Chapters Somewhere I Belong: A Teen Titans Story
~Narrator's POV~
It as a peaceful Summer night in the city of Jump City. I was on my way home from one of my late evening strolls around the city, when I glanced up to the night sky and saw a large, falling star heading toward the center of the city. What was strange about it was that the star was green and looked around the size of a human being.
Finally, some excitement in this boring city.
Oh, I guess I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Eleanor May Carter, but my friends and family call me Elle, or Ellie. Well, I don't have any friends, so only my family calls me Elle or Ellie. I'm 14 years old, and I'm… Not really your average young girl.
Well, for one thing, I'm from Earth, even though I don't look like it. I was born in an Earth where there was no such thing as superheroes, no magic or talking, anthropomorphic animals. Years ago, being lonely had had no hope to better my life, I made a wish upon a star and I woke up, as a green anthropomorphic pony and found by a family of other anthropomorphic ponies, called 'Eponians'. And I've been here ever since.
So, no. I am not a normal girl from Jump City.
Anywho, I decided to follow the falling star and it crashed in the center of the city, near a good pizza restaurant and townsfolk gathered around the crater the star created when it crashed.
What climbed out of the crater surprised everyone. It was a girl around 15 years old. Her hair was lower-back length and was a fiery red color. Her eyes were glowing a bright green color. Her skin was a golden tone. Almost tanned. She wore a dark purple tank top, skirt and boots with armor plating over her arms and legs. Including a helmet-like crown framing her heart-shaped face.
The thing about her that caught my eye was that her hands and forearms were cuffed together by a pair of alien-like shackles.
My eyes widen in surprise, as my human memories flashed before me. I know that color scheme and I recognize those glowing green eyes anywhere. The kind-hearted, strong and independent Tamaranean princess, Koriand'r. Also known in the English language as Starfire!
The Tamaranean princess slid down the crater, shouting at the townsfolk, "Slorf glorbmi nor mut! Slorg for! Unt sortik soro! Hah! "
But everyone backed away from her in fear that she might want to hurt them. An Eponian man flashed a camera in her face, which temporarily blinded Starfire. Once she recovered from the flash, she started throwing her arms around and throwing them into any objects in her path, creating a path of destruction.
Everyone ran to safety, while I backed into a nearby alley, thinking of what to do.
Once everything calmed down and Starfire was finished throwing her arms around the street, she stood in the middle of the road and tried to force the cuffs apart. But to no avail. I narrowed my eyes at the Tamaranean girl. Something around here is not what it seems.
I put the hood of my hoodie over my head and emerged from the alley, approaching the girl. Starfire turned to me and growled, aiming her cuffs at me, "Gogta! "
I raised my hands, "It's okay, Koriand'r. My name is Eleanor. I just want to help you." Then I asked, "Can you understand me?"
The Tamaranean princess looked at me and tilted her head. Then she nodded. Good, that means progress. I took a step closer to the girl and slowly lowered my hands over the cuffs.
The girl glared at me, but I assured her, "It's okay. Watch." I placed my hands over the cuffs and softly chanted an incantation.
White and pale blue energy enveloped the cuffs and there was a clicking sound. After a few seconds, the energy vanished, and the cuffs remained.
I lowered my hands, sighed and rubbed my temple. The girl looked at me. "Sorry. That's the best I can do to help you." I apologized.
Oh… Yeah. I forgot to mention that there's another thing that makes me not normal. I have powers now. I have an affinity for the mystical arts. I can use psychokinesis. I can teleport with my psychokinesis. And even sense a person's emotions. Like an empath.
But I live with a family that hides me from the human eye. So, I have very little practice with my powers and very little control. I've been able to do very little things with my powers, and I'm hoping that I can do more and use them to their full extent. Like… Maybe… Fight for the greater good. Fight for justice. Like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. I want to be like them.
Anywho, Starfire looked over to her right and saw a concrete-covered iron column, which supported the balcony of the pizza restaurant. She charged toward the column and began whacking her cuffs against it, shouting in her native tongue again, "Zalp! Yon! Mesna! "
Suddenly, a familiar weapon, a bird-a-rang, flew toward the girl and hit her at the side of the helmet. She missed the column and waving her arms in the air. The girl recovered and turned her attention to where the bird-a-rang originated from.
Standing on top of an undamaged car, was a young, light blue, Eponian colt, roughly 14 years old. He was lean built with spiky ravenette mane and tail with a gelled shine. He wore a domino mask over, with a white membrane over his eyes. A red tunic with yellow sleeves and green gloves. Upon his tunic, on the left pectoral, was a black circle with a yellow 'R' in the center. Short black cape with a golden-yellow inside draped over his shoulders. Golden utility belt around his waist, and green leggings.
My eyes widen in recognition and surprise. The boy was Robin, one of Batman's sidekicks. What's Robin doing here in Jump City? Shouldn't he be in Gotham with the Dark Knight?
"Who are you?" Robin asked Starfire, taking a martial arts stance.
Without a second thought, Starfire charged at Robin, thrashing her arms at him. Robin dodged every hit, causing the alien girl to hit nothing but walls and the ground. I tried to stop the fighting, but none of the fighters were listening to me. Robin watched in surprise, as the Starfire used her foot to pick up an un-damaged car and kicked it towards him. An incredible feat of strength.
Luckily, Robin ducked and the car flew past him and into a building on the other side of the street.
"Stronger than she looks." Robin noted, until he noticed her charging towards him.
Robin quickly dodged, but his landing wasn't as smooth. He got his bo-staff and hit Starfire at full force. The impact caused the alien girl to fly into another car. Robin took another stance, but his staff crumbled in his hands.
Starfire stood back and cracked her neck back in place, smiling, "Souta... "
She jumped to attack the boy again, but a green billy goat charged into her and knocked her off aim. The goat transformed into a strange, young green boy, wearing a black and purple outfit, with grey gloves and a black and grey mask.
"Ex-Doom Patrol member, Beast Boy, sir. How can I help-" The boy, Beast boy, introduced himself with a salute. Until he realized who he was talking to, "Wowsers. You're Robin, aren't you, sir?"
I widen my eyes at the green lad. That was Beast Boy. That only left Cyborg and Raven to join the fight.
"Well, you can start by not calling me, 'sir'." Robin told Beast Boy with a stern voice.
Beast Boy's eyes sparkled with admiration, "Well, let me just say, that it's a real honor to-"
"Beast Boy, was it?" Robin asked, cutting Beast Boy off.
"Yes, sir?" Beast Boy asked.
Robin pointed to where Beast Boy charged Starfire. Starfire picked up a large bus and threw it at the boys. Robin and Beast Boy dodged, but another figure jumped in and threw the bus beside it.
It was a larger, muscular teenager, wearing a grey hoodie, black pants, and gloves. However, he was wearing his hood up, only showing the lower half of his face, which showed that he was of African American descent, and his odd eyes. His right was regular with dark iris and pupil, his left was red and robotic.
"Yo! Who here's messing up my neighborhood?" The athlete shouted with an accent.
I recognize that voice anywhere. Cyborg! That only leaves... Raven...
"She started it!" Beast Boy answered, pointing to Starfire.
Starfire growled out of frustration and threw her arms into the ground, creating a small earthquake. After the aftershock was cleared, the boys noticed the shackles fell, revealing another pair of shackles, but her hands were showing. Now I remember why my attempt didn't work. Her cuffs were layered!
The alien girl aimed her hands at the boys, and orbs of green energy flew toward their direction.
