Location: United States, California, classified DARPA mountain research facility

Time: 2 days after sunrise

Equestrian Perspectives: none

U.S. Perspectives: head CIA agent Lukas Daugherty, DARPA researcher Tony Fulton

"Alright Dr. Fulton, how far has the research gone?" Asked Head CIA agent Lukas Daugherty, who was sent to the research facility to check upon the progress on the scientific studies of magic.

"Well, research has been rather...difficult, and grisly. Every time we try too dissect the deceased bodies of the ponies, the magic seems to just dissipate and avoid contact, like there's a layer of incompatibility between us and the magic. So we've resorted to mechanical means of dissection, but that's only been a little improvement, because when the robotic arm reaches the body the magic seems to weaken, most likely because of the contact we've had with it." Answered Fulton, taking a sip of his 4th cup of coffee so he could stay awake a while longer.

Daugherty on the other hand looked at the researcher with eyes of understanding, sighing he pulled up a chair and positioned it near Fulton. "Hey look, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was the first Anti matter engine. Don't push yourself overboard, you have more than enough time to do this, so get some sleep my guy."

"But we had help from the United Nations and the funding of an entire planet to complete that project, right now we're on our own, by ourselves on an unfamiliar planet in what is most likely another dimension, and the guys making the anti matter engine didn't have the CIA breathing down their necks. My guy."

"Hey, national security is no joke, and the reason the CIA was established was for the protection of the United State's population from foreign threats, and the Equestrians have the possibility of becoming a major threat. So, we need to learn as much as possible because if they become more hostile than they've already been, we'll know how to combat and cripple them effectively."

"You do know there's the possibility of other kingdom's littering that land mass, right? Look at the GPO platoon in the snow regions who ran into talking yak that said, and I quote, 'you're trespassing on yakistani land,' and don't forget the underwater city that was discovered by the Navy fleet 'Overweight Hamsters!' I mean, at least do the same thing to every kingdom on that land."

"Ah, but here's the problem, all those other kingdom's haven't shown any kind of hostility, and the 'Overweight Hamsters' fleet; God what a great fucking name, are currently working towards diplomatic affairs with this underwater kingdom. So there is, for now, no need." Daugherty than had a thought pass through his mind, "And are those kingdom's capable of magic?"

"Well, I guess you got me there, it is still unknown wether these 'other' kingdom's are of capable magic." Agreeing Fulton yawned and repeated "You got me there." rubbing his eyes the researcher tried to fight the overwhelming tiredness that was currently capturing him, causing Daugherty to take notice.

"Will, keep us informed of how things are going, and again, don't force yourself. Take it slow, get some sleep." Said Daugherty, to which the researcher responded by waving his hand and groaning what seemed to be a good bye. It got a chuckle out of Daugherty.

Walking out of the room and into the hall, Daugherty thought about all the projects and initiatives that the CIA, Air Force, Marines, Army, and Navy would have to declassify because of the sudden change in scenery. So many vehicles were left in the open because of the change, left for all to set their eyes upon. A big paradigm was the CIA's "Dextre Occultare Conatus initiative," which was a project undertaken by the CIA for the requirement of cheaper, better, and more reliable spy aircraft, especially since their baby, the TR6, was repurposed by order of Congress for the Air Force, effectively taking away the CIA's best spy plane. It needed a replacement, which was how the "Dextre Occultare Conatus initiative" was formed.

So a variety of aircraft were designed in secret, and away from the eye of Congress to insure that the CIA wouldn't get its toys taken away. Each aircraft was made to fill a considerable amount of rolls, such as strike, Air Superiority, attack, and of course, aerial reconnaissance. The first aircraft commissioned and declassified were the XSR-9999 "Fazlion," XF-83 "Nerasvindavar," SR-85 and SR-85A "Black Knights." All four aircraft were primarily designed for reconnaissance missions, and took heavy inspiration from the SR-71 Blackbird that was commissioned in the 1960's, which was more than a hundred years ago.

Not long after the SR inspired aircraft were declassified, another batch of aircraft were made public, though the rolls they inhabited were different from the normal reconnaissance missions the CIA took part in, meaning they were capable of allot more. A couple of great examples would be the B-3B "Nightshade," V/A-32 "Dark Hammer," RAH-180 "Libri Sole," F/XPI-91 "Storm Squad," and UCAV-XFP "Dead Strip," though of course there were still aircraft to be declassified, but for now that was it. Each one of those aircraft were different from one another in design philosophy, performance, and intention, though the fact still remained, they were all capable of deploying from airbases anywhere in the United States, and seriously fucking up the day of anyone who's a significant threat to either the United States populace, or the world at large. At least when the United States was still on earth, where it was accompanied by its sister and brother countries.

Though, all the declassified projects that were shown to the public were distractions for them to gawk at and think that was all, but unbeknownst to them another, far more secretive project known to the CIA higher-ups as the "Sundown initiative" was taking place. The project itself was created for the research and use of new stealth and engine technology for covert operations use in air, sea, and space vehicles. Currently the engines undergoing research are Dark Matter engines, EmDrives, Pulse jets, and Ion engines. Two of the vehicles enjoying relative success was the Lockheed Martin RQ-6 "Knight Wing" and AAF "Cariburn," which use a modified Ion engines using modern engineering, and design styling, except design styling because that hasn't changed since the 2010's.

Though of course, the CIA wasn't the only defense agency currently facing a declassification order by Congress, because the Air Force, much like the CIA, was ordered to declassify any black project belonging, or in the same project as the aircraft accidentally seen by the public the day the white light engulfed the United States. The reason for this was because so many aircraft that were being secretly tested in secure locations out of the country were teleported back to the United States, most being transported above the skys of highly populated areas, like Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Washington.

One of the projects that has garnered the most attention was the "Teal Hurricane initiative," which is basically like the ATF program but with a cooler name, there were more or less 5 aircraft under development. The first aircraft declassified was the F/A-322 "Lightning Raptor," the F/A-322 was a hybrid aircraft, mixed race if you will, that combined the best attributes of the F-22 and F-35 fighters, such as the F-35's stellar lifting body and computers, and the F-22's amazing maneuverability and avionics. The reason the F/A-322 was created was because the F/A-22 "spiral 5" needed a high fighter counterpart to protect it while it was doing its air-to-ground operations, especially since the F/A-22 Spiral 5 was mainly designed to assist special forces on the ground, meaning it's hands were full with other tasks and needed a body guard, which is where the F/A-322 comes in.

