CH.1: The Fetal Night

The Fatal Night

The day was closing to its end for the night to beginning. At the new public park in Upper Canterlot that was made to resemble the private garden of Princess Luna, There was a young royal purple unicorn stallion sitting and waiting for the moon to rise. His mane and tail, which matched the shade of his coat, and has two stripes running through them, one is midnight black and the other purple, were flowing in the dim wind. Stuck in his thought he did not notice anything around him.

“Well if it isn’t Night Star here once again.”, said a white Pegasus of the royal guards with a cutie mark of a shield so casually.

“Good evening Crackle.” Night Star said while watching the moon rising.” starting your shift early today?”

“Yes I am.” Crackle said as he walked over to Night Star.” I see that you been in another fight again.” He commented with no surprise in his voice.

“You don’t seem to surprise anymore. What gave it away?” Night Star said sarcastically.

“Well, why would I be surprised when you usually get in a fight three times a week.” Crackle said while taking a seat next to Night Star. “Who did you get into a fight this time?” he said with some curiosity in his voice. “And it’s the bruises on your side and the blood spot on top of your eye that gave it away.”

“Just with some snobbish rich punks who thought that they were hot shit.”

“What did they do to you to get into a fight?”

“The usual Crackle.” Night Star said facing Crackle now.” They talking shit about how I have no family and how I’m worthless” Night Star stated with a hint of sadness in his voice.

“Don’t let them get to you, young Night Star” said Crackle with a smile.” Just let them say what they want and don’t let them get under your coat.”

“It’s harder said than done Crackle.” Night Star said with a chuckle.

“Well that may be true but just try. You can’t really afford getting into anymore fights.”

“True.” Night Star said with a sighed.

“Night can I ask you something?”

“What is it Crackle?”

“Well I always wanted to know what is your special talent is. Since your cutie mark is a crescent moon with three stars?”

“Well Crackle I really don’t know.” Crackle gave a confusing look. “It was one night just like this when I was a foal and it was after a fight with some punks.”

“Ha ha, even at a young age you were a scrapper.” Crackle gave a grin.

“Well yeah” Night Star started to laugh to the honest truth. “That night I started to use some magic that I have recently learned and there it was after the fight.”

“So your talent is magic?” Crackle said while nudging Night Star.

“Hmm I guess, well it’s getting late and I should start heading back home.”

“Have a safe trip back home and don’t get into anymore fight.”

With that Night Star said his goodbye and stared to walk home to the Lower Canterlot.

It was thirty minutes since he left the park and had gotten onto his street. I wonder if Mariel is awake, He asked himself when he saw his home in the distance. As he got closer he noticed that the living room light was on which was odd since it was 1am. Dear Celestia, I hope that drunk isn’t up right now. He thought with anger. He stood there in front of the door waiting for the light to turn off. It has been about fifteen minutes pasted before he decided to go in.

Walking into the living room which only had a book shelf with few books, two couches, and café table that had a plate with a knife and a fork, was the one he hoped to avoid dealing with tonight.

“Where have you been?” the blue coated white mane and tail unicorn stallion asked Night Star while sitting at one of the couches.

Shit, he is awake. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to run into him today. Night Star thought to himself. “I was out in the town, Ale.” said Night Star, with disrespect evident in his voice.

“You should show me some respect boy!” Ale said with an angry tone.” And why would you be out in the town, huh?”

“I will never show you respect,” he said with a calm voice. “And that doesn’t concern you does it.”

“You better not be doing anything that will disgrace me!”

“You disgrace yourself Ale.”

A few second if silence fell into the room. They were both staring at each with anger in their eyes, when suddenly they heard some pony walk down the stairs. A black coated earth mare with fuzzy gray tail and mane started to descend

. “Welcome home Night Star.” Mariel said with a tired voice.

Both stallions ignoring her “Hmm it seems like you got into another fight again boy.” Ale said. With no pony talking to the mare she decides to go back upstairs and go back to sleep.

“Yeah I did. Does that bother you?” Night Star said with a grin on his face.

“It seems that you don’t understand me when I say not to disgrace me” Ale said with his horn glowing blue. “You should be taught a lesson boy!”With that a book flew right at him and he dodged it as Ale kept sending more books at him. Night Star was able to dodge all of them until he shot blast of magic at him, hitting Night Star on his bruised side and fractured one of his ribs, with pain shooting throughout his entire body. He was on the ground holding his side.

“Boy, you are worthless” Ale said while walking towards him “No wonder you don’t have a special talent.” Night Star started to get back up but fell back down. “Hmm weak like usual. No wonder your parents left such a worthless piece of shit behind” with that he stood up. “Have something to say boy?”

“B-B-B-BUCK YOU!” Night Star yelled and with that his horn started to glow royal purple and shot a massive blast of magic into Ale’s chest, the blast sending both unicorns into the walls. Ale hit the wall hard and fell on the grand. Night Star hit the wall and fell but during the fall he got a gash where he was injured in the fight earlier that day and blood dripping down over his right eye. Night Star was the first of the two to get up; While Ale was on the ground. The mare that was now on top of the stairs ran down to protect her husband.

“Ale, are you okay!?” she said with fright in her voice. “How could you injure him, your disgraceful little brat!” she grabbed the plate and threw it at him and missed “After we gave you a place to live!” she grabbed the knife and threw it right at him, but this time she did hit her mark as he tried to dodge it. The knife has made a massive cut through Night Star’s cutie mark which is now covered in blood. With that he fell to the floor.

. “Leave her now before I call the police!”The mare said and by this time Ale was on his hooves and grabbed Night Star in is magic and threw him though the door; onto the street of Canterlot “Never return here again.” Ale’s voice rang out before the door slammed shut.

After a few seconds of on the concrete ground, I can’t believe a fatal night like this just happen. Night Star thought to himself while trying to get up. Breathing heavily and feeling the pain on his side, his head, and on his flank.

“Fuck, I’m going to feel like shit tomorrow” with that he started to walk to a place that he knew he would be fine. So he started his walk to the garden of Luna.

Arriving at the park roughly around three in the morning, “Fuck. I’m finally here” Night Star said as he walked into the garden. “I never have been here this late before”. While walking through the park he noticed that the grass was covered in dew and was glowing under the light of the moon. The black roses were blooming more beautifully than the late hours of the night. The reflection of the moon on the pond gave it warmth that made it a nice place to lie down next to. While lying next to pond Night Star noticed that the grass around him was now covered with his blood as he began to feel light headed and, with a thump, his head fell to the grass. The only thought that went through Night Star head were: Am I going to die here? Is really my time to go? Well I don’t think any pony will care at any rate. I have no family or friends. I don’t even know what my cutie mark represents. Wait…. what was that? He heard hoof steps getting closer to him. With the little strength left in him, he opens his eyes and saw that there was a pony near him.

