Flash Sentry The Spectacular Spider-Man Issue #2: Electro
A Normal Everyday life
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFlash woke up out of bed on a nice, sunny school morning. "Oh man! I haven't felt this way in months!" He glanced at his alarm clock and was in disbelief, "7:30! Aw I got so much time!" Flash sat upright in his bed and stretched his arms and legs. He then got out and headed to the washroom to take a shower and brush his teeth.
Not long after Flash came out, fully clothed in a Black jacket and white t-shirt underneath, "Good morning!" Flash slid down the railings without getting hurt at all, he was just filled with so much happiness and excitement.
His mother, Sabrina, who was cooking breakfast glanced at her son, she smiled, "Well someone looks tp be in a happy mood today!"
Flash nodded, "Yup!" He chuckled a little, "I just got a good feeling about today, that's all!"
His mother laughed, "Well then you can start your happy day with a sunny side breakfast" She got him a plate of two sunnyside eggs, two sausages and toast with some blackberry jam smeared on top, "Eat up!" She patted him on the head and kissed him on the forehead before walking back to the kitchen to cook a breakfast up for herself.Flash stared at his breakfast with a smile. He took his fork and gobbled up the breakfast he'd been given.
Once he was done everything he grabbed his bag and headed for the door, "Okay Mom! I'll see you after school!"
"Bye!" She said from the kitchen, Be safe!" Flash closed the door behind him and began to walk to school.
Flash walked through the neighborhood on that sunny Monday morning and Flash was headed off to school but here's the thing, his life was completely normal again. It was like everything was washed away and he was a new man. It was like the song Tequila was playing in his head.
The past day was probably the most relaxing Flash ever had in a while, he finished loads of work he would've never thought he could a few weeks ago, he's been getting much needed and kind of deserved rest and he hasn't had to worry about a thing in Canterlot City, heck even Electro wasn't his problem anymore, the police could take care of him for all he cared, all's he knew was that life was gonna get easier from here.
Flash crossed the street and was near the fence of his school, that is until he heard a bunch of police sirens go off and go past him, Flash looked as the cruisers were speeding off, and all's he could do was just nod his head, "Man looks like somethings never change." He chuckled a bit, it probably wasn't the most appropriate reaction but at the same time he was gonna enjoy every last minute of what he considered 'freedom'
Flash walked towards the school, but that was where he was met with a foot tripping him. Flash fell to the ground, but he just rolled his eyes, he knew who the culprit was. "Sorry geek! I didn't see you there!" Curly Winds laughed, "Oh yeah, guess what, me and Sunset are officially public, think of it as something you could've had." He laughed and walked off.
Flash got up but he just simply shrugged, he still had Sunset on his mind but not as much anymore, at times he almost couldn't care less about Sunset's feelings about him now. Flash just sighed, "Yup things will never change."
But things got better for him when Sandalwood caught up with him, "Hey man! long time no see" he and Flash did one of their secret handshakes, "Dude listen, I'm kinda sorry about not hanging with you that much, Fluttershy and I have really hit it off and kind of had a lot of alone time after class, if you know what I mean?" Sandalwood had a smug smirk.
Flash rolled his eyes, "Y'know I don't think I want to." He chuckled a bit, "Anyways it's cool, I'm just happy for you."
"Aw Hey thanks man!" Sandalwood smiled, "So uh? Y'know anything about Micro Chips yet?"
"Well he said he was coming back sometime in June, sucks though, we might not even get to hang out together a lot in the summer."
"Why?" Sandalwood asked looking confused, "Are you going somewhere or something?"
"Yup!" Flash replied, "I have some family in Japan I'm gonna spend sometime in the summer with"
Sandalwood's shoulders dropped, his mouth gawped open, "You have family in Japan."
"Well yeah!" Flash said looking at Sandalwood like it was a no brainer, "Did I not tell you back in September I was gonna go there?"
"Well yeah... but I didn't actually know you had relatives."
Flash chuckled even more, "Well know you do." Flash and Sandalwood then stopped in their tracks when they saw a crowd gather around when they had made it inside the school, "Hey what's that?"
They walked towards the crowd making their way through, Flash and Sandalwood saw Soarin also standing at the front of the crowd so instinctively Flash and Sandalwood went up to him. "Hey Soarin."
Soarin turned his head, "Oh hey! So you guys hear the news yet?" That was a bit of a spontaneous statement Soarin uttered, especially because he hated the news.
"News of what?" Sandalwood asked.
