Chapters On earth were the stars coming, holding a black Alicorn in blue armor. The stars drove the alicorn slowly to earth. When Nightmare Moon arrived on earth, she looked back at the moon. Would Nightmare Rarity follow her? She wanted to wait. But she feared that Celestia would appear. She needed to get to Canterlot, if she was there in Canterlot. She had to hope Celestia was still in Canterlot. She saw a tall unicorn standing in the sky, it was floating. When the unicorn got very close, Nightmare Moon recognized that it was Nightmare Rarity. Nightmare Moon was surprised that Nightmare Rarity decided to follow her. The queen of the night knew Nightmare Rarity would help, but she didn’t expect Nightmare Rarity to rise from the moon upon the forces of Nightmares. When Nightmare Rarity came very close to the ground but not to the ground yet, she jumped to the ground, “I’m here, darling. And now? What we do?”
“We need to find my sister Celestia”, replied Nightmare Moon.
“Where do you think she might be, darling?” asked Nightmare Rarity.
“I have two guesses: She must be in Ponyville City Hall or Canterlot Castle”, replied Nightmare Moon.
“Why don’t we split up?” asked Nightmare Rarity.
Nightmare Moon didn’t listen right. She looked at Nightmare Rarity, “what?”
“Why don’t we split up?” Nightmare Rarity repeated the question. “Whoever finds her, teleports the other to where Celestia is”
Nightmare Moon smiled, “It’s a good idea. But won’t Celestia hear us?”
Nightmare Rarity hadn’t thought of that, but tried to come up with a solution, “I’m sure she won’t hear us. City hall usually have plenty of ponies. And I doubt Celestia is around us to hear the sound of teleportation”
Nightmare Moon decided to trust Nightmare Rarity’s words, “ok. I trust you,” But Nightmare Moon felt insecure,“ but what if the ponies see you?”
“Don’t worry. I have the power to change to my non-Nightmare form. No one will suspect I’m a Nightmare pony”, said Nightmare Rarity, before blinking.
Nightmare Moon didn’t know why, but the wink that Nightmare Rarity gave made her blush. Nightmare Rarity was glad it worked.
“Well, before I go, I’ll take my non-Nightmare form”, said Nightmare Rarity, before using her magic and diminishing form to a white unicorn with purple mane and a three-diamond Cutie Mark.
Nightmare Moon couldn’t help but notice that Nightmare Rarity was beautiful as a normal mare. What Nightmare Moon didn’t know was that she was blushing.
“Well, darling. With me in this form, you can call me Rarity. Well, I’m going. If I see Celestia, I’ll teleport you”, said Rarity before heading out to City Hall.
Nightmare Moon watched Rarity leave. Nightmare Moon watched until she was out of sight, when she was no longer seeing the mare, Nightmare Moon flew to Canterlot Castle.
Celestia was at Canterlot Castle on the balcony. She realized that Nightmare Moon escaped from the moon. She let out a breath. The princess didn’t want to have to fight Nightmare Moon, aka her sister Luna. Suddenly she saw royal guards running to her, “princess! Nightmare Moon is in the castle!”
Celestia was surprised. She didn’t know if Nightmare Moon came to destroy her or if Nightmare Moon wanted to make up with her. She was hoping it was the second option. Celestia decided to wait for Nightmare Moon in the throne room, “thanks for letting me know. You can return to your posts”
The guards seemed insecure. Shouldn’t they protect Celestia from Nightmare Moon? “Princess, don’t you want us to protect you from Nightmare Moon?”
“No. I can solve this on my own”, replied Celestia.
The guards decided to accept this and left the throne room.
Nightmare Moon heard footsteps and flew up from the ceiling. Lucky the guards didn’t see her . As they rounded the corner, Nightmare Moon returned to the floor before looking at the throne room door that was leaning against it.
Celestia was still on the throne, waiting for Nightmare Moon. The door opened. Celestia watched and saw Nightmare Moon’s head. Nightmare Moon realized that Celestia was there, she stuck her head out. Celestia was confused, “Luna?” Celestia rose from the throne.
Nightmare Moon ran far away. When Nightmare Moon thought she was far away, she used a teleportation spell to teleport Rarity to the castle. Suddenly, Rarity appeared beside her, “Did you find her?” asked Rarity.
“Yes. She is in the throne room. But I’m afraid that she saw me”, replied Nightmare Moon.
“Well, at least it’s good. Because the Summer Sun Celebration hasn’t even started yet. All the ponies are talking to each other. But I just hope no pony found it strange that I was teleported out of nowhere”, said Rarity.
Nightmare Moon was confused, “What is the Summer Sun Celebration?”
“That’s when the longest day occurs”, replied Rarity.
Nightmare Moon felt angry with Celestia. Her ears were down. So besides her being banished to the moon, Celestia make a holiday in honor of her day? Celestia deserved the worst of the worst of punishments.
“Darling, is everything okay?” asked Rarity, now with a hoof on Nightmare Moon’s chest.
Nightmare Moon looked at Rarity, “yes, Rarity. It’s just that this celebration Celestia made in honor of your day made me angry”
“You’re not mad at me, are you?” asked Rarity, a little concerned with her ears down.
“What? Of course not, Rarity”, replied Nightmare Moon with a smile.
“Luna? Luna? Are you here?”
Nightmare Moon and Rarity’s ears brightened. Nightmare Moon looked back angrily.
Damn it. Why did you leave the throne room? I planned to attack you there.
Nightmare Moon looked back at Rarity, “Rarity. I fear we will have to change the plans. You hide until I signal you to appear”
“But where do I hide?” asked Rarity.
“Do you know an invisibility spell?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“Yes, darling”, replied Rarity.
“Then use it”, said Nightmare Moon.
“One question, dear. What sign are you going to give me?” wanted to know Rarity.
“I’ll give you a wink,” said Nightmare Moon, before blinking. “The wink I give now will be the wink I will give”
“OK. I understood. But when should I take my Nightmare form?” wanted to know Rarity.
“Well, Celestia probably knows you, so she’ll be surprised to see a pony with me. Then you will explain to her that you are by my side. She’ll probably deny it, so you say your name, but not your real name, you speak my initial name to yours”, replied Nightmare Moon.
Rarity understood everything she had to do. Suddenly they saw Celestia walking in the same direction they were, but Celestia wasn’t seeing, she was looking sideways. Rarity, seeing this, used his invisibility spell. Nightmare Moon, seeing this, nodded before turning back to Celestia and waiting for her.
Celestia was looking sideways until she looked forward and saw Nightmare Moon, she approached Nightmare Moon, “Luna!” she was running to Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Moon braced herself to attack, “Don’t come any closer, sister!” she spat the last word.
Celestia stopped walking. She was a little far from Nightmare Moon, but not so far, but not too close either. She decided to talk, “Luna, have you returned to make up?” asked Celestia hoping that Nightmare Moon would say “yes.” But unfortunately…
Nightmare Moon laughed, “Really? Make up? You’re kidding, right?”
“Please, Luna. I don’t want to fight you”, Celestia begged through tears.
“I’m sorry, Celestia. But I won’t show mercy!” exclaimed Nightmare Moon, before casting a spell on Celestia. Celestia was hit in the belly and was thrown to a wall.
Celestia opened her eyes and saw Nightmare Moon slowly approaching while casting a spell, “please, Luna. Don’t do it!” Celestia begged, she didn’t want to have to fight her own Sister.
But Nightmare Moon didn’t listen and cast her magic on Celestia. Celestia, sadly, also cast magic. The two spells were fighting to gain control. To Nightmare Moon’s happiness and Celestia’s sadness, Nightmare Moon was winning. Nightmare Moon had an idea. To humiliate Celestia, she turned left and winked. Celestia found it strange. Why did Nightmare Moon blink to nothing?
Suddenly a white unicorn with purple mane and three-diamond Cutie Mark appeared. Nightmare Moon smiled. Celestia recognized the unicorn, “Rarity! What are you doing there? From on did you come from?”
“I’ve been invisible, princess”, Rarity spat the last word.
Celestia was surprised that Rarity spoke to her this way. But she was more surprised that Rarity was next to Nightmare Moon, “Rarity, get out of there! Get away! Nightmare Moon is there!”
“No”, denied Rarity.
“What? But why, Rarity?” asked Celestia, now confused. Celestia feared that although Nightmare Moon was Luna, her sister would hurt her subjects.
“Because I’m by her side”, replied Rarity.
Celestia was surprised by this, “but why Rarity? She plans to bring eternal night”
“She plans to do that because you were always appreciated and your day too, Princess”, said Rarity.
Celestia couldn’t believe that a subject of hers was against her. Why? Why did this happen?
“Why, Rarity? Why are you doing this?” wanted to know Celestia.
“Why? Why? Why?!” Rarity exclaimed the last sentence as she had tears in her eyes. “My friends replaced me with a mare wearing a sweatshirt with a brace on her teeth! And to top it off, they don’t want to know about me anymore! Do you have any idea what it means to be replaced?!” after saying that, Rarity broke down emotionally.
Nightmare Moon, realizing this, lifted Rarity’s head and wiped her tears as she smiled gently. Celestia was surprised. She never saw Nightmare Moon being kind to one of her subjects, “Luna…”
Nightmare Moon stopped smiling and glowered at Celestia, “what do you want?”
