They were parents of two ponies, Screwball and Zany. Screwball was married to former Prince Mothball of the changelings. He and Screwball had a single daughter named Moonlight. She was a foal with a midnight coat with turquoise hair with strips of white. She had her father’s wings and her mother’s swirly eyes. She had a small fang, which was inherited from her grandfather. But now, Fluttershy was expecting another foal. Which came sooner than they wanted.

Five Years LaterView OnlineDiscord’s Worst FearFive Years LaterScrewball and Mothball were walking up to the “Castle of Chaos” with Moonlight in hoof. As they got to the door, they could hear a large crash and a yell that sounded like Discord. Screwball knocked and opened the door. “Mom, dad?”, she asked, “Is this a bad time?”. She opened the door all the way to see all of the furniture floating with Fluttershy trying to put it back on the ground, and Discord was chasing Coco. “No, no!”, Fluttershy said, flying towards them, “Although, Mothball, can you help me with the furniture? And Screwball, can you help your father catch your sister?” “Uh-”, Mothball muttered, “We brought Moonlight...” “Moonlight? “, Coco muttered Suddenly Coco popped up in front of Moonlight. “Moony!” “Coco!” Then they popped out of sight. Screwball could hear a faint pop in the room above. “Good,”, sighed Fluttershy, “Now to-” “Done”, Mothball beamed, standing next to the furniture that was now back on the ground. “Oh”, Fluttershy said gratefully , “Thank you so much Mothball.” “Oh”, Mothball replied, “It was nothing Mrs. Drac, Draco, Draco Malfoy? Sorry, I guess I still can’t say your last name.” “ Don’t worry”, Fluttershy answered, “Just call me Fluttershy, I am your mother-in-law after all” “Good”, Screwball thought, “Mothy has mom on a first name basis. Now he just needs to get dad on a-” “Get dad on a what?”, Discord asked. “Nothing!”, Screwball answered, startled. “Oh, sure.”, Discord said with a smirk. They suddenly heard a yell coming from upstairs. “Mom!”, Moonlight yelled from upstairs. “Oh well, duty calls!”, Screwball said, relieved that something could take her away from her and her father’s awkward moment. Screwball teleported upstairs, “What seems to be the problem girls-”, she asked. But she stopped as she saw the girls were not in the room. “Mom! Dad! Mothy!”, she yelled to her family downstairs. They immediately popped up, “ You called?”, Discord asked but stopped when he saw the room around him. There was a tall hole in the wall with burn marks around it, the window was broken, there was green spider web goo everywhere, and the furniture was broken all over the floor. “What happened...”, whispered Fluttershy. “What happened here?”, Mothball muttered as he walked over to a puddle of green goo. “Oh no”, he thought as he picked up a piece of the goo. Behind him, Discord’s eyes were flaming. “I think I know who did this.”, both Discord and Mothball said together. “No”, Screwball whimpered, “was this Crysali-” “Don’t say her name!”, Discord yelled. FLASHBACK -we are taken back to the battle in Disney Fanatic 2468’s Daughter of Discord between Discord and Chrysalis. Chrysalis has pinned Discord and is about to zap him.- “No!”, Fluttershy shouted as she flew to save Discord. “Mom! No!”, Screwball shouted, seeing her mom flying into battle. Fluttershy pushed Discord out of the way and... “Wha!”, she screamed as she took the blast. “Fluttershy!”, Discord yelled in vain. He rushed over to his fallen bride. “No, no, no, no, no! Fluttershy...”, he whimpered. “Discord...”, she whispered. “Yes, I’m here!”, he answered “Take care of the kids, they need you..”, Fluttershy whispered to him. “No, don’t talk like that! I can save you!”, Discord said while trying to heal her with his magic. “Dad, Chrysalis stole our magic...”, Screwball croaked. She cried and cried. “Discord”, Fluttershy said. “Yes, Fluttershy?”, he answered. “You are the only stallion I ever loved..”, she whispered. She sat up, kissed him and fell backwards into Discord’s arms. “Fluttershy?” “Mom?” “Fluttershy!” “Mom!” The rest of the mane six murmured and cried. Discord held his “dead” wife in his hands with Screwball crying over her body. Discord gently set her body down and stood up to face Chrysalis. “Now you know what it’s like to have your heart ripped out of your chest!”, she spat. One battle Song Later.... “Bwhahahahaha!”, Chrysalis laughed, “ Say hello to your wife for me!” -Zrrrr!