The mysterious pony began to pick him up, and the last thing he heard before unconsciousness claimed him was, “Night Star, you will be fine. I promise!” as he started to gallop of to the streets of Canterlot.

CH.2: Light Of Hope

Where am I? Why am I in so much pain right now? Am I died? Wait that can’t be it, if I was I wouldn’t feel pain right? Why do I feel so warm? I hear some ponies talking. Who are they? Night Star thought while gaining consciousness. With the little energy he had, he was barely able to open his eyes. When he opens them, he suddenly shut them. The bright lights in the room made him go blind. He reached with his hoofs to rub his eyes and opened them once more. Now he had fuzzy sight but only last a few seconds. With is sight back to normal he realized that his right eye was covered but was more worried about where he was. looked around at his surroundings, He noticed the white walls with a few pictures of landscapes and cupboards filled of medical equipment. I guess I’m in the hospital. The door started to opens and a brown unicorn stallion with matching tail and mane with a white doctor coat walks in and a levitated a clip board from the end of the bed.

“Good morning Night Star, I see you’re awake. My name is Dr. Shine. How are you feeling?

“I’m in pain but besides that I’m doing fine.”

Chuckling “I assume you will be in pain but this will help” he floated a cup of pain killers for him to drink, which he proceeded to do. “Let those settle in and you’ll feel better.”

“Doc, how did I get here? How long have I been out for?”

“Well, Crackle brought you here when he found you passed out at the park and covered in blood and you been here about 4 days.”

“Do you know where he is?” Night Star said hoping he is around.

“He is outside would you like him to come in?”

“Yes please” with that the doctor left to inform Crackle that Night Star has awaken and that he wanted to see him. After a while he saw an armored Pegasus. “Thanks Crackle”

“No problem Night Star.” Crackle said with a smile. “What happen to you?”

“Got into a fight with Ale and a small one with Mariel.” Night Star Said.

“What!?” Crackle said with furry.” Those are great offends. They will do time!”

“Crackle let them be.” Night Star said with a relax tone.

“Are you sure Night Star?” Crackle said with a worried voice.

“Yes I am and what is going to happen to me now?”

“Fine, if you say so Night Star.” After a few seconds, Crackle spook again.”I talk to the Princess to see if she can find some relatives of yours?”

“Ha, Crackle I have no family” Night Star Said with Sadness “even if I did why would they take me in. they never met me before”

Crackle stood there taking in what Night Star said but couldn't say anything else. At that moment two other guards came in and right behind them the princess.” Good morning Crackle and good morning Night Star” Princess Celestia Said with a voice that can tame a wild beast.

“Good morning princess” Crackled said while bowing.

“Good morning Princess Celestia.” Night Star said.

“Crackle, guards can I have a moment alone with Night Star?” with that all the guard left the room and it was only Night Star and the princess. “Night Star what do you know about your family?” the princess asked.

“Nothing much besides that I was abounded by my parents when I was barely born.” With a sad Look on night Star Face said.” but why do you ask?” Night Star said with confusion.

“What about relatives? She asked ignoring his question.

“Don’t know.” With sadness in the voice of Night Star.” But not trying to be rude but why are you asking this questions?”

With a chuckle “you are not being rude. I did some research on you and I have found some information that you will shed some light of hope.”

“What is it?” Night Star asked with hope in his voice.

“Well to start this of you please don’t ask question until I finish” with a nod from Night Star she Continued “You come from a minor noble house from your dad side young Night Star. Your father’s sister who is the head of the house currently with her husband. They have two children. You may have heard of them. One is the captain of the royal guards and married to my niece Cadence and the other has saved Equestria several times and is my person student.”

“Shining Armour and Twilight Sparkle!?” Night Star said with surprise and confusion. “Sorry about that.”

“That is alright” the princess chuckle. “Yes I am talking about them. I will send a letter to twilight to let her know that she has a cousin that will be staying with her starting tomorrow.” The princess said with a smile.

“Wait, what do you mean going to stay with her starting tomorrow?” Night Star said with confusion “and what about my mother? Do you know anything about her?”

“Sorry but I don’t know anything about your mother and yes you will be staying with her so you can get better and so you can be around family for once.” The princess said with a smile that can kill.

“Thank you princess”

The princess gave a smiles that said No problem and with that she started to head to the door “princess wait.”

“What is it Night Star?” The Princess said while turning to face Night Star once again.

“Will twilight be the only one that will know of me?”

“Yes. Why do you ask?” the princess said.

“Can we keep it that way? I don’t want to get the rest of her family involved just yet.”

The princess looked puzzled but didn't want to ask why he requested this.” If you wish Night Star.” She said with a smile.” Will that be all?”

“Yes. Thanks again princess.”

“No problem” She said with a smile. With that she left the room. Wow starting tomorrow I will be living with a pony who I never meant before that is family. Hmm I wonder what she is like? Stuck in his thought Night Star drifted into slumber once again.

That night in Ponyville a young purple unicorn mare was reading a book until she heard her assistant yell out at her from the kitchen. “Twilight you got a letter from the princess!”

“Really?” Twilight started to trot down the stairs. I wonder what it is. When she saw the letter she used her magic to levitate the letter from her assistant claws. “Thanks Spike” and with that the young purple dragon when back to the kitchen to finish making Dinner. Twilight opens the letter and reads:

Dear Faithful student Twilight Sparkle,

I have good news for you. I have found a lost relative of you from your mother side. His name is Night Star. He is a few month younger than you are Twilight. He is your uncle’s son that not many ponies know of. He is a royale purple unicorn with a mane and tale of the same shade of his coat but he has the family mark of the strips going throw them which are a midnight black and purple. He was recently injured and is currently in the hospital. He will be living with you for a while until he gets better. He will be arriving at 12pm tomorrow in Ponyville. This is an order from me. He doesn’t have anything left in his life. You and your family are the only family he has and I have not informed your parents or brother yet from a request of Night Star. It will take time for him and you to get along and feel like family but make it work for both of you. I do feel that you two will get along well.

Twilight read the letter over and over with confusion. “Umm Twilight are you okay?” Spike ask her while nudging her.

“Huh? Yeah I am. I think.” The confused mare said.

“Are you sure? You seem shocked.”

“Spike, get the guest room ready for tomorrow”

“For what? Are we having guest?” Spike asked confused.

With a weird tone in her voice.”Yes. It will be my cousin that I never knew I had named Night Star”

“Oh. alright.” The baby dragon said while walking towards the guest room.”Wait… WHAT!?”

