Dear Princess Twilight,
Today started out as a normal day. I walked into Canterlot High School, ready for the first day of Senior year. I figured, what could possibly go wrong? I had already saved Equestria multiple times by battling the Sirens, Gloriosa, Juniper Montage, and more. There wasn't anything that would surprise me now. Oh boy, I was dead wrong.
How exactly do I put this without giving you a heart attack and causing a panic attack? Well, I guess the best thing for me to do is start at the beginning of the day.
My alarm on my phone beeped obnoxiously loud as it woke me up. I smiled as this was also the first day Twilight, the other you, had slept over. She groaned in my arms and yawned. I couldn't help but stare into her eyes and smile. "I guess that means it's time to get ready for school, " she sighed as I nodded.
We both got out of bed and headed downstairs. Twilight hopped into the shower while I decided to make breakfast. Just the usual oatmeal with maple syrup for me and eggs for Twilight. We both got dressed for the morning and shortly after we headed to school. Well, I drove my motorbike while Twilight wrapped her arms around my waist screaming her head off. Heh. Still not used to the bike I guess.
I headed inside with Twilight holding my hand and it seemed to be just an average day at Canterlot High School. That was until.... things got a little bit interesting. We had headed to my locker and were standing, leaned up against it just talking casually. I was talking to Twilight about our senior year, and that's when she walked in. I mean.... I walked in.
You know how I told you I had never met the human version of myself? Well.... she had just walked in the front doors of Canterlot High School. At first, I didn't notice her until she walked up behind me and Twilight's jaw dropped to the floor. I looked at her confused and then turned around. I was shocked to say the least. There I was staring directing at myself. It was like looking in a mirror. She wore my signature leather jacket, the same shirt, the same pants, everything was the same except her glasses. From head to toe we looked the same. And I couldn't believe it.
She stared at me in surprise. "What the heck? Who are you? Are you like my long lost twin or something? You better answer me."
I didn't know what to tell her. I just stood there in surprise, my mouth at the ground, staring at her. "I.... I'm Sunset Shimmer."
She fainted. I caught her before she hit the ground and stared at Twilight. "What in Equestria? How is this happening now of all times?" I asked her.
She shrugged. "Well... I suppose we were bound to meet her at some point. I mean, we knew the potential of there being another you was high. But it appears that this was not the expected outcome. We should probably be prepared to explain some things to her before she wakes up."
"What exactly do I even tell her though? That I'm a pony version of her? That I'm from another world? She'll think I'm nuts," I said trying to think of what to do.
"Hey, I think you'll be fine. Just take it slow. I'll be right here to help you through this," Twilight said.
A few minutes passed before Sunset woke up and I began to talk to her. "Okay, please don't freak out," I said. "But I'm Sunset Shimmer, and I believe that you are Sunset Shimmer as well, and I explain. I am you, but from another world. I arrived here years ago, but never knew that there was another you, well another me. I'm from a world where humans are all ponies, dogs are dragons, and there are other beings and creatures as well. Please, don't freak out."
She just stared at me. "Don't freak out? You're telling me that you're me... and I'm you... but you're from another world?"
I nodded."Yes."
She thought about it for a moment and then sighed. "That makes so much more sense. I strangely enough believe you."
I tilted my head. "You do?"
"Yeah... I do... it explains the weird people I've been seeing walking around on their hands and knees, running into doors, and acting like they don't belong here. If you're telling me it's because they're from a different dimension, I believe you. It also means that I'm not crazy which is even better," she said.
And that's basically the gist of everything that has gone down today. I told her more about our world and tried to explain the magic abilities that I have, but I need your help, Twilight. I never expected to meet myself in this world. What do I do? What do I say? Please write back to me, I need you.
Sunset Shimmer
Dear Sunset Shimmer,
Wow. All I have to say is wow. How much do you know about her? Where has she been all these years? How come you've never seen her around? The odds of meeting yourself was oddly high despite you never doing so, but I'm curious as to how similar the two of you are. Like I never imagined this day might actually come, I mean I did, but I didn't, you know what I mean?
I don't know exactly what to tell you, or how to advise you in this journey. As the Princess of Friendship, I command that you do make the effort to befriend her and introduce her to our friends, but at the same time I understand if you don't want to. I definitely think taking it slow is wise. You don't want to overwhelm her with all of this new information. My best advise to give you is to do what you feel is right. I trust your judgement, and you should trust your own judgement. Who knows? Maybe you'll be best friends.
I'm not sure how much you've told her already, but I do recommend not telling her everything. I know learning all of this information at once can be overwhelming and might lead to some extreme reactions. I hope that at the end of the day you are the only one who can decide what to truly do. Also, I'm really surprised she took it so well. I'm sure anyone else would have freaked out even more. But I guess that means she's a lot like you; headstrong, brave, intelligent, and just plain wonderful. She seems like she might be a great friend.

Dear Princess Twilight,
Thank you for your words of wisdom. They definitely helped settle things down. I took your advice and have slowed down on the things I tell her. I just don't know what she's like or how similar we are to each other. I have no idea how she grew up or anything like that whether it was similar to me or different. What I do know is that the reason I haven't seen her is because she lives on the other side of the country, but recently transferred to Canterlot High School for her senior year.
The worst part about everything is not knowing what to do. It turns out we do have a lot in common though at least interest wise. She likes video games like I do, she has a pet lizard named Ray, she likes street art, likes writing comic books, but at the same time there are definitely things that are different between us. For example, she's unafraid of eating meat, while I remain vegetarian. She seemed to have grown up with both her parents, but I well... I didn't really have parents growing up other than Celestia who was like a mother to me,
There's still so much that I don't know. But I want to get to know her more. I also may have taken a look at her memories, out of curiosity. Don't worry, it was with her permission, but I saw memories of my parents doing things with her that they never did with me. I guess in a way I'm a bit jealous. I envy the relationship she had with my parents. Is that wrong? Am I a bad person for thinking such a way?
I guess in a way, I was kind of hoping she was just as messed up as I was. I feel wrong for thinking that way though.

Dear Sunset Shimmer,
I want to apologize about your parents. I never realized that they just weren't there, but you do have to understand that no matter how much she looks like you and acts like you, she's not you. She has different parents, they aren't your parents. She is going to have different habits especially since she didn't grow up eating hay and vegetables. There are going to be differences, they can't be denied. It's okay to be upset and to feel anger for your parent's absence, but know that they are different. Perhaps if you get close to her you might be able to ask her to meet her parents, and it might be able to help with that closure. Obviously you're not their daughter, but I'm sure they would understand, but that's up to you to do.
I think that we have to stop these letters though, I'm coming over. I can't hold back my excitement, and honestly I could use a vacation. I might bring a few other friends as well.

Yeah, this'll be the last letter format. I realize that it's a lot harder to continue this story constrained by letters. But I will keep alternating perspectives to keep things interesting. Hope you enjoy,