Soarin pointed at the Monitor the crowd had been staring at, "Look!" Flash and Sandalwood stared at the screen, one being shocked and one being not as surprised, Huh, well how predictable.
A female news anchor sat at a table looking at and read what was on her paper, "And now for the real news of the hour, The local vigilante known as Spider-Man reportedly discarded his suit and end his career as the cities quote on quote 'Hero' The monitor began to display pictures of Spider-Man, all of which Flash had taken, though he was credited as being the photographer in small white text below no one actually read it. Than it began displaying some videos of Spider-Man swinging through the streets, "These reports have made their ways into headlines after Chief Editor of The Daily Bugle John Jonah Jameson Jr. released pictures of the vigilante's costume which was allegedly found in a trash can.
Flash smirked a little and chuckled, "What a surprise."
"In a statement he said, 'I am very proud of the web slinger actually, finally seeing how he's been a menace and throwing into the towel, though his actions cannot be ignored and I would be more comfortable with his arrest, this is the step in the right direction', Though it is true that the city can finally relieve themselves of this vigilante, there are still arguments supporting Spider-Man and proving that he's a good guy prompting policemen not to seek out the masked vigilante as they cannot just go arrest him without any actual proof, now I couldn't really tell you if he is good or bad but what we should be arguing about is the age old question, who was behind the mask!
Flash though was a bit irritated that the media thinks of him as a bad guy did think about that age old question, he knew the answer to it but should he release it to everybody else, Nah. That would probably garner unwanted attention!"So Flash discarded the idea.
"Man I can't believe he's really gone!" Soarin took a deep sigh, "You know it just makes me wonder why he gave up." Flash and Sandalwood both nodded in agreement, but then Soarin came to an obvious realization, "Wait Flash! You take pictures of him right?"
Flash's eyes widened a little bit, he didn't expect someone to actually know that despite the fact he's credited in half the newspapers, "Well.. yeah! Why?"
"Well have you ever talked to him before? Surely he would've told someone before he made a big decision like that."
Flash could've easily said yup and make up a story where Spider-Man indeed told him that he was quitting but that'd be too suspicious and would go along to well with Soarin's initial idea, "Well...yeah but I mean he didn't exactly tell me anything about quitting, half our conversations were just about getting pictures.
"And he didn't try to reject your offers and what not?" said Sandalwood.
"Well of course he did" Flash had to think quick, "It was a bit weird. He seemed mad when I asked him about it, he then told me that 'No more pictures, that pansy Jameson has turned the city against me' , and he swung off."
Soarin stroked his chin, "Gee I think the guy was dealing with some serious stress." Flash's eyes widened, they were basically figuring out one part of the puzzle, Oh my god Flash you better have not set yourself up for anything!
"wh-What make's you say that?" Flash asked with a stutter.
Luckily it didn't seem to phase Soarin at all and he continued, "Well, it's just a hunch but maybe Spider-Man just started to feel like protecting the city was too much to handle and he just quit, I mean I've never felt that type of stress before but I mean, well in a way we could maybe... relate to Spider-Man, I mean I don't know what he has going on his life." Soarin was trying to wrap his head around his own idea but just discarded it, "Nah it's probably nothing, maybe he just got tired or something."
Flash felt a sigh of relief, Thank God! The all began to walk to class while some stayed and watch the footage, most notably the Equestria Girls.
"I don't believe it!" said Sunset, "He's actually gone!?" she was in disbelief.
"Well it's not irregular for someone to give up on something." said Twilight, "But yeah it is still a bit of a shocker."
"Yes I do suppose it is rather a shame that he's quit, but I agree with Twilight, giving up on something is in the human nature." Rarity agreed.
Rainbow Dash who had though her parents were ones to despise Spider-Man, did grow to at least acknowledge him, "well maybe it's for the best. I mean people really, really don't like him!"
Applejack crossed her arm, "That no good Jameson is probably whut drove Spider-Man outta this city! Man I oughta give Jameson what he deserves!" Rarity put her hand on her girlfriends shoulder, prompting her to cool down a bit, "Whut? I can't voice my opinion" Applejack shrugged at Rarity.
Fluttershy agreed with Applejack, "Yeah! That Jameson is a big meanie!"
Pinkie Pie just shrugged, "Well who knows, maybe he's been through some experiences like losing his powers or something and along with that dealing with the many stresses that this city has to offer prompting him to stop being Spider-Man and throw away all his costume, permanently quitting. But hey that's just a hunch" Pinkie Pie shrugged and smiled.
