Her brother, Shining and she were left alone because their parents went away for a romantic night at a restaurant. Shining Armor was taking care of her, or at least, should have been taking care of her. Strangely, he wasn’t with her, and Twilight saw him only once since their parents went out. She didn’t question it much since he must have been tired of his day. He was training every day to be a guard when he’d grow up. Then again, the reason must have been entirely different since she, Twilight Sparkle, has won the crown of the sibling supreme, defeating Shining with her perfect grades! He must have been in a bad mood because of it. She closed her book and walked to the bookshelves of the living room to take another one; yes, she loved reading. However, when she finally came in front of her precious books, she noticed something was missing, something precious and priceless: the crown! Could she have had forgotten it somewhere else in the house!? No, impossible, she always kept it at the same place, and it wasn’t here! She ran and used her horn to take the books blocking her view away; however, the crown still was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, something caught her eye: a paper laying on the ground. She levitated it and read it aloud. Hey Twily, If you’re reading this, then you’ve surely noticed your crown wasn’t here anymore. In fact, I stole it! Why? At first, I wondered why I lost, then I remembered you had better grades and that it was a matter of talent. You won in your domain, then try to win in mine! “Hey! That’s cheating!” Twilight complained Now before you call this “cheating”, I’d like to let you know it’s still not the end of the week yet! All’s fair in love and war! I’m training to be a guard, so my talents are different from yours, I will prove I am worthy of the crown. If you want it back, you must pass all the obstacles and challenges I put in your way. I will be waiting in my castle. The winner will be sibling supreme for the next two weeks. See you soon, Twilight grunted, then threw the paper away after folding it. “Alright, I accept to play your game, villain! I’m coming, Shining!” She shouted loud enough for the whole house to hear. Twilight looked around to see if nobody was here to see her prepare herself, then teleported in a purple crystal cave. She ran to a closet and opened it, revealing several outfits and weapons. She smirked as she put on a black bandana around the head, just under her horn. She grabbed a black cylinder and a katana, then bound them to her waist after she dressed herself in a black bodysuit. She was ready. Twilight teleported back in front of Shining’s castle; it looked like he placed a magic shield to keep her from teleporting inside. She carefully sneaked in the castle’s direction and glanced at its surroundings, it was firmly protected by several guards. She gritted her teeth, then used her magic to levitate. She floated above the two guards, then hit the first in the back of the head, knocking him out. The other one turned around, but before he could do anything, Twilight shot a magic beam between his eyes, he fell on the ground. Twilight carefully opened the door of the castle, then hid behind a column as fast as possible. She scoped around and spotted three guards coming towards the entrance door. She narrowed her eyes, they were working for the colt who stole her crown; no mercy. She jumped out of her hiding place and in one quick slash, beheaded two of the guards with her katana. The third ducked just in time. “An intruder!” He shouted, ready to call for reinforcements; however, Twilight kicked him in the neck. The kick was so hard it threw him in the wall behind. She ran ahead, then turned in a corner, entering a large room; however, what surprised and horrified her were the several guards holding spears and charging magic attacks waiting for her inside. “Shining knew you’d come here, so he placed us as a line of defense. Surrender now, little filly, and let Shining be sibling supreme like he ought to be!” One guard said, taking a step forward. “Never!” Twilight yelled with no hesitation as she leaped from the floor and slammed her hoof on the guard’s cheek. The rest of them let out a war cry as they jumped on the young filly; however, she managed to dodge all of them before cutting them down with her sword. She continued by shooting magic beams on the farthest guards. Suddenly, the wounded guards’ eyes glowed in a dark light while they slowly turned into monsters made of darkness. “Just like I thought! You’re evil monster who wanted to take Princess Celestia’s throne, aren’t you!?” Twilight shouted as she unleashed a large magic beam, disintegrating the monsters in the process. Her light died down, and the room was now empty. “How could have Shining associated with such dangerous and dark creature? Not only I must take the crown back, I also have to get rid of them or else they’ll be a danger to all of Equestria!” She thought aloud as she sped up her pace. In every corner of the castle, she had to face the dark guards, and each time they were growing in numbers. The more she advanced forward, the more she had the feeling she’d fail. However, she couldn’t give up now, she was Equestria’s, her parents’ and Celestia’s only hope! Moreover, she had to honor her teacher