“You’re comforting one of your subjects”, was not a question but a statement.
Nightmare Moon approached, “Of course I’m comforting somepony. She is my friend. Why? Do you think that i would hurt my subjects?”
Celestia wasn’t sure about that, “I’ll take that as a yes”, concluded Nightmare Moon.
“I dont understand. Why do you see Rarity as your friend?” wanted to know Celestia.
“Because”, Nightmare Moon looked at Rarity. Rarity realized that Nightmare Moon wanted her to change. Rarity used her magic to transform herself. Her fur turned black, her purple mane grew large, and a part of her mane and tail went white, a necklace and a jewel appeared. Now who was in place was Nightmare Rarity.
Celestia was surprised. Was there another Nightmare Pony? But she always thought that Luna was the only one who could become a Nightmare.
“Surprised right, darling?” asked Nightmare Rarity with a mischievous smile.
Celestia just nodded in response.
“Would you like me to tell you the story of how I became what I am today?” asked Nightmare Rarity. Nightmare Moon looked uncertain. She didn’t have all this time.
“Yes, Rarity”, replied Celestia.
“Call me Nightmare Rarity!!” exclaimed Nightmare Rarity, now annoyed. Celestia got scared.
Flashback: The Fall of Rarity
Rarity, Ponyville’s fashion designer and seamstress, she had four friends. Their names were Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Each of her friends had their jobs. Applejack was the Sweet Apple Acres farmer, Rainbow Dash was responsible for the weather, her dream was to become a Wonderbolt, Pinkie Pie was the Ponyville confectioner of Sugarcube Corner, and Fluttershy was the Ponyville veterinarian. Rarity always tried to please her friends, she tried to aggravate her friends with the dresses that she made. And to her delight, she always made her friends happy. It also made her happy, because she was helping. She always liked to feel useful. Rarity had just shopped for her new dress. She planned to go to Boutique Carrousel to make the dresses for the Galloping Grand Gala. Yes. They were invited by Princess Celestia. Each one already had its invitation. Rarity planned to make the dresses today. Although the gala isn’t today or tomorrow, Rarity wanted to get the dresses ready. She wanted to help her friends.
“Rarity!” exclaimed Applejack at a diner with her other friends.
Rarity heard Applejack’s voice and went over to where her friends were, “hello, darlings. What's the novelty?”
Who talked now was Pinkie Pie, “I made new types of Cupcakes at Sugarcube Corner. Who wants to go taste it? ”
“Pinkie, we’re already in a diner. We can’t eat multiple things at once”, said Applejack.
Pinkie Pie was sad, but soon cheered up, “ok! Lucky I brought the Cupcakes with me”, said Pinkie Pie, before taking a plate of Cupcakes. The others didn’t know how Pinkie Pie did it. But they thought it best not to question. Because the things Pinkie Pie didn’t made no sense.
Pinkie Pie looked at the hot pink Cupcake, which was probably strawberry flavored, before eating it whole. Rarity and the others didn’t understand how Cupcake didn’t get stuck in Pinkie Pie’s throat or how the pony didn’t choke on Cupcake, but they decided not to question.
Rarity realized that her friends didn’t answer her question, “So, darlings? What's the novelty?”
Applejack looked at Rarity, “everything looks the same to me. I wake up, feed the animals and pick apples”
“An animal was injured near my house. I had to take him to my house to take care of him”, replied Fluttershy, now almost hidden under the table, but her head was still being seen.
“I had no novelty. The only novelty is that I’m getting more and more awesome every day”, replied Rainbow Dash with a proud smile.
“You don’t have to show yourself either, do you?” said Applejack, in an unhappy way.
Rainbow Dash glared at Applejack, “hey! You don’t have to play it in the face!”
“Sorry, sugarcube. But I’m just being honest”, said Applejack, now with her eyes closed.
“Girls! Stop fighting, please! Let Rarity speak now. She hasn’t told us yet if she has anything new”, said Fluttershy, breaking up the fight.
Rainbow Dash and Applejack stopped fighting. Applejack tried not to feel guilty because she was just being honest and Rainbow Dash was fighting not to feel sorry.
“So, Rarity? Do you have any novelty?” asked Fluttershy with a gentle smile.
Rarity was sad, “unfortunately not, dear ...”
Rarity’s friends were sad. They liked novelty, “... But I will make the dresses for the Great Galloping Gala that will take place next month!” exclaimed Rarity cheerfully.
Rarity’s friends were happy. Well, except Applejack who felt a little annoyed, “Rarity, this is novelty”
“That’s right, darling”, agreed Rarity with a smile.
“... You lied”, Applejack finished in an unhappy way. The others were surprised.
“What? No. It was not my intention to lie to all of you, I intended to surprise you all with this”, Rarity tried to explain, now desperate.
“Sorry, Rarity. But I can’t be friends with somepony who lies”, said that, Applejack left the diner. They watched Applejack leave the diner. Rarity’s friends looked back at Rarity, who was sad. She didn’t mean to lie, but to surprise. Why did Applejack take this honesty thing so seriously? Rarity even understands why, but she doesn’t understand why Applejack no longer wants to be her friend just because she intended to surprise her friends.
Fluttershy went to Rarity, who was fighting not to cry, “It’s okay, Rarity. We won’t stop being your friends just because you wanted to surprise us”
Rarity looked uncertain, “really, dear?” had a tear in her eye.
“Yes, Rarity”, Fluttershy wiped the tear from Rarity’s eye with a hoof. Rarity smiled at that. One of the reasons she liked Fluttershy was because Pegasus was always kind and understanding to others.
“How do you want your gala dresses?” wanted to know Rarity, now with a notepad and a quill.
“I want mine to have flowers, butterflies and to be green,” replied Fluttershy. “If that’s okay with you”
“No problem, darling”, said Rarity with a smile at Fluttershy, before looking at the others.
“I want mine to be pink and have candy!” exclaimed Pinkie Pie excitedly. Rarity didn’t know where she was going to get candy, but she was going to try to improvise.
“I want mine to be twenty percent cool”, said Rainbow Dash proudly. Rarity didn’t know how she would make a dress for Rainbow Dash, but she would try to make Rainbow’s dress the way Rainbow likes it.
“All that’s left is Applejack”, said Rarity.
Rainbow Dash approached Rarity, “Are you sure you want to make a dress for Applejack? She doesn’t even consider you your friend anymore”
“Darling, she has an invitation too. And I won’t stop thinking about my friends”, replied Rarity.
Rainbow Dash didn’t understand why Rarity still considered Applejack her friend, after what Applejack did to her, but she didn’t mean to question.
After leaving the diner, Rarity and the others went to their homes. Rarity intended to talk to Applejack. Although she was saddened by what Applejack said, she intended to make the dresses. When she arrived at Sweet Apple Acres, she knocked on the barn door. Applejack answered. But her smile fell when she saw Rarity and she closed the door in Rarity’s face. Rarity was surprised by that, “darling, please. Talk to me. I need to know what kind of dress you want for the gala”
Applejack replied inside the barn, “Forget me, Rarity. I’m not going to this gala anymore!”
Rarity was surprised, “but why not, dear? You even told me you were going to the prom to sell your apple food to the ponies”
“Yes, I said that. But I don’t want to go with you around”, said Applejack.
Rarity couldn’t believe Applejack was ignoring her, “so you won’t even go to the gala, darling?”
“No!” Applejack opened the barn door to say that before closing the door in her face. Rarity, teary-eyed, ran back home.
Arriving home, Rarity brought her back couch and lay down to cry. She didn’t know what to do to stop crying, “Of all the worst things that could happen, this is the worst possible thing!”
By the next day, Rarity’s friends wanted to see if the dresses were ready. And to their surprise, the dresses were not ready, because Rarity kept crying. She was eating a jar of ice cream while crying. Rainbow Dash went over to Rarity, “Are you seriously crying over what Applejack said to you?” asked Rainbow Dash, now annoyed.
Rarity looked at Rainbow Dash, “I’m sorry, darling. But what Applejack said hurt me”
Rainbow Dash looked still annoyed before shouting, “But how are we going to the gala without dresses?!”
“Calm down, Rainbow. She’s going through a rough time”, said Fluttershy.
Rainbow Dash looked at Fluttershy, “But with her being a drama queen, how are we going to the gala, Fluttershy?”
Fluttershy was speechless. She didn’t know what to say. Rainbow Dash sighed, “ok. Whatever it is, I don’t care anymore. Bye, Rarity”, said Rainbow Dash, before flying off to a window.
Rarity cried even more. Has Rainbow Dash stopped being your friend? If so, would the others stop being friends?
Fluttershy went to Rarity, “Don’t worry, Rarity. We won’t stop being your friends”, Fluttershy comforted.
Rarity tried to stop crying.
When the next day came, Rarity intended to make the dresses. After making the dresses, she intended to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Spa. She grabbed a paper and pen to start drawing what the dresses would look like. When she finished drawing, Rarity looked at the drawing that had a mare in a long butterfly dress next to her ear. She looked at the other drawing that was a cowboy drawing, Rarity didn’t know if she should throw it away because Applejack was no longer her friend, but she intended to do just in case Applejack changed her mind. Rarity looked at the last three designs: One was a design with a dress with a crown, another was a design of a dress with a design of candy, cakes, and balloons, and the last design was a rainbow design. She didn’t mean to do it in the order she drew, Rarity meant to leave her dress last because the unicorn always thought of her friends first.
