Chapter 3: introductionsView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 3: introductionsAs the two men approached the town, they both realised something was wrong. The houses were build out of wood and thatch rather than brick and cement. The two approached cautiously with their weapons raised. Before they entered the town they were stopped by two pony looking creatures that appeared talking to each other. The creatures them selves looked normal to earth standards but unlike the standard earth pony these two had wings. The men went to walk past the creatures but were shocked when the creatures gasped at the sight of them. Without thinking Raptor raised and pointed his hand gun, but Wolf did the opposite. Wolf realised that the creatures were more focused on their weaponry than what the men were doing. One of the creatures cautiously steped forward towards Raptor, as it got closer it started to slowly raise a hoof towards him. Raptor unsure of what was happening look towards his last living squad mate to realise that he had lowered his weapon, once he saw this he did the same lowering his side arm and putting it back on his hip. Wolf stepped closer towards the creature and moved one of his hands towards the creatures hoof. Once the hoof met the hand the creature started moving their hoof up and down, Wolf did the same. After they stopped one of the ponys said "Derpy are you sure this is a good idea?" The creature known as Derpy replied "if these creatures are friendly I'm sure Twilight would want to see them." This caused Wolf to step back as he was shocked to hear two pony looking creatures to speak. Raptor looked shocked and intrigued, he finally lowered side arm back into its holster. Raptor lowered himself to the level of the creatures and moved his hand toward them. He said with a friendly tone "my name is Raptor and this is my friend Wolf, who are you?" The creature replied "my name is Derpy Hooves and my friend is called Fluttershy, would you like to meet our friend Twilight Sparkle?" Raptor replied "yes we would love to meet your friend, where are they?" Without thinking twice Derpy said "I can show you, follow me" before she turned around and started walking into the town. The town was full of ponys and more of the winged creatures, some even had horns. As the marines followed Derpy they were met with scared and confused faces from the inhabitants of the town. Raptor noticed this and said to Wolf "I dont think they have seen humans before." Wolf replied "wouldn't you be scared and confused if a pony came into to your hometown armed to the teeth?" It wasn't long before they reached a large oak tree which looked like some had hollowed it out and was living in it. Derpy turned around and said "were hear, I'll go Introduce you to Twilight." They approached a of red door at the base of the tree, the door itself looked like a stable door, with two parts to open. Derpy knocked loudly on the doors while shouting "Twilight you should probably see this." Inside they could hear a loud bang followed by the sound of hooves quickly moving on a wooden floor. Before the men could ask what was going on the door burst open to reveal a purple pony with a horn on its head. As the men were about to introduce themselves Derpy said "this is Raptor and Wolf, me and Fluttershy found them just outside the town." As she was saying this Twilight started to look at Raptor and Wolf trying to figure out what they were. Twilight then asked "would you like to come inside?" The men seeing no other option went inside the large oak tree, they were greeted on the other side by the side of a large library. "So what are you?" Twilight asked the marines. Wolf responded "we are humans from what appears to be either another planet or another dimension." Twilight then asked "how did you get here?" Raptor replied "we were flying a helicopter attempting to avoid being shot down when another helicopter crashed into us causing us to crash into a building, that's all we can remember." Twilight took in every word of the soldier's story still trying to think of anything that could bring a large chuck of mass across the galaxy, but another dimension would require an even larger amount of magical power. She turned towards her many bookshelves and retrieved a handful of book on the powerful magic users in equstria but found nothing, it would take all all the strongest magic users in equstria and more to transport something that big that far. She put this aside for now and turned back to the 2 men "so do you two have facial features or is it just those masks?" Asked Twilight curious of the appearance of the marines. "Oh sorry" Wolf replied "I'm so used to wearing this I sometimes forget I have it on." Wolf removed his boonie hat and balaclava to reveal a 26 year old man with shaggy hair and a 5 o'clock shadow. Raptor removed the last of his flight gear revealing a 28 year old man with a clean shave and pony tail. "Would you mind if we ask you a few questions?" asked Wolf wanting to know more about the strange lands he find himself in. "Sure" replied "you can ask your questions as I show you around the rest of the town, while we're doing that I could talk to the mayor about getting you two a house to stay in." Hearing this shocked the men with how easily they had gained the pony's trust. As they were going through the town Wolf started asking his questions. "So where are we?" he asked quickly receiving a response "you're in equstria, the town you're currently in is called Ponyville, most of the inhabitants are ponys, pegasia and unicorns." He then asked a second question "why do you trust us, I mean we haven't really given you a reason?" Yet again receiving a quick reply "you have been truthful with every question we have asked you." satisfied with this answer he asked his final question "have you ever encountered humans or any creature like us before?" This question took a bit longer to get an answer but she responded with "no we haven't encountered creatures like you before." As she answered they reached edge of the town. off in the distance is the everfree forest, but the men weren't paying attention to what Twilight was saying, they were more focused on what was staring at them from the edge of the forest. "Twilight, what are those?" Raptor asked only to get a shocked expression for the purple unicorn. She answered "Timberwolves" visibly trembling. It was like the timber wolves were waiting for someone to recognise them so they could start there rapid approach. "Run!" Twilight shouted, but the plea fell on deaf ears. Instead of fleeing like Twilight was hoping, the marines grabbed their side arms and raised them in the direction of the approaching wolves. As soon as they were in range they opened fire on the wooden wolves, shattering a few of them within the first few shots. As the wolves got closer and closer the men reached for their CQC weapons, Raptor drew a standard combat knife with an engraving of a horse on the blade, Wolf drew a large kukri blade from his hip. The small amount of timber wolves left from constant fire didn't stand a chance against the well trained marines. Whilst looking at the wreckage from the fight that noticed something strange on the leftover bark. It was an insignia of another species, the Griffons. Twilight taking in what has just happened looked at the piece of back leftover from the Timberwolves and a look of horror came over her face. Before the men could see the horrified look on Twilight's face, she took her mind off of what see just saw by asking "so, do you two still want that house?" Wolf responded "as I'm sure Raptor would love to have a nice place to sleep in, I'm going to set up camp just inside of the forest." Twilight looked shocked "why in the name of celestia would you want to live in the Everfree forest?" She asked in utter confusion. Wolf quickly responded "I've been living a barracks for far too long so I'm going to stay in the Everfree so that I can get a chance to camp out for a little bit, I can also act as a scout in case more Timberwolves decided that it would be a good idea to attempt to attack the town again, if mine and Raptor's radios still work I can easily send a warning to the town." Wolf started to head towards the everfree before being stopped by Twilight "if you're sure you want to stay out there I can only warn you that there is much bigger creatures than Timberwolves out in that forest." Wolf took a minute to make his decision before replying "I know that there's bigger creatures out there, but it's more reason for me to act as a scout, if something that big is close to town it would be great for you to have a warning." Knowing she couldn't stop Wolf Twilight let him go and disappear back into the everfree. She turned back to Raptor "so, are you still interested in that house?" she asked. Raptor without thinking twice replied "there is no way I'm going back into that forest without a good reason." So the pair set out to see the mayor of ponyville.
Chapter 4: incoming attackView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 4: incoming attackIt has been nearly 6 month since the men arrived in equstria, and for what it was worth, the two troopers were settling in nicely, Raptor set up his house within a matter of days, his house was pretty normal when you looked at the second floor, but he had converted the first floor into a workshop, in this workshop he worked on ponyville's electrical elements and the local farmers ploughs and carts, Wolf on the other hand set up his den on the edge of the everfree forest. Wolf's den included a hole leading into a small bedroom, a set of logs forming a perimeter around the small encampment a small fire pit in the centre acted as the main light source for the area. Doing the occasional wonder into Ponyville gave Wolf enough jobs, bits, and materials for the den. Everytime he entered the town he felt like he was being watched, whenever he got this feeling his recon skills kicked in causing whoever was watching him to quickly loose him. Little did he know that it was pinkie pie hoping to set up a surprise party for the newcomer. Everytime this happened pinkie became really upset, thinking the man was trying to avoid her. When Wolf entered the town he had five goals, check on Raptor, turn in any jobs he had finished, start new jobs, return and collect book about equstria from Twilight and collect fabrics from rarity. Almost everything was normal, except the fabrics, no one knew what they were for except for Wolf. We he got back to his den, he would collect his equipment and start working on the jobs he had collected. Once he was finished with these tasks he used the fabrics from rarity to create a ghilli suit. This would make some of his jobs, especially pest control, easier to complete. The days he didn't spend working he started working for the princesses, informing celestia of any threats, on the other hand Luna sent group after group of fresh soldiers to help train, with Luna only recently coming back to the throne she had little to no skilled scouts other than Wolf, so every night when he had fresh trainees, he would take them deeper into the forest training them to use their survival instincts to avoid any threats and to find their own way back out of the everfree forest. During the time that the marines were settling down they fell into a weekly routine, same thing different day, it was an odd fee but they liked it, they no longer needed to worry about being reassigned to a different base. This routine was rarely broken until everything changed for the worst. For Wolf it started like an average day, run into town and turning in any jobs he had finished, it was when he went back into the woods that he made a startling discovery, at first he only heard voices.the creatures In question were Griffons, they were still speaking English luckily so Wolf could understand what they were saying. "when are we going to start this attack?" Asked one of the Griffons "Yea we could have destroyed those puny ponys by now" said another. By this time the leader of the group piped up "we were ordered to attack at nightfall so that's what were going to do." Wolf had heard enough and started sprinting back to town. Without thinking twice he ran straight to Twilight's library and started pounding on the door. "TWILIGHT, I NEED YOUR HELP!" The man bellowed. Seconds later she opened the door. "Wolf, what is it?" She asked in a confused tone. "I need to get a message to the princesses, something dangerous is coming this way." He replied. Upon hearing this she shouted for spike to come downstairs with some parchment. "What do you need to write." He asked looking at Twilight. "Dear princess celestia, I am writing to you today to inform you of some bad news, a griffon attack force is headed towards Ponyville to destroy it, we require assistance to help protect the town, yours faithfully Wolf." He said to spike so that he could write it down. Upon hearing this a seance of dread came across the room, but spike wrote down the message and sent it. Within a matter of seconds a reply came back. It read "dear Wolf, thank you for informing us of this situation, we will be sending our best guards to help you, however, although I know that you are not afraid of a fight I must ask you and Lewis to protect the ponys as they evacuate to Canterlot, as much as we want to protect Ponyville we cannot risk your lives there, we hope that you will leave for Canterlot soon, yours faithfully princess Celestia." "So what does it say" Twilight asked out of fear. "Gather everypony in town, were evacuating to Canterlot." He replied before leaving. But Wolf didn't intend to leave ponyville for it to be destroyed by the Griffons. As he ran back to his camp he decided to stop at Raptor's workshop to see if he would evacuate or if he would stand beside him in the fight for their home. "Raptor, you in" Wolf asked as he knocked on the door. Raptor quickly answered and said " hey man, what brings you to town, want to come in" "Yea thanks, but I come with some dire news" Wolf said as he entered the workshop. "So what's wrong" Raptor asked "Ponyville is evacuating to Canterlot" Wolf replied Annoyed Raptor asked "why, what is going on" Wolf replies with a grim look on his face "A Griffon attack force is coming at dusk to destroy ponyville" "So we're just going to evacuate" Raptor asked getting angrier by the second "Well that's what the princesses want" Wolf replied "but that's not what I'm going to do, I'm going fight those fucks, and I'm hoping I could get your help" "So, what's your plan" Raptor asked "I need you to go to the crash site and grab everyone's equipment, Weapons, ammo and equipment" Wolf said as a smile appeared on his face Raptor looked confused "So, what are you going to do" "I'm going to try and find Rhino's equipment, hopefully that Hydra didn't eat them" he stated his smile fading "Well then, let's get started" Raptor stated, already excited to get back into the fight The two men ran into the everfree heading in separate ways to gather what they needed. "Before we go any further let's go see if the ponies are ready to evacuate" Wolf said turning towards the door The sun had started to lower in the distant as the to men walked towards town hall. When they entered they were surrounded by scared ponies. They went up to Twilight who was getting asked question after question, each one getting harder to answer without causing panic. "Twilight, I want to make an announcement, it should calm them down" Raptor stated Twilight just nodded and got her friends to help quiet everypony down Raptor started the announcement "you may not want to here what I have to say, bit every word of it is true, you are to evacuate to Canterlot, this is by the order of the princesses, I'm sorry if you dont want to leave you're home but me and Wolf have a plan" Wolf continued "Me and Raptor are going to stay in ponyville to fend off the oncoming attackers so that everypony still has a home to come back to, we are only staying because we are trained in combat, we will not be accompanying to Canterlot but the princesses are sending the royal guards to make sur that you get there safe, you should leave before dusk so that you are not ambushed by the attackers, good luck to you all" Before Wolf could turn around one of the ponys shouted to Wolf They said "can we stay here?" Wolf responded "we are not forcing you to leave but it would be safer for you all" Another pony shouted "I am not leaving my home because some bully wants to destroy our town" Wolf responded "if you want to stay here go and return to your homes, if you want to leave stay in here and listen to Twilight and follow here and her friends to Canterlot" Upon hearing this everypony left the town hall to return home Twilight turned to the men and asked "what are you doing, if you're disobeying the princesses orders you will get everypony in trouble." Wolf turned back to Twilight and said "if something happens I will take the fall for it, but right now we are on the verge of war with the Griffons" Hearing this Twilight left with her friends to make sure everypony made it home safely. At this point the two men were preparing their weapons for what could be a long fight. Instead of taking his rifle Wolf grabbed the M416 and the ballistic shield, Raptor on the other hand grabbed his P90 and the .44 magnum. After loading their weapons it was nearly dusk. They headed towards the front of the town so that they could easily see the oncoming Griffons. Moments later a loud horn filled the valley, the noise echoed of the trees and houses, if the ponies weren't scared before they were now. Seconds after the horn was sounded the Griffons started their assault, the first ones to appear were met with swift deaths as the men opened fire. Although the men had underestimated how fast the Griffons would reach the town they weren't unprepared, Wolf stowed his rifle and drew his kukri and shield. Raptor stuck with his P90 as he knew it was much more effective at closer ranges. As soon as they got in range one of the Griffons flew into the air and attempted to dive bomb Wolf only to be met by a blade in the throat. As Wolf fought off the Griffons one at a time Raptor turned groups of them into swiss cheese, ridling them with bullets without a second thought. Upon seeing this the leader of the Attackers screeched for the remaining Griffons to retreat, as they were retreating Wolf drew his rifle and fired at them taking down one more and wounding another. "I killed more than you" Raptor said mockingly "Well, next time you have a pile of Griffons on top of you I'll remember that" Wolf replied with a more upbeat tone The men had won the battle but decided to move the bodies before anyone came out of their house to see who had won the brawl. Raptor feeling cocky decided to attempt to pick up one of the Griffon corpses, but once he managed to pick up one of the opponent's corpses his legs gave in under the sheer weight of all of his equipment plus a large birdlike creature. This caused Wolf to burst out laughing, watching his best friend struggle to crawl out of the situation he had put himself in.
