Today was the day, Berry Punch thought to herself as she made her way into the kitchen. Her hooves felt shaky and her heart was beating in her chest as she poured a small glass of wine to calm her nerves. She could hear her daughter, Ruby Pinch, in the next room flicking though channels and giving a bored sigh after still not finding anything of interest.
That was ok though; Mommy had something a little more exciting in mind.
It took her a while to work up the courage; weeks in fact. Though, after the rumours floating around town of what happened to Dinky Hooves and her mother, an idea had been lingering in her mind. She’d heard separate mentions of Boysenberry, Noi, and even Sweetie Belle floating around; much to Rarity’s embarrassment whenever the topic was brought up.
At first she thought her mind must have been playing a joke, but the more that she thought about it, the more she laid in bed at night, imagining and exploring the idea further. There were a few times she indulged herself while she was alone in her room, rubbing until her hoof was soaking wet and putting her right to sleep.

Ruby sighed and tossed the remote into the pile of pillows beside her, randomly ending up on a home and garden style show. “No… just commercials or boring stuff like this. Nothing’s even on at this time.”
“Well… that sucks,” she said and left her mouth open, still wanting to say more but the words seemed to fall away. She had a nice speech planned, but she obviously didn’t practice it enough. “I…” she hesitantly started as they just stared at each other, with Ruby’s face only getting more and more confused.
“Are you alright, Mom?” she said as she sat up and looked her over, checking to see if anything was in her hooves or sitting on the nearby counters.
“I’m fine… and no, it’s not about that… it’s just…” she said cautiously, biting her lip as she went a little further. “I just want to show you something… something downstairs… i-in my study.”
Ruby’s eyebrows showed just how sceptical she was. “But you said never to go into there. Never ever.”
“W-well… yes… but tonight’s different. I want to show you something that’s in there and… well… a bit more exciting than this.” She pointed to the TV and got an agreeing nod from her daughter.
“Anything’s more exciting than this,” Ruby said with a small shrug and hopped off the couch.
This was going along pretty easy so far. Not as easy as her smooth speech that she had planned that would’ve sent Ruby running downstairs in moments, but not as bad as the several backfires that played in her mind where the filly was already running out the front door.
Ruby trotted into the kitchen, only to give Berry an awkward look back when she saw the open wine bottle on the counter. Berry sheepishly rubbed the back of her head. “Uh… w-want some?” she blurted out; it’s not like alcohol was going to be worse than everything else planned for tonight.
Ruby had to do a double take to make sure she was hearing her mother correctly. “But…”
“I know what I said.” Berry trotted over to the counter and poured a little of the red liquid into the glass. “Tonight’s a little different, and I think you’re old enough for a taste of adult things.”
Ruby awkwardly took the glass and stared at the forbidden liquid, swirling it around. The two shared a glance and Berry nodded, letting her know it was ok. She gave a shrug and went in for another, longer sip.

“Well that’s good. It’s not the best one I have, but it’s made for easy drinking,” she said like she was talking to a guest and sampling the drinks. There was an awkward pause in the air, Ruby not knowing how to respond to that really. “S-so… about that thing downstairs… lets go have a look.”
The two of them headed downstairs, going to one of the far rooms at the end of the hallway. Berry’s study was a place that Ruby wasn’t going to be getting into; a key was behind one of the pictures on the wall, just to make sure.
Only a few other mares had seen inside here; Lyra and Bonbon being some frequent visitors. The filly looked very unsure, but also quite curious as the door unlocked. Berry couldn’t help but gulp nervously as swung the door open; knowing what was on the other side.
She flicked on the lights as she let her daughter inside to look around. There were a few sets of drawers and counters along one of the walls; filled with all of her goodies that were hidden away for now. On top of the counters, there were even a few sheets draped over some of the more mechanical devices that she owned. The door-less closet was stacked high with colourful pillows and blankets too, with even a mattress propped up against the wall. Though, none of that was going to be the main focus for today.
“What’s this?” Ruby asked, curiously looking at the centerpiece in the room; to the untrained eye it looked like a large, bed-shaped sheet of tan latex on the ground.
Berry took in a deep breath, feeling her entire body tingle with anticipation as she closed the door. Somepony just gets in, and the air gets sucked out, making it like a super tight blanket.” Berry flipped open one of the corners, giving a big smile as she patted on the inside. “Sure!” Ruby chirped out as she walked onto it before lying down on her back and wiggling underneath the squeaky covers. “Like this?” she asked curiously, wondering if she was doing it right.
“That’s perfect!” Berry said as she flipped over the other end of the latex sheet, covering Ruby right up to her neck. The sides sealed automatically as she pressed the magical Velcro together, making sure it was air tight.
Her mother stepped back, admiring the filly laying there, just waiting for the next thing. Now was about time to grab some extra supplies. She stood back up and headed over to the toy-filled drawers. Finally, the spherical head pressed up against her ribs and Ruby’s eyes opened wide. She looked surprised at the feeling and wiggled around as much as she could. Berry smirked as she left the room and headed up the stairs. She made sure to put Ruby down on the couch with the remote in hoof before going back into the kitchen. By the time she got back with two glasses of Mom’s special red juice, Ruby was slightly awake and starting to flick through the channels.
Ruby scotched over as her mother sat down, placing both drinks on the end table and cuddling right into her daughter. It looked like one of Ruby’s favourite shows was starting too as she put the remote down and switched it for a glass.
As Berry snuggled in tighter, pulling Ruby in close with a hoof, she couldn’t help but smile at the wonderful night she had and the fun ideas dancing around in her head for later.