The boys took cover behind the bus while I took cover in a nearby alley. Starfire fired her starbolts of emerald green energy in various areas, creating a trail of destruction on the buildings and road. She fell to her knees in exhaustion.
"Girl's gonna wreck the whole city." Cyborg told Robin and Beast Boy.
"I won't let her." Robin answered, punching his hand, "I won't lose this fight!"
With that, Robin, Beast Boy and Cyborg exit the bus and dashed toward Starfire. However, this was finally a chance to try and stop this senseless fighting.
I jumped out of the shadows and ran in between Starfire and Robin, facing the Boy Wonder and my arms stretched out wide, "Stop! She's had enough!"
Robin glared at me, "Step aside. This doesn't concern you."
I stood my ground, my body surrounded by an aura of white and pale blue energy, ready to fight the Boy Wonder. This fight isn't going anywhere, and people are going to get hurt when this goes too far. I don't care who I shout at, even if I am younger, this fighting must stop!
Suddenly, a wall of dark energy appeared behind me, in the form of a giant raven. Behind the boys, an older girl materialized from the black energy. "She's right." The girl answered in an eerie roll in her voice, "Maybe fighting isn't the answer."
The boys turned to look at the girl. She looked about 15 years old. Pale grey skin, violet hair and violet eyes. She wore a black leotard with matching gloves and dark blue shoes and a dark blue hooded cloak. Upon her cloak was a ruby broach, and a ruby belt around her waist.
My eyes widen in recognition. Raven...
Raven glanced at me for a second, then looked away from everyone else, the wall dissolving away. Robin turned to me and looked at the Tamaranean princess, who was still on her knees, taking deep breaths.
"Stand down." He instructed.
I lowered my arms and stepped aside, the aura of black and green mist vanishing. Beast Boy gave a salute.
"What? You think you're the boss, or something?" The athlete asked him.
"Just give me a chance." Robin told him. He walked toward the alien girl.
Starfire got back up to her feet and aimed her starbolt orbs at Robin, who backed slowly. "Gogta! " She warned.
"Easy. My name is Robin. And I don't want to hurt you. I just want to help." Robin assured her, slowly getting something out of his belt.
"Gogta! Gogta obo rogna! " Starfire warned again.
"It's okay. Look." Robin smiled, showing her his lockpick.
The girl stared at him for a moment, then lowered her arms, the orbs disappearing, and her eyes stopped glowing, revealing a pair of emerald green eyes. Robin reached for the cuffs and started picking the locks. After a few seconds, there was a loud click and the cuffs fell to the ground. Starfire rubbed her wrists in wonder and discomfort.
"There." Robin smiled, "Now, maybe, we can be-" Robin was cut off when the Tamaranean princess pulled him toward herself for a kiss.
After a few seconds, Starfire released the kiss and pushed Robin to the ground, speaking in full English, "If you wish not to be destroyed, you will leave me alone!"
With that, she took off to the sky and flew away, leaving the rest of us to watch her in silence and surprise.
Beast Boy looked at me and decided to break the silence, "So… I'm Beast Boy. Who are you?"
The group looked around the destruction.
"Well, whoever she was. The girl sure knows how to make an impression." Cyborg spoke up.
Beast Boy smiled, "I think we made a pretty good impression. Crazy Space Girl is gone. The city is saved. Mission accomplished." Then he turned to Robin, "Right, sir?"
"Seriously, stop calling me that." Robin told him.
"Roger." Beast Boy saluted.
"Looks like we're done here. I appreciate the help." Robin thanked us.
"You're going to track down the alien?" Raven asked.
"I have to find out if she's a threat." Robin answered, as he walked off.
"More like, find out if she'll give him another kiss." Cyborg muttered, as he turned to leave.
Beast Boy ran after Robin, "Hey sir? I mean.. Robin? Do you, maybe..."
"Sorry. I just went solo. I'm not really looking to join another team." Robin answered Beast Boy's question.
"Need a sidekick?" Beast Boy asked, but got no answer. He looked and saw the goth, the athlete and I going our own way. "You guys wanna get a pizza?" He asked.
Raven stopped and looked at him, "I really shouldn't." Then she continued walking away.
Beast Boy looked at me.
"I'd love to, Beast Boy. " I answered, but lowered my head, "But I need to get home before my parents get worried." Then I turned and walked down the road.
Beast Boy followed Cyborg, "Just you and me then, huh? Cool. I never had anyone to hang out, since I quit the Doom Patrol. This is gonna be fun. We play video ga-?"
Cyborg stopped, causing Beast Boy to walk into him. He removed his hood and showed his face. It was half cybernetic with light blue parts.
"There! Take a good long look! I had an accident, and now I'm a monster, alright? A cyborg!" He shouted.
His words caused me to stop and look at him with sad eyes under my hood. A monster, huh? Guess he and I are on the same page. There's a reason I'm wearing my hood up and I'd rather not say...
"Cyborg? Cool." Beast Boy smiled, taking a good look at Cyborg's face, "You're like Robotman 2.0."
"You're a weird little dude, you know that?" Cyborg stated.
Beast Boy giggled, "You called me 'dude'."
Cyborg put his hood back on and continued walking.
"Okay, well... See you later. Right, dude?" Beast Boy called, but got no answer. "Dude?" He tried again, but no answer. Then a large shadow cast over the city. Beast Boy looked and saw what it was, "DUDE!"
The shadow was cast by a large spaceship. From below the ship, fired a large strange rocket.
"Looks like Space Girl has friends." Cyborg noted.
"Or enemies." Robin added, joining in.
A large hologram of a large amphibious lizard alien appeared in the sky.
"People of Earth. We come to your planet hunting an escaped prisoner. A very dangerous prisoner. Do not interfere. And we will leave your city with only minimum damage. But if you attempt to assist her, your destruction will be absolute." He announced in a sinister voice.
The rocket opened to reveal a large group of the amphibious lizard alien species.
"That's a big ship." Cyborg observed.
"And those are some scary looking aliens." Beast Boy added, as Gordanians flew into the city to look for their 'escaped prisoners', which caused me to put my hood over my head.
"They told us not to interfere." Raven reminded.
"But I feel there's more to this than just a 'search and collect'." I spoke up.
"You're still going after her, aren't you?" Cyborg asked Robin. Robin nodded.
"Can we came too?" Beast Boy asked.
Robin smiled, "I suppose I could team up, just this once." The others smiled.
The group began walking down the street to begin their search for the red-haired alien girl. I, on the other hand, just stood there and sulked.
I wanted to join the crusade, but I have already missed my curfew, and if my family found out, this means we'll have to move again. I'm tired of moving. I loved Gotham City, and I like Jump City.
"You in?" Robin asked me.
I looked at the group, then sulked, shaking head, "I-I'm not really the hero type. Trust me. You wouldn't want to be my friend, if you knew what I am." Raven's eyes widened at my statement.
I turned to leave, but Robin placed his hand over my shoulder, "I insist you help us out."
I turned and stared at the young hero, and nodded. I suppose there's no harm in trying for a little while.
*A Little Later...*
The group hid in an alley, hiding from Gordanians, as they looked for me and Starfire.
"Alright. We need some way to track-" "She's near." Raven cut Robin off. She got a couple of confused looks. "I-I can sense things." She explained.
I closed my eyes and put my fingers over my temples, focusing on the aura of the red-haired alien girl.
One of my powers is being able to sense, feel and track auras of other people. Like an empath if you will. Once I'm able to remember the aura, I can track it like a bloodhound.