Ch.3: Off To Ponyville

It was eight in the morning when Night Star was allowed to leave the hospital. He left the hospital with proscriptions for his wounds and half of his body wrapped up in bandaids. He got a quick bite before heading to the spot he will miss the most. With his stomach please, he started his walk to the park of Princess Luna. It was about a 10 minute walk from the diner that he ate at. When we arrive at the park, he went to his favorite spot in the park. He sat under a tree that was close to the pond. He was at the park for about 2 hours. He was deep in thought when suddenly he was brought back to reality and losing his concentration.

“Good morning Night Star” a sweet voice came from behind him.

“Oh good morning princess Celestria” Night Star said taking a bow.

“Did I interrupt your thoughts?”

“No not at all princess.”

“Are you sure? What is on your mind young one?”

“Well, I’m just thinking about everything that happen to me recently.”

“Don’t worry Night Star.” The princess said. “You will be with family within a few hours.”

“I know that but I’m just worried that it won’t work out.” He said looking down to the ground.

“Night Star, Everything will be fine. You two will get along very well.” The princess said with a reassuring smile.

“How are you sure?”

“I am because I know Twilight ever since she was a filly and from what Cracker tells me, you two will get along.” She said with joy.” And can you do me a favorite?”

With a curious look on his face” um yeah sure. What is it princess?”

“Can you deliver this book to twilight for me?”

“Yeah, no problem Princess.” Night Star said with a smile.

“Thank you” the princess said while levitating Night Star three books. Two of the books were wrapped with a light white shade of rainbow color while the third book was a midnight blue. “And the dark one is for you from my sister Princess Luna.”
With a confused look on Night Star face “why is she giving me a book for?”

“She didn’t tell me why but she did tell me that there is a letter in the book for you that will explain.” The princess said. “Well it seems that someone came here to visit you as well.” the princess turns to the royal guard. “Good morning Crackle.”

“Good morning princess” crackle said taking a bow. “I came here to escort Night Star to the train”

“ well then” the princess now looking at Night Star” the ride to Ponyville is about a hour and Twilight knows what time you will arriving and she should be waiting for you at the station.”

“Thank you once again princess, but how will I know when I see her? I haven’t really seen a picture of her before.” He said with a concern tone in his voice.

With a chuckle “you will know when you see her, It will be like looking in a mirror in a way but you will know when you see her.” the princess said with a smile.

“Umm okay, well then I will take off and thanks again.” Night Star said while taking a bow. “Let go Crackle.” with the books on his back, both of the stallions started head to the train station.

It has been 30 minute silent walk to the train station for Crackle and Night Star. They arrive with only 15 minutes left till Night Star will start his new life in Ponyville. Night Star broke the silence between them “Crackle, I’m going to miss you.”

“I’m going to miss you as well Night Star.” Crackle said with a smile.” And here”

“What is this?”

“It is a gift from my wife.” Crackle said while hoofing the gifts to Night Star.

Opening the present, Night Star knew the gift from the mare was a saddle bag with his cutie mark on it. With a smile on his face “Crackle this is amazing. Tell your wife thanks you for the gift”

“I will and this is from me.” He gave Night Star a bag with bits.

“Crackle I can’t accept this. You work hard for you bits.”

“It is alright Night Star. They are just extra bits I have gotten working extra hours and you will need them more then I will till you can get a job at your new home.” Crackle said with a smile.

“Thanks Crackle.” Night Star said with a heart warm smile.

” Well here comes your train. Hope you are excited for your new home and life and hope you come back to visit.”

“I will come back to visit Crackle and you will know where to find me.” With that Night Star gave Crackle a hug and then started to board the train. “I guess it is off to Ponyville for me, Bye Crackle”

“Bye Night Star” Crackle said before the doors closed and he started to walk away.

“I guess I’ll take a nap then” Night Star said while getting into his bunker. The train started to take off. Night Star dozed off when a few minutes after the train took off.

“Ahhhh” Night Star woke up with a mighty yawn.” How long have I been out for?” Night Star said wondering. While getting up Night Star started to look out of the window and saw nothing but trees and meadows. Such a beautiful sight, Night Star thought to himself. At that moment the door to his bunker open and a pretty earth mare popped her head in.

“Good even sir, is there anything you might need from the cart?” the mare asked.

“Hmmm, just a water please and do you know how much longer it will be till we arrive to Ponyvile?”

While getting his water the mare said” about 15 minutes and that will be 2 bits.” She said with a smile.

“Thanks you” Night Star said while getting his water and levitating3 bits. “Keep the change”

The earth mare smiled “thank you sir and hope you enjoy your stay in Ponyville.”

It is 11:00 in the morning in Ponyville where there a purple mare was cleaning her home and getting ready to go pick up her cousin. “Spike!” Twilight yelled out. “Have you finished getting the guest room ready?”

“Yes Twilight.” the baby dragon said. “Why are you freaking out so much for?”

“Why? Because, he is a family member that I have never meant before and I don’t want to get off the wrong hoof with him!”

“Well do you know anything about him besides the information from the letter?” Spike said in a relaxed tone of voice.

“No, I don’t” Twilight said freaking out. “The princess just told me what he looks like, his name, and what time he will be arriving at the train station.” Twilight started to clean her home once again. 30 minutes of cleaning, organizing books, making sure everything is in place, and making sure her home is proper for her guest.

“Umm Twilight what time will the train arrive?” Spikes asked.

“At 12 in the afternoon. Why spike?”

“Well it is already 11:30. Shouldn’t you be at the train station already?” the young dragon pointed out.

“Horse feathers!” Twilight said.” Spike finish cleaning up!” with that Twilight started to head out of the door towards the station.

Sigh” hope she doesn’t freak him out.” Spike said with a worry voice.” It would be nice to have another guy in the house.”

“Good I got here on time” twilight said while taking a seat on the plat form. Twilight has arrived at the train station with 10 minutes left till her cousin arrives. During this time Twilight decided to rest and to clear her mind. She was looking down with her eyes closed to help her to relax. She heard a loud horn in the distance and shot her head up to look. She stared to clean herself off and waited. The train started to halt in front of the plat form and within second the doors started to open and the only thing twilight was able to think was, I hope this won’t be awkward.

After of 10 minutes of waiting Twilight ask herself ,Hmm I wonder where he is?, She started to look around trying to find her cousin just in case he comes from another door. “I should have brought a sign” Twilight sighed. She decided to take a seat again and started to walk towards the bench. What if he decided not to come at all?, Twilight thought to herself with her head angled down. Lost in thought and not looking where see was going and bump into some pony and fell. “I’m sorry about that.” Twilight said while getting up.” I wasn’t looking where I was….”she stopped and noticed who she bumped into.

