hippogryffs and seaponies. I appreciated your hospitality and i hope come back here again!”
The princess Skystar throw at Sunlight a shard of the seaponies’ magic pearl.
“This is a gift from my mother!! She said. Like that, if you find yourself in a place full of water, that could be useful!!”
Sunlight called his phoenix and activated the artifact queen Zenith gave to him. Two beautiful magic phoenix wings, which the colors were matching his mane, appeared on his back. Unfortunately for him, because he never experienced flight before, he crashed many times, making the hippogryffs laugh. Starlight finally arrived in time to avoid him breaking more of his bones. After talking a few minutes with the others, she brought back Sunlight and Silverstream to Ponyville by teleportation.
“I was so worried Discord would have play to you a bad trick, she said. Like sending you in the middle of the Everfree Forest. Or in the middle of a desert...Next time, i want you to wait me, okay? And you, Sunlight, i want you to told me what you learned today once we will be back in the castle”
Silverstream went joining her friends and Sunlight ran in direction of the castle of friendship, followed by Starlight, in the sunset’s light.

Chapter 6: Sunlight Meet the Yaks and the Crystal ponies
4 days had passed since Sunlight came back from Mount Aeris. During which he visited the changelings and the griffin kingdom, Appleoosa and Manehattan. He didn’t learn anything important, but had a good time eating griffins scones with the griffins, playing «Guess who is that pony» with the changelings, made rodeo competition at Appleoosa (he got a participation prize and fractures) then finally made a complete guided tour of Manehattan. Now, today, Sunlight’s next destination was the Yakyakistan located in the Frozen Mountains, (which included the Crystal Empire, located in the same region) which he thought he could visit first, pass the day with them, sleep here and then, visiting the Crystal Empire. He proposed that idea to Starlight, who accepted it.
“You really want to visit the Yak village? She asked. You know it is located in a very cold region of Equestria and you couldn’t be able to stand it very long, from what you told me about you and the cold.”
Sunlight knew that she was right, He was indeed suceptible to cold and ice and took a few minutes to think about a solution. During this time, he was standing in her office.
“With Cinder at my side, he said. I could be able to support the hard cold of that region.”
“Have you though about if that same cold could also affect your phoenix?” asked Starlight.
“Hum, only Miss Fluttershy or Miss Celestia could told us the answer, answered Sunlight. Why don’t you ask the question to one of them?”
“We don’t have the time, she answered. But i can cast on you a spell to protect you from the cold!”
She disappeared and reappeared 10 seconds later with a book of elemental magic spells. She opened it and found a cold protection spell in the chapter of Ice.
“The effect of that spell last 4 hours only, she said. This is not enough and i doubt you will have enough of 4 hours to learn this spell.”
She continued looking for a more powerful spell or a longer lasting spell, but didnt find one
“Damn it!! She said. Let me a minute, okay?”
She disappeared again and came back 3 minutes later with dozens of books. She read all of them but didn’t find cold protection spells lasting more than 8 hours. They heard a laugh coming from Yona, who had listened to most of their discussion.
“Yona know how Fire Pony could survive Yak village cold! She said. Yaks have been living in cold for centuries and know everything. Miss Rarity made very warm clothes for Fire Pony to support cold!”
“Yona is right, said Rarity. (Her class was near from where Sunlight and Starlight were talking) You are depending too much on magic. Starlight. There is other alternatives to magic. I heard Sunlight will visit the Yakyakistan today, so i made a winter kit for him!!”
She returned in her class and came back one minute later with the winter clothes she made for Sunlight. They were a buffed version of his hero costume.
“Thank you, Miss Rarity, he said. For these clothes, you are too generous...I feel like i don't deserve that much...especially for somepony like you...”
“Oh, please, don't judge yourself so harshly. I am happy to do things for the others and my friends, said Rarity. Now, excuse me, my class will begin soon.”
“Can Yona come with Fire Pony? Asked Yona. All Yona’s friends came with Fire Pony during the last days!”
“Sure, said Starlight. You didn’t need to ask.”
Sunlight had already put his winter clothes on.
“I am ready, i think!” he said.
Starlight teleported him and Yona to the Yak village. They surprised some yaks when the two friends appeared in the center of the village. But their surprise transformed into joy when they saw Yona.
“Yona is back!!!” said one of them.
Then, 2 minutes later, every yak of the village had came to welcome Yona. She then presented Sunlight to them.
“Everyyaks, she said. Yona present you a friend of her, Fire Pony!”
“Sunlight Blaze, he said. I know you talk a little bit differently from every other creatures, but can you please call me by my pony name?”
“Yona sorry, she said. Yona will try to call friend pony by his name... But can Yona call you Sunlight Pony instead?”
“Whatever name including Sun, light or fire will be okay, he answered. But now, i want to know what your people do of their days.”
“Friends of yaks are welcome in our village, said the prince Rutherford. Yes, I talk at the first person, Princess Twilight encouraged me to learn ponies and other creatures accent. Prince Rutherford don’t regret that decision because he won 3 times the prize of best orator of Equestria!! Ha ha ha ha!!”
“So, nopony forced you to learn to talk like us?” asked Sunlight.
“Nope, he answered. Nopony and nobody can force yaks to do something we don’t want to do! But enough talking, this is time for you to see how us, yaks, live.”
“I am ready!!! He said. Show me what yaks does!!”
Rutherford first brought Sunlight to the yurt where he will pass the night, then he showed to him another one, then another until Sunlight visited them all.
“Now that Sunlight have seen yaks yurts, said the yak prince. He will see how yaks eat!!! Follow me to the pantry!”
Sunlight arrived in the pantry of the village and saw a lot of vanilla cakes and griffins scones, cupcakes and different pastries.
“Now watch us” said Rutherford.
He ate the whole cake in one bite.
“Now, Pony have to try to eat like a yak!” said the prince.
Sunlight tried to take the largest bite he could took but compared to Rutherford, his bite was tiny. A lot of yaks laughed and mocked him. The yak prince encouraged Sunlight to try again. He bited in what looked like a huge strawberry cake, eating it whole.
“What about that!?” he said to the yaks
“Pony just eat a cupcake, said one of the elder yaks. Pony used a zoomed view to make him look like he ate a cake!”
“Well, at least, he ate it whole, said Rutherford. Yaks eat in one bite anything, this is how we eat!!”
The other yaks agreed with their chief and cheered Sunlight, chanting his name.
“Now, Pony will learn how to break things like a yak, said the prince. Watch and learn!”
Him and the rest of the village began to break wood logs to pieces. Sunlight tried to stomp something little to begin, a little wood branch. The prince stopped him.
“Why Pony want to stomp millennial sacred yak twig?” asked prince Rutherford to him.
“What, this is a sacred twig!? I...Uh...I am sorry, i thought that was a ordinary twig, In that case, i'll just find something else to break!!” said the unicorn, panicked.