After she finished making the dresses, she called all her friends. She just didn’t call Rainbow Dash and Applejack because they both denied going to Boutique Carrousel. So Rarity already saved the two dresses. Rarity heard the knock on the door. She went downstairs and opened the door. She was happy to see her friends, “dear ones! I’m glad you came! Your dresses are ready”, Rarity tried to ignore the fact that Applejack and Rainbow were not here. The only remaining ones that were her friends were Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. She was going to do everything now to not lose her friends. Because if she lost, Rarity didn’t know what to do.
“It’s bad to know that two mares are no longer your friends just because they don’t understand you”, said Fluttershy, now sad.
“Yeah, Fluttershy,” agreed Pinkie Pie, before cheering up. “Hey! Hey! I have an idea! Let’s have a party after you show us the dresses!”
Rarity smiled, “It’s a good idea, Pinkie. But I plan to go to the Spa this afternoon”
Pinkie Pie looked sad about that, but soon cheered up, “okie dokie lookie”
“Come on, dear ones. I’ll show you both dresses”, said Rarity, before entering Boutique Carrousel.
When they went up to Rarity’s room. Rarity asked them to go to the bedroom with their eyes closed. Both did what Rarity asked. Arriving in the room, Rarity allowed them to open their eyes, “look, darlings”
Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie opened their eyes with a smile. They were surprised to see the dresses. Fluttershy’s dress was light green and had dark green butterfly designs, on the mannequin’s ear was a butterfly. In Pinkie Pie’s dress, it was pink and had designs of cakes, candies and balloons, “Did you like it, darlings?” asked Rarity with a hopeful smile.
“We don’t like it,” said Pinkie Pie. Rarity was surprised and sad at the same time, “… we love it!” Finished Pinkie Pie with a smile.
Rarity was happy, “Did you really like it, dears?”
“Of course, Rarity. You really know us”, replied Fluttershy with a smile. Rarity was happy with that. For a moment, she thought her friends wouldn’t like it. It would be unfair if they didn’t like it, because she did it especially for them.
It’s been a few days, and Pinkie and Fluttershy have continued to be friends with Rarity. While Applejack and Rainbow Dash, they didn’t leave their homes, but they did their jobs. The two mares wouldn’t go out to see Pinkie Fluttershy until Rarity was gone from their lives. Yeah. They were still bad with Rarity, and they didn’t mean to talk to Rarity.
Rarity was having tea with Fluttershy to talk about Applejack and Rainbow Dash, “Do you think they’ll forgive me, Fluttershy?” wanted to know Rarity.
“I’m sure Rarity. They just need some time to themselves”, replied Fluttershy with a smile before sipping some of the tea in her cup.
Rarity still seemed uncertain about that. She feared the two mares wouldn’t forgive her. Would they never forgive her? Because she was thinking so.
“Fluttershy darling, I plan on going to the Spa after finishing your tea. Want to go with me?” invited Rarity.
Fluttershy smiled, “of course Rarity”
After they had finished their tea, Rarity and Fluttershy were heading toward Justa until they saw a skin-colored ground mare in a sweatshirt and braces, the mare had a pink backpack. She was exhausted because she was so heavy. Rarity and Fluttershy looked at each other before going to help her, “need help?”
The mare was sweating tiredly and fell to the ground, “Yes. Please. It’s too heavy”, Rarity picked up the mare’s backpack with her magic and to her surprise it was really heavy, she didn’t know where the mare would live. .
“Where are you going to live?” asked Rarity.
“I’ll see with the mayor. Do you two know where she or he is?” said the mare.
“Sure. Ah. I’m sorry we didn’t introduce ourselves. My name is Fluttershy and my friend is Rarity. And yours?” said Fluttershy.
“My name is Mabel”, said Mabel before laughing.
“I think you would get along with Pinkie Pie”, said Fluttershy with a smile.
Mabel was confused, “who is Pinkie Pie?”
“She’s Ponyville’s most cheesy mare. She plan the best paties”, replied Fluttershy.
“I want to meet her. But first, could you show me where City Hall is?” said Mabel.
“Sure. Follow me”, replied Fluttershy before starting to walk. What they didn’t realize was that Rarity was already tired of holding Mabel’s backpack.
When they arrived at City Hall, Fluttershy went to talk to Mayor Mare. The mayor said Mabel could live in the Golden Oka’s Tree Library. Mabel wasn’t a library fan, but she liked having a home now. Rarity couldn’t take it anymore and fell to the floor tired, she was sweating.
Fluttershy and Mabel walked again without noticing that Rarity was tired. Rarity couldn’t take it anymore. She couldn’t wait to go to the spa to relax. At least Fluttershy would go with her.
Arriving at Golden Oka’s Tree Library, Fluttershy opened the door for Mabel to enter. Rarity came in, she was already tired. She couldn’t take it anymore. Mabel came in and marveled, “I’m not a fan of books, but this place is beautiful!” Mabel noticed that there was a staircase that led to the bedroom. She looked at Rarity, “Rarity, could you take my backpack to the bedroom?” Rarity just smiled, though inside she couldn’t take it anymore.
After Rarity had put her backpack in her room, Rarity intended to go to the Spa to relax. But as long as she held that backpack, it made her dizzy, her pressure dropped and she passed out.
When Rarity woke up, she realized she was in her room. She wondered who brought her here. Did it was Fluttershy?
“Finally you woke up”
Rarity recognized the voice. She glanced left and saw Rainbow Dash, “Rainbow…” Rarity was about to say thanks, but Rainbow interrupted her.
“... Why did you have to faint right where I was going?!” exclaimed Rainbow Dash. “Is this a trick of yours to me forgive you?!”
Rarity was sad, “no, darling”, she was going to explain why she passed out, but Rainbow cut her off.
“Whether or not I don’t care anymore. Fluttershy introduced me to a mare today and I plan to be the most amazing friend she’s ever had”
Rarity could feel the tears in her eyes. But what Rainbow Dash would say next would shock her, “... Because I don’t need a friend like you”, having said that, Rainbow Dash flew out the window.
Rarity began to cry again. Why were her friends being like this to her? It made no sense.
Over the days, Rarity’s friends began spending more time with Mabel. Mabel had a knack for sewing sweatshirts and making sculptures. Rarity felt excluded. Why were all her friends doing this? Why did your friends prefer Mabel over her? It wasn’t fair. Rarity began to think that even Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy would no longer be her friends. If so, what would she do?
And what Rarity thought came true. Pinkie Pie and Mabel spent a lot of time together because they were so similar, and Fluttershy always invited Mabel for tea. Although Mabel is not a tea fan, she enjoyed spending time with the animals. Especially with the pigs. And the others? Well, Rainbow Dash and Applejack left their homes to go out with Mabel, but whenever they saw Rarity, they ignored it. In short, none of her friends were with her. It was as if they saw Mabel as the new Rarity. Was Rarity being replaced? It couldn’t be. What more was to happen?
Suddenly the unicorn heard a knocking sound. Rarity opened the door and saw that it was Fluttershy with a picnic basket in her mouth, “Hi, darling”, said Rarity sadly.
Fluttershy didn’t seem to care because she was so excited, “hi, Rarity. Me and my friends are going on picnic”
“Can I go along?” asked Rarity, now with a smile
“I’m sorry. But Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie said they prefer Mabel to come with us”, replied Fluttershy.
“And you?” asked Rarity.
“I’m sorry. But I think you better stay home”, replied Fluttershy.
“But you all still see me as friends, right? You won’t replace me with Mabel, will you?” wanted to know Rarity.
“Oh. Of course not. Well, I better get going. Bye”
“Bye, darling”, Rarity closed the door. She really hoped that from tomorrow things would change.
Oh. How wrong she was. Rarity’s friends started spending a lot of time with Mabel. It even looked like they forgot about her. It was already night and Rarity was crying in her bed. She couldn’t believe she was forgotten. What would become of her now?
Suddenly a black shadow came through the window and grabbed Rarity slowly. As the unicorn was crying, she didn’t even realize she was being taken to the moon.
Rarity kept crying. But what she didn’t know was that she was being called.
“Rarity”
“Rarity”
But Rarity didn’t listen. The thing got angry.
“Rarity!!”
Rarity was startled by the scream, stopped crying, and looked startled. Where she was?
“W-where am I?” asked Rarity.
“You are in your future castle and where you are sitting is on your future throne, my future queen”, the thing answered with a smile.
Rarity didn’t know what it was, “who are you? What you are?”
“I am Shadowfright and I and the others are the nightmare forces”, introduced Shadowfright.
“I don’t understand, dear. Why am I here? What do you intend to do to me?” wanted to know Rarity.
“Simple. We brought you here because we realized how sad you were that your friends abandoned you and how beautiful you are. You would make a great queen”, replied Shadowfright.
“Yes. And we need a beautiful queen. Isn’t it, Larry?” said Jerone with a smile.
Shadowfright grabbed Jerone’s neck. He obviously didn’t like being called by his real name, “I mean, isn’t it, Shadowfright?”
