3 months after the Final Battle.
“AH!” A certain pink coated filly shot up from her sleep. Sweat poured down her face, her heart was racing, and her head was killing her. Cozy Glow looked around her surroundings once her vision finally returned to her. She seemed to be in one of the spare rooms in Canterlot Castle. “What happened?” Cozy Glow reached up and race her hoof against her head. Her body felt weirdly cold and stiff, and that’s when everything came back to her. Her plan with Tirek and Chrysalis, they had lost and were turned to stone. Once she remembered this, she immediately made a mad dash towards the window. However, upon the first step, she took her entire body hit the ground with a loud thud. Cozy glow let out a cry of pain as pain shot up through her leg, as well as her body.
“I wouldn’t suggest moving that hastily just yet Cozy Glow.” The filly turned her head and found the current Queen of Equestria Twilight Sparkle was sitting in a chair near her bed. “Your body is still stiff from being turned to stone.”
“You let me out?” A small nod is all she got from Twilight. The filly turned away from Twilight, “how come? Gonna do something even worse to me?”
“The worst we could do is turn you to stone.” Cozy yelped as Twilight’s magic surrounded her and gently placed her back onto the bed. "Now we can either have a conversation or you spend the rest of your days in the dungeons.”
Cozy gave Twilight a confused look. “Why did you do that, you already sent me to Tartarus, you turned me to stone. Why not keep me as stone figure and save yourself the trouble.”
Twilight’s magic surrounded a teapot and she poured two cups. “Drink this, you need to get something in your body to warm you up. You were stone for nearly 3 months, as for your second question. After much deliberation, me and my friend decided to release you from your prison.”
“I don’t want to drink that.” Cozy slapped the cup away knocking it to the floor. “Just throw me in Tartarus, or the dungeons or the turn me back to stone. You won, I lost, you should be happy about that!”
“I wasn’t happy with those outcomes for you.” Cozy Glow once again gave twilight a strange look. “Cozy, I did not enjoy sending you to Tartarus or keeping you as stone for this long. Me and friends agree on everything, and some were as excited to release you from your prison. After everything you’ve done, some wanted you to stay as stone for the rest of time.” Cozy watched Twilight very calmly pour her another cup of tea. “Now drink that and we can have a conversation. Or I call in the guards and have you taken away and you will never see the light of the sun again.”
Cozy was a smart filly, and something told her not to test her luck with Twilight once again. So she took the cup she was offered and took a small sip from it. “Why? Why did you let me go?”
“Let me explain, do you want something to eat?” Cozy shook her head, “ok, I let you go because you are still a filly. Myself, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie did not think a filly your age should be turned to stone. You owe Applejack a big thanks, it was her vote that allowed you to be back here. What you did was bad and some will call it evil. However, you are still a foal, an extremely naughty foal, but still a foal. So we agreed as a group on a proper sentencing for you.”
“Cozy Glow.” Twilight voice raised a bit, “we have decided that we are going to try and reform you.”
“Reform me?” Cozy Glow stared into her teacup, “how are you gonna do that?”
“We decided that you are gonna be sending your time living the elements of harmony.” Cozy Glow nearly gagged at that statement, “hopefully staying with us, will help you learn more about the magic of friendship and hopefully, you see what you did was wrong.” Twilight stood up and made her way towards the door. “I’m gonna send you something to eat, also that window and this door are locked from the outside. Do not try and an escape.”
Once the door was shut, Cozy Glow was left with her thoughts. “How am I gonna free Tirek and Chrystili?” While they didn’t get along all that well, they were the closest things to friends she had had in years. They almost won! Now they were stone and she was all along once again. She had loved the magic she had, she was powerful, she was an alicorn. She thought she was gonna be the Queen of Equestria. Now she was back to being a little filly again, she doubted she could get the main six to underestimate her again. Cozy Glow let out a small yell and threw the cup with all her might breaking it against the wall. She flopped back onto her pillow and closed her eyes. Slowly she drifted off back to sleep.
Inside the throne room, Twilight informed her friends that Cozy Glow was awake. “Look I get it she is a filly, but come on Twilight.” A certain rainbow-haired mare slammed her hoof on the table. “She knew what she was doing, she teamed up with Tirek and Chrysalis and nearly took over Equestria.”
“I agree with Rainbow Dash.” Rarity spoke up, “she is smarter and more cunning than just a small filly could be. She tricked us once and almost took over, she almost took over Equestria twice.”
