Princess Celestia, an eternal Sanctis that ruled over Mysteria. Over last one thousand years the nation progressed in science and technology. The creation of Mechas, a type of Artificial Human lead Celestia to a decision that would change the world. She would make Element Bearers to wield the Elements of Harmony, she started with a single Mecha after extensive study. The Mecha 001# was given a name, Sunset Shimmer.

Celestia however made two fatal errors, first due to inexperience in the field she failed to notice a major malfunction in the system the self repairing system allowed the Sunset to function without the three laws of Mechatronics thus Sunset had complete free will and secondly she treated Sunset as tool for her owns goals. Sunset ended up escaping violently, even overpowering the Princess herself.

Celestia refused to be daunted and using this as an experience but also learning that a Mecha was not a tool but a person needing guidance. Thus her second creation 002#, Twilight Sparkle was programmed with a varied version of two of the three laws of Mechatronics. Giving her a degree of self awareness while not allowing to feel the same pain that Susnet did, being unwanted and unloved.