Shadowfright approached Rarity, “Your generosity will save us. You should join us. You would be making a difference to us and you won’t need your friends”
Rarity didn’t know if she should accept, “no. My friends will save me”, denied Rarity.
“Really? Now that they have a friend who is much better for you than you?” asked Shadowfright. “Do you really think they know you’re here?”
Rarity began to remember the moments she was set aside. And for all the fault of that mare that arrived in Ponyville a month ago. She was sad about that. Although Rainbow Dash and Applejack didn’t really want to be friends with her anymore, while Pinkie and Fluttershy just walked away from her. She looked back at Shadowfright waiting for the answer, “so, my future queen? Do you accept?”
Rarity thought for a moment before making his decision, “yes. I accept”
A black shadow went to Rarity’s horn and clutched before entering the horn. Her eyes flashed blue and became slits. When the shadow completely entered the horn, Rarity’s mane grew longer, part of the mane turned white, her hair turned black, and her height increased. Now who was on the throne was no longer Rarity, but Nightmare Rarity. The nightmare forces bowed to the new queen.
“... And that’s how I became what I am today”, finished Nightmare Rarity. Nightmare Moon was lying on the floor with a face of boredom because Nightmare Rarity had already told her that when they were on the moon.
Celestia was speechless. The only thing she could describe the story was like a tragedy because Rarity lost her friends, “Rarity, I’m so sorry for what you went through”, said Celestia.
Nightmare Rarity caught Celestia with her magic, “Don’t call me by this name!!” she exclaimed angrily, about to destroy Celestia.
Nightmare Moon noticing this, got up and went to Nightmare Rarity, “calm down, Nightmare Rarity. I deal with her”
Nightmare Rarity looked at Nightmare Moon, “Can’t I destroy her?”
“It’s just that as I suffered in their hooves, I think it’s only fair to destroy her”, explained Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Rarity started to think. That was a good point. She closed her eyes before releasing Celestia and going back. That done, she opened her eyes and watched Nightmare Moon approach Celestia, who took Celestia’s chin to say, “Celestia, I hope you’re ready to see the last day with your sun”
Celestia was crying, “please, Luna. Don’t do it. I do anything you ask me!” she begged.
Nightmare Moon raised an eyebrow, “Anything?”
“Yes. Anything!” answered Celestia through tears.
“Then you will be banished to the moon as a punishment for imprisoning me for a thousand years!” exclaimed Nightmare Moon before casting a spell that would cause Celestia to be imprisoned on the moon.
Nightmare Moon saw that on the moon now had the silhouette of a mare on the moon. Nightmare Moon started walking, “come on, Rarity. We need to go to Ponyville”
“Darling, I have a doubt”, Nightmare Rarity followed Nightmare Moon as she spoke.
Nightmare Moon looked at Nightmare Rarity, “What’s your question?”
“Should I go to the city hall in disguise? Like, I can’t turn into a mist like you”, said Nightmare Rarity.
“You can disguise yourself as that beautiful mare I’ve seen before”, replied Nightmare Moon with a seductive smile.
Nightmare Rarity blushed, “What did you say, darling?”
Nightmare Moon touched what she said and blushed, “n-nothing. Let’s go. Then we meet at Two Sisters Castle”
Twilight Sparkle was talking to the mares she met. Applejack was in charge of the food, Rainbow Dash of the mood, Mabel of the decor, and Fluttershy of the song. Everything was great. Only the decoration that looked childish from having balloons, and it wasn’t Pinkie Pie balloons, it was the balloons Mabel brought in her backpack. Twilight really hoped the princess wouldn’t mind having balloons. She wished Mabel had listened to her, but Mabel didn’t even listen. Now Twilight Sparkle had to pray that everything would work out.

Who did she want to fool? It wasn’t great. Twilight read about the return of Nightmare Moon, she sent a letter to her mentor. But the princess ignored her warning and said it was a pony tale and she should check the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. And she did as her mentor asked. But she feared that Nightmare Moon would return. She decided to look and still saw the silhouette of a mare on the moon. Twilight Sparkle blew out a breath. Nightmare Moon hasn’t been released from her prison. But what Twilight didn’t know was that the mare’s silhouette wasn’t from Nightmare Moon, but from Princess Celestia. Because the stars were no longer approaching the moon, but Twilight didn’t even notice. Twilight Sparkle heard footsteps and saw a white unicorn mare with purple mane and three diamond Cutie Mark. Twilight Sparkle smiled, “Hi. Are you new to the celebration? My name is Twilight Sparkle, and yours?” in Spike’s eyes, there were hearts.
Rarity smiled, “Hi, Twilight Sparkle. My name is Rarity”
Twilight Sparkle’s friends were surprised to see Rarity. Rarity hasn’t appeared in years. Who spoke first was Applejack, “Rarity, where the hell have you been all these years?” asked Applejack in a concerned tone.
Rarity grinned at Applejack, though inside she was angry at the cowmare, “oh. I just went for a long walk throughout Equestria”
Applejack decided to believe what Rarity said. Pinkie Pie was jumping up to Rarity, “Rarity! Where have you been? Hey! Now that you’re back from wherever, let’s have a welcome party!”
They heard the choir of birds began to sing. When it stopped, a spotlight went to Mayor Mare, “fillies and gentlecolts. It is with great pleasure that I present the Summer Sun Celebration,” the Ponies applauded. “And that is how I present the good and unique, the one who brings us the day and the sun, the benevolent Princess Celestia!” Mabel opened the curtain with her mouth before looking back and not seeing the princess. She was confused.
Twilight Sparkle was worried, “this can’t be good”, she was nothing more than worried. Where was Celestia? Nightmare Moon couldn’t have escaped from the prison. The silhouette of the Moon Mare was still on the moon.
The ponies began talking to each other to discuss what might have happened to Celestia. Mayor Mare tried to calm everypony down. Twilight Sparkle was tweaking her hooves nervously. Pinkie Pie started jumping with joy, “Oh. Oh. I love games. Is she hiding?” Pinkie Pie started looking for Celestia.
Mabel stepped inside the balcony Celestia was supposed to appear, but didn’t find her, “she’s gone”, the audience ponies let out a sigh.
“Oh. She’s good”, said Pinkie Pie, admiring Celestia’s skills in Hide and Seek. Pinkie Pie screamed as she saw a blue haze heading to the balcony.
Twilight Sparkle acknowledged, “oh no”
The mist expanded, and out of it came a black-haired alicorn mare with light blue armor and dragon slits.
“... Nightmare Moon”, Twilight Sparkle finished silently so the mare wouldn’t hear her. Spike passed out on seeing Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Moon smiled, “Oh. My lovely subjects. I haven’t seen your lovely little faces for so long”
Rainbow Dash was angry, “What did you do to our princess?!” Rainbow Dash intended to fly to Nightmare Moon to attack her, but Applejack stopped her.
“Calm down”, said Applejack as she held Rainbow Dash’s tail.
Nightmare Moon laughed, “Why? Am I not real enough for you? Don’t you know who I am?”
Pinkie Pie brightened, “Oh. Oh. More guessing games. Witch of darkness. How about evil queen? No dark princess…” Applejack popped a Cupcake in Pinkie Pie’s mouth to stop her talking.
Nightmare Moon approached Fluttershy, “Doesn’t my crown count anymore? Since I was trapped for a thousand years?” Fluttershy cringed in fear.
Nightmare Moon went to Mabel and touched her chin, “Don’t you remember the legend? Didn’t you see the signs?” Nightmare Moon realized that this mare wore a sweatshirt and braces on her teeth, was that the mare Rarity told her about? Could only be.
“I saw it!” Nightmare Moon looked at the voice’s owner and saw a lavender unicorn with dark blue horsehair with pink and purple stripes and a cutie mark of a pink star surrounded by five white stars. “And I know who you are. You’re the Mare on the Moon, Nightmare Moon!”
The other ponies sighed in surprise. Nightmare Moon smiled, “Well, well. Somepony remembers me. Then you must know why I’m here”
“You’re here to… to…” Twilight Sparkle swallowed hard.
Nightmare Moon laughed, “Remember this day, ponies. It was the last one. Starting today, the night… will last… forever!” she started to laugh. Her mane turned and swirled and lightning appeared. Everypony was startled by this statement, especially Twilight Sparkle. The only one not afraid was Rarity. And luckily for her, everypony was too scared to notice if she had a pony smiling at that statement.
“Arrest her! She knows where the princess is!” said Mayor Mare.
Three royal guards went to Nightmare Moon, “walk away, you foals”, her eyes flashed white before she laughed and thundered at the three guards and turned into mist.
Rarity took the opportunity to follow Nightmare Moon. The ponies began to run everywhere in the town hall.
Rainbow Dash was struggling to get out and Applejack was trying not to let go. But Rainbow Dash managed to leave and went after Nightmare Moon, “come back here!” but it was no use because Nightmare Moon was already far away.
Rainbow Dash started thinking about what Nightmare Moon said, “Night… Eternal?” she looked down and saw Twilight Sparkle running out of the city with Spike in the back. “Where she goes?”
At Golden Oka’s Tree Library, Spike was struggling not to fall asleep, “we have to stop Nightmare…” but it was no use and he fell asleep.