As Daugherty continued through the hallway, he thought about the possibility of war with the Equestrians, because right now the U.S. populace still had no idea the Equestrian empire and its population existed, and that goes for the rest of the supposed kingdoms that covered that land mass. A war would surely bring their existence into the fold, and that would mean the most recent actions the Equestrians have taken against the Changeling's would be uncovered as well, meaning an obvious uproar against the Equestrians would take place in the United States, because genocide isn't something a countries people ignore, and that's something that the "Zimlip Daseeta Kingdom (ZDK)" would know rather well.

The year was 2071, and the ZDK's government and its people united and tried to start an active genocide against its Islamic population only 4 years after its official recognition as a sovereign nation, the U.N. commissioned the United States, Iran, Germany, and the Zercaen Commonwealth to stop them. Though due to the location of the Zercaen Commonwealth, right next to the ZDK, it was rather easy for the ZDK to invade the country before they actually had time to react, during the invasion the ZDK captured a large amount of civilians and purposely searched for one's that were of Islamic descent and used them for slave labor, and when the slave up and died, the ZDK sent a picture of the dead body to the U.N. Head Quarters. But time catched up with the "Zimlip Daseeta Kingdom," because when the United States, Germany, and Iran arrived only 2 weeks after, they weren't happy, no, they were furious because each country had a large Islamic population (especially Iran), so much so that a good portion of the federal government for each nation was Islamic.

The ensuing war lasted 3 months in total, and the casualties for the ZDK soon scored higher than that of the Zercaenian's for both civilian and military, this was mainly because during the war civilian militia groups who claimed to be "cleansing humanity" when they brutally beat and murdered Islamic civilians and attacked U.S., Iranian, German, and Zercaenian forces got annihilated. Though, considering the technological differences between coalition and ZDK militia forces, especially since the coalition forces had better technology, and the militia only had semi automatic weapons with 2010 era plate carriers, a good ass kicking was to be expected.

With the ZDK's building desperation for victory, their leader, King Quintus Donne V, threatened to launch nuclear warheads at Iran, Zercaen, and Germany, though considering they were in possession of technologically inferior rockets they wouldn't hit either way. But unfortunately that wasn't the case, because 2 months and a week after the conflict started, the ZDK launched 7 nuclear warheads towards Iran, Germany, and Zercaen, 6 were shot down before they could reach their targets, but the 7th hit its mark. The 7th warhead hit one of Zercaens most popular cities, Chilannemoore, and incinerated anything and everything within a 3 mile radius, making that the 8th time a nuclear weapon was used since World War 2.

But that wouldn't be the only superweapon used in that three month period, because a mere 3 weeks later the United States used its Orbital Strike Satellite "Calor Ortu" on the capital of the ZDK, Settven, which housed the Royal Palace that itself held the Royal family. The United States literally offed the king and his family, along with every millionaire, politician, and high ranking general in the city because the king decided to nuke a major city in a neighboring country, and no one knew the United States even had this weapon. Overkill at its finest, but for some foreign reason from beyond the galaxy, the civilian populace for the United States, and many other nations agreed and praised the actions as "heroic, and just."

Though that wasn't the same feeling their governments had, especially since before that event, the United States wasn't seen as powerful as it was like in the 1980's to 2030's and didn't possess the influence and power as its precursor, so the use of a powerful weapon such as the Orbital Strike Satellite was one hell of a surprise. Not long after the United States was ordered by the U.N. to declassify it's military space program, which included the 4 classes of attack satellites. The United States did as told and released all the information for its military space program "Forward Forever," which was aptly named after the Space research and communication base "Forward Forever" that was built in the year 2035, a whole year after World War 3 ended.

After releasing the information to the public, the overall shock by world leaders from other nations was great, no one could think that the United States was able to create these things, let alone do it secretly. But now that didn't matter, because the world was able to set their eyes upon the superweapon that took the life of King Quintus Donne V, along with its counterparts. The first Attack Satellite built was the "Dark Twilight-Class" Particle Beam Satellite, which was purposed for use against nuclear weapon silos, the second satellite built was the "Lunam Fractura-Class" and its older sister the "Sol Ursus-Class" that used light poll size tungsten rods as munitions, the third and final satellite built were the "Aggressus-Class" Heavy particle beam Satellite, which were purposed for destroying entire military installations. Along with the satellites, several other projects were flourishing and being created under the "Forward Forever" program, projects such as the first out of atmosphere fighter aircraft, the "SP-51 "Dark Stallion."

The Dark Stallion was the first of its kind, the first all space based fighter in human history, and it was a great in atmosphere fighter as well, being able to take on and out class any jet fighter the "Tiusmo Dominion" and "United Arus Seyre Empire" could offer. But that wasn't the only project, joining the satellites and fighter jets were the "Kennedy-Class" asteroid mining ships that were equipped with Two Dual-500mm Rail Guns made for orbital bombardment or asteroid crater mining, these ships, much like the TR6 used Antigravity technology. The second ship planned for creation was the "Antagonist-Class" mobile military moon base, which was designed to drill for Helium-3 on the surface of the moon, but for defense measures it was equipped with enough lasers and coil guns to take down entire airplane squadrons from space, which was its intended second purpose. With the declassification of the "Forward Forever" program, every nation that considered itself enemies with the United States realized that that country was no pushover, they realized that the United States was capable of defending itself, and, if the situation called for it, form offensive attacks.

The "So-called" U.S. enemies, which consisted of the "Zimlip Daseeta Kingdom," "Tuismo Dominion," and "United Arus Seyre Empire," went to the U.N. to have the United States weapons confiscated and possibly, destroyed, but it was obvious that these 3 nations wanted these weapons for themselves. Very obvious. But unfortunately, or fortunately, it would be extremely difficult for the U.N. to do such a thing, because the backlash from the public of several countries would be great. So after more than 3 months of thinking later, the U.N. made the decision to allow the United States to have their advanced weapons, but under the condition of only using them when truly needed, and just like when the United States was told to declassify it's projects, they did as told.

Though, that wasn't the only project that the United States had in the works, because there was an assortment of projects for the improvement of existing battle platforms, as well as the creation of new battle platforms and field equipment. Because the United States had a goal, and it was to become the strongest, if not the strongest nation on the face of the earth.