“Finally, I’m here” Night Star Said while getting his stuff ready to get off the train. It has been a few minutes when he finished getting the books that the princesses gave him into his new saddle bag without damaging the wrapping. He headed to the nearest exit and noticed that there were too many ponies waiting to get out. Hmm I’ll just go the other exit, Night Star thought. It didn't take him long to get the other exit. When he got off he noticed a young purple mare looking down. I’m guessing that her, he thought and decide to walk toward her.

When he was standing a few feet in front of her and noticed she wasn’t paying attention and then she bumped into him “I’m sorry about that.” Twilight said while getting up.” I wasn’t looking where I was….”she stopped and noticed who she bumped into.

“Wow, the princess was right” Night Star said out loud. Twilight gave a weird look.”Sorry about that. I’m Night Star.” With an awkward smile on his face and a hoof extended out to help her up.

“Hi, I’m Twilight Sparkle” she said with an awkward smile as well.

They stood there for a few seconds in the awkward moment when Twilight spoke up to break the silence. “Umm ready to go?”

“Umm, yeah sure.” With that said both started to head to head to town with the awkwardness still lingering.

Ch.4: The First Day

It has been15 minutes since Night Star has arrived in Ponyville. Both unicorns are now walking through town in awkward silence toward Twilight’s house. Twilight is stuck in her thoughts thinking of a way to break the silence that has been there since the train station. Come on Twilight think of something to say. This can’t be difficult to meet some pony new. For Celestia sake I’m studying friendship. Shaking her head and giving an irritated facial expression. Night Star took noticed on Twilight’s behavior.

“Twilight Sparkle,” Night Star began to say and snapping Twilight back to reality. “I know that this awkward for both of us but thank you for taking me in.”

“No problem Night Star and its okay to call Twilight.”

“Okay Twilight. It’s fine with me if you want to call me Night and I’m just wondering how much longer will it take to get to your house from here?”

“My house is right up head and yes I do live in a tree” She said with a smile. Night was now starring at the giant tree in front of them. When they start to get closer to the front door he noticed the sign that says library but didn’t think much of it. “We are here, ready to go inside?” he gave her a nod that he is ready to go inside. Before opening the door they was a loud crash coming from inside and heard a few mumbles. Twilight open the door quickly and saw the baby dragon under a pill of books.” What happen here Spike!?”

“I was trying to put a couple of books on the shelf but I lost my balance and I fell with the books I was trying to put away and some from the shelf fell as well.” Spike said while getting out of the clutter of books atop of him. Twilight gave a sign of relief that her assistant wasn't injured and started to levitate the books back on the self.

Spike noticed the stallion at the door and walk up to him.” Hi, I’m Spike. I’m assuming your Night Star?” he said while extending his claw.

“Yes I am.” Night said while shaking the baby dragon’s claw.

“Yes, finally another guy in library. You have no clue I much there needs to be another guy here” Spike said with joy in his voice

“I am glad it won’t just be me and Twilight here.” both males started to walk towards Twilight who just finished putting the books away. “I thought dragon weren’t allowed in pony civilization?”

“Well, Spike is my assistant here in Ponyville. He helps with my studies and the library and Spike, can you leave the house for a while? I need to talk to Night Star.”

With a grin on his face that he can leave” thanks Twilight” and with that In a blink of an eye Spike was gone.
” Night can I ask you a few things?”

“Yeah, what do you want know?”

“First, how long are you going to wrapped up like a mummy and how did you get like that?”

“Oh, I will be out of this wrapping in a few days when I got to the hospital here and It started when I got home in Lower Canterlot …”

“And that’s how I found out that we were related.” Night said finishing up his story. It has been a few minutes since Night has started his story. Twilight was shock and couldn’t believe on what happen to him. She was lost in the story and the only thing she could think of was to hug him but she felt that would have crossed the line since they just meant. “Is there anything else you want to know?” he asked while breaking Twilight out of here thoughts.

“Yeah, just one more thing for now, why didn’t you want the rest of our family to know about you?”

“Hmmm, well for right now I don’t really want to get into my past to much till I fill comfortable being here and I want to tell you about my pass with the rest of the family here. I know that there will be a lot questions and I know that I will also have a lot of question of my own that you won’t be able to answer since most of them will about my parents..”

Twilight gave a nod. “That seems understandable. Well let me know when you are ready so I can inform them.”

“I will. Oh yeah I got a delivery for you from Princess Celestria.” Night said while levitating the two books from his saddlebag to Twilight. She gave a surprise look that her mentor has sent here books without letting her know first. She got the books with her magic and put them the closest desk. “So where will I be staying?”

“Oh right. Well let me show you around.” It has been about 20 minutes on giving Night Star a tour of his new home.

“And this will be your room. I know it not much but I hope it will do.” She gave a smile.

“Thank you Twilight and this is just fine.” Night said while putting his saddlebag down on his bed. He started to look around the room and noticed the desk in the corner, a book shelf, a night stand, and of course the bed. It wasn’t much but it was way more than he had when living in Lower Canterlot.

Knock, Knock, Knock.

“I wonder who that can be.” Twilight turn and started to head up stairs to see who it was at the front door leaving Night in his room. She opens the front door and sees a pink earth pony jumping in joy as if she is ready to party and a white fashinista unicorn with a beautiful purple mane and tale that only a diva will have in front of here. “Hey Pinkie Pie and Rarity, how can I help you?”

“Have you heard darling?” Rarity said with a giant grin on her face.

“Heard what?” Twilight responded with confusion.

“There a new stallion in town! And…”

“And I need to find out who it is so I can throw him a welcome party!” Pinkie Pie said with joy that while cutting off Rarity.

“Yes a party” the diva said with an annoyed look. “Anyways, I heard he was good looking and strong looking as well, even if he is wrapped up in bandaids.”

“Wait there already gossip about him?” Twilight gave a surprise gasp.

“YOU KNOW WHO HE IS!?” Both the diva and the party pony said in unison.

“Well…” Twilight started until she got cut off.

“That would be me.” Night Star said from the top of the stairs and startled all three mares.

“Oh Right, Pinkie, Rarity this is Night Star my cousin and Night Star This is Pinkie Pie and Rarity two of my closest friends.”

“Wait your have a cousin?” Rarity asked.” Why haven’t we heard of this before Twilight?”

“Well…” Twilight started to say but was cut off.

“That doesn’t matter right now.” Pinkie Pie said while waving a hoof in front of her face and shaking her head. She faced Night Star.” Night Star, I hope you enjoy parties because I will be throwing you one this Saturday to welcome you to Ponyville.”

“ummmm thanks?”

