Chapters It’s So Easy
( Warning of alot of this fic is set in 80s so the views and actions back then are not as PC as today, this does not reflect my views or thoughts. )
“We are all that we need “ Adagio Dazzle stated to her sisters who were currently riding in the car with her. The siren turned human smirked as she brushed her long wavy blond hair out of her eyes and checked herself in the mirror before shifting the transmission into reverse and letting out the clutch . The car jerked forward as she shifted it into 1st , gas pedal descending the V8 roared to life as they heading down the sunset lit road , the air from the lowered windows causing a nice breeze as they cruised .
The Sirens had been on Earth for a few centuries at this point but they had kept themselves pretty low key during the unrest of the 60s and 70s , mainly so they could build themselves up a nice nestegg of goods and power to start their plans with ….and partly because of the social climate of the time favor them being so forward with themselves .
But now, it was the middle of the 1980s , it was IN to be into being rich, power and sex sold . It was a good time to be a Siren indeed so they had little to worry or need for , so as a group they had decided to take a well earned break and have some fun. To that end they had decided to hit The Strip, a happening section of the city full of bars, clubs and other dens of pleasure that would suit each of them ...sure they were Sirens and sisters...but that didn’t mean that they were joined at the hip.
Soon the trio arrived at their first stop, The Rainbow , a punk bar in West Hollywood known of being far tougher than its name would suggest , so Adagio pulled into a parking spot as close as the early evening crowd would allow and pulled the car into a parking space . “ Here...remember to make it last all night and If you aren’t at the meeting spot by midnight , well, you better have some left for a cab back to the house “ She opened her purse and then after a moment of digging handled over an envelope of money to Aria who took the money with little more then a grunt in thanks and headed to her club of choice . After waiting for Sonata to get out of the cramped backseat and moved to the more roomy passenger bucket seat , Adagio shifted the Trans am into gear and headed off to the next club, this time it was Sonata’s stop .
A few more minutes of driving saw the pair arrive at a happier looking bar with loud pop rock blaring from inside , Adagio gave mostly the same warning before about not missing the meeting time and handing over another envelope . Sonata turned before shutting the car door and tanked Adagio for the money but the elder sister added a final warning “ Sonata, just don’t blow it all on blow this time “ , with a nod Sonata headed into the poppy sounding bar .
Smirking to herself now that she was alone ….it was time for Adagio to go on the hunt. She adjusted herself before revving the Trans Am’s V8 and letting the tires bark as she dropped the clutch and drove to her bar of choice. She loved the feeling of the powerful car , the looks she got , the attention feeding her ego as she drove to the Whisky , her favorite bar as of late , and she had gotten lucky there every night so far so it was prime ground for her hunt.
Parking the car, Adagio stepped out, adjusted her jeans, pocketed the car keys into her purse and walked into the bar , the place smelled of cigs, spilled booze , and hormonal musk . Sitting at one of the only few open spots at the bar as the familiar tune of “Jump” played over the PA , She motioned to the bartender and asked the stocky looking man for a Sea Breeze . Nodding that he knew how to make it , he soon slide over the filled rocks glass of reddish drink.
Taking a sip of the tart/sour vodka laced cocktail Adagio looked around the bar to see who there might stir her attention for the night and then her ears centered on a girl who was shooting pool , she wore a leather jacket and her hair was a contrast of red and yellow ..Adagio had not seen her here before and was instantly intrigued. Sitting her now empty drink down at the bar with the money to cover it , Adagio sauntered to the pool table and enjoyed the view as she waited for the girl to finish her game before speaking .
“ So….just here for the pool or what ?” Adagio asked of the other younger looking ( but legal ) girl . The Whisky allowed many pleasures but underage patrons were not one of them . Looking up the other girl smirked with a prideful smile “ I’m here for a good time like all of us , name’s Sunset “
“Adagio” she said as she introduced herself to Sunset, taking a pool cue , she looked over the table “ up for a game and seeing how the night goes ?”