The prince laughed.
“Yak just kidding!! He said. This yak gag work each time!!! Yak gags are the best!!!”
Sunlight felt a little bit embarrassed being tricked.
“Pony can continue to smash little twig, he said. Everyone continue to smash!!”
Yona joined them and started smashing a rock.
“Prince Rutherford jokes are the best, she said. Is Sunlight Pony okay?”
“I am fine, he said. I just can’t believe i fell for that. Someone smart as me, tricked by such a simple prank”
“Even smartest ponies can’t compete with the power of yaks jokes! She said. Yak are the best in everything!!”
“Nah-ah, said the unicorn. Yaks are not the best in magic!”
“Hum, Sunlight pony have a point, she said. But yaks are fair and humble, Yaks have to let ponies being the best at one thing!”
“Your race is very proud, he said. Even dragons are not as proud as your race is! Does it exist anything that can make yaks doubt of themselves?”
“Nope, yaks don’t feel fear, yaks are tough, yaks don’t let anyone belittle them!!”
“I wish i could have that level of confidence, said the pony. Letting no one walk on my feet, discourage me or make me feel powerless”
“Yona like Sunlight Pony the way he is, she said. Because Sunlight is Yona’s friend!!”
“Thank you, he said. I can admit that yaks are the best for motivational speeches.”
During the rest of the day, Sunlight did snow ponies, ate pastries, smashed objects and danced with the yaks. But the time to sleep finally came and Sunrise learned that he would have to share the tent with 4 other yaks. He kept his winter suit to stay warm during the night. The next day, Sunlight woke up and went outside the yurt.
“Pony is finally awake!! Said Rutherford. Hurry up, you will be late!! There is a pony waiting for you outside! Yaks say goodbye and thank to Sunlight pony for passing a day with yaks. Pony is now an honorary yak!!”
The prince gave him a yak wood talisman. Sunlight thanked him and ran fast as he could to join the pony waiting for him. He saw that was Starlight, who teleported him and herself immediately at the Crystal Empire entrance. The guards keeping it told to a messenger to inform the prince Shining Armor and the princess Cadence of the arrival of Starlight and his student. A few moment later, a royal cart arrived, with only Cadence in it, at the entrance.
“This is nice to see you again, Starlight!!” said Cadence, hugging her.
“Me too, princess, she said. But you know what bring me here...”
She pointed at Sunlight Blaze, who was petting his phoenix and wearing his normal clothes.
“This is one of my students, Sunlight Blaze, she said. Celestia, Twilight and me saw think he is not like other unicorns, he seem to have a special gift. There is everything we know about it in this book, if you discover something new about him, write it in the book. Now, i will let him in your hands, goodbye!!!”
She disappeared. Cadence walked in direction of the young stallion, who was amazed by the beauty of the place. Sunlight stopped looking at the surroundings when the princess told his name. He immediately knelt and excused himself of his disrespectful attitude.
“This is nothing, she said. I can understand the Crystal Empire is a beautiful place, especially for somepony who never saw it before. At the way you acted when you saw me, that way you spoke, i must deduce you are for the nobility, right?”
“Is this so obvious? Answered Sunlight. My parents are of the nobility and i was raised in Canterlot, so yes, they taught me everything about the rules and habits high-society members need to follow”
“Hum, did you know that male unicorns from the high society can receive the title of Prince if they do an heroic act or gain the heart of a princess?”
“Yes, he answered. I know that. But i don’t want to be a prince, i want to be a hero, like Twilight and her friends in the past!! They inspired me and i want at my turn to inspire futures generations!”
“So, my sister-in-law and her friends have inspired you? She said. I am glad to heard that. If you followed their adventures, you certainly have heard of me...And wasn't Twilight a princess and a hero?”
“Yes, I know everything about them and their siblings, he said. I heard about how you and Shining Armor, beat the changelings when they were evil with the power of love. A little bit cliché in my opinion, but really worthy of a fairy tale! And you have a point about Twilight being a princess and a hero.”
“You seem to have a high consideration of Friendship, she asked. But how do you consider love? Love is the heart of my empire, his source of magic and my source of magic.”
“Love? He answered. This is hard to explain. I know what love is, i have love for my family and my friends. But if we talk about romantical love, i don't consider it important. Love, the true kind, is like a double-edged sword. Why? Love can motive you to do the impossible, but it also make you vulnerable, weak and blind your reason in the most critical situations. A hero must have the capacity to love and feel empathy, but he also have to put them aside in some situations.”
“So, does that mean you give or not an importance about it?” she asked.
“That mean that i accept familial love of friendship love, he said. But not romantic love, I don't want and will never fall in love with somepony else.”
“You will fall in love one day or another, said Cadence. Nopony, i mean, no creature are safe from it.”
“We’ll see about that, he answered to her. My mind is pretty strong, i won’t fall in love!”
“You want to bet? She said. I could make you fall in love with, by example, that mare over here with a simple spell”
“Prove it...I'll give you 5 bits if it work” said Sunlight.
The princess of love casted a love spell on him.
“See? He said, My mind is stronger than my...”
The spell made it’s effect.
“Now, go tell to that mare you love her and want to marry her!” she told to him.
Sunlight obeyed and walked in her direction. He told to the Crystal mare that he loved her and wanted her hoof.
“Are you crazy? She said. We just met!! And i am already married, you creep!”
Cadence cancelled her spell and Sunlight came back to her, confused and not happy to have been brainwashed. He gave her 5 bits.
“So, Sunlight, are you still thinking your mind his stronger than love?” she asked, satisfied of winning the bet.
“Love spells doesn’t count, he answered. And that mean that now, i'll have to find a way to resist to charm spells!”
Cadence begin to feel angered by Sunlight’s stubbornness against love. Her anger soon turned into a burning determination to make him accept love. She couldn’t let that happen, that was her duty of princess of love.
“Just follow me, she said, trying to hide her anger by smiling. I will present you my husband and our baby and then, the main attractions of my kingdom.”
“Okay, he answered. And if you ask why i have a phoenix with me, this is because she is my pet. Celestia and Twilight offered her to me as a gift. What do you think about that?”
“This is impressive, she said. I read in that book that you have a close relation with the fire element. Do you know fire and love are two things generally assimilated together. Maybe love can boost your fire magic!”
“Uh..., said Sunlight, conscious of what Cadence was trying to do. This «Fire of love» thing i heard about his bullshit”
“B...Bull...?! How dare you!! She said. Do you realize i can banish you of this kingdom right now, uh?”
“Yes, he answered. But you won’t do it because you want me to consider love like something vital...”
“Uh.., she tried to say, now realizing that Sunlight returned her own psychological manipulation technique against her. I hate you...Where did you learn psychological manipulation?”
“I learned it from Discord, he answered. This is a quality a hero like me should have!”
