Chapter 1: How it all started

The sound of an ambulance siren wailed around the nearby street while I panicked desperately trying to regain my focus as a dying man lied in front of me.. The sound of screaming of pain and heart rate monitor fills the ambulance, the man had already lost too many blood on the way to the hospital.

My name is Steve and I'm a paramedic, the pay isn't so good but it pays the bill right? I was hoping to become a surgeon but I ended up becoming a paramedic... yes.. I failed the medical school test, I failed to spell the answer correctly. My lecturer said that I passed all the practical test but it seems that the medical school doesn't seem to really give a shit about it, but I got the paramedic job.

As I started to regain my concentration I quickly stopped some of the bleeding, it was pretty annoying though the man just won't co-operate, he kept moving his arm and leg around randomly inside the ambulance. I asked my buddy Ivan to tie his arms and legs so I can stop the man from bleeding to death, "I wish that using chloroform on an annoying patient like this is allowed" I thought to myself while bandaging the man's bleeding wound.

"Shouldn't have drink that beer while driving ehh.." I said calmly to the bleeding man.

the bleeding man stopped screaming and stared at me as if he is trying to say something and all of the sudden the man vomitted on my uniform "Ohh wow.. really?" I said calmly.

"shouldn't have reminded you about that drink of your if it would pisses you off that badly.." I said to the vomitting man calmly.

As we arrived to the hospital I quickly rushed the man to the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) he lost too many blood and the ambulance only had 1 blood pack, it almost ranned out during half of the trip here.

The doctor said he'll be fine but it'll probably hurt in the morning. I laughed at the doctor statement about the man that we just taken care of, even my buddy Ivanov find it funny.

I finally finished my shift so I went to the hospital cafeteria and eat my lunch there, it's been 3 years since I became a paramedic and they kept rolling that my little pony shit for the kids..

"Oh crap.. not this pony stuff again, can't they just watch Nascar race or NCSI" I said to myself feeling annoyed, I ended up watching this show for the last 2 years everyday during a lunch break the hospital had all the season and episode and they just kept replaying it for the kids but I didn't really paid much attention to the show.

"Nice shirt comrade.. where did you buy that?" Ivan asked while laughing.

"I bought it all the way from Walmart do you like it? It even have the realistic smell of a vomit" I said to Ivan sarcastically as I joined his laughter over my missery.

I finished my lunch and went back to the ambulance, just when we approach the highway I saw a sea of car moving very slowly and the sound of car honking can be heard around me.

"God damn it! Not a rush hour!" I shouted angrily inside the ambulance while my paramedic buddy Ivan laughed at my suffering.

"it is kinda strange though.. where are they going to?!" Ivan ask me.

"I don't know... let's see if the local radio station have anything to say about this" I said to Ivan as I turned on the radio.

An emergency broadcast was being played and it was telling all civilian to get to the nearest Shelter and evacuate there.

"looks like world war three finally started, damn politician and their fail diplomatic skill" I yelled at the radio while my buddy Ivanov bursted into laughter on my reaction to the emergency broadcast.

So I quickly do a 180 degree turn and went back to the hospital.

"well we better get back to the hospital" I said to Ivan.

"dah.. comrade before that fancy INTERCONTINENTAL BALLISTIC MISSILE reaches us along with it's payload of wonderful surprise" Ivan said sarcastically while I laughed at his statement

"I bet it's uranium grade payload" I said to Ivanov as I drive around the crowded streets

"I bet my Pop-tart it's Plutonium grade warhead" Ivan said to me as he show me boxes of pop-tart in the Ambulance cabinet making me laugh.

As we reach the hospital we could see that all the patient are being moved into the bunker under the hospital.

"safety behind 4 meter thickness of concrete" I said to Ivan sarcastically while he laughed at my sarcasm.

A bunch of soldiers walks to our direction and stared at us.

"you, yeah you help us with the evacuation" the soldier said as he points at Ivan.