"Hmm, may god help them if they approach with hostility." Said Daugherty to no one in particular, still walking through the halls and closing in on the exit of the facility. Walking out of the facility, he set his eyes upon his transport helicopter, the older brother to the WHA-91 "Screech Owl," the UHA-7 "Uhlwa Owl." the UHA-7 was built and commissioned by the CIA and U.S. Army in a joint project pact in 2081, while the Marines acquired the WHA-91 for its amphibious assault missions in 2083. Despite being relatively new vehicle platforms, it immediately proved itself in the heat of combat as a fast and reliable helicopters for emergency evacuations for wounded civilians and military personnel battling the H.A.T terrorist organization.

Climbing into the helicopter and sitting down, Daugherty thought about the possibility of war with the Equestrians and how it would look like, what weapons would be used, and wether or not research into magic is worth it. "So many questions, so little answers."

Location: Equestria, Baltimare City coast

Time: 2 days after sunrise

Equestrian Perspectives: Discord, Flash Sentry, princess Celestia and Luna, Spike, element bearers, princess Cadance, prince Shining Armor, queen Chrysalis, princess Marcela, Changeling guard Zulu

U.S. Perspectives: Gunnery sergeant Nathan Reeds, Lt. Tristan Summers, WHA-91 pilot Nicholas Diaz, Joshua Richardson, Jeremy Manowar, Army major Christopher Lara, Army lieutenant colonel Owen Cooper

It has been 30 minutes since Celestia and her escort arrived and landed on the beaches of Baltimare, and stared straight into the everlasting sea that was blocked by the United State's massive naval ships. Celestia stood wondering which of the great ships were the ones that overpowered the mighty naval fleet of Frisk Fireflight. Despite her obvious downfalls, Fireflight was still a very capable naval captain, capable of taking on fleets of enemy ships much larger than her own. But her arrogance must have gotten the best of her, because she went head first into a fight against an "enemy" she knew nothing about, only to be bested at her own game.

Before her unfortunate demise, Fireflight was essential in stopping the Griffonians from capturing the small beach town of "North Freyass" that bordered between the Equestrian empire and the Republic of Griffonea. During the 5 day siege, the Griffonians repeatedly pummeled Equestrian guard forces on the ground with massive ballista and catapult fire, which were placed on their equally massive assault ships. 41 guard's lost their lives in the bombardment, but soon after that, the number was raised up to 87 when the Griffin's commenced their land attack and pushed back Equestrian forces, experiencing 0 casualties in the process. When the Royal Guard were fully pushed out of the town, the Griffin's set up defensive positions through the building of barricades, trenches, camouflaged spike pits, and explosive barricades that could be hit with flaming arrows to be ignited and used against incoming forces.

After the 5 days of siege, and 3 days of preparations, the Griffin's turned the once peaceful town of "North Freyass" into a military stronghold to possibly be used as a starting point for an invasion against Equestria. At least that would be the case, if Fireflight and her fleet of 30 strong Equestrian Assault Ships hadn't changed the tide of battle within the span of 2 days. Fireflight accomplished this by first attacking Griffin naval fleets in the dead of night while using the night vision spell "Seralson," which was named after the unicorn who founded the spell. Once the naval side of the Griffin's forces were taken care of, Frisk took to clearing the town of its Griffin occupants, which she accomplished in a matter of hours with the help of approaching Royal guard forces. A month after the ordeal Frisk Fireflight received the medal of appraisal from the Royal sisters,

The entire ordeal took place a year ago, and came as an unfortunate surprise for the Equestrian Empire, because that was something they'd never expected, or thought would happen. Which is what most likely led to the attack. The battle broke the Equestrian Empire's 1,045 years of nonviolent liaison with abutting kingdom's, and showed every other kingdom on Equus the vulnerability of the Equestrian Empire. The Royal sisters were so worried about other threats within the kingdom, that they forgot about the foreign threats that laid dormant outside their borders.

Despite the Republic of Griffonea's defeat at North Freyass, they still continue to try and threaten and intimidate the Equestrians with no end, as well as continue to strengthen military power on the border between Equestria and Griffonea. Only furthering tensions, and limiting the possibility of peaceful resolution.

The situation with the Griffin's reminded Celestia allot about what was currently happening with these new creatures and Luna, Luna deterring 2 attempts from the creatures for peaceful resolution, the first being the battle at the beach, and the second being when the creatures were chased into Ponyville. Now, they're at Equestria's doorstep with there most powerful warships, at least from what Celestia has heard, and nopony knew what their intentions were.

"Excuse me for bothering you princess, but are you okay? You seem rather...worried." Said a fairly familiar voice to Celestia's ears, sifting through her memory she compared it to one she heard at Twilight's coronation, one that belonged to a certain stallion Twilight had been asking for. Looking behind herself, Celestia finally realised who the voice belonged to. Flash Sentry, the fairly tall solar guard stallion, he was smiling while holding a bag of gummy worms snugly in between his wings, from what she's heard, they were his favorite candy. Slowly, Flash's head started to tilt to the right, fusing into an expression of confusion and worry. "Princess?"

After Flash said that, Celestia realised she was staring at him for too long with no definite reason as for why. "Oh sorry Flash, I've just been on edge because of...well, I think you know." Responded Celestia, looking towards the coast.

"Oh, I understand princess, things have been rather hectic since their arrival here at Baltimare." Said Flash, taking a seat next to Celestia while looking at the coast himself. Sitting next to Celestia, Flash remembered what Nicholas told him before he left with the rest of his group, Flash remembered the sincerity in his voice like he truly didn't know what the future had in store for the both of them. But that wasn't something that got Flash's attention the most, what got his attention was what they gave him.

Flash Sentry's flashback, 2 days ago

"Remember sentry, when we appear on that coast, keep your cool. We won't be there to invade, at least...I hope." Said Nicholas, walking towards his helicopter while talking to Flash Sentry.

"You don't really know don't you?" Asked Flash, who was currently following Nicholas to his WHA-91. "But I still don't understand why I still have to stay here, shouldn't I be at the prison by now? The commanders are going to be expecting me soon."

"Well...yes, but first, we have something for you." Responded Nicholas, opening the right side door of his helicopter, he pulled out a small box with a small U.S. flag on it, Nicholas than turned around and showed Flash the box.

Flash looked at the box with confusion, not knowing the significance of its contents. "What is it?"