Chapter 5: Royal weddingView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 5: Royal weddingAs Raptor struggled to get out from under the Griffon corpse Wolf pick up one of the large creatures up and threw it over his shoulders and grabbed a second one by the feathers on the back of its neck and dragged it in the direction of the everfree forest. When he returned he found Raptor was still struggling to get out from beneath the Griffon. Deciding to help his friend out of his predicament, grabbing him by his forearms and pulled him out from under the Griffon. Raptor attempted to catch his breath after his lungs felt like they were being crushed under the corpse. Once the area had nearly been cleared Wolf turned to Raptor, who had done little to nothing and said "I carried more than you" with a large grin on his face. "Haha, very funny" he replied before asking "how can you even lift that much with your kit on?" Wolf responded "While you were eating snacks when at base, I was at the gym making sure i could carry your fat ass back to an evac point" "Alright, no need to get so personal" he replied "Ok, this is the last one, big fucker too, mind giving me a hand" Wolf asked looking at Raptor "Yeah sure, but we should be quick, those royal guards should be here soon" he replied while picking up the other end of the corpse. When they returned they were met with a hostile presence "Halt, this town is under the protection of the royal guard, leave or be arrested" said the leader of the group "Well you guys have been doing a shit job protecting this place recently havn't you, since two civilians had to do your job" Wolf replied The guard looked shocked and asked "do you mean two ponies fought off a large Griffon attack force?" "No you halfwit, we did" Wolf replied getting angrier "Yea right, and i am the Luna princess" replied the guard Like magic Twilight appeared behind them and said "its true, they were the ones who protected us from the Griffons" The guard looked at her then looked back to the men, one of which was covered in blood and said in a fearful tone "my apologies" as he stepped aside As the men walked through the shoddy blockade at the edge of town the guard asked "wait, is one of you called Wolf?" "Yea me, why" he replied The guard responded "Princess Celestia said you would probably protect the town and asked me to give you this" as the stallion handed the man a letter The letter read "Dear Wolf, if you are reading this then you have disobeyed a direct order, but I am thankful that you did. I you did not protect the town Canterlot would not have had enough houses for the evacuees. For protecting Ponyville I am inviting you and Raptor to my niece Caydance's wedding that is taking place. I ask you to come as guests but I would like you to act as extra guards. I ask you to accompany my student Twilight and her friends when they come tomorrow. I hope to see you there yours faithfully Princess Celestia" "Twilight?" Wolf asked trying to get the unicorns attention "Yes Wolf" she responded "We have been invited to the royal wedding and we have been asked to go with you when you go tomorrow, anything we should know before we leave?" He asked "Well my brother, Shining Armour is the groom and he is captain of the royal guard" she responded As they talked more in depth, Raptor grabbed the rest of the equipment and took it back to his workshop. The following day the group met up at the train station, Raptor greeted them all as Wolf talked to Twilight about the layout of the castle. Once the train arrived they all boarded it together, as the ponies sat down in the seats the two men sat down in aisle as they were too tall for the seats. As the group of ponies talked to each other Wolf noticed the pinkmone was giving him dirty looks every now and again. After a while of this happening he went over and introduced himself to the group. "Hello, my name is Wolf" he said One of the ponies responded "howdy Wolf, I'm Applejack and this is Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and" Before she could finish Wolf replied "I recognise you, Fluttershy wasn't it" "Yes, nice to see you again" she replied in a soft voice Before anything else could be said Pinkie Pie Shouted "WHY HAVE YOU BEEN AVOIDING ME!" Wolf looked confused and asked "what do you mean?" Pinkie responded "EVERYTIME YOU HAVE CAME INTO TOWN I HAVE TRIED TO TALK TO YOU BUT YOU KEEP AVOIDING ME!" Wolf started to understand "everytime I have came into town I always had a feeling of being watched, because of my training I always take this as a bad sign so I hide, I'm so sorry if this has upset you" Pinkie had started to cry "I always try to set up a party for you but I can never find you to invite you" "Didnt Twilight tell you where my home is, I live just inside of the Everfree Forest" Wolf said Just has they had finished their conversation they arrived at the train station in Canterlot and met with a heavy guard presence. As they exited the train on of the guards had stepped forward and started talking to Twilight and her friends. Once they were finished talking the stallion walked towards them He said "I am Shining Armour, captain of the royal guard, you two must be Raptor and Wolf" Wolf stepped forward and said "affirmative sir, Corporal Wolf 202nd infantry battalion, at your service sir" Shining Armour stepped back and said "whoa, no need to be so formal, you are here as guests unless you are needed" Wolf replied "With all due respect sir, I would like to start acting as a guard now, to make up for the ones in Ponyville" "Ok then, let's see what you can do" he responded leading Wolf and two other guards to a large open field Once in a good position he said "ok take that apple and deal with it in anyway you see fit" Wolf grabbed the apple, placed it on a tree stump and returned to Shining Armour and said "you might want to cover your ears" With a loud bang the apple was destroyed by the rifle shot, one of the guard decided to be cocky towards the man holding the deadly weapon and said "Nice, his fruit killing skills are remarkable, we definitely need someone like this on the team" Wolf had an idea "Could I borrow your helmet please" he asked with a grin on his face The guardspony handed over his helmet and Wolf placed it on the Same stump as before, the pony looked cocky and said "I'm sooo worried" as a loud bang went off making their ears ring Before they could ask what happened Wolf handed the Guard his mangled helmet back and said "talk to me like that again, and you best hope that your head's not in this" Shining Armour laughed as they started to walk back towards the castle "So when do I start" Wolf asked still grinning from what he had just done "Well, you will have to speak with the princesses about joining full time, but for now go to the tallest tower and notify us of any movement" Shining Armour replied "Sir yes sir" Wolf replied As the stallion headed back to see his fiancee, Wolf headed to the highest point to provide overwatch on the area. It didnt take long for Wolf to spot movement on the forest edge, he looked through his scope but was unable to see anything, he looked down at the forest edge, finger ready to pull the trigger, then he realised something, he had his PLD, although it was usually used to mark enemy vehicles it had thermal optics, meaning he could see if there was any heat signatures in the forest. He looked through and saw a handful of ponies, except something was odd, their horns were jagged instead of the usual strait ones. He looked down towards the ponies that were currently on guard and realised something else, the heat signatures of the other ponies were lighter through the PLD meaning they had a natural lower internal temperature. Knowing that Shining Armour would want to be briefed right away he ran back down the tall tower. Once he arrived in the main hall were everypony was gathered he heard Twilight say something about Caydance not acting like her usual self, as well as something about her putting an odd spell on Shining Armour, she was quickly shut down by the other patrons, who protected Caydance as she was "under alot of stress recently" and the odd spell was from the headaches Shining Armour had been experiencing since he put up a shield around Canterlot. Herring this Wolf looked through his PLD to see that Caydance had the same type of heat signature as the odd ponies inside of the forest. Twilight left the room in a huff, Wolf followed realising that she was right "Twilight, wait up I need to speak with you" he shouted "Why, so you can berate me like the others" she replied as tears ran down her face. "No Twilight, your right, Caydance isnt what she seems, I saw some unusual ponies through these goggles and they glowed lighter than the ponies that were on guard, when I heard you thought Caydance wasn't as she seemed and heard your reason unchecked through her the goggles and she had the same glow" Wolf stated looking worried "So then, what are we going to do" Twilight asked "I'll keep an eye on her, you check around for anything unusual" he replied before returning to the main hall When debriefing Shining Armour on what he knew he decided not to tell him about his fiancee, hoping to keep him from getting angrier from what Twilight had said to him. The rest of the night was calm although Wolf couldn't find Twilight anywhere, after a while he supposed she had just went to bed, as it was quite late at night. He decided to debrief Raptor on what he knew so that tomorrow they knew what to do.
Chapter 6: preparing for warView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 6: preparing for warWolf and Raptor were stood guard outside of the main hall as Twilight came up to them with another Caydance, who looked dirtier that the one currently at the ceremony. Wolf knew what he had to do, he drew his side arm and opened the main door. Twilight ran in attempting to expose the fake Caydance but everyone quickly shut her down as they thought she was trying to stop her brother from getting married. Wolf entered the room with his side arm aimed at the fake princess's head He said "Captain, back away from her, she is not who she seems." Shining replied "What do you think your doing threatening my fiancee" As he said this the real Caydance ran through the door along with Raptor and started trying to convince her fiance that he was stood next to a Changeling. Once the fake princess heard this she laughed, mocking the entirety of the royal family and revealed her true form, her real name was Queen Chrysalis. "She's beautiful" Raptor said lowering his weapon "Keep it in your pants mate, we have a job to do" Wolf replied The queen looked at Wolf and asked "I get why Twilight didn't trust me, but you, how did you find out that I wasn't real?" "You have the same heat signature as your minions on the edge of the forest" Wolf replied "Well it doesn't matter now, my subjects will feast upon this town, Shining lower the barriers" she barked at the stallion, who was now clearly mind controlling Seconds later thousands of changelings flooded the room, as princess Celestia started to fight with the queen. The other ponies did what they could against the changelings but it was no use, everytime one fell down they changed themselves to look like another pony, confusing them. The two men lowered their firearms so they did not risk killing one of their allies. The fight didnt last very long, once some of the changelings left the main hall and headed for the rest of the town princess Celestia used a powerful spell forcing all the changelings out of the kingdom with a blinding flash of light. "Ahh, my eyes, it's like someone just let off a flash bang right in front of me" Raptor said whilst rubbing his eyes Wolf on the other hand was not too bothered, preferring to talk to the princesses about what had just happened and what he knew. Whilst there he also brought up,the fact that two acts of war had happened in three days. He also brought up how his skills would be useful in the Lunar guard. Princess Luna saw that there was no way she would be able to turn down an asset who was offering himself to help. During this conversation Raptor brought up the fact that he would be able to assist the solar guard, as he saw it was the least he could do after equestria took them in. Before anything else could be said about the now finished changeling attack the roar of a large cargo plane was heard before a load crash in the distance. Wolf and Raptor ran out of the castle, Shining Armour followed with a squadron of ponies along with the Mane six. There were flames in the forest where the plane had crashed, but luckily the fuel tank had not been damaged on impact. As they approached the wreckage they noticed movement inside, Wolf flung a fist up signalling for the group to stop, once the two men had preped their weapons they carefully crept inside. The plane had been carrying large containers, but one of them was missing, but before they could open the rest of the containers to find out what exactly the plane was carrying five changelings dropped down from the roof, only to be met with a swift end. It was clear now that the changelings had taken the missing container, but to even grasp what was in it they would have to open the rest. Wolf and Raptor searched the plane for a manifest bit to no avail, so instead they grabbed a pair of crowbars and pried open one of the wooden crates. When it opened Wolf couldnt hold back a cheer of glee, it was a 50 caliber sniper rifle along with a large amount of ammo. The next crate was filled with a large Amount of ammunition ranging from 9mm to 7.62 NATO. By this point it was clear that this was an army resupply plane, which was probably being sent to resupply the same war Wolf and Raptor fought in. The more crates they opened the more ordnance they had, by the end they had open 10 crate holding G36C carbines, M4A1 assault rifles and many other assorted rifles along with more ammo to accommodate. Wolf turned to Shining Armour and asked "How many unicorns are in the guard?" Shining replied "Way too many to count, why do you ask?" "Because with this many weapons we should be able to provide most of them a rifle" Wolf responded Shining looked confused and asked "but nopony will be able to use these weapons" "That's why me and Raptor are willing to train them" he replied with a sharp grin on his face Shining was still confused when his sister asked "but why will we need to train them with these weapons, we haven't fought a war in centuries ago, since then we have resolved every problem diplomatically" Wolf looked back at the fresh changeling corpses and said "we were already on the verge of war with the Griffons before today, but now there is a very slim chance that anypony will be able to back down, as the other faction will see it as a sign of weakness and attack" Twilight and her brother shared a look of fear before she asked "so why do you want to fight?" Wolf responded with a glum look on his face "I dont want to fight, i only joined the corps so that i could protect my country, but now me and Raptor are the only ones who can provide adequate training to help you finish this war swiftly" The group all looked at each other and realised that there was no avoiding conflict. The pegasi of the group, including the ones in the guard, used their magic to move the boxes out of the plane, Wolf decided to make it easier on the group by grabbing the 50.cal sniper and put the ammo in his pack, he was the only person who knew how to use the rifle, let alone fired one. Raptor on the other hand had picked up one of the smaller boxes and carried it back to the castle. Once the group returned they found the princesses who were already planning for war. The group filled them in on what they had found and Wolf warned the princesses that if the missing crate contained firearms the ponies armour would do little to protect them. Putting this aside for now princess Luna took the group to a room that would act as a firearm storage area until a proper armoury could be made. The group returned to the makeshift war room, which was only a map of equestria on a table, and started laying down plans for training for the firearms, protection for the smaller towns and an actual chain in command for the now formed army's. The three princesses would still have their personal guard but would they would now be much smaller so that their army's could be larger. Although Shining Armour was against the idea two of the princesses would be leading the fight leaving Caydance in charge of the kingdom in their absence Celestia would lead her solar army with her second in command Raptor during the day. They would have brightly coloured battle armour to hopefully strike fear into the opponents. Luna would lead her army of the night after dusk with her second in command Wolf. They would don dark camouflaged armour so that they would easily ambush any opposition. The two army's led completely different strategies based solely on the princesses second in command, despite this fact the army would stick together unless they needed to separate. During this time the mane 6 would be living their normal lives to the best of their ability and trying to maintain peace in ponyville. The group decided that they would hold off on training the ponies for use of firearms as they saw it to be a nuclear option if needed. Although they were on the verge of war, it was still princess Candace's wedding so they went through with the wedding, hoping it would cheer the ponies up, which it did. At the end the group decided to take a picture together, so that even if they all get separated, they would remember each other Although plans were only just being laid, war was on the horizon and nopony could stop it.
Chapter 7: Stealth OpView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 7: Stealth OpThe group were about to disperse before Twilight asked a valid question "What if the princesses are required back here in Canterlot, they cant just abandon the war, and what about guards?" She asked Wolf replied "if the princesses are needed back here me and Raptor will order the armies to hold the area as we escort the princesses back to Canterlot" Twilight seemed satisfied by his answer as now she knew that the princesses would he safe. The group headed off to do their own requirements, Wolf headed to the Armoury so that he could fill his backpack with ammo and equipment including Suppressors, 2 hand held radios, a box of flares and a flashlight. Raptor headed back to his room so that he could go to sleep. Twilight and her friend headed to Canterlot library determined to figure out a weakness to the changelings. Shining Armour headed to the barracks to gather the troops and to make sure that they were combat ready. Two hours later the group joined back up in the war room to plan what to threat to deal with first when suddenly a Royal guard came in screaming about how they had lost contact with all the other towns except for ponyville, he also stated that there was another Griffon attack force headed towards Canterlot but currently they were set up in a small village and were taking all the ponies hostage. Luna looked at Wolf hoping that he would have a plan, which he already did "Back on earth me and Raptor were from a place called England, we were part of an elite team known as the SAS, during this time we were part of a secret anti terror team, this team was set up to snuff out terrorist groups before they could become a large enough threat for the civilians to panic, to help with this we were trained for stealth operations so that if we had to deal with a terrorist group in Britain we could deal with it without it being in the news, the smartest thing you could do in a stealth operation was to deal with the hostile forces quickly" Wolf stated "So what does this have to do with Griffon taking our citizens hostage" Celestia asked "Well the terrorists would normally threaten to execute one of the hostages after so long, so we had to act fast, I think you should send me and Raptor in to deal with this attack force at nightfall and you two come with us with a counter attack team incase things go wrong" he replied The group looked at each other expecting somepony to put in another idea, but nopony had anything better than Wolf's plan. The group separated once again only to grab their battle equipment, everypony was shocked when Wolf only came back with his M9 beretta and a few mags as well as a set of night vision goggles, whereas Raptor came back with two rifles and a flashlight. "If your bring all of that equipment, you can wait to be backup" Wolf said sternly "Why, it's not that much" Raptor replied defensively "Your fat arse is enough to get us caught, why do you think I'm going in with only a pistol" Wolf replied After he heard that Raptor shut up, knowing he wasn't going to win this argument. As the sun began to lower the group headed out to the town reaching it just as dusk began. Everypony had a stern look on their faces, but the soldiers knew these ponies were terrified. As the night became darker Wolf gave his radio relay to Raptor so that they could stay in contact. The man disappeared into the darkness of the night. As Wolf got to the end of the village Wolf said over the radio "This is Wolf, going dark" "What does going dark mean Raptor?" Luna asked "Excuse my language princess, but it means every Griffon in that village is fucked" he replied Wolf knew that this attack force had at least 30 Griffons in it, due to this he was going to kill each one he saw The first one he came across was alone, he snuck up on the Griffon, drew his kukri and placed it on the birds neck before asking quietly "where are the ponies?" "They're in the house in the centre of the village" the Griffon replied trembling Without hesitation Wolf slit the Griffon's neck. The next building contained four Griffons in a dinning room, Wolf acted quickly by grabbing the closest Griffon to act as a shield as he unloaded a bullet per Griffon, before the last Griffon could call for help Wolf quickly dispatched of it with a bullet to the brain. Another small building, bit this one was different, it had ten sleeping Griffons. Wolf slowly walked through the room eliminating all of them. Know there was only 3 buildings left other than the one he already knew the ponies were in. He was hoping to clear the village before letting the ponies out so that they wouldn't be attacked. He swept two more buildings killing another 13 Griffons before he heard a struggle in the next building. Raptor was getting worried, he knew he should have went with his squad mate but he had too much equipment, but he hadn't heard anything over the radio for far too long, he had to go and check it out. He dropped half of his equipment so that he would be lighter. He grabbed his sidearm and flashlight and ran for the village as fast as he could. He had gotten to a building that hadn't been opened from the side he arrived at, so he slowly opened the door only to be pounced on. Wolf opened the door to the last building to see a Griffon on top of his unconscious squad mate, before he could fire hismweapon the Griffon ripped Raptor's arm off of his body. This aggravated Wolf, this wasn't just a standard operation anymore, now it was personal. He dropped his pistol and rushed toward the Griffon, he knocked the bird like creature onto its stomach and climbed onto of it. Hellbent on inflicting lots of pain Wolf started to slowly rip out the Griffon's feathers causing it to scream in pain. Then he started slamming the Griffons head off the floor quickly killing it. Wolf grabbed the radio of of his chest and spoke into it trying to keep calm"the village is clear, the ponies are in the building in the centre" After that he dropped the radio and grabbed his sidearm and holstered it before picking his friend up, he kicked open the door and started racing to the camp. The princesses where waiting for the two men eager to hear about the ponies conditioned, but everything fell silent. The two princesses gasped as Wolf ran strait towards them carrying a man who now only had one arm. He reached the and cleared the closest table before putting Raptor on it. He looked towards the princesses and said "You have to help him" Celestia looked back at him with a dark look upon her face "theres nothing we can do" Not even a second went by before Wolf replied "Bullshit, you mean to tell me that In a world where ponies can talk and magic is real, you cant rapidly heal somepony" Celestia was shocked by the way he had spoken to her, even when Wolf was attacked by Royal guard in the everfree forest he never spoke like this to her. She replied "We have healing magic, nut it only works on ponies" Wolf looked down at his comrade and said "Please try" he looked back at Celestia with his eyes full of tears "He's the last thing I have" Celestia looked at Luna and said "it will take alot a magic, but we are willing to try something, there is a spell that turns ponies into Alicorns, this is meant for the highest of ponies but it might save him, but he will never be human again" Wolf replied "Anything" The princesses looked at each other before both of them starting charging their horns full of magic. While this was happening Wolf was keeping heavy pressure on where Raptors arm used to be. The to Alicorns faced each other then let off a beam of light at each other, once the beam collided with one another the two sisters started moving their heads towards Raptor. Once the beam collided with him a blinding flash of light emerged knocking Wolf out. The spell had done something but to what avail? On the table where Raptor once was a brown large stalion, with a green mane and horn. But something was wrong, the spell was supposed to turn him into an Alicorn but he had no wings. Wolf stood up and shook his head to get his hair out of his eyes, he was both shocked and ecstatic at the sight of the stallion on the table. He went to walk over to the stallion before he was hit with an enormous amount of pain coming from his back. The man yelled in pain as the flesh from his back tore and bones snapped, something was emerging. Through the Kevlar plating on his back came two large black wings, but the outer side was kevlar instead of feathers. The man struggled to stand back up dew to the sudden change of centre mass, but pulled himself up once he heard Raptor gasp for breath. He hugged the stallion tightly before letting go with a face of anger. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING FOLLOWING ME YOU MUPPET" he bellowed But the stallion did not reply, he was far too interested in his new body. When he finally realised that there was other ponies around him he replied "what happened" Wolf walked him through what had occurred, leaving out the part were he brutalised the Griffon, and that as much as he wanted he could not become human again. Raptor laughed, he was happy that he knew that his friend would not abandon him for his mistake. He then looked at the wings that had sprouted put from his back, the princesses assumed because that Wolf was holding onto Raptor at the time of his transformation some of the magic must have went into him. Raptor attempted to stand up only to be met with his hooves rapidly moving about, the more he tried to sort it out the more his legs would move more. In the end he lied back down, the princesses decided to,take the two men back to Canterlot so that Raptor could start to understand his new body and Wolf could start to use his knew appendages.
