Apple Bloom's Timber Wolf Guardian

Apple Bloom opened the front door of the house before walking inside. She pulled her red wagon with her new pet in it and its supplies. It was a gorgeous variety of greens which earned it the name Jolly Pear. Apple Bloom won her at a ball toss fair game by flawlessly throwing three balls into three cups in a row.

“Applejack, Big Mac, I’m home from the fair and got a new fish for a prize!” she yelled loudly as she let go of her wagon's handle to close and lock the door. She was met by the same response every day. No reply from her siblings. After Granny Smith passed away, her siblings formed a tight bond with each other but developed a rocky relationship with Apple Bloom. The filly assumed it was part of grief progression.

She wheeled her cart to the kitchen to get her dinner. It was a plate with an unknown food that was lazily covered with foil. She removed the foil to see the food was three slices of single topping pizza. Then she put the plate of food into a microwave and turned it on. She checked on Jolly Pear as she waited for her dinner to be done cooking. Her pet fish swam in the direction of her face and gave the best smile that it could. She returned the same sweet gesture.

Beep, beep, beep!

The microwave’s sound signaled to tell Apple Bloom “food is done”. She took her delicious smelling dinner out of the microwave and held it with her mouth. She placed it into the wagon beside her pet and closed the microwave’s door. Pear immediately swam against her plastic bag and stared at the food. Her eyes opened wide and sparkled like mini fireworks.

“Pear, it is my dinner. I will feed you when I put you in your new home!” Apple Bloom exclaimed. With a sweet smile on her face, she grabbed the cart’s handle and started to move the wagon to the base of the staircase. Jolly had the saddest expression that would make Fluttershy cry. Apple Bloom was not aware that she accidentally made her pet upset because she was busy carrying her stuff to her room. After she brought the rest of her stuff upstairs, Jolly Pear was the only thing left in the wagon.

“Jolly, I will try to gently carry your bag to my room as best as I can. I won’t drop you, I promise,” The filly assured softly. She began to pick up and hold her betta’s temporary container, using her mouth for a firmer grasp. Then she placed her wagon in its spot in the living room. She slowly and carefully climbed up the wooden staircase with her pet fish. Jolly was perfectly calm while Apple Bloom carried her. She got used to ponies holding her to transport her. After a slow creep up the stairs, they both made it to Applejack and Big Mac’s room. Her siblings shared the room because of personal reasons that they did not bother to tell Apple Bloom. She heard muffled noises from their room. She didn’t seem to care though as they occurred every night. She looked away from the door and headed towards her bedroom.

After a moment to decide whether or not she should lock her door, she chose not to lock it so as not to irritate her siblings. Then she went to the table with her new fish tank on it. She put Jolly beside her new home. Fluttershy kindly gave the aquarium and other pet supplies to her. To set it up, the filly installed the tank’s filtering system and plugged it in. Secondly, she poured water from a bottle into the tank. Lastly, before adding Jolly Pear into her new home, she dropped a small pill that would dissolve to unleash its materials to clean the water.

Jolly was excited to explore her new habitat and was even happier to be in there instead of in a plastic bag. Her home had lots of great hiding places that she could explore to her heart’s delight. Fluttershy also put river rocks in there to create the floor of the fish tank instead of plastic beads or sand. Lastly, there were plenty of mosses that would replenish the oxygen and boost Pear’s immune system.

“I will let you eat your dinner while I eat mine,” Apple Bloom said with a smile on her face as she fed Jolly a few food pellets. She inquisitively watched her betta eat its food like a mini shark serrating through its prey’s flesh.

The filly fetched her dinner and started to eat it while she watched Pear. Unfortunately, her meal was a cheap knock-off pizza that even a homeless pony wouldn’t call ‘good’. She wished Applejack and Big Mac would save their good cooking for her for once. Reluctantly, she began to eat the pizza regardless because she was starved. After she ate her dinner, she threw her paper plate in her small trash can.

“Goodnight, Jolly Pear. You are the best thing that ever happened to me,” Apple Bloom proclaimed honestly. She turned off Jolly’s aquarium light then she climbed into her bed and went to sleep.

The betta was very concerned about her owner when she said her goodnight. Surely there were other things in her life that brought her joy. After observing her for a few minutes, it swam down to the bottom of its tank and began to rest.

Apple Bloom entered into her dreamworld and was happy to dream every night. It was a temporary relief from her siblings' abuse. Her world was an exotic animal haven that had the most beautiful landscape. Its surroundings full of colorful and varying creatures. There was a gorgeous waterfall in the middle of and there was a rainbow above it. There was also a cave behind the waterfall that housed a log cabin. The filly excitedly trotted out of that cabin while holding a picnic blanket with one of her forelegs.

Meanwhile, Luna was quietly watching the filly at a distance. The princess believed this particular dream was a way for Apple Bloom to move on from her grandmother's passing. To aid in the filly’s grieving process, Luna gave her time to hope and to eventually move on with her life.

Unfortunately, Apple Bloom got worse over time. Luna was in her dream to figure out what was wrong with her.