- Chrysalis shot another blast that hit Discord straight in the chest. Earlier.... -we are now in a forest, Chrysalis is standing over Screwball. Chrysalis just revealed herself as Zany.- “What have you done with my brother?!”, Screwball yelled, staring straight into the face of Chrysalis. “Oh, I just had some of my guards pluck him out of his crib.”, Chrysalis answered, “The hard part was keeping him entertained. Although, foals give love so freely.”, she licked her lips, “Delicious.” PRESENT DAY “She has torn this family apart too many times.”, Discord sighed. “What are we going to do?”, Fluttershy asked. “We are going to rescue them!”, Discord shouted. “Ok”, Fluttershy responded, “I will go get my friends and the elements.” “We might not need them”, Mothball muttered, “but it might be good just in case.” Fluttershy and Discord left the castle, leaving Screwball and Mothball in Coco’s room. “Oh Mothy,”, Screwball whispered, “I’m worried, what if-” “She’s strong”, Mothball replied, “Don’t worry.” “Alright.”, Screwball surrendered. Mantis had transformed into a pegasus before they started heading home to the “Castle of Chaos”. When they were flying over the forest, they saw some ponies in a clearing. Upon closer inspection , Coco saw it was Discord, Mothball, Screwball, and Fluttershy with the rest of the main six. All heading towards the changing hive. “Oh no!”, Moonlight whispered, “They are going to bust in to find we are not there!” “Let’s head to your castle, then you can teleport them to our location.”, Mantis suggested. “The castle is to far, let’s just set down somewhere in this forest”, Coco said. So they found a clearing and Moonlight had Mantis hide because her mother can tell when it is a changeling. Once they were ready, Coco teleported the party there. “Whoa!”, Mothball yelled. “Agh!”, the mane six yelled as they collapsed on each other. “Ok, who did that?!”, both Screwball and Discord said, they were the only ones who did not fall down. “I did.”, Coco said. They all whipped around to see Moonlight and Coco standing there. “My baby!”, Fluttershy squealed, running up to Coco with Discord not far behind. “Moonlight!”, Screwball yelled, hugging Moonlight with all her and Mothball’s might. “But, how?”, Twilight wondered out loud. “Uhhh...”, Coco groaned, trying to think of something that would not give Mantis away. “One of them helped us out.”, Moonlight said. “That is impossible”, Discord said, “Changelings don’t have hearts.” “Daddy has one!”, Moonlight said. “Well, Mothball is the only one who has a heart.”, Fluttershy replied. “General Mantis has a heart.”, Moonlight muttered. “What did you say?”, Rainbow Dash asked, a bit too harsh. “I said, GENERAL MANTIS HAS A HEART!!!”, she yelled, “Come out.” On cue, Mantis came out of the bushes. “CHANGELING!!!”, Rarity screamed. “Get behind me, girls!”, Discord yelled. “Every pony, STOP!”, Mothball yelled. Everything went still. “It is good to see you, Mantis.”, Mothball said with a smile. “You too, your highness.”, Mantis said with a bow. “Mantis, you know I no longer go by that title.”, Mothball laughed, “An I should be the one bowing to you, this is twice you have saved my favorite ponies.” “Twice?”, Screwball interrupted. “Yes, do you remember, after my mother stole all of your magic you teleported away-”, Mothball started. “-And I woke up in Zecora’s hut.”, Screwball said, confused, “but what does that have to do with Mantis?” “How do you think we got there in one piece? It was because of Mantis we were not caught!”, Mothball explained. “Oh...”, Screwball groaned. Then, to every pony’s surprise, she ran and hugged him. “Screwy!”, Discord said, startled, “what are you doing?!” “I am thanking my daughter’s rescuer, duh.”, she stubbornly replied. “Oh, umm...”, Mantis started, but decided against it.Then every pony came in for a hug. Every pony except Discord. “Ok, ok.”, Discord said, “I’m grateful too, but can we go home now?” “Yeah.”, Coco answered, letting go of Mantis. “Wait”, Pinkie Pie stopped every pony, “What will happen when Chrysalis finds out?” Back At The Changeling Hive... “Mantis!!!!!”, Chrysalis bellowed, “Mantis you TRAITOR!!! YOU SCUM!” All of the other changelings were hiding while she cursed the very air Mantis breathed. “That’s it!”, she cried, finally calming down, “I shall attack and have a TRIPLE revenge!”