“I understand that,” Twilight took a seat on her throne, “but could any of you live with knowing that a filly was turned to stone when we could help her?”
“She isn’t a normal filly, foals her age should be at school. Playing with friends, having a sleepover, things like that.” Rainbow Dash listed off, “she went ahead and tried to take over the world.”
“If we can reform Discord.” Now it was Fluttershy's turn to speak up, “I am sure that we can help her see the light.”
“Discord was different.” Fluttershy gave Rainbow Dash a puzzled look.
“Discord was worse,” the room grew quiet at that. “DIscord is an amazing creature now, but before he was one of the hardest villains we ever faced. But all he needed was a friend and someone to believe in him, and now he is a great friend and ally.”
“She does have a point Dash.” The apple farmer spoke up, “I was thinking the same as you and Rarity, but seeing that filly… turned to stone like that next to two creatures that deserve it. It changed mah point of view on her.” Applejack let out a saddened sigh, “that foal, might be as sinister as those two, but unlike the other two. She ain’t completely evil.”
“Applejack is right,” a surprisingly serious Pinkie Pie spoke up. "Sure she may have done something super duper horrible. Sure she may have tried to take over Equestria, but I don't think she is completely evil."
"That is why we are doing this. If we can reform Discord of all people. I am sure that we can handle a lost filly." Twilight smiled at her friends. "We've faced harder challenges than this. This should be a piece of cake."
"If she gonna be staying with us on and off. Who is taking her first?" Rainbow Dash questioned, "I can't because I have things to take care of with the wonderbolts."
"Let the filly come with me." Everyone turned and looked at Applejack. "Good couple days on the apple farm will straighten her up a bit."
"Are we all in agreement?"
"Yes."
“Now onto the other thing, we were discussion about Cozy Glow…”.
“Sooooo bored.” Cozy Glow complained loudly, she was bored out of her mind. “I’ve must have been here for almost 2 hours now.” (Only 45 minutes have passed, but to any bored child that would be an eternity) A small click was heard and finally, her door was opened up. “Oh great, you brought the country one this time.”
“I wouldn’t be insulting me right now youngin.” Applejack gave the troublemaking filly a firm look. “After all you're gonna spend a good bit of time on mah farm doing chores.”
“And if I refuse to go anywhere with you?” Cozy Glow challenged giving Applejack a glare of her own.
“Then you spend the rest of your days in the dungeons under Canterlot where you will be erased from history.” Twilight had no intention whatsoever in doing that, but she hoped the threat would work. “We are giving you a chance, we can and will take that chance away.”
“Fine enough with the lecture.” Cozy Glow snapped, “I'll go with the farmer if that what it takes to get you to be quiet than I will.”
“I’d watch that little attitude of yours.” Applejack warned, “you won’t like where it will get you on mah farm.”
Cozy Glow rolled her eyes, “whatever you say.” Cozy Glow already had a plan running through her mind. The apple farm was huge, so she could easily slip away and flew away as soon as she could. “Wait what are you!” Cozy Glow suddenly found herself surrounded by Twilight’s magic. “Let me go now!” In a flash of light Cozy Glow dropped back onto the bed and glared at Twilight. “What did you just do to me!” She demanded with a scary yet cute look on her face.
Twilight sighed, “this was one of the things we agreed on, we know for a fact that you are gonna try and fly away.” Cozy Glow’s eyes went as wide as a full moon, as she realized what had happened to her. “So I took away your ability to fly, as well as.” Cozy Glow yelped as something was strapped to her leg. “This is a magical tracker. We can track you wherever you go, so if you even try to escape. We will find and catch you.”
Cozy Glow slowly began to take heavy breaths. “Calm down,” Cozy Glow put her head in her forearms. “Calm down and think of something else!” Cozy Glow began to shake her head a bit, as she felt tears welling up in her eyes.
“You doing ok sugarcube?” Applejack walked over to Cozy Glow, “hey look at me.” Applejack placed her hoof on her shoulder. “Hey Cozy Glow look at me!”
Cozy Glow snapped out of whatever she was going through. She looked up and quickly slapped Applejack’s hoof off her shoulder, “you win, are you happy now!” Cozy Glow suddenly screamed. Cozy ran a hoof across her eye, “let’s just go to your stupid farm already!”
“Alright,” Applejack decided it was best to give her some space. “Imma warn you one more time, watch your tone with me. Understood.”
