"Ugh, what a stressful day," Sunset cursed under her breath as she flung her body up against the main doors of Canterlot High, swinging them open.
A multitude of students crambled out of the glass doors, heading home after a long day of classes. The buzzing of hyperactive energy filled the front yard as some students were erupting the place with chats and laughter. Sunset Shimmer couldn't be bothered to chill amongst the loud teenagers, so she decided to hop into her car and exit the school's parking lot in such a flash. Sunset's right foot slammed on the gas. Her eyes glared on the road in front of her. Her sharp nails would tap against the wheel of the vehicle to help calm her anger down.
For some reason today, she was sent to the Principal Celestia's office only because she backlashed to her Spanish teacher. Sunset wasn't in the mood to begin with. First, she was late to school this morning because her car needed air in the tire. Next, she failed her Pre-Calculus exam by one point only because she forgot how to simplify rational expressions. Then, her bag got soaked because her Arizona sweet tea bottle spilled all inside her bag. Just reminiscing over all the terrible events that happened today just made Sunset forcably slam her foot harder on the gas pedal.
She calmly slowed down trying hard not to get a speed ticket because she knew that would only make her day worse than it already was. Sunset quickly drove to Flash's house as fast as possible since he was the only one to calm her down at such state. Upon seeing the 3-story hickory building, she carefully parked near the driveway. She climbed out of the car slamming the door in the process. Her stomps pounded the concrete stairs accumulating her anger even more. Her index finger pressed the doorbell and before she let go, she began to well up with tears as the sound of the door creaked open.
"Hey Sunset! How was your-"
Before the tall boy could finish his question, his hurting friend began to sob uncontrollably on his chest. Taken back to see Sunset in such a horrid state, Flash walked inside, closed his front door and led Sunset to the couch. Sunset couldn't stop crying and at some point she didn't know why. Feelings of pain, anger, dispair, and embarrassment controlled over emotions causing her to sob louder. Flash placed his hand over Sunset's back, gently stroking it as Sunset continued to cry in his chest.
"Another stressful day huh?" He calmly asked hearing Sunset's soft sobs.
The crimson and marigold haired teen nodded her head in reply stopping herself from crying too much. After a couple of minutes, the living room became silent as stars.
"S-Sorry for crying like some big baby," Sunset hiccuped, wiping the tears from her eyes. A splash of carnation pink smothered her cheeks making Sunset realize that she broke down in front of her closest friend. Sunset hated crying in front of people, especially her dearest friends because she found herself weak if she did.
"Hey hey, no need to apologize," Flash smiled. "You know I'm always here for you."
Sunset stopped crying but laid her head on Flash's lap avoiding eye contact with him. She still felt humiliated for breaking down and she probably would never forgive herself for doing such things, especially since Flash meant a lot to her. Not to mention the fact that they used to date. Sunset felt ashamed for dating Flash only to make her become popular at Canterlot High. She gritted her teeth as hard as she can, gripping the leather from the couch.
"Flash... I'm so so sorry,"
"For what?"
"For all the times I've been using you!"
Sunset let out a battle cry, shedding more tears to stream down from her face like a waterfall. Flash held Sunset close to her but Sunset slightly shoved herself off.
"I was so stupid back then! Trying to use you just so I can become more popular. Even if you were to take me back, I wouldn't say yes because I feel ashamed. All you ever tried to be was a good friend to me, even when we were dating. You're such an angel. And somehow you got paired up with a demon like me. Guess Twilight's crown was showing me who I really was on the inside,"
"Why are you so emotional today??" Sunset thought to herself before Flash caressed her cheek, making Sunset blush.
"Sunset, I don't know how many times I'm going to say it, but you're not a demon! Yes, you were back at the fall formal, but we let go of that moment, haven't we not? I'm pretty sure we all know that the past you wasn't the best because you never had true friends that cared for you and loved you. And look at you today! You have people that love you and would die for you because of how truly amazing you are! We all love you because you've grown so much from that moment. Seeing you in this moment, using your magic to fight against Equestrian Magic is simply beautiful you know why? Because as a phoenix you'll rise from the ashes. And look at you, you have risen from the ashes."
Sunset's jade pupils gleamed into Flash's sapphires trying to comprehend the words he spoke unto her. A crimson blush formed onto their faces as Sunset laid her head on his chest.
"Thanks Flash, I really needed to hear this today haha,"
"Anytime Sunset," He chuckled as he planted a kiss on Sunset's forehead. Flash quickly got up from the couch and grabbed his guitar. "How 'bout some guitar lessons to cheer you up?"
"I'd really like that!"
The two young teenagers got up from their cuddling position. Flash placed his navy blue and red guitar on his lap gently playing the strings in one accord. Sunset watched in awe, grinning from ear to ear seeing Flash happily stroke the guitar strings.
"I'm glad I have someone like you to teach me how to play the guitar~"

Flash cupped Sunset's hands and helped her strim the right notes to a song that they used to play together. Having Flash's hands on top of her own sent Sunset to blush profusely. Her attention drew away from the guitar for a moment making her accidentally stroke the wrong string.
"Oh, uh oops!" Sunset smiled sheepishly, causing the blush on her cheeks to turn a darker shade of red.
"Hahaha no worries, try it again,"
And that's how the rest of the evening went. The two lovebirds gently wrapping their wings around one another to conceal their love. All Sunset needed was a hero. And that is what she got~