The AttackView OnlineDiscord’s Worst FearThe AttackAuthor's Note This is the longest chapter in my book, as you keep reading... don’t get mad at my bad rhyming.😅 The Attack Ever since Mantis helped Coco and Moonlight get home, every pony was paranoid that Chrysalis would attack. But after three weeks, they started to stop being worried. Things were good for a while. Moonlight started dating Mantis, Coco had her fifth birthday, and every pony was getting used to having Mantis around the house. Then somepony came to visit.. “Celestia!”, Twilight shrieked, “What are you doing here?!” “I figured,”, Celestia responded, “that I should meet Mantis. It has been several weeks since he saved Moonlight and Coco. “Hey Manty!”, Moonlight yelled into the other room, “The princess wants to meet with you!” “I thought you said you would not call me that.”, he grumbled as he walked into the room. “Greetings, Mantis. Or should I say, Manty?”, she added that last part so only Moonlight could hear. Moonlight laughed very hard. At least until Mantis gave her his death glare. “Would you like some tea, princess?”, Fluttershy asked. And with that, Celestia, Discord, and Fluttershy left the room. Leaving Coco, Moonlight, Mantis, Mothball, and Screwball in the living room. Suddenly, there was a big BOOM and the roof collapsed on those in the living room. Every pony rushed in from the dining room to see every pony struggling in the rubble. “What happened?!”, Discord demanded, helping Screwball and Coco out of the rubble. “I don’t know!”, Mothball coughed. He helped Moonlight out and she did a head count. “Wait where is Mantis?!”, she yelled. They searched and searched, but to no avail. Discord removed the rubble, but he was no where to be found. Celestia left to go to Canterlot. “He must have ditched!”, Coco said. “But why?”, Moonlight thought. “I’m sorry for questioning your methods my queen, but why did we cave their roof in?”, a Changeling asked. “I caved their roof in so that we could get them dented before fighting them.”, Chrysalis responded angrily. She spun around when she heard rustling in the bushes behind her. Mantis then emerged out of the bushes. Then he transformed into another female changeling. “Did they see you leave?”, Chrysalis asked her. “No, my queen.”, she replied, “Anything to get back at Mantis for stripping me of my rank.” “I knew you would be capable of ponynapping Mantis.”, Chrysalis stated, “But how did you replace him without Screwball knowing?” “Oh, I simply used the fact she was so grateful and the fact that he too is a changeling.”, she answered simply, “So, what did you do with Mantis?” “Oh, let’s just say, I had some friends come ‘meet’ him.”, she laughed cruelly. “I knew he was a traitor!”, Rainbow said simply. “He’s not a traitor!”, Moonlight argued. This fight had been going on ever since Mantis disappeared. “Oh, I don’t feel too good..”, Moonlight thought. Then, suddenly, Moonlight collapsed. “Moony!”, Coco shouted, being the first to notice. Every pony rushed over to her unconscious body. “She’s so cold and practically lifeless.”, Coco told Mothball. “Cold and-”, Mothball gasped, realizing what happened to his daughter, “We need to take her to Zecora’s!” The entire party rushed over to Zecora’s house. Every pony knocked. “Who is knocking at this hour?”, she asked, opening the door, “Why Mothball, why do you look so sour?” He showed her Moonlight and her expression switched to those of every pony before her. “Come in, ”, she told everyone in front of her, “lie her on my bed. Do tell me what has hurt her head.” “Well, we don’t really know.”, Applejack muttered. “I think I know what happened”, Mothball spoke up. “I do have a thought .”, Zecora also said, “But you’ll have to