In a world torn by war and disease, at the very center lies, Equestria. For a young, purple, innocent mare, this nation has always been a place of light, harmony, and safety, provided you try not to think about the possible world ending crisis that emerge, every so often.

However, Twilight Sparkle finds herself in over her head when, after a life threatening attack in order to be kept alive, her heart must be replaced with an Element of Harmony. Now a marked target, she must flee everything she has ever known, with only her friends by her side, and a stream of never-ending questions. Why do these ponies want the elements? Are the elements capable of more than she originally thought?