“What? You told me you learned something from that clown but not from me? The sister-in-law of your idol?!”
“Love is something useless for me, except if it’s familial love, he said. You can’t change my mind...And the fact you are Twilight sister-in-law doesn't mean anything to me!”
“That one will be tough, she thought. That’s fine, i love a good challenge. After all, my duty is to make every living beings to believe in true love. I sense he really care about his friends and family, no hope is lost to redeem him to accept love fully.”
On these words, her and Sunlight entered in the royal palace.

Chapter 7: The day of revelations
Princess Cadence brought Sunlight in her castle and once inside, began the visit by showing him the royal dinning room.
“This is where me, my husband and our daughter take our meals, she said. This kitchen have all the best ingredients you could find in all Equestria, Do you know how to cook?”
“Yes, he answered. One of my parent’s friend was a Chef and he taught me for 3 years all the basis and most of the advanced culinary techniques. Beside cooking, do you know i also followed clothing, design and mechanic classes, and learned karate and judo? Being raised in a rich family offered me lot of advantages.”
“Really? She asked. Can you show me? First, make that recipe!”
Sunlight read the recipe Cadence gave to him and knew that would be a difficult one.
“That’s easy, he said. I will ace this!”
Sunlight began to prepare the specialty of the Crystal Empire under the watch of the princess. Sunlight was doing good as the time was passing, putting all of his talent in it while trying to give to Cadence the impression that was easy for him. After 1 hour of sheer pressure, Sunlight finally presented the result to the princess, who tasted it.
“Oh my, this is definitively the best thing i have tasted of my life!! She said. I mean, not bad, you were not joking. But i find hard to believe somepony like you more in fighting and brain know something about fashion?”
“Well, everypony in Canterlot have to be clothed fancy, he answered. My mother insisted to make me take fashion classes and my father, mechanic classes. I decided to follow martial arts classes by myself.”
“To prove you know what is fashion, she said. I want you make me that dress!”
She showed him the model of the dress, who was a bit light.
“I know this is..uh...A different sort of dress, she said. This is to please my husband if you know what i mean.”
“Right..., answered Sunlight. Do you know which color you want it?”
“Red, she said. Red is the color of love and passion and my favorite one after purple...”
Sunlight began to doubt of something, but decided to don’t care for the moment. After the princess brought him all the items he needed for doing the dress, he began to work. He passed nearly two hours on it and showed the final result to Cadence.
“Perfect, she said. Rarity would be proud of such a beautiful night dress!”
“See, told you! Answered Sunlight. But i didn’t come here to bake or making dresses...”
“Right, said Cadence. Let’s continue the visit. You have to see the Lakes of Crystal!!”
She brought him directly to the place and when Sunlight saw it, he was amazed by the purity of the water and the style of the decorations.
“This is beautiful” said the unicorn.
“Indeed, she answered. The legend say if two ponies bathe in it, they will fall in love.”
She pushed him in the water, (Cinder was not in is bag, fortunately) making the unicorn immediately realized what she had in mind; He used the magic of the magic pearl gave by the seaponies to bend a big water hand who caught her before she jumped in.
“Well tried, said Sunlight with a grin. You surprised me but luckily, i had that with me. I don’t know if the legend about this lake is true, but i don’t want to take the risk.”
He got out of the water and released the princess.
“I knew you were trying to force me to fall in love, he told to her. You won’t succeed.”
“Fine, let’s just visit the royal garden...” said the princess of love.
She led him to the royal garden.
“Sweet Celestia!!” said Sunlight when he saw the hundreds of different flowers, all made of crystal.
“This is all thank to our royal Gardener, Mistmane.” she said.
“Mistmane? He asked. You mean, one of the six Pillars?”
Mistmane appeared behind Sunlight.
“This is exact, she said. Princess Cadence named me royal gardener when she discovered i could shape the crystal in flowers. What you see is the result of many years of work.”
“This is truly wonderful, answered Sunlight. You really made a great work, i could almost mistake them for real flowers!”
“I am glad you appreciate their beauty, said the Pillar. Now, if you excuse me, i will take my break...”
She walked away slowly. Cadence led Sunlight to the next destination on the list.
“Here is the Crystal market, she said. You can found products of every sorts from everywhere in Equestria!! If you are interested by some of the products here, go buy them.”
Sunlight saw a collection of plushies of each member of the Mane 6 that he immediately wanted to buy.
“How much for the 6 plushies?” he asked.
“The habitual price is of 200 bits, said the seller. But the friends of the princess Cadence have a reduction of 50%.”
“Well, i am a her special guest, he answered. Does that count?”
He showed to the seller a proof of what he was saying.
“Normal visitors have a reduction of 10%, he answered. But the visitors like you, who are personally invited by the princess herself have a reduction of 40%. That will be for you 120 bits!!”
“Sold!!” said the unicorn, giving him the bits.
He continued his exploration of the market and saw a stand of magic artifacts. The seller was saying they were 100% authentic. Sunlight stopped in front of the shop and saw many varied items.
“Do something interest you?” asked the seller, who was Starswirl himself.
“Wait, said Sunlight, stupefied to see him of his own eyes. What are you doing here, Mr. Starswirl?”
“You see, Sunlight Blaze, he said. I was watching you for a time. Why? Because you triggered my curiosity.”
“Really? He asked, surprised. Is that because of my...uh...special ability?”
“This is the main reason indeed, answered the magician. Not only that, but you also, like me and Twilight, want to learn more about friendship. I also see you have many artifacts with you...”
“They are gifts, he said. This one was gave to me by the queen of the phoenixes. It gave me the ability of flight when activated. I also received this pearl from the queen Novo, who gave me the abilities to turn into a sea pony and enhanced water bending.”
“They are indeed powerful and useful artifacts, he said. Especially the talisman. But i think you will need more than that if you want to rival the power of future powerful enemies”
He put in front of Sunlight 3 artifacts: A pair of metal bracelets, a mask and a pair of gloves . He present first the two bracelets.
“These bracelets were made by two very talented blacksmith a long time ago, he said. One of them was a dragon, who forged the bracelets and the other one, an unicorn who infused magic in it. The result created an artifact who will give to the one wearing it a total immunity against fire and a huge increase of his fire powers.”
“Cool” said Sunlight.
The old unicorn then took the second artifact.
“This mask is an artifact who belonged to a hero from the past, he said. According to the legends, it gave to him the ability to see trough illusions and show the truth”
Starswirl took the last artifact, a pair of gloves
“These gloves will enhance the power of your magic, he said. They also are fitting with your costume”
“Wow, Said Sunlight. I’ll definitively need them!!”
“So, you told me you are interested in buying them?” asked the old unicorn.
“Sure i am!!” answered Sunlight.
“In that case, said Starswirl. How much do you have on you?”
“Almost 900 bits, said Sunlight. Why?”
