//-------------------------------------------------------// The Umbra Beast Of Yin Yang High -by Dracopony87- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Limber Leo //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Limber Leo Hello, my name is Limber Leo, I’m seventeen, crimson haired, with blue, green eyes and this is how my time at Yin Yang High went… “I’m home!” Leo called after entering his house and shutting the front door. “Hi sweetie, how was school?” Candle Wick, Leo’s mother asked while she drew up some designs for candles. “Tiring, and I think I got some paint on me so I’m gonna shower” Leo replied before heading towards my bathroom. “Alright then, once you’re done I’ll get dinner started” Candle Wick explained as she started putting away her work related papers. "You know that it’s my turn to cook right?” Leo responded as he placed his bag on the sofa. “I know, I know-” Mom started but stopped when we heard the front door being violently kicked down. Leo immediately turned around to see two armed men barge into our house and fatally shot my mother twice, once in the chest and the second in the head. “Mom!” Leo shouted before hearing another gunshot and feeling something warm trickle down from where his stomach was. The only thing Leo could think of was what had just happened as he collapsed behind the sofa while the two home intruders went and started grabbing valuables. “What...just...happened…?” Leo quietly asked as his vision started fading while he just looked his mother’s freshly dead body. ================================================= “Mom!” Leo called as he jolted up in what felt like a hospital bed only to be met with pain in his side. “Ow, ow!Oh right...mom’s dead...” When Leo called out he had also caught the attention of man wearing a sand-blue button-up shirt, sand yellow pants and brown shoes who identified himself as Detective Sleuth. “Good afternoon Mr Leo, how are you feeling?” Detective Sleuth asked him as he pulled up a chair and sat down and handed him a bottle of water. “Like I fell down five stair-wait what about my mom? Is she okay?” Leo asked, not that he didn’t already know the answer, his mom was definitely dead after the second gunshot. “Unfortunately she was found dead after officers had arrived, there were two more bodies as well, your father and his suspected accomplice” Detective Sleuth explained. “Your father and his accomplice were found mauled by some sort of big cat.” “My dad huh? Mom divorced him before I was born on the account that he was responsible for a string of home invasions and robbery so I never got the chance to meet him” Leo explained to Detective Sleuth before asking him if his mother’s body was touched by the big cat. “No, other then two bullet wounds to her body and one bullet sized wound to your abdomen the two of you weren’t touched by whatever big cat attacked the home invaders” Detective Sleuth replied before asking him why he was naked. “Huh? I was sure I still had my clothes on when I was shot and collapsed behind my sofa” Leo explained as he was now confused. “Um excuse me, I have some food for you Mr Leo” A nurse interrupted before placing a tray of food on the tray table next to Leo and quickly leaving. “Behind your sofa? Mr Leo, when officers found you, you were between unconscious between the home invaders and your mother’s body” Detective Sleuth explained as he too was confused. “Well I’m sorry but all I know was that I was that my father, his accomplice broke in, they shot my mother then me and the next thing I know was I was here in the hospital” Leo replied before grabbing the sandwich from the tray and taking a bite. “I see, well it looks like it was just a home invasion plus an attempted murder gone wrong. So I’ll leave it at that” Detective Sleuth responded before standing up and heading for the door. “I’ll take my leave, make sure you contact the police if anything else happens. Oh, and sorry about your loss” “Thanks” Leo replied as he watched detective Sleuth leave the room. “What kind of big cat would maul two people but leave an unconscious body and a dead body alone?” Leo thought as he continued eating. Leo kept on thinking about what had that day for the next three days that he was in the hospital. After being discharged he found my home had basically been messed up with the chair that his mother was sitting in still out of the table and his backpack on the sofa. Candle Wick wanted her body donated to science so that Leo wouldn’t have to worry about funeral expenses, his father on the other hand he doesn’t know what’s going to happen with his body so he was basically orphaned with a lot of inherited money and a house that he didn’t want to live in anymore. The next two days for Leo consisted of searching for a new apartment or house until he finally found an apartment in a city called Canterlot that was about halfway across the city from a high school called Yin Yang High; there was also a twenty-four hour grocery store nearby, so that’s when Leo decided that’s where he was going to move to. ================================================= After Leo unpacked and enrolled into Yin Yang High that was apparently a day and night school with the day part starting at eight AM to three PM, however the night part started at four-thirty and ended at eleven-thirty; Leo had gotten enrolled in the ladder part. Anyway Leo decided to stroll through a nearby park while wearing a sea foam blue jacket over a black t-shirt, sand brown pants, black and blue colored shoes. “Watch out!” A girl shouted as Leo walked when his arms suddenly moved on their own and caught a basketball that was about to hit his head. “U-uh is this yours?” Leo asked as he turned around and saw an athletic looking girl with rainbow colored hair done in a ponytail, magenta eyes with a navy blue tank-top, light gray basketball shorts, running shoes jogging up to him. “Yea, sorry about that dude” The girl replied before Leo tossed her the ball and watched her jog back to what he presumed to be her friends with the ball in hand. Leo watched