"hey.. don't be rude comrade.. I am on your side here.." Ivan said feeling annoyed.

"you deliver this supply to the town hall shelter ASAP" the soldier said to me while pointing at a pile of boxes labelled as medical supply, I nod and started to load the supply into the ambulance.

"bye Ivan the not so terrible" I said with a small chuckle.

"oy.. stop calling me that comrade.. oh.. and uhh.. see you later at the bunker comrade.." Ivanov said feeling annoyed in a good way.

After loading in the supply the soldier then gave me a hazmat suit, an NBC gas mask, a level IV bullet proof vest and a stun gun.

Then they gave me that "THOSE SUPPLY BETTER GET THERE OR ELSE" stare, which really scared the shit out of me.

As I left the hospital to deliver the supply I can see chaos around the streets, people breaking into stores and looting almost anything when all of the sudden a group of people swarmed my ambulance making me panicked, I grabbed my standard issue stun gun as a guy break into the ambulance front window trying to grab on to my steering wheel.

I quickly reacted to my instinct and stun gunned the guy on the face while driving 60Km/h.

"Oh my god I think I just ran over the guy" I said to myself while driving in a high speed.

"Comrade Steve! you better get back here *static* the ICBM is closing in *static*" Ivan shouted to me from the radio as I saw a bright light coming from behind the ambulance.

As I looked on the mirror I can see a huge mushroom cloud and a massive shock wave coming to my direction and a writing that say "object in mirror are closer than they appear".

I panicked after reading that and started to scream and swear at the same time "ohh sshhhiii..." I screamed.

Suddenly an anomaly appeared in front of the ambulance and everything was bright that all I can see was just bright white light and just when I thought things couldn't get worse I was falling from the sky in my ambulance I screamed and sweared at the same time again.

"whaaatt thhee fff.." I shouted as I fall from the sky in my ambulance.

The ambulance landed on the ground with a loud metallic sound, surprisingly most of the ambulance are still intact and the scenery seems to change into a wide open field and they all kinda looked like cartoon.

My mouth was wide open and I was pretty muchly still in shock after the crash, then a sound came in front of the ambulance it sounded like a girl moaning in pain.

I quickly realized that I just hitted someone while the ambulance was falling but it was definitely not the guy that I ran over, I was desperately trying to open the ambulance door but I couldn't feel my finger.

"Damn Hazmat suit" I yelled at myself, but I managed to open the door "great it only took me a couple of minute just to open a god damn door" I yelled at myself.

I tried to walk but I kept falling down so I crawled my way there on all 4.

"damn leg can't even walk properly" I said to myself, as I got to the front of the ambulance I can see an unconscious blue cyan pony with a rainbow coloured mane.

"woah I hitted a horse, ohh.. and it's still alive.. I guess that's not a road kill yet then.." I said to myself while looking at the unconscious bleeding pony.

"Now where's that girl" I said to myself looking around.

"that's odd I thought I heard a girl moaning in pain" I whispered to myself.

"well I guess I better get this poor little pony some medical attention, I hitted that poor pony anyway... though it's just an animal I still have to save it” I said to myself.

So I dragged the pony to the back of the ambulance and put it on the stretcher and started to monitor his heart rate as I begin to clean the wound, after cleaning the pony wound I started to check for any broken bone.

"what the hell.. I know radiation can mutate living things but.. I didn't know it was this fast.." I said to myself as I examine the pony wing.

"heh.. horse with wings.. I wonder what Ivan would think about that if I told him that.." I said to myself as I imagine what Ivan would say.

"hahaha!! he'll probably said yeah and pigs fly" I said to myself while laughing alone.

None of the pony bone is broken so I started to bandage his wound.

“This female pony kinda looks familiar.. Where did I see it before and why is my vision still looks like cartoon... God I hope the radioactive nuclear fallout won’t mutate me like this poor pony” I said to myself frowning at my own statement.