“Whatever.” Cozy Glow hung her head in a bit of defeat. “No matter, I'll come up with a brand new plan, and this time it won’t fail.”
“We will leave once you are able to travel.” Applejack and Twilight left the room, “what in Tarnation was that about?”
“I think she just realized that she cannot escape no matter what she does. It guess it doesn’t help that I took away her ability to fly for now. Hopefully, she earns it back.” Applejack turned back towards Cozy Glow’s door.
“If we have the tracker on her, why did you take her flying away Twi?” Twilight let out a heavy sigh.
“If she could fly, we would be chasing her around Equestria for a long time.” Twilight explained, “how long is she gonna stay with you before, she comes back with me?”
“Give me a week,” a small smirk appeared on Applejack’s face. “Some good old, apple family hard work will get rid of the attitude she has.”

Chapter 3: Nightmare: Pieces Revealed
Chapter 3: Nightmares: Pieces Revealed.
“What the hay?” Applejack’s eyes snapped open. One moment she was having a very pleasant dream. The next she found herself alone in a blue void. “Where the hay am I?” She questioned as she took a few steps in the old.
“It has been a while Applejack.” The apple-farmer looked up and smiled as the blue alicorn gracefully dropped down before her. “My apologies for taking you from your dream but there is something I need to discuss with you.”
“No problem Princess Luna.” Luna gave the element of harmony a hug, “how has retirement been treating you?”
Luna broke the embrace and lowered herself down on her forelegs, Applejack joining her soon after. “It has been going quite nicely, my old friend. Celestia is currently away on a bit of a journey. I have been able to get a lot more rest and I am grateful for that. How is Equestria doing under the rule of Twilight?”
“Things have been going great, though things started off a bit rocky at the start.” Applejack thought back to Twilight’s first day as an official queen. “Twilight has really taken to the rule of ruler quite well.”
“That is wonderful to hear,” Luna’s expression suddenly became very serious. “I need you to come with me for a while. Something is wrong with Cozy Glow’s dream state.”
“What do you mean?” Luna’s horn glowed a bright blue as she opened a portal to her left.
Luna rose to her hoofs, “follow me and I will show you what is going on.”
Applejack nodded her head and followed the former ruler into the portal. “So you still go through ponies dreams at night?” Applejack asked.
Luna gave her a small nod, “I may not be the ruler of the night anymore, but I still take great pleasure in visiting ponies dreams. I make sure foals nightmares do not get too bad.” Luna asked the question that had been on her mind for a while. “Why did you and your friends decide to lift the spell on Cozy Glow?”
Applejack let out a small sigh, “I suppose it is safe to say that we all didn’t want to release her.” Applejack thought back to the meeting they had. “Rarity and Rainbow were not willing to let the poor filly out. I suppose me and the others took a bit of pity on her. I couldn’t stand starring at her trapped in stone.”
“If you are all willing to do this, then I have no problem or say in the matter.” Luna came to a stop, “just let me ask you one question… have you all thought what may happen if this doesn’t work?”
“Well… Twilight believes that this will work.” The honest truth was that they didn’t have an actually back up plan. All the stuff she said about throwing Cozy Glow into the dungeons or turning her back to stone was a lie. “That girl is betting all her chips that this will work, as long as Twilight believes in this. Then I will do my part in helping this filly down the right path.”
Luna turned back around and opened another portal. “I warn you Applejack, sometimes ponies dreams get bad. Come with me into Cozy Glow’s dream state and you might understand her a bit more.”
Applejack nodded her head and the duo entered Cozy’s dream state. “Oh, sweet Celestia.”
“That is why I brought you here.” Luna’s voice was filled with sadness. “I have only seen one other filly her age have something this bad happen in her dreams.”
“Please stop…” Cozy Glow ‘s eyes were wide with true fear. She was currently tied to chair, slowly but surely being turned into stone. “Let them go!” The filly was forced to watch as two figures were brought into the room she was in. One was a stallion with a pure white coat, the other was a mare with a light red fur. “Mommy! Daddy!”
A dark pony slowly walked into the room, “come on your choice, your lives or the life of your twisted and evil daughter!” Cozy screamed as the dark unicorn forcefully lifted her mother’s head. A dagger was lifted to her throat, “come on already tell me!”
“Why on earth would I save a filly a like that?” Cozy’s eyes widened and she looked at her mother in shock. “Do you really think that I am gonna risk my skin for a demon like her.”