Chapter 8: Back To BasicsView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 8: Back To BasicsThe trip back to Canterlot felt longer than the journey to the small village, between the two princesses arguing about making more houses incase of refugees and Raptor trying to walk every 100 feet, Wolf had little time to think of the bigger picture, why are these attacks going on now? It didnt help that when Wolf was walking his wings would suddenly extend and catch a heavy breeze forcing him to the ground. But one good thing came from the wings Wolf know had, although no pony knew how it happened, one side of the wings were covered in kevlar. Everypony speculated on how this was possible but Wolf just assumed that as the wings were growing out of his back the hit the kevlar on his back and matched the strength of it so that they could break through the back plating, nevertheless Wolf was now thoroughly protected from behind and if he could learn how to use the wings properly, he would be able to protect his front and anypony around him. When they returned Shining Armour asked "Where's Raptor?" The group stood aside to reveal the brown stallion, Shining Armour was shocked. The group briefed him quickly as they had other matters to attend to, mainly teaching a new stallion how to walk and use magic and to teach Wolf to fly. Shining Armour decided to take Raptor as he knew he wouldn't be able to help Wolf, but instead of the princesses wanting to teach Wolf Princess Celestia decided to send a request to Twilight and her friends to come back to Canterlot as soon as they could, in the mean time Wolf decided to work on modifying his weapons as before Raptor used to, Wolf headed up to his bunk room with a MP5 and a W1200 shotgun with alot of spare parts and spent the next three hours tinkering. Raptor spent the next three hours stumbling over his own hooves, but after alot of hard work later he managed to walk around the large room without stumbling, then proceeded to try to start jogging, then running, jumping, sprinting. He learned fast, but he still had alot to learn about his new body, like using his horn to use magic, usually a pony would go through a stage where they could no longer control their magic, but Raptor was lucky, the blinding flash of light that forced Wolf back was all of Raptors new power flowing through him. Raptor was learning basic telekinesis when Wolf came in to check his progress and to show Raptor the work he had done. Raptor was impressed with the work Wolf had done to the W1200, he not only managed to find a longer barrel for the weapon but he had also modified the receiver so that it could do more damage and so that it would hold more shells, as well as modifying the trigger guard into a full hand guard like a lever action rifle. Wolf wanted to know if Raptor was fit to,leave for a little while so that he could do the first test fire with him. Shining Armour agreed as he wanted to go get some lunch. Wolf took Raptor to a large open area with a handful of tree trunks, he then proceeded to place some cans on three of the stumps. He walked back to Raptor, loading six shells into the shotgun. He stood next to his friend and raised the weapon and prepared to fire. He pulled the pump of the shotgun back and pushed it back to its original position, he squeezed the trigger. BANG. The pellets from the shell scattered into the cans on one of the stumps. with confidence Wolf repeated the same actions as before and blew the other cans off of the last two stumps. Wolf was more than ecstatic at the sight of his first heavily modified weapon worked perfectly. Although Raptor was upset that he wouldn't be able to do this action he was happy for his friend. Before they could walk back to the castle Twilight and her friends came around the corner ready for battle. Twilight saw Raptor and asked what had happened, but Raptor didnt want to reply so Wolf told Twilight that he was modifying one of his weapons and this pony wanted see what it could do. Twilight went to Introduce herself to the large stallion, suprisingly not asking about his size. But before she could Raptor surprised her by saying "theres no need to intoduce yourself Twilight Sparkle as I already knew you and you know me" Twilight recoiled when she heard the stallion's voice and asked "Raptor, is that you?" He replied "yep, I would tell what happened but it's a very long story and I'm sure that princess Celestia will tell you, but for now your here for something else, aren't you" She picked herself back up and replied "yes, Princess Celestia said that a foal was unable to fly" Wolf chimed in "somepony has wings but cant fly" as he turned around revealing his kevlar plated wings The group gasped and Twilight realised what had happened. Instead of asking questions she pulled out a book on how pegasi fly and gave it to Wolf. He quickly read through the book and once he had finished it he placed the book on the floor and proceeded to slowly flap his wings, the more he tried the faster he got, eventually he gained enough speed to lift himself of of the floor. The group clapped their hooves together at this sight. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy joined him in the air to help him move in other directions. Wolf learned fast as he flew to the top of the castle and back. He went to land but came in too fast, to save himself from breaking his legs when he got about a foot off of the ground he tucked in his wings and tilted forwards, and when he hit the ground he rolled forward, miraculously avoiding any injury. Instead of taking it easy Wolf decided to take flight again but this time he had his shotgun, he loaded in some shells slowly, so that he could focus on flying. He managed to land properly and walked back over to the stumps and proceeded to replace the cans and took flight again. He went around and flew over the group, once he saw the targets he fired three time, but only managed to hit one set. He tried again but this time he shot one set then twisted to around so that he could shoot the second set, on this pass of the targets he managed to get both of the last targets. He landed and asked "did I do well" Rainbow dash replied "that was awesome, do it again, please" Much to Rainbow dash's disappointment he declined as he wanted to place his equipment back into his bunk so that he could practice, then Raptor said that they should go for an adventure around the outside of Canterlot, this would allow Wolf to keep practising and allow Raptor to get used to long treks in his new form. The group headed back up towards the castle when they ran into Shining Armour, they offered to let him come with them which he accepted, as he saw it could be the last time he would be able to see his sister before the war started. They got back to the castle and everypony headed to separate areas to do their own thing as Wolf pit his equipment back. They met up about five minutes later and started their journey, Raptor told Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and Pinkie about what had about but only told them that he was gravely wounded, in the mean time Wolf raced Rainbow Dash for a while until he admitted defeat, to which Rainbow Dash bragged about. The group approached a large opening to which the group wanted to stop, out of nowhere Pinkie Pie pulled out a picnic basket filled with goodies, Wolf was about to asked where she had got it from when the group told him that he should never question what Pinkie Pie does. A loud snap came from the forest edge before a barrage of arrows flew at the group, everypony trembled and couldn't move, in a flash Wolf jumped infront of the with his back to the forest and spread his wings. Wolf's wings stopped the arrows that would have hit the group, he tucked in his wings and ran towards the forest. When he arrived the assailants where gone only leaving their primitive bows behind. He returned to the group and told them that there were no tracks to follow. After the attack the group swiftly headed back into Canterlot, Wolf and the pegasi of the group took to the sky wo that they could provide overwatch. It wasn't long before they got to the gates, but they found more arrows planted in the wall surrounding the gate. The group headed into town and went to inform the princesses on what had happened.
Chapter 9: Out of the frying pan...View OnlineA different war to fightChapter 9: Out of the frying pan...As the group headed back up to the castle Wolf had a reoccurring thought, what was shooting those arrows. The more the man thought on it the more it made less sense, in the end he decided to focus on the task at hand and inform the princesses what has happened. As they entered the castle the two sisters were already arguing over who could have caused such a quick barrage of arrows. They greeted the group and asked their thoughts on the situation, they turned to Wolf and he informed them that there was no tracks but the leaves on the ground were not disturbed. The princesses mustered extra forces, including some of their personal guard to help watch the walls. As night rapidly approached Wolf took watch over the kingdom as Luna had not slept since the royal wedding, this was Wolf's offering so that see could finally get some rest. Wolf headed up to the balcony with his sniper rifle in one hand and a guitar in the other. Wolf had found the guitar In his room when he was setting up a makeshift workshop and saw that it was prime time he got some practice. The night was calm, calm enough for Wolf to finally gather his thoughts and gave him some time to relax. He spent this time strumming the guitar without a care in the world, often singing or humming along to the melody. As he was humming along to a melody Fluttershy came out onto the balcony "Um, excuse me?" she asked This took Wolf by surprise as he fell back on the chair he was sitting on, he got back up to his feet and asked "what are you doing out here, its late" She replied with tears filling her eye as she talked "I had a nightmare, usually princess Luna deals with nightmares as they happen, I was going to stay with one of the other mares but I didnt want to wake them up, that's when I heard your singing, I hate to ask this but, could I stay up here with you, I just dont feel safe in that room on my own" Wolf contemplated it In his head and saw no risk in having the timid mare stay there with him so he replied "you can stay up here with me, but let's get your bedsheets, it's going to be a cold night" The two quickly ran back to Fluttershy's room and grabbed her bedsheets, Wolf ran back to his room to collect his bedsheets so that the mare wouldn't have to sleep on the cold hard stone of the balcony. The mare lied down and started to fall asleep, Wolf picked up his guitar and started playing a calming melody so that she would feel at ease. Within minutes Fluttershy was fast asleep. The rest of the night was uneventful other than when it started to rain. Wolf didnt mind the cold rain but he knew it would awaken the sleeping pony from her slumber so he lifted one of his wings above where she was sleeping. The cold rain ran down Wolf's wing and off of the balcony. For once in his life Wolf thought he had done the right thing, letting the mare sleep near him, everything in his life up to that point had felt wrong or it was something he was ordered to do, but for once he had thought he had done the right thing from his own initiative. At dawn princess Celestia took over watch for a while, until the ponies would awaken and she would return to her usual duties. Wolf was intent on keeping watch but Celestia knew she would be able to keep the peace for a few hours She stated "Wolf, I appreciate that you took watch for the night so that my sister could sleep, but you should sleep also, it is a big day tomorrow" Wolf knew better than to argue with the princess so he left the balcony, but not before picking up the mare who was still asleep on the floor. He carried Fluttershy back to her room and left most of his bedsheets with her so that he wouldn't wake her. Once he returned to his bunk he attempted to remove his kevlar vest only to find that because of his wings the vest was stuck The kevlar vest was only front and back protection so he decided to cut the thin pieces of fabric at the sides of his waist. He then lifted the front side of the vest over his head and slowly started to bend the plate on his back inward in the hopes that the holes his wings came out of would match up and he would be able to lift it off of him. To his surprise the plan actually worked but know Wolf was with out frontal protection. Either way he decided to get some sleep. Wolf was woken up by Twilight who frantically said "you need to get up, something's attacking the town and has made their way inside" Hearing this Wolf shot up out of bed and grabbed his shirt and rifle and ran out the door. He put his shirt on whilst moving down the corridor, he wanted to get into the town and stop the attack quickly. Once they were outside they saw over fifty Griffons inside the town, upon seeing this Wolf ran towards the Armoury and told Twilight to gather everypony and keep them safe She refused and said "and what exactly are you going to do, get slaughtered by a massive amount of Griffons" Wolf turned around and said "Raptor can barely walk straight let alone shoot, the guard ponies need help, and unless anyone else can fight i'll gunit alone" Twilight just remained silent as they reached the Armoury. Wolf looked around the room and grabbed an M4A1 assault rifle and lots of ammo to accompany it and walked back out. Twilight decided to listen to Wolf's words and grab everypony she could and hide. As Wolf stepped back outside and walked down the street he only saw carnage, even he was disgusted at what he saw. There were half eaten ponies littering the streets, this angered Wolf more and more, so much that when he saw the first Griffon he unloaded an entire mag into it. After he got a closer look at the Griffon he heard a commotion in the next street across, it sounded like a large group of ponies screaming in fear. Wolf ran as fast as he could around the corner, as he turned he saw a Griffon go to pounce onto a royal guard, Wolf had a flashback to when Raptor lost his arm and fired instantly, hitting the large bird. The guard pony thankes Wolf before telling him to send any survivors to Canterlot hospital as some of the guard gathered their to stop the griffons scavenging the flesh from those who were already wounded. Wolf heard a squawk from above and looked up to see more Griffons closing in so he started to fire his assault rifle upward hitting a good number of them to fall to the ground with a sickening thud. From their Wolf went street to street mercilessly gunnung down any Griffon he saw and directing any surviving ponies to the hospital telling them that it should be safe Once he had cleared a good chunk of the town Wolf headed towards the front gate, assuming that the Griffons were sending more heavily armed foot soldiers through the gate. Once there he crouched behind a makeshift barricade the guards had made. Things weren't too bad at the front gate, twelve of the guard ponies including three of Celestia's solar guard and two of Luna's bat ponies. The four unicorns of the group were atop of the gates ramparts using bows and makeshift arrows, whereas the ponies on the ground level were using spears attached to their armor or swords in their mouths. The gate still stood thankfully, but that wouldn't last for too long as a large Griffon force was approaching with a battering ram, and a large group of archers all of which were ready to fire upon anything that moved. Wolf cautioned the guard on the ramparts to hide until he gave them a signal, as he and the rest of the ponies took the gates locking bar off, as this would allow them to suprise the griffons on the other side. As the ram slammed into the door causing it to fly open Wolf opened fire, giving the rampart archers the signal to open fire. This caught the Griffons off guard, but not for long. The guard around Wolf began to charge towards the oncoming attackers before a barrage of arrows came through the gate Wolf instinctively turned around and lifted his wings to protect himself. When he turned back around he saw that almost all of the once courageous ponies dead, littered with arrows, leaving the others scrambling for cover. Wolf climbed over the makeshift barriers the ponies had made and dropped his rifle. Wolf had to give them a distaction and he knew one good way to get their attention....
