A Collection of Old Works.

I am thinking of posting my old backlog of more developed ideas and scenes. Readable works. Maybe gather some food for thought from the comments. So since everything needs a start, I will start with this scene.

To explain, it is an old idea from 2012, this was written as a possible scene from ancient history for the Widening the Lens collaborative story project on Spacebattles.net way back when. I believe Harry Leaferts posted it here and some of my work was included.

Widening the Lens was an Equestia transported to Earth story idea that My Little Pony as it existed in 2011-2013 was a TV series of that Earth, and that Earth was itself a media franchise in Equestria. The idea being that both worlds were seen through the lens of children's media, and that with Equestria transported to Earth, they and Earth would need to figure out how to come to an understanding of a new reality. One where it isn't a show for kids and foals, it's a world where things bleed and suffer, and sometimes it works out. Criminals, subversives, and cultists roil under the bright sunshine exterior of Equestria, as do the steel ships and grand cities hide more than just natural disasters and accidents.

It slowed down to a halt, and due to stressing events during that process, I can say that during this project I lost my passion for the fandom.

So I am going to post this here, and maybe see if this is something worth thinking about. Perhaps someone will enjoy it, and perhaps I will find inspiration in the comments to maybe develop this idea more.

The premise of this snippet is that the one thousand years between the banishment of Nightmare Moon and modern Equestria was not a smooth affair. There is a reason history is lost. Dark Ages happen...and rending asunder the only person that can provide continuity and having the rug pulled out from under you is probably not the best for one's mental health. So Celestia breaks down, and with her break down the empire she built with her sister Luna breaks down. Central authority cedes to regional powers, cultural memory fades as all there is left, is a crumbling ruin in a dark dangerous forest being tended to by backwater peasants.

From here, I believe I might include more old content that I wrote. Possible background elements that wound up never being used for a story that sadly never continued. In any case, I hope that perhaps someone will read this scene and tell me what they think.