“Well I need to go to get the party invites ready, the streamers, the cake, and all of that good stuff ready for the party. Let’s go Rarity.”

“hmm yes darling I think we should. I still need to finish up some dresses.”

“nice seeing your girls again and bye.”

Night Star gave Twilight a confused look and about to ask something but was cut off by Twilight.” Don’t worry about them. There always like that well just Pinkie.”

“Um Alright But I came up her to let you that I’m going to go to bed for a few days because this medication that I got is going to knock me out cold and this was a intresting first day.”

Twilight gave a chuckle.”yes it was and do you want me to wake you up for breakfast, lunch, and diner?”

“No, that won’t be necessary but thanks anyways. If you can, just leave some leftovers for me.” Night said while giving a small smile. “But thanks anyways.”

“No problem. Hope you get plenty of rest for the party.” She said with a smile.

Ch.5 - The Party

The Party

It has been a few days since Night Star has arrived to Ponyville. He didn’t expect it to go so smoothly and it was less awkward then he thought it would. With his stomach growling forcing him to wakes up. He gave a massive yawn and rubbing his eyes, the stallion decides to go up upstairs to get a bite to eat. When reaching the top of the stairs from his room he noticed that no pony was in the library but was able to make out the smell of grilled apples and some chatter coming from the kitchen. With his stomach leading the way to the kitchen, he opens the door and noticed a young purple mare sitting at the counter reading a book and a purple dragon making lunch.

Hearing the door opening the baby turns around and sees Night Star standing there. “Hey Night Star,” Spike said “Hungry?”

“You have no clue Spike.” Night responded while walking toward the counter.

Twilight stop reading her book and turn to her cousin. “Good afternoon Night. Slept well?”

“Yeah I did, by the way how long have I been out for?”

“Hmmm well you arrived here on Monday and today Saturday, So about 5 days.”

“Really?” with a nod Twilight responded.” Wow, that the longest I ever slept.’’

“Yup, I couldn’t believe that you slept so long and when do you have the doctor appointment?”

“I have it at 3 today and when is the party?”

“The party is at 7 at Sugercube corner in center of town.” The baby dragon started to serve their lunch” thanks spike. If you want you can go over to rarity’s to see if she needs help.” With a giant grin the dragons face from what he heard he was gone. “Are you going to come back home from the hospital or are you going to walk around for a while?”

“Well I’m just going to get the wrapping off and a check up to see if I still need rest but after that I’m planning on coming back to relax for a while before the party. Why do you ask?”

“I’m just wondering because I’m going to go out for a while.”

“Oh, Alright” Finishing his lunch.” Well I got to go. See you in a while.” Getting a nod from Twilight, Night was off to the hospital.

It wasn’t a long trip for Night Star to arrive at the hospital from Twilight’s home. When walking in he noticed a white earth pony mare with pink mane and tail with a nurse’s hat. “Good afternoon, I’m nurse Redheart, how can I assist you with today?”

“I’m here for a checkup.”

“What is your name?” the nurse asked while looking through her files for today’s appointments.
“Night Star.”

“Hmm, found you Mr. Star. Please take a seat while I inform the doctor that you here.” Night Star to a seat and waited for the doctor to arrive. It was a few second when he heard his name being called from the hallway. Standing there he saw a blue unicorn stallion with a white mane and tale.

“Good afternoon Mr. Star, I am Dr. Serg, can you follow me and we start with your check up.” Heading down the hallway for a few second they went into room and Serg motion Night to sit down to start. The doctor started to unwrap Night Star’s head first,then his sides and hips. It didn't take more a few minutes for the doctor to be finish. “well it seems that your wounds have healed quite well but the cut on your cutie mark has left a scar Mr. Star.”

Looking toward his cutie mark he noticed the scar that the doctor was talking about. It cut straight though the moon and one of the stars. “That doesn’t matter doc.” The doctor gave a questionable look of why is that.” Mares dig scars.” With that both stallions started to laugh. The visit was over Night noticed that is it was a quarter pass three and decided to walk back home.

When arriving back to the Library he noticed Twilight was just arriving as well. “Hey Twilight.” Night Said a few feet away and startled her.

Jump to the air Twilight turn to see who called her name.” Night you scared the cutie mark off Me.” the first thing she noticed was his two different eye color. She didn’t really pay much attention to them since one eye was half covered with wrappings. opening the door she was noticed another thing she hasn’t seen before. Going inside she noticed Night’s cutie mark while walking into the house.

“Sorry about that.” He said while holding the door open for Twilight.

“Its fine and Night may I ask you something?”

“Yeah go for it.”

“Well I haven’t seen any pony with a cutie mark of a crescent moon before beside Princess Luna. It’s rare to see those cutie marks and I just wanted to know how you got?”

“Well,” he thought if he should tell her the whole truth but decided not to.” It was a night when I was in Upper Canterlot after I was able to sneak out of the castle library….”

“YOU SNUCK OUT OF THE CASTLE LIBRARY!?” Twilight yelled with shock.

“Well yeah. The public library in Lower Canterlot didn’t have good magic books and I wasn’t allowed to enter the one in Upper Canterlot.”

“So you decide to sneak into the castle?! Do you know….”

“Do you want me to finish my story or not.” Night said Interrupting Twilight.

“Fine, continue.”

“Okay, well while walk home I noticed two stallions trying to mug a mare. I didn’t want to let that be so I decide to use the new spells I learn. The spell was called shadow transportation which let me move in a high speed while being a shadow figure and I was able to carry me and the mare away. Then at a park I noticed that I got my cutie mark.”

“Wow. That was so brave of you Night.”

“Yup.” He said while nodding. Thank Celestria I didn’t tell her the real whole story. He thought to himself.

“So that means your talent is magic like me then.” She said with a smile.

“I Guess so.”

Look up to checking the clock on the wall. “Oh let get going to the party.” Twilight said while towards the door. Night look at the clock as well thought the same. Both unicorns then headed to Sugercube Corner.

Arriving a few minutes after the party started Twilight and Night entered the building they noticed all the treats that Pinkie has put out and the how many ponies that were there. Twilight saw her friends going up to them and nudge Night so they can meet each other halfway.

“I’m glad you made it Twilight and Night Star.” Pinkie Pie said.

“We wouldn’t miss a party of yours for the world.” Twilight said while hugging both mares.” You two remember Night Star.”

“Good evening darling. I see that you are better.” Rarity said. “By the way you have marvelous eyes.”

“Thanks for the complement Rarity.”

“Yeah you’re not a mummy anymore.” Pinkie said while giggling.

“Even if I was still wrapped up I wouldn’t miss this party at all.”

“Hey Rarity where are rest of the girls?”