“Give me 800 bits and they are yours!” he said
Sunlight accepted the deal and paid. He then said goodbye to him and joined Cadance. This one saw the plushies he bought and smiled.
“Don’t judge me, i am still a huge fan of the Mane 6” he said.
“Now, i will make you visit the most beautiful place of the kingdom, she said. This is in the castle.”
“Is this the bathroom? Asked the unicorn. Because i heard royal bathrooms are the most beautiful of all!”
She didn't answer and continued to walk. They entered in the castle a second time but this time, they were heading for a different room.
“This is the room of Flurry Heart, she said. You will love her when you’ll see her...”
Cadence opened the door and let Sunlight enter. Flurry Heart immediately stopped playing with her toys and flew in the arms of her mother.
“Look at her, she said, can you resist to that face? She is so cute...”
“Why her wings are so...huge? He asked. is this normal?”
“Well, this is because she was born alicorn” answered Cadence.
Flurry Heart flew around Sunlight and landed on his face. He tried to remove her, but she resisted.
“How can a baby be so strong?! He said, panicked. She is literally stuck in my face!!”
Cinder immediately came to his rescue and flew around him and Flurry. The baby’s attention changed from Sunlight to the phoenix, of which the bright colors triggered her curiosity. Sunlight took a long breath.
“Thank you, Cinder!! Said the unicorn. I can finally breathe!!”
He looked around and saw that the princess was gone, he immediately thought she was preparing something.
“She already tried a charm spell on me, then push me in a lake maybe filled with love magic. What she could possibly do next?” he asked to himself.
He immediately regretted asking that question, because he suddenly remembered the meal he prepared and the dress he made sooner and realized what that meant.
“Please tell me she is not going to get to that point, he said to himself. I know she have love at heart and his her mojo, but she need to slow down.”
Cadence grabbed him with her magic and brought him in her room. She was wearing the dress and the meal he made was also near to the bed. She immobilized his legs with magical chains.
“You are incredibly stubborn, you know, she said. You have resisted all the day to my attempts to make you fall in love. You have a strong mind, but i can break you, i will break you!! by using the most powerful weapon of a lady: her charm and her body.”
“Wait, did you forgot you have a husband?!” said Sunlight, panicked and resisting to the sensual dance of Cadence.
She ignored what he said and decided now to came closer of him.
“Oh, and screw it!! Thought Sunlight. There is only one way i can stop it!!”
He took a breath.
“I am sorry, Princess Cadence” said the unicorn.
“What? Sorry? For what?” she asked, confused.
“Of my attitude toward you this morning and the rest of the day, he answered. I shouldn’t have provoked you like i did, i admit what i said hurt your feelings.”
“Really? She said. I...”
“I am sorry if my attitude forced you to take these means, he said. I am the one who lead you to madness. I shouldn’t have been so rude and petty toward you.”
“I...” try to said Cadence, more confused.
“The truth is i have no problem with love, i understand it’s importance. But all the day, you tried to force me to fall in love first with another mare, then after, you. This is why i resisted, because you forced me to feel love, but love can’t be forced, you should knew that more than anyone else as the princess of love. If i fall in love one day, then i will fall in love, true love is natural, like the one between you and Shining Armor.”
She released him and suddenly felt ashamed.
“I am sorry, she said. For everything i did to you. My attitude was unworthy of a princess of love. I should have respected your opinion on love, but instead, i just wanted to change it. Thank you for remembering me that love need to came from our own heart. I ruined your day, you didn’t learnt nothing at all”
“You are wrong, he said. I learned today that rejecting someone being harassing is not the right solution. I saw you were going mad, and i think if i had told you that you were wrong the sooner possible, we could have both passed a good day.”
Cadence disappeared for a minute then reappeared with a little box.
“This is the least i can do for you to apologize, she said. Please accept this as a gift of forgiveness.”
She opened the box and Sunlight saw that the item inside was a mirror.
“This mirror is magic, she said. You can ask any question to it and it will give you the answer and reveal the truth. But you can ask only 3 questions to it in your whole life, so choose them carefully.”
“Thank you, Princess, he said. But now, i have to return to Ponyville. Starlight is certainly waiting for me!!”
“Hum, Didn’t you have a phoenix at your sides earlier?” she asked.
“I forgot about this!! Said Sunlight. I hope she is fine!!”
The two ponies entered in the baby room and saw Flurry Heart asleep. Cinder was exhausted but when she saw her master, she immediately rejoined him. Sunlight said goodbye a last time to Cadence and Flurry Heart, then disappeared. He reappear at the entrance of the empire where Starlight was waiting. She brought him back to the castle of Friendship and Sunlight explained everything that happened today on a letter that he sent to Twilight. Then when the night came, his attention was focused on the mirror.
“I have to give it a try” he thought.
He took the mirror and thought about a question on something bothering him since he was born
“Okay, he said. Do my parents know something about me that i don’t know?”
The glass teleported Sunlight in a vision of his past he didn’t remember. He saw himself as a baby, abandoned at proximity of Canterlot. He saw two ponies he have been knowing his whole life: his parents. The cold truth hit him in the feelings when he understood that he have been adopted. He came back in the real world, in tears. He wanted to stop now, but he was thinking that if his parents never told him he have been adopted, then maybe they knew other things he didn’t.
“What else did i ignore about my past? Told me!!”
The mirror revealed a vision further in the past. He saw himself in the right arm of her biological mother, but he saw in her left arm another baby, a girl. Sunlight didn’t took long to realize he had a sister. Then he saw them put both of them in beds. The other baby had a darker orange skin, and a bi-colored red and yellow mane. He read a name on the face of the little bed which was his name, then read the name in front of the bed of her sister, a name who was not unfamiliar to him once he realized he knew the pony with that name almost half of his live without even realizing she was his sister. Her name was Sunset Shimmer. He returned in the present and wrote 3 letters: one at the attention of Starlight, the second one, to Twilight and the last one, to his adoptive parents. Then he grab all of is stuff and find the mirror leading to the world where he would find her. Once he jumped trought it, he fell on the ground. It took him 30 long minutes before he was able to stand up and walk correctly, then looked up and saw a school in front of him.
“Wait for me, sis, he thought out loud. Your brother is coming for you...”

Chapter 8: Clarifying the things
Sunlight was actually inside C.H.S, at night. He looked at all the pictures of the students and saw Sunset Shimmer on most of them. That let him with two options: Or she was actually still studying in this school, or she had frequented it and was gone. He walked outside the school without knowing where to go next.
“Hum, i don’t know where she lives, he said to himself. I have to wait until tomorrow to know it, or...”
He took his mirror with the intention of asking where she was living, but was struck by a thought.
“Wait, even if i find her and where she lives, he thought. Will she believe me if i told her i am her lost brother? Now that i think about it, i acted a bit to excited. I have to return to Equestria, I know for sure somepony who could help me reach her instead.”