I started reading Starfire's aura the moment I saw her. She had an aura of vibrant colors and strong emotions that make her very hard to ignore. I can sense her aura streaming the sky like an aurora. Within the darkness, something began to clear. I was landing in front of what looked like a video store. I raised my hands and fired starbolt energy around the door.
Okay, that's new...
I opened my eyes with a quiet gasp, then ran down the alley. I was able to track and pinpoint the red-haired girl's location! She's at the video store! Robin, Beast Boy, Cyborg and Raven followed close behind me, to the video store.
Once there, we found that the door was melted down in a circular form. Inside was Starfire, eating the store's snacks. Some of the still with the wrapper on them.
"Uh... Those taste better without the wrapper." Beast Boy said, catching her attention.
Starfire turned to face us, with her emerald green starbolt orbs appearing and growled. The others backed away for safety.
"It's alright. We're friends, remember?" Robin reminded.
"Friends? Why? For what purpose did you free me?" Starfire asked.
"Just trying to be nice." Robin answered with an uneasy smile.
"Nice? We do not have this word on my planet. Closest in 'Ruthar '. Weak!" She explained.
"Well, around here, nice means nice. And if you want us to keep being nice, you'd better tell us why the lizard king took you prisoner." Cyborg told her.
Starfire calmed and sulked, deciding to speak up, "Not a prisoner. I am prize. The Gordanians deliver me to the Citadel. To live out the rest of my days as their servant."
"And the Citadel are...?" Raven asked.
"Not nice." Starfire answered.
"Then you're not going with them. Not if I have anything to say about it." Robin assured her, smiling. I nodded with a smile of my own.
"Um... Don't you mean 'we'?" Beast Boy corrected.
Suddenly, an explosion cut the conversation short. The lizard aliens, Gordanians, have arrived.
"Seize her!" One of the lizards shouted.
The group went into battle and were able to hold their own. Robin used his bo-staff. Beast Boy morphed into his animal forms. Cyborg and Starfire used their physical strength. Raven used dark energy. And I used a mixture of martial arts and street fighting that I taught myself during my midnight walks.
Starfire started using her emerald green energy orbs, but the Gordanians were able to ground her. Robin noticed and threw his opponent into the alien girl's opponent. Starfire smiled in gratitude. Robin smiled back, but didn't notice the Gordanian behind him.
I gasped and noticed the Gordanian about to attack Robin from behind, "Robin, look out!"
In a sudden sprint, I pushed Robin out of the way and took the Gordanian's attack, knocking my hood off my head.
This made Robin and Starfire angry, as they resumed fighting the Gordanians. Another Gordanian was fighting Cyborg, using its spear as an advantage. Cyborg dodged the best he can, but got his outfit ripped to sheds, revealing most of his body was cybernetic, a cyborg.
Cyborg snapped the weapon in half and threw the Gordanian into a group. The remaining Gordanians fired lasers at Cyborg. Luckily, the Beast Boy morphed into a pterodactyl and lifted Cyborg to safety. Raven used her dark energy as a form of telekinesis, and used a street lamp as a golf club to attack the remaining Gordanians. The remaining Gordanians retreated.
"I believe your expression is... 'Thanks'." Starfire thanked us, as everything calmed down.
"Aw man. My suit." Cyborg sulked at his ruined outfit.
"So? You look way cooler without it." Beast Boy complimented with a smile.
"Yeah. Like I'm taking fashion advise from the guy in a goofy mask." Cyborg pointed out.
"Goofy? My mask is cool! Isn't it, Raven?" Beast Boy asked Raven.
Cyborg and Raven shook their heads.
"But... But what about my secret identity?" Beast Boy asked, pulling his mask.
"What secret identity? You're green." Raven pointed out.
Beast Boy tried to answer, but realized she had a good point. So he removed his mask, revealing a young, green, elf boy.
I recovered from the attack and got back on my feet, rubbing the left side my torso.
"This isn't over. Now that we've interfered..." Robin began.
"Trogar will strike harder. It is only a matter of-" Starfire tried to finish, until the leader, Trogar, appeared again.
"Fools! The Earth scum were warned. Your insolence will be punished. Your city shall be destroyed!" The lizard alien leader, Trogar, shouted. His hologram disappeared and the ship flew over the city and readied a large weapon.
"Great." Raven said blankly.
"So, after trashing the pizza place and perfectly good video store, now we've managed to make a humongous space gecko mad enough to vaporize our entire town?" Beast Boy summed up.
"Go team." Cyborg blankly cheered.
"All the fault is yours!" Starfire turned to Robin, "I commanded you to leave me alone, but you insisted upon the 'being nice'!"
"My fault?!" Robin argued back, "You blasted me, you kissed me, but you never stop to mention that they have a gigantic particle weapon?!"
Then the two started arguing.
"We are doomed! I can't believe you talked me into this!" Beast Boy shouted at Cyborg, getting into an argument with him.
Raven and I put our fingers over our temples, trying to ignore the arguing, but it wasn't helping.
"QUIET!" Raven and I shouted, getting everyone's attention. Raven waved timidly, "Hi..."
"Look, it doesn't matter how we got into this mess. We're in it. And we will get out of it, together." I told the group.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Robin nodded and smiled, "Come on. We've got a city to save."
*A Little Later, Inside the Ship...*
Raven used her dark energy to teleport everyone into the ship.
Beast Boy shivered, "That dark energy stuff gives me the-" Beast Boy stopped, as he noticed Raven and I glaring at him. "I mean... It's cool. Heh." He corrected with his thumbs up.
Robin looked across the hallway, "We have to get to the firing controls. There isn't much time."
Robin walked down the corridor, followed by Starfire, Beast Boy and Cyborg. Raven and I stayed behind. I lowered my head and sulked. Something at the back of my mind keeps telling me that I don't belong with these young teens. Never will. If that's true, what was the point of sending me to this universe?
"Mind telling me why you are always by yourselves?" Cyborg asked me and Raven, snapping me back to reality
"You heard the kid. I don't exactly fit in..." Raven answered.
Cyborg placed his hand over Raven shoulder, "Look, he's green. Half of me is metal. And she's from space. You'll fit in just fine." Then he turned to me, "You seem to know a lot about what's going on. You'll fit in with us as well."
Cyborg, Raven and I returned to the rest of the group. Robin kept lookout.
"I bring you apology." Starfire apologized.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sorry I yelled too." Robin apologized back.
"And again, you are 'nice'. On my world, only my Knorfga has shown me such kindness." She smiled.
"Well, things are different here." Robin smiled.
His smile caused Starfire to blush, until the moment was ruined by Beast Boy.
"Uh... Guys? I think they know we're here." Beast Boy pointed, at a small group of Gordanians ran towards them, ready for a fight.
Meanwhile, at the main bridge, the Gordanians were readying the weapon.
"Lord Trogar, the weapon has reached full power." One of the Gordanians informed the leader.
"Then begin the firing sequence." Trogar ordered.
The Gordanians began the sequence, and activated the countdown.
"The Earth scum shall learn. It takes more than six juvenile heroes to defy the mighty Lord Trogar." Trogar gloated.
The weapon was ready to fire, until an explosion, behind Trogar, shut down the weapon. The smoke cleared to reveal...
"We're not six heroes. We're one team." Robin told Trogar.
Trogar roared and everyone ran into battle. Everyone was able to hold their own against most of the Gordanians. Beast Boy used his kangaroo form, until Trogar threw him into a wall, in his human form.