I went to the ambulance front seat and used the two way radio to contact Ivan who just warned me about the ICBM but it seems that I'm out of range, and somehow that nuclear shock wave threw me someplace so far away from the city, so I decided to look around a bit but I could only see that I'm surrounded by trees and somehow I kept feeling itches on my back.

I was so afraid that it might be the radiation so I'm afraid to take off my hazmat suit and gas mask.

I somehow found it easier to walk on all 4 instead of on 2 leg which is creeping me out and I still can’t feel my god damn fingers and then I realized that I don’t have any fingers anymore.

I screamed so loud that the pony woke up and screamed at me after looking at me screaming (Which only made me scream louder to see a screaming pony, it’s horrible seriously, a screaming pony screaming in front of your face while you are screaming about your own missing body parts? That could kill a guy with a heart attack.).

“Oh my gosh! an Alien SPY!!” The pony screamed.

“Oh my god! A Talking mutated horse!!” I said to myself out loud and all of the sudden the blue cyan pony tried to attacked me but ended up screaming in pain from the wound.

“you... you can talk?” I asked the pony.

“of course I can you dumbass!” the pony said aggressively.

“What are you? who are you? Where did you come from?” I asked curiously.

“my name is Rainbow Dash, I'm a Pegasus what are you blind or something? and I come from Cloudsdale but I live in Ponyville” answered the Pegasus pony.

“Pegasus? Rainbow Dash? Cloudsdale and Ponyville? but this could only mean one thing... I'm in that kids show for kids that I hated the most!” I thought to myself and my brain was all like Nooooooooooo!!!!

“Why did you hit me? and who are you? and most important of all what are you?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“I didn’t hit you on purpose.. I was literally falling from the sky... my name is Steve and I'm a human” I said to Rainbow Dash answering her questions.

Rainbow dash looked at me with curiosity and asked “uhh... what’s a human Steve?”

I face palmed myself

“Of course they don’t know what’s a human you dumb ass.. cause they never seen one..” I thought to my self “Well I guess I could show you what I looked like” I said to Rainbow dash calmly, so I took off my gas mask and my hazmat suit off.

The Pegasus pony looked at me with his mouth gaping wide open and starting to blush “that can’t be a good reaction” I thought to myself and suddenly realizing.

“OH MY GOD I'M A PONY!” I yelled at my self, I had a white coloured fur and a grey mane and apparently I had wings that is covered by my Paramedic uniform “No wonder that felt itchy cause I had wings on my back” I thought to myself.

“Woah you smelled like somepony just barfed at you, no offense” Rainbow dash said to me.

“umm.. cause maybe someone did barfed at me” I said to the Pegasus pony nervously which made her laughs.

“Great I got barfed by a drunk man, failed my medical school, got myself nuked, ended up watching some kid show for the last 3 years and got stuck in it and now a pony is laughing at my misery... At least it couldn't get any worse” I thought to myself.

“So are you okay? Do you need me to help you get back to Ponyville? maybe I can get you to the hospital there” I asked Rainbow Dash who is still giving me that weird stare.

“Let me guess your wings hurt?” I asked Rainbow Dash who seems to be shocked to know that.

“How did you know my wings hurt?” asked Rainbow Dash.

“Umm.. first of all my job is a paramedic and second of all you failed to tackled me and ended up screaming in pain as soon as you tried to flap your wing to charge me” I said to Rainbow Dash calmly.

“Here let me help you” I said to Rainbow Dash.

So I massaged her wing muscle slowly and all of the sudden Rainbow Dash started to have that weird looks of his on her face which almost made me laugh.

“Here let me carry you” I said to Rainbow Dash which made her angry.

“I can walk just fine by myself” She said to me feeling insulted but she ended up falling down.

“As you were saying?” I asked Rainbow Dash.

“Fine.. go ahead and carry me” She said to me, as I carried Rainbow Dash I asked her which way is to Ponyville she answered that it’s West from here, so as I carried her and she started to ask all sort of question to me but then she ended up sleeping behind my back which I think is cute.