Sunlight returned in the direction of the portal and jumped in it, reappearing in one of the chambers of the castle of Friendship.
“Now, all i have to do is to wait until the morning to talk with Starlight, who will told it to Twilight. Then i will have a talk with my parents and finally, use Twilight or Starlight to reach Sunset Shimmer and reveal to her she have a brother. Not hard at all!”
He couldn't find sleep, so he head to the castle library and decided to learn new elemental magic spells. He immediately thought of his obvious weakness to cold and water.
“Learning thunder and ice magic can't be so hard, he thought. I will first try to learn the bases.”
He passed all the night on trying to casr ice and thunder spell. All these efforts at least made him able to cast a basic lightning from his horn, and a snowball. When the morning came, he was aslept until Starlight woke him up.
“Hey, Sunlight! She said. Wake up!! You will be late for school!!”
He didn’t woke up immediately, so she casted on him a spell who suppressed his fatigue. He woke up immediately.
“I am awake!! He said out loud. Oh, hi, Starlight, i have something to tell you, something Twilight also have to know. That concern me.”
“Go, i am listening” she said.
“Yesterday, he explained. Cadence gave me that mirror, telling me it could reveal the answer to 3 questions of my choices.”
He showed her the mirror, that she analyzed. She realized Sunlight was telling the truth about the artifact. She told Sunlight to continue.
“So, first, he said, i asked if it knew something i didn’t knew about my past. It showed me that i have been adopted!”
“Ouch, she said. Poor you.”
“But this is not the most shocking, he said. I learned my true parents abandoned me a during the first days following my birth. Then, cherry on the cake, the mirror show me that i had a sister who was also, like me, adopted by another family. Her name is Sunset Shimmer, my childhood friend at the school of magic, one of Twilight best friends, old pupil of Celestia and also your friend.”
Starlight mind was blown. She immediately teleported him and herself at Canterlot, in the royal castle, in the royal room. Twilight was surprised to saw her and Sunlight so soon and during her breakfast.
“What are you two doing here?” she asked.
“This is for something concerning Sunlight, answered Starlight. Something that will shock you too!”
“Told me so, Starlight!” said the princess.
“Sunlight learned yesterday from a magic mirror, who can reveal the answer to any question, gave by Cadence, she said. He have a sister, from which he was separated at the birth. I didn’t believe him when i told me what her name was Sunset Shimmer!”
Twilight spited the apple cider she was drinking, shocked by the revelation.
“Sunset Shimmer? She said. You mean, my friend from C.H.S?! She is Sunlight’s sister?!”
“Yes, answered Sunlight. I know this is crazy, especially when this is from a magic mirror i got the revelation, but this is true.”
Twilight took a few minutes to calm down and then continued to talk.
“I know you can’t lie, she said. I believe you, you look a lot like her now that i am thinking about it. You have the same-looking mane and spark of fire in your eyes”
“I need your help to join her, he asked. If i told her directly, she is not gonna believe me, but if you and Starlight told her the story, she will listen. Please, can you do that for me?”
“Spike, she said, bring me the journal.”
“Immediately, Twilight” he said.
Spike took a few minutes to find the book and then brought him to Twilight. She wrote at the intention of Sunset to came back to Equestria immediately, telling that was very important.
“That’s done, she said. Now, we will have to wait she read it and come.”
“Please bring me here directly when she will arrive, he asked to Twilight. I have another thing to do before.”
“Count on me!! She answered. See ya later!!!”
Starlight and Sunlight walked together outside the castle. Sunlight told her that he have to left the school of friendship so he could be with his sister.
“I am sad to see you leave from the second time, she said. But i understand that your family matter more than me or your friends. So i will announce to them you will be gone for a while and remove your name from the student list until you come back.”
“Thank you, Starlight, to understand it, he said. I know my friends will be sad, but my sister is more important, she need me. And thank you for anything you have done for me”
They hugged, then Starlight disappeared, because she had a school to run. Sunlight headed to his parents house. They were happy to see him again. But when he told them i knew he was adopted, they hugged him and apologized for hiding it to him. Then when he told them he had a sister, they answered that they didn’t knew it, that they found him alone.
“I forgave you, said Sunlight, after they explained to him why they didn’t told him sooner. That made me the stallion i am today and i couldn’t have done anything i did during my life if i knew that.”
“This is funny you said that, said his father, because we were going to reveal that to you today...”
Sunlight facehooved himself for wasting a question yesterday when he could have got the answer the next day. His parents hugged him again and Sunlight told them he was loving them even if they were not his true parents. Then he left the house, followed like always by his pet to head toward the castle again. He was suddenly teleported and knew what that was meaning.
[During the time Sunlight was with his parents,In the world of E.G]
Sunset Shimmer, like every morning, woke up and jumped off of her bed. She took a long shower, then brushed her teeth and dressed up for school. (she took almost an hour in total) She then noticed that the book she was using to communicate with Twilight was vibrating and opened it. She read the message telling to come immediately to Canterlot and in less than a second, She immediately head to the portal and passed trough it. She found herself in a room of the castle of Friendship but got out of the castle as fast as she could to head to the school of friendship and asked Starlight to teleport her to Canterlot. She found her in her office and the two greeted each other with a hug.
“I need you to bring me to Canterlot, she told to her. Don’t ask questions, Twilight want to see me immediately!”
She teleported her in the royal castle of Twilight.
“Hi, Twilight, she said. I came as soon as i read your message. What is the problem?”
“I have something to told you, a revelation, she answered. You can enter, Sunlight!!”
Sunlight entered in the royal room and when he saw her Sister, his heart started to beat faster. Sunset recognized him as her friend at the school of magic when she was a filly.
“I know you, she said. You were my friend when i was young!!! Sunlight Blaze, am i right?”
“Yes, he answered. But, how to tell you that...”
Twilight then revealed her that Sunlight and her were related as siblings, separated at the birth and raised in different families.
“He is my...WHAT?! She yelled, surprised. You mean, i had a brother all this time and i didn’t knew it?”
“You took it really well, said Sunlight. Me, i was petrified and in state of shock.”
“I know this is hard to believe, said Twilight. But i am telling the truth.”
“I have one way to know if it is the truth” she said.
She used her magic power to read Sunlight’s memory of yesterday.
“Give me that mirror” she then said.
Sunlight obeyed without saying anything. She used her power on it to see what was it’s nature and origin and discover that the mirror had effectively the power to reveal hidden secrets about anything and anyone
“You are really my brother, she said to him. I thought i had no family outside my adoptive one and my friends.”
“I though it to, he said. Just knowing we were so close from each other without realizing that we were siblings, this is something frustrating but also funny.”
“The question is why our parents, our true parents, abandoned us, she said. Can you use the mirror to ask where our parents are right now?”