Trogar aimed to finish him, but Raven stepped in and used a shield to protect herself. Trogar was able to break the shield, and aimed to finish her, until Robin jumped onto his head and gave him a few hits. However, Trogar caught him and threw him into another wall.
Starfire gasped in worry, "Robin!"
Trogar dashed to attack her. Out of anger, Starfire threw her starbolts. I attacked with a blast of magical energy. However, they had little effect on the Gordanian leader.
Trogar caught Starfire and threw her into the floor a couple of times, but she punched her way free from his grip. Cyborg joined the alien girl and myself, as we triple-teamed Trogar.
However, Trogar was able to punch us back, causing us to join Robin. Cyborg's arm jumped a little.
"Can you rewire that into some sort of weapon?" Robin asked.
"I can try." Cyborg asked.
Trogar stood above the group.
"Get away from my friends!" Raven shouted, then she chanted, "Azarath Metrion Zinthoz!"
Her spell caused a large explosion, which caused the ship to fall into the harbor. The Gordanians were down for the count, except Trogar, who glared at Raven, sharped his claws and aimed to attack her.
However, a large blast of blue energy hit his back and knocked him out. The blast came from Cyborg arm, which was in the form of a cannon.
"Alright. I'm only gonna say this once. Cyborg smiled, "Booyah."
Everyone else smiled in victory.
*The Next Morning...*
The team was enjoying the scenery of the city from the island.
"That's quite a view." Raven said in awe.
"Somebody oughta build a house out here." Cyborg said in the same tone.
"Yeah, if you like sunshine, and the beach." Beast Boy joked, nudging Raven, who was hearing her hood down.
Raven lightly smiled, "You know, you're kind of funny."
"You think I'm funny?" Beast Boy asked, then smiled in excitement, "Oh, dude. I know some jokes."
Raven sweat-dropped.
"Please, I look nice?" Starfire asked from behind us, as she was wearing a new outfit, which was like her old one. But light purple, no crown and no metal plating, but arm and neck braces.
The others smiled in approval.
"I still don't know your name." Robin pointed out to the alien girl.
"In your language, it would be Star...fire." Starfire introduced herself.
"Starfire." I repeated with a smile, "It suits you."
"Welcome to Earth, Starfire." Robin welcomed with a smile, then he turned and smiled at me, "I think you should join us. We can use someone like you."
I frowned and shook my head, "I already told you. I'm not the hero type." I looked at the city, "My family is probably wondering where I am." I turned to the group, "I hope we get to hang out again. Last night was exciting." I shook Robin's hand, "It was an honor teaming with you, Robin. I'll probably see you again in the near future."
With that, I dived into the water and made my way back home. Once I got home, I grabbed a towel, went to my room and sat on my bed. I felt something round in my hand. I opened my hand and there was a round, yellow, communication device with a 'T' in the middle.
A small smile grew on my face.
Somewhere I Belong: A Teen Titans Story
Machinery. That's all I could hear. I opened my eyes to find myself in a dark machine factory. All of the machinery was working. Inside the factory was a man sitting on a throne, atop a raised platform. He was wearing full body armor and a mask that only showed his left eye. The aura this man gave off gave me the shivers down my spine.
A large man, made of stone, entered a spotlight in front of the man, carrying a large canister of liquid and a sleeping man inside.
"Cinderblock. I see that your mission was a success. Good." The man on the throne praised in a deep and sinister calm voice, "We will proceed with phase two. Wake him."
The man of stone, Cinderblock, strained to twist the knob, at the top of the canister. He successfully released the knob and pressure was released in a cloud of frozen smoke.
Once the smoke cleared, the man began to stir, "I'm...awake?" Then he started to panic, "I should never be awake! I'm only human when I'm sleeping!"
"For what I had in mind, your human form is useless. I need Plasmus." The man on the throne answered calmly.
On cue, the man's form began swell and distort within the tank, causing the glass to bulge, crack, and finally shatter. What came of what was left of the container was a mass of purplish plasma, or substance, that overwhelmed Cinderblock, accompanied by more fumes from the liquid inside.
When the view cleared, the overhead light went out. The ooze formed itself into a large, roughly-shaped humanoid form with an extremely wide mouth and small yellowish glowing eyes. The beast roared, and everything went black.
I woke up with a start, gasping for air and wiping the sweat from my brow. I looked out the window and noticed it was still nightfall. I caught my breath and rested my head upon my pillow, trying to go back to sleep. But to no avail.
*The Next Morning...*
~Eleanor May Carter's POV~
It was morning and I sat up with a yawn and a stretch. I got out of bed and performed my morning routine; Grabbing my glasses, brushing my teeth and getting dressed in my casual attire. My casual attire consisted of a white collared shirt under a black hoodie and a pair of dark olive green cargo pants.
It's been a few weeks since the invasion of the Gordanians and Starfire's arrival to Earth. But now, the Teen Titans have been formed and Titans Tower was built as their base of operations. I'm relieved that my family haven't caught wind of that I've been hanging out with the team of superheroes yet. I'm tired of hiding from the public eye. I'm tired of moving because of my family's hatred of superheroes. And I'm tired of not having any friends!
Once I got dressed and ready for the day, I checked my schedule. Turns out I was free for the day. Must be a weekend.
I can go hang out with the Titans today! Yay!
Maybe learn how to control my powers with Raven. Train with Robin. Maybe help Cyborg in the garage. Or help Starfire understand Earth customs. Oooh! That will be fun.
I made my way downstairs to meet my family. My foster father was in the living room, drinking coffee. My mother and younger sister were in the kitchen, eating breakfast.
"Morning, Ellie." My foster mother greeted with a smile, as I entered the kitchen, "Did you sleep well?"
I shook my head and took a seat next to my foster sister, "No. Not really. I had a bad nightmare last night."
"Really? What was it about?" My foster mother asked me, as she placed a plate of toast and strawberry jam in front of me.
"I'd rather not say." I answered, as I took a bite.
After fifteen minutes of eating, I decided it was time to head to Titans Tower.
"I'm off. Don't wait for me." I called, as I made my way to the doorway and exit the apartment.
I ran down the street and swam across the harbor to Titan Island. The security systems recognized me and allowed access inside the main foyer. I took the elevator to the main living room.
Once inside, I found Starfire in the kitchen. Beast Boy on the floor, gagging and on all-fours making funny faces. Raven was looking over a bank of monitors and Robin was staring over the city, out of the window. But Cyborg was nowhere to be seen.
"Uh... Hey guys." I greeted with uncertainty, "Did I miss something?"
Starfire turned to me and smiled, "Friend Eleanor! Greetings." She flew over to me, carrying a mixing bowl of a creamy substance, and asked me, "What has bring you over to our home?"
I shrugged and smiled back, "I thought I could hang out with you guys." Then I looked around the place, "What happened? I've never sensed so much trouble in one place."
Starfire sulked, "Cyborg... He and Robin got into a fight and Cyborg quit the Titans last night."
"Oh..." I sulked, "That's terrible."
Starfire nodded, then smiled, "Here. Try."
She handed me a spoonful of the creamy substance. I ate the pudding and struggled to swallow. I managed to swallow and keep it down, but the taste of the pudding threw me into a fit of funny faces. It made Starfire giggle.
Once I was able to calm down, I looked at the Tamaranean girl, "What was that, Star? It tasted like it was supposed to come out of me, not go into me."
"Pudding of Sadness." Starfire answered, "It is what the people, from my planet, eat when bad things happen."