The rest of the main seven seem to disagree, especially Sunset, "Yeah I lost you when you said 'many stresses'"
The Bell rung which meant classes were about to be in session which made the rest of the crowd walk towards their classes.
Meanwhile in classes, the talk about Spider-Man wouldn't simmer down, it was crazy, Flash was sitting in his desk opening a textbook to hide his uneasy face, My god! I knew this was gonna generate some news but I didn't think Spider-Man was still gonna be the talk of the town, this is outrageous!
Classes began eventually after the bell rang and the teacher walked stormed inside the room holding her textbook, "Alright Class, turn your pages to page 253" Instructed the Mrs. Cheerilee, "Let's continue our lesson yesterday."
Meanwhile, Electro now being fully recharged again and now holding more electricity than ever brings both Flint Marko and Alex O'Hirn to The Big Man. "I've found Maro and O'Hirn" The three of them walked inside with a bunch of goons holding Marko and O'Hirn at gunpoint behind their back, just in case they'd try anything stupid.
"Good." Big Man tapped his fingers, "Boys! Leave us." He ordered. The goons left the office leaving Big Man in a room with Electro, Alex and Flint. "So... how was your street voyage?"
Flint however wasn't having any of it and demanded Big Man to cut to the chase, "Okay ya freak why'd you drag us here? We know that you're involved that bastard Kingpin!"
Big Man smirked, he'd expect an introduction like that from one of Kingpin's former lieutenants, "I want to offer you a proposition"
"What kind of proposition?" Alex asked.
"I want to offer you a, 'special position', a type of job Kingpin never offered you!"
Flint looked less than impressed, "What's in it for us eh? Last time we got ourselves involved in this type a' business we got fucked in our asses!"
"That's why I'm giving you something better than Kingpin, I will pay you handsomely for your duties, and I will provide you with some additional power."
Flint and Alex who assumed power was a share of the city and having control of a part of the city were also hesitant to take up the job offer, but at the same time they would never get this type of opportunity again so they took a gamble with Big Man's offer, "Okay.... I'm in!" Alex hesitantly agreed.
"Yeah you know what count me in too!" Flint followed.
Big Man smirked wickedly, "Good. See me in a few weeks from now, I have some plans for you, but until then you two should lay low for a while." Big Man's two new 'employees' nodded and left the building, they knew of a place where they could hide out for a while and headed to that area.
That left Electro in the room with Big Man, "So I heard about your little interaction with Spider-Man yesterday." Electro's eyes widened for a moment and then he frowned, almost looking like he was gonna burst out in anger, to him he felt humiliated he was almost beaten by some goofball wearing a costume.
Electro began to speak, "Yeah about that I--"
Big Man however interrupted Electro with some shocking, (again no pun intended) news,"Too bad that's the last time you two will ever see each other!"
Electro looked confused and arched an eyebrow, "Why?"
Big Man took a deep breath, "He gave up!"
Electro's whole tone changed, from confused to shock, "What?"
"Yup! He's given up on being Spider-Man, haven't you seen the news?"
"What do you mean he's given up? and what happened on the news?" Electro demanded.
"Well earlier today The Daily Bugle reported that they had received Spider-Man's actual costume, and there hasn't been any sighting on him today at all, he's done" Big Man chuckled a little, "You know this might make things easier for us now, with the bug out of the picture there's no one that could stop us, not even the authorities!"
Electro however felt like he and Spider-Man had some unfinished business they could've taken care of, well mainly him, he wanted to kill Spider-Man and end him with his own hands. But this, there was not even any words that could be told to describe Electro's sheer bewilderment of Spider-Man's sudden change of heart, "Why? Why would he quit like this?"
Big Man shrugged, "Maybe he realized that it was pointless to go up against Canterlot's crime. I mean who knows, maybe right now he's crying in a corner or something, I don't know."
Flash was walking to the Sweet Snacks Café with Sandalwood, school had finally let out and Flash hadn't felt any better, he was less stressed than before and he got all of his work done just before the day ended, he was finally back
to the consistency he once lost as being Spider-Man.
"Aw man! Mr. Cranky Doodle is killing us with all these math assignments!" said Sandalwood as he and Flash walked inside, "When are we gonna even use trigonometry in the real world anyway?"
"Well.... maybe if you become a math teacher." Flash joked.
Sandalwood thought about that statement, "Touché Flash, just Touché"
Flash shrugged jokingly as they made it to the line, "And besides what's there to even hate about Math? Sure it can get tricky but still if you view it in a different way it could be fun, like viewing as a game or a puzzle."
