The land of Equestria. Different from our world and any world known or unknown. The oceans are clean, the air is fresh, and the landscapes are a sight to behold. The land is vast with hills and plains, large mountains that tower over everything, and thick forests were many creatures inhabit. Equestria is inhabited by a race of mystic equine-human hybrids known as ‘Equestrians’. They may look human, but they bear their pony traits with their ears, wings, horns. The Equestrian society all made up of 3 tribes. The ‘Pegasi-born’ who have the ability to fly and control the weather. The ‘Unicorn-born’ who masters the mystic arts and spells. And the ‘Earth-born’ who does not possess the abilities that their other fellow tribes do, but their strength and endless stamina was unmatched by both. There is also a fourth tribe who remains hidden from Equestria, they are called the ‘Thestral-born’. They possess the same traits as the Pegasi-born, but they resemble a more bat-like feature than the Equestrians.

But that’s not the only thing. Equestria is also home to 4 powerful ‘Alicorn-born’ princesses, who possess all the abilities and traits of all 3 tribes; the flight of an Pegasi-born, the strength and stamina of an Earth-born, and the magic of an Unicorn-born. Also they even possess something that no other Equestrian can reach; immortality. While it’s known in history that only kings or queens can have the power to rule, but in Equestria’s history its nothing like that. Mostly cause the kings and queens that Equestria had witnessed in the past, were either tyrants, dictators, or corrupted.

Each of these Alicorn-born, were depicted as royalty of Equestria, each with their own respective roles in of Equestria. The first two of the Alicorn-born rules the entire land, the third rules the frozen north, and the fourth lives among the citizens. The first two Alicorn-born that rule the land, are sisters who reside in the castle that is located in the heart of Equestria; Canterlot. The oldest sister possess the power to raise the sun to begin the day, and the youngest possess the power to raise the moon to begin the night. Thus the two ruled together in harmony and maintain the balance between sun and moon for a millenium. The third Alicorn-born rules over a great kingdoms that resides in the frozen north of Equestria; the Crystal Empire. Inhabited by another race of Equestrians, the Crystal-born who have similar traits of an Earth-born, but they had a more gradient shine in their traits, which is almost crystal-like.

And as for the fourth Alicorn-born, she lives in a marvelous palace next to a small, peaceful town called Ponyville. Her name is Twilight ‘Arcadia’ Sparkle. But she didn’t start out as royalty in the beginning. Years ago, she was once a Unicorn-born who’s talent in magic and other types of spells were unmatched by others. With exceptional leadership skills that no one could comprehend. Which lead to her ascension to becoming the fourth Alicorn-born in Equestria. And earned a fitting title, which does sound foolish; the Princess of Friendship. Why is she called that, well the title states that it's her duty to spread the aspect of friendship and unity across the world, bringing everyone together in harmony. And did she succeed, you ask. Yes she did, in more ways than you expected.

But she did not do it alone, no. Along her journey, she is aided by other 5 Equestrians from Ponyville who she had the pride and gratitude to call them her friends. They consist of 2 Earth-born: Applejack and Pinkie Pie, 1 Unicorn-born: Rarity, and 2 Pegasi-born: Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. And together, these group of mares have wielded Equestria’s most powerful artifacts of all its time, the “Elements of Harmony”. And Each mare has wielded and embody each of the 6 elements that represent Harmony itself. Applejack wielded the Element of Honesty, Pinkie wielded the Element of Laughter, Rarity wielded the Element of Generosity, Fluttershy wielded the Element of Kindness, Rainbow Dash wielded the Element of Loyalty, and finally Twilight wielded the Element of Magic.

With the elements, the six of them defeated every foe or dark being that every threatened the land, liberated and restored other kingdoms, and even redeemed several of their enemies. And their greatest achievement of all, is that they united all of the nations of the world. Finally bringing lasting peace to the land of Equestria and all of the other lands beyond. Old rivaleries were ended, greed and proverty had vanished, borders were teared down and gates opened to all. The kingdoms had flourised; trade pacts were established and successful, dipolmatic relationships were managed, and all laid down their military might. United in perfect harmony.

But how long will this peace last? As I like to say; “Without order, there will be chaos. But without chaos, there cannot be order.”. A balance that has existed for thousands and thousands of years, but no one would notice it. The balance is now unstable, and if there cannot be stability to it, then it would correct itself to ensure its restored.

That would mean Twilight and her friends' world would crumble in front of them. And everything that they had done, would be undone in a instant. As a threat looms over the lands of the great nation. Though it’s not a tyrant, not a powerful being, nor a natural disaster. It is a darkness that dwells inside the peaceful inhabitants of Equestria. And now it’s preparing to show itself. And soon the Equestria and the other kingoms will not remain the same. And soon the home that the six heroes had remember, will be divided. Sides will be chosen, armies will be built, loyalties will be questioned and tested. And history will be changed, for all of time.

As a Latin phrase, from an unknown source, stated. “Si vis pacem, para bellum”. Or better translated it in a similar language that all living creatures understand. “If you want peace….

Prepare for war.

Author's Note

Here’s the prologue for the war fiction: The Equestrian Civil War.

Which took me 2 years to finally publish it.

However I got the prologue done. But lucky for me, this story is a part of my school assignment in my writing class, which means I can work on the chapters and publish them during the week.

Isn’t that awesome!

I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, I will prepare chapter one and deliver it on a silver platter, to you.
