The map showed the Twilight Sparkle Cutie Mark in a place where it had lots of trees but she didn’t know if it was Everfree Forest or if it was another forest. She knew all the places of Equestria. She was trying to decipher if it was the same forest she is her friends had to walk until they reached the castle of the Two Sisters. She decided to leave the room and go to the library of her castle to see in the books talked about this place. Spike was passing where Twilight was, but stopped when he saw the Alicorn searching the books, “Twilight, is everything okay?”
Twilight Sparkle stopped what he was doing and looked at Spike, “ah. Hi, Spike”, she said with a smile.
“What are you doing?” wanted to know Spike, now entering in the room.
“I’m looking in the books about an unfamiliar place I’ve never seen in Equestria”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
“What is this place you want to know?” asked Spike, now curious.
Twilight Sparkle started walking, “come on, Spike. I’ll explain”, she left the room and Spike followed her.
“The friendship map sent me to an unknown location I never saw in Equestria to solve a friendship problem”, began Twilight Sparkle.
“Will I be able to go along?” asked Spike, now excited.
“I’m so sorry, Spike. But the map sent me to solve this friendship problem alone and not with you”, replied Twilight Sparkle, now sad.
Spike was sad, but tried to accept, “ok, Twilight. I would like to give you good luck”
Twilight Sparkle smiled, “thanks, Spike. But I need help knowing where I should go”, she approached the map.
Spike climbed to the map to examine. This forest had many trees and he looked left and saw a small town. He found out what the forest was, “I know which forest it is!”
Twilight Sparkle brightened, “Really? Which is?”
“It’s the Everfree Forest”, repleid Spike. Twilight Sparkle made a small O in the mouth.
“Why did you think it was another forest, Twilight? There’s only one forest in Equestria”, Spike wanted to know.
“It’s just that I thought I had another forest in Equestria. I didn’t want to take my chances and go into the wrong forest,” answered Twilight Sparkle. “But that explains why that map forest was near Ponyville”
“Would you like some help getting your things done, Twilight?” asked Spike, wanting to help.
“Yes, Spike”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
After Twilight Sparkle had finished packing with Spike’s help, she left the castle and looked back, “Bye, Spike. See you later”, she waved to Spike before making her way to Everfree Forest. Spike waved back before closing the door.
Twilight Sparkle took a map out of her backpack and looked to see if she was going the right way. And she realized she was. Twilight tucked the map back in her backpack before starting to think about what this friendship problem might be. Did she have a town in Everfree Forest and she didn’t know? If so, this would be her chance to learn about the culture of those ponies. She wondered if they ate normal pony food or fed on animals. Twilight Sparkle laughed at that thought. Of course they didn’t feed on animals and insects. Or did they feed? Twilight Sparkle tried to calm down. She closed her eyes, inhaled and exhaled. She managed to calm down. Twilight Sparkle smiled to herself. This technique Cadence taught her was a good way for her to calm her nervousness.
Twilight Sparkle opened her eyes and saw that she was face to face with the forest. Twilight Sparkle sat on the floor and decided to check if she had everything she needed. Let’s see, she had the map, books on how to survive in a forest, food, water and her stuffed Celestia. Twilight Sparkle nodded before storing everything back in the bag. She decided to look at the sky and saw that it was still afternoon. Good. There was still plenty of time to get to night. She just hoped she wouldn’t find any Timber Wolf on the way. Twilight Sparkle closed her eyes, took a deep breath before opening her eyes, making a brave expression, before entering the forest. Upon entering the forest, she began to be aware of everything, because this forest was dangerous, especially at night. She just didn’t expect anything bad to happen to her.
After hours in the woods, it was already night and Twilight Sparkle didn’t understand how she didn’t yet reach the place where was the problem of friendship. She was already past Zecora’s cabin. She began to worry that the problem would be with the forest and not with ponies. But that couldn’t be true, could it?
Suddenly she heard a howl. Twilight’s ears were alert. She stood back, prepared her magic as she glanced sideways and stepped forward. She saw green eyes in the shadows. Twilight Sparkle soon discovered the creature.
Timber Wolf!