Sandalwood chuckled, "Well I think you're the only one who actually thinks of it that way."
"What about Micro Chips?"
"He's Micro Chips Flash, he probably thinks of Math as baby food, it's to easy for him and you."
"Well you seem to like Physics." Flash pointed out.
"Well yeah but that's only because it's actually interesting enough for me to actually learn about, and besides Math to me is just a bunch of numbers."
The two continued to have a debate about Mathematics and Physics, to see which one was clearly the better one, that was until the two made it to the front of the line, that's where Flash had the biggest surprise of his life, "What.... is.... that?" Flash looked at a red sugar cookie, with icing art resembling Spider-Man's face.
Doo Wop, a waitress who had amber skin, purple hair and wore a waitress uniform turned to the surprised and a little shocked Flash, "Hmm? Oh these! Well there Spider-Man sugar cookies silly."
Flash's shoulders dropped, he knew he set himself up for a stupid question but he needed to make sure he wasn't losing his marbles, "But.. why?" Flash asked feeling very confused.
"Well it's our establishments personal way of saying 'thank you Spider-Man!'" Doo Wop informed, "Y'know after the news got out that he quit and all that." Flash felt so surprised and confused, the whole city hated home as far as he knew, why would everyone all of a sudden just start appreciating Spider-Man now that he's gone?
"Would you like one?" She smiled, handing him a cookie, "It's free!"
Flash snapped back into reality, "Huh?! Oh! um.. sure I'll take one! Oh could I also get an iced latte?" She handed him and went over to a brewer to make an iced latte, she came back holding the cold beverage.
"That'll be $2.56" Flash handed her the money and sat at a booth, waiting on Sandalwood.
He set the latte on the table top and looked at the sugary Spider-Man treat he'd been given. It was a dark red cookie, meant to represent his hoodie, with light red icing to serve as the mask base, with the added black frosting as the web pattern and black lens outlines, and cream cheese frosting as the color of the lens pieces.
"Man.... they really did a good job with this." Flash smirked a little as he stared at the cookie, but too bad he wasn't Spider-Man anymore to really appreciate it, still though it was a little nice knowing that some people did appreciate Spider-Man. Flash took a bite out of the cookie. There was nothing really significant about it besides the design but it did taste pretty good and it was decently chewie.
Sandalwood got out of the line and was about to head towards Flash, only to see Fluttershy sitting with her friends at one booth, they were usually open to let Sandalwood to hang out with them whenever he could, he looked back at Flash who was one booth ahead of them, he knew he shouldn't just ditch Flash to go hang out with his girlfriend, but at the same time he wanted to go see her so badly.
He ran up to Flash, who was taking another bite out of the cookie, "Hey Flash, I know this might make me sound like a bit of a dick friend but... do you maybe think I could go hang with Fluttershy and her friends?"
Flash looked behind him and saw Fluttershy and her friends, they were all eating together and doing some homework, it made him widen his eyes a little when he saw Curly Winds sit at the same table, but he understandably let Sandalwood go be with her, "Sure", Flash shrugged, "I was gonna head out anyway."
Sandalwood smiled, he was lucky to have such a good friend who understood people, "Oh my god! Thanks bro, I owe you one!" Sandalwood went off to the booth behind Flash and covered Flutterhsy's eyes to surprise her, Flash smiled a little, at least one of my friends are having good luck. He headed for the door.
At that moment, something really awkward was about to ensue. As Flash opened the door he accidentally walked into someone as he walked out, this caused the drink he was holding in his hand to nearly fall to the ground if it wasn't for Flash catching it.
"Sorry I didn--", as Flash looked up to see who he bumped into his eyes widened. Sunset Shimmer, the girl who dumped him really harshly, stood there with the same surprised expression. Flash hadn't even talked to her in a few days, it was honestly weird seeing her in public again. "Oh-- Uh...… Hi?" Flash was nervous out of his mind, the last time they talked Sunset was really reelin it into him, but Flash honestly didn't blame her in anyway.
"Uh..... Hi." She replied back in the same nervous tone, it was just as weird to see her ex standing right in front of her. They stood their for a few seconds, looking at each other nervously.
"Uh..... I'm just gonna go...." Flash arched his back upright and began to walk away from the scene rather quickly, it was weird he was crazy for Sunset only a few days ago, now he was more nervous to be around her than he was before they even dated.