With a jingle from the door “ah they just arrived.” Both unicorns turning around they saw the blue Pegasus with rainbow mane and tail and a yellow Pegasus with pink mane and tail floating in the air above an orange mare with a cowmare hat and a red stallion that is twice the size of the mare both with golden mane and tail. With each group looking at each other the two mares and stallions headed towards Twilights group.

“Howde Twilight, Pinkie Pie, Rarity.” The Earth Mare said.

“Sup girls.” The Blue Pegasus said. “Who’s the stallion?”

“Oh right,” Twilight said turning toward new member of the group. “This is my cousin Night Star and Night Star this is Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Big Macintosh.”

“Hey.”

“howde you can call me AJ and you can call him Big Mac if you like.” Applejack said while Big Mac gave a nod.

“Yo, you might have heard of me, the amazing and the coolest Pegasus in all of Equestra or you might know me for my move, the sonic rainboom.” Rainbow Dash said with a grin.

“Never heard of you.”

“What!? How can you not hear of me?”

“I don’t really care or follow news of ponies who show off and blow their horn when they can.”

“Why you!”

“Calm down RD.” Applejack said glaring at Rainbow Dash.

“Fine.”

“H-h-hello.” A shy and timid voice came from Fluttershy hiding behind her mane but wasn’t loud enough to be heard.

With both Rainbow Dash and Night Star Staring at each other.“Ummm let go dance for a while.” Twilight suggested to break the tension. With the girls nodding there head they started to follow Twilight. “Aren’t you two going to come?” Turning to ask the stallions. With both stallions shaking there head. “You sure?” with another nod from the stallions. “Well you know where we will be. Let’s go girls.”

Turning the red stallion,“So Big Mac, do you any place around here that is looking for an extra pair of hoofs?” Night Star asked.

“Hmmm well, me and AJ will be needing some help in a month or so for the apple harvest.” Big Mac asnwered,” I let you know when the time comes.”

“Thanks. What exactly will I be doing?”

“Well mostly just bucking trees and moving the harvest of apples to the barn.”

“Alright. Doesn’t sound that bad then.”

“Eenope.”

After a while of standing there watching his cousin and her friends dance he went to the snack table to get something to munch on and drink. “Well if it isn’t Night Star.” A mare voice came from behind him. Turning to see who said he name. Saw two mares. One was a cream color earth pony with blue and pink mane and the other was a Mint green unicorn with matching mane and tale with white streaks.”What are you doing here?”

“Oh shit. What you two doing here?” Night Star said giving a smile to the two mares.

“We live here don’t we Bonnie?”

“Yup but what are you doing here Night Star?”

“ Well this is a welcome to Ponyville party for me.”

“NO WAY!? Your living here now?” Bon Bon said with a mix of shock and happyness.

“ Why?” Lyra said with some confusion. “Awe!” she said being jabed in the ribs by Bon bon.”What was that for?” Lyra ask

“Because that was rude of you Lyra.” Bon Bon said.

“Haha well I see who is in charge in this relationship.”Night Said while taking a step back and taking a seat.” Well It started last weekend when…. “Night Star told both Lyra and Bon Bon on what happen and why he is in Ponyville. Night Star told them everything that happened to him this past week and both mares were shocked on what happen. It was about two hours of telling the story and answer there question.

“Hey Lyra I think it’s time to go.” Bon Bon told her marefriend.” But Night you should come by my shop or our house so we can talk more and if you ever need some extra bits, I am looking for some help.”

“Yeah no problem. It would be nice to catch up and thanks. I’ll keep that in mind” With that they gave their goodbyes and there hugs. Hmm I guess I’ll go outside for a while till Twilight wants to leave. Night head outside to relax for a while. He took a seat a few feet away from the door and started to look into the night sky. He was outside for about an hour when we heard the door open. He turns and saw Fluttershy stepping out to get some fresh air as well. Fluttershy did not take notice of Night Star when she took her seat on the opposite side of the door and Night. Out off all her friends she is the cuties one. Night Star thought. I guess she didn’t see me. He turns back to the night sky once.

“chew”

“Bless you”

“Thank you.” And she realized she wasn’t alone. Her eyes went wide of fear and turn to see who it was. she kind of calm down to know that it was a pony that she knew in way but was still scared because he was still a stranger to her beside the fact he is Twilights cousin.

“No problem. Your Fluttershy right?” Night Asked while looking up at the moon.

“y-y-yes.” The timid voice of fluttershy was barely able to hear.

“If you feel uncomfortable, I can leave.”

“No that fine. You can stay if you want. I can leave” She said while hiding behind her mane.

“ Na, its fine if you stay.” Stilling look up at the night sky he felt the awkwardness he felt when he arrived at Ponyville. He spoke up to break the awkwardness.” It’s beautiful isn’t?”

“Umm what is?” Fluttershy said with a soft voice.

“Luna’s night sky.” Looking toward his left he meant eye contact with the mare. All the mare could do besides look into his eyes was nod for a response.” Well I think I will go.” Night Star got up and headed to the street before stopping in front of Flyttershy.” Can you tell Twilight that I’m going to head home for me.”

“Ummm yeah sure.”

“Thanks Fluttershy.”

“n-no problem ummm?”

“Night Star.”

“Oh yes Night Star.” With that Night Star started to head home and Fluttershy went inside to tell Twilight that Night Star left. but when she the group all on the in the middle. “ Hey Twilight I wanted to let you know that Night Star Has gone home already.”

“Oh Alright Thanks Fluttershy. Well I guess I head home to. Bye girls.” She gave the group of girls a hug and headed home.

When she arrived home she heard the snores of the baby dragon upstairs and when downstairs to check if Night Star was in his room. With three knocks a voice comes from the other side.” Come in.” Twilight entered his room and noticed that he hasn’t done much to it but she knew why since he was asleep for the past week.” Hey Twilight.”

“hey Night I just came by to see if you arrived.” she stepped inside” Enjoyed the party?”

“Yeah I did. It was fun.”

“It was. I saw you chat to a few ponies and I also noticed that you that you talked to Lyra and Bon Bon. Do you know them?”

“yeah, I do. I met them when I still lived in Lower Canterlot a while back ago.”

“oh alright and I also noticed that you were looking at me the girls dancing. Did one of my friends catch your eye?”
Twilight asked giving a wink. With no response from Night Star.“Ha ha I’m just teasing you. But I’m going to go to bed. Goodnight.”

“Night Twilight.” With Twilight heading up stairs to her own bed, Night laid there wondering on what to do . Turing his head to the desk he saw the time, it’s only 11pm. It’s still so early. Then he notice the book that Princess Luna gave him. I Guess I read that book. Levitating the book towards him he ripped of the wrapping and a letter fell out. It had the royal sealing of Princess Luna. Night Star open the letter to see what this was all about.