“I don’t know, he answered. If a parent abandon is children, that mean only two things: Or we were not desired and didn’t want to raise us because of that, or they abandoned us because they wanted to save us from something. But i both of the case, something tell me we don’t want to find them.”
“In the first case, If you were not wanted by them, you and Sunset, said Twilight, retrieve them is a bad idea. In the second case, your parents are dead.”
“Only one way to know, said Sunlight. Mirror, show me where are our parents right now!!”
The mirror showed in 3D vision the place where they were. They saw a graveyard and they knew that was not a good sign. The image changed and showed a tombstone where a name was wrote, the name of their father. Then the mirror showed another tombstone with the name of their mother. The mirror shattered in pieces and turned to dust. The 3 ponies were silent. Sunset knew they she would never had answers.
“I am sorry, Sunset Shimmer, said the princess. I am also sorry for you too, Sunlight.”
Sunlight and her gave a hug to Sunset.
“I think i will return home, said Sunset. I will try to live with the fact that my true parents are probably dead, without even knowing why they abandoned me.”
Sunlight teleported in front of Sunset to stop her.
“Hey, i am here, he said. I am sad too. You...We don’t have parents, but we have each other and have your friends.”
Sunset looked at his brother with a smile, she knew he was right. She didn’t have parents, but she had a brother now, and her friends from C.H.S. They were her real family.
“But before you return to your world, i have to pick some stuff i let at the castle of friendship, i want to go with you, if you are okay with that”
“Sure, she said. We have so much to told to each other...”
She and Sunlight were transported by Twilight to Ponyville, in face of the castle. Sunlight opened the doors and head in direction of his chamber. His pet immediately came to see him.
“Wait, is this a phoenix?” she asked.
“Yep, he answered. She is my pet, this is a gift from Twilight and Celestia.”
He showed her his room, full of posters, toys and plushies of the Mane 6. He explained to her how his childhood have been inspired by them. He also told her about his life with his adoptive parents and how great that was for him.
“You are lucky, she answered. You family loved you. My family was horrible, forcing me to be better, using violence to do it or mind manipulation. They were proud of me only when i had good grades. They never supported me, i hated them, this is why i never wanted to came back with them....When i left Equestria”
Sunlight took all of his stuff with him, including the artifacts and the posters.
“The only reasons i didn’t sink in this madness sooner was because of you, Sunlight. You were my only friend when i was young. But then one day, you were gone and i was alone.”
“I didn’t choose to leave, he said. My parents just wanted to make me focus on other things than magic. I am sorry if i let you alone. If only i could have stayed with you...I would have”
“But what happened made me and you what we are today, she said. The fate wanted that to happen to us”
“Not the fate, said Sunlight. I think that was destiny!”
He walked out of his chamber and Sunset followed him to the room where the magic portal was and they crossed it together.

Chapter 9: Discussion between siblings
Sunset Shimmer had invited Sunlight in her chamber so he and her could talk to each and learn more of each other. Sunlight began, sit on a chair to talk.
“I was raised in Canterlot, he said. My parents were member of the high society and they were rich, they had no difficulty to find for me the best schools. I attempted first the school of magic when Celestia discovered that i was special. But that was short lived when my parents wanted me to make other things than magic.”
He took a pause of 1 minute, then continue
“They wanted...i mean, my father wanted me to learn sciences and enrolled me in mechanic and technology classes, which were very interesting. Then, my mother wanted me to learn the fashion and enroll me in designs and sewing classes, that was not so bad and when i learned that Rarity, one of my idols, was a fashionista, i really gave my 100%. Then, i chose in the same time to take art martial lessons in karate and judo. But in secret, i was still learning magic, that passion never died. Then i persuaded my parents to send me at the school of Friendship. I stayed here for a long time, until a crazy pegasi named Cozy Glow tried to steal the magic of Equestria. Worried for me, my parents take me out of the school and for the next years, i decided to take cooking classes to pass the time. Until i get old enough to leave them. So my first thought was to attempt again the school of Friendship and i made a lot of cool friends. I spent one week here, but that was the most beautiful week of my life. Then i received the mirror from Cadence as a gift and you know what came next.”
“Wow, she said. Lucky you, my life was not easy as your one. First, my parents were harsh and demanding, they exploited my gift for magic for their own gain. When Celestia told them i could became a princess one day, they immediately sent me to her school. They were always putting pressure on me and more the time passed, the more my anger and hatred toward them grew, So, i had enough, i wanted to punish them for what they did and for that, i had to became a princess. But Celestia saw the hate and the anger in my heart, and how they were affecting my mind and thoughts. So one fateful night, she surprised me trying to cheat and was deceived. She sent my in this world, hoping i would one day, come back to her changed. But this is not what happened, instead of becoming good, i followed a path of darkness, and soon became the Big Meanie of C.H.S, during 3 long years. I knew the portal would open again and i had prepared a plan to take my revenge on Celestia and my parents. But you know what happened next, if you followed all of Twilight’s adventures...”
“I didn’t knew that, he said. I knew about the crown being stolen, but not what happened next”
“Really, she asked? So, i suppose i will have to explain it to you. She followed me in this world for mission to take the crown back. I was supposed to get the crown directly but Fluttershy gave it to principal Celestia, who decided to gave it to the girl who will be elected Princess of the Fall Formal. I made sure to make everyone vote for me, but then Twilight arrived and also decided to run for the title of princess. I used horrible means to prevent her from winning the crown, but none of them worked and she finally won at the end. I decided to go radical to get it and after a little battle. I got the crown, but it corrupted me, transforming me in a raging she-demon who enslaved the students of the school. But Twilight, with the help of her friends in this world, also incarnating the 5 elements of harmony, beat me. After that, i redeemed myself when i saved the school from 3 mythological creatures from Equestria called the Sirens.”
“Wait, he said. You mean you and your friends faced them in your school? I heard their legend and that they were terrifying, and you defeated them?! You are awesome!!”
The compliment made her blush. She continued by telling him what happened next: Crystal PREP and Midnight Sparkle, Camp Everfree and Gaia Everfree, Juniper Montage, Wallflower Blush and the Memory Stone, Equestria Land and Vignette Valencia, The Cruise and the Storm King magic and finally Starswirl Festival and Post-Crush.

“Guess the fate decided that we would live the ideal lives of each other, she answered. Now that we talked about our past, let’s talk about us.”
Sunlight show to Sunset the relics he bought from Starswirl.
“Like you, i have a gift for magic, he said. But not any sort of gift. I discovered that my body is bounded with the fire element.”
“What? She asked. Bounded with fire? What does that mean?”
“I should show you instead, he answered. Do you know where i can find a source of fire or heat somewhere?”
“Hum, i have the kit to start a fire, she answered. Follow me.”
She brought him outside and used a pile of wood to start a fire. Sunlight told her to stay away and at her total surprise, walk ed in the fire.
“What are you doing?! Are you crazy!!?” she yelled.