Sunset watched as he left, watching him leave so quickly made her feel a little awful inside, all the words she said to him were coming back to bite her in the ass. She shook her head, she was with Curly Winds now, that's the boy she would focus on, she took a deep breath and walked inside.
Flash finally slowed down and started walking normally, he took a drink out of his latte and calmed himself down, What's wrong with you Sentry?!Flash was now personally attacking himself, You see the girl who you use to date and you act like an awkward moron?! Flash had no idea why he acted out like that around Sunset.

Flash had gotten home, he hung up his black hoodie and walked to the living room, "Mom I'm home!" Flash walked inside to the living room and got greeted by his mother.
"Hi Flash Sweetie! Good day at school?" She ran up to her son to hug him.
"Yeah!" He sat on the couch and let out a sigh, "Mom could I ask you something?"
"What is it?"
"Well...….." Flash trailed off for a moment, what he was about to say was really awkward.
"Hey, you can tell me." His mother encouraged Flash to speak up, wanting to know what troubles him so.
"Well.. me and Sunset kind of bumped into each other today."
"Oh, well I don't see why--", She stopped for a moment, taking in what Flash said she realized why he was feeling awkward, "Oh, OH! So you two had a brief confrontati--- Oh! so I'm gonna take a guess that it was."
"Awkward", Flash finished, "It was really, really awkward, and I thought that I could talk to you about it to see how you would view the situation."
Sabrina stroked her chin, "Well, what made it so awkward?"
"Mom, I couldn't even form a human sentence to her, I just said Hi and stood there before walking off quickly, I don't why I cant talk to her the same anymore, y'know before we were dating."
"Well Flash... Dating and Romantic Relationships aren't a bed of roses, I mean way before I met your Father I had so many other boyfriends and flings, when I went through my first break up it was heart breaking for me, it wasn't exactly easy for me to see him the same again and things got weird in public, but after a while we became really good friends, and he introduced me to Lucas."
Flash took his mom's words into consideration but then discarded some of what she said, "Mom I'm--- I'm not sure it's as easy as that anymore, I mean" He let out another sigh, "well you know how times change, people tend to change too."
Sabrina took a quick pause and asked him something that was probably still sensitive to him, "Flash, how did your breakup with Sunset even happen, what caused it."
Flash's eyes widened, he hadn't even tell anyone how things between Flash and Sunset become the way they did, "I'm not sure I want to talk about it, you might be disappointed--"
"Flash don't say things like that!" His mother interjected, "Just tell me how it happened, I'm not gonna ridicule you for it." She wanted to help Flash out but she needed to know the situation.
Flash took a deep breath, "Well, it happened the night they had their big show, when you dropped me off, As I was walking I heard police sirens down the road, I also saw.. Spider-Man swinging with the Police, I had my camera on me and I thought I could get pictures of him for the bugle, that was probably the most dumbest decision I'd ever made."
Sabrina was beginning to understand where it was going, "So you left to go take pictures and you ended up missing the show, didn't you?"
Flash put his hands on his eyes to cover the tears he felt were probably swell up, "I messed up okay!." His voice began to quiver, "I messed up real bad, now-- now she won't ever look at me the same way ever again!"
Sabrina put her arms around Flash, she knew he didn't mean any harm, at the same time she could've probably imagined what Sunset felt like as she was once in her place too, when one of her boyfriends missed a date or two, "Hey! People tend to mess up Flash it's not the most abnormal thing in the world, just... let that night be a lesson to you, a lesson to teach you not to--"
Sabrina stopped, she put her arms off of Flash and put it on her chest, Flash felt it and looked up to his mother, "Mom?" She began breathing heavily, like she was running out of breath. Flash had no idea what was going on. Sabrina staggered to her feet, clutching her chest even harder, she felt so much pain in her chest for no reason and it was getting harder to breath.
"Mom! What's going on?!" Flash was getting worried, he had no idea what was going on.
Sabrina took one last gasp before fainting, "MOM!" Flash ran to her and caught her before she could fall to the floor, "MOM! MOM! WAKE UP!" Flash was shaking her and trying to wake her up, but it was no use, she was motionless, "MOM!"

Author's Note
Okay so this is the 6th chapter of FSTSS Issue #2 Rebooted, so in this chapter Flash is trying to adjust to a regular life again, I add some reactions to people finding out Spider-Man quit.
I also show Electro's reaction, feeling unaccomplished and a bit disappointed but ultimately accepts the fact. Speaking of which I bring back Flint Marko and Alex O'Hirn, otherwise known as Goblins goons from the first story.