Dear Night Star,

I hope this book of spells will help you. These are night magic spells like the ones I use. They are nothing like black or dark magic. To practice this spells you will need an open area. The library isn’t suited to learn. Go to my old palace in the Everfree forest. That will be the safest place to practice. I will be visiting you to answer any question you have for me and to see how your progress will be.

It is cool afternoon in lower Canterlot for 10 year old Night Star. He is sitting at the public library reading a book of magic for his 3rd time. “Why doesn’t this library have more books of magic?” Night said while sighing. Taking the book he was reading back to the shelf to find another book read. Looking through each book, he couldn’t find a book that he has read twice already. Well I can always try to sneak into the libraries in Upper Canterlot again. Night Star thought while taking a seat next to a window.hmm na, not worth getting yelled at and being talk down to. Looking through the window he saw the royal castle of the sisters. I wonder if it is possible to go to their library? Night Star thought to himself. Turning away from the window he looked at the wall across from him to see the time. It was a quarter till five and knowing that the library closes at five he took his leave. Where should I go now? Night Star thought while leaving the library. Well I guess I could go… losing his thoughts from a couple talking next time.

“Hey Seth did you hear about the filly who is the princess’s student?” the mare said.

“Hmmm, the one named Twilight, Daisy?” Seth said.

“Yeah her, but did you know that she comes from the noble family of Sparkle and the heir of the house and that her father was part of the royal guards and her brother just joined?”

“No way, wow she has her life set then and imaging all the spells she will learn from the princess and all the books of magic in the royal library.”

“She is so lucky.”

Night Star stopping and looking up at the castle. what a lucky filly. Night Star thought to himself. she will be learning some powerful magic. I wish I could learn some that magic. Sighing he started t walk again.

Hmm well I could learn some powerful magic. I guess I could give it a try and sneak into the royal library, it’s not like I have anything to lose

. Turning around he started to head toward the castle while the night start to set in. the only thing that could happen is that I either learn so new magic or get caught.

It was about seven at night when Night Star arrived at the castle. How am I supposed to get in there? He thought while looking around for a way in. seeing that there was a gate open a few yards ahead of him with ponies coming out with trash. I guess I just go that way. Looking around once more to make sure that no pony was around, especial a guard, he went toward. Making it in before the pony who was taking out the trash would close the gate. Night went towards a bush to think of his next move. Where is the library?. Deciding on looking around he stepped out of the bush. Hearing hooves steps behind him all he could think of was. Buck I’m caught. Turning around he saw a guard walking towards him.

“Miss Twilight why are you outside at this time at night?” The guard said.

Miss Twilight? Night Star thought without responding to the guard. Does he think I’m her?

“Sorry Miss Twilight if I have frightened you. I am Crackle.” the guard said while taking a bow. “It is nice to finally meet you.”

Oh thanks you Luna! You have saved me. Night Star thought while taking a bow himself. Okay now sound like a girl. He won’t know that I am not her. “Um that is fine sir.” Night Star said in his best girl voice. “I got lost looking for the royal library. Do you know which way it is?” damn that sounds horrible. Hopefully he buy it.

“Are you sick Miss Twilight?” Crackle asked with a concern look.

“No I am not. Why do you ask?” Night Star said with sweat starting to go down his face. Shit I’m busted.

“Oh no reason. You just sound a bit under the weather. Well the library will be down that way. It will be at your right side miss Twilight but I’m sorry that I can’t escort you to the library. I must report in to my captain.”

“That is fine but thank you and have a good night sir.” With that Night Start started to head toward the library. “Oh and can you not tell him that we have met. I don’t want to get into trouble on being out this late.”

“I won’t tell him but be careful and a have a good night as well Miss Twilight.” Crackle said while continuing his way toward the castle to report to his captain.

Night Star was now hiding behind a tree next to royal library. Looking for a way in, he saw two guards in front of the entrance. There is no way I can get lucky with being Twilight again. Now looking another way in, he noticed that the window of the 2nd floor was open. Seeing that there was branch that was close to the window where he was hiding. He started to climb the tree without giving his location away. Making all the way the branch were the window was open he looked at how far he will have to jump. Okay, it’s about a 3 foot jump and about 20 foot fall. Only got once shot at this. It’s now or never. Taking a deep breathes to calm his nerves and closing he eyes. Night Star took the leap of faith toward the window and landing head first to the floor of the 2nd floor. Blinking that he has made it through the window he sat down and started to rub his head. “Buck that hurt.” Night Star said under his breath. Opening his eyes he saw that the there was a door in front of him. Looking around to make sure that there any pony around him, he got up and went towards the door. Using his magic he turns the handle and with the luck he has been having, the door wasn’t closed. Oh thank you Luna!

Opening the door he used his magic to muffle the sound of the door. Closing the door behind him, he was amazed on how many books there were. Hope I am the right place. Night Star thought while taking a few steps inside. With only the light of moon to light up the room, he used his magic to make it a bit brighter while walking though the aisle looking for the right section he wanted. “Plants, astrology, animals, MAGIC! Here the place.” Night Star said with a smirk. “Whoa, that’s lot of books. Which one should I read? Hmmm.” Walking through the book he read each title to see if it catches his eyes. Hmmm this one sounds interesting. He levitated an old book out of the self and onto a desk nearby. It was a book that looks like it is written hundreds of years ago, with the cover being black with the outline of a moon on the cover and the name and the authors name in gold. “Magic of the Night by Eclipse.” Night Star said before open the book to the front page. “This book is dedicated to my mother who is no longer with us and my family who has not seen life yet. Let this book help you with the spells that the Princess of the night, Luna, knows.”

Open the book to a random page in the middle he saw two spells that caught his eyes. The first one was the spell called shadow transportation. This spell wasn’t too difficult to understand. It involved a lot of magic to make you self turn into a shadow and be able to move fast speed. “Well might as well try it out.” Night Star said while prepping himself. Taking a stance and concentrating all of his magic around his body only took a few try. Now with his body glowing with the dark purple of his magic and now came the hard part came the hard part. Being able to use him magic to make him to a shadow and move. Gone this far, there is no point of quitting now. Night Star thought while he was concentrating his magic. Without knowing his entire body now in shadow form, damn it didn’t work. Night Star thought while opened his eyes. Whoa, everything looks the same but looks like it’s covered in shadows. Wait did it work!? Looking down he saw his body now cover in shadows. It worked! Now let give it a try and move. Taking a few step forwards, he felt himself light as a feather but fast as a Pegasus flying. That felt weird. I wonder what I look like. Looking around he saw a mirror on the other side of the aisle. He started to walk toward it and he was there in two second. Whoa that was fast. He thought on how far he has gone in such a small amount of time. Looking into the mirror he couldn’t believe on what he looked like. I don’t have a body!? He thought looking into the mirror. All he saw was a shadow on the ground. His body was gone. I guess I turn into my shadow but I feel as if I’m standing. Turning around he went back to the book to read on the second spell.