Chapter 10: ...and into the fireView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 10: ...and into the fireWolf walked towards the Griffons he cracked his knuckles and drew his kukri, Wolf was not one to back down from a fight, especially when it ment avenging those who had fallen to protect others. Suddenly Wolf was grabbed from behind and dropped his kukri, a Griffon was smart enough to realise the trap that he was being led into and stayed behind. Upon being grabbed Wolf grabbed his pistol off of his hip and raised it to his right shoulder, once there he shot himself to get free of the Griffons grasp. Upon being released Wolf fell to the ground where he grabed his kukri. The Griffon that uad grabbed Wolf was angry and lunged at him, however even though Wolf could now only feel and move one arm he flung his arm up and impaled the Griffon. Wolf clambered back to his feet and grabbed his pistol and started stumbling towards the Griffons his vision slowly faded as the pain started to overwhelm him, he knew if ue could cause the Griffons to flee he would be safe if he passed out. Knowing this he holstered his pistol and grabbed one of his flares, ignited it, and threw it in the middle of the Griffon group. As to be expected the Griffons saw the flames of the flare and scattered. His vision was still fading, the best course of action for him now was to try and get back to the castle. He ripped off his sleeve and wrapped it around his shoulder to slow the blood loss. He stumbled back through the town, he didnt want to use his wings incase they effected the wound. He only just made it into the castle before he fell to the ground Before he blacked out he shouted "ITS SAFE, WILL SOMEPONY GET ME A DOCTOR BEFORE I BLA-" Raptor heard this shouting and said "its safe but something has happened to Wolf, we need to find him" The group all agreed that they should help the man so they quickly ran down the corridor to find him. By the time they found him blood was leaking from his makeshift bamdage, Twilight lifted Wolf onto the back of Raptor before they ran towards the hospital, once they arrived all the ponies started pointing and whispering amongst themselves. Before the group got to the front desk they were stopped by a group of ponies. "Why are you bringing that thing in here, its propally behind what has just happened to the town" said a large stallion, who was raising his head to attempt to look taller than the alicorn sized Raptor Twilight was going to handle the situation before Raptor shouted "THIS MAN JUST SAVED ALL OF YOU, YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE MAN WHO HAS BEEN TRAINING THE LUNA GUARD FOR THE PAST SIX MONTHS" Before the argument could go on any further the two princesses came into the lobby, amd quickly arranged a room for Wolf to be treated. The two sisters were ready to use the same spell they had used on Raptor less than a week ago incase his vital signs dropped. It was a long two months in the hospital before there was any change in his condition. Wolf woke up and looked around the room to see three of his friends around him, Twilight was talking to Raptor about the humans anatomy and Pinkie Pie was sat in the corner next to her confetti cannon waiting for him to wake up so she could throw a party. Before Wolf opened his eyes he said "Why in hell did you lie me on my back" Everypony gasped is shock before giving Wolf a hug, after they had held tight for at least a minute Raptor asked "Who shot you" Wolf looked at him and replied "long story short, i got grabbed from behind and couldn't move, my only choise was to shot my self in the shoulder to wound the Griffon that had hold of me" Raptor laughed once he heard Wolf's story and said "Of course, no one can kill the Wolf but the Wolf" Wolf sat up and stretched his arms and wings and noticed that his only shirt was gone, he didnt ask where it had gone as he already knew that the doctors would have had to cut the shirt off of him so that they could get to the wound. Twilight was about to leave the room when pinkie pie asked "what does your cutie mark mean?" Wolf was confused at first until he realised that she was talking about his tattoo, Which was a pack of darkly coloured wolves, he replied "its not a cutie mark, its called a tattoo, basically a drawing on my body, but it about the loyalty of a pack" Only seconds after Twilight left the room the rest of the group flooded in saying things like "we knew you would make it" and "you saved alot of lives" The group gathered around Wolf so tight he could barely breathe. Once the group seperated a lit bit the princesses thanked Wolf for what he had done, but there was still little time to rest as the draconequus known as Discord had escapes from his stone prison and was causing even more havok back in ponyville, Wolf looked at his shoulder to see only a little scar and that he could move his arm with no pain whatsoever. He accepted this task and was told to leave for ponyville in the morning. In the mean time princess Luna wanted to introduce him to the Lunar guard. They entered a dark room where the man could barely see. Luna brought some light to the room for Wolf to see at least two dozen ponies hanging upside down from the ceiling. Upon the light hotting these ponies they lowered themselves to the ground and lined up into groups of five, with the leaders upfront. Princess Luna said "Wolf these are my four sergeants Spearhead, Dark Lance, Arrow Bolt and Fluff Ball" Wolf held back a laugh before saying "pleasure to meet you, im Corporal Wolf" The four Sargeants introduced themselves properly one at a time, some more polite than others. The conversations were over quickly as Wolf wanted to finish some business in Canterlot, but first he needed a shirt. Luckily Rarity was leaving for ponyville the next day with the rest of the group so she was able to quickly make a shirt for him while he packed his bag. As Wolf knew this was only a short trip back to ponyville he only packed ammo and tools, he also wanted to grab another bag so that he could collect more of his possessions from his camp. Once he had finished his business he retired to his bunk and quickly fell to sleep, although it was not peaceful Wolf found himself in a dark room, surrounded by his fallen squad mates calling his name, this occurred the entire night, nomatter how many times he woke up. This nightmare only worsened by the hour, leaving Wolf with short bursts of sleep only to be awoken in a puddle of his own sweat. By morning Wolf had only gotten about two hours of sleep before being woken by Raptor. "Get up man, I'll buy you breakfast before you leave" he said, making sure Wolf was actually awake Wolf groaned in agreement before he rolled out of bed and got dressed, pulling his new black shirt over his wing, the shirt itself was nothing special, but it had a spell on it that would allow it to stretch about 2 meters in all directions, and it also had two small holes on the back of it to allow his wings to leave the shirt without having to cut a hole for them. As Wolf and Raptor walked through the town they noticed that there was a large group of ponies gathered around the train station, as they approached they realised it was a wave of refugees from ponyville, they had most likely fled in fear of the war and Discords appearance. They found Twilight and her friends were attempting to keep the peace before Wolf shouted that it would be a good idea to leave soon on hoof. Twilight and the group agreed, so they headed back towards the castle so that Twilight could collect the elements of harmony and so Wolf could grab his pack. Once there they informed Celestia about the large wave of refugees at the station before collecting what they needed. They said their goodbyes to their friends at Canterlot and set off towards Ponyville.
Chapter 11:The god of ChaosView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 11:The god of ChaosAs the group neared the town the scenery around them started to deform into mangled creatures, just observing this put everyone on edge, even Wolf was worried. The closer they got to the town the more chaotic it became like large carnivorous rabbits and houses sprouting legs and walking away, although these creatures could have easily killed the group they let them pass, either not understanding what was happening or they were still worried about their places on the foodchain. The entered the town to find the draconequus known as Discord sat on a throne of rubble. As the group approached the opened the box which contained the elements of harmony, which Discord noticed, and before any of them could put their elements on Discord created a large maze and threw the box into the centre of it. "BRING THEM BACK" Wolf demanded raising his sidearm Discord responded in a tone close to Wolf's "Or what, are you going to spray me with water" Wolf grinned before he responded "You sure you wanna find out" Discord was clearly confused and concerned about this question, wondering if the unknown creature infront of him had found a weakness not even he knew about before he responded "whatever do you mean, water has no effect on me, well other than make me a bit wet, but even then, i cant see how that would effect me" Wolf just smiled back at him before asking "how strong are your horns" Discord was again taken aback by this question so he replied "well their just standed bone marr..." Before he could finish his sentence Wolf shot his large horn before shouting "YA SEE WHAT YOUR MESSING WITH NOW" Discord snapped has fingers causing his horn to regrow before taking Wolfs pistol and putting it in the centre of the maze then said "now thats out of the way, who and what are you" Wolf plainly responded "i am Wolf, the only human being in Equestria and part of the Lunar Guard" "And why would a human be in the ponies guard" Discord asked snarkily Wolf simply replied "its better to have me as an asset than a threat" Discord turned to Twilight and asked "so, who are you" Twilight replied "i am Twilight Sparkle and these are my friends" Discord smile grew then he replied "Hello Twilight, we are going to play a game, if you make it to the centre of this maze you get your elements back, but if any of you leave, you will never get them back" Twilight simple nodded letting Discord continue "and there is no tolerance for magic or flying until you leave" Upon finishing his sentence Discord once again snapped his fingers, this time it removed the wings and horns off the the group. Once the commotion about this ended the group entered the maze and immediately got separated. "CAN ANYONE HERE ME" Wolf shouted but hearing nothing but his own echo Not wanting to waste anymore time Wolf drew his Kukri and slowly started making his way through the maze. It wasn't long before he found himself in a large clearing with multiple entrances. As he stepped forward the ground around his started to turn into sand, his clothes turned into a dessert camouflage, and he found his sniper rifle at his hip. He instinctively drew the rifle and started to move forward when he began to hear gunshots. Wolf remembered this day so clearly, although he wanted to forget it forever. It was an abandoned prison turned terrorist fortress, so the army sent in Wolf's squad on information of an unguarded entrance. But when the rest of Wolf's squad entered, leaving Wolf outside with his sniper as overwatch, they were ambushed and subsequently captured. Wolf knew nothing of this until one of his squad mates was dragged outside and executed, shot in the back like a rabid dog. Wolf didnt take kindly to that, he place three rounds into the executioner, first in the head, the second and third in the torso as the lifeless corpse tumbled to the ground. "No, this is not happening again, this happend three years ago" Wolf said as he continued down the dusty road As Wolf picked himself up from his concealed position he began to hear screams from the prison. He began to mutter to himself "this isnt real, Discords playing tricks" Seconds later Discord appeared infront of him and asked "Was it that obvious" Wolf ignored him as the maze quickly surrounded him again. Once his vision had recovered from the amount of odd movement around him he ran through one of the openings to find Twilight and the others. It took about two minutes before he caught up to the group, bit he was too late, as he noticed that Rainbow Dash was missing and everypony else looked grey. Once Twilight noticed him she explained what had happened, but she was still unsure of what happened to Rainbow Dash. It was like she heard her name being spoken, as the second the duo stopped talking about where to find her she flew across the sky leaving her signature trail behind. As they saw her fly away the group regained the missing appendages before Discord came to mock them. Discord appeared behind them and said "so tue element of loyalty leaves her friends behind, not so loyal is she" Wolf turned around, his pupils now blood red, and spoke in a lower tone, snarling every so often "if it wasnt for these girls here i would have already ripped you limb from limb, so take this victory now before i shove it up your arse" Discord knew Wolf was serious and hastily retreated back to his throne, leaving Wolf and Twilight the think of a plan. In the end Wolf flew upto follow Rainbow dash's trail, leaving Twilight to deal with the rest of her friends. Wolf flew for about five minutes before he found the blue pegasus perched on a cloud. To avoid her fleeing again Wolf grabbed from behind and held her tightly while they flew back towards ponyville. When Wolf returned he found that Twilight had somehow already restored all of her other friends, who now all seemed to realise what had happened, and was already preparing for Rainbow Dash's return. Upon arrival Wolf grabbed a long piece of rope and tide her up fo that she could not fly away. As he stepped away from the blue pegasus there was a blinding bright light. When Wolf opened his eyes he could see all of the interactions that made Rainbow Dash so loyal towards her friends, one of which was Wolf protecting them during the Griffons siege of Canterlot. The group returned to Discords throne and started to charge there magic to stop the draconequus. But discord was ready and prepared a magic bolt that would have killed one of the ponies. But Wolf flew up taking the blast, causing naught but pain and bruising to himself to make sure discord was put back into his stone prison. Once he was a statue again the group looked for a cart whilst Wolf wandered to his old camp to get the rest of his belongings. The group left for Canterlot once more as Applejack and Rainbow Dash dragged the heavy cart with the assistance of the now encumbered Wolf pushing from behind. Chapter 12: Wolf's DemonsView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 12: Wolf's DemonsAs the group returned to Canterlot they were met by a squad of Solar guard ponies who took the statue of Discord back to its place in the palace gardens. During this time Wolf remained silent, reflecting on how he snarled at Discord. Wolf already knew the angrier he became the more animalistic he would act. Before leaving Wolf turned to Twilight and said "i'm going up to my bunk for to clear my head, if i'm not out in a couple days come get me" Twilight nodded as Wolf left before turning back to the other mares, who had all decided to go get some doughnuts. Once Wolf returned to his bunk he closed all of the curtains, leaving nothing but darkness. Wolf carefully navigated his way to the centre of the the room before sitting down, crossing his legs and closed his eyes. After two days Twilight became worried and sought out Raptor, who was currently practising firing a submachine gun with magic. Twilight walked closer to the wingless alicorn and asked "have you seen Wolf lately?" Raptor replied "no, why whats happened?" Twilight quickly replied "nothing, just a couple of days ago he said if he didn't come out of his room after a few days to go get him, i was wondering if you had seen him" Raptor's face dropped before he asked in a panicked tone "has he been under any extreme stress lately?" Twilight responded "well, he did take a heavy blast of magic whilst we were fighting Discord" Upon hearing this Raptor ran buck up towards the castle and Twilight followed closely behind "Whats wrong" she asked frantically Raptor kept running but replied "Wolf's first squad was sent out on their first mission, he was their sniper support, they were doing well before the team was ambushed. Wolf chased down the the vehicles that were carrying his squadron in to a makeshift fortress. Wolf's squad fell one by one before Wolf was even able to infiltrate the place. By the time me and my team arrived everyone of the enemies forces were slaughtered, cut to pieces. We found Wolf in the corner of a cell, were he found his last squad mate. He never was the same after that day, at least before he came here. But since that day, every time Wolf is put under extreme stress he snaps, then after he would hide in his bunk to clear his mind" As the duo arrived to Wolfs bunk they burst threw the door to find Wolf, sat in the middle of the dark room, his wing fully extended, with objects all around the room floating in place and as the duo crept closer they realised his brown eyes were glowing and ue was emiting a dark red aura. Although they tried to pull Wolf out of his trance nothing worked, until Twilight remembered a spell that would allow her to enter people's minds. Raptor pleaded for her not to do it as he already knew the horror she would have to endure but she entered Wolf's mind. Once in Twilight quickly found Wolf's consciousness and attempted to pull him out, but not before seeing all of the unimaginable horrors that Wolf had been through, every last thing that brought wolf pain. As Wolf regained consciousness he saw Twilight in a heap on the floor, crying about everything she had just witnessed. Wolf quickly went over and hugged her tightly. As he hugged her Wolf softly whispered "i'm sorry you had to see that" Once Twilight had calmed down, the group left to get some food, rightly assuming that Wolf was starving. Whilst eating Wolf went further in depth about the day he had lost control and why he went into his room for so long. As night grew every closer Wolf, Raptor and the Mane six made plans to go to a restaurant that was the first to make drinks out of fermented apples. Both Wolf and Raptor knew wht that ment and were happy to try the first of Equestria's first alcoholic drink, butnthe mare's did not know what would happen when tuey drank a beverage made from fermented fruits as it was never attempted before, so they were excited to try the new drinks. The group also made an arrangement where if Wolf had one of the knew drinks he would have to go up on stage and sing. Wolf already knew that Fluttershy told her friends about the night on the balcony but he didnt mind, he was just wondering what to sing. As the group stood outside the restaurant, looking at the odd decor, they discussed the oncoming war with the Griffons and the Changelings and how it would effect the ponies whether they won or lost. Wolf attempted to keep a positive outlook talking about diplomacy and keeping to a more defensive stance, but as he talked he glanced at Twilight, he saw all the good things about his past. He saw a caring, intelligent, loving being whose life was going to be torn apart unless her friends could stop it. The group finally entered the restaurant to see a completely different style of decor, whereas the exterior looked like a gothic cathedral the interior looked astonishing close to the palace. The group was seated at a taller table, which was clearly designed for alicorns, because Wolf and Raptor were far too tall for the standard tables. The group glanced around the large dining hall as Pinkie started listing all of the different parties she could throw in the large open room, until Wolf's eyes fell upon a large stage accompanied by a wide selection of instruments. As the waiter trotted towards the table the ponies begged for Wolf to keep his arrangement. The waiter approached and asked "may i take your order?" The group all looked at each other, wondering who going to pay, before Wolf pulled out a large pouch and said "eight apple ciders please" The group all laughed about how embarrassing they thought the situation would be for Wolf before they thanked him for paying. As the round of drinks arrived, Wolf stood up, took a sip of his drink, and walked off in the direction of the stage. Wolf grabbed one of the larger guitars and started to sing songs from his childhood, although Wolf hated to sing in public he enjoyed his time up on stage. As he returned but to the table he could already see how quickly the alcohol was effecting the ponies, as they were laughing a lot more than usual. A few hours passed before the group left, in fact, the only reason they left was because the ponies that hadnt had alcohol before had all fell to sleep. Wolf carefully carried four of the ponies, two under his arms and two were wrapped up in his wings, and Raptor carried the others on his back. The two quietly laughed about how little the ponies had to drink compared to them. As they arrived back to the castle they decided it would be a good idea for them all to bunk together, that way they could see if anything happened to the ponies. Wolf placed all of the ponies on his bed before wrapping a sheet around two bars in his room to male a hammock, Raptor got his sheets and pillows and made himself comfy on the floor. As he layed in his makeshift hammock, his eyes rapidly adjusted to the dark, it wasn't long before he could clearly see the furthest edges of the room, but this wasn't anything new, what was new was that Wolf could hear the clipping of the guard's hooves as they walked back and forth outside of the castle. Furthermore his sence of smell was getting better, much like his ears, his nose started to pick up scents that he usually wouldn't be able to smell, even if his nose was press on its source. As dawn drew closer Wolf could hear the two sisters bickering about who had the harder job, until the lunar sister returned to her quarters for a long days rest. As the sun began to rise there was a loud crash outside, waking up all the ponies. Wolf jumped to his feet and said "you lot, stay here, Raptor protect them" before leaving Outside was already in chaos, Griffons flew over head as the Canterlot ponies scrambled for their homes. Wolf stepped further outside before a Griffon nearly crashed infront of him. He entered a fighting stance before he noticed something that made his angry. The Griffon was Pregnant. Wolf lowered his weapon before holding his hand out to the Griffon. Predictably the Griffon recoiled before screeching "GET AWAY FROM ME" But Wolf only stepped forward, slowly to attempt to not startle the birdlike creature, before saying "dont worry, im not going to hurt you" The Griffon recoiled slightly before saying "why would a monster help anything" Wolf just slowly approached again before saying "i am no monster, but i truly want to help you" The Griffon looked him right in his eye before raidly fleeing Wolf looked around seeing that all the other Griffons were also fleeing before heading back inside Time slowly passed after that day, as Wolf did routine patrols around the city, ensuring that there was no Griffon stragglers. The pony guards were thankful and gave Wolf a modified Bow and Quiver , the bow was simply modified to be the correct size fow Wolf the Quiver however had been made especially in mind of Wolf, it was the exact right size for him and was filled with large wooden arrows with steel tips, the arrows sat perfectly in the Quiver which had a matching lid to stop the arrows from coming out during flight. That night Wolf laid in his hammock like any other night, but something didnt seem right. Ue felt as if he was being watched by something that he couldn't see. Then later in the night Wolf felt angry, angry enough to turn savage once more. He left the room quickly and quietly before finding a secluded place to calm down. This was increasingly worring as Wolf was thinking about all the night out him and Raptor had before coming to equestria. As he looked to the sky, he noticed the half moon covered by clouds. On these luminated cloud Wolf saw the shadows of ponies, but thought nothing of it as in his mind it was probably just some pegasi going back to cloudsdale. Wolf felt comfortable sat in one of the branches of the tree so there he laid to sleep. But as he closed his eyes a bigger pony passed the clouds, this one had a long jagged horn and a her legs had a swiss cheese like pattern. It was undenible at this point. The Changeling swarm was back for Canterlot....