"This is the Medal of Commendation, given to you by order of Aaron Bowman, one of the United States most prized and respected political leaders. You, Flash Sentry, have been given this medal because of your acts of heroism and bravery, you were essential in the rescue of the Changeling prisoners that were unjustly held captive under the Equestrian empire. The United States thanks you for your contribution to the everlasting dream of freedom that pushes us forward, and motivates us everyday."

Nicholas than opened the box, within the box lay a medal with a green colored cross with an eagle holding 3 arrows, a shield blocking it's torso. Along with that the medal had 14 stars with a ribbon sporting a light blue, green, and white color scheme. Overall the medal was an eye catcher for sure, the Emerald-like ascents, along with the bronze colored holding were very well done, the medal itself demanded attention, and it easily received it.

"Oh, you guys didn't need to do thi-"

"You're right, we had to. There was no other option, your a hero, and everyone in Washington, and everyone here thinks the same, and once the general public finally find out about Equestria, they'll think the same as well."

Flash Sentry looked at Nicholas, mouth a gape, "I-I didn't know you all regarded me this highly, surely there's somepony else more deserving than I."

"Can you name another pony so willing to help us?" Responded Nicholas, booping Flash's noise once he finished his sentence.

"Thank you."

Current time, Equestrian Perspectives

Flash Sentry opened the bag of gummy worms, looking away from the ships and towards Celestia, Flash Sentry asked "Would you like some gummy worms Princess?" Still looking towards Celestia, he held the bag closer to her and gave an endearing smile.

Princess Celestia stared at Flash Sentry, then smiled, "Sure." Getting closer to Flash, Celestia used her magic to lift the bag firmly in between the both of them, once done with that, she then used her magic to get one singular gummy worm. Putting the gummy worm in her mouth, Celestia stared at one of the ships in particular, as she continued to stare Celestia realized how menacing the creatures ships could be, despite the fact they weren't doing anything besides having smaller machines flying around, and landing on them. As she continued to watch the ships, she noticed that they didn't adhere to the directions the waves hit them in, it was the exact opposite, the ships themselves made the waves. Each massive ship dominated the water it was located in, destroying waves while creating their own, they made Celestia rather self aware about the size and power of her own naval fleet, especially since no matter how strong the magic, the sea always dictates wether the ship can sail safely.

"Which one is your favorite princess?" Asked Flash, which sent Celestia off a little bit.

"What was that Flash?" Asked Celestia, trying to understand what Flash said fully.

"Which one of the creatures ships is your favorite? Mine is the one with the 3 large spikes at the front." Answered Flash Sentry, pointing at one of the 3 CVX-100's that were lined up next to each other. Looking at where Flash was pointing, Celestia caught wind of 3 large ships she hadn't took notice of when she arrived. Noticing the various aircraft that were on the main deck, Celestia realised that some of the vessels were capable of carrying the flying machines the creatures used so often. Which meant the machines didn't deploy from there nation as many of Celestia's military advisors had theorized, they instead deployed from ships that stayed in secure, safe, and guarded locations protected by ground, air, and sea forces. Realizing this, Celestia thought about why the creatures would take such a large risk, one such as placing their most powerful naval vessels at the coast of a heavily populated city such as Baltimare. 'Wouldn't keeping them in more safe location have less of a risk? Do they not fear attack?' Celestia thought, wondering about wether the creatures vessels had any defensive measures that could be used against pegasus. Defensive measures they could use that weren't their flying machines.

Putting another gummy worm in her mouth, Celestia continued to view the 3 ships and their fleet of aircraft, doing so Celestia caught sight of the objects she'd never forget. She was staring at the very machines that cohered themselves into her mind. She was staring at the aircraft that were responsible for attacking Canterlot and Ponyville, which were only a few hundred meters away from her. Only now they were in the dozens. Celestia saw them all, The F/A-37 "Talon fighter," FB-90 "Hustler," F-15U "Plus," FA-24A "TIGERCAT," and F-35X "HELLCAT" were all there doing, nothing. Continuing too view the aircraft, Celestia felt a type of uneasiness about the fact they weren't doing anything, especially since she's gotten so used to the fast and nimble ducts, dives, and tight turns that have become synonymous with them. Looking at the aircraft, Celestia remembered how desperately her royal guards tried to stop the machines, only to be out maneuvered and out paced by said machines. She remembered the hopelessness the guards felt when ever the machines slowed down, only to accelerate to the ludicrous speeds they were capable of when the guard's got within 15 feet (4.5 meters) away from them, the biggest offender of this were the 3 diamond shaped craft with the babyblue and ultramarine color schemes. Whenever the guards closed in on the craft, it would always just pull up above the guards extremely quickly, and roll 180 degrees while decelerating comparably fast, after completing those two maneuvers the craft would spin another 180 degrees and accelerate slowly, giving off the impression that it was chasing the guards, only to overtake them after.

The 3 aircraft would do this continuously while the rest lay waste to any tree's still left in the Everfree, it took the royal guard, along with Celestia and Luna an exponentially long amount of time to realise that it was a diversion for the rest to continue the chaos and destruction they were causing. But when they finally realised the 3 aircraft were merely a diversion for the rest, it was too late, because the Everfree was already set ablaze, and the aircraft squadrons were already leaving. On that arguably terrifying day, Celestia watched the aircraft leave and fade over the distance, once they were out of sight she felt a plethora of emotions. Anger, sadness, despair, fear, awe, and shame were among the emotions, but shame was the strongest she was feeling. This was because of her inability to defend herself, and her ponies from the onslaught that came not 50 minutes ago. But still, many, many questions still remained, would things be different if Celestia helped the Changeling's when they called for it? Would things be different if Luna hadn't began arresting Changeling's that refused to join Thorax's rebellion?

Celestia has been asking herself these two questions ever since the attack on Canterlot and Ponyville, and she hasn't gotten any sleep because of them. At times, Celestia wondered if Luna felt the same guilt as well. "Whoa!" Said Flash, breaking Celestia from her thought trance, his head locked onto the sky. At first Celestia didn't realise what he was looking up at, at least until...