Arriving to the desk in the same speed as before, he stops the spell and he was back to his normal self. “That was amazing! Now let’s check out the second spell.” Reading the next spell that he felt it would be used as an offense spell was called Nightmare. Reading the description he knows that this spell was difficult but didn’t really require the same amount magic like the last spell. This spelled required more of emotion base requirement. This spell strength comes from the wielder emotion that is used during the spell. The spell will get into the creature head that you are using it on and find its fears. Depending on the strength that the wielder wants this spell to be at is how strong the spell is effect it victim and how much it will dig into the mind of the victim to find it fears. “Well I guess I can try it but…” Night Star Stop mid sentences when he heard the door opening. He flipped the book shut and jumps under the desk and prayed to Luna that he won’t be caught.
“This way Twilight,” a mother voice from the door and the room light up with lights.

“Yes princess Celestia.” A young purple mare came right behind the princess.

“Now, the fairy tale section on five aisles to the left okay.”

“Thank you for letting get a book this late at night princess.” Twilight said bowing.

“It’s fine.” Celestia said with a smile. “Now go on and find a good book.” with that Twilight went the aisle that the princess told her where she can find a book. The princess looks around and saw that there was book on the desk and also saw a Night Star trying to hide.

Is she looking at me? Night Star thought while hiding. She is. Night Star was now staring into the eyes of the princess. I’m caught.

Still making eye contact with Night Star, the princess gave him a smile “Don’t worry; there aren’t any guards outside right now. Go down the hall to the stairs, the door will be on the left side and then you can make you way out from the gate that you came in from.” the princesses said.

“You said something princess?” Twilight asked from the aisle.

“No, do you need any help?” she said while turning and walking toward Twilight.

Is she going to let me go just like that? Night Star Thought to himself. With that Night took his chance and left the library building and made his exit of the castle. Looking around to make sure that there wasn’t anyone following him; he took off in a gallop through the city of Upper Canterlot.

After galloping for a while he stopped near an ally to catch his breath. “I can’t believe she just let me leave like that.” Night Star said while taking slow deep breaths. Taking a set near the wall to relax a bit more and to think of the spells he just learned. While taking the break he saw two stallions once earth and unicorn forcing a earth mare into the same ally he was resting in. he didn’t take much notice to what they were doing but did noticed that the two stallions were from lower Canterlot and the mare was from upper Canterlot which mean nothing good will happen to hear.

“Please don’t hurt me! I will give you whatever bits I have. Just please leave me be.” The mare pleaded with fear in her voice.

“Oh don’t worry we will take your bits and whatever else that is worth something but first we want to have some fun.” The earth stallion said with a sickening grin.

“What? No please not that.” The mare said before she tried to make a break for it into the streets.
Grabbing here with his magic.” Where do you think you’re going miss?” the unicorn said with a evil grin and tossing her into the wall.

She hit the wall and fell 3 feet to the ground. “Please…. Don’t…. I… Beg… You…” the mare said with pain from the toss and tears coming down from her eyes. With evil smirks on both stallions getting closer to the mare to do the worst thing some pony can do to another pony.

Night Star got up and started too walked toward the three ponies. “Hey why don’t you leave her alone.” Night Said.
All three ponies look to where Night Star was standing. With hope in the mare eyes that someone will help her and fear in the stallions that someone had caught them. When seeing who it was the stallions brook into laughter. “haha what is a foal like yourself going to do if we don’t.” the earth pony said walking towards Night Star. “I think you should go home and not get involved with other ponies business.”

“If you don’t leave, I will make you leave.” Night Star said while charging his horn with a blast.

“haha look that this Creek, this little unicorn thinks he tough.” The earth pony said while looking toward his partner.

“Haha show who not to mess with other ponies’ business trib.” creek said.

Turning back around the earth pony was hit with a magic blast to the side from Night Star and sent to the wall. “Why you little bastard.” The earth pony said while getting back up and charging Night Star. Night Star was barely able to dodge the charge but not the magic blast from the unicorn that sent him straight into the wall. Now on the ground the earth pony started to kick Night Star on his side. “haha not so tough now are we.” The stallion said with another kick and started to walk toward his previous business.

Night Star getting back up from the beaten and thinking on what to do to help the mare. There is only on spell I can use right now to stop them. With that he started to charge his horn for the spell, know that the spell will be strong from the pain he is feeling. With the stallions a few feet away from their pray Night Star decide to use Shadow Transportation which will be since both spells required different amount of magic. In a flash he, appears in front of the stallions. “Run!” Night Star said to the mare. The mare looking at Night Star was in shock. “I Said RUN!” and with that the mare nod and started to gallop away.

“Why you little bastard,” The earth pony said with anger. “Now I will make sure that you won’t get up.” Both stallions started to get closer to Night Star with the unicorn charging his horn.

With blood dripping down his lip Night Star gave them a smirk. “No, you two will be the ones who won’t be getting back up.” He said with releasing the spell with whatever power he had. What he saw was something that he couldn’t believe was a spell. It was creature that was nothing but blackness, with sharp claws. His eyes were blood red and his mouth has razor sharp teeth with blood red in his mouth. This spell or creature was really a nightmare.

“What is that?!” the unicorn said with fear in is voice and eyes while letting go of his magic.

“Run you fool.” The earth pony said galloping into the ally.

The Nightmare flew directly at the two stallions and the only thing that Night Star was able to hear was screams. Not any normal kind of screams but screams of fear. Not able to see what happen to them was a good thing in his mind. Seeing all the lights in the ally way turning on, he started to gallop away from the allyway. Stopping a few blocks away in a park to rest. Feeling drain of his magic and energy he sat in the grass the pond. Looking into the pond he was able to see how beat up he was and the blood going down his leap. Getting some water to clean of his face, he felt the pain on his side. Turning around to see if he was bleeding any where the pain is coming from, he saw something that he couldn’t believe. He saw his cutie mark of a crescent moon and three stars. One in the empty space of the moon and the other two the other side. With a smirk on his face, he looked up and saw that the moon was a crescent moon that night, “Thank you Luna.”

“now sleep you need your rest.” Night star heard and saw a figure of a mare walking towards him. Barely being able to keep his head up and losing consciousness he wasn’t able to see the mare when she laid next to him to keep him warm. At that moment he felt safe as if he was with somepony he know and lost consciousness.