Chapter 13: InvasionView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 13: InvasionWolf woke to an odd sound for Canterlot, Silence, not a bird chirping. Wolf slowly lowered himself from the tree to see a few ponies, but unlike their usual expressions they just looked annoyed, not a smile to be seen. Wolf acted like nothing was wrong, but he knew something wasn't right. As he approached the castle he heard a helmet drop around the corner. As he went to investigate he found the helmet, but no pony to wear it, although he kept searching he could not find them. As Wolf entered the castle he heard a commotion, following the voices he entered a dark room to hear everything go silent. As the door closed behind him he was hit on the back of the head and dropped to the ground. he stumbled to his feet and heard light whispers in the dark. One of the voice's said "there's no way they could've got Wolf, if they did, we're all goners" Wolf heard this and said "what do you mean by got me" the voices fell silent before saying "you don't know" Wolf replied confused "know what" An unicorn ignited its's horn revealing the mane 6, and a handful of royal guards.The unicorn in question was twilight, she somehow knew of the oncoming swarm. Twilight asked "do you not know about the changeling" Wolf looked around the room and asked "where's Raptor" Twilight looked at Wolf and said "we haven't seen him, neither a clone, he must be safe enough" Wolf looked around the room before he nodded and left. He had two goals now, get weapons and find Raptor. Wolf entered his room and grabbed his equipment and donned his armour. Wolf quickly crept through the castle checking each room he went past, whilst making sure not to be seen by any guards. after the rest of the castle turned up nothing, Wolf decided to search the throne room, but before he could open the large doors leading to the room he heard an unmistakable voice. The voice was undeniably the voice of the changelings leader, Queen Chrysalis. Wolf backed away from the door before deciding to search the castles large labyrinth like cellar. Upon arrival Wolf could hear strange noises, yet he couldn't figure out were it was coming from. He slowly searched the room before the strange noises were loud, Wolf pulled down a set of shelves revealing a large hole. just as he revealed the hole Wolf heard the sound of hooves coming down the stone staircase, seeing no other option Wolf jumped down the hole into the dark unknown. After Wolf safely landed upon a cold rocky floor he drew a flare from his hip pouch, upon lighting it Wolf could faintly see the edges of the caverns walls. he could also see some strange green formations which faintly glowed with the light of the flare. Wolf cautiously approached one of the strange formations, as he got closer a figure started to become clearer inside of the odd formation, the figure looked like one of the alicorn princesses. Upon seeing this Wolf drew his kukri and sliced open the odd formation, revealing it to be a cocoon. As the cocoon was cut open Princess Luna. The princesses stumbled to her hooves before thanking Wolf, as she looked around the cavern her face turned to one of dread. Wolf instantly went to cutting open more of the cocoons to free however many ponies that were captured. Wolf lit a second flare and dropped it in the centre of the cavern before disappearing into the darkness. As Wolf entered the next cavern he saw more cocoons and started cutting them open, once all the cocoons in the cavern were cut open Wolf directed the ponies to the rest of the group, before moving into the next cavern. Wolf kept doing this for every cavern he entered, before finding the exit. Wolf went back to the group of ponies and led them to the exit, the sunlight felt nice after being in the cave for so long. Wolf headed back up to the castle and got the group that was hidden from the changelings. By this time Wolf was tired of hiding, and decided to deal with every false guard he came across. When Wolf returned to the group he noticed something odd, Princess Celestia was missing and there was only two hundred ponies. Wolf went back into the cave and quickly searched it, but didn't find anything. Wolf headed back up to the throne room to deal with the bug queen. As he opened the large doors he saw a large explosive device in the centre. as he approached the bomb he heard the strange laugh of the large bug queen. "so, you have finally found my little secret" she said approaching Wolf from out of the shadows "where... how the fuck did you set this up, there's only two people in Equestria who know how to arm a bomb like that and I'm one of them" he said as he raised his sidearm "oh, my new pet helped set it up" she replied as she tugged on a rope revealing Raptor "let him go before I cut you down" Wolf said, already getting aggravated "you know, with fire like that you would make a perfect addition to my army" she replied, before charging up her horn Wolf jumped behind one of the tall marble pillars before unloading a his pistol at the bug queen, one of the stray bullets hitting the rope that had bound Raptor to the Changeling Queen. Raptor dashed towards the pillar Wolf was behind Whilst narrowly avoiding Chrysalis's magic bolts. As Wolf continued firing upon Chrysalis, one bullet connected to her leg, scaring her enough for her to retreat, but before she left she armed the bomb. Raptor ran towards the bomb to attempt to disarm it "what type of bomb are we working with" Wolf asked "well it has the blast radius of five hundred pounds of C4, and it has a chemical agent the acts like mustard gas but lingers for as long as radiation" Raptor replied "well what's the plan" Wolf asked "I'm going to try and extend the bombs timer, try and make it last half and hour, your going to get what you need and get as far away as you can" Raptor replied Wolf Took a heavy breath before saying "ok, just make sure you have enough time to get out" Raptor nodded as Wolf fled the throne room towards the freed ponies. upon arrival he noticed that all the ponies were focused on something in the distance, Wolf pulled his rifle off of his back and peered down the scope to see that it was a large group of heavily armoured changelings flying behind the queen whilst carrying more cocoons on their backs. Wolf Loaded his rifle and shouted to the ponies to catch the falling cocoon. he then started to shoot the bugs from out of the sky, but only managed to disperse of ten. A group of pegasi returned to the group carrying the cocoons and gently placed them at Wolf's feet. As Wolf cut open the first few cocoons he noticed that one of the cocoons was moderately larger than the others. As Wolf cut open the larger cocoon princess Celestia fell out onto the grass. Wolf held out his hand to help the Princess as she stumbled onto her hooves but she was more interested in where her other ponies were. Celestia turned to Wolf her face red with rage "where are the rest of them" Wolf tilted his head slightly in confusion before Asking "What, you blame me for this" Celestia just got angrier as she shouted at Wolf "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE" Wolf tried to defend himself but Celestia would not let him get a word so he he drew his sidearm and shot toward the ground underneath her hooves before shouting "I am not to blame, in fact I am the one who as been saving every pony so far, including yourself" Celestia looked around to all of her remaining subjects to see that they were all more scared of her than they were of Wolf As she looked back towards Wolf he said "now that's out of the way we have about twenty five minutes before Canterlot explodes, the changelings armed an explosive that Raptor is currently trying to disarm it. during this time we need to collect anything that could help us in the long term, food, Water, Weapons, ammo and anything that could bolster moral" The ponies looked at one another before rushing back into Canterlot to gather anything that they could find. Wolf and Lux headed back to their room to gathe the rest of Wolf's Equipment. He grabbed his survival bag and started loaded his hammock and extra ammo. Wolf went to the edge of the forest where he left his bag to go and help the ponies with gathering supplies. Wolf help one of the ponies attach itself to a cart of food so that it could go to the forest and wait. Wolf looked up to see Rainbow Dash rapidly moving to and from the castle armoury, leaving her signature trail in her wake. Wolf went back up to the throne room to try and get Raptor out but it was no use, if Raptor left now the bomb would instantly detonate. Raptor Kicked a bag towards Wolf. Wolf picked up the bag before saying "I am not leaving you behind" Raptor turned to him and said "too bad, you have to take care of yourself Brother" Wolf sighed before asking "are you sure you want to do this" Raptor replied "no, but I took this job to save people, and that's exactly what I am going to do" Wolf nodded before hugging Raptor and said "see you in the next life brother" As Wolf get to the edge of the forest he looked back to watch as Canterlot exploded. All of the ponies started to walk down the road, leaving Wolf to stare at the ruins, hoping to watch Raptor emerge before Twilight pulled him out of his trance, the duo set off down the road quickly catching up to the group. Twilight went to ask Wolf about Raptor but she could see by his face that he wasn't going to join the group. As the group got closer to Ponyville Wolf read through a manifest that one of the ponies had written and checked started checking to make sure that the supplies on the list were correct. He found that Luna had decided to save discord from being crushed or destroyed, Rainbow Dash had gathered enough Weapons and Ammo to keep a small army going for months, Rarity and Applejack had gathered food and drink for the masses, Twilight raided the library for most of the books that were still present and for some odd reason, Princess Celestia had brought a mirror. Wolf decided not to ask about this to try and avoid further conflict with the princess. As Ponyville grew nearer and nearer Wolf noticed a large amount of smoke looming in the air. As Ponyville came into view it was clear where the thick black smoke was coming from. Ponyville was burning Down...
Chapter 14: Release The BeastView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 14: Release The BeastWolf turned to the ponies and said "there's a castle not too far from here, head there, I'm going to make sure that your not seen heading in that direction" As the majority of the ponies headed into the forest Twilight, pinkie pie and Apple Jack remained "What about my family" Apple Jack Cried Wolf dropped his bags and said "If they're here I'll find them, but you don't want to see what's about to happen" Twilight managed to convince Apple jack to go to the castle so that they could see if any of the towns ponies were there, pinkie pie followed behind to try and comfort her friend. Wolf holstered his pistol and kukri and headed into the burning town. Wolf didn't attempt to sneak around the town, he wanted a fight. Upon finding a small group of Griffons Wolf shouted "Oi wankers, over here, You want a fight I'll give you one" The Griffons rushed towards Wolf, their talons dripping with an unknown liquid. What was the liquid, blood, poison, whatever it was Wolf could not allow their talons to break his skin, not that it was intended to get hit. Wolf drew his Kukri and deflected the first Griffons attack, causing the Griffon to stagger back. the second Griffon ran into Wolf causing him to fall onto his back, but before the griffon could take advantage of this Wolf sliced at the griffons legs taking it to the ground before taking a fatal swing at its throat, before he could climb back to his the third and last member of the Griffon group pounced on top of Wolf, pining him to the ground. The Griffon leaned in close to Wolf to mock him but Wolf latched onto the Griffons throat with his teeth and tore it out. As Wolf clambered to his feet, his face now covered in blood, he noticed the first Griffon he attacked attempting to run away, so Wolf pulled one of the small blades from his gauntlet and threw it into the Griffons spine before killing it. Wolf searched the entire town but found nothing, no bodies, no blood, no signs of any fight. Wolf headed to the old castle in the Everfree forest. About half way there he ran into the rest of the group, who all claimed that their was voices coming from up ahead. Wolf drew his Beretta and crept his way through the thick shrubbery of the forest. On the other side of the shrubs there was another group of ponies. Upon seeing this Wolf called the rest of the group saying it was safe. Of the small population of ponyville sadly only a few escaped, including Apple Jacks family, mostly likely because they were on the to the far side of town. The princesses informed the new additions that they were headed to the castle, bit the way they named it was far different to Wolf's, they called it "The castle of the two sisters". Ignoring this Wolf Gave Twilight a radio, saying that he was going to scout up ahead, Twilight nodded as she watched Wolf run depper into the Forrest. Within five minutes of running Wolf made it to the castle, it was old, old enough that the stone had been nearly covered in moss and was crumbling away with the slightest breeze. As Wolf approached the large doors he noticed something rusted propped up against a wall. Knowing that most pony made tool were constructed out of gold. Upon further inspection the rusted metal was part of a rifle, a Kar98K to be exact, but something was wrong, although the rifle could not have created before 1935 the weapon looked centuries old, as when Wolf went to lightly grip the barrel to pick up the gun the metal crumbled. As Wolf entered the through the ancient door, not knowing what could be on the other side, light his flashlight and cautiously entered. The large structure was mostly abandoned, apart from the few dozen bats that decided to make it their home. As Wolf left the castle he signalled Twilight to tell her that it was safe. As the remaining ponies started to settle into the castle, the princesses, mane six and Wolf gathered together in a separate room. Princess Celestia started barking orders to the rest of the group, but there was only one order that Wolf decided to except. "Wolf, i want you to start making defences to protect the castle" Celestia barked "No, the surrounding area needs a full group to clear it before defences can effectively be placed" Wolf stated calmly Alright then, i want you to instead go and find any remaining ponyville residents that may have escaped the Griffons" Celestia ordered "Not going to happen, if any pony see's me they will most likely run away, and for what reason would they have for not staying with the larger group" said Wolf in return Celestia was getting angry, never before was she objected to such disobedience "FINE THEN, your orders are to protect Twilight and her friends" Celestia shrieked Wolf chuckled before asking "why would they need protecting, ive seen them fight the changelings before" Celestia calmed her self before responding "Because if just one of them falls, we lose our best weapon, The Elements Of Harmony" Wolf thought hard on the situation before saying "ok, but I'll need to be able to blend in much better than i already can, otherwise my appearance alone could attract unwanted attention" Twilight piped up "Theres a spell that could give you the ability to morph just like the changelings, any animal an any time" Celestia shouted at Twilight "WHERE DID YOU LEARN OF THIS, THAT KNOWLEDGE IS FORBIDDEN" Twilight spoke on the verge of tears from having her mentor shout at her "It was one of the extremely difficult spells that Starswirl the bearded finished" Wolf nodded along to the conversation and said "This might just be the advantage we need, if you would allow it i am willing to take the risk" Before Celestia could speak Luna said "Do anything you need to do to get us an advantage in this trying time" Twilight dragged Wolf out of the room and said "are you sure you want to do this, you could get seriously hurt" Wolf simply replied "im a soldier, we're used to putting our life on the line for a slight glimmer of hope" Twilight nodded and led Wolf outside, her friends following close behind. As Twilight prepared herself for the spell Wolf took off what was left of his armour and equipment and waited. Once Twilight was ready, she took no time hesitating and commenced the lengthy process. For at least an hour Twilight had to concentrate all of her magical abilities into one spell. During the entire process Wolf was engulfed in a cloud of black smoke. At the end of the process Twilight stepped back as the large black cloud dispersed, revealing where Wolf should have been, but instead he was replaced by a what the ponies thought was a timberwolf, but this one was far different it had fur that was as black as coal, and its eyes were primarily black with red pupils, and it stood just taller than Twilight. Before the ponies were about to run the large black wolf was engulfed by yet another cloud of dark smoke. The smoke quickly dispersed revealing that the process had worked and had actually gave Wolf the power to change his form, but something was different about him, his eyes and hair now mirrored those of his Animal form. As Wolf went to raise his fist in victory he collapsed and fainted, proving the strain on him was far greater than the strain on Twilight. About two hours later Wolf came back to consciousness. Although he was a little nauseous everything else seemed to be in order. As Wolf tried and failed to transform into different animals, Twilight dug deeper into the spell. Twilight discovered that the spell only allowed the subject to transform into one animal. Before the group could experiment the strength of Wolf's new form they were all called to the new meeting room. As they arrived the two sisters were already talking about a place known as "The Crystal Empire" and its leader King Sombra. As the group approached the table in the centre of the room Celestia turned to address them. Before anyone else could ask what was happening Celestia said "Princess Caydance and Captain Shining Armour have been captured in a distant Kingdom long thought to be lost, known as the Crystal Empire, you are to go there and rescue them, if they are under his control try to bring them back here so that we can attempt to sever the connection to King Sombre" The group just nodded and went to gather some food and equipment for the long journey. Wolf set up a radio relay in the meeting room so that they could stay in touch with the castle whilst on their journey. As the group set off Wolf changed his form, which also effected everything on his person, allowing him to carry his standard amount of equipment without needing to worry about drawing attention. As the group set off there was a sense of excitement for exploring the great world of Equestria, but also a sense of dread, knowing all of the threats they will inevitably meet along the way.