the rainbow-haired girl and her friends play a bit before resuming his stroll. After Leo had gotten about halfway through the park he decided to rest under fairly large tree with lots of shade under it. As he was resting Leo apparently fell asleep because when he woke up it was almost sunset, with there being about twenty cats around him. Even though Leo was used to two or three cats being near him whenever he was at the park. However, this time he felt like some sort of cat deity or something but nevertheless he need to get back to his new home so he carefully traversed through the field of felines and made it back home. Once Leo was back in his apartment he plopped down on his new couch as he decided to only bring items that could fit in boxes plus his bed; Leo then turned on the TV after ordering a bread bowl from a nearby restaurant. The next morning Leo woke up at six which for is early as him as he normally slept until seven, not that it mattered since he still had eleven and a half hours until school so he just decided to try and go back to sleep unfortunately his stomach had other plans as once he turned over it started to growl out in hunger. “No I’m not gonna get up just to satisfy my hunger” Leo groaned. “Growwwlll!” Leo’s stomach let out once more. “Tch! Fine you win this round” Leo exclaimed before sitting up and getting out of bed. As he was putting on some clothes Leo realized something critical...he forgot to buy groceries so having breakfast at a restaurant would have to suffice and afterwards he would have to get some groceries. Once Leo was done making a list of what he was gonna buy he headed out in search of an open restaurant, however when Leo got further into the city he noticed there was an overwhelming amount of restaurants that were already open with customers dining. After looking around for a cafe or restaurant that appealed to him, Leo decided on a cafe called Coinky Dink World. However, when he entered he was greeted by a waitress who if not the work for gravity should would have been bouncing off the walls; she was wearing a baby blue dress with a mostly white with black trims apron, there was also a lavender, sand yellow bow belt with mostly white roller skates and a white, black sailor’s cap. “Welcome to Coinky Dink World! My name is Pinkie Pie, let me show you to your table” She explained as Leo followed her to an open window seat. “Oh and here’s a menu, let me know when you’re ready to order. Kay?” “Thanks” Leo replied after taking the menu and sitting down. Pinkie Pie then went to attend to other customers as Leo was left browse the menu that he was given. After deciding what he wanted to eat Leo got Pinkie Pie’s attention who after finishing up with a customer she immediately made her way to Leo with a pen and a notebook in her hands. “Hello, what would you like to order?” Pinkie Pie energetically asked. “I would like a red pepper omelet with bacon, hash browns, a blueberry muffin and a caramel latte” Leo listed as Pinkie Pie jotted down his order before taking the menu. “Excellent! Your order will be ready shortly” She explained before heading behind the counter where the register was and placed the piece of paper on the order rack. As Leo waited for his order he noticed two things: one, there was a lot of strange smells coming from multiple places, somewhere nice smells, others...not so much grant this could be a side effect from him waking up earlier than usual but nevertheless it was still strange; two, when Leo looked outside of the window he noticed at least ten cats staring at him from the other side of the glass. While Leo was watching the cats Pinkie Pie came up to him with his latte. “Here you go, I’ll get the rest of your order now” “Oh uh thanks” Leo replied after being snapped back to reality before Pinkie Pie nodded and went back to the counter. When Pinkie Pie came back she had a tray with Leo’s food on it and a camera in her hands. “Pinkie Pie...why do you have a camera?” Leo questioned as she placed his food down. “Oh it’s for my scrapbook, I take pictures of any new patrons” Pinkie Pie explained to Leo before her expression turned to that of a begging puppy. “So...won’t you allow me to take your picture?” As much as he wanted to say no Leo couldn’t; those puppy dog eyes had him cornered, so he ended up allowing her to take his picture which seemed to satisfy her because she immediately grabbed the camera and took his picture before shoving the camera in her hair. “Now then, enjoy your meal!” Pinkie Pie commented before heading back behind the counter and heading to another customer. After Leo finished eating his breakfast and paid he was now off to the grocery store. However, Leo only meant to buy a couple of weeks worth of food he had accidentally bought twice the amount of what he was gonna buy. “I guess I’m to used too shopping for two” Leo thought after realizing how much food he had bought while putting the groceries away. Meanwhile in an abandoned building on the outskirts of Canterlot City… “Boss, we received word that someone you might know is now living in the city and will be attending the same school” A girl said as she walked into the room that her boss was in. “Tch? And what does this person look like?” The boss asked he tossed a marble into the air. “Well he looked to be sixteen with red hair and blue-green eyes” A second girl added from behind the her sister. “No you idiot he’s seventeen” A third girl retorted after hitting her sister. “No you’re the idiot!” The second girl barked before her eyes turned bright red and light blue fin-like wings grew out of her back. “Oh you wanna fight?” The third girl retorted as her eyes also turned bright red with sea green fin-like wings growing out of her back as well. “Enough!” Their boss demanded, causing the three sisters to jump. “Is his name Limber Leo?” “I believe so boss” The first girl replied before the other two girls nodded. “What? Call the rest of the freaks, it looks like we’re going to have our revenge soon...” Their boss commanded after shattering the marble with his fist.