tell me yours for me to be bought.” “I think Mantis drained her powers.”, Mothball said, which made ever pony except Discord and Zecora gasp. “Yes, she is as cold as Screwball”, Zecora said, felling her head, “When she was brought by Mothball.” “Can you help her?”, Coco asked. “Of course .”, she replied, “But please, do not shout yourselves hoarse. Come in and have some tea. It is hot, so don’t drink it quickly.” So she led them all into the house and poured them each some tea as Mothball placed Moonlight on the bed. Once they all got tea, chocolate milk for Mothball, she made a batch of soup. “What are you making?”, Pinkie asked. “Zecora is making a soup for Moonlight”, Mothball answered. “Do not fret”, Zecora said, holding a bowl full of soup, “Mothball is correct.” She motioned for Mothball to come help her give Moonlight the medicine. Then, two ponies burst through into Zecora’s hut. “Aqua Fresh? Lightning Dash? What are you two doing here?”, Screwball asked. “We need you!”, Aqua shrieked, “All of you!” “Why?”, they all asked. “The changelings are attacking!”, Lightning yelled. Every pony except Moonlight left Zecora’s hut and sprinted to Ponyville to see it in chaos. Changelings were everywhere. Right in the center was... “Chrysalis!”, Discord yelled across the battlefield. “Ahh, Dissy!”, Chrysalis said, trotting over to them, “I thought you weren’t going to come! Especially after that roof incident..” Discord growled at her. Behind him, he heard another, drowsy voice. “I came as soon as I co...could”, Moonlight said to her mother. “But you were supposed to stay with Zecora!”, Screwball yelled in disapproval. Seeing her chance, Chrysalis shot a beam straight at Moonlight. “Moony!”, Coco shouted, “look out!” Moonlight braced for a blow, but it did not come. She opened her eyes to see Chrysalis’s beam was being counter attacked by another, weaker beam. Her eyes followed the beam to her the source and she saw.. “Mantis!”, she cried running up to him. The closer she got, the more she could see of Mantis. He was limping, his horn was slightly broken, he had a black eye, and bruises all over his body. “Mantis, What happened?”, she asked. Let’s just say Chrysalis had me meet some of her friends”, he answered gruffly. She and Mantis trotted down to where every pony, even Chrysalis was watching. “Mantis!”, Chrysalis spat, “Why aren’t you hanging out with my friends?” “Your ‘friends’ got bored.”, Mantis replied, “Sorry, But I think they need a new rag doll.” This made Chrysalis even more mad. She launched herself at Discord who also launched at her, and the battle commenced. Mantis was fighting another changeling general, Moonlight and Coco we’re blasting changelings with Mothball and Screwball, and the main six where fighting copies of themselves. Chrysalis was thrown into a building by Discord, when she saw her chance to get back at Discord, Mothball, and Mantis in one fell swoop. She shot another beam at Moonlight, who was too busy fighting to notice. “Ha! You missed!”, Discord laughed. “I never miss.”, she said pointing at Moonlight. Moonlight saw this beam to late. But.. “Mantis! No!”, she yelled seeing the changeling sprinting towards her. -zrrrrr!- Mantis flipped through the air and landed a few feet away from Moonlight. “No!”, Moonlight cried as she flew over to him. “Mantis, Mantis! Wake up!”, she cried, picking him up. -cough-cough- “Mantis?”, “Moony...”, he whispered, opening his good eye. “Ha, Mantis.”, Moonlight laughed, “ You have to stop saving me, it gets you hurt!” “I saved you, because I love you.”, he said, And with that Mantis pulled her down into a kiss. Then, there was a blinding light, and Mantis was replaced with a cocoon. “Daddy! What is happening!”, Moonlight yelled to her father. She touched the cocoon and it burst open with another pulse of light. Mantis emerged with no more injuries and his appearance changed dramatically. He was now green, orange, and purple instead of black and turquoise. “Whoa, what the heck?”, Coco muttered in amazement. “But, how?! That blast was supposed to kill whoever got hit by it!”, Chrysalis said, confused. “Hey, Mothy..”, Screwball asked, “how come you didn’t do