"At least one more days walk, if we set up camp now, your choice Wolf" Twilight replied as she stared at the map "It'll be better to go through the day, I would rather not freeze to death after coming all this way" Wolf replied whilst rummaging through his pack "Alright girls you heard him, lets gather some fire wood" said Applejack, before leading the two pegasi and Pinkie Pie, who was still complaining, leaving the two unicorns to help Wolf pitch the tents As the camp was set up and a small hole for the fire was dug the group heard a high pitched scream come from the woods. Wolf darted into the forest, using his now heightened senses to track the pony. As he came to the of the scent trail he found Fluttershy curled up behind underneath a large oak tree. "Fluttershy, what wrong, what happened" Wolf asked in a softer tone "t-t-Timberwolves" the pony shrieked as Wolf started hearing growls from behind The man turned around and snarled, turning himself into his animal form, whilst letting out a loud howl, in hopes to scare the timberwolves away. By some odd luck, his plan worked as the pack turned tail and ran. Wolf turned back to Fluttershy amd tried to calm her. "Fluttershy please calm down, as long as I'm around I wont let any harm come to you, to any of you" Wolf said in a soft tone Fluttershy cries stopped after hearing these words as she turned around and hugged Wolf tightly, before the two returned to camp. As they arrived back at camp they found the rest of the group arguing about going to find Fluttershy. "Didnt you hear that howl, that was no timberwolf" Applejack proclaimed "Which means it's too dangerous for us to split up and look for her" Rarity protested "Well either way we cant just leave her out their" Rainbow Dash argued "Please girls please calm down, we need to think about that rationality" Twilight said, whilst trying to keep Pinkie Pie from joining the argument As the two closed the tap to the tree line Wolf said to Fluttershy "Wanna play a prank on them" After about five more minutes of arguing later Fluttershy ran out of the forest screaming "RUUUN" But the group didnt turn tail this time, as they decided to try and fight whatever was chasing Fluttershy. They stood and watched as a large unseen beast started slowly moving back and forth behind the trees, letting off a low growl. As the fire started to die down, and the light began to fade the dark beast emerged from the trees like a shadow, but all the ponies could see was its dark eyes. But before the light was completely gone the creature pounce out of the shadows and appeared to have caught nothing, until the group realised that Fluttershy was gone, leaving some red substance where she once stood. Now the ponies were terrified, trying to keep a complete cone of vision on the area. "We need to go now" said Applejack But as the group slowly started to move back the heard a deep voice come from the darkness "i can smell your fear, the sweet sweat dripping from your foreheads, the fresh urine on the ground, know that if you run, i will catch you, if you hide i will find you and if you try and fight me-" it said before abruptly cutting off "I WILL KILL YOU" the voice shouted, in an almost demonic tone But as terrified as the ponies were they stood their ground as Twilight her horn and said "We stand together in life and death" But as Twilight's horn began to glow they saw Fluttershy stood next to Wolf, who both started to laugh hysterically. As the group let out a light sign as both Wolf and Fluttershy calmed down before Wolf said "Im proud of you, although you were terrified and against an unknown opponent, you stood your ground, not only am i suprised to see this from ponies, but most highly trained soldiers would have ran as well, youre braver than most" "So what was this, some sick pratical joke" Twilight asked, visibly annoyed, before hearing the rest of the group laughing behind her "You got us good" Rainbow Dash said whilst holding back tears "What did you use for the fake blood" Applejack asked Wolf just held out a small bottle and explained "i just grabbed a load of red berries and mashed them up till they were like a paste, im suprised it actually worked" The group was still annoyed by the duo's prank, but knew it was all in good fun, even if it when too far. Nevertheless the group laughed the night away telling stories from their past. "When i was little old Granny Smith would tell me and Big Mac stories of our parents, about how they where from two familys that would always fight, based off of some old argument, but although they know their families would hate it if the two got married they did it anyway, leading to my mother's father disowning her, but she knew she had done the right thing for love" Applejack told the group "What about you Wolf, haven't you got a story to tell" asked Pinkie Pie "I dont like talking about my past much" Wolf said whilst looking off into the woods "Ah, come on, everyone else has told a story" Pinkie Pie replied "Welp, since i can't stop you from asking, here goes, but i will warn you, my life has never been good for me, a few years back when i was about sixteen both me and Raptor went by different names, back then i was known as Alex, and Raptor was called Shawn, then Shawn gets this dumb idea in his head and asked 'Hey Alex what would you do if i joined the army', my reply was 'do you even need to ask that question, i would join up right along side you'. He then said 'My parents are taking me to the recruitment office in a few weeks if you are serious', and i just stared at him for the longest time thinking about how crazy tue idea was then i remembered, my grandfather would be thrilled, he was the one who seriously cared for me in my life, to the point where my parents lost custody of me for years of mistreatment, so the next day i said to my grandfather 'My friend is joining the army in a couple of weeks and i want to join alongside him, but not under the name i currently have, my grandfather asked me what i meant and i said 'i want to change my name, the one i have is always going to bring me pain, my grandfather agreed knowing this was one of the few times i would argue with him, so the next day he took me down to the town hall to change my name, as i went up to the desk my grandfather explained that i wanted to change my name, showed the attendant all of the paper work confirming that i was his legal guardian and the woman handed me a sheet with all the information i had to fill in in order to change my name, so i took it over to a small seating area and filled out all of the necessary information and handed it to her, she then looked at me and said 'are you sure you want your full name to be Wolf' i then explained that ever since i was young i had that as my nickname so it was easier to adjust to, my grandfather signedoff on it and since that day August 13 2009 my legal name has been Wolf. That night i called Shawn i told him what i had done, and that i would have all of the paperwork back by the day we would go to the recruitment office, he said 'so, now your full name is just Wolf, no surname or anything' i explained why i did it and why it was important to me, he didnt mind in fact he loved the new name, but that was the last time i spoke to Shawn, as the next time i saw him was the recruitment office, where he told me his full name was now Raptor. So know you know the truth about my name" The group looked at Wolf in awe before Rainbow Dash asked "What happened next" All agreed that they wanted to know more about his past, and who was he to refuse know, it was four against two, as Twilight had already seen the darkness of his past Wolf then continued "two days before we were going to into basic training my grandfather and Raptor's family threw a big party for us going away, that was where i learned how kind Raptor's family truly was, as i only saw little of them prior, but they weren't too thrilled about him changing his name, as he said to them 'a friend did it, i only saw to do it as well to help them through the hard times' but once i told them the reason i had changed my name, their attitude to his knew name as well as i in general changed for the better. As the night grew older i remember less and less, most likely to me getting drunk, but the next day my birth mother and father had came to attempt to drag me back into their lives so that they could start earning money of caring for me, but as my grandfather explained that i no longer go by Alex, my birth mother protested and said 'i don't care what that little shit is called but he is coming home with us' after hearing this i opened my bedroom window i shouted out to them 'oi you twats did you not hear the part where i took a restraining order out on you or are you just ignoring that, Granddad get back in the house the these fuckers wont leave i will call the police' my grandfather listened and just left my mother out side to scream at us, after about two minutes they left, my grandfather helped me pack my bag that day, and for the first time he said 'I'm proud of you Wolf, once i heard that your parents heavily mistreated you i thought that there was no hope left and now look at you, all grown up and following in your granddads footsteps' i was confused and asked 'you served time in the army' which he had, twenty years to be exact, during that time my father was born, but either way he did no care, he was just happy that he raised his grandson better than his own. That night we had a feast with Raptor's family, as my grandfather already treat Raptor like his own grandchild anyway, as he saw so much of me i him, the next day we were sent off into the army and started out basic training, bit not even two months later a SAS recruiter came into our camp and picked out me and a handful of other trainees, but once i heard that Raptor had would be left behind i said to the recuiter 'with all due respect sir, but i am not leaving this base without him by my side' the recuiter looked at me and got really close, to try and intimidate me, to the point where i could feel the heat of his breath. He then backed down and gor Raptor's records, and took him on as well. The next six months were absolute hell, as they put us through the toughest of training, when it came to firearms training i learned quickly and mastered every weapon they put in my hands, so at the end of it all i was given the role of marksman, for my accuracy and Raptor was made into a combat engineer. On our final day of training we all got letters from home, everyone had smiles on their faces with tears in their eyes, but i only had tears. In the time that i was in training my grandfather had died, but before he did he wrote me a letter, saying that he was proud of me and what i have become and in his words i never asked much of him he So had sold all of his possessions and left his house in my name to help me pay for his funeral and to help me live a good live once i finished my long service in the army. Either way the next day we were sent home for a month, but when i returned to the house i found my mother waiting, she complained that she and my father were left out of the will, but in a final act he left them a single penny each, and my older brother one thousand pounds, so that he could get himself some nice things, to that point they left and i started planning my grandfather's funeral and for someone to rent my house, in the end the people who i wanted to rent the house to ended up buying it off of me, which i argeed to as then it get taken care of. From their you pretty much know most of the story, from one battle to another, a different war to fight, another person killed" "Wow that was a cool story, you should tell more" Pinkie Pie exclaimed as the others wiped a tear from their eyes "Alright thats enough story time for one day, kets get some shut eye" Wolf said before retreating into his tent All the ponies when into their separate tents, apart from Fluttershy who had managed to talk Wolf into her stay with him for the night. The night went quiet until dawn when the birds started chirping, and the forest came alive once again with all sorts of animals, plants and even fungi alike. As the group awoke form their slumber once more they all donned winter clothing and started to ascend the mountain after only ten minutes of walking the once lush fields and trees were replaced by a white blanket of snow and the blistering cold winds of the mountains. After a long and uneventful day the group came across the Crystal Empire, after arguing about when they should approach the city Wolf noticed a cave and suggested that they stay their until daylight, the group ate what they had brought them that night, Applejack shared some of the apples her family had grabbed before fleeing towards the castle, Pinkie Pie shared some cupcakes, and Twilight share some sandwiches, all whilst Wolf ate a MRE from his pack before being given a cupcake that Pinkie wouldn't let him refuse, as the night grew colder Wolf made a fire at the back of the cave from some of the firewood he had grabbed from the previous night, aa the ponies all attempted to sleep in close proximity to one another Wolf checked his pack listing of the remaining supplies. "One M4A1 assault rifle, six fully loaded 5.56 Nato round magazines, five MRES, one flashlight with six remaining batteries, five flares, one Kukri blade, one M9 Beretta sidearm and eight 9mm Beretta magazines" he whispered to himself, check everything of in his head Before Wolf slept he decided to morph himself into his other form and lay close to the ponies, as this way they would get the heat of his fur. As he slept he did not feel the fact that one by one the ponies snuggled into him, first Fluttershy, then Pinkie Pie, followed by Rainbow Dash and Rarity, after that Applejack and finally Twilight. The night once again went quiet and all that could be heard was the crackling of the fire in the cave, but this time once dawn arose there were no birds chirping, no animals, plants nor fungi to be see, just the harsh conditions of the winter wasteland. Yet again Wolf was the first to wake from his long slumber to find that all of the ponies had gotten close to him whilst he slept. Wolf grinned before quietly whispering to himself "ah, whats another hour or two going to harm" as he layed back down to sleep Once all of the ponies and Wolf had woke up and ate something warm they left the cave and approached the Crystal Empire, upon reaching the large gates they were stopped by a pony holding a spear and wearing a helmet that covered their entire head. "Halt, only citizens of the Crystal Empire may pass" The guard said sternly Wolf replied "we are envoys from the far lands of Canterlot, our arrival is expected with king Sombra" The guard just stared into the distance before saying "ah, how silly of me, please enter" As the guardpony stepped aside and opened the gate Wolf leaned over to Twilight and Whispered "something isn't write, be alert at all times" Twilight nodded as they entered the city before saying "the city is mainly crystal, most likely due to the area having large amounts of crystals deposits, this it was named the Crystal Empire" "Really Twi, we couldnt have figured that one out on our own" Rainbow Dash replied snarkily As the group entered the city, Wolf had a bad feeling, like they were walking into a trap

Chapter 17: Bringer of DeathView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 17: Bringer of DeathWolf flung the Griffon prisoners into their cell and removed the bags from their heads before walking towards the cell door. "If one of you fucks gets any bright ideas about escaping I'll slaughter the three of you and make you an example for the next patrol that come this way" he growled before slamming the door shut Wolf started to walk down to the the decrepit corridors towards the command room, thinking he would finally earned a break, not realising how wrong he was. When he entered the command room he saw a horrified Twilight and three worried princesses As he walked toward the table princess Cadence said "ah theres my opposite" Wolf tilted his head and said "what" Celestia then said "the few of the guard that know of you call you death but right now we have bigger problems" "Like what" wolf replied walking closer to the table before reading the notes that were sprawled about, reading about "Tirek" and his magic stealing ability. He looked up at the princesses and asked "how long" Luna replied "not long enough" "I'll track him down and deal with it" said Wolf "No, we need you here, with the elements, they're the only thing that can stop him" said Celestia, who was visibly shaking "Alright then whats the plan" asked Wolf, who, was visibly concerned "We're going to distract him for as long as we can, you, Twilight and the rest of the elements are going to evacuate the ponies to the cave underneath the castle" said Luna Wolf shook his head before asking "you sure you dont want me there to help" "No, we dont know how much magic flows through you, for all we know you could be able to control the entire planet with the click of your hooves" replied Caydance Wolf's mind started worrying about the princesses plan be he nodded and said "Alright, I'll arm up and we'll start with the evacuation" before going to leave the room "Wolf, if you can, try to stay non-lethal" pleaded Luna Wolf simply nodded before running out of the room. Once in the Armoury Wolf grabbed a M4A1 assault rifles with an underbarrel grenade launcher before noticing Twilight out of the corner of his eye. "That weapon looks very lethal" she said in a joking like way But as Wolf reached into the ammunition storage his and swept straight passed the explosives and onto some tear gas grenades. Then he went higher, ignoring the 5.56 and grabbed a few magazines of rubber bullets. He then loaded the spare ammunition into his pack or into one lf his hip pouches. The only live ammunition he actually grabbed was a couple boxes of 9mm for his M9. Wolf then turned back around with one of the tear gas grenades in his hands and said "this stuff will make the fucker choke on his own breath, but it won't kill him, now come on, we have an evacuation to do. Within the hour half of the castle had been evacuated, the elements had been prepared and the princesses had prepared their trap. Wolf sat outside of the castle and listened to the echoes of Tireks approach before the castle was completely empty. After another ten minutes Wolf headed down to the cave to wait for the princesses signal. Wolf looked around the dark and damp cave and all he saw were fearful ponies, his mind raced in ways that he could help them, maybe to give them peace of mind, but to no avail, but on his failure to find a way to calm the ponies he realised that it may be better to convince them to take up arms and fight against those who took their homes and familys, and to fight those who took their joy. Wolf clambered to his feet, leaving his rifle where it lied and slowly walked to the centre of the stalacitite filled cave, making sure to see each and every face around him. Once there he began to adress the ponies in a deeper, yet alicorn royal voice, as luna enjoyed to use, "Ponies of Equestria, hear me, those of you who know who i am already know the deeds i have done for you, and all other ponies, but to those who dont, then allow me to introduce myself" "I am Wolf of Earth, but now i might have to change that, over a year ago now i came here by accident with my brother in arms Raptor, who died to save all of us at Canterlot, but before that we have protected you all from both the Griffons and the Changelings." "Even after that I, alongside Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Apple Jack went off on an expedition to rescue Princess Cadence and Captain Shining Armour, but in doing so we discovered yet another foe, King Sombra and his army of mind controlled thralls." "Now besides Tirek, we have three enemies, who have taken action against us, yet we sit idle as they burn our homes and slaughter our people, now i want to know why" "Why are we running if we hold our ground against a single opponent, then we could succeed against them, and doing so we could start taking our homes back, and avenging those we have lost." "But right now we need to deal with Tirek, as we cant take back our homes or avenge our loved ones without the princesses help, as they and myself are willing to lay down our livesto give you all the slightest chance at survival." "So now i ask, will you stand with me and take back our homes, and av enge those who have fallen, or will you keep running until theres nowhere left to go, because i can tell you all now, there is nowhere left to run, we're already at the end of tue line. So theres a time for peace and theres a time for action, and i can tell you now, as our enemies pound on our door that this is a time for action, so are you with me, or will we all die in this cave together" Wolf's words shook the very cave itself as one by one the ponies climbed to their hooves, ready to take up arms. Wof continued "Hell yea, thats the spirit, but for now stay here and protect one anothe, i will handle Tirek" Upon hearing this most ponies grabed a sharp rock or a thick branch and started to either hide in ambush positions or in defensive locations, both ready for a fight, Wolf watched it all unfold before leaving the cave to fight Tirek. Before entering the ruined castle, noticing that the large wooded door was smashed to splinters, he pulled out his trusty M9 Beretta before running towards Deaths cold embrace unsure of whom it was after, but if it called his name he would not go without a fight.