As I reached Ponyville I woke Rainbow Dash up she seems to be embarrassed to be sleeping behind somepony’s back but I told her that  it's okay that she’s probably exhausted after the accident.

Rainbow Dash asked to walk from here to Ponyville, so I helped her walk to the hospital and as soon as we got into the hospital a doctor came to us and asked if Rainbow Dash needed some medical attention, so I told the doctor what’s wrong with his wing, hooves, and the wounds on her body.

The doctor seems to be amazed by my medical knowledge he asked me if I was a doctor but I said to the doctor that I'm just a paramedic.

“So what’s a Paramedic?” the doctor asked.

“well a paramedic is a health care professional that works in emergency medical situation, my job is to provide advanced levels of care for medical emergency and trauma" I said to the doctor.

"Interesting... Would you like to work here? I know that you already have a job but we really need more doctor right now" the doctor said to me.

"well since I'm stuck here I might as well get a job here, I mean why not?" I thought to myself.

"Actually Doc I don't have any job at the moment so I'd like to accept your offer" I said to the doctor with a smile.

"great I'll show you around the hospital, nurse! Take miss Rainbow Dash here to her room" the doctor said to the nurse as he pointed at an empty room.

The doctor then showed me around the hospital.

"wow no interview and a instant job as a doctor, this place is awesome" I thought to myself as I followed the doctor around the hospital.

"so doc when can I start" I asked the doctor.

"You can start today, oh and your pay is 150 bits per day since you're still new here" the doctor said to me.

"like I said we really needed more doctor, I mean this hospital may seem that they had a lot of doctor and staff but they're mostly still an apprentice and they would most likely faint on the sight of blood" the doctor said frowning.

"I see.." I said calmly.

the doctor then introduced me to all of the hospital staff then I told him that he haven't introduced me to all the staff which made him even more confused.

"You haven't told me your name yet doc" I said to him which made him embarrassed.

"Oh I'm sorry, uhh.. my name is doctor Red Cross" Red Cross said with a smile.

"nice to meet you doc" I said to the doctor as I shook his hoof.

"Doctor Red Cross one of the patient heart stopped beating when he lost one of his slipper!" said a nurse as she took Red Cross to the patient room.

I ran as fast as I could trying to catch up with Red Cross.

"oh my god he's having a cardiac arrest" I yelled as loud as I could trying to inform doctor red cross about the patient situation which only seems to make him panicked even more, so I decided to take matter into my own hand (hoof) and use my AED (Automated External Defibrillator) that I had on my Bullet proof vest and gave the patient a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) the apprentice mouth was wide open as if they were going to faint.

It only took 2 time use of the defibrillator to start the patient heart which made me glad I don't have to give this stallion more CPR.

"you brought him back to live by kissing the dead stallion? are you using a black magic?" asked an apprentice which made me facehoof myself.

"no I was doing a CPR which stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation back where I came from and I didn't used black magic I was using a defibrillator" I said to the apprentice annoyed.

"but you're a stallion and you're kissing a stallion" another apprentice said.

"oh for god sake are you saying it's wrong to save a pony with a same gender as yours?" I said to the apprentice almost in a loud tone.

"That's kinda gross" said another apprentice.

"WELL MAYBE YOU SHOULD WORK IN A SISSY BOUTIQUE THEN, SINCE IT'S GROSS TO SAVE ANOTHER PONY LIFE" I yelled at all of the apprentices which made them ashamed for asking me such question.

"please calm down Steve they're still an apprentice.. they don't understand much.." Doctor Red Cross said to me trying to calm me down.

so I calmed down and apologized to all of the apprentices for my behaviour "I know that this job is disgusting but heck look at me I already got barfed at" I said to the apprentices which cheers them up.

the patient thanked me so many time and he decided to give me some bits for saving him from the reaper pony.

So I decided to visit Rainbow Dash room to see how is she doing, when I went to her room I saw her reading a book called "Daring Do: The mystery of the Temple of Doom" Rainbow Dash seems to be reading the book seriously that she didn't noticed my presence at all.

so I decided to sneak up on her, I stood right next to her and read a few pages of the book as she flips to the next page.

