//-------------------------------------------------------// FlutterDash - Unexpected Tragedies -by ZaydenLennox- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// The Unexpected Truth //-------------------------------------------------------// The Unexpected Truth Rainbow Dash paced anxiously back and forth in the bedroom of her cloud mansion. Her mind was racing and she just couldn't get her thoughts straight. She thought of all the ways that everything could go wrong, how she would have nowhere to go. Usually, she would have an overload of cocky confidence, but that was all gone now. It was like it had just disappeared, thrown out and blown away by the wind. The sun was setting, which meant she had to do it soon. She had to tell her, but could she? Did she want to risk losing all her friends? The nervous mare sat down on her bed and pondered whether this was truly a good idea. Rainbow tried to calm herself by thinking of the positives of the situation, but to her dismay, she couldn't find any. All she could think about were all the ways that everything could go wrong and how her friends could shame and despise her. She buried her face in her hooves and shook her head. She thought of how Fluttershy would probably tell their all friends then they would make fun of her. She thought of how Twilight would probably find a spell to banish her to some faraway region. She knew that didn't sound like her friends at all, but she was letting fear get the best of her. Even if her friends didn’t hate her afterward, it would still be embarrassing if Fluttershy said she didn't feel the same. Rainbow Dash sighed. She stood up and wandered over to her bedroom window. She could just barely see Fluttershy's cottage in the distance on the edge of Ponyville. She had always marveled at how well sustained the cottage was, even with how many animals she had to care for. She wished so badly to be in the cottage with the butter-yellow mare snuggled up on a blanket. She wondered if she would ever be welcomed back to her cottage again if the Pegasus mare were to reject her. She hated the thought of never seeing Fluttershy again. Rainbow sighed once more. She knew she had to tell her. She knew that if she didn't she would never cease thinking about it. The nervous Pegasus opened her bedroom window and carefully climbed out. She slowly spread her wings and flew out of her cloud mansion into the now much darker sky and towards Fluttershy's cottage. She flew at a slower pace than she usually flew. She would normally dart through the sky as fast as lightning, being sure to make a big entrance to anypony she'd encounter, but this time, she wasn't concerned about flying fast nor was she concerned about big entrances, instead she was trying to prolong this flight for as long as possible. Despite how nervous she was, she couldn't help but fantasize about the stunning mare. She was thinking of her gorgeous butter yellow fur and her lively pink mane. She thought of her beautifully sleek body figure, along with the sound of her soft and caring voice. She thought about it so much she almost thought she could hear it. "Rainbow Dash!" She thought she could hear her say. "man, I knew my imagination was vivid, but this has never happened." She chuckled then turned to her right and saw the butter-yellow mare standing a couple of yards away with a worried expression on her face. Rainbow felt her face getting warmer as she saw Fluttershy, but she was also concerned because of the worried expression on the timid Pegasus's face, but she didn't have much time to think about that. BANG She flew into a tree and fell to the ground, hitting multiple branches on the way down. She could faintly hear Fluttershy talking to her after she hit the ground but couldn't make out what she was saying through the ringing in her ears. All she could see was her worried expression before her vision slowly started to blur until everything when black. Rainbow awoke on Fluttershy's couch in a daze. "Wh-What happened?" Rainbow Dash asked as her vision slowly started to come to. Once she could see again, she noticed she was alone in the living room. Rainbow started to get up to find Fluttershy and ask how she got there but felt a sharp pain in her back, that was enough for her to remember hitting the tree. She also noticed that there were bandages around her back and her right-wing, Fluttershy must have done that, Rainbow loved how caring Fluttershy was to everyone. She sat back down and noticed that there was a small table with a piece of paper and a cup of water on it. She picked up the paper and started reading it. Hey Dashie, I didn't want to wake you because you needed rest after a big fall like that so I brought you to my cottage. I hope you don't mind that I bandaged you up a bit; you were bleeding badly in some places and I didn't want you to lose too much blood. There's some water on the table for you, help yourself to whatever is in the kitchen if you get hungry. Just try not to wake my animal friends, please. your friend, Fluttershy Rainbow felt her face heat up at the nickname in the note. She liked when Fluttershy called her Dashie; it made her feel special. She looked at the clock which read 2:29 AM and decided to find a late-night snack. She opened the fridge and looked around. She decided not to have any vegetables because she knew Fluttershy's beloved pet Angel Bunny would be furious if his breakfast wasn't perfect that morning so she closed the fridge. After some looking around, she just decided to have some oats. She makes her bowl of oats as quietly as she could and started to walk back to the living room, but as she walked past the stairs so thought she heard something. She couldn't make out what it was, but it almost sounded like whimpering, she feared that something might be wrong with Fluttershy so she carefully set her bowl down on the table and tiptoed up the first few stairs. Now she could hear it more clearly, and her fears we almost confirmed, she realized it didn't sound like whimpering anymore; it sounded like crying Now Rainbow was worried, so she tiptoed up the rest of the stairs and slowly made her way closer to the sound. She followed the sound until she stood in front of Fluttershy's bedroom door. She put her ear to the door to see if she could find out what was wrong. She could start to faintly hear Fluttershy speak through her sobs "I-I'm s-so sorry!" She heard her say in between sobs, "I-I'm s-such a disappointment" Rainbow Dash knew Fluttershy wasn't a disappointment, and she couldn't let her think that she was. She turned the doorknob and slowly opened the door, as the door creaked open she heard the clinging of metal against the wooden floor as of something had fallen, as soon as she saw Fluttershy she forgot all about the pain from the fall, she felt as if her entire world had shattered. She couldn't believe what she was seeing; it had to be a dream; she blinked her eyes several times but to no avail. This was real. She felt tears began to form in her eyes, she couldn't believe this was real, she couldn't believe that Fluttershy would do this to herself.