But then, she saw his body absorbing the fire in less than a second. That let her stupefied.
“You...You just absorbed the fire..., she said. What the hay?!”
“I do, he said. Fire is the source of my energy.”
They then returned in Sunset’s chamber and during the way, Sunlight explained everything about his special ability, including the good and bad sides. When he had finished, he asked to Sunset a place where he could stay.
“Well, I know one place where you could live, she answered. One of my friends want a roommate, the advantage is you will have to paid half of the rent and him, the rest. Do you have money on you?”
“My parents gave me 10 000 bits, he said. But i doubt your world use that monetary device...”
“Hum, Bits are made of gold, no?” she asked.
“Yes” he answered.

“Well well, he said. Sunset Shimmer! I Didn’t forgot what you did to me last time we saw each other. But you know what, you saved me from an economic disaster!! I instead decided to built my Spa Center somewhere else.”
“I imagine that after the Gaia Everfree event, no one would have come to you spa anyway.” she said.
“Not only that, but that would have gave a bad reputation to me, said the investor. I realized that your camp was too important emotionally for the town. This is why i bought instead a spa already in bankruptcy and changed his name. But let’s talk about something else. So, what can i do for you, Miss Shimmer?”
“This is for my brother, she said. He is a treasure hunter and found a lot of gold in his last adventure”
“We talk of how much gold?” he asked.
“How about 500 kg of pure gold?” said Sunlight, who knew exactly how to deal with investors, thank to his father’s lessons

“Follow me, he said, First, we will begin by opening you an account, then, my employees will convert the value of your gold on the most profitable currency, then the money will be added to your account”
The owner of the bank led Sunlight to his office and told to one of his employees to open an account at the name of Sunlight Blaze. When that was done, Rich brought Sunlight to is underground gold vault.
“Now, show me that gold” he asked.
Sunlight told to the purse he wanted 5000 bits and soon after, the 5000 pieces of gold fell on the floor in front of Filthy’s stupefied face.
“Don’t ask, said the young man. You wanted the proof, so there it is...”
Filthy called his financial agents and told them to immediately begin the procedures.
“Now, that will take a few minutes, he said. Let’s return to my office.”
The two siblings headed to his office and waited patiently. 15 minutes later, one of the employees called Mr. Rich to tell him that the money had been transfer to his account. Before Sunlight left, Rich gave him 1000$ in liquid (from Sunlight account) Then the code to access to his account and his own credit card.
“That was a pleasure to make affairs with you, Mr. Blaze, said Filthy Rich. Know your money his in good hands! And just so you know, you have actually 25 millions$ in your account. And with the fluctuation of the gold value, it could get higher!”
The two siblings left the building and returned in direction of Sunset’s apartment.
“So, now that i have the money, asked Sunlight. Where is the place you told me about?”
20 minutes later, she knocked on the door of someone. The door opened and a guy with blue hair welcomed them.
“Ho, hi Sunset, said the guy. What bring you here?”
“Hi, Flash, she said. You know, when you told you wanted a roommate, well, there he is! Wait, why are you not at school today?”
“Hum, well, you see, today i was not feeling so good, he answered. So, i decided to not going in classes”
“Whatever, this is my brother, Sunlight Blaze. Sunlight, this is the friend i talked about, Flash Sentry”
“So, you are her brother! He said. I didn’t know you have one, Sunset.”
“Long story, she answered. So, do you have a roommate yet?”
“Nah, answered Flash, Your brother is welcome, if he have the money to pay the your 500$ rent.”
Sunlight showed the money to him.
“Good, he said. So just gave it to uh...The owners of the place.”
The owners in questions were his parents, to who Flash presented Sunlight. They explained to him the conditions and the rules. At the end, They each gave 500$ to them.
“Now that you have a room, said Sunset, I want to present you to my friends. You will love them!!”
She took him by the arm and ran in direction of the school where her friends were certainly waiting for her.
"Faster Sunlight!! she said to her brother out loud. Last to the school is a loser!!"
"Why we don't take your car, instead?!" he asked.

*Sunlight ability is to absorb Fire AND heat in the same time. If fire touch him, his body will absorb its heat and then assimilate the fire itself. This is why he is vulnerable to cold and ice, who are the opposites of heat and fire.*

Chapter 10: Sunlight and the mane 7
2 days had passed and Sunlight had met the mane 6 of the human world. They were surprised and happy for Sunset Shimmer that she found her long lost brother and when Sunlight presented himself, the group loved him instantly. Sunlight mentioned his talent for fashion (Rarity), martial art (Rainbow Dash, cause i suppose she know some of them), manual work (like Applejack), engineering and technology (like Twilight), cooking (like Pinkie Pie) and that his pet was a phoenix (Which Fluttershy immediately fell in love with). He revealed he had admiration for them and what he was was a combination of each of them. Then later in the first day, Sunlight used immediately his money to make some expensive shopping. He wanted to get the most recent and advanced products on the market. He purchased tons of electronic material, tons of tissues, tons of cool gadgets. His last expense would be a pair of rocket boots. He was told he would receive them in two days. And now today was the day his rocket boots would be delivered.
“They said 3 days, said Sunlight. And the third day is today!!”
He was waiting in front of Flash’s parents house. The delivery truck arrived and two guy brought the big box to him.
“Are you Sunlight Blaze?” asked one of them.
“Yes” he answered.
“Sign here and here” told the second guy to him.
Sunlight signed and took the package to his room and opened it immediately. He took the Rocket boots and put them on
“Wow, now, let's try them!! He said. Their colors are perfect and their design too.”
He waited until the school was over and invited the girls to join him at a abandoned facility. They arrived with a lot of question on why he wanted them to be here. Sunlight showed himself in his costume made by Rarity and told them about the rocket boots (For some reasons, when he crossed the portal, the costume magically change to fit to the body of an human)
“Oh my star, Darling!! Said Rarity. This costume is amazing! Who did it?"
“You, answered Sunlight. The pony you"
"I knew it, she said. I am so talented, even in another dimension!"
"She told me that it was enhanced with magical protection spells, but not what were their effect. So, i will need you to test these new functionalities."
Twilight took a notebook and a pencil.
“First test!! Resistance to cold!! Said Sunset. What is the coldest source of temperature in our world?"
"The Absolute Zero" answered Twilight.
"But where we can find something that cold?” asked Sunset.
Pinkie Pie verified in her hairs and pulled out a gun.
“With that, she said. This is a cryogenic gun i found in one of my adventures in another dimension. Let’s put it at the Absolute Zero!”
“Wait, what?!! Said Sunlight, scared. No, don’t! What if!!!”
She shot on Sunlight a ray of ice which ice him solid. At his surprise, he resisted very well and broke the shell of ice.
