First time writing out a story dealing with RGRE.

Preparation for the Surprise

Today was going to be perfect! It was mine and my special ponies anniversary! I was so excited that I couldn’t wait and put on my best pair of socks, my mare will be so happy! Even though I always have to remind her about them.

Though I got those thoughts out of my head as I focused on more pressing matters, what should I do to surprise her? Oh! I should go an work on my mane! Prisma is always wanting me to look my best! I took a few bouncing steps over and into the bathroom to look at myself in the mirror.

Clean white coat? check! combed and braided hair? check! sexy socks? I smiled brightly to myself in the mirror and I swore I saw a crack appear.

‘’Check!’’

I bounced out of the bathroom and came to a stop in the living room, I looked around the clean interior and sighed in contentment. A cleanly house stallion is a great house stallion! Or that’s what Prisma would always say to me.

I took a framed photo of the two of us from when we visited CelestiaLand a few months ago, it was nice to have a few days out for just the two of us! It was nice to see Prisma smile for once!

I set it back down onto the table and went towards the kitchen in preparation for dinner, the kitchen was a nice and clean section of the house. I had many pictures of us together on the fridge!

The fridge was pulled open by my right wing as I took a look inside and smiled as I found the cake batter! I grasped it with a hoof and placed it on the counter beside me as I looked for the eggs.

With the eggs and cake batter found, I went to my cupboards and searched in each one before finding my light blue measuring cup and a grey metal pan. I set the tools onto the counter and went to start before I forgot something! my apron!

I quickly bounced back into the living room and up the stairs to my bedroom, I pushed past the door as I trotted over to the closet and opened it in search of HAH! I pulled out a green apron covered in last weeks baking episode.

I chuckle lightly to myself as I tie it around my barrel and use my wings to hover myself back down the stairs and into the kitchen, ready to bake!

With the beep of the oven, I flew over to my two oven mitts and placed them on both forehooves and took the pan out of the oven and into the freezer. I gently close the freezer door and place both mitts back down onto the counter and trot over to the cupboard above the ove-oh! I almost forgot to turn off the oven!

I flip the dial to ‘off’ and than reach over the oven and open the cupboards to reveal all my candied treats lying there, just waiting for me to use them!

I grab about twelve things in my hoof and hover myself back to the dinner table and let them clatter onto the table. I moved back to the fridge once more, and opened the freezer. I took and tentatively touched the surface of the cake.

‘’Warm.. but not unpleasant.. perfect!’’ I fly up and grab the pan, closing the freezer door I hovered over to the dinner table to where my supplies lay.

‘’I’m going to make the yummiest cake Prisma has ever had!’’ I felt a blush come to my face as I imagined Prisma eating the whole cake.

I lay the pan on the table and gently remove the cake from inside the pan and set it on a plate I had set up before hoof and placed it on there. The cake was cooked to perfection! all it needed now was some decoration and flavor!

The first thing I grabbed was of course the frosting! it was my own special frosting I created when I first gained my cutie mark! I with a ear to ear grin, let the soft sugary frosting make its way on top of the cake and later, the whole cake was covered in a rainbow!

I licked off the smudges of rainbow frosting from my hoof as I set the frosting back down and grabbed the next thing, sprinkles! I shook the container all over the frosted cake and used a spoon to smooth out the frosting, all the while mixing in the sprinkles!

I set the sprinkles down and looked at my other cake toppings before smiling widely.

The finished product consisted of, a rainbow frosted cake with white sprinkles mixed into it, along with the mix of twelve other goodies! I put two hooves to my face as I got an idea, I quickly zoomed up to the bedroom and grabbed my trusty camera! I zoomed back down the stairs and took a few snapshots of the cake.

I gasped as another idea came to my head, I took the last of the tube of frosting and carefully spelled out the words ‘H A P P Y A N N I V E R S A R Y ! P R I S M A’ and I finished it off with ‘2 Y E A R S A N D M O R E T O C O M E !’ .

I hovered a bit into the air and backed up to look at the cake and quickly took a few more snapshots of it. I set the camera onto the table and wiped my muzzle a few times to get out the piece of rainbow frosting stuck to it.

‘’Yummy’’ I giggled to myself as I grabbed my baking supplies and returned them back to their places. I unwrapped the apron and laid it on my two front hooves as I flew up the stairs and laid it on our bed, so I could remember to wash it later today.

I flew back down the stairs and looked at the living room with a smile.

‘’Perfect’’.

I took a seat at the dinner table with a eager grin on my face.

Now.. I wait for my dear Prisma to return from work!