“My amazing wife is right,” tears filled the poor fillies eyes. “Come on now, she is evil, a monster, she teamed up with the worst of the worst and still lost!” His voice was filled with malice. “She lost to a pathetic princess and her friends. Why would I save my daughter when she can’t even do anything right?”
“No that’s not true!” Cozy Glow screamed, “this is the part where you save me like you always do!”
“Oh be quiet already,” Cozy’s panicked eyes locked onto her mother. “My life is much more important than an evil little filly.” Cozy’s whole world went completely dark. “We abandoned you for a reason, Cozy Glow. We left you to die cause we saw evil in you, and what do you know? We were right all along.”
“You’re a monster!”
“A demon!”
“A terrorist!”
“An evil little brat!”
“You were a waste of nine months of my life.”
“Stop it!” Cozy Glow frantically looked around as the stone around her began to speed up. It covered over her back legs, her stomach and slowly up to her neck. “Your suppose to save me I’m your child!”
“If you were our child than why did we leave you to die?” Her father and mother turned into shadows and faded into the darkness. However, their voices wouldn’t stop mocking the poor filly.
Cozy Glow let out an ear-piercing scream as she was turned to stone. Suddenly she was gone, she had disappeared in a flash of bright light.
“Was that your doing Princess Luna?” Applejack asked as she wiped a tear from her eye.
Luna calmly shook her head, “that dream forced her to wake up.” With a commanding stomp of her hoof, the dream state cracked and broke into a thousand pieces. “She has had this same nightmare in the past when I have come here. Before she was revealed to be who she was. I tried to help her get over it, but she refuses to talk about her past life. Something has happened to her, something that has left a scar that will not heal.”
“How many times have you saved her from this dream?” Applejack was shocked at what came next.
“I have saved her from this dream nearly 20 times in the last 2 years. It is always different in a way but the premise is very clear. Some ponies broke into her home and gave her parent’s a choice. Save their filly or go free, it seems they choose to leave her to behind.” Luna opened a portal to her left, “Applejack I am suggesting that you go and comfort that filly. When this happens she never returns to her dreams, meaning she is probably gonna attempt to stay up the whole night.”
“It was great to see you again Princess Luna.” Applejack gave the ruler of dreams a hug before heading into the portal.
Applejack’s eyes snapped open and she found herself back in her bed. Applejack let out a small yawn before jumping up to her hoofs and carefully making her way to Applebloom’s room. Upon arrival, she found that Applebloom’s door was wide open and Cozy Glow was gone. “Now where did that filly get along too.” Applejack walked over to her younger sister and adjusted her blanket’s a bit. The apple-farmer headed down her stairs and could hear someone was mumbling in the kitchen. Applejack poked her head into the kitchen and her heart nearly broke. Sitting against the walled near the sink, barely able to hold a cup of water was Cozy Glow.
“Don’t go to sleep, don’t go to sleep, don’t go to sleep, don’t go to sleep.” Cozy slowly rocked back and forth struggling to contain herself. “They are wrong, they are wrong, they are wrong.” Cozy Glow lost her grip on the cup, dropping it on the floor and spilling its contents.
“Cozy Glow, I need you to look at me.” Applejack lowered herself down to her level and placed a hoof on her chin. “Come on sugar cube look at me.” She said a little more sternly as she gently forced her head up.
“Ah!” Cozy was broken from her trance and looked to the warm eyes of Applejack. “W-what d-do you want!”
“Easy there little one, I found you in mah kitchen like this.” Applejack placed a hoof on Cozy glow’s cheek. “Come on little one I want you to come and sit in mah room for a bit.”
“W-Why would I do that?” Cozy was meet with a very stern and knowing look from Applejack. Cozy Glow was in no mood to argue or try to be rude to Applejack. “Ok, do you want me to clean up this water?”
“That is very kind of you Cozy Glow, but you don’t need to do that this time. Just go ahead and take a seat on my bed I will be there in a view minutes.” Once Applejack had cleaned that water up, she joined the filly in her room.
“Are you mad that I left your sister’s room?” Cozy Glow asked once Applejack was back.
“No I am not mad at you, you didn’t do anything wrong yet.” Applejack climbed up onto her bed and surprised Cozy Glow by wrapping her foreleg around her. “Princess Luna showed me your nightmare tonight.” Applejack felt Cozy Glow tense up after hearing those words. “Cozy Glow what happened to you sugarcube?”