Sunset smiled back and racked up the balls in their holder as her reply to the offer ...bending over just a bit more than what was needed as she did so . Taking this as a tease , Adagio flaunted her own goods as she took aim for her first shot and soon the game was underway, both girls letting their egos feed each other , they both had a good time playing pool.
Adagio pointed back to the bar where two spots had opened up, She ordered another sea breeze for herself , and Sunset ordered herself a Tequila Sunrise , which they sipped on as they chatted for a bit , just casual boosting , ego tripping and enjoying each others company.
“So ...been in the area for long?...I haven’t seen you around before “ Adagio asked Sunset as she finished her now third cocktail and she checked her watch , 10pm, she had time .
“Just moved from….somewhere else “ Sunset left her answer open ended , it had seemed to be the easiest way to reply.
“Oh I see ….the mysterious type, well that’s fine by me , I’m not up for meeting the family yet….”
The leather jacketed girl laughed at the joke , sipped her drink in silence for a moment deciding she moved out here to have fun and cut loose. Which in a way, she had , and she was rather enjoying Adagio’s company this evening.
Adagio smiled , almost looking as if she expected the other girl to make the first move , of making this evening more than just pool and drinks, She even played with her long locks of flaxen hair as she teased .
Sunset , not wanting to be passed up as timid , smirked as she looked the blond up and down , admiring her curves and hair. Finishing her Long Island she cleared her throat and leaned in close enough to whisper to the other girl " So...you wanna see why they call it the Sunset Strip "
Sunset woke in a fog, her head pounding from the booze of last night , as a pale yellow arm hugged around her waist , she remembered being at the bar and the cute woman she had spent the evening with.
She lay there staring at the hotel room with it’s boring brown carpet , thinking to herself “ how many times have I been in situations just like this ….hungover in a cheap hotel with a new person that makes me feel wanted , if only just for fun. Sunset brushed a lock of her hair out of her eyes , thinking back to her talk with Adagio at the bar and just why she had mentioned she was not from around here, it was a slip up that she had not made recently , since the last time it happened drove her lover to ask too many questions that Sunset didn’t want to answer. Of course this caused a rift with the pair and Sunset decided it was best to move on. She hopped the next train to anywhere with her duffel bag and guitar case . As she lay there being spooned by Adagio she thought back to just how she ended up where she was .
Sunset’s life had been like this ever since she had got to this world, when she said she was not from around here , it wasn’t exactly a lie . She was formerly a gifted unicorn , a student of Princess Celestia Sol of Equestria , they had a falling out and in her desperation, Sunset used a ancient artifact and it sent her to Earth . It had taken her a good amount of time to get used to being bipedal , having to wear clothing and losing her magic, but she was determined to make the best of things here on Earth as the way back to Equestria was locked away.
The former prodigy spent her last gems and gold bits from her home at a pawn shop. She had to wait for the gold to be verified. As she waited, she looked around the store and she spotted a V shaped guitar with a flame over black pattern , she knew she had to have it . She also spotted a black leather jacket with silver pips lining the collar of it , she held it up beside the guitar and smiled, they matched.
Sunset took both up the counter, the owner of the pawn shop had finished his tests on the coins and informed Sunset of their value , she wasn’t sure of the man was honest with her but as a runaway from another dimension she didn’t have much choice . Sunset took the cash ,then exchanged some of it for the guitar and jacket which she slipped on . Before leaving the teller had mentioned she would need something called an “amp “ to make the guitar loud enough to be heard, none of the string instruments of Equestria needed such a device but Sunset chalked it up to one of many differences in her former and current realities. Sunset asked which would be small enough to use on the go and the teller soon had a portable amp boxed up for her to take.
Being a former prodigy, she had taken music lessons in Celestia’s school , Sunset had a solid basis in music theory so once she had a cheap motel rented she sat for hours and picked at the strings of her new guitar till she had gotten rather good. Of course by this point her stash of money was getting low so she asked the innkeeper how might she get a job that wouldn’t ask too many questions about her origins, the innkeep took a drag off of her smoke and replied “ well there's the old standby for us girls ...or if you can play music there are always gigs for fill in musicians or even bandmates , just gotta look for flyers. The innkeep stubbed out her smoke and pointed her figure to point eastward “ If ya walk 2 blocks down there is a Quick Stop convenience store , they should have some flyers up there , or just ask one of the stoners out front . “ Thanks “ Sunset said after waving the smoke that lingered out of her face and made her way to the store.