The Timber Wolf stepped out of the shadows and jumped into Twilight to attack. But Twilight was faster and shot Timber Wolf with her magic. Now the Timber Wolf was nothing more than twigs and sticks on the ground. Twilight Sparkle walked back. She saw bushes in front of her. She found it strange. Why did it have bushes? Twilight used her magic to push the bushes away for her to pass. And she was surprised to see a village. Weird. In the books she read, it said nothing about villages in a forest. She started walking toward the village. Twilight was surprised to see ponies inside their homes. Well, she wouldn’t judge. It was night, so it was normal for the ponies to stay home at this time. She heard footsteps and was surprised to see a beige brown mare, “You need to hide!!”
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “hide from what?”
“Come on! Follow me before they see you!” the mare exclaimed in fear before rushing back to the house. Twilight Sparkle followed her.
When they arrived at the house, the mare closed and locked the door. She sighed as she had both front hooves in the door, “I think we’re safe. For a while”
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “I don’t understand. Why are we hiding?”
The mare looked at Twilight Sparkle, “We’re hidden so we won’t be found”
Twilight Sparkle was still confused, “Who are we hiding from?”
“We are hiding from…” but the mare gave no time to answer because she heard a knock on the door.
The mare panicked and opened a door leading to the basement, “fast. On here”, she whispered.
Twilight Sparkle looked uncertain, “come in”, the mare whispered. Twilight heard a knock on the door and went downstairs. The mare saw that Twilight was coming down. She closed and locked the basement door.
Twilight Sparkle realized it was very dark, Twilight Sparkle made light with its magic. The mare was coming down the stairs with a flashlight in her mouth. Twilight continued to descend. She wondered how far the stairs were going. It seemed that the stairs were endless. Twilight Sparkle wondered what the mare had. Twilight Sparkle saw a door, opened it, walked in, and was surprised to see it. It had a bookcase, a desk with parchment and quill in an ink. Twilight Sparkle approached the bookshelf and was surprised to see it. It had the A.K’s books. All volumes were here. Twilight Sparkle wondered if this mare was also a A.K’s fan.
She heard a knock, and looked back to see the mare locking the door before going to the desk and putting on the flashlight. Twilight Sparkle approached the mare, “You’re a fan of A.K’s work. Yearling?” wanted to know Twilight Sparkle.
The mare looked at Twilight Sparkle, “yes. Why?”
“I’m a big fan of her work too!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle, now all excited. “Tell me. What was your favorite scene?”
The mare looked surprised. Suddenly they heard a knock coming from the front door of the house. And they were beating very hard. Twilight Sparkle knew this wasn’t the best time to introduce herself, but she decided to try, “My name is Twilight Sparkle. And yours?”
The mare looked at Twilight Sparkle, “My name is Butterflower”
Twilight Sparkle smiled, “Nice to meet you, Butterflower. Tell me, why are you hiding in this basement at night?”
The mare got scared, “I’m hiding from The Creatures”
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “but what creatures?”
“I dont know. Me and the others can’t leave the house because if they don’t catch us”, replied Butterflower.
“Would you like to see what they look like?” offered Twilight Sparkle.
“No! Don’t go! If you go, they will catch you!” exclaimed Butterflower. Suddenly, they heard the sound of a door breaking and heard the sound of footsteps. Butterflower and Twilight were silent so they wouldn’t be heard.
Twilight Sparkle looked at the mare, “Are you sure you don’t want me to go there? I can solve this problem for all of you”, she whispered.
Butterflower looked at Twilight Sparkle and whispered back, “You don’t understand, Twilight. No one can look at these foals. Because if anypony looks at these creatures, they… ”she rubbed the hoof around her neck. Twilight Sparkle was scared. She never imagined she would have such violent creatures. She wondered how she would solve this problem.
When the day came, Twilight and Butterflower came out of hiding. Twilight Sparkle left the mare’s house to think how to solve this problem. Twilight Sparkle smelled pancakes. She looked left and saw a waiter handing a pancake stack to a stallion. Twilight Sparkle has always loved pancakes. Pancakes have always been your favorite snack. Her belly growled. Twilight Sparkle decided to go to the restaurant. At least eating will help you think better. Twilight sat next to the stallion That was eating pancakes. She took a Menu with her magic to choose from, “Have you chosen, Miss?”
Twilight Sparkle took her eyes off the menu to answer, “Yes. I’d like pancakes”, the stallion jotted the order before entering the restaurant.
