Love Works In Mysterious Ways
Chapter 4
Previous ChapterTwilight was in heaven, so to speak. Spending time with Celestia always was interesting. The alicorn always had something new planned for every day they spent at the summer house. The days passed quickly and soon, it was almost two weeks since they had embarked on their vacation. Twilight’s fondness for Celestia had grown exponentially and vice versa. Still, Celestia was torn by indecision as to whether she should tell Twilight the truth
As fate would have it, the decision was made for her, by rain, of all things.
It was a beautiful, sunny evening as Twilight soared through the sky at Celestia’s side. The alicorn had patiently taught her the finer points of flying and Twilight had been a diligent student.
So, they had been both enjoying themselves when the rainstorm struck without warning. Celestia gasped in surprise, while Twilight almost fell out of the sky in surprise, soaked by sleeting torrents of rain.
“By Faust! Where’d those clouds come from?” She howled exasperatedly, trying to stay aloft. Celestia had to agree with her. This was certainly odd for this time of the year.
“Quickly, Twilight! Fly as fast as you can! Follow me!” Without a moment’s pause, Celestia banked around, flapping her wings with renewed vigour, Twilight following suit.
Quite a few blood-chilling minutes later, they made a rather undignified landing in the courtyard, their hooves gouging up shallow trenches in the soil as they nearly fell over in their haste. Regaining their bearings, they galloped over to the door, stumbling inside and slamming the door, leaving the rather fierce weather outside. Both could only pant in shock. After a while, though, Celestia let out a titter of amusement.
“I should have seen that coming. How could I forget it? The weatherponies certainly are diligent at their work.”
“Huh?” There was a large puddle of rainwater slowly spreading across the tiles.
“Nothing. We, uh, should get ourselves a towel.”
“Yeah…” Twilight shook her head for a moment, spraying water. As she stood up, her eyes danced across Celestia’s soggy form. Her usually wavy mane was waterlogged, too, clinging to her body like so much wet towels. And boy, did she look alluring.
Something… changed, for lack of a better word. Slowly, she walked over to the silently chuckling alicorn and raised a hoof to touch Celestia’s cheek. Her mirth faded away and she gazed upon the purple unicorn in front of her. By Faust, how blind had she been these few last years? Twilight had certainly grown into a beautiful young mare. Without much thought, she lowered her head, meeting Twilight halfway. As their lips met, Twilight let out a small moan, her whole body trembling slightly. She stood up on her hindlegs, balancing herself by wrapping her forelegs around Celestia’s neck, pulling herself closer to the alicorn. It was all she could to not dissolve into a puddle. Metaphorically speaking. Celestia’s long tongue curved and rolled through her mouth – slow, careful, yet insistent and she moaned into the kiss.
Celestia unfurled her wings, wrapping them around the smaller pony.
After some time, Twilight halted their long-winded makeout session, looking fearfully at Celestia. A strand of drool bridged the gap between their lips.
“I-I’m sorr-“ She was interrupted as Celestia lunged forward, knocking her on her back, her breath urgent and heavy.
“There is nothing you need to be sorry for, Twilight.” Celestia’s muzzle brushed across the unicorn’s chest, causing her to gasp. Her lips ran rampant across the sensitive skin, placing the occasional bite, never failing to elicit a gasp from Twilight.
“O-o-ohh, Celestia…” She moaned, submitting herself to the alicorn’s caress. That was all the encouragement Celestia needed and she started to slowly make her way downwards…
Oh, she was so close. So close. If Twilight didn’t say anything soon, there would be no stopping her. Thousands of years’ worth of pent-up sexual frustration were boiling over and she needed to find a release.
“C-Celestia!”
“Shhh, Twilight. Let me take care of you.” She muttered huskily in response. Those words did little to reassure Twilight. Suddenly, she was scared – scared of the white alicorn looming over her, lustful, trembling, intent on conquering her.
“Princess!” She called out again, more insistently this time.
“Please, call me Celestia…” Her muzzle brushed across Twilight’s marehood and the smaller mare yelped, scrabbling away. Celestia crawled after her and pure fear flooded Twilight.
“Stop!” She cried out, on the verge of tears.
“T-Twilight… please, do not deny this to me.”
“I can’t do this! I’m not r-ready for this!” With some difficulty, Celestia reined herself in.
“I… I understand. I was too forward.” Several awkward moments later, she continued. “Good night, Twilight. I’ll be getting some sleep. Flying in a rainstorm is exhausting.” Before the purple unicorn could say anything, she left at a brisk trot.
