Procrastination for Dummies

That cursed reminder given by none other than the worst demon out there.
Sunset Shimmer sat in front of her desktop, staring at the blank word document before her. I do not like this. I do not want this. If Sunset were a responsible young adult, she would've completed the horrific essay. Essay. What demon even thought of that? She reached for her computer mouse to look it up, but then decided against it. Eh, who cares.
What was that train of thought again? Oh, right.
If Sunset were a responsible member of society, then she would've finished that cursed paper on the Monday it was assigned. Instead, she just decided postponing it two weeks until the day before it was due was the brightest idea ever. Honestly, they should just give me a masters degree in time management. Right here, right now.
Sunset stretched her arms out, reached for her keyboard, mentally prepared herself for the horrible task ahead of her, and then... she clicked off the document. Instead of working on her assignment, she decided the best thing for her to do was to check her messages on MyStable. Haven't checked these in a few hours.
Starting at her friends' group chat, she read each message one by one, very carefully.
u guys coming to the mall today?
Oh, how I wish I could. I can't, I'm afraid I have Miss Cherilee's assignment to complete.

Wait, you guys haven't finished that yet?! She assigned it to us almost two weeks ago!
I don't have that class, so I'll be there. It alright if my sis and her friends come along?

Finishing that chain of messages, she found there were no other people she socialized with nearly enough to hold a conversation with.
Sunset closed out of that tab.
I wonder if Sweetie Belle's playing Minecraft right now. She glanced at the time.

Yeah, I'm gonna take a wild guess. No for five-hundred. Darn. Sunset drummed her fingers on her desk. She repeated the motion. She repeated the movement again, this time with little more rhythm. Once more, she added a little bit of rhythm to her tune. Sunset started to play out a melody, her fingers imitating those of a piano player.
And then she missed a note.
Guess I'm not as used to fingers as I thought I was. Yeah. That's totally it. It's pretty great being able to blame my lack of motor skills on hooves. I should write a report on that. Wait...
She reopened the word document. She read over the title she had wrote. It was a little bit amusing, in an almost sadistic sort of way. Those words that she had written at the top of the digital page seemed so aged. In truth, it had only been a little less than two weeks since she had wrote them. Time flies by when you're having fun,but then it slows down to a speed slower then a turtle on a treadmill when you're not. Seems legit.
Again, she closed out of her document, replacing it with a new tab. In the handy-dandy little space, also known as the search bar, Sunset typed the word (words?) 'Ponygram'. Upon pressing the enter key on her keyboard, many results came up. But Sunset had only one intention, meaning that she only needed to look for one. She clicked the top link, which lead her to a login screen.
Sunset clicked on the option for 'Saved Logins,' and her eyes caught a particular past account.

Gross. Drawing her teal world-see-ers away from the wretched sight, Sunset chose the login for her much newer account. After the page loaded up, Sunset noticed the concerning amount of notifications she could check. Or, rather, the lack of a concerning number of notifications. Groaning, Sunset closed all other tabs on her web browser except for the one she was working on.
WRITE. Sunset closed her eyes and focused her mind. Hey, that sorta rhymes! Sunset's parent's would've been disappointed if they saw the time. Wait, does she even have parents?
Where was this going again?
Sunset did all she could to keep that pesky organ on track. Where in the production process did someone decide, 'hey, how 'bout I torture these weird flesh things and just make them unable to focus’. Honestly, the nerve of some people.
Alright, new method. Sunset stood up from her seat and head over to her mini-fridge. Upon opening the compact temperature regulator, she looked at the food that she had. Alright, do I want orange juice or cupcakes? Eh, both.
I should really look into that. How come my automatic answer is always just ‘both?’ I wonder if there’s anything that I wouldn’t pick two choices for. Hm.
After grabbing her source of nutrients for the time being, Sunset, once again, sat down in front of her desktop.
Alright, what's something I can do? She thought for a while. I mean, I guess I could check how my streams have been doing lately. Yeah. I'll do that. Once more, she clicked off of the blank word document. Again, she opened a new tab, and with the help of... whoever invented... whatever web browser she was on for... whatever type of computer she had, she was eventually able to check her stats.

Sunset nearly threw up in her mouth. Gross. She quickly closed out of that. Which, of course, only lead her to re-face her worst enemy.
The blank word document. I swear, sometime soon, I’m gonna start having nightmares about this. Sunset thought for a minute. Or, really, she didn’t think as much as she jumbled the idea in her head a few times until it made sense in coherent words. But does it really? Does the mind ever really make sense? Does the mind even really exist, or is it nothing but a simulation? Does the mind have a language? If so, what language is the brain’s, or by extension, the universe?
I should really start working though. Alright, here we go.