Twilight Sparkle covered Spike around the neck, “You’ve been up all night, Spike. After all, you are a baby dragon”
Twilight turned off the light in Spike’s sleeping room, down the steps to the ground floor, and began looking for a book that talked about the Elements of Harmony, “Elements. Elements Urg! How will I stop Nightmare Moon without the Elements of Harmony?”
Rainbow Dash came out of nowhere and went to Twilight Sparkle, “and how did you know about the return of Nightmare Moon? And what are these Elements of Harmony? Are you a spy?!” Rainbow Dash’s tail was pulled back.
“Stop it, Rainbow. She isn’t a spy. But she knows what’s going on, right, Twilight?” said Applejack. Mabel, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie approached with worried glances.
Twilight Sparkle found it odd that Rarity wasn’t with them, but decided not to question, “I read about Nightmare Moon’s return in a book. In the book, it says that the Elements of Harmony are the only thing that can stop it. But I don’t know what they are, how they are and where to find them”
“Elements of Harmony: A Guide to References”, read Pinkie Pie a book title on a bookshelf.
Twilight Sparkle pushed Pinkie Pie, “How did you know you were here?” wanted to know Twilight Sparkle, now surprised.
“It was in the letter E”, sang Pinkie Pie as she jumped.
Twilight Sparkle uttered an “Oh,” before taking the book from the bookcase with its magic before reading it, “There are five elements of harmony: kindness, laughter, generosity, honesty and loyalty, the sixth is a complete mystery. The last time the elements were seen was in the castle of the two sisters, located in… ”
“... Everfree Forest!” the six mares finished. They watched the forest in fear before they recovered.
“Uh-hu! Let’s go!” exclameid Pinkie Pie animated, about to enter the forest, but was prevented by Twilight Sparkle.
“Wait a minute!” Pinkie Pie stopped.
“Look. Thank you for bringing me here, but I must proceed on my own”, said Twilight Sparkle, all determined.
“No way, sugarcube. We aren’t going to let a friend of ours go into this dangerous forest”, said Applejack. Twilight Sparkle was confused that Applejack had called her a friend.
Applejack and the others but Pinkie and Twilight entered the woods, “We’re going to be by your side like candied apple”, the others agreed.
Pinkie Pie brightened, “I didn’t know that had caramel apple in the woods”
Twilight Sparkle was silent, “what? They’re very good”, Pinkie Pie stepped into the woods. Twilight Sparkle let out a breath before entering the forest as well.
Nightmare Moon was waiting for Rarity. Until she heard footsteps. Nightmare Moon’s ears brightened. She saw a shadow coming from the corridor. Rarity came running to Nightmare Moon. She was very tired, “darling”
“Why did it take so long?” wanted to know Nightmare Moon.
“I had to try to find out where the two Sisters’ castle was located, dear”, replied Rarity, still tired.
“Why didn’t you use a teleportation spell?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“I didn’t learn to teleport so far, darling”, replied Rarity.
“Didn’t you learn this spell?” asked Nightmare Moon.
“More or less, Nightmare Moon”, replied Rarity.
“Well, I think we’d better go”, said Nightmare Moon.
Rarity was confused, “huh?”
“We need to stop those ponies from everfree forest”, said Nightmare Moon.
“Should I change my shape?” wanted to know Rarity.
Nightmare Moon nodded, “yes”
Rarity used her magic to transform herself. Her mane became longer, part of her mane turned white, her hair turned black, and her height increased. Nightmare Moon smiled at the change. She didn’t know which shape was prettier: The Nightmare form or the normal mare form.
“Why that smile, darling?” asked Nightmare Rarity with a smile.
Nightmare Moon suddenly flushed, “for nothing, Rarity”, she was smiling.
“Admit it. I’m fabulous like that”, said Nightmare Rarity.
Nightmare Moon didn’t know why she was blushing. Did she have feelings for Nightmare Rarity? It couldn’t be. She saw Nightmare Rarity only as her friend. She couldn’t be in love with Nightmare Rarity, could she?
As Nightmare Rarity, she thought the exact opposite: The unicorn thought that her tactic of making Nightmare Moon fall in love was really working.
Nightmare Moon, although she is still blushing, she tried to tell Nightmare Rarity to follow her to prevent the six ponies from reaching the Two Sisters Castle, “Come on, Rarity. We need to stop them from getting here”
“Does that mare in sweatshirt go along?” wanted to know Nightmare Rarity.
“I saw her at the celebration. I’m not sure if she will help those foals”, replied Nightmare Moon.
“Ok. Come on. I think if she goes along, I’ll have a chance to get revenge”, said Nightmare Rarity.
Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity came out of the Two Sisters Castle and they saw the six ponies walking in a spot that was near a cliff. To Nightmare Moon’s surprise, Mabel was with the other mares, “Look, Nightmare Rarity. Mabel is with them”, Nightmare Moon said as she pointed at Mabel.
“Can I go there to attack her?” asked Nightmare Rarity. She wanted to destroy Mabel because it was fault of this mare that Nightmare Rarity lost her friends.
“No, Nightmare Rarity. I understand why you want to attack her. But it’s better if you don’t attack her now”, replied Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Rarity was confused, “but why not?” she wanted to know why she couldn’t finish this mare in sweats.
“They will realize and recognize that it is you. They may not yet know that you are by my side”, explained Nightmare Moon.
“But what’s your plan then?” wanted to know Nightmare Rarity.
“We will try to distract them. That first part I will become a mist and you will use your magic to knock down the ground where those mares are, I will also help make the ground fall”, explained Nightmare Moon.
“And the rest?” asked Nightmare Rarity.
“Well, we’ll see about that. But if we fail to stop them in the woods, when they arrive at the castle, probably that cheeky foal who remembers my name will try to activate the Elements of Harmony to defeat us, so she can have her dear princess back. You must prevent her from finding the spark, you will take your normal mare form and distract her, I will go as a misty to the elements and grab and teleport me to another place in the castle to break the Elements of Harmony”, explained Nightmare Moon.
“Where will you teleport after getting the elements?” wanted to know Nightmare Rarity.
“To the throne room. You know where it is, right?” said Nightmare Moon.
“I’m not sure. But I think I can teleport to this room you’ll be in”, replied Nightmare Rarity.
“Ok. Now let’s wait for the right time”, said Nightmare Moon before turning into a fog and moving to where the mares were walking. She was going to wait for the right moment to make the ground crumble, and then these mares would fall to their deaths.
“Did the ponies that entered this forest come out alive?” asked Applejack.
“No pony knows”, said Rainbow Dash in a frightened way. Mabel, Pinkie and Fluttershy were scared.
“Because every pony that comes in here…” Rainbow Dash began to walk slowly to the three frightened mares.
“Rainbow, stop it”, said Applejack, not liking this joke.
“... Never get out alive!!” Rainbow Dash exclaimed the last sentence.
The ground the mares were on was broken. Twilight, Mabel, Applejack have fallen. Fluttershy and Rainbow didn’t fall because of flying, “Come on, Fluttershy. Let’s save our friends”, said Rainbow Dash, before flying to the rescue.
“My Celestia”, said Fluttershy before flying to save her friends.
Rainbow Dash caught Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy caught Mabel by the tail. But Applejack and Twilight continued to fall. Applejack managed to save himself by holding onto a branch. She looked down and saw that Twilight Sparkle continued to fall. Twilight Sparkle was struggling to hold on and not fall. Applejack, realizing this, let go of the branch and went to Twilight Sparkle, “hang on. I’m coming”, Applejack caught Twilight Sparkle by the hooves.
“Applejack, what do I do?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
Applejack had an idea, “let go”
“Are you crazy?!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle in panic.
“It’s not crazy. You’ll be fine”, said Applejack.
“It’s not true”, denied Twilight Sparkle.
“Look, what I’m saying is the true truth. Release. You’ll be fine”, said Applejack.
Twilight Sparkle denied it for a few moments before trusting and releasing. She shouted. Until she felt held. She realized that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were holding her, “whew”, she said in relief.
Suddenly Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy almost dropped Twilight, but managed to hold it, “I’m sorry. It’s been a while since I’ve held a pony besides my animals”
Twilight Sparkle realized that Applejack was coming down. She watched Applejack.
Nightmare Moon returned to normal form and looked at Nightmare Rarity, “damn it. They have been saved”
“Any idea what to do?” asked Nightmare Rarity.
Nightmare Moon saw that it had a Manticora far away, “yes. Can you become a thorn?”
Nightmare Rarity seemed unsure how her friend could say, “no, darling. Why?”
“I’m seeing a Manticora from far away. I intend to turn a thorn to make the Manticora feel pain and attack the six mares”, explained Nightmare Moon.
Nightmare Rarity smiled at that, “I liked the sound of that. Will I help you with that, darling?”
Nightmare Moon thought before answering, “I don’t think so”
Nightmare Rarity was sad about that, but understood. Nightmare Moon turned to fog and went to the Manticora. The Manticora let out a roar. Nightmare Rarity flew up so the mares wouldn’t see her.
“Manticora!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle upon seeing the Manticora. “We have to go through her”
Manticora went to Mabel. Mabel dodged before kicking Manticora, “take it! Take it!”
The Manticora roared and Mabel’s mane became messy. Mabel laughed, “my mane got messy”, the mare looked at the Manticora before screaming in fright and running.
“Wait”, Fluttershy tried to say.