Twilight Sparkle decided to take a book that she brought. Too bad the books she brought didn’t talk about haunted villages.
“Have you heard?” asked the stallion next to Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight Sparkle looked at the stallion, “I’ve heard of what?”
“That there is a forest inside the village”, answered the stallion.
“But there is a forest. The Everfree Forest”, said Twilight Sparkle.
The stallion shook his head, “no, no. Everypony knows it. I’m talking about the forest in which the creatures come out and live”
“Are you talking about Everfree Forest?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“No. I am mentioning another forest that it have here in the village”, replied the stallion.
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “Is there another forest besides Everfree Forest?”
The stallion smiled, “Yes, Miss…”
“Twilight Sparkle”, said Twilight Sparkle.
“… Twilight Sparkle. If you want, I can show you”, said the stallion.
“Really? Thanks. What’s your name?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“My name is Cherry Cake”, answered Cherry Cake.
“OK. Thank you, Cherry Cake”, said Twilight Sparkle.
The waiter brought the Twilight Sparkle pancakes and set them on the table. Twilight Sparkle began to eat.
After Cherry Cake and Twilight finished eating the pancakes, she and Cherry Cake left the restaurant. Of course they paid before leaving. Twilight Sparkle followed Cherry Cake, “So where is this forest?”
Cherry Cake looked at Twilight Sparkle, “It’s very close to the village”
“How close?”
“At the end of the village”
“Is the end of the village too away?” asked Twilight Sparkle. She wasn’t in a hurry. But she just wanted to know if the village was big.
“Well, a little”, said Cherry Cake.
Twilight Sparkle had an idea, “I already know. I can teleport us to the end of the village!”
The stallion smiled, “It’s a good idea”
Twilight Sparkle closed her eyes before using her magic and a pink magic to cover them both and disappear. When the pink magic returned, it was already at the end of the village. Twilight Sparkle opened her eyes, “I did it”
Cherry Cake smiled, “yes. You did it”, the stallion began to walk away.
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “wait. Don’t you want to come along with me?”
Cherry Cake shook her head, “no, Twilight. You wanted me to just show you. Now it’s up to you”, said that, he left.
Twilight Sparkle didn’t understand why the skin-colored stallion didn’t want to come along. But she would respect his decision. She looked into the forest before starting to enter the forest.
“Twilight! Twilight! Wait! You have to wear this!” exclaimed Butterflower in a yellow raincoat. But it was no use. Twilight Sparkle had already entered the forest.
In the woods, Twilight Sparkle was already a little way from the village. She couldn’t help noticing that the forest seemed quite clear by day. She needed to see what these creatures were like. It was her princess’s duty to defend her subjects and friends. She was already a little distant from the village. Suddenly, she heard sound of footsteps. She hid behind a tree. Twilight Sparkle was tense to be seen. The steps increased. Meaning the creatures were approaching. Twilight Sparkle was now with her ears down and her eyes closed. She hoped to not be seen. The footsteps slowed, meaning that the creatures were going away. Twilight Sparkle let out a sigh of relief. She looked back and saw two ponies with a red cape. So this was how these creatures were? She needed to search the library in this village to find out what these red-capped ponies were. She wanted to use teleportation spell. But she feared it would make a lot of noise. So she had an idea. Twilight used an invisibility spell. This would prevent her from being seen. She just hoped the invisibility spell wouldn’t fail her now. Each time she passed a child she feared they would see her. But Twilight knew she was invisible, so she didn’t have to worry.
Arriving in the village, Twilight undid the invisibility spell. She planned to go to the village library. If it had a library, of course. Twilight Sparkle passed the ponies and foals of the village. Some foals were playing, others were with their parents. Twilight Sparkle smiled at that. She was happy that they were happy playing during the day. When she arrived at the library, she couldn’t help feeling happy. Libraries have always been your favorite places. She opened the door with her magic and began searching for the village’s history.
Within minutes, she found a book titled “History of Our Village”, Twilight Sparkle found this title name for an interesting book. She decided to sit in a chair to read about the history of this village.