by proving taking her as a student wasn’t a mistake! Twilight ran as fast she could without even looking around anymore, only slashing the enemies in front of her. Thus, because of her inattention, she stepped on a piece of floor slightly raised above ground level. Suddenly, six spears came out of the two walls on Twilight’s side! Fortunately, the filly reacted in time and leaped forward, barely dodging. “That was a close one…” She sighed in relief, “Now to get this over with…” “Not so fast!” A voice yelled, coming from the walls and startling Twilight in the process. Suddenly, black smoke came out of the floor, ceiling and all the walls. The smoke gathered around Twilight and formed dozens of dark guards surrounding her. “Your time has come, Twilight,” one of them said with a light chuckle, “as you see, you are surrounded and outnumbered. You have no hope of winning!” “I must stop all of this! So out of my way if you don’t want me to banish you all to the moon!” She replied, trying to sound menacing. However, they only snickered and walked closer. Twilight took a step back, trying to think of a plan. Suddenly, a large ball of light appeared in the room, right above the young unicorn’s head. The dark guards backed off in fear as, from the ball of light, emerged Princess Celestia, “Princess Celestia!” Twilight shouted in relief as the princess shot a few guards. However, she wasn’t alone; from her back, a shadow jumped in the crowd of guards and started beating them up. It was a gray mare with green pants. “Ms. Smarty Pants! You came too!” “Indeed we have, my student. We heard you needed help, so we came as fast as possible,” Celestia said as she blasted several guards to oblivion. “We’ll hold them off! Go, Twilight!” Smarty Pants added Twilight smiled in happiness as a path opened for her, she started running towards it; her goal now was Shining Armor! “Thanks! I’ll get the crown back!” “Twilight, wait!” Celestia shouted, stopping Twilight in mid track, the unicorn looked at her teacher, “I just wanted to say… you are my hero, and you are like a daughter to me! Don’t forget to read about the elements of harmony by the way!” “I love you, Twilight! You’re my best friend!” Smarty Pants added again Twilight held back her tears, trying not to cry. This was no place for cries and tears! She nodded and ran to the throne room. With no hesitation whatsoever, she blasted the door to splinters. “Well, well, well… Look who blasted through my defenses. You’re good, Twily, but still aren’t worthy of the crown. I am your last opponent!” He said as he grabbed and activated a blue lightsaber. “We don’t have to do this! If you give it back, I won’t tell on you!” Twilight tried to reason with him; however, he only laughed in response. Twilight sighed and took out the black cylinder she brought with her, then activated it as it became a lavender lightsaber. “Then, you leave me no choice!” Their lightsabers collided with each other as the two siblings used all their might to take control of the fight. It was obvious that Twilight was outclassed by her big brother, larger and stronger than her. “Give up, Twily! I’m more experienced in combat! And I have the crown! I am invincible!” Twilight was thrown on the ground, and barely blocked her brother’s lightsaber with her own. He only pushed further, his weapon slowly getting closer to his sister’s face. Twilight looked behind him and saw the crown standing on a lone shelf, she smiled thinking of a plan. She ducked under Shining and jumped behind his back, ready to strike him; however, he turned around just in time and slashed her across the face. Twilight fell on the ground and dropped her lightsaber; she sat on the floor and remained silent, her mouth slightly twitching. Shining stared at her, his nervousness increasing, then tears came to Twilight’s eyes. “No, no, no, no! I-I’m sorry, Twily! I didn’t mean it!” Shining apologised as he dropped his paper stick on the ground and ran to comfort his sister; however, little Twilight cried the loudest she ever did as tears flooded her face. “Y-You hurt me!” She cried while rubbing her cheek. Before Shining could apologise again, he heard the front door of the house open. His eyes grew larger than his head as dread came over him. “What happened here!?” Velvet screamed as she looked around the living room: everything was a mess, table turned upside down, books on the ground, and torn apart dolls scattered everywhere on the ground, “Shining Armor! Twilight Sparkle! Come downstairs this instant!” “Oh, no! Is Smarty Pants alright!?” Night Light screamed in worry. Shining turned to the door of his room, ready to reply to his parents; however, Twilight’s crying suddenly stopped. The filly smirked as she realised her plan to distract Shiny worked, she jumped on her brother’s head, using it as a platform to leap and grab the crown in mid-air. She landed on the floor with the crown in her hooves, and gently placed it upon her head. “I win!” She exclaimed happily while jumping up and down in excitement. “Y-You tricked me!” Shining replied in astonishment. “Shining Armor! Come downstairs! Now! I want an explanation! And why is your sister crying!?” Twilight Velvet’s voice was heard again in the small room. Shining Armor could only sigh; this was going to be a long night for him.