“Who is ready to have a picnic?” Apple Bloom asked with the biggest grin on her face as she put her blanket on the grass. Her imaginary pets cheered as loud as they could and came to her. Prestige looking silverware, cups, and plates that had all sorts of food on them appeared in thin air. There were salads, pies, cakes, and slices of bread for everyone to eat. Everyone’s cups automatically filled with their favorite drinks.

Apple Bloom enjoyed each of her animals as her family and rubbed all of their bellies for a few moments each. They made the filly giggle when they let out a satisfied sigh of pure happiness. She then fed fake Jolly Pear a few pieces of bread crumbs. Apple Bloom loved her dreams because Applejack and Big Mac would not hurt or abuse her in them. However, every good thing always had a downside.

As a truly twisted ending in a story would go, a false sense of hope would arise. Apple Bloom felt fearful as she heard a chainsaw chewing through trees in the distance. All of her animals were scared to death and huddled around her to attempt to protect themselves. They always failed and only created more mental scars for the already fragile filly. Her nightmares consisted of effortless slaughtering of each animal-one by one-each night. She shook uncontrollably in terror.

“Honey, we finally found Apple Bloom, where she was hiding from us over these years. She also has lots of furry friends tryin’ to protect her from us. Do you want me to despatch them now, honey?” Big Mac asked, wielding a bloody chainsaw with a merciless expression on his face. He cut through the last of the tree barrier between him and his younger sister as if he were cutting paper. His chainsaw managed to snag a small animal, slaughtering it in the process and causing blood to cling to it like sap to a tree.

“Not yet, hun. We are going to slowly kill them in front of her one by one. Then we will kill her because we don’t want her to rot our new family bloodline!” Applejack answered with a noticeable hiss in her voice as she walked beside him. She pulled out a massive caliber hunting rifle that could blow a giant hole in the filly’s body in a single shot. Apple Bloom was frozen and lost all control of her bladder, leaking fluids everywhere as a result of being afraid to die again. Her flight instinct was not able to budge her.

While Luna drank the coffee from her “best princess mug” she saw AB’s nightmare truly was. She spit out her coffee in shock and disgust. The princess knew the situation was caused by abuse and misunderstanding. Wanting to see it no longer, Luna sprang to life and flew closer to where the problem was.

Applejack and Big Mac crept towards Apple Bloom, and her furry friends knew she was trapped as badly as a rodent in a mouse trap.

AJ unstrapped her hunting rifle from her back and aimed it at the animals. Apple Bloom felt her heart skipping a beat as her bear buddy protected her by moving his body in front of hers.

“I must stop this nightmare now!” Luna exclaimed with the most urgent look on her face as she cast her dream breaker spell. Unfortunately, it failed due to one little reason. The filly's dream is artificial, not a real event. She must be taken out of the nightmare first. In a single second, Luna flew down and grabbed Apple Bloom and flew her to a portal. Applejack’s shot always missed its target because Luna was always there to save Apple Bloom.

“You are safe n…” The princess said. She quickly dodged a massive bullet that was aimed at her forehead. She was surprised that the nightmarish AJ even attacked her. Nightmares rarely tried to kill her, but this one took the cake. She dodged gunshots in the air like a war jet while Apple Bloom began to cry. The filly thought her big sister murdered her pets with her gun again. The princess’ gateway was just a few feet from them.

Before they could reach the exit, Applejack finally found her mark on Luna. The large-caliber hit and destroyed her right-wing in a mess of flesh, blood, muscles, and bone splinters. Through the insane pain, Luna glided to her portal while holding on Apple Bloom.

After closing her gateway, she rolled onto her back and put the filly on her belly to prevent Apple Bloom from getting injured from the impact. The alicorn’s body embraced the impact and slid into the hall of the dreams.

“Shhhh, Apple Bloom. You are safe now,” The princess of the night exclaimed with a soothing tone in her voice after taking a few moments to recover from the nasty landing. Her aching body slid against the king of nightmares’ dream door. It was a door the size of a black hole. Thankfully, it did not absorb matter like one.

Luna gently rubbed Apple Bloom’s back and sang a beautiful lullaby. The filly calmed down and stopped crying as she listened to the princess' song. It melted all of her worries like ice. In a split second, Apple Bloom went from calm to horrified as she noticed the goo seeping out of what was supposedly Luna's wing.

“What happened to your wing, Luna?” Apple Bloom asked with a shocked expression, afraid to touch the wing.

“It is my alicorn healing. Anyway, I have a crucial question for you. Are Applejack and Big Mac abusing you?” Luna unleashed her loaded question with a serious look on her face as she directly looked into filly's eyes.

“Y…” Apple Bloom replied with hesitation in her voice before disappearing from the dream world. King opened his dream door to see what was going on after Luna moved away from it.

“Luna? Why are you lying down on the floor?” he inquired with a curious expression, looking at alicorn sprawled out on the floor.