“In a village, far from Ponyville, there is a village in Everfree Forest. Where by day, ponies have their happy days, they can leave their homes and talk with their friends. But when night comes, the village ponies must stay in their homes and be hidden in their basements. These creatures were known as The Creature. The Creature dresses in a red cape and may look like a pony because of walking through four hooves and even innocents. But, they are actually very dangerous creatures. If somepony has something red in the village or if they enter their forest, they will go to the village to kill the village ponies. But one night, two alicorn princesses were able to exile these creatures with the Elements of Harmony. And from that night on, the village was safe. But, they say that in the thousandth year, the creatures would be released from their prisons and would return to the village every night to cause fear and death to the ponies who dare to leave their homes at night. Celestia, the princess of the day and ruler of Equestria, offered yellow raincoat to all villagers to protect themselves when they enter the forest. And from there, the ponies live safely during the day, at least.
Twilight Sparkle closed the book. She never imagined that Celestia and Luna saved the village using the Elements of Harmony. Will she and her friends also have to use the elements of harmony in these creatures? If that was the solution, she would have to leave this village and return to Ponyville to warn her friends. But it makes no sense. Because the map sent only her and not her friends with her. Well, she would have to find a way to stop that. She was also happy that her former mentor helped this village. She wanted to try talking to these creatures, but Twilight feared that these creatures wouldn’t listen to her and would end up hurting her in the process. Twilight got up from her chair to put the book back on the shelf. That done, she left the library. Twilight intended to have lunch now. She went to the restaurant and saw Butterflower and Cherry Cake. These two ponies proved to be around her, although she didn’t even know them well. But she intended to get to know them better after she solved this friendship problem. To tell the truth, she was beginning to think she was in a horror movie. During the day, everything was good. But when night came, bad things happened. She needed a plan. But which?
“Twilight. Glad you’re here!” said Butterflower. “Why didn’t you hear me? Why did you enter the forest without a yellow raincoat?”
Twilight Sparkle was confused, “what do you mean yellow raincoat?”
“You need to wear a yellow raincoat if you’re going into that forest,” said Butterflower. “Now the creatures will come to the village tonight because of you”
Twilight Sparkle was surprised, “no. I didn’t wanted that to happen”
“Sorry, Twilight. But when somepony enters the creature forest, the creatures sense the pony’s presence”, said Butterflower.
Twilight Sparkle was worried, but soon recovered, “I’ll have to face them”
Butterflower was surprised, “what? Face them? Are you crazy?”
“I need to do this, Butterflower. For your safety And everypony else”, said Twilight Sparkle.
“You don’t understand. There are so many of them!” said Butterflower.
“How many are there?” wanted to know Twilight Sparkle.
“A thousand”, answered Butterflower.
Twilight Sparkle was surprised, but soon recovered, “don’t worry. As a princess, I will protect you and all from them”
Butterflower handed over the yellow raincoat, “take that yellow raincoat. They won’t attack you if you use it”
“Ok. Now i will just wait until nightfall”, said Twilight Sparkle.
It was already night and the village bell began to ring. The ponies began running back to their homes. Twilight Sparkle put on the yellow raincoat that Butterflower gave and waited for The Creatures to come. It took a while but when the creatures came out of the forest, they headed toward the village. Seeing a pony in the street. They ran to this pony to attack. But seeing the lavender Alicorn in a yellow raincoat, they ran away. Twilight Sparkle charged her magic as she ran after them. She managed to attack both creatures. Now it would go after the other creatures. When she arrived at the place where the creatures were, she used a damage spell on all creatures. The creatures might be afraid of the yellow color, but they will try to rip the cover that Twilight wore. They were passing very fast, and to the misfortune of Twilight, the cover began to tear. Twilight realized it was time for her to teleport. She ran off. The creatures ran after Twilight. The creatures were very close to Twilight. She used her magic to teleport. The creatures stopped running and became confused.
When Twilight Sparkle arrived in the village, she decided to open her backpack and drink some water. That rush made her thirsty. After she finished drinking, Twilight heard footsteps. Twilight Sparkle, not wanting to be seen by the creatures, teleported to a roof of a house to observe everything. She was confused to see Cherry Cake. Why was Cherry Cake out of his house and more importantly, why did he wear a red raincoat? Twilight Sparkle used an invisibility spell on herself to spy on him. She flew off the roof. And also put a spell of silence on their hooves. She didn’t want him and the creatures to hear her footsteps.