Starfire took a spoonful herself and ate it. She struggled to keep it down, and eventually swallowed. However the aftertaste made her throw a fit of funny faces an shook her head viciously.
Once she calmed down, Starfire flew over to Raven, "Try. The displeasing taste will ease your trouble of mind."
"My mind is never troubled. People come, people go." Raven answered, "It's pointless to be upset about Cyborg."
Suddenly, her hair flew wildly about her face and all the monitors cracked. Starfire gasped and took a step back.
"What?" Raven asked Starfire, not noticing what just happened.
Starfire turned and flew over to Robin, who hasn't moved from the window, "Here Robin. You must need this most of all. Since... Well..." She sulked, unable to finish her sentence.
Robin didn't even look at her, "I'm fine." Then he turned and walked off, "Who knows. Maybe we're better off without him."
Starfire lowered her head as Robin left. I hung my head as well. Then Starfire turned to me and smiled, "Friend, I wish to show you something."
She took hold of my hand and flew us through a few corridors, until we reached the front of a closed door. I felt a little dizzy from the speed, but I was able to recover and looked at the door.
"Should I knock first?" I asked.
Starfire giggled and shook her head, "No. This is gonna be your room. Robin said that his offer of becoming one of us is still open. So we made you a room, in case you say yes."
I smiled and raised my hand. The door opened to reveal a room of the exact replica of my room at home. Bookshelf on the left side wall. A double-sized bed against the back wall. Drawers on the right side wall. Desk and computer against the window and a wardrobe on the right side of the bed. Wall decorations and colors of cool and dark tones.
I smiled, "Starfire, this is unbelievable. I love it!"
I threw my arms around Starfire. Starfire hugged me back and giggled, "We knew you would like it. It took Robin days to make it look like your bedroom at your home as much as possible."
I released the hug and raised a brow, "Wait... You were spying on me?"
Suddenly, the alarm went off. I grabbed Starfire's hand and we dashed out of my room, to the Lounge, were Beast Boy and Raven were looking over the location of the alert. It was coming from the chemical plant.
Robin quickly joined, "Cinderblock strikes again?"
"You wish." Beast Boy answered.
"Plasmus..." I hissed.
*Later that Evening, at the Chemical Plant...*
~Third Person View~
Plasmus was in the plant, drinking large cans of green plasma, getting bigger with each drink. As he reached half-way into his third can of plasma, an emerald green starbolt blasted a hole in the other end. The plasma fell. Plasmus looked through the hole and saw the Titans looking at him.
"That stuff can't be good for you." Robin stated. Plasmus threw the can away and burped loudly.
"Nice one." Beast Boy commented.
Plasmus roared and shot his own plasma at the Titans. They jumped out of the way and reached for higher ground.
"Star. Let him have it!" Robin shouted.
Starfire fired a powerful starbolt blast at Plasmus' mid-section, creating a large hole.
"Did I let him have too much?" Starfire asked.
Plasmus looked at his hole, and inhaled a huge amount of air. The hole healed itself in seconds.
"I'm thinking not enough." Beast Boy stated.
Plasmus stretched his arm to Starfire, but Raven pushed her out of the way.
"Maybe, he just needs to chill." Robin said, as he threw one of his freeze-disks at Plasmus' arm, freezing it solid.
Plasmus noticed and roar in anger. He smashed his frozen arm into a strong pipe, breaking the ice. Robin jumped for higher ground, whilst Beast Boy transformed into his pterodactyl form and took off in flight. Starfire threw a number of starbolts, and most missed. Beast Boy dove in and used his feet to attack, but Plasmus blocked with his right arm. Plasmus shot his left arm towards Starfire and Beast Boy. Starfire used her starbolts to fight it off, whilst Beast Boy flew away.
"Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" Raven chanted as she used her telekinesis to pick up, and threw a few plasma cans at Plasmus. Eleanor followed with blades of psychokinetic energy. All direct hits in the chest. Plasmus shot the cans back at Raven, but Eleanor projected a shield around Raven, protecting her.
Robin dove in and tried hand-to-hand combat, but ended up stuck.
"Come on! Let me go, you giant zit!" Robin exclaimed.
"That's gotta burn..." Eleanor flinched, as Plasmus looked at Robin, offended by his words.
Plasmus shot Robin away from himself, along with splashing him with plasma and splashing Beast Boy too. Robin groaned in disgust, as Starfire went over to check on him.
"Robin!" she yelled in concerned.
"I'm okay. Sort of." Robin answered, spitting out some plasma that was in his mouth.
"And I thought Starfire's pudding tasted bad." Beast Boy stated.
Plasmus roared in an argument, since the Titans were not paying attention. The group went in to attack Plasmus again, but were splashed again by plasma.
"I feel like the underside of a Zornian muck beetle." Starfire commented in disgust.
"Tell me about it./Ditto." Raven and Eleanor answered in unison.
Plasmus chased Beast Boy, as he avoided getting splashed, "Dude! I am not on the menu!"
Robin threw his bird-a-rang at Plasmus, and began to tie him up.
"Maybe the best way to take you down... is to tie you up!" Robin stated, as he finished tying Plasmus to no movement. Beast Boy transformed into his rhino form and charged into Plasmus, making him fall on his back. Using starbolts and telekinesis, Starfire and Raven used the pillars around Plasmus to bind him more.
"We did it!" Starfire cheered.
"Nice work, team." Robin praised. Eleanor walked up to Plasmus' head, removed her hood, revealing her face, and put her hands over Plasmus' forehead. She was using her empathic abilities to try and get Plasmus to return to his human form, since he's made of plasma.
"Yeah. Didn't think we could pull it off without- Ow!" Beast Boy got cut off by Raven, elbowing his arm.
Robin checked his Titan communicator, "We've finished just in time. Cinderblock's just been spotted downtown. Come on!"
"Uh, guys? We have a problem!" Eleanor called, as Plasmus began to melt and separate his body, absorbing Eleanor into his head. His limbs took different forms, whilst his head stayed the same.
"Uh... heads up." Beast Boy said, as Plasmus charged toward them.
The Titans ran into the next room, closing and sealing the door behind them. Plasmus was trying to burst the door open.
"Four against five. Not good odds." Beast Boy informed.
"Forget the odds. We need a plan." Robin stated. However, Plasmus was beginning to hit the door harder, able to get an opening. Starfire screamed in panic. Plasmus smiled.
"Titans, separate!" Robin ordered, as the group ran in different directions. Plasmus broke through the door and his limbs followed each Titan.
The snake-shaped limb went after Starfire. Starfire threw starbolts at the limb, but it narrowly dodged. It coiled around and caught Starfire.
Beast Boy, in his jaguar form, was chased by the crustacean-like limb. It launched its tongue and caught Beast Boy. Beast Boy transformed into his gorilla form and got free. The limb jumped on to Beast Boy, attacking him head on.
The squid-like limb of Plasmus went after Raven. Using her powers, Raven made the entire isle fall on to the limb. The limb dodged with ease and appeared in front of Raven, catching and binding her.
Robin was chased by another crustacean-like limb. Robin ran into the acid deposit room, landing on the conveyor. The limb joined him, ready to attack. Robin used his bo-staff, but the limb broke both ends.
Back with Starfire, the snake-like limb coiled Starfire, covering her. Starfire unleashed her energy, creating an explosion and the limb to scatter. Starfire saw Plasmus, but he did nothing. The snake limb regenerated itself and the other limbs joined in, already caught the Titans they were chasing.