“I have another foal abuse case. This time, it is Apple Bloom. I’m sure that Applejack and Big Mac are abusing her,” she answered sadly. As she spoke, her wing of goo transformed back into a real one. Then she got up from the floor.

The creepy humanoid smirked at her with his sharp teeth showing and stated, “Ponies and humans ar-“

“Sweetie, stop terrorizing Luna about humans and ponies, they are the same! I want my ‘chew toy’ now that I have new bucking teeth. Please, come here. So I can ‘num num’ on you.” one of his four wives cried out to him with a noticeable yet painful tone in her voice. The princess of the night gave him a disapproving look.

“Luna, she is a shark pony. Anyways, Applejack broke into Apple Bloom’s bedroom. She is smothering her with a pillow. However, her soul bounded timber wolf is going to save her and knock her siblings out,” King said with a sad expression before stepping back into his dream world and closing its door. Now, Luna was alone in the hall of the dreams and was confused about what he said to her. Reluctantly, she quickly chose not to press forward as his questions would not come with answers. The princess reluctantly left and teleported from her location to Apple Bloom’s room.

Applejack and Big Mac saw a cyan flash that temporary brightened the room up for a few seconds.

“Stop AppleJack and Big Mac! You are under royal arrest for foal abuse and...” Luna got interrupted by a timber wolf with ancient marks over its body smashing into the window. It lunged toward AppleJack and threw her against the wall like a ragdoll before the orange pony could even look at it. The impact made a loud thud and caused AppleJack to lose consciousness after hitting her head. Apple Bloom, meanwhile, was passed out and near-death because of her big sister’s beating and smothering. If the timber wolf was even one minute late to stop AppleJack, the filly would die from her.

Luna and Big Mac looked shocked and confused. The stallion slowly developed hatred toward the wooden mutt and wished it to burn alive in Tartarus. Then he charged at it. It did the same, but it lunged at him before bloody fighting broke out. It tried to bite down on one of his shoulders; however, he dodged its attack and countered with a few blows at its head.

Meanwhile, Luna was speechless and stunned. King was right about this situation! She didn’t know how he predicted this. After the alicorn snapped out of her confusion, she quickly galloped to Apple Bloom and cast a powerful shield over her. The princess moved the pillow off the passed out filly’s head and checked her pulse. She was relieved that Apple Bloom was not dead. She heard a couple of smashes and looked behind her to see what caused them. Princess Luna was surprised to see the ancient timber wolf repeatingly smashing bloody Big Mac on the hardwood floor like a ragdoll. He wrapped both of his forelegs around one of the timberwolf’s legs to break it. Its leg started to split and break under his strength as it screamed out from the pain. Big Mac held its limb and started to ready it as a makeshift club.

The timberwolf bit down hard on Big Mac’s belly and shattered a couple of his ribs before throwing the apple farmer near Applejack. He coughed up lots of his blood due to his internal injuries. Meanwhile, he saw the timber wolf slowly regenerate its limb by absorbing the broken wood around it.

Big Mac started to cuss it out while holding AppleJack’s unconscious body close to his. Then he cried with the saddest sob anyone could hear before passing out from his blood loss. A sudden dark red magic circled around their hearts before consuming them both. Then it temporarily blinded Luna and the timber wolf.

“Aaargh! My eyes!” Luna screamed in agony as her eyes felt like they were on fire. The wooden wolf fell on the floor and covered its eyes with both of its ears. After a couple of minutes, their eyes recovered from the flash.

“Where are they? I am sure that was a flash bang and teleportation combination spell! Their helper hid their magic signature! Now I can’t trace them by their magic! I will have to deal with them later. I have a fragile filly to care for,” Luna screamed frustratedly, looking back to Apple Bloom.

“I will protect you from them,” The alicorn said, placing the earth pony onto her back. The ancient timber wolf then phased through her magic shield like it was nothing. Then it moved to her and shed a couple of tears. The filly's wounds soaked up the wooden canine and started to heal them.

“I am definitely sure that I can’t get rid of you unless I kill you. Nevertheless, you saved and stabilized Apple Bloom. So, thank you, and welcome to the family,” Luna told the timberwolf with amazement on her face after seeing its healing capabilities in action. It then transformed into an ancient wooden necklace and hooked itself onto Apple Bloom's neck. The princess of the night had many questions about it. However, this was neither the place nor time for them. After collecting her bearings, the alicorn teleported herself, Apple Bloom, and their new pet to her castle.

Apple Bloom slowly woke up as she heard a heartbeat monitor and her breathing. Her oxygen mask made her feel like she was in a deep underground cave that had a minimum amount of air to survive. The noise and the state of her breathing made her anxiety soar to dangerous levels. The filly started to have a panic attack. The heartbeat monitor urgently beeped and signaled for any pony to come near. The earth pony started to cry while hyperventilating and her vision started to blur from the lack of oxygen. The last thing she saw a huge banner that said, ‘Welcome home, Apple Bloom!’ before passing out from her panic attack. Luna immediately opened the dual doors and galloped at her new adopted daughter as her filly’s timber wolf and a couple of medical staff charged in right behind her.