Looking up, Celestia spotted multiple aircraft in a Vic Formation flying over the city, they looked just like the other aircraft that aided in the assail on Canterlot and Ponyville, only with some significant differences separating the two. The differences being the wing shape, along with the size, and length of the shiny bulge that protruded from the front. This got Celestia thinking, this could possibly be a subspecies of the one seen in Canterlot and Ponyville, and if that was the case, that would mean the creatures lied about their machines actually being...machines. That would mean they were alive, and most likely domesticated, which would mean at some point, the creatures conquered and enslaved the them, that could come in handy if Equestria and the United States went to war. If Equestria could find a way to make the flying creatures turn on their masters, than Equestria could have more than a chance at defeating the United States, especially since Fluttershy has the ability to fluently speak with all types of animals, so these large flying creatures shouldn't be any different.

Not long after, Celestia was thrown out of her thoughts once again by another aircraft flying over. Than another, than another, than another, soon enough the sky was filled with different aircraft variants. 43 of the creatures supposed machines were circling the skies high above Baltimare, except for 8 others, which stayed 200 feet (60 meters) above the ground, circling the city as well. Continuing to watch the 8 machines, Celestia saw 5 aircraft that looked very much like the ones she viewed during the attack on Canterlot and Ponyville, and the one her and Flash saw moments ago, the only difference being that it had only 2 rear wings instead of the normal 4, this, at least for Celestia, solidified the idea of the machines actually being conquered flying creatures.

"Did you see that princess?" Asked Flash putting a gummy worm in his mouth, still looking up at the sky. He said this with a suspiciously calm demeanor, throwing Celestia off a tad bit. Looking down at Flash, Celestia inched her head closer to his, Celestia raised her left eyebrow and asked, "Why are you so calm, Lieutenant Flash Sentry? Wouldn't a sight such as this be rather...scary? Especially for a royal guard such as yourself, since many guards have fallen to their 'Advanced weaponry.'"

"We-well, they haven't done anything to warrant any type of worry, a-at least not yet." Answered Flash, forming a nervous smile.

Staring at Flash, Celestia furrowed her brow, slowly getting closer and closer to him, so much so that their noses touched. Soon enough Celestia calmed herself and allowed Flash some ample breathing room, "Sorry Lieutenant, I didn't mean to be so overbearing. Forgive me."

"Don't worry princess, I understand." Responded Flash, glad Celestia wasn't able to see through the lies he told her. Flash knew the United States wasn't going to attack unless provoked, and right now, the Equestrian royal guard haven't done anything to provoke any action. At least for now.

Looking down at the floor, Flash saw his bag of gummy worms on the sand, obviously there because of Celestia's sudden suspicion, luckily none of the gummy worms hit the ground. Walking over to the bag, Flash picked it up with his hooves and looked up at Celestia and asked, "Would you like some more gummy worms, princess?"

Looking at Flash, Celestia saw a boundless amount of loyalty in his eyes, like he would do anything in his power to protect her and the rest of the royal family in any way he could. Though, it wasn't long after that Celestia remembered all the letters Flash had sent her, and she read all of them, down too the signature. Celestia remembered how they detailed the suffering the Changeling's endured during their time there, along with how the guards emotionally, physically, and mentally abused them. Celestia would receive two to three letters each day from Flash because of it, and she selfishly ignored his call for help, which reminded Celestia of how she ignored the Changeling's countless cries for help.

Spreading her wings, Celestia trapped Flash Sentry in a hug and said, "I-I'm sorry...Flash, I should've listened to you when I had the chance, and if I did, than maybe things could have been different. Maybe, none of the guards at the prison would've died."

Getting dragged into the hug, Flash didn't realise what was going on until Celestia said her apology to him. At first, Flash didn't realise why she was hugging him, and for a good second, he thought he was going to die. Looking around, Flash could see everypony staring at him and Celestia, which included Luna, Shining Armor, Cadance, and 5 of the element barers were All staring with confused expressions, except for...Discord? Discord was wearing his normal sly grin, and from the few times him and Discord have met, Flash knew he was planning something, he didn't know what, but it was definitely something. Though, as Flash continued to look at Discord, he saw him point his left arm the right, following it Flash saw the one mare he didn't want to see at the moment, Twilight. Twilight was staring in his direction, and Flash had noticed that by every passing second, Twilight seemed to grow more and more agitated, so if he didn't want to meet the wrath of an alicorn princess, he would need to find a way to get Celestia to stop hugging him, and fast.

"Well, there could still be hope for peace with the new creatures, and maybe even the Changeling's."

"Y-you really think so?"

"Anything's possible right? So, there could still be hope." Responded Flash, regretting it soon after, mainly because of the immediate bear hug Celestia put him in. Feeling his lungs traveling to his throat, Flash tried his last attempt at getting Celestia to stop hugging him, "Ce-Celestia, I-I can't breathe, p-please stop hugging me."

Hearing Flash's sudden cries for help, Celestia let him go and watch him fall to the ground and gasp for air, which left Celestia wondering about how much force she had put into her hug. "Umm, Flash are you okay?"

Watching Flash struggle to get back on his hooves, Celestia could hear the audible shuffle of sand under the hooves of a somewhat disgruntled pony. Namely female. Looking behind herself, Celestia spotted Twilight doing a light gallop towards Flash's general direction, which seemed to scare him just a tiny bit, as well as confuse Celestia just as much. Nearing Flash, Twilight circled him with a blank expression, like she was inspecting him for whatever reason she had.

Feeling Twilight's eyes search every part of his body for Celestia knows what, Flash in that moment, had felt the most self conscious he had ever been in his 23 years of living, and he knew damn well why. In his mind, Flash didn't think he was anything special, at least not in the same category as prince Shining Armor, prince Blue Blood, General Honey Bun, General Sapphire Twister, and Captain Frisk Fireflight. Who were either of noble status, or decorated war heroes who've fought for Celestia. All in all, Flash believes he shouldn't have attracted the attention of the literal princess of magic! Yet here he was...

"Princess, I don't think strangling your royal guard-ponies is the best idea, especially since we don't have many on standby like we used to. Though, that raises a question. Why were you hugging Flash Sentry?" Asked Twilight, staring at Celestia with a confused face that was obviously fake.

Looking back at Twilight, Celestia at first couldn't understand why Twilight was asking such an obvious question, the only way she would've asked such a question was if she really didn't know why Celestia hugged Flash, or she was just trying to get under her skin by asking something so embarrassing. But why would Twilight want to embarrass Celestia?