Celestia closed the door behind her, immediately falling against the wall, her body awash with a storm of emotions – lust, desire and arousal. A low, shuddering moan left her as she brushed against the wall. Slightly clumsily, she made her way over to her bed, plopping down in it, biting back a gasp. There was only one way to ease the itch, so to speak. Slowly, she started to rub at her marehood, feeling the rush of warmth to her loins and a moan escaped her. She had definitely been ignoring her own needs, hadn’t she? Her rhythm increased, her hoof already soaked with love juices. As she kept going, her imagination got out of control and soon, it wasn’t her hoof that was pleasuring her. It was, instead, Twilight, her small muzzle brushing insistently against her slit, her small, flexible tongue thrashing about her proverbial flower.
“Aaagh! T-Twilight! Don’t s-stop!” She cried out, her hips bucking as she got closer and closer to her climax…
As she wallowed in a puddle of her own making, she came to reflect on her current situation. She was a princess. Such base desires and lusts should be below her. She had to ignore her own needs and wants for the betterment of Equestria and her ponies. But she now knew one thing with certainty.
She loved Twilight. She loved every inch of her bookish, adorable self. Yet that revelation alone presented more complications…
Next morning was quiet between the two mares. They ate their breakfast in silence, avoiding looking at each other. As Twilight hastily finished her breakfast and prepared to head off to do some reading, Celestia called out to her.
“Twilight? Can we talk, please? About yesterday?”
“I… I guess.” Ill at ease, Twilight turned to face Celestia.
“First off, I want to say that I’m terribly sorry about my behaviour. I shouldn’t have tried to force myself upon you. It was, well… idiotic of me. And, I suppose we’ve spent enough time here. We should head back next morning.” Twilight sighed defeatedly.
“So… you still don’t love me?” As much as it pained Celestia to do so, she nodded.
“Yes. But do not think I don’t care about you. These days I have spent with you have been rather educating for me. You shall always be a welcome guest at my castle. Now, what say you we spend this final day indoors? I have some interesting books I think you’d enjoy reading.” Twilight smiled sadly, encouraged by Celestia’s words.
“That sounds nice, Celestia.”
Next evening
Luna cantered up to Celestia as the chariot pulled away.
“Tia! It’s good to have you back! Interesting as it was to have complete control over Equestria, I am eager to know how you fared with Twilight Sparkle! Tell me everything! Did you confess to her? Did-“ She fell silent as Celestia went for the tried-and-tested method of sticking a hoof in Luna’s mouth.
“No. I do not hold any affection towards her. Luckily, she seems to understand and that’s all I could ask for.” Luna took a step backwards, a disappointed groan leaving her.
“Oh, for Mother’s sake! Tia, she loves you! Do you love her?” When Celestia said nothing, she became angry. “Answer me!”
“YES! I love Twilight! I would give anything to be with her!”
“Then why aren’t you making sweet, passionate love to her?”
“Because I’m a princess. The royal court would eat her alive with words alone! Remember the cellist, Octavia? She was an expert musician, but an earth pony. It took her years to get to where she was, but the nobles ensured that she did not last. Now, she is living in Ponyville, barely making a living. I would not want to place such misery upon Twilight. And if I know him, Discord already has been eavesdropping upon us, even though he is imprisoned in stone. I would be constantly worrying for Twilight’s well-being. She deserves better than that.” Luna slapped her.
“You bucking foal of a princess, Tia! I will take care of Discord! And, if any of the nobles have a problem with Twilight being your special somepony, they can take it up with me! Now, go and talk to Twilight!”
“But-“
“SO HELP ME, TIA, I WILL DRAG YOUR LAZY FLANK TO PONYVILLE MYSELF IF I HAVE TO.”
“What do you mean, ‘taking care of Discord’? Only a-“ She gasped as she understood what her sister had in mind. “No. I cannot allow you to do that.”
“The way I see it, sister, it’s the only way. Discord’s able to break out again. He has done so earlier and he will do so again, given the slightest chance. I know what to do. Tell me – do you not yearn for Twilight? Do you want to love her and be with her?”
“I… I do. I really do.” She whispered defeatedly.
“Then off you go, Tia.” Luna grinned, hugging the distraught princess before taking off in search of something that had been held in utmost secrecy for many millennia.
Twilight sighed as she dropped her saddlebags on the table, brightening some as Spike arrived from upstairs.
“Twilight!” He leapt, hugging her.
“Hey, Spike. How’d you get along without me?”
“Well, it was a bit lonely, but others dropped by occasionally. How about you?”