She soon passed the stoners that the innkeep had warned her about, a strange acting youth in a yellow coat and a chubby kid leaning up against the storefront, Sunset decided it was easier to go inside and ask the clerk as suggested so she did just that , she was pointed to a large cork board at the back of the store . Scanning the posters she found one that looked promising “ Gig guitarist needed for Flash and the Drivers “ taking the number, she took it to the payphone outside of the store and dialed it after dropping her quarter into the machine .
A teenage male answered and Sunset asked about the gig , at first he seemed skeptical that a chick would want to play in his band but Sunset being determined to get this gig, mentioned a few famous “chick “ guitarists like Lita Ford , Nancy Wilson and Jan K to name a few . He paused after he realized this girl might just know more about rock then he did and suggested she audition for the spot this coming Saturday when the rest of the band was available. After hanging up the payphone and starting her walk back to the cheap motel , Sunset thanked her lucky stars that she had made it a point to research the history of the guitar at the local library .
Sunset yawned as she shook her head dispelling the trip down memory lane ….that was her first gig and her first boyfriend , her and Flash had dated for a few months but he started asking too many personal questions that Sunset didn’t feel like answering , as if he would actually believe her if she told him the truth . After a night of fighting combined with underage drinking Sunset slipped out of Flash’s garage with her duffel bag of belongings and her guitar . She would miss that garage as it was a common crash spot for the band but her time here was done . Making her way to the train station she found an open spot in the chain link fence and waited for a train to hop .
This had been Sunset’s way of living for better or worse since she arrived on Earth , she would arrive in a town, find a band that needed a guitarist or session player , and end up dating or just sleeping with one of the band members and skipping town once things got too serious . Those people were fun but she never felt a connection to them , and they couldn’t understand her past of course .
As she was spooned by Adagio she felt the older womans breathes on the nape of her neck and she looked over at her guitar in the corner , it had gotten beat up in her journey but much like herself , it was gonna make it . Sunset snuggled into the spooning for now and pondered if maybe , just maybe , Adagio was different from the past lovers. In a way she was different, Sunset had met her at a bar and not as a bandmate for example.
Only ...Sunset didn’t know just how different Adagio was.
To Be With You
Adagio woke up a bit after sunrise as she snuggled closer to the girl she shared the hotel bed with, definitely not something new for her as of late and it even served to slake her siren thrist. Normally the trio only got their fill from performing their draining magic . Sunset made Adagio feel like she wouldn’t need to “feed” for days . Adagio thought it a bit strange and the feeling almost reminded her of home .
Once back in the ages of history The Sirens were powerful beings who could influence groups with their songs , but a meddling unicorn sent them to this world known Earth with some arcane mirror . They had lived through many decades here and had lived all over the globe, always settling in towns near seas. It was just their nature as sirens even in this world to feel too trapped in a landlocked area.
A few times the sisters had tried living apart , with lovers or just alone for a time but their health seemed to go downhill if they were split apart for too long of a time , Adagio just assumed it had to do with being sent through the mirror all at the same time . They all had learned to get along but living with her two sisters did have it’s issues , as anyone with siblings can attest to .
Adagio let herself snuggle more into the younger girl, the long red and yellow locks of her hair brushed Adagio’s nose and she smirked .., the scent on her lover’s hair was Mane and Tail shampoo. She chuckled at the irony of it before thinking back to her past with her sisters .
Sonata was pretty easy to get along if you could put up with her somewhat childish nature and her antics . She hadn’t always been like this but after a certain event she decided to act like she was much younger then she was , it helped her so Adagio didn’t mind in the slightest. Of course Sonata could act like an adult if she needed to but she didn’t have to like it .