"Well, I-I wa-"

Before Celestia could muster a coherent sentence she heard, once again another pair of the "Machines" fly by, except now there weren't any machines blazing through the air at a thousand miles an hour. Instead it was 14 Thunderbolt's, along with 7 royal Pegasus guard's currently chasing 2 of the many creatures flying machines.

"Oh no." said Twilight, Flash, and Celestia unanimously, knowing full well what dire consequences the Pegasus's mistake will have...for everypony.

Pegasus and fighter pilots perspective

"Are you sure about this? Princess Celestia said not to attack the machines, she also said they wouldn't attack if not provoked. Remember what happened to the 3 royal guard's and 10 Thunderbolt's that tried to fight them!" said a worried Royal guard pegasus, who was currently watching the mass amounts of aircraft that were circling the city from above.

"Those stories are nothing but fairy tale, none of them are true. They were just stories fabricated by princess Celestia to make sure we wouldn't absolutely obliterate these foul creatures along with the Changeling's." Responded a Thunderbolt named Stewarical, who was extremely agitated at the moment. The reason for his agitation was because of the sudden appearance of the creature's massive vessels, along with the constant bombardment of protests from a certain Royal guard. Too add to this, he knew that the creature that assaulted princess Luna was on one of those vessels, and he wanted to teach who ever it was a lesson they'll never forget.

"Bu-but what if Celestia is right, you'll be practically killing yourself if you decide to engage tho-those...things?" Responded the Royal guard, hoping Stewarical would change his mind for the better.

Instead Stewarical reached his boiling point, and lashed out at the Royal guard. "I don't care, I know she's lying! Celestia is weak, and unfit to rule a kingdom like the Equestrian empire. But that doesn't matter now, all I need to know is wether your with me or not. Me and 225 other pegasus are planning to meet at the edge of the city and start our attack, so make up your mind!"

At first the Royal guard was surprised at the hostility in the Thunderbolt's voice, he didn't really think that pegasus was actually serious about attacking the new creatures. Should he just leave it and hope he doesn't try it, or tell the princesses about his plan. "Of course I'm not. I'm not going to risk my life based on what some lousy Thunderbolt believes, if you want to go and get killed that's fine, but not me."

"Fine, I along with the many other pegasus never needed you in the first place!"

3 minutes later

Meanwhile above the middle of the city, a squadron of 3 Northrop Grumman F-24 Tomcat 2's named "The Mysterious Ones" were flying in a Vic formation 121 meters (400 feet) above the city alongside another squadron of 5 Lockheed Martin F-35E Death Adder's named "The Alphas." The reason for the 2 squadrons to fly at such a high altitude in a city with buildings only reaching 30 meters (100 feet) into the sky was because of the possible threat of an aircraft-to-building collision, despite how unlikely it is. The reason for this was because during the year 2079 an American B-1r Lancer was doing close flybys around several 800 foot (243 meter) high sky scrapers in the Russian city of Vladivostok as part of a very prestigious air show that the Russian government ran, planned, and hosted. The Russian government of course invited numerous countries to participate in the air show, these countries consisted of the New British Empire's (NBE) FA-47 "Bristol Blenheim 2," the Republic Of China's J-21 "Black Dragon," the Tuismo Dominion's DF-32 "Mix Master," and of course, the United States and her B-1r. Though, during the final minutes of the air show the pilots of the B-1 decided to do an unauthorized maneuvers through two massive buildings, tilting the aircraft 90 degrees the pilots tried to slide the aircraft between the two buildings, but unfortunately that wasn't going to happen, because the pilots overestimated the power the engines were putting out, and in turn they rammed the underside of they're aircraft into the building at 524 miles an hour (843 kilometers an hour). Effectively killing themselves, and everyone in the crash zone, the building proceeded to collapse 3 hours later.

The crash killed 6000 people, and costed the United States 1.3 billion dollars in damages and in building repairs, funerals for the deceased, and medical expenses for the critically injured. To add salt to the wound the United States wasn't invited to any other Russian air show until 2083, and by then the stunts the aircraft did were rather...reserved and uneventful when compared to previous demonstrations, this was because the U.S. Air Force put restrictions in place so the same accident wouldn't happen again. These restrictions slowly made their way out of the air show and made their way to the battlefield, where aircraft couldn't be within 229 feet (69 meters) of a building unless given explicit orders to do so.

[2nd Siege-class carrier]"This is the 2nd Siege-class amphibious assault carrier "Chicago" to F-35E squadron the "Alphas," I repeat this is 2nd Siege-class assault carrier Chicago to F-35E squadron the Alphas. What's your status, over."

"This is Alphas squadron commander "Chaospyre," our status is excellent, over." Responded the squadron commander, knowing full well the carriers were contacting his squadron for a reason other than a status check.

[2nd Siege-class carrier] "Understood, ou-...what? Understood sir... Okay, as of right now you're receiving orders to patrol the perimeter around the fleet. I've gotten information from several scout planes that an assortment of pegasus squadrons are getting brave and starting to get closer to the fleet, so we need some fighters to scare them from getting closer."

"Understood Chicago, we'll be there to provide areal patrol in 2 mikes, Alphas squadron out."

Tilting to the right and slowly descending, the 5 aircraft made their way to protect the fleet, leaving the city airspace surveillance to the 3 F-24's still circling the city. Though, unbeknownst to the eight low flying fighters and 25 high flying fighters, there was 226 angry pegasus currently barreling toward them at 502 kilometers an hour (312 miles an hour), and closing in fast. But that their surprise tactics didn't last long because...you know, radar.

"Holy shit! Guys, there's a large mass of pegasus 14 miles to the North, they're currently travelling 312 miles an hour (501 kilometers an hour) and should literally be flying right next to us in 5 minutes time. What do we do!?" Screamed an F-117N pilot currently tracking the 110 pegasus on his aircraft's radar, soon after the pegasus appeared on the radar screen of every U.S. aircraft and ship within a 7,000 mile (11,265 kilometer) radius.

With the sudden appearance of this new information, the pilots made a unanimous decision to relay the information back to the fleet and hope for a clear response on how to deal with this problem. A response never came in time.

The pegasus were 1 minute from reaching the fighters, and there was still no order from the fleet on what to do. So now there is 46 or so angry fighter pilots about to be intercepted by 110 angry pegasus who want revenge for what Frederick did to Luna. Too add to the pilots ever increasing anger, they thought Luna and Celestia had sent the pegasus as well, not knowing the pegasus were going rogue and making it seem like the princesses weren't willing to try a diplomatic way to peace.