The Manticora intended to run after Mabel, but Applejack climbed on top of the Manticora like a rodeo. The Manticora was struggling to get Applejack, and she got it.
“It’s your turn, Rainbow”, said Applejack, now in the air.
“Yes. Of course”, said Rainbow Dash, before flying to Manticora.
“Wait”, Fluttershy tried to say, but Rainbow Dash passed her.
Rainbow Dash spun around the Manticora. But Manticora stopped the pegasus with its syrup. Rainbow Dash hit the syrup and fell back, “Rainbow!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle.
Twilight Sparkle looked at Rainbow Dash before glaring at Manticora. She hoofed the floor before smoke drifted from her nose and started running to the Manticora. The other mares started running, too, except Fluttershy, who prevented, “Wait!!” exclaimed Fluttershy. They stopped running. Nightmare Rarity was annoyed that Fluttershy interrupted the fight. It was so good to watch.
Fluttershy went to the Manticora. The Manticora prepared to attack. But Fluttershy prevented, “It’s all right”, said Fluttershy with a kind smile.
The Manticora looked at her paw before showing Fluttershy a thorn that was stuck in her paw, “oh. Poor little baby ”
“Little baby?” asked Rainbow Dash, surprised.
“This will hurt just a little”, said Fluttershy, before taking the thorn out with his mouth.
The Manticora grabbed Fluttershy as he roared, “Fluttershy!!” exclaimed the five mares in unison.
To their surprise, Manticora just licked Fluttershy’s mane in thanks for taking the thorn off her paw. Seeing that Fluttershy was safe, they passed the Manticora. Twilight Sparkle waited for Fluttershy.
“How did you know Manticora had a thorn?” wanted to know Twilight Sparkle. Fluttershy started to walk.
“I didn’t know. Sometimes all we have to do is show a little kindness”, replied Fluttershy. Twilight Sparkle thought for a few seconds before smiling and continuing to walk.
But what they didn’t know was that the thorn was actually Nightmare Moon and that Nightmare Rarity was watching the fight. Nightmare Rarity was already getting annoyed that the mares had passed a Manticora. And to make matters worse, the one who stopped Manticora was Fluttershy. The same mare Nightmare Rarity considered her best friend, before being replaced. Nightmare Moon no longer a thorn, has returned to her normal form. Nightmare Rarity landed on the floor and Nightmare Moon went to her, “now what? They passed through Manticora”
“Calm down, Nightmare Rarity. They still have a long way to go there. I know the way of color. So I already have ideas on how we can stop them, ”said Nightmare Moon. “They will have to go through a forest. So, I fear you will have to join them”
“So let me get this straight, darling. I will join them, but I will be in my non-Nightmare form, and when they arrive at the castle, I must do everything so that that unicorn doesn’t find the spark while you get the elements?” wanted to understand Nightmare Rarity.

There was still something that bothered Nightmare Moon, “but why does a pony do that? What does it mean?”
“Simple, darling. Nightmare Rarity was happy and hugged Nightmare Moon, “I love you too, darling!! Yes it is! I want to be your marefriend!!” Nightmare Moon was surprised by this reaction.
A silence fell between them. Nightmare Rarity blushed, released Nightmare Moon and laughed nervously, “hehe. Well, I’m glad you feel the same way I do. Well, should we continue with the plan to stop them?”
“Yes, love”, Nightmare Moon smiled at calling that Nightmare Rarity that way. She no longer blushed for calling the unicorn that way, because she already knew she liked Nightmare Rarity.
“Yes, darling”, that said, Nightmare Rarity used her magic and her form diminished to a white unicorn with purple mane and a three-diamond Cutie Mark.
“Even in that form, you’re still beautiful, love”, said Nightmare Moon with a smile.
Rarity blushed at the compliment, “thank you, darling”
“Now go. Just don’t forget what you have to do”, said Nightmare Moon.
Rarity nodded before rushing over to where Twilight and the others were.
Twilight Sparkle and the others were walking until they heard footsteps. Rainbow Dash turned and saw the shape of a pony running towards them. They saw that it was Rarity. The white unicorn stopped running, “I finally caught up with you, darlings”, said Rarity wearily.
“Wait a moment there. Have you been following us?” wanted to know Applejack.
“Yes, dear. I heard you intended to stop Nightmare Moon, and I decided to help you,” lied Rarity, bitterness slipping into her tone. Luckily, the mares didn’t notice the lie or the bitterness in Rarity’s tone.
“Let’s go girls. We need to get to Two Sisters Castle”, said Twilight Sparkle, before walking again. The other mares followed Twilight Sparkle.
As they walked, it was very dark. Everypony except Rarity didn’t know that Nightmare Moon passed them. Nightmare Moon entered a tree.
“I think I stepped on something”, said Applejack, seeing that her hooves were dirty with mud. Fluttershy shouted, “It’s just mud”, said Applejack, not understanding why Fluttershy shouted. She looked ahead and saw that the tree had a scary face. Applejack jumped away, startled.
Everypony was scared. Well, except Rarity, who was pretending to be scared. They heard a laugh and saw that Pinkie Pie was laughing at the tree’s face, “Pinkie Pie! What are you doing? Run!” said Twilight Sparkle with fear.
Pinkie Pie looked at her friends, “Ah, girls. Can’t you see?”
When I was just a foal, and the sun was setting…
“Don’t tell me she’s ...” tried to say Twilight Sparkle, but was interrupted by Pinkie Pie.
Shadows and darkness filled me with dread…
“You’re crazy, huh?” said Mabel.

But my mother came to me and said, “Pinkie, you have to get up and when you face your fears, you will see that nothing else will scare you.
Pinkie Pie laughed at a tree with a scary face. That done, the scary face disappeared. Pinkie Pie looked back at her friends. They all breathed a sigh of surprise.

After laughing, they left and came to a part that had a river, Bbut they stopped to see that the river had waves madly, “How are we going to cross the river like this?”
Suddenly they heard a cry. Twilight and the others passed through a bush and saw a Sea Serpent crying, “why? Why? Why?!” whined the Sea Serpent.
“Excuse me, but why are you crying?” asked Twilight Sparkle.
“Well, I was enjoying my life until- Vup! Something passed and cut my mustache. My beautiful mustach !!” the Snake threw himself into the water. The water wet the seven mares.
“Oh please”, said Rainbow Dash.
“Yeah. It’s just a mustache”, agreed Applejack
“Just a mustache? Honestly, you are insensitive,” said Mabel, before approaching the Sea Serpent.“ You’re very handsome, right?”
The snake lifted its head off the ground and said happily, “Yes, I am”
“And everything was spoiled because your mustache was taken off”, said Mabel.
“Yes it is!!” agreed the snake.
“If there’s one thing Mabel can’t stand, it’s sad creatures and ponies”, said Mabel, before pulling a ladder from the snake’s belly.
The snake screamed before a tear came out. “Why did you do this?”
“Mabel, what are you…” tried to say Twilight Sparkle, but seeing what Mabel did shocked her.
“OOhh. My mustache…” The snake fell.
Mabel threw the scale away before taking the piece of the fallen tail and placing it where the mustache was cut. The snake was surprised, “my mustache? Oh, thank you so much”
“Not at all, big guy”, said Mabel.
“Oh, Mabel. You tail”, said Twilight Sparkle, now sad.
“It’s fine, guys. Soon it grows again”, said Mabel.
Twilight Sparkle smiled at Mabel before realizing that the river was watering now, “look. We can cross now”, she said, now walking on the river. Suddenly she felt a tremor.
“Above me”, asked the Serpent. The mares did what the Sea Serpent said.
As Rarity jumped, she already knew what she would do when Twilight tried to find the spark. She just had to hope the other mares weren’t around.
After crossing, the mares were walking until Twilight Sparkle saw the castle from afar, “the Castle of the Two Sisters! We did it!” she started running.
The friends of Twilight and Rarity chased after Twilight, “Twilight, wait!” asked Applejack.
As she ran, Twilight looked back, “We’re almost there”, she said happily. Suddenly their front hooves fell at the site of the destroyed bridge. She was fighting not to slip and fall.
Rainbow Dash pulled back the Twilight Sparkle syrup, “If I didn’t pull you, you would have fallen”, she said. Twilight Sparkle looked up.
“How are we going to get across?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“Duh”, said Rainbow Dash, flapping her wings, before going downstairs to grab the bridge rope and go to the other side to tie up.
“Rainbow…”
“Who said that?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“Rainbow…”
“I know you are there! Show yourself!” exclaimed Rainbow Dash bravely and ready to fight.
“Why, we were looking for you”
“Me?” asked Rainbow Dash.
“Why, you. Of course”
“Me? Oh yes! Me! Hey. Do you have a place reserved for the Wonderbolts? You know, I always join them”, said Rainbow Dash, all excited.
“No. We aren’t the Wonderbolts. We are… ” a group of three pegasus in flight uniforms appeared from the fog. “... The Shadowbolts”
Rainbow Dash was confused. “We’re the Everfree Forest guardians and we need a leader”, Rainbow Dash brightened when the female pegasus said “leader.”
“The most fearless”, said the female pegasus.
“Yes”, agreed Rainbow Dash.
“The boldest”, said the female pegasus.
“Yes”, said Rainbow Dash.
“We need ...” Rainbow Dash was excited now.