“Nothing!” Cozy Glow snapped, “nothing happened to me! Now leave me alone!”
“Cozy you do not need to tell me everything. If you are gonna stay here on mah farm I need to know more about you.” Applejack was taken a bit off guard when she felt Cozy Glow rest her head on her side. “Why don’t you tell me about your life before all of this.”
Cozy Glow let out a sigh, “I’m from Baltimare, I lived in a small house with my mom and dad. My dad was a lawyer and my mom was a university teacher. We never had issues with money, nor did we have a lot of worries. They worked most days but we always spent time together on weekends. I was always a good student straight A in all of my studies. My life was good… one night about 3 years ago someone broke in… I don’t wanna talk about what happened next.” Cozy let out a sniffle, “then I was alone until I was placed into the ponyville orphanage. Then I learned about the magic of friendship and what it truly could do. After that, I went to her school and you know the rest of that story.”
“If you don’t mind me asking. Did your parents leave you or did they pass away?” Applejack took Cozy Glow’s silence as her way of not wanting to tell her. “Ok, then you don’t need to tell me. Cozy Glow do you want to stay with me tonight?”
“Well maybe having some pony to cuddle up next to, will help you sleep for once.” Applejack gave the obviously scared filly a soft smile. “Why don’t you stop with all this foolish bravery of yours and try to relax.”
“I haven’t done that since my mom…” Cozy Glow closed her eyes as tight as she possibly could. “Since my mom and dad abandoned me.”
“Why in the name of Celestia would they do that?” Applejack saw Cozy Glow shake her head a bit. “You don’t need to tell me everything if you are not ready.”
“No, I don’t want to talk about it… could I maybe take you up on your offer and sleep with you tonight.” Cozy Glow was completely expecting Applejack to take her offer back.
“Of course sugarcube,” Applejack pulled her covers out a bit. “Now come on over here, you need to get some sleep. Tomorrow you are gonna be doing a whole lot of hard work.”
“Whatever,” Cozy joined Applejack under her blankets. “Why are you being nice to me, I’m evil, I took over Equestria, I hurt you and your friends.”
“Look sugarcube I am going to tell you this one time. You are not evil and I never want to hear you tell yourself that again.” Applejack pulled the filly a bit closer to her and nuzzled the top of her head. “I know that you were well aware of your actions, actions that you are gonna be punished for with a lot of hard work while you are here. But no matter what, you are not evil, so get that foolishness out of your head!”
“Oh goody,” Cozy Glow slowly closed her eyes. “I don’t want to have that nightmare again tonight.”
“Don’t worry,” Applejack kept this very soft nuzzle going. “You are gonna be fine, just close those eyes of yours and relax.”
Cozy Glow tried to tell herself that this was annoying her. She wanted to get out of this bed and go be alone. Everything she wanted to do right now, was overshadowed by a need to be comforted. Something that this filly hadn’t had in a long time. Eventually, for the first time in a long time, she had a peaceful night’s sleep.

Chapter 2: Welcome to Sweet Apple Aches.
“Are you gonna sit there pouting the whole trip?” Cozy Glow turned towards the Applejack and stuck her tongue out at her. “Your lucky we are giving you this second chance.”
Cozy rolled her eyes once again, “I know that you ponies keep telling me.” Cozy stunk back into her seat, “I feel like everyone is staring at me.”
“You tried to take over Equestria. It’s gonna take a while to earn everyone’s trust again.” Applejack could tell that there was something else on her mind. “Now how about you tell me what is on your mind?”
“Nothing is on my mind.”
“Then can you tell me why you freaked out yesterday?” Applejack still remembers how Cozy freaked out for a second once she couldn’t fly. “I never imagined seeing you so freaked out.”
“I don’t wanna talk about it. Now stop talking to me!” Cozy crossed her forelegs over her chest and her pout grew bigger.
“I would stop testing mah patience little filly. I ain’t gonna take disrespect from a foal as young as mah sister,” Applejack firmly scolded. The duo rode the train in silence for a while, “let me ask you something Cozy.”
Cozy Glow looked towards Applejack, “What do you want to know, wanna ask why I thought taking over Equestria was a good idea?” Applejack shook her head, the next words that came from her mouth stunned Cozy.