"That is an interesting story Rainbow Dash" I said to Rainbow Dash which made her jump out of her bed in panic.

"Oh hi there Steve.. I didn't noticed you were here" she said embarrassedly.

"no need to get up for me" I said to her laughing as she blushed.

"so how are you doing? Do you need anything? Should I tell any of your friends that you're in the Hospital?" I asked Rainbow Dash.

"Do you even know who my friends is? You barely even know who I am when I met you" Rainbow Dash said to me with doubt.

"uhh.. Your friend Twilight the egghead lives in the library, your friend Apple Jack lives at the farm, Pinkie Pie lives in Sugar Cube Corner, the shy Pegasus Fluttershy lives near the forest and that fancy unicorn Rarity lives in the carrousel boutique" I said to Rainbow Dash casually.

"How did you know my friend? I thought we just met" Rainbow Dash asked me.

"Damn it Steve you idiot" I thought to myself.

"uhh.. because you're the famous Pegasus who did the sonic Rainboom? you are kinda famous.." I said to Rainbow Dash trying to not sound suspicious.

"oh yeah.. I guess I am pretty famous, no wonder you know who my friend is" Rainbow dash said agreeing to my statement.

So I went to see Rainbow Dash friend and inform them that now she's being treated in the Hospital and bought some cupcakes then I went back to tell Rainbow Dash that his friend is coming over to visit her.

"hey Rainbow Dash your friends will be here soon, I brought you some cupcakes since I know you hate hospital food" I said to Rainbow Dash and giving him his cupcakes.

"wow you know awfully a lot about me, thanks Ste... umm.. Steve not to offend you or anything but you do have a weird name" Rainbow Dash said to me.

"uhh.. I guess it is pretty weird.. I guess you can call me Bright Wind" I said to Rainbow Dash "that's a pretty awesome name but not as awesome as mine" she said with a smile as she starts to eat his cupcakes.

"Hey uhh.. Rainbow Dash how's your wing" I asked her.

"it's okay I guess it only hurt if when I flapped it to much" Rainbow Dash answered.

"let me massage it again for you" I said to him casually.

"uhh that's okay Stev.. I mean Bright Wind that won't be necessary" Rainbow Dash said while blushing.

"I insist it is my job to take care of the patient and apparently you are my patient" I said to Rainbow Dash while massaging her, she then makes that funny look (face) again which almost made laugh again when I massaged his sensitive part of his wing.

"would you like to stay in my place? I mean you don't have a place to live here yet right?" Rainbow Dash asked with a slight blush on her cheeks.

"well that's nice of you Rainbow Dash but.. I don't want to be a pain on the back" I said with a small smile as I continue to massaged her.

"ungh.. pain in the back? are you kidding? your massage is telling me a different kind of story" Rainbow Dash said with a laugh as the unexpected happened.

"Hey Rainbow Dash we came to visit you as soon.. as we ca.." Twilight said stopping when she saw me massaging him.

"uhh it's not what it looks like" Rainbow Dash said to Twilight panicking and all his friends mouth went wide open in disbelief as I got confused.

"What does this look like I'm doing, I'm treating my patient" I said to Twilight who seems to agree to my statement.

"ohh sorry Rainbow Dash I wasn't thinking very clearly today... to many books ahahaa..." Twilight said embarrassedly.

"would you like some medical attention then?" I asked Twilight which made her blush.

"uhh.. no no that won't be necessary doc" Twilight answered "I guess I should leave you alone to talk to your friends here" I said to Rainbow Dash while walking away.

"okay thanks Bright Wind" Rainbow Dash shouted.

So I went to check on the other patient as soon as my work is done I gave lecture to the apprentice on how to be a good doctor and how to maintain a hospital, then I went to Doctor Red Cross to collect my payment of 150 bits and said my good night to Rainbow Dash.