“… You”, finished the female pegasus.
Rainbow Dash flew up, “wow! I’m in!” she approached the bridge rope,“ just let me tie it in here. Then we’ll have a deal”
The female pegasus stepped in front of Rainbow Dash, “no! It’s them or us!” Rainbow Dash was undecided.
“Rainbow! Why is it taking so long?” asked Twilight Sparkle before noticing that Rainbow Dash was with a group of three pegasus with the same colors as Nightmare Moon. “Oh no. Rainbow!”
The female pegasus heard Twilight Sparkle and her eyes sparkle, causing a haze for Rainbow to not hear the unicorn, “Don’t listen to her”
“So?” wanted to know the female pegasus.
Rainbow Dash decided, “you”
The pegasus smiling victoriously, “... Thanks for the offer,” Rainbow Dash walked over to the bridge rope before tying and flying. “But… I have to say no”, she flew to her friends.
The trio of pegasus jumped before turning into blue mist. Rainbow Dash reached out to her friends and cheered before walking on the bridge. Rainbow Dash went to Twilight Sparkle, “you see? I never let my friends down”, Twilight smiled at that.
Luna and Rarity Are Forgiven (Edited)
Twilight Sparkle and her friends entered Two Sisters’ Castle. Twilight smiled at what she saw, “the elements! We found it!”
Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy picked up the elements carefully before placing each one on the floor, “careful. Careful”
“One, two, three, four, five,” said Pinkie Pie. “There are only five”
“How does this work?” asked Applejack.
“The book said the sixth element was a complete mystery”, recapped Twilight Sparkle, now lying on the floor.
“So, are you saying the sixth element will appear when everyone is activated?” Applejack wanted to make sure.
“I think so,” replied Twilight Sparkle. “Stay back. I don’t know what can happen”
“Let’s go, guys. She needs to focus”, said Applejack. The others followed Applejack, except Rarity.
Rarity glanced back before silently approaching the lavender unicorn. Rarity just hoped Twilight wouldn’t hear her. When she got very close, Rarity realized that Twilight had her eyes closed. She needed to do something. The white unicorn looked back and saw Nightmare Moon, waiting for Rarity to act. Rarity popped a makeup case with her magic. Lucky for her, Twilight was too focused to hear the noise. Rarity was relieved to know that. She went to the tip of her hooves with the case.
When it was very close, Rarity grabbed a blush case before blowing hard, causing a smoke. Twilight Sparkle began to cough. Nightmare Moon took advantage and turned a mist to pick up the Elements of Harmony. Lucky, Nightmare Moon could see where the Elements were and got them. But to the misfortune of Nightmare Moon and Rarity, Twilight could see the Elements being caught by Nightmare Moon. “The Elements!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle before jumping. Rarity took the opportunity to jump. Lucky, she jumped just in time.
When they disappeared, the other mares entered the castle, but didn’t see Twilight and Rarity. Yes. The mare heard Twilight scream and noticed that Rarity didn’t follow them.
“Where are they?”
“Where did they go?”
“Twilight? Rarity? Where are you?” called Applejack.
“Look, guys!” exclaimed Mabel, looking at the window, which showed another part of the castle that glowed white.
“Come on guys!” led Applejack the rescue.
Meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle arrived in a room she believed to be the throne room. She was coughing from the smoke. When she opened her eyes, Twilight was surprised. She saw Nightmare Moon with the Elements of Harmony on her mane and beside her was Rarity. Twilight Sparkle was surprised. Why was Rarity next to Nightmare Moon? She stood up. “Nightmare Moon, let Rarity go!” exclaimed Twilight Sparkle, prepared to attack Nightmare Moon with her magic.
Nightmare Moon smiled. “Do you really think I captured her?”
“Of course. Now return Rarity before I activate the Elements of Harmony and you’re banished to the moon again,” replied Twilight Sparkle, now about to use her magic to run to Nightmare Moon and attack her.
“What if I told you that Rarity has been helping me all this time?” asked Nightmare Moon.
Twilight looked confused before recovering. “You’re lying!” she denied.
“What if I told you that Rarity helped me defeat your princess?” asked Nightmare Moon, now with a mischievous smile.
Twilight Sparkle was shocked. It couldn’t be true. She stopped using her magic. “No. Isn’t true! You can only be lying!”
Nightmare Moon rolled her eyes. “So ... Won’t you accept?”
“No!!” answered Twilight Sparkle. She wouldn’t accept that. She wouldn’t fall for this ‘trick’.
“Ok. You leave me no choice. ” Nightmare Moon looked at Rarity. “Rarity, have the honors”
Rarity used her magic to transform herself. Her mane became longer, part of her mane turned white, her coat turned black, and her height increased.
Twilight Sparkle was surprised to see this. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing. Has Rarity been working for Nightmare Moon and she didn’t even notice?
“Why, Rarity? Why are you on Nightmare Moon’s side? Don’t you realize that Nightmare Moon plans to bring eternal night? Don’t you realize the consequences of that?” wanted to know Twilight Sparkle.
“First of all, my name isn’t Rarity, it’s Nightmare Rarity. And to answer your question is because my friends have replaced me with a mare wearing a sweatshirt and braces. You don’t understand what it means to be replaced! I became Nightmare Rarity because of them! They must regret replacing me!” replied Nightmare Rarity, now with tears in her eyes, about to cry. Nightmare Moon, realizing this, wiped Nightmare Rarity’s tears with a hoof.
Twilight Sparkle knew she needed to act. But what would she do? She would need to get their attention. She had an idea. The lavender unicorn made an attacking stance. Nightmare Moon stooped conforting Nightmare Rarity and looked at Twilight. “You’re kidding. You’re kidding me, right?” said Nightmare Moon, not believing that Twilight Sparkle planned to attack them.
But Twilight Sparkle didn’t hear and prepare her magic before rushing to Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity. Nightmare Moon smiled at that, Twilight Sparkle hoped that Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity would rush to her. But only Nightmare Moon ran to her. Nightmare Rarity stayed where she was because she was still sad that she was replaced.
When Twilight and Nightmare Moon were getting very close, the unicorn used a teleportation spell. Nightmare Moon stopped running, got confused, looked back and saw that Twilight teleported where the Elements and Nightmare Rarity were. “Nightmare Rarity! Don’t let Twilight find the spark!” exclaimed Nightmare Moon from afar.
Nightmare Rarity listened to Nightmare and saw Twilight already with her eyes closed while using magic. Nightmare Rarity took Twilight with her magic and threw her away. Twilight felt herself being thrown and screamed as she fell flat on her back. She got up and saw that Nightmare Moon was already by Nightmare Rarity’s side. Suddenly, the Elements began to glow, “No! No!” exclaimed Nightmare Moon angrily. Nightmare Rarity looked with a face of possible fear, but the Elements have stopped shining.
Twilight Sparkle let out a gasp of surprise, “But… Where is the sixth Element?”
Nightmare Moon laughed before lifting the front hooves and breaking them. Twilight stared in disbelief.
“You little fool. Thinking you could beat us,” said Nightmare Moon. “Now, you’ll never see your princess or the sun again. The night… will last… forever!”
Nightmare Moon started to laugh. While Nightmare Rarity just stared at Twilight Sparkle. Twilight looked sad. Knowing she let her mentor down. Suddenly she heard the voices of the six mares and looked back. She was surprised and her eyes twinkled, before looking back at Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity. “Did you two really think could destroy the Elements as easy as that? Well, you’re wrong. Because the Elements spirits are right… here!”
The pieces of the Elements of Harmony floated as they shone. Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity were surprised.
“What?” asked Nightmare Moon in a confused way.
“How?!” wanted to know Nightmare Rarity.
“Applejack, who told me the truth when I was in doubt. It represents the spirit of Honesty,” said Twilight Sparkle. Fragments of the Element of Honesty went to Applejack.
“Fluttershy, who helped Manticora using her kindness. It represents the spirit of Kindness,” said Twilight Sparkle. The fragments of the Element of Kindness went to Fluttershy.
“Pinkie Pie, who stunned our fears of laughing at the unknown. It represents the spirit of Laughter,” said Twilight Sparkle. The fragments of the Element of Laughter went to Pinkie Pie.
“Mabel, who calmed the Serpent by sacrificing her own tail. It represents the spirit of Generosity,” said Twilight Sparkle. The fragments of the Elements of Generosity went to Mabel.
“And Rainbow Dash, who hasn’t abandoned her friends, not even for her biggest dream. It represents the spirit of Loyalty,” said Twilight Sparkle. Fragments of the Element of Loyalty had already reached Rainbow Dash.
“The spirit of these five ponies was able to go through whatever challenge you two brought us,” said Twilight Sparkle.
“But you don’t have the sixth Element yet. The spark didn’t work!” said Nightmare Moon.
“Yeah. Why are you so confident?” said Nightmare Rarity. Nightmare Rarity couldn’t believe that she and Nightmare Moon would lose.
“But I have another kind of spark,” said Twilight Sparkle, before looking at the five mares she made friends with. “I realized that when I was happy to see you, to hear you, how much I care about you. Mostly because you all…” Twilight Sparkle turned around, “... are my friends”
Suddenly, a glow came from the ceiling and went to where Twilight was. Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity had to cover their eyes.