"You know what, fuck this shit! How about we give these bastards what they want, a fucking fight!" Screamed one of the two pilots in one of the several F/A-70's currently flying in the air.

"Bu-but, they literally outnumber us. We stand no chance, especially if we're going to engage them at the merge, let's also not forget that many of us here don't have main guns." Said the F-117N pilot, watching as the swarm of pegasus slowly come into view.

For 30 more seconds the pilots proceeded to form a plan to deal with the incoming threat, hoping the fleet would respond and give a direct order on how to deal with the incoming threat. But as they would solemnly find out, it wouldn't come in time. Finishing their loosely drawn out plans, the 46 aircraft got into their positions and waited.

The pilots planned for any aircraft without a main gun, like the F-35D, F-35U, F-117N, and X-68 would avoid contact with the pegasus and fire their munitions from a safe distance while every other aircraft with a main gun, like the F-22B, FA-55, F-24, and F/A-70 would fight the pegasus at the merge and show the princesses the full might of U.S. air superiority. This battle plan was of course excluding the F-35E's currently performing areal overwatch above and around the fleet, because they would only engage the pegasus if they got to close to any of the ships.

"Okay, is everyone ready?" Asked an F/A-70 pilot, receiving words such as "yes," "definitely," and "always" from his colleagues.

Soon enough every aircraft with a main gun started flying towards the pegasus, readying themselves for the merge. The pilots who were in these aircraft promptly named themselves "Honey Badgers" because, and I quote, "it sounds cool." On the other hand, every other aircraft without a main gun started flying the opposite direction of the honey badgers, they would correct their flight patterns towards the aircraft when the honey badgers engaged the pegasus.

Barreling toward the pegasus, the pilots of the F/A-70 and F-24's set their afterburners to 3% power to get an added edge over the pegasus in the merge, on the other hand the pilots in the FA-55 and F-22B's decided to start tracking as many pegasus as they could at once. Doing this, the aircraft were able to relay the location of the pegasus to every aircraft and ship in the area, making it easier to target, lock on, and track the pegasus with air-to-air, and ground-to-air missiles. It only took a minimum of 1.3 seconds for them to do.

23 seconds past since the fighters changed their direction to fight the pegasus, and now they had just reached the point where they'd merge and pass the pegasus, once that time came, it didn't have the usual gracefulness jet fighters had when engaging each other in a dog fight. This was because some pegasus were struck by the wings or body of the fighters, either getting flattened or sliced. A notable example of this was a 20 year old Thunderbolt who decided to try and ram one of the F-22B's, it didn't turn out well for him because once he made contact with the clear aluminium, he literally exploded and splattered his insides on the canopy of the aircraft.

While the two F-22B pilots were getting a face full of blood and guts, several of the F/A-70's broke the sound barrier around several pegasus, killing several pegasus with the immense pressure the sound waves produced. Soon after the F/A-70's started banking upwards and went vertical while setting their afterburners to 0% while adding more normal power to the engines, travelling 91 meters (300 feet) straight up into the sky they started banking downwards and spun their bodies 190 degrees. The F/A-70's did this at such a fast rate that they didn't give the pegasus any time to react, giving them an optimal opportunity for maximum areal carnage.

Locking on to, and tracking pegasus surrounded on all sides by their fellow thunderbolt's or guard's the F/A-70 pilots took the opportunity to launch their AIM-200's and cause maximum carnage. Watching the missiles race towards its target at Mach 5.7 (4,373 mph, 7,038 kph), the missile broke the sound barrier within the span of 1.2 seconds. Once the first missile was racing towards its targets it rammed through 2 Thunderbolt's that unfortunately got in its way. It punched a hole straight through the first ponies stomach, and fully decapitated the second.

Finally reaching its targets the missile exploded on the pegasus's 1 o'clock, killing everypony within a 30 foot (9 meter) radius with only the shock wave, moving up to a 40 foot (12 meters) radius and everypony is knocked out of the sky and subsequently killed by the expanding heat. Not long after the same thing happened to another large group of pegasus, than another, than another...

On the other hand, the F-24 pilots decided not to attack and instead lead pursuing pegasus into something called a "kill zones," which was set up and monitored by the aircraft that fell back to kill the pegasus from a farther distance. Getting closer and closer to hitting the merge, the F-24's continued marking and tracking targets until the radar reached its limit, now the only thing for them to do was ad more power to the engines and go head first into the merge.

Finally entering the merge while traveling 1,808 kilometers an hour (1,123 miles an hour), the F-24 pilots proceeded to continue flying in a straight line until as many of the pegasus their radars were already tracking took pursuit. 15 seconds after the merge began, the 6 fighter jets had a good number of pegasus following each of them, so in response each of the fighters scattered and flew into different directions so they could scatter the pegasus, then lead them into the "kill zones."

Banking to the right and purposely doing a wide turn, one F-24 pilot managed to get 21 pegasus chasing on his tail, and luckily they were all bunched up together, making for a great target. As the fighter jet continued flying, eventually increasing its speed to 2,970 kilometers an hour (1,846 miles an hour), it eased out of the banking turn and slowly started flying in a straight line towards the beach. Though, as it continued flying straight the pilot noticed how close the pegasus flew in formation, which wasn't a very smart thing to do when engaging enemy aircraft. Close in formations seemed more suited for demonstration teams showing off the latest and greatest tech and training, so that means either the pegasus weren't properly trained in areal warfare, or they're just demonstration teams posing as dog fighters. Either way they're going to be made an example of.

Less than a minute later the fighter jet was at the beach with the pegasus 206 meters (675 feet) behind it, slowing it's pace to a more reasonable 1,058 miles an hour (1,702 kilometers an hour) so the pegasus could catch up an. Making his way over where the sea and land meet, the pilot checked the back of his aircraft to make sure each of the 21 pegasus were still there. They were, still trying to land a hit on his aircraft with their bow and arrows just like they did when the pilots first intercepted them. So now the only thing to do was relay their location to one of the many F-35D's, and ask for an air-to-air strikes.

"This is 'Therapist 3' to 'Centaur 7,' are you there 'Centaur 7?' Over."

"I'm here 'Therapist 3,' is there something I could do for you? Over"

"Are you carrying any external weapons? Because I couldn't get a good look when you and the rest took your positions, Over."