“Y'all wanna tell me about your parents?” In the three months since Cozy Glow had been turned to stone. Twilight did a lot of digging in her free time. She found that Cozy Glow was born in cloudsdale. However, no matter what she tried, it seemed that all information on her parents were gone. She only had two names go off of, Cozy Heart and Glowstone. Twilight was still hunting down anything she could find about her parents.
“Why do you ask that?” Cozy looked down at the floor.
“Twilight has been looking for them for a while now.” Applejack could just tell that this was a sore subject and wasn’t planning on asking too much. “We just found it weird that no one came for you.”
“I don’t wanna talk about it. Can we please talk about something else.” Cozy answered with a slight sniffle.
“Cozy Glow can you look at me for a second?” No arguments or smart remarks, Cozy Glow did what was asked of her. “What happened to them sugarcube?”
“Nothing…” Cozy went back to staring out the window, “nothing at all…”.
“Alright, I won’t ask again.” Applejack's voice was filled with sympathy, “if you want to talk to me, mah door is open.”
The rest of the ride and the walk to the Apple farm was silent. “You own all this land?” Cozy Glow spoke up finally.
“Yep, the apple family has owned this land since mah granny smith first came here.” Applejack declared proudly, “now come on I’ll show you to your room.”
“Applejack,” Applejack sighed, she was hoping to explain this to Applebloom later on. “What in tarnation!”
“Applebloom let me explained.” Applejack put her hoof up to silence her sister for a second, “Ya’ll are probably confused right now, but we are trying to help Cozy Glow right now.”
“Applejack!” Appleboom shot the pink-coated filly a death stare. “She tried to get rid of all magic, and than she tried to take over the world!”
Applejack walked over to her sister and lowered her voice. “I know it sounds so strange sugarcube. But I need you to trust me on this, have I ever lead you astray before?”
“No,” Applebloom looked at her sister with concern filling her eyes. “But Applejack, how can we ever trust her. She ain’t gonna do anything you say to here.”
Cozy Glow watched the sisters exchange a few words. She tilted her head in confusion as a shocked yet happy look appeared on Applebloom’s face. She watched the youngest of the apple family walk over to her. “Applejack wants you to follow me, she said you’re staying in mah room while you are here.”
Cozy let out a cute little huff, “I don’t even get my own room.”
"Be glad you get somewhere to rest your head.” Applebloom turned around and motioned for the filly to follow her. “Come on, applejack wants me to show ya’ll around a bit afterward.”
“Alright,” Cozy decided to play nice for a bit. Without her ability to flight and the stupid tracking spell she needed more time to plan out an escape. A tour of the whole apple farm would come in handy.
Applebloom’s curiosity got the best of her, “what was it like… you know being turned into stone?”
“I don’t remember.” Cozy Glow shivered a bit, “it was scary when my body was being turned into stone. Then everything froze, it was like being in a weird sleep.”
Applebloom opened her door revealing her room. “Applejack said she gonna see about a bedroll for ya. For now, ya’ll can use my sleeping bag.”
“I suppose it better than nothing,” Cozy Glow walked around the other filly’s room stopping at the window. “It must be fun having all this land.” For now Cozy decided to try and play nice, she knew Applebloom probably hated her. So she would at least try to make a bit of small talk.
“It is.” Applebloom hesitantly stood next to the filly, “there’s a lot of places to play and it’s fun to explore. Just stay away from the ever-free forest.”
Cozy Glow’s ears flared up a bit at that. “What’s the Everfree forest?”
“It’s a dangerous forest on the edge of our land.” Applebloom pointed towards the east, “ya’ll aren’t allowed to go there unless someone comes with ya.” Applebloom began to walk towards the exit, “come on I got a lot to show you before supper.”
Applejack watched as Cozy and her sister left the house and headed across the property. “You sure this is a good idea Applejack.” The strong deep voice of her brother spoke up, “letting that filly out and all that?”
“She is just a filly Big Mac” Applejack turned to face her brother. “I know all about her ways, she can’t fool me again. I’m planning to work her good for a while. Some good hard work for a while should set her straight.”
“I hope your right.” The soft-spoken Big Mac looked out the window as well. “What if ya’ll plan don’t work out?”
“Twilight is sure this is gonna work. I have faith in her.” Applejack responded, “besides if this doesn’t work. She is gonna go to the castle dungeons until she is ready to try again.” Applejack gave her brother a hopeful smile, “for now let’s show her some good old Apple family love… discipline.”
Cozy Glow followed Applebloom around the farm and the massive land that belongs to the family. Finally, they came to a stop by one of the rivers running through the land. “So where is this Everfree forest anyway?”