Back with Robin, he was trying to stay away from the limb. The limb tried to grab Robin, with its claws, but Robin held it back. They reached to end of the conveyor, leading to a large container of acid. Robin smiled and flipped the limb into the acid, and caught the edge of the belt before he fell, but the limb caught his foot, not wanting to fall.
Robin tried to lift himself up, but the belt gave out, causing him to let go and fall. Suddenly, a large, mechanical hand caught Robin's arm, saving him. The limb fell into the acid and melted away. The hand belonged to Cyborg.
"I still got the 'Sonic', if you still got the 'Boom'." Cyborg smiled. Robin looked at him and returned the smile.
Plasmus laughed evilly, happy that he has most of the Titans in his grasp.
"Teen Titans GO!" Robin and Cyborg called, repeating the move from before, but they threw the bomb, and fired the cannon at the right time, and it connected with Plasmus, knocking him out and returning him to his human form. Eleanor was sleeping with him. The plasma melted away, freeing the others. A little later, the police arrived and sealed Plasmus back into a new canister.
*Later...*
Plasmus was getting loaded into the police van, as the Titans watched, with Raven carrying the sleeping Eponian girl on her back.
"Look, uh... Sorry about..." Robin started, but couldn't finish.
"Yeah." Cyborg answered.
"So, are we cool?" Robin asked.
Cyborg smiled and put up his fist, "Frosty."
Robin smiled and joined the 'bro fist.'
"You made up! Glorious! I wish to initiate a group hug." Starfire cheered, happy that the team was back together.
"Pass." Raven answered.
"Yeah yeah. Warm fuzzies all around. But, we've still gotta stop Cinderblock!" Beast Boy reminded.
"And our friend is out-cold." Raven added.
Cyborg was still smiling, "No, we don't. Thought I'd bring a present. In case, you're still mad."
Behind Cyborg was Cinderblock, tied up in his own weapon.
"Thanks. But, there's one thing that's still bothering me." Robin stated. The other Titans got stiff.
"Breaking into jail, using Plasmus to distract us. The whole plan seems to be a little too smart for Cinderblock."
"I've been thinking the same thing." Cyborg said.
"Someone must've been pulling the strings. But, who?" Robin said with a smile.
"Whoever they are, They're no match for the Teen Titans." Cyborg answered.
"I heard that." Robin said, high-fiving Cyborg.
~Eleanor May Carter's POV~
*Dream*
I was back in the lair with the tall masked man. I saw the masked, in his chair, slamming his fist on to the arm, causing a cup of tea to fall and smash on the arm. The butler cleaned up the pieces and gave the masked man another cup.
"This time, my plans will succeed. And the Titans will pay!" The masked man spoke calmly, but angry for the failed plan. I could've sworn that he looked at me, as I woke up.
*Dream End*
I sat up, taking deep breathes, realizing that I was back in my room. I looked out the window, scared for what will happen next.
Somewhere I Belong: A Teen Titans Story
~Eleanor May Carter's POV~
It was a beautiful, and fun night at the fair. Starfire, Robin and I were on the Ferris-wheel, watching the fireworks, while Beast Boy, Cyborg and Raven were playing games and winning prizes.
Starfire was awestruck by the fireworks, "Beautiful. Tell me again what they are called."
"Fireworks." Robin answered. More firework brightened the sky, creating colorful displays in the sky.
"On my home planet, such explosions mean the Gordanians were attacking." Starfire sulked, then asked Robin, "You are certain Earth is not under attack?"
"Positive." Robin assured with a smile, then he offered, "Cotton candy?"
"Last time I ate a ball of cotton, it was white. And it did not taste very-" "This is different." Robin cut Starfire off.
He took a piece and threw it into his mouth. I did the same.
Uncertain, Starfire followed us. She smiled in delight, then squeaked in surprise, "It vanished."
"Yeah. It'll do that." Robin laughed.
Starfire sighed, "When I came to this planet, I did not think I would fit in. Earth was full of strange things. But, now I see that-" Starfire was cut off by the coming of the great finale of the fireworks display.
"Here comes the finale! Yes!" Robin exclaimed in excitement.
The finale was a gather of many fireworks, creating beautiful displays.
"Whoohooo! Amazing!" Robin exclaimed.
"Earth is full of amazing things too." Starfire smiled, looking at Robin.
"Best planet I've ever been to." Robin smile back. Suddenly, a robot probe swooped in and took Starfire.
"Starfire!" Robin and I yelled in unison.
Robin looked at me, "We need to get the others."
I nodded my head and took hold of his hand, "I know just where they are."
So, I teleported us to the others. As we appeared, there was no time for laughs, since Raven was holding a giant chicken plush.
"Titans, trouble." Robin told the others.
"Where's Starfire?" Cyborg asked.
"That's the trouble." Robin answered quickly.
We ran to the end of the bay. Starfire tried to fight back, but her attempts didn't make a dent. Starfire zoomed past us, closely followed by the probe.
"Who's her new best friend?" Beast Boy asked.
"Don't know. But I can't wait to meet him." Robin answered, getting ready to fight.
Starfire flew around the Ferris-wheel, then back to us. She stopped behind us, as we took care of the probe. Beast Boy morphed into his crocodile form, and tried to snap its tentacles, but missed.
Raven, using her telekinesis, threw the nearest hot dog stand at the probe, but didn't leave a dent. I attempted to bind the probe with a magical binding circle, but no avail. Cyborg grabbed the probe's tentacles and tried to pull back. It seemed to be working.
"Don't know what you did to make this thing mad, Star. But it couldn't hurt to apologize." Cyborg said with strain in his voice.
"I am sorry?" Starfire said in confusion, not sure what she did.
The probe got free from Cyborg's grip and charged for Starfire. Robin got his bo-staff out and whacked the probe head-on, combined with a powerful force of air I created. The probe fell back, and into the water.
Robin retracted his staff and Beast Boy looked over the railing, "So, did we just win?"
Right on cue, the probe popped out from underneath us. It rose to the air and charged at Robin. Robin jumped on to it.
"Don't see an off switch. Guess I'll have to make one." Robin punched into the main systems and pulled out a couple of wires.
I appeared behind him, then teleported him back to the group, as the probe flew into the sky and exploded with the fireworks.
"Whatever that thing was, it can't hurt you now." Robin assured Starfire.
"But, why did it wish to hurt me at all?" Starfire asked, unsure of what happened.
"We will find out. Don't worry." I reassured her.
*Later, back in Titans Tower...*
We returned to the tower, still trying to figure out why the probe attacked Starfire. We entered the main living room.
"Come friends. I shall thank you, for my rescue, by reciting the poem of gratitude. All 6000 verses." Starfire smiled with happiness and glee.
We looked ahead of her, completely shocked and confused.
"I see you haven't changed a bit." Ahead of us, was a tall, young lady with long black hair, purple eyes, and was wearing an outfit similar to Starfire's, when we first met. Come to think of it, she looked more like an evil version of Starfire. Her aura screamed galactic criminal in my head, making me glare at her.
I recognized the aura and that long black hair anywhere. Blackfire. Starfire's older sister, and an intergalactic criminal.
"When we were little, I was always rescuing Starfire." She answered with a smile.
Starfire screamed in cheer, as she hugged Blackfire.
"Sister!" She smiled.
Blackfire smiled back and showed Starfire a large, emerald green gem on a thick, brown thread, "Got you a present."