"Yeah, on the wings I've got 6 PAC 4's, 3 on both, and 2 MIM-50's, 1 on both. In the internal bays I've got 4 AIM 164's, and 2 GBU-15's. Overall I'm pretty well armed, so if you need me to kill someone, or something, just ask."

"Good, because I need you to obliterate the pegasus behind me..."

"Oh...that makes sense."

Ponies perspective

Watching her pegasus chase the creatures mighty flying beasts, Celestia was given another display of the sheer speed the flying beasts were capable of. But as it continued to fly it seemed to slow down a considerable amount for no discernible reason, that was until 30 seconds later when something else caught her attention. Hearing an audible whine coming from the East, Celestia looked in the direction of the noise and saw one of the sub species of the flying beasts she saw at Ponyville. Looking further in front of the beast, Celestia saw a large metal rod that vaguely resembled the ones that were used against Canterlot and Ponyville.

Looking at where the object was pointing, Celestia realized what events were about to unfold in a matter of seconds. A matter of seconds that were far too late, because before her, or anypony could react, several of the pegasus that were following the flying beasts were killed in an explosion powerful enough to rival the elements of harmony. The shock wave itself was powerful enough to shatter windows and crack the foundation of buildings, as well as knock ponies straight off their hooves and throw them several meters away from the place they were standing. This proved true for everypony standing on the beach, especially for Celestia.

Getting hit with the full brunt of the shock wave, Celestia, along with every other pony that was in a 29 meter (95 feet) radius of the blast were thrown like ragdolls, hitting anything that was behind the now airborne ponies. Celestia herself was launched into a bakery along with Flash Sentry, Luna, Twilight, and a plethora of other ponies. Hitting and knocking over several tables, Celestia somehow sustained minimal damage to her body, unfortunately, or fortunately depending on what kind of sick freak you are (yeah, I know you're reading this), Flash and Twilight weren't lucky enough to have had the same outcome. Twilight herself suffered lesser injuries when compared to Flash, who, because of his quick thinking, wrapped Twilight within his wings before Twilight and him went airborne; effectively saving Twilight from an even worse world of hurt, or maybe even death.

Slowly getting up, Celestia could hear the screams and cries of scared and injured ponies outside the bakery, so much so that it sounded like a war had just broken out, which could've been true. But that would have to wait, because Celestia needed to make sure the ponies she cared about were okay. walking towards her unconscious sister, Celestia saw the severity of the injuries Luna had sustained from the blast. Celestia couldn't tell wether it was the blast that injured her like this, or being launched into a literal building that did it. Looking at Luna's wounds Celestia could see all the small cuts that had reopened from being under the high stress by the shock wave, along with the new ones that had formed, 5 hours of healing magic turned useless by 2 seconds of airtime. Looking at Luna's wings Celestia could see all the damage they sustained, both wings were slightly bent at the patagium and burnt at the tip, overall it seemed to be a very bad day for Luna.

After looking over Luna's body and determining she was able to hold out for medical help to arrive, Celestia decided to move on and check Twilight and Flash for any life threatening injuries. Until she heard an audible moan of pain from behind her. Upon first instinct, Celestia turned around and looked in Luna's direction and saw her struggling to stand, toppling over upon the first second of getting back on her hooves.

Running over to her sister, Celestia said "Lulu, you're awake! How are you feeling? can you see clearly? Do you know were you are-"

"Ye-yes sister, I-I'm fine, I assure you. Now let's make sure our subjects are okay."

"That's preposterous, I'll go and make sure our subjects are okay while you stay here and rest. You're too severely injured to take on such a task, so for now you must rest."

"No! I'm fine, I have a duty to my subjects and I shall fulfill it."

"No luna! I won't allow it, and this isn't going to be an argument, you're far to injured to be taking on such a task. So as your older sister, I order you to stay here!"

Staring at her sister in overall shock, Luna couldn't believe that Celestia was speaking to her in such an aggressive tone. She didn't do it when Luna attacked the creatures on the beach, or when Luna insulted one of their nobles, so why was she doing it now when Luna was needed most?

"Bu-but sisters I-"

"Luna, I don't care, you need to rest, now stay here. I'll deal with this problem...alone!"

"Si-sister I-"

"Luna!"

Walking towards Twilight and Flash, Celestia couldn't help but feel bad for treating her own sister like a wayward filly, but something needed to be done to convince Luna that this situation isn't in her control anymore, never was. If Celestia was honest with herself, peace could've been acquired already if Luna hadn't insulted the United State's leaders, especially since it was unknown the Frederick was a noble who was related to one of said leaders. Getting back to the task at hoof, Celestia stood above both Flash Sentry and Twilight Sparkle as they too lay unconscious from the blast, surprisingly still asleep despite the yelling that Celestia had done not a moment ago.

Staring at the two unconscious ponies, Celestia inspected their bodies for any severe injuries, and there wasn't a short supply of them. Almost every part of Flash's body was covered in some kind of cut or bruise, his wings on the other hand were another story. Both were heavily damaged and burned, having large chunks of feathers falling off of them as well as having been pierced with copious amounts of debris thrown up from the blast; but he'll survive. 'It'll only take a few months for him to heal his wounds anyways, and after that he'll have his very own parade for saving princess Twilight,' thought Celestia, moving her attention to Twilight herself, who was in much better condition than Flash.

Twilight herself didn't seem to have a scratch on her, except for the one that Celestia saw on her left cheek, but that was really it. Aside from a couple of bruises here and there, overall Flash did a great job at protecting Twilight.

Hearing several explosions in the distance, Celestia's eyes left the bodies of her loved ones and went towards the outside once more to try and get a small glimpse at what might be happening; and nothing, nothing seemed to be happening with the ships on the coast. So that would only point towards the creatures flying beasts still battling the pegasus that were chasing them, which is still better than them and their Naval fleet turning their eyes towards the city and attacking it deliberately. Better to have the creatures kill a small amount of rogue royal guard-ponies and make an example of their power, than have them release their forces upon the whole of the Equestrian Empire, especially since Celestia was sure this wasn't a large percentage of their nations military forces.

"Admiring the sweet, sweet sounds of chaos are you? Celestia."

Hearing the other worldly voice speak behind, Celestia could already piece together who the voice belonged to before it spoke a second time.

"Ahh, Discord! What are you doing here!?"