“I can show ya’ll in a bit, but we aren’t going inside of it.” Applebloom rested her hoofs in the water letting out a small sigh. “Maye one day, I can get Zeroca to come to walk with us.”
“Who’s Zecora?” Applebloom smiled a bit.
“A good friend of mine that lives in a safer part of the forest.” The more Applebloom talked about Zecora, the more Cozy Glow was interested.
“Maybe she can break this spell on me.” She thought another fact caught Cozy’s attention, “the castle of the two sisters? What is that place?”
“The former castle of Princess Celestia and Luna. Applejack said it was in ruins and to never go there.” Cozy smirked a bit at that, “maybe it has old spellbooks. Maybe something powerful is there.” Cozy got lost in her thoughts so when a soft splash of water hit her in the face.
“Hey what was that for!” Cozy Glow shot the smirking Applebloom a glare.
“Mah bad, I wanted to get your attention.” Applebloom yelped as a splash of water hit her in the face. Applebloom narrowed her eyes as giggling Cozy Glow pointed a hoof at her. “Alright, ya’ll wanna play this game!” All of Tartarus broke loose in the form of a splash fight!
“Applebloom! Cozy Glow!” Applejack walked around the farm looking for the two fillies. “Now where did they get too. It’s time for supper!”
The sweet sound of giggling caught Applejack’s attention. She headed over to one of the rivers and smiled at the sight she found. Applebloom and Cozy Glow having a splash fight were one of the cutest things she had seen in a while. “Didn’t ya’ll hear me calling you?”
The fillies stopped and looked at Applejack. “Sorry about that sis, we must’ve been having too much fun.” Applebloom was shocked at the words that came out of her mouth.
Cozy hadn’t felt like the filly she was for a long time. “That was kind of fun.” She thought to herself, she looked up and saw the sun was setting a bit. “How long have we been out here?”
“For a while,” Applejack let out a small chuckle. “Now ya’ll come on and get dry. I’ve got supper ready.”
“Ok,” the group headed back to the house and were quickly dried off. They were greeted with the wonderful aroma of what Applejack had prepared them. Once dinner was over Applejack gave Cozy Glow her first (of many soon to come) chores. Cleaning off plates and washing them.
“Why do I have to do this?” Cozy Glow complained, “I didn’t do any of the cooking or dirty any of your dishes just mine.”
“Because i asked you to,” Applejack answered as she sipped a cup of cider. “Now stop all that complaining.”
“Just stop all that complaining,” Cozy Glow mocked under her breath.
“And I wouldn’t mock me if I was you,” Applejack scolded. “Remember young filly, you are on mah property right now and I expect you to listen to me.”
“Oh, I’ll listen alright!” Cozy thought as she angrily washed the dishes. “As soon as I get to that old castle. You’ll be listening to me when I rule Equestria!” Cozy slammed a dish down in frustration, “I don’t even know what I’m doing! So I’m not doing it!”
“Now don’t get your mane in a twist.” Applejack stood up and walked over to the filly. “If ya’ll need a little help just ask for it.” Applejack took a cloth, “just follow what I’m doing ok.”
“Didn’t your ma every show you how to wash a dish?” Applebloom spoke up, the room got very quiet. Cozy Glow quickly stared at the dishes in the sink for a bit. “Did I say something wrong?”
“No… she didn’t?” Cozy Glow let out a small sniffle. “Can you please show me how?”
“Of course sugar cube.” Applejack carefully ran a hoof through her mane. “Just follow me alright.”
It took a bit of time but they finished cleaning the dishes. Cozy seemed to go back to normal, as she went to Applebloom’s room to lay down. “What happened Applejack?”
Applejack sighed and motioned her sister over to her side. “I don’t know all the details. But I can tell that something happened to her ma and pa. Something she wants to keep hidden no matter what. Don’t bring it up to her ok.”
“Of course.” Applebloom knew what Cozy Glow was feeling… she felt it before.
The night went quickly and soon it was time for bed. Applejack had come and tucked in Appleblom, and Cozy was surprised when she did the same thing to her. “Why are you tucking me in?” Cozy Glow had to know this.
Applejack gave her a soft smile, “because, I want to.” Applejack walked over and turned off the light. “Get some sleep you two.” She slowly closed the door behind her.
Cozy took a couple of deep breaths to try and contain her emotions. “Mommy….”.