“You see Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity, when all the Elements are gathered by the… Spark that resides in our hearts, creates the Sixth Element,” said Twilight Sparkle.
Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity were scared. “The element of magic!” Twilight closed her eyes and the element of magic shone even brighter. The fragments went to the neck of the five mares and became necklaces. For Twilight, the sixth Element turned a crown with her Curie Mark. When the six mares got together it formed a rainbow, which went to Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity. They both screamed as the rainbow began to envelop them. While on the six mares, Twilight’s eyes glowed white before a flash occurred.
When the glare faded, the six mares lay on the floor. “My head,” said Rainbow Dash.
“Are you all right?” wanted to know Applejack.
“Oh my,” said Mabel.
“Hey, Mabel. Have you noticed?” asked Fluttershy.
“Yeah. I got my tail back.” Mabel hugged her tail.
“I know. But you have a necklace identical to your Cutie Mark,” said Fluttershy.
Mabel noted. “Oh. But so do you.” Fluttershy looked down at her necklace.
“Look mine! Look mine!” exclaimed Pinkie Pie excitedly, now near Applejack, who was looking at her necklace before looking at Pinkie’s necklace.
“Oh yeah,” said Rainbow Dash, admiring her new necklace.
Twilight Sparkle was admiring her crown with her element.
“Wow, Twilight. I think we are really the bearers of the Elements,” Applejack told Twilight Sparkle.
Suddenly a light came and a voice said, “And you’re right.” The night turned to day, the sun rose over the horizon before a light came out of the sky and hit the ground. When the glow was over, Princess Celestia was in place.
All the mares bowed to Celestia. Minus Twilight Sparkle who smiled when she saw her mentor. “Princess Celestia!” she rushed over to Celestia to hug her.
Celestia smiled when she saw Twilight Sparkle and hugged her. “Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student.” They came out of the hug, “I knew you could make it.”
Twilight Sparkle was confused. “But you told me it was a pony tale…”
“I told you you needed to make friends, nothing more,” said Celestia, still with a smile.
The other mares stopped bowing and looked at Celestia, “I knew of Nightmare Moon’s return and I knew you and yours were the only ones who could defeat her.” Twilight Sparkle smiled at Celestia before smiling at her friends, and they they smiled back. “... Or should I say, Princess Luna.” The mares looked to where Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity were, and saw that in place were a light blue Alicorn with blue perk and a black crown and a Cutie Mark of a The moon beside Alicorn was a white purple-mane unicorn with a three-diamond Cutie Mark.
Luna woke up to hear her name being called, she saw Celestia approach her. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you like this.” Celestia sat down next to Luna, who was ashemed of herself. “We were made to rule together, little sister.”
Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy say in unison, “Sister?”
Celestia stood up, “So? Will you accept my friendship?” Luna closed her eyes to think about it.
The mares waited anxiously for Luna’s answer. Pinkie Pie fell to the floor. Luna made her decision, she went to Celestia. “I’m so sorry! I missed you so much, sister,” said Luna through tears.
Celestia was crying with joy. “I missed you too.”
Suddenly everypony in the room heard Rarity’s voice. “Urg… Luna…? What happened?”
Luna heard Rarity’s voice and went to her to help her. She offered her a hoof. “Love, are you ok?”
Rarity stood up, holding on to Luna. “Yes, darling.” When she was fully standing, she released Luna. Luna smiled at that.
Everypony except Luna and Rarity were surprised. “Love?” asked Celestia. Luna and Rarity’s ears brightened.
“Little sister, were you and Rarity dating when you both were Nightmare Moon and Nightmare Rarity?”
Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash felt ashamed of themselves. Because of them hanging out with Mabel so much and always ignoring Rarity, they caused her to become Nightmare Rarity. Guilt washed over them as they imagined the pain they inflicted on Rarity all those years ago.
“Well, Rarity fell in love with me first when she and I were on the moon. I felt the same way she did, I just didn’t know that what I felt was love, I thought that what I felt was just friendship and not love,” explained Luna, now afraid that Celestia wouldn’t accept it.
“Of course I do, Luna. I’m glad you found somepony who appreciates and loves you”, replied Celestia with a smile.
“Really? Thank you, Tia,” said Luna with a smile.
“Hey. Do you know what that means?” asked Pinkie Pie.
“A party!” Exclaimed Pinkie Pie. The ponies returned to Ponyville happily. Celestia and Luna were in a carriage. Spike went to Twilight and hugged her. Celestia smiled at that. The four mares looked at Luna and Rarity with a smile before bowing, giving a sign that they forgave Luna and Rarity for what they did.
Four fillies handed one flower necklace to Luna and one to Rarity. Luna and Rarity looked at each other happily, knowing they were forgiven. Celestia smiled at that. Twilight Sparkle watched everything that happened before she got sad and her ears went down. “What’s up, my faithful student?” Twilight Sparkle’s ears brightened. “You’re not happy that your journey is over and now you can return to Canterlot and continue your studies?”
“That’s the problem,” said Twilight Sparkle, her ears falling back down. “Now that I understand the importance of having friends, I will have to abandon them.”
Celestia had an idea. “Hmm, I already know. Spike, write it down.” Spike took a scroll and started writing. “ I, Princess Celestia, allow my student, Twilight Sparkle, to stay in Ponyville to learn about the magic of friendship, and she should send me letters about what she learned.”
Twilight Sparkle was happy for what she heard and her friends went to her with smiles. She looked at Celestia and said, “Thank you, princess. I promise I’ll dedicate myself.”
It’s been a few days, and Luna and Rarity were still adapting to their normal life before. Luna returned to be the princess of the night and Rarity returned to work at Boutique Carrousel. The ponies have already forgiven them, but they still felt sorry for what they did. But despite that, Luna and Rarity spent a lot of time together. Luna even offered to help Rarity in the dresses. Rarity gladly accepted the help. Luna couldn’t sew like her marefriend, but she got the materials for Rarity to make the dresses. Although Rarity preferred to work alone, she appreciated Luna’s help so she accepted her help. Rarity was sewing a dress on the sewing machine, she was wearing her red glasses. Luna watched sitting with a smile on her face. Until, they heard a knock on the door. Rarity and Luna stopped what they were doing, Rarity took off her glasses, they went downstairs and went to the door. Rarity opened the door to see who it was. To her surprise, it was Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, for some reason Twilight and Mabel weren’t.
“Darlings? What are you guys doing here?” asked Rarity.
Who spoke first was Applejack, “Rarity, we’re sorry”, she said regretfully.
Rarity was confused, “What are you talking about, darling? What are you sorry about?”
“Because we abandoned you,” replied Applejack. “We had enjoyed spending time with Mabel so much that we forgot about you. Could you forgive us?”
“Of course, dear ones. I should have been more understandable. Everypony can have their friends. No friend would leave another friend,” said Rarity, before approaching her friends and hugging her. Luna just watched this scene with a smile.
Rarity came out of the hug, “Where’s Twilight and Mabel?” wanted to know Rarity.
“Twilight is reading at the Golden Oak’s Library and Mabel is playing with Fluttershy’s pigs.” Applejack replied.
Rarity smiled, “Mabel really liked pigs, right?”
“Yes, Rarity. She even told me that pigs are her favorite animals”, replied Fluttershy with a smile.
“Aren’t you going to spend the day with Twilight or Mabel?” asked Rarity.
“Well, no. We would like to spend the rest of the day with you. Since in the past, we spent a lot of time with Mabel and not with you”, replied Applejack.
Applejack remembered something, “Rarity, there’s one more thing I need to talk about”
Rarity was confused, “What, darling?”
“Rarity, I’m so sorry I fought you and stopped being your friend. I value Honesty so much that when you said you didn’t have novelty but there was one I didn’t realize you just wanted to surprise us. Could you forgive me?” said Applejack, now holding her hat.
“Of course, darling”, replied Rarity.
“Rarity…” began Rainbow Dash.
“What’s up, darling?” asked Rarity.
“I… I would like to say that… that… I’m so sorry”, Rainbow Dash whispered the last sentence.
Rarity didn’t hear the last sentence, “you what?”
“I’m so sorry!!” exclaimed Rainbow Dash.
“But why, dear? What are you sorry about?” asked Rarity.
“Because I wasn’t understandable to you when you didn’t make the dresses because you cried. I should have realized you were sad”, replied Rainbow Dash, still sad.
“It’s all right, darling. I forgive you”, said Rarity. Rainbow Dash smiled.
“So, are you busy right now?” asked Applejack.
“Well, I’m making a dress right now. Why?” said Rarity.
“It’s just that the others and I would like to spend the rest of the day with you”, replied Applejack.
“I don’t know, darlings”, said Rarity, still in doubt.
“If you want, it doesn’t have to be all day. We’d like to spend some afternoon with you”, said Applejack.
“Okay, darling. I think if just for some time, i think I can,” Rarity glanced at Luna, before kissing her marefriend’s cheek. “I’ll be right back, Luna”
“OK love. I’ll be waiting for you”, said Luna with a smile. Rarity waved to Luna before following her friends.
Luna waved back before closing the door and smiling. Luna never imagined she would find somepony who liked her. But at least she had somepony now who liked her and her night. And now with Rarity being her marefriend, the things would go much better for her, since with Rarity she would have somepony to talk to besides her sister Celestia.