Chapter 18: A Fight To RememberView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 18: A Fight To RememberAs Wolf walked down the coridor and saw the destruction that Tirek had brought, each step under his gigantic feet left a crator full of cracks, each word shattered the windows around him, and each door was just another obsicle in his way. Wolf began to run as he knew that the prinncess' would not last long against him, he was not a creature that could be reasoned with, nor could he be defeated by the raw strength of the princess', they needed a plan, and he didnt know if they had one. As Wolf drew ever closer to the room that the Princess would be waiting in he heard loud bangs, as if a Rhino was charging into a tank, the more he ran the louder it got. As he turned the final corner he saw the hulking beast known as Tirek, Wolf retreated back round the corner as he knew that he wouldnt stand a chance on his own. He waited for what seemed like forever before the door finally caved in, Tirek let out a low laugh before speaking in a low tone. He said "So, the three mighty Princess' of equestria hide behind door after door, WHEN I FIND YOU I'M GOING TO POUND YOU INTO MUSH" A voice from the room answered his call by repling "look no further Tirek, for we are here, please, we have much to discus" Wolf recognised the voices, as did Tirek, who instinctively turned towards them once again letting out a low laugh. Wolf waited for him to walk deeper into the room before he quietly went in behind him. Although Wolf nor Tirek heard or saw, Princess Luna wispered to Celstia "he came, just as you said deer sister, what do we do now" "wait for him to make the first move Luna, as it will determin whether we survive this encounter" she replied before addressing Tirek and asked "so Tirek, how is it that you have freed yourself from the shackles of the Guardians?" Tirek replied simply "I crushed the Guardians as i will crush you" Wolf was ready to make his move so he replied "not without a fight you wont" as he stood behind him, waiting for him to turn. As he turned and saw Wolf Tirek laughed and said "so the three most powerful ponies in all of equestria send a meer worm to face me" Wolf didnt laugh like he normally would at this remark, instead he calmly stated "I am no worm, I am Wolf, and im looking forward to making you bleed" Tirek laughed before bringing down his mighty fist to attempt to kill Wolf. Although Tirek nearly hit him Wolf simply stepped out of the way before slashing Tireks large arm and fist, leaving a fair amount of cuts, but far too shallow to deal and real damage. Tirek laughed again before saying "lots of blood there" before yet again striking at Wolf Wolf attempted to dodge once again but misjudged the speed of Tirek's fist and his arm got hit, sending Wolf flying back into a wall. When Wolf stood back up he looked at his arm to see it blowing with the wind, dislocated, but nothing broken. Tirek started to laugh at Wolf, which only fueled his anger as he snapped his arm back into place. Wolf began to see red and charged like a crazy emu at Tirek. Tirek took another swing towards Wolf, but he just slid underneath his arm and swung his blade once more, this time leaving a deeper cut, yet still far too small do any damage. Wolf saw Tireks cuts upon his other fist as it came barreling towards him, Wolf once again dodged the red fist and made another small incision all along the side of Tireks hand. For the first time Wolf had actually managed to harm the red beast, but his only made him faster as he too was now fueled by anger. Unlike Tirek, Wolf became far stronger by his anger, something new that was from his accidental Alicorn assension, however, in addition to this Wolf became more like the animal of his namesake, snarling and growl. As the battle raged on Wolf had many a close call, each one making Tirek redder than he already was, but with each near miss Wolf became calmer and dealt less damage, meanwhile the princess' just sat and watched, fixated on Wolf's action and how he behaved, up until Tirek hit Wolf at full force, which sent him flying like a ragdoll into a wall, leaving a crator where he landed. One would expext some kind of upset reaction from the princess' instead they just continued to watch the bloodied, broken body of Wolf. Tirek started to slowly approach, laughing, he thought he had already achived victory when he raised his fists high above the princess' head. As his fists slammed down they did not hit the princess', instead they struck the unseen magic shield that they had prepared long before his arrival. Celestia laughed "if you truely thought that it would be that easy to kill us then you are far more simple that I originally thought" Before Tirek had the chance to fire a half witted remark back at Celestia the room was filled by the blood churning sound of screams. The room grew cold as if a thousand ghosts had suddenly awoken from a long slumber. The Princess' finally began to react as they were overcome with fear. Tirek felt weak, as if his very soul was being torn from his body. The room fell silent for a moment before the ground began to shake as Wolf began to climb to his feet, emiting a dark red aura. The room was filled with the wispers of the dead, with each second they grew louder, up until Wolf himself howled savagely. The princess' looked on in horror at Wolf, his deep red and black eyes glowed brighly like an Alicorns whilst they are using the magic in their horns, but unlike any other Alicorn, Wolf had no horn to use the magic that surrouned him, yet somehow he did. Wolf grabbed his unhinged jaw and snapped it into place with a loud snap. Tirek, fueled by anger caused by his failure to kill such a puny creature, charged at Wolf yet he he did was raise his hand, nor did he attempt to dodge the incoming beast, instead Wolf just swung his kukri with such force that once it cutting into Tireks skin it knocked him of balence, causing the large creature to wobble like a child attempting to take their first steps. When he regained his balence Tirek looked down to see that where the blade had cut him, instead of there being an open wound there was a small creavice in his skin, which was surrounded by hand prints that were corroded like frostbite into his skin as if each hand had been below -50 degrees Celsius. Finally the princess' saw why Wolf was holding out his hand as his rifle was brought to his side and his pistol was drawn from its holster Before Tirek could ask how he caused so much damage, Wolf stuck again, and again, each time having the same effect, all at the same time as the non-lethal loaded M4 and the beretta fired rapidly. Tirek slammed his hand on the ground and started to move it towards Wolf, pulling up most of the tiles that were on the floor, but in retaliation Wolf opened his wings and dropped to his knees, using his wings as a shield against the inocoming tide of rubble. Each and every tile that hit Wolf shattered or split in two upon impact before Tireks hand hit and grabbed him. Tirek started to compress his grip around Wolf only to end up with cuts on his fingers, deep enough to see the bone, the cuts bled like a rapidly flowing river. Tirek dropped Wolf and stumbled back, clutching his bloodstained hand. Through the fear in his veins Tirek stuttered out "what kind of monster are you" Wolf raised his kukri, the tip of its blade pointing between Tireks eyes, before releasing a blood curdling howl that echoed from wall to wall. Tirek took a final swing towards Wolf, but this time Wolf changed form and lunged towards Tireks arm and sunk his teeth into his hand, applying enough pressure to tear off his index and middle fingers. Tirek stumbled further back, clutching his bloody stumps, hitting the princesses magic barrier, Wolf spat out the chuck of flesh that was in his maw and began to approach Tirek to finish him, but the princesses lept into action, their eyes glowing as they acted, princess Cadence began to cast a spell that would dull all of Tireks sences which released a pink mist around Tireks head, Princess Luna cast a spell that would bind Tirek to where he stood, her spell summoning a dark blue lasso, as for princess Celestia, she began to cast a spell which would send Tirek back to the eternal prison of the Guardians. Within seconds the room began to brighten around them until it was near unbearable, though it didn't last long as the room once again as the light began to dim, like a candle that was about to burn out. There was nothing left where Tirek had stood, all other than a large scorch mark on the flagstone floor. The princesses regained their strength before looking around the room to see that Wolf had passed out a slight motion away from the large charred stone. The princess' shuddered at the thought of what would've happened if Wolf had reached his target, but they put it aside, as Luna embedded false memories of the rest of the battle, before the alicorn returned him to his bunk. Celestia was concerned "So, he is like us, but he doesnt know it" "So we nullify it, so he cant use it against us" spoke Caydance "But sister, it is our duty as Alicorns too teach him" said Luna the only reasonable one As an argument broke out between the regals, something powerful had been brought to equestria and unbeknownst to the Princesses nor the ponies, but something new had entered Equestria War was finally on the horizon, but now it wont just be a one man army.
Chapter 19: A Sence of NormalityView OnlineA different war to fightChapter 19: A Sence of NormalityFifteen recruits stepped out of a large metal structure that they were using as a temporary barracks. A young Wolf, no older than nineteen was one of many in terms of appearance but in combat capability he far exceeded his other bunk mates. The recruits stood in lines of five, as a drill sergeant walked forward and back whilst starring at a clipboard. The grizzled soldier stopped in front of Wolf and looked down on him, he spoke in a deep voice "Private Alexander Wolf, front and centre" Wolf obeyed as he stepped forward, and prepared for what he expected to be a long rant about his age, one he had heard far too often in his time training for the SAS. The sergeant continued "Private, you have been selected for three live fire exercises, all of which shall effect your combat rating and overall grading, these exercises are based on accuracy, rapid reload and armour piercing capabilities, do you understand" Wolf simply replied "Sir yes Sir" The sergeant pulled Wolf onto a live fire range and handed him an AR-15 assault rifle, without saying a word the officer pointed to the targets and stepped back. Wolf checked his magazine, chambered the first bullet, flicked off the safety and aimed down the sights. The officer pressed a button and three red lights appeared above Wolfs head and ticked down. Once the final light turned off the first target popped upand within a split second Wolf put a round inbetween where its eyes would've been, this repeated over and over again until the final target dropped, the last round flew out of the chamber and the safety was on. The Sergeant stepped forward again, this time with a stopwatch, Wolf knew the second he touched the magazine release the timer would start, but he was ready, he pressed the release, grabbed a magazine off of his hip, flicked the rifle so the empty magazine flew out, loaded the fresh one and finally pulled the firing pin. The Sergeant looked at the stopwatch and said "impressive, one point two one seconds" A second officer approached the pair and handed Wolf an anti material rifle and pointed towards an old tank. The officers stepped back once more letting Wolf drop to the ground into a firing position. The magazine of the anti material rifle held ten tounds, but Wolf only needed one. A single well placed shot between the tracks was all it took to ignite the ammunition storage and destroy the entire tank. As the officer went to approach Wolf his ear were filled with radio static. His eyes opened to see his was in his room In the castle of the two sisters, seeing that the past three years of his life were not just a dream. He longed to see his friends again, his girlfriend Alice who he had left behind so long ago. He was about to climb out of his hammock when he heard a voice come over the radio, for once he was happy that he kept charging it with his solar charger. The voice over the radio said “this is corporal possum of bravo pack, our helo went down to what we believe to be turbulence, if there is anyone there please respond” Wolf pulled his radio off his hip and quickly replied “this is corporal Wolf of Alpha Pack, what is your location” The corporal quickly responded “alpha pack? Thought you guys were dead” “not dead corporal, just MIA, now what’s your position” Wolf snapped back The corporal stuttered before responding “can’t tell, just a lot of trees, wait, there’s a castle spire in the distance” Wolf jumped out of his hammock and looked out his window to see a distant smoke trail “hold on trooper, I’ve clocked your location and I’ll be there soon, how many of you are there” he asked before grabbing his equipment and bandana. The trooper quickly responded “twelve standing, three wounded” Wolf ran out the castle and switched form bolting towards the smoke as fast as his leg could carry him, it wouldn’t be long before he got there. As he drew closer a familiar scent filled his lungs, although he could not place it brought a smile to his face. He made it to the edge of the clearing where the helicopter crashed and switched form once more, before slowly approaching the downed whirly bird. He cautiously approached, seeing no people, nor movement. Wolf searched the helicopter thoroughly, finding minimal supplies and equipment had been left behind, somewhat sloppily leaving weapons and ammo out in the open. Before he was about to switch his form once more to see if he could pick up a scent trail he heard movement from the inside the wreckage. With his sidearm raised he turned into the helicopter to see a small amount of radio equipment with a note left on it. As Wolf approached the equipment a small squirrel jumped out of an exposed yet empty fuel reserve. "Well that explains the noice" Wolf muttered to himself before grabbing the note It read “sorry corporal, hostiles converging on this location, regroup ASAP” Wolf put the note in his pocket before looking around for tracks. They would have to be somewhat deep as they had wounded and equipment to move, so possible three or four troopers left to guard. He looked around an found a large concentration of tracks leading deeper into the woods. Knowing the woods like the back of his hands Wolf ran into the dark, using his nose to keep on the right track. It wasn’t long before Wolf heard gunshots in the distance. He began to sprint in the direction of the gunshots, knowing there to be a large cave in that direction. As he once more got closer he heard a bullet whiz past his head. He dropped to the ground and shouted “BLUE ON BLUE” The assault rifle fire stopped and one of the cave occupants shouted back “haul ass Corporal” Wolf did just that, as he got up from the mossy forest dirt and ran straight for the cave entrance and diving over the makeshift barricade the troopers had made. Two of the soldiers held their rifles aimed at Wolf, he looked back at them with distain but raised his hands to show cooperation. He looked around the cave, seeing all the soldiers there were of British origin, and all wearing the insignia of the pack. The soldiers themselves wore a mixture of light and heavy armour, as well as a flak helmet on their head and a camouflage bandana and goggles covering their faces. Thinking quickly wolf slowly pulled his backpack round to his front to show that he had the insignia for the Pack, more specifically Alpha pack, the lead unit for the splinter division of the SAS. The soldiers lowered their weapons and turned their attention back towards the cave mouth. Wolf threw his backpack back over his shoulder and walked over to the defensive line and squatted down next to the members of Bravo Pack. The defensive line was nothing special, just a pile of sandbags atop a mound of rocky soil, but it would keep those behind it from taking an unwanted bullet. Along the line all of the soldiers used differnt weapons, all of which chambered in the same caliber of 5.56. One of the troopers spoke in a somewhat high-pitched voice and said “CO’s back there, helping ferret and Possum tend to the wounded” Wolf nodded and began to walk to the back of the cave to meet with the captain of Bravo Pack, a man he had only heard stories of. The three wounded men where all in bad shape, on who appeared to be the helicopter pilot was covered in second degree burns, the second appeared to be a demolitions technician, he had small puncture wounds all over his torso, suggesting he was too close to one of his explosives and took shrapnel as a memento. The third was in the worst shape as he had a minimum of twelve separate bite marks from a small beaked creature. The captain turned and greeted Wolf, somewhat annoyed “Finally, some reinforcements, how many men did you bring fifty, seventy, a hundred?” Wolf sighed and said “I’m sorry sir, it’s just me, I take it you don’t know where we are” The captain let out a loud sigh before replying “no, I don’t know where we are, and to be frank I don’t care, I just want to know when were gonna get some support and how many soldiers their bringing” “Sir, there are no reinforcements coming, we’re not on earth anymore, and I’m the only support your going to get out here” Wolf said darkly before continuing “welcome to equestria, yet another place ravaged by war, a war I’ve been fighting for the past three years in hopes of getting home” The captain laughed and said “you really expect me to believe that soldier, what’s your name, rank and number” Wolf looked him dead in the eye and pulled down his mask to watch the captains face drop before saying “Corporal Alexander Wolf, Alpha Pack, 13082003, but you already know that from the wall of fallen pack members, don’t you sir” Before the captain could say anything, multiple members of Bravo pack turned and walked towards them, one of which was the squad medic ferret. The captain said “ah, I should probably introduce you to bravo, since all of them enlisted after Alpha’s disappearance, that’s Ferret, our team’s