that?” “I have no idea..”, Mothball replied. “Mantis?”, Moonlight asked. “I feel fine.. great actually....”, he told her, looking at himself, “But What happened?” “WE DO NOT KNOW!”, Chrysalis yelled at them, “Can we just get on with the fight!?” “Yes. We. Can!”, Mantis said. Then, he blasted her with all his might. “Whoa.”, Rainbow muttered. “Uhh, you blasted her about a mile away..”, Discord calculated. Just as he finished his sentence, another, purple, blast came shooting from the direction Mantis blasted Chrysalis. Mantis transformed into an Ursa Major and grabbed everyone out of the way. Then he ran off, still as an Ursa Major, towards an oncoming ‘Ursa Chrysalis’. There were a series of blasts and one of the Ursa Majors came back, dragging the other behind it. They both transformed back and, to everyone’s relief, saw it was Mantis who was dragging Chrysalis. “Well that was fast.”, Moonlight said, dazed. “And easy.”, Mantis added, “I never knew she could be so easy to beat.” “Seriously?”, Discord mumbled. “Oh, stop it, Daddy.”, Screwball told him, “When you fought her, you didn’t have your powers.” “Okay, Okay.”, Discord stopped her, “Well, what are we going to do with her? She never listens when we exile her.” “Uh.. well, we could have the princesses put a force field around it, keeping her in.”, Mantis suggested. “Good idea.”, Twilight agreed, “I’ll send word to the princesses.” So Twilight left, with Chrysalis’s unconscious body in tow. The rest of the main six left and the rest went to go see what the damage was. Then, it was just Moonlight and Mantis. Then they kissed for a second time. When they let go, Mantis got down on one hoof. “What are you-”, she started. Then she gasped when he brought out a black box... “Moonlight, will you marry me?”, he asked, opening the box to reveal a shiny ring with a moon-shaped diamond in the middle. “Oh, Mantis”, she started, but was cut off. “I know it’s early and I know I’m a changeling. But my love for you will never change.”, he said. She said nothing. “Too cheesy?”, he asked her. “Yup.”, she replied and kissed him again whispering, “I do.”. Little did they know, Mothball and Discord we’re watching. When she said I do, they practically exploded. “Whoooo!”, Mothball yelled. “Another day, another wedding!”, Discord cheered. Then they all laughed till they decided to go home and fix the roof. Together.
The WeddingView OnlineDiscord’s Worst FearThe WeddingIt was the day before the wedding, and everything was a bit junky. Everything was crazy, no one was stuck on a schedule, and worse.. the groom was getting cold feet. “Oh, I don’t know... did I jump into this too early?!”, he frantically asked his Best Stallion, Mothball. “Dude, you lover her and she loves you! You are perfect to each other.”, he told him constantly. Things were just as bad with the ladies. “Oh, what if he leaves me at the alter?! I know that he thinks we jumped into this to quickly!”, Moonlight told her bridesmaids, the main six. “Oh, don’t worry! Mantis is a good pony.”, Coco, her flower girl, told her. “Yeah, so stop worrying!”, Rainbow comforted her. It was like this for the next day. Then, finally , the wedding was here. “Oh, where is she? Is she alright? Is she having second thoughts?”, Mantis muttered. “Moony would never do that. Besides, it hasn’t started yet.”, Discord told him, patting his shoulder. Then the “Wedding March” started. Everyone turned around to she Coco skipping down the hall with a basket of flower petals. Then came Gemstone, the ring bearer. Then, finally, Moonlight came. Every pony sighed at her appearance. Even Mantis melted slightly. “Save that look for your honeymoon.”, Mothball whispered to him. Moonlight was wearing a long, sky blue dress with a long train -held by birds-, a light blue veil, and stars along the hem of the dress and veil. “You look beautiful.”, Mantis told her. “You look handsome.”, she giggled back. “He, hem.”, Twilight said, “Fillies and gentlecoalts, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Moonlight and Mantis. They have loved each other so dearly that they have decided to become husband and wife here today. Do you, Mantis, take Moonlight as your wife. Through joy and through sorrow, through sick and health, until death do you part?” “Ummm...”, he started, forgetting what to say, “Oh! Yes, I do! I do.” “And do you, Moonlight, take Mantis as your husband. Through joy and sorrow, through sickness and through health, until death do you part?”, Twilight turned to Moonlight. “I do”, she replied. “The rings please.-she placed the rings on them-Then i now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”, Twilight said, stepping away as they embraced. Everyone cheered and Rainbow did a sonic rainboom. “Doesn’t that feel good.”, Moonlight told her husband. “Yes, yes it does.”, he replied, pulling her in for another kiss. Everyone was in the garden for the after party. It was almost over so Mantis and Moonlight we’re having a slow dance. “Hey, lovebirds,”, Spike called our, “Me and AJ got the carriage ready.” “Oh, thank you.”, Moonlight thanked them, “you can tell the ponies hauling it that they can take the night off.” “But how is the carriage going to move?”, Mantis asked “With my magic, sweetheart.”, Moonlight replied. So they both got into the carriage. “Oh! Almost forgot.”, Moonlight said, bringing out the bouquet. She threw it out the window and it landed straight in Coco’s arms. “Oh boy..”, she muttered as she watched the carriage disappear on the horizon. Author's Note I hope you enjoyed my story! In Chrysalis’s CaveView OnlineDiscord’s Worst FearIn Chrysalis’s Cave“Whoa..”, Moonlight moaned, “Wha.. what happened?” As Moonlight’s eyes came into focus, all of the memories came flooding in. “Wait”, she whispered, “why would daddy take me and Coco? Wait, Coco? Coco?! Where are you?!” “Moonlight?”, somepony murmured in the dark, “Where are we?” “Coco!”, Moonlight whisper-yelled, “Come here.” “Ack!”, Coco groaned, “ I can’t, I am attached to the ground in some way..” “Okay, I’ll come to you.”, Moonlight said. She slowly got up and made her way to where Coco’s voice was coming from. When she finally found her, she sat down next to her. “So,”, Coco whispered, “where are we?” “I don’t know”, Moonlight answered, “all I can remember is that ponies who look like my dad broke into our room and took us.” Suddenly, they heard another voice, “The prisoners are awake my queen.”, the voice said, with a bug like buzz on the end. “Good, thank you General.”, another voice replied. A higher, female voice. Then, all of the lights switched on and Moonlight saw that she and Coco were in a cage, Coco had a cuff around her neck attached to the floor with chain, and that the walls around them had holes in them. “Well, well, well.”, the female voice said again. Coco and Moonlight looked up to see a bug like pony. “I finally get to meet my granddaughter.”, Chrysalis droned on. “What?!”, the foals said together. “Take a good look at yourselves and me. Who do I look like? One of you got a few of my looks.”, she laughed. So they did, and Moonlight was disgusted at the result. “Nope!”, Moonlight growled, “I do not want to have a grandmother that ponynapps her own granddaughter!” “Oh, don’t take it personally.”, she told them, “This mainly to get back at both of your fathers.” “General Mantis!”, she barked suddenly. “Yes, my queen?”, said General Mantis. “Watch these two.”, she replied. Coco and Moonlight watched her leave before talking. “Ugh, why can’t I have a normal grandmother?!”, Moonlight growled. “Yeah, yeah.”, Coco told Moonlight, “Ugh! What is this and why can’t I get it off?!” “It stops your powers, so you can’t use them.”, General Mantis told her, flying up to the cage. He brought the keys. “What are you-”, Coco started, then gasped when he opened the door. “Come on.”, he said ,rushing over to get Coco out of the cuff. “Why are you doing this?”, Moonlight asked him. “Because Chrysalis has hurt your family far to many times.”, Mantis answered, “ and because I have a heart.” He muttered the last part so they would not hear, but Moonlight heard him. “Wait”, Coco stoped, “Mantis, won’t you get in trouble?” “Most likely, yes”, he said, without hesitation. “Then come with us!”, Moonlight told him, “I’m sure daddy will understand.” So Mantis did go with them, and they went back home.