Starfire was in awe, "A Centauri Moon Diamond? But, where did you get-"
"On the Centauri Moons, of course." Blackfire answered, placing the necklace around Starfire's neck, "Oh look. It matches your eyes."
This made me narrow my eyes a little. Aren't Centauri Moon Diamonds protected by the Centauri police?
Starfire's smile grew bigger, "You must meet my friends." Starfire dragged her older sister towards us.
"I wish to introduce my big sister." Starfire began, but Blackfire stepped forward, "Blackfire. And since Star told me all about the Titans on her transmissions, let me guess."
Blackfire pointed to Cyborg, "Cyborg."
Cyborg smiled and reached out his hand, "Pleased to meet you, little lady." Blackfire shook Cyborg's hand, accidentally crushing it.
Cyborg looked at his hand, "Little lady, big handshake." Then grinned, "Well alright."
Blackfire went to Raven next, "Raven. I like that gemstone on your ajna chakra."
Raven smiled slightly, "You know about chakras?"
"I got way into meditation, on Altana Prime." Then, Blackfire turned to Beast Boy, "Beast Boy, what's up?"
"Nothing, but the ceiling baby." Beast Boy joked.
Blackfire giggled, "Good one."
"See? She thinks I'm funny." Beast Boy whispered to Raven.
"Statistically, I suppose someone has to." Raven whispered back.
Then, Blackfire looked at me and frowned, "Hmm... What's a kid like you doing here? Shouldn't you be at home with your mom and dad?"
I stared at her and said nothing. I might be the youngest of the group, but don't treat me like a child! Lastly, Blackfire turned to Robin.
"And you must be Robin." Blackfire examined Robin's cape, "I am loving this cape. It is positively luscious."
Robin smiled, "Thanks. It's a high density, polymerized titanium. 10 times stronger than steel."
"Fascinating." Blackfire commented, as she looked at Robin's face.
She noticed his mask, "And this mask makes you look very mysterious."
"So, beloved sister, what brings you to Earth?" Starfire asked. My eyes narrowed more, when Blackfire walked over to the couch.
"I was in the quadrant. I thought I'd see if Earthlings like to party." Blackfire explained, jumping onto the couch, "Besides, I needed a rest. Nearly got sucked into a black hole, on the way here." She finished.
Everyone looked at each other, then the boys joined Blackfire, wanting to hear the story. I knew she had another reason, I just have to wait for everyone else to find out.
"Okay. I'm cruising through the Draconis Nebular, and-" Blackfire started her story, until Starfire spoke up, "Sister, that nebular is full of black holes. You know travel there is forbidden."
Everything went quiet for a second.
"Most fun things in life are. Now, be a sweetie and bring me one of those 'sodas' I've been hearing so much about." Blackfire said, then returned to her story, "So anyway, I'm zooming over an event horizon, approaching light speed, when all of a sudden..."
Starfire went to the fridge and got a soda can. She brought it to Blackfire and flew off. I frowned and narrowed my eyes at the black-haired Tamaranean girl.
A yawn caught me by surprise. It was time to head home and hit the hay.
I quietly made my way back home, to my bedroom in Titans Tower. It was too late to head home and crash. Once in my bedroom, I put up my 'do not disturb' sign, and went to my bookshelf. I searched my books, looking at the galactic laws. As I reached a certain chapter, my eyes widen in awe and shock.
I gasped in slight shock, walking to my bed, continuing to read the chapter, "No way..."
*The Next Morning...*
I was woken up by a knock on my door. I must've fell asleep while reading. I got up, folded the corner of the page, put the book back in the shelf and answered the door. It was Starfire.
"I am sorry, if I am disturbing you. But, is my sister with you?" She asked me.
"No. She's not." I answered.
"Oh. Could you help me locate her? I seek her companionship." Starfire asked me politely.
I closed my eyes and sighed, "She's with Robin. Be very careful around her, Starfire."
"Thank you, Friend Eleanor." Starfire said with a bow, then she left.
"There is something going on. I don't like it." I whispered, as I closed the door and returned to my books.
*Later That Evening...*
As I got to the third book of the galactic laws, it was nightfall, I got another knock on my door. I opened the door and saw it was the group.
"Sorry to disturb you, Eleanor. But, would you like to come to the party with us?" Robin apologized, then asked.
I had to admit, I needed the fresh air. But, I needed to research on what Blackfire was mentioning in her story. Centauri Moon Diamonds. The Centauri police. Even the Draconis Nebular.
I put on a fake smile, "Sure."
I left my room and followed everyone out of Titans Tower. I noticed Starfire looked very upset. I narrowed my eyes and teleported in front of Blackfire. I noticed that she was wearing one of Starfire's outfits.
"May I speak to you for moment, Blackfire? Alone?" I asked.
She smiled, "Sure." I took her to a quiet corridor.
"I know what you're doing. I warn you to not make her do something she will regret. Or not even your silver tongue or starbolts can save you." I warned Blackfire, feeling my aura flaring in anger, making the walls go black and watched her with glowing red eyes.
Blackfire backed away in fear, but she nodded in agreement.
*Later, at the Warehouse Party...*
We arrived at the warehouse. The music was loud and the lights were flashing to the beats.
"Step aside, Earthlings. The queen of the galaxy has arrived." Blackfire shouted, as she started to dance to the beat.
I stayed at the back, trying to stay away from people and the loud music. I'm not a big fan of loud noises nor crowds. Everyone, except Starfire and Raven were dancing. Raven walked off with a goth boy, to go and talk.
A couple of boys walked to Starfire, "Hey, hot alien girl. You're digging the scene?"
Starfire smiled, unsure what to say, "I did not know we were meant to bring shovels."
The crowd around her laughed at her words. Embarrassed and humiliated, Starfire flew through the top window and sat on the roof. Robin followed, taking the stairs.
Blackfire walked up to me, wearing a pink wig, "Sweetie, has you seen Robin? I want to show him this cool wig."
I stared at her, "He's with Starfire. On the roof." Then I growled, "And don't call me 'Sweetie'..."
Blackfire smiled and ruffled my hair, "Thanks. You're a dear."
Then, she flew to the roof. I quietly growled and straightened my long, midnight blue hair again. The music changed tunes and I continued to stay out of the crowd, until I saw Starfire fighting another probe.
Two more probes appeared and attacked Beast Boy and Cyborg. Raven and I jumped into action. Raven used her telekinesis, and threw a couple of creates at one of the probes, making it drop Beast Boy. The third probe, that was attacking Starfire, dove through the roof and hit a large create. The probe and Starfire popped out of the create. Starfire attacked the probe, causing it to fall on to Beast Boy, but he dodged the impact.
Cyborg and Beast Boy attacked the probes, but the probes cornered Starfire. Starfire tried to fly away from them, I used my psychokinesis to freeze the probes in place and Cyborg grabbed one and caught their attention. He was able to knock two away from Starfire, but the third threw him into a wall, doing a full spin. The probes returned their attention to Starfire.
Again, Starfire tried to attack, but it missed, and the probes attacked Starfire, throwing her into a dumpster. A probe picked up the dumpster and began to fly away. Robin threw his Bird-a-rang at the probe, slicing two of its tentacles and dropped Starfire.
"Teen Titans! Go!" Robin and Cyborg yelled in unison.
On cue, Blackfire joined the fight. The probes charged towards her, Blackfire fired lasers from her eyes and hit each, causing them to explode.
"Oh yeah! Good times!" Cyborg said.
"Nice shooting, Tex." Beast Boy commented.