“Ice resistance, checked!! Said Twilight. Your costume can indeed resist to the coldest temperature known to humans”
“Next is to see if you costume is bulletproof!! Said Sunset. Rainbow Dash, can you get a gun for me?”
She obeyed and came back 5 seconds later with a gun. She gave it to Sunset who shot at Sunlight. The bullets were deflected
“The costume is bulletproof, she said. You can put a check on it”
Twilight and the other were shocked
"What?" asked Sunset.
"Nothing, said Twilight. Let's pass to the next test.
Rainbow Dash brought back the two friends to the factory.
“The second test was a success” said Rainbow Dash
“Now, shock absorption, said Sunset. A.J, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, hit the harder you can on his costume!”
The 3 girls obeyed to that demand. Rainbow Dash hit him with objects threw at high speed, Applejack was punching him and Pinkie Pie was using her explosives cupcakes. After 30 minutes of being hit by all sort of objects without any problem, Sunlight decided to push it further and asked Rainbow Dash and Applejack to combine their powers on him. They obeyed with a certain hesitation.
“Are you ready, Applejack?” asked Rainbow to her friend.
“I am, she answered. And you?”
“Sure i am!! She answered. Let’s do this!!”
Rainbow Dash started to run at high velocity, holding Applejack by the two arms. She threw her at 50 meters of Sunlight in his direction. Applejack focused her magic strength into her knuckles, to made them as hard as steel. Sunlight didn't move out and waited for the impact. The punch of Applejack hit him with such power that the poor guy was projected violently so far he destroyed half of the factory and made a one kilometer long furrow in the ground.
“Holy fucking shit!! Said Sunset. You killed him!! You killed my brother!!”
Rainbow Dash followed the furrow and found Sunlight unconscious, but without any damages to his body. She brought him back to the factory and woke him by slapping him in the face for two minutes.
“Are you okay? Asked Sunset. Do you have something broken?!”
“Nope, i am okay, i think, he answered. The shock was very powerful, but my costume absorbed almost all of it.”
He get on his legs and yell of pain, causing Sunset to scream of surprise.
“Oh shit, he said. I think you broke some of my ribs, he he he. But at least, i am not dead!”
“We need to bring you at a hospital” said Rarity.
“Not necessary” said Sunlight.
Cinder immediately came helping his master. She used fire to heal Sunlight’s wounds and soon, he was completely healed.
“This is why i bring her everywhere with me, he said. Thank you, Cinder.”
Sunset hugged him.
“Don’t do that again!!” she said to him, furious and still a little bit shocked.
“I calculated the power of the shock, said Twilight. You took a hit equivalent to the power of a spaceship entering in the atmosphere!! You survived a mach 40 impact!!!”
“But i don’t run that fast, said Rainbow Dash. My top speed his mach 4!I know, i calculated”
“Exactly, she said. But Applejack’s punch was 10 time stronger to her normal one thanks to her super strength.”
“How did you calculated that?” Asked Sunset.
“My drone is equipped with a hi-tech slow motion camera, she answered. Then it calculated everything from Rainbow Dash’s speed to applejack punches power. And they gave me this result”
“Okay, let’s continue the tests” said Sunlight.
“No!! Said Sunset. No more test. I don’t want to see you hurt again.”
“You forgot Cinder can heal me if i got hurt, he said to her. I want to see what else my costume have”
“This is not the problem, she said. I just don't support to see yourself got hurt, i don’t want to lose you again because of a stupid test!”
“Okay, i will stop hurting myself, he said. But at least let me try my rocket boots!!”
The boots activated and Sunlight was projected in the airs. He pass two long minutes flying, out of control. Then he shutted them down and fell on the ground violently.
“Maybe the boots were not a good idea, he said. I think i will have to learn how to use them, He he. Let’s just get home...”
He returned in the chamber he rented but before, he passed in front of his roommate chamber and saw him playing O&O with his friends ( Derpy, Micro Chips and Sandal Wood)
“Hey, Sunlight, said Flash, do you want to join us? We need one more player in our game!”
“I don’t know, he said. I am a little bit exhausted...Maybe another day!"
The 4 students begged him to play, and Sunlight couldn't resist for long.
“Let me just put my stuff in my room and i join you” he said.
When that was done, Sunlight joined the group.
“So, i will resume the story, said Flash. My hero is a powerful level 20 warrior, he said. A master of swords and close combat. He possess a magical sword gave by his father.”
“Mine is an alchemist of level 24, said Micro Chips. He is an excellent denier and a great supporter in the battles.”
“My hero is a skilled elvish archer of level 26, said Sandal Wood. He possess a magic bow who never misses his target.”
“Hum, let me guess, you guys need a magician in your team?” said Sunlight
He showed them his character sheet to the group.
“My hero have two classes, he said to them. He his a Pyromancer and an Elementalist. He possess 3 powerful relics: The Phoenix Talisman, who can give him the flight ability, the Dragon Gauntlets, who give him the speed and strength of a dragon and a pair of goggles that allow him to see beyond illusions”
“Well, we need a magician, said Micro Chip, but not as a hero. We need an antagonist in our game, and your character is perfect for that role.”
“You want me to play as a bad guy? He asked. No thanks, I hate the villains and i won’t play one.”
“This is just a game, said Flash, not the real life. Your character won’t be the main villain, just one of his second in chief, his Right hand man, to be exact. He can keep his artifacts and his powers but you need to have at least 3 bad guy characteristics”
Sunlight left the room without saying a word.
“Where are you going?” asked Flash.
“See my sister, he answered. I want to play your game, but not as a villain. I am sure you will find another person who love playing the bad guys. Sunlight's Out!!!”
He locked his room after he took a few things. He then walked in direction of Sunset’s apartment. He knocked at her door and she slightly open to him. She had blush in her face and was looking exhausted.
“Oh, hey brother!!, she said. What bring you here? I was thinking you would play with your stuff or something.”
“I was thinking i could spent the evening with you, he said, suspecting something. Hum, except if you planned something else?”
“Well, i am, kinda occupied right now, she said. I can’t let you enter in my room for the moment, you know, girls need to be alone sometimes. I am sure you understand...”
“I understand, he said. Well, goodnight!! If you search for me, i will be training to fly!!! Sunlight's Off!!”
He ran to a window in the hallway leading to the outside and opened it.
“What are you...Oh, heck no!! She said loud. You realize you are on the last floor, right?!”
“Yes, he said. Time to make a superhero exit!!!”
“Sunlight, wait!! You don’t have your costume!!” she yelled.
That was too late. Sunlight jumped off the window. She heard a scream followed by a complete silence.
“SUNLIGHT!!!!” she yelled, terrorized.

“Wait! She said. You can stay with me for the rest of the evening if you want!!”
“You were not supposed to pass the evening alone, like you said?” he asked.

They passed the rest of the evening playing video games and then, Sunset fell asleep. Sunlight shutted off the console, the lights and let her in her bed. Then, he left.