Aria on the other hand , was always the one trying to instigate trouble and had even started a riot or two just to panic the locals , she had mellowed some in recent years but she was still abrasive and short with everyone , even her sisters . Aria as gruff as she was , was dependable and tough which had helped them in a few rough patches in the past .
She loved them both but their need to be near each other had proved to be troublesome when it came to maintaining any sort of long term relationship , Adagio could handle questions about her past with ease, it was easy to just lie , besides they didn’t need to know of her true past anyhow .But splitting up the sisters was more than relationship was worth , and Adagio had been in plenty in her many years on Earth.
It would always be the same it seemed , they would settle in an area, start building themselves up and one of them would go and screw things up for them. Sometimes it was Aria with her somewhat violent willful personality, sometimes it was Sonata due to some prank or antic she pulled , and sometimes it was Adagio’s own fault due to her relationship strife.
She sighed , as tough, as put together as she acted Adagio dreamed of just being able to wake up like this. Every morning and not just after some late night trist from a bar or club . Adagio was honest with herself if anything, everyone has needs and she was not exempt from her own needs. Sometimes it did bother her, as if she was just wasting love on someone who wouldn’t be able to stick around due to one of the many issues that came from being with Adagio . Sonata was pretty ok with not being in a relationship , and Aria was content to work out her frustrations through fights and punk rock music.
In the past Adagio was fine with using their siren powers to lure and control but over the last few decades it started to feel wrong? Maybe this was Starswirl’s plan all along , send the trio to a place where they learned that friendship was a magic stronger than their siren magic , they still performed and of course had to feed but they tried to keep it tamer than in the past . It seemed that there was enough background tension to keep them at least from starving, and the shows that they would do was plenty enough energy to keep them happy. Sleeping around also seemed to recharge those same needs but again to what end, they would just leave her like all the others.
Yawning bringing her back from her memories, she took in the cheap motel she was in, it was rented by Sunset and it looked like Sunset had been there for more than a few nights . There was a guitar sat up with a small amp in the corner, it looked to be a bit beat up but was in otherwise playable condition , Sunset’s leather jacket was thrown over the back of the recliner by the wood paneled television in the other corner of the room . The floor was covered in a boring brown , that’s where most of the duo’s clothing had ended up , the curtains were a tacky plaid but Adagio prefered that to the sun gold of the 70s or pastels of the 60s.
Adagio noticed Sunset stirring for a moment but soon enough she dozed back off , Adagio was not that concerned with gender when it came to mates, it was more of their personality and how they got along with her and her sisters that mattered most to her. She looked back over to the guitar and pondered for a moment if this girl would play it at their shows , but Adagio shook her head slightly, she was getting ahead of herself. First of all she needed to learn if Sunset was looking to be more than a one night stand in some cheap hotel , and secondly she would have to be able to jive with her sisters .
She thought of her sisters for a moment and considered what they would be doing right now , Sonata would likely be eating some overly sweet cereal while watching a kids cartoon , and Aria would likely be nursing her bruises from another night in the mosh pits of the punk clubs she loved so much .
Adagio focused herself on the present , she was happily spooning a cute young lady and for now , that was good enough for her . As she felt the Sunset relaxing more into the spooning, Adagio let her natural curiosity take over. She gripped the edge of the blanket that covered them and slowly rose it to peek at Sunset...She gasped in a mix of shock and confusion as she saw it. A cutie mark here on Earth ...branded into the hip of the girl she had just slept with. Another former Equestrian here? How she wondered as she let the blanket settle back down . This changed everything...she would have to play this one very carefully .
It had been a week or so since she had met Adagio but they got along and there was just something to her that the former unicorn swore felt familiar but she wasn’t quite able to place it . Being around her helped to settle her nerves and made her feel like she could stay in one place for more then a few weeks so it was a shock one day when Adagio calmly stated that Sunset needed to meet her sisters , Adagio hadn’t mentioned them up till this point and it made Sunset wonder just what she was in store for .