“Well, all things considered. It didn’t work out for me with Celestia, but at least we’re still friends which is all I could ask for.” She yawned before continuing. “I should get some sleep. You sure you’ve got everything under control?”
“Affirmative!”
“I can always count on you, eh, Spike?”
Luna wandered through the gardens, seeking out the one statue. It did not take long. The strap around her shoulders seemed unnaturally tight.
Why hello there, Princess Luna. It has been some time since we last talked.
“Quiet, Discord. I assume you know why I am here.”
Why, yes. It is quite a great thing, love. Just imagine! Princess Celestia, the grand, immortal diarch of Equestria, in love with her student! My, it would make for a distraction most wonderful! I would be able to break free and wreak delightful chaos! She heard a peal of maniacal laughter in the back of her mind.
“You’ll do nothing of the sort, Discord.” Luna growled, fiddling with her belt, unsheathing the dagger she had sought out.
No… Impossible! It was destroyed millennia ago!
“Well, you’re wrong about that.”
Luna, no! Please, anything but this! I’ll do anything you want! I-I’ll leave Celestia alone!
“And how long will you keep that promise, hmm? I cannot trust you. Nopony can.”
Wait! J-just hear me out!
“…go on.”
I know you still resent Celestia for what she did. You agree that it was the right thing, but still… you cannot help but question her motives. Set me free. I can help you exact revenge most satisfying on her.
“You really think I am that stupid? While I do question my sister’s actions, I also know she had exhausted all other options. You just earned your death.”
No! Please! Luna!
The princess of night shook her head, grasping the dagger with her magic and swung back. Discord’s screaming echoed in her head, desperate and pleading. The small weapon slid smoothly in the stone surface and buried itself in the statue up to its hilt. Slowly, the statue turned to dust, along with its pedestal. Luna staggered, almost falling over. The dagger was ridiculously offensive even to think of. But it was the only thing capable of permanently killing a god. She should probably inform Celestia of this, too.
The alicorn in question was currently slowing down, heading for the library. Only a single window was lit. If what Twilight told her was true, Spike had developed a taste for books recently and often stayed up late to read. Quietly, she landed on the small balcony and her horn flashed briefly as she opened the window, crawling quietly inside.
It is done, sister. Discord is dead.
Thank you, Luna. I cannot express my gratitude enough.
Her regalia clattered as she quietly placed it on a nearby table.
“Huh? Who’s there?” Celestia froze as the purple unicorn shuffled around in her bed.
“It’s me, Twilight. Celestia.” Before the librarian could say anything, she had clambered in her bed, kissing the smaller mare fervently. After a while, she pulled back, reminded that breathing’s a thing.
“B-but I thought that you didn’t-“
“It was a necessary lie. Please, let me explain.” Suspicious, Twilight nodded and Celestia retold everything she’d told Luna and what Luna had taken upon herself to carry out.
“I hope you won’t mind if I take the fact that Discord is dead with a grain of salt, Celestia.”
“Luna used the Witherer, a weapon that is the sole legacy of a darker age. It can kill anything its blade touches. And Discord is not irreplaceable. A new avatar of the chaotic powers will emerge in the future, one that we may reason with. So, there is nothing to worry about. Luna has seen to it.”
“So… We can be together?” Celestia smiled, nuzzling Twilight.
“Yes. That we can. I love you, Twilight.”
“R-really?”
“I do.” Celestia leaned closer to Twilight, kissing her again and she yelped in surprise as Twilight tackled her, pulling her down.
“Oh, Celestia! You have no idea how much I’ve waited for this!” Twilight muttered, letting Celestia roll her on her back.
“Are you sure, Twilight? I would not want to force you into anything you don’t want to do.”
“It’s okay. Just be gentle, would you?”
Twilight let loose an explosive sigh, crawling closer to Celestia, curling up against the white alicorn.
“Wow.”
“I really needed that, Twilight.” Her messy, multi-coloured mane was sprawled all across the bed. “That said, where do we go from now, Twilight? What will the public think?”
“Pah. Who cares what they think? All that matters is that I am with you.”
“Twilight? I would not usually ask this of you but… Hearts and Hooves day is coming soon and… would you be my special somepony?”
“Did you even have to ask? Of course I will!” Celestia smiled, but began to mentally scold herself for her own weakness.
Be my special somepony? Really, Celestia? Then again, asking if she would consider marrying you would be a tad scary. But I should cross that bridge when we get to it.
She chuckled inwardly before wrapping Twilight in a hug, drifting off to sleep.