medic, Fox, Bravo’s entrenchment expert, and llama, our heavy support.” The three soldiers stood in disbelieve, until lite sobbing could be heard from behind ferret’s mask before she jumped forward and hugged Wolf tightly before softly whispering “kept me waiting huh” Wolf now recognised that o so familiar scent, a scent he was so close to so long ago, Wolf closed his arms around the masked woman and whispered “sorry to keep you, Alice” Alice stood slightly shorter than Wolf, just enough for Wolf to rest his head on hers, she removed her helmet and mask reviling her golden locks and familiar face. Fox removed his helmet and mask a short red hair and a soft freckled face, one of Wolf and Raptors closest friends, John, and Llama finally took her mask and helmet off revealing brown haired woman, Izabella, Raptors girlfriend. Wolf stood in disbelieve of the faces he saw in front of him, not only his girlfriend, but his best friends as well. He stuttered before asking “ho..how did you get here, why are you here” “that’s what we don’t know, one minute were above Russia, the next we’re plummeting to the ground” said john still confused by the whole ordeal “no, no, what are you doing here with the pack” replied Wolf Alice stepped forward and took Wolfs hands before saying “After your reported death, we wanted vengeance, we all read the reports of your actions so we knew that you couldn’t have died from a firefight, so we joined up to either find you or avenge you” Wolf would have replied if one of the troops on the frontline shouted “CONTACT” The four troopers looked at each other before rushing towards battle positions. Ferret drew a MP5, Fox picked up his M416, llama drove into a fighting position and grabbed her M289 and Wolf unslung his trusty M4 and crouched down next to Alice behind the sandbags and took aim. it Would be the first time any of them saw Wolf in action, but after all the friends he’s lost, he wouldn’t fail them. One of the marines shouted “LEFT SIDE” Wolf twisted rapidly and let out a burst, hitting its target making a loud thump. Before he could even breath he heard twigs snapping to his right and twisted around once more letting out another burst, once again confirming the hit with a thump. A loud crack was heard on the mouth of the cave, leaving bullet holes. Wolf lowered his head, but gradually peaked over the sandbag wall, yet he saw nothing. The trees around him went silent before Wolf plucked a flashbang off of his belt. As he prepped the grenade he shouted “FLASH GOING OUT” The grenade went off with a loud bang, accompanied by a blinding flash off light. The line of soldiers heard squawking in the tree line before what appeared to be a griffon coscript fell from the tree, holding some kind of rifle. Wolf fired another burst at it, to ensure it didn’t get back up. Wolf stood back up and looked around, once more seeing nothing until a fragmentation grenade was thrown into the cave. Without thinking Wolf jumped on top of the grenade and threw it back out the mouth of the cave, but the grenade began to roll back towards the cave. In an attempt to save his friends Wolf jumped inform of the sandbag wall and tossed the grenade further away, but it detonated mid-air, Wolf rapidly turned around and extended his wings, successfully blocking all of the shrapnel. Just as Wolf began to walk back to the sandbag wall, to no doubt answer some awkward questions he began to hear heavy footsteps behind him. He turned to see a human in a suit of heavy armour carrying a rotary machine gun. Wolf dove behind a nearby tree whereas the other soldiers took cover behind the sandbag wall. As the heavily armoured ‘juggernaut’ began to spin up his machine gun Wolf looked at Alice and saw the fear in her eyes. Without taking a second thought Wolf switched his form, letting all his comrades see what he had become before stalking his way around the tree towards the ‘juggernaut’. He rapidly made his way around the tree and lugged at the ‘juggernaut’ catching it off guard causing him to drop the machine gun and attempted to grab what it thought was a large black wolf, but just as it was about to grab him Wolf switched form once more and unloaded the last of his magazine into one of the joint holes around the neck, killing the ‘juggernaut’ almost instantly. Wolf ejected the magazine out of his gun and loaded a fresh one before turning back towards the cave. Captain Winter raised his side arm with a look of disgust on his face. Wolf looked him dead in the eye before continuing to walk forward “stop monster” he shouted “what are you” “I was human before I came here, still mostly am, but that a long story, anyway, the people here did this to me by my request, evidently it was to save not only my life, but Corporal Shaun Raptor's as well and for a while it did” Wolf said, his eyes piercing the captain Before anything else could be said a burst of rounds flew past Wolf's side, barely missing him and hit the mouth of the cave. Wolf took cover behind a tree once more, he checked his ammo pouches to find he only had one mag left for his assault rifle and two for his pistol "You fucking idiot, after six years you cant remember to refill your pouches" he whispered to himself About to peak around the tree another burst of live fire flew past Wolf, this time coming from the mouth of the cave, Initially Wolf thought the rounds were ment for him until he found the tree he was using as cover was covered with blood, with a human corpse next to it. Wolf didnt think about it before peeking around the blood soaked tree and seeing three more human soldiers rushing towards the cave entrance. Wolf hid back behind the tree and drew his kukri and readied it. As the footsteps got closer Wolf swung the blade outward, directly infront of one of the soldiers, the soldier in question had no time to react before the blade went through his neck like a hot knife through butter. As Wolf readied himself to fight the other two hostiles in hand to hand combat the cave move lit up more than fireworks on the forth of july, gunning the two down where they stood Wolf looked back towards the cave to see Fox and Llama arguing with Captain Arctic. Before anyone could stop her Alice ran from behind the sandbags towards Wolf and embraced him before saying “I don’t care what you are, you’re still the man I fell in love with” Wolf smiled before going into the cave, once inside he sat upon a large stone and filled the rest of the now stranded soldiers in on the events of the past two years. One soldier pipped up "holy shit, so your telling me that this place was ruled by talking ponies, griffons and shapeshifting bugs, if i hadn't just seen you turn into a literal wolf I'd ask what you've been smoking" Wolf stood back up and asked "so, you guys wanna come back with me" The others looked at each other, Ferret, Fox and Llama already had their equipment packed, and Captain Arctic sat with a disgruntled look on his face, one by one the other soldiers grabbed their equipment and joined Wolf at the mouth of the cave, six of whom were carrying their brethren who were too wounded to move, the rest carrying equipment or dismantling the makeshift defences, the captain finally stood up, but was met with the barrel of Wolfs M9. Wolf's piercing blood red eyes stared directly at Arctic's hands before he said sternly "Command works differently around here Captain, unless the princesses say otherwise your under my command, understand" The captain said nothing and just nodded before Wolf lowered his sidearm and quickly reholstered it. Wolf left the cave and the marines followed behind, as they went through the forrest Alice approached Wolf and put a hand on one of his wings, feeling a cold metallic shell, yet a hint of warmth from underneath it. Wolf looked back at her and smiled, still in disbelief that she was here, after two years he didn't know what to say, but then he looked at llama and wondered how he would break the bad news to her. Alice leaned forward and kissed Wolf's cheek, making his face turn bright red. She bagan to speak in a soft voice "so, alex, i suppose your angry about me going and doing the one thing you told me not to do but i had good reason to" Wolf cut her off by saying "after two year of scrapping by, im just happy to have you back, i cant remember the last time i was this happy" Alice blushed before asking "so these princesses, Celestia, Luna and Cadence, how are they, are they nice, strict, caring or brutal" Wolf laughed before replying "well Luna is kind and caring towards all creatures on our side, Cadence is the same, but Celestia seems to have a stick shoved so far up her arse towards me" "How so, i thought she of all of them would be grateful to have you with them" Alice asked, making more than a good point Wolf slightly slowed down before continuing "she always seems to go against my ideas or decisions, its like she always expects me to attempt to overthrow her, which is strange because they've offered me a place on their war council before shit went sideways" Before Alice could ask another question Wolf Raised his fist, signalling to the others to stop, the three guards, Ferret, Possum and another Soldier called Python raised their rifles until Wolf placed a hand on Ferrets barrel, Before doing anything else Wolf whistled in a strange pattern. After waiting a few seconds a handful of guard ponies approached the group and looked at them. One of them said in excitement "more creatures like Wolf, were gonna win this war in no time" The others looked on in awe before Llama reached out her hand and said "my names Izabella, Wolf's told us alot about your people's stuggle and were here to help" The excited pony gave a screech of joy before allowing the group to pass. As they got closer to the castle more and more ponies turned and looked at the group before Twilight and Applejack appeared from around a corner. "Wolf where have you been, Celestia's about to blow a fuse" said Applejack, not noticing the other humans behind him Wolf stepped aside and said "just went to get some backup" Twilight gasped before running around the group of people with a quill and paper held by magic, taking note after note about the other humans. However before she could ask Wolf anything he said "Twi, would you mind showing our new arrivals to their quarters" Twilight nodded, to deep in her own mind to comprehend what had just been asked of her before slowly walking into the castle with almost all the new allies behind her. Alice on the other hand stayed with Wolf and followed him to the war room, unbeknownst to him. When he got their the first thing he asked was "whats the situation, Griffons, Changelings, Timberwolves?" Luna spoke calmly "nothing of the sort, we had sent Rainbow Dash to your room to check on you, but when she returned she said the room was empty and it seemed like you left in a hurry" Alice stood quietly directly behind Wolf, hoping not to be noticed before Wolf replied "i was awoken this morning by a distress call coming through my radio, when i answered it i found out that a second, larger group of human soldiers had been transported somehow to equestria, just like me and Raptor, i went to go bring them back here before they got lost in the everfree" Cadence stepped forth before asking "i sense something differnt about your emotions, you seem almost impossibly happy about this situation, tell us, was there anybody close to you in this group of soldiers" Before Wolf could reply Alice stepped out from behind him and said "forgive the intrusion your highness' but i along with a couple of Alex close friends were with this group" Luna smiled, insinuating that she knew exactly who Alice was to Wolf and said "i see, we will trouble you no longer Wolf and miss?" "Alice" replied Wolf "i hope you will inform Celestia of the good news" "Indeed" said Cadence before the two alicorn regals left the room As the reunited couple left the room Alice asked "so, did they not know your name or..." Wolf sighed before replying "at the start i didn't want to get attached, Rapt.., Shaun went along with it, even when it was just us, either way it didnt help, and it hit me like a truck when he...." Alice stopped him before saying "babe, he was your brother, you two couldn't be separated until you left, but he's always with you, fighting by your side, even if you cant see him" Wolf opened the door to his bunk before turning to Alice. All of his emotions he had repressed where finally coming out as he began to sob. Alice pulled him close and held him there until he stopped ctying, then dried his tears. No words were ever needed for how much Alex cared for Shaun, but it was hard to see that in equestria, Wolf kept up a shield of anger or hatred to stop himself from looking weak, but before equestria he was just Alex, a man abused by his parents, only having a small group of trusted friends, and only loving Alice. Alice kissed Alex before softly whispering "its all ok now, your not alone anymore" Alex mustered a light, yet real smile before looking around his bunk and saying "well, this is where ive been sleeping, well when im here anyway, i know its not much but, its home know that your here" "I like it, its cosy and perfect for just the two of us, but please tell me that theirs a lock on the door" Alice said, making Wolf's face go red Wolf stuttered before saying "well, we have a few hours before sunset, and as much as i hate to say it but we need to clean that bed of dust before we can sleep on it" The couple got to work cleaning up their bunk room, cleaning off the large bed and dressers of dust, rearranging the furniture in a way that would give them more space for future developments and finally taking down Wolfs hammock, as he wouldnt be sleeping alone anymore. There was a knock on the thick wooden door just as the pair finished sorting out their room. Alice opened it to meet six colourful ponies on the other side before they started to bombard her with questions, but Alex quickly put a stop tomthat by saying "sorry guys its getting late, and we're about to get some rest, can we answer your questions tomorrow" The ponies simply nodded before leaving as Alex closed the door "You didnt need to lie and say we're going to sleep" Alice said, hiding a slight laugh "Who said i was lying" Alex yawned as he flopped onto the bed Alice joined him and the pair chatted before dozing off, but it wasnt to last for Alex as he was plagued by the same nightmare he always had, loosing his squad and fighting through a terrorist outpost to find them all dead. His squad mate screams of terror and pain as he made his way through the outpost filled his ears, making him roll in his sleep. Alice woke before Alex to see him shaking his head side to side as his legs moved back and forth, all as he was sweating profusely. As he finally woke from his nightmare Alice crawled beside him and cuddled into him. "Same nightmare" she asked Alex simply sighed, which was more than enough to tell her that it was "Do you remember what happened after that, Shaun found you and began to extract you when you came under fire, Shaun took a bullet and you picked up a rifle and saved not only the squad, but the village that you were in as well, what happened that day was horrible, but it wasn't your fault, but you did all you could to make it right and still bear the scars, both physically and mental, you may not like it but you were always Shauns hero, and you'll always be mine, nothing could ever change that" she kissed his cheek before continuing "you always make me feel safe, no matter what happened, but please get some rest" Alex put his arm over Alice as he thought she had fell asleep, but it must have been at least another hour before he began sleep again, but over the hour period he was muttering what Alice had said to him, making a still awake Alice smile as the night passed the love filled couple by. Author's Note So, before i start this let me apologise for the lack of work being published recently, lives been tough for the past few months, but im back in the saddle (hopefully) but anyway, after this chapter Wolf's character will have two sides, Wolf and Alex, Wolf being the tough, angry and furious side, wheras Alex will be the more soft, loving and caring side. Also this is my first story but expect a new chapter per week Chapter 1: The beginning The sun was shining brightly in the light blue sky, the large green field littered with flowers, too many to count. Everypony thought it was going to be an average day, little did they know something was going to happen that would change their lives forever. Our story begins with a squad of marines flying a UH-1Y Venom desperately trying to avoid the fire from a hostile MI-28 Havoc. "Raptor" shouted one of the gunners "if you keep flying like you have your thumb up your ass we're all gonna die" Another soldier currently attempting to weld the bullet holes back together piped up "Focus on shooting that Havoc and lay off the pilot." The two men argued back and forth until the other gunner was shot out of his position, causing the two men to stop bickering like children and to focus on the task at hand. Before they could stop the Havoc from firing upon their helicopter the pilot shouted something that made all hope seem lost "the tail rotor's been hit." The two men started panicking, considering bailing from the helicopter, as the pilot had managed to get some control back for the tail rotor. "Raptor" shouted the last man in the helicopter "turn the helicopter so that I can see the Havoc." The pilot known as Raptor obliged attempting to turn the helicopter. As soon as the man saw the Havocs cockpit he raised his rifle and shouted to the man next to him "LIGHT THEM THE FUCK UP" has he shouted the order to his squad mate he opened fire, the gunner never letting his finger off of the trigger, the man rapidly firing and loading his bolt action rifle. The Havoc didn't have enough time to react before his cockpit was full of holes. The remaining squad members cheer at the sight of the Havoc spinning around in circles, but their victory was short lived Although the pilot had been killed the Havok kept spinning closer and closer, before the men realised the now empty Havok crashed into the side of them causing them to lose control. Before the men could bail out the out of control Viper they crashed into the side of a building, causing all of the remaining to be knocked out.