Sunset tried to calm her nerves before their dinner with the sisters , Adagio and her normally just either hung out at bars, clubs or a concert here or there, one time Sunset even played her guitar a bit which was nice . Adagio looked over and noticing the stressed look in her girlfriend’s face opened her fridge and pulled out an ice cold bottle of vodka and poured them each a small glass, the iced spirit pouring out thick as molasses . “Here this will settle you down before you meet my sisters , don’t worry they aren’t so bad well….most times” as they clinked their glasses . “ Aria is just into punk rock and likes to have fun in a rough manner...and Sonata just likes to get away from it all, can’t say I blame either of them “ .
Soon enough Sunset and Adagio were at the restaurant with the siren’s sisters and it actually was going well , Sunset was able to get along with both of the sisters , each of the pair matched a side of her own personality. As the night went on and Sunset had another Hurricane, she got more openly touchy with Adagio and the siren decided to broach the topic that was still fresh in her mind “ so Sunset I never got to ask , where exactly are you from? You said it was far away but ...I haven’t met anyone that gets along with me AND those two so well “
Sunset took a hard swig from the fruity drink as if her survival depended on it , maybe it did ? ..sighing she weighed her options in her mind and something just kept pushing her “well ….what do you three think about the supernatural ..” She let the question linger like smoke from one of Aria’s cigarettes.
Adagio looked at her sister’s and nodded , they had been talking over the last few months of maybe settling down again and also trying to lighten up on the darker sides of their gifts and now having the chance to have someone who would also understand them? It was too good to be true so they shared another look and nodded “ We are actually ancient seapony sirens from a millennia ago in another world ...so yeah we believe in it “
Sunset looked down at her now empty glass as the last drips of booze laced the glass and then looked up ,deciding to play along “ Well as long as we are being honest , I’m actually a talking unicorn who was the student of the princess of that same pony land “ . She had said it half jokingly in case the other 3 were just being silly or fucking with her, the fog in her brain from the cocktails made it hard to tell ….she left out a nervous laugh but then a memory of reading about the sirens made itself into her head and suddenly she looked very pale.
Adagio smiled softly glad to hear the truth even if it did take getting Sunset hammered to get it . “ Well don’t be so nervous ….We aren’t that bad now plus those stories always made it sound worse then it was, besides if you got sent here , you must of done something to warrant it “ She said as she took a bite of her cherry pie . Aria nodded intently and Sonata who decided to suddenly pay attention smiled over to encourage the former unicorn to tell her tale .
Sunset found herself wishing the waiter would come back with her refill….but no luck there so she pondered her options….here was a chance to be with someone she could be fully honest with, she was tired of going from town to town after all and this was a chance she couldn’t pass up even if a part of her mind wondered if this could really work.
“Well um I didn’t know I with the infamous sirens….but you three honestly don’t feel evil or harmful so I guess let’s try and make this work, I was a student of Celestia’s but I felt like she wasn’t telling me what I needed so I tried to get the knowledge other ways and she didn’t approve , also she didn’t like my idea to break into the palace cellar to be a good one …so we got into one little fight after the next , and having learned of Starswirl’s mirror I decided to run away to prove I could do things my way “
The other three girls listened to the story , wincing at the mention of Starswirl and his damned mirror , but they didn’t interrupt Sunset and her till she had finished it . “ Oh I see ...suppose that also makes sense as to why you ended up in this world , no one has likely used the mirror since we were banished here. Sunset I hope you decide to give us a chance besides the fact that we are all from there...you’re pretty fun too “ She smirked a bit too suggestively and Aria let out an annoyed groan , Sonata just looked at Adagio and deciding to have fun again “ a pretty little pony can we keep her pleaaasse?” Sunset giggled at bit at the sisters interaction and decided why not , they might be sirens but it wasn’t like she didn’t have her own demons and said a simple “ Yes “ and smiled , if only a bit sideways from the liquor .

Sorry for the long pause, Human Malware 2020 led me to be working 6 days a week and I couldn't come up with an idea were to go but I am back now , thanks.