Cherry Cake put the cap of his cape over his head so no one would know who he was. Although he knew no one would find out he was the boss of The Creatures. The other leaders of the creatures were their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and other members of their family. He walked towards the forest. But what he didn’t know was that Twilight Sparkle was following him.
When Cherry Cake arrived where the other creatures were. The creatures were talking to each other until Cheese Cake started talking. The creatures looked at their leader, “very well, folks. Tomorrow I’ll bring that alicorn to the forest ”
Twilight Sparkle couldn’t believe it. Cherry Cake was the villain. She needed to warn the mayor of this village. She ran off. But to her misfortune, she stumbled and fell to the floor. Cherry Cake and the Creatures heard and looked back and saw that Twilight Sparkle was on the floor. Yes. The invisibility spell is no longer effective. Twilight Sparkle was rolling her eyes while smiling and had her tongue sticking out, “Twilight is here !! Don’t let her get away!”
Twilight Sparkle woke up to see Cherry Cake and the Creatures were surrounding her. Twilight Sparkle teleported before rushing off. They watched Twilight Sparkle run and went after her. Twilight Sparkle was nervous about not getting to the mayor’s house and she didn’t even know where the mayor’s house was. She needed to be lucky.
Arriving at the village, Twilight started knocking on the door of all residents saying, “please. Let me in. There are Creatures behind me!”
A pony with a tie answered the door, “come in”, Twilight Sparkle came in and watched the stallion lock the door, “come follow me”, the stallion opened the basement and down the steps. Twilight followed him, before following him into the basement, she locked the basement so Cheese Cake and the Creatures wouldn’t enter.
“What are you doing at this time of night on the street? It’s dangerous”, said the stallion.
“I needed to figure out a way to stop these Creature attacks”, answered Twilight Sparkle.
“There is no stopping them, Miss ...”
“Twilight Sparkle”
“I have no way of stopping them, Twilight Sparkle”, said the stallion.
“No. There is a way”, said Twilight Sparkle.
“Really? Which one?” wanted to know the stallion.
Twilight Sparkle began to whisper her plan.
When Cherry Cake arrived in the village with the Creatures. He started knocking on every door, “I know you’re hiding in one of those houses, Twilight. Reveal yourself or my creatures will enter all the houses by force”
A door opened revealing Twilight Sparkle and a stallion with a tie. The stallion looked at Cherry Cake in surprise.
“Cherry Cake!”
“M-Mayor Colt!”
Colt went to Cheese Cake, “What does all this mean?” asked Colt, not at all pleased.
“I can explain”
“Why did you bring the creatures to the village?”
Cheese Cake didn’t know what to do, he was discovered, “I… Er… I…”
“Did you bring them in to attack the village?” wanted to know Colt.
“No, no. Imagine”, lied Cherry Cake with a smile.
“He’s lying. I heard him say that he planned to take me to the forest where the creatures were”, confessed Twilight Sparkle.
Colt looked back at Cherry Cake, “Youll be taken to Princess Celestia’s castle”, when Cheese Cake heard the word“ Princess Celestia ”, he was afraid.
“I can send her a letter, Mayor”, said Twilight Sparkle.
Colt looked at Twilight Sparkle, “really? You can?”
“Yes. Do you have a scroll and a quill in your house? ”asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Yes. Follow me”, said Colt, before entering his house. Twilight Sparkle followed, and Cheese Cake followed, though he seemed sorry for his actions.
Arriving in the bedroom, Twilight Sparkle took a quill, dipped the quill in ink, and began writing to Celestia.
“Dear Princess Celestia, I came to a village to solve a friendship problem. In this village, I discovered that they saw creatures at night, forcing the ponies into their hidden homes. He will be sent to your Canterlot castle by the village mayor, signed Twilight Sparkle”
When she finished writing, Twilight Sparkle sent the letter with her magic. She looked at Colt and Cheese Cake, “I already sent the letter to princess. Now you two must go to Canterlot Castle”, Cherry Cake was nervous as Colt nodded. He motioned for Cherry Cake to follow him. Cheese Cake did what was ordered, despite being scared.
Twilight Sparkle watched them leave before she took off her yellow raincoat and left the village to return to Canterlot. Twilight figured Spike must be worried about her already, so she was hoping to get to Ponyville as soon as possible.