"Very nice." Raven congratulated.
"How do you know where to hit them?" Robin asked.
"Lucky guess." Blackfire answered quickly. I narrowed my eyes at Blackfire.
"We could use luck like that. Maybe you oughta join the team." Cyborg said.
"Me? A Teen Titan?" Blackfire asked, acting very surprised.
Starfire got out of the dumpster, completely shocked. I got Starfire out of the dumpster. She looked very upset.
*Later, in Titans Tower...*
We returned to the tower, and Starfire got cleaned up. I was on my way to retire for the day, until I saw her heading to the roof, with her backpack. Her aura was blue with sadness and neglect.
Worried, I teleported to Robin, who was in the living room, reading a comic book. "Robin, we have a problem." I told him, as I reappeared.
"What's wrong?" He asked me, standing up from the couch.
"It's Starfire. I think she's leaving." I answered sadly.
"We need to stop her!" Robin told me, placing his hand on my shoulder, "Teleport us to her."
I nodded, I was able to track Starfire's aura on top of the roof. I teleported myself and Robin to her location. Starfire was already in the air as we appeared.
"Are you just leaving without saying goodbye?" Robin asked.
Starfire saw us and she landing in front us, and dropped her backpack.
"Robin. Friend Ellie. I-" Starfire was cut off by the sight of an alien cruiser.
Robin and I got prepared to fight back. The creature at the front shot a tentacle at Robin and myself, causing us to fall back.
He caught Starfire and retracted her to the ship. Robin and I ran after her, but we couldn't reach her. I grabbed Robin's wrist and teleported us to the bottom of the ship.
"Prepare to leave Earth orbit. We have the Tamaranean girl." Said one of the creatures. It had a soft male voice.
"Once we return to Centauri, you will pay for what you've done." Said the second. It had a deeper voice than the first.
"Nobody is taking her away." Robin whispered under his breath with determination in his eyes. He jumped to the top of the ship, whilst I teleported in front of the creatures.
"Our friend stays here!" Robin told the creatures.
The front creature charged at Robin, but he dodged easily. The creature shot lasers at Robin, but missed again. It went in for another attack, but Robin ducked and punched the creature's right elbow. The creature shot its tentacle at Robin, but the weapon attacked Robin's cape, bounced off and attacked the left engine.
"No!" yelled the creature at the controls.
The ship began to lose control and began to fall. I put my hands on the ship. My psychokinetic energy enveloped the ship and I moved my hands up, trying to steer its nose up for a proper landing.
"I can not control it." The creature alarmed.
Robin released Starfire and unbound her. Starfire and Robin jumped off the ship as its nose hit the ground. I teleported off the ship, as it landed up-side down. Starfire and Robin landed beside me.
"Ooops." I said, scratching the back of my head.
"Star! Robin!" We heard Beast Boy call, as the others arrived. I noticed Blackfire wasn't with us. My blood boiled into inferno, but I kept myself composed.
"You guys okay?" Cyborg asked. We turned to see the creatures getting up.
"Titans, get ready." Robin ordered as we got ready to fight. The creatures came towards us. I stood in front of Starfire, protecting her.
"In the name of the Grand Centauri Empire, you are all under arrest." The one with the deep voice told us, showing a intergalactic police badge to us. I lowered my stance.
"You can't be the good guys. We're the good guys." Beast Boy explained.
"And we are Centauri Police." The deep voice answered.
"The Tamaranean girl is a lair and a thief. She's committed high crimes throughout the entire Centauri System." The soft voiced one explained, pointing to Starfire.
"I have never been to the Centauri Moons." Starfire explained.
Robin took Starfire's necklace and examined it, "But, I know someone who has."
"Centauri Moon Diamonds are protected by the Centauri Police, Star..." I explained.
Starfire gasped as realization hit her.
Robin gave the necklace back to the police, "You've been chasing the wrong girl." He turned to the others and asked, "Where's Blackfire?"
Beast Boy pointed to the sky. Blackfire was fleeing the scene. My energy flared in anger. She hurt Starfire, her own sister, deceived the others, and ignored my warning. She's gone way too far.
"Don't worry, Star. She won't get away with this." Robin assured.
"I warned her!" I growled, as my anger blazed into pure rage.
"No, she will not!" Starfire growled in anger, with her eyes glowing neon. Starfire and I flew to the skies, meeting Blackfire.
"Hello sister." Starfire greeted, folding her arms.
"Aw, you're mad. I know. I should've told you I was leaving, but you know how I hate goodbyes and-" "You are a criminal and you were going to let me take your place in jail." Starfire cut Blackfire off.
"Oh. Well, yeah." Blackfire admitted.
"You will give back what you have stolen, and turn yourself over to the police!" Starfire told Blackfire.
"And what will you do, if I don't?" Blackfire threatened.
Her eyes glowed a pink and she threw a starbolt at Starfire, knocking her down a little. That made something in my mind snap.
"I always was the better fighter." Blackfire gloated.
"I warned you, Blackfire. Now, you shall pay for your crimes, and for what you've done!" I shouted as black and indigo energy engulfed my body. Tendrils sprout from my back and reached out toward Blackfire.
Blackfire attacked the tendrils with her starbolts and lasers from her eyes, but she either missed or the tendrils absorbed the energy, making them stronger. The tendrils wrapped themselves around Blackfire's throat, arms, legs, abdomen, wrists and ankles and began draining of her life-force.
Blackfire tried to scream, but the tendril around her throat coiled tighter. A wicked smile grew on my face. I was enjoying watching her suffer for what she's done to my friends and family.
Starfire regained herself and looked at Blackfire. She gasped and shouted, "Friend Eleanor, stop! Your killing my sister!"
I gasped and snapped out of my episode. I backed away from Blackfire and the tendrils let her go. Blackfire regained herself and glared at me, ready to shoot me down with a starbolt, but a tentacle stopped her.
It was the police, "Blackfire of Tamaran, you are under arrest."
Blackfire was dragged towards the ship. My powers faded and my anger calmed, as I used my psychokinesis to stay afloat.
"Farewell Sister. Although you did betray and attacked me, it was still very nice to see you." Starfire lightly smiled, waving to Blackfire.
"Next time, it won't be so nice. I will get out of jail, little sister. And I will get even!" Blackfire threatened Starfire.
I started feel very dizzy. I lost consciousness and fell from the sky.
Starfire's POV.
I saw Friend Eleanor falling towards me, so I caught her. I flew to the ground, meeting my other friends. All of them asked me if I was unharmed.
"I am unharmed. Thanks to Friend Eleanor." I answered, as Cyborg took Eleanor from my arms.
"What happened to her?" Beast Boy asked.
"She got very angry at my Sister, and she used a power I have never seen her use." I answered.
Robin placed his hand over Eleanor's forehead, a gentle smile appeared on his face. That must be how close friends are on this planet.
"Guess our little spirit really cares about her friends." Cyborg smiled.
Beast Boy smiled, "Spirit! That should be her hero name."
We returned to the tower, placed Eleanor into her room, so she could rest. And rested ourselves. However, I struggled to sleep. I felt sad for my sister, for betraying me and my friends.
The next morning, I sat on the roof of the tower, watching the sun rise.
"Hey. How are you doing?" I heard Robin ask, as he sat next to me.
"I am sad for my sister." I answered.
"And for yourself?" Robin asked.
"I am just glad that the truth was discovered, before I was replaced." I admitted.
"What are you talking about?" Robin asked, sounding surprised.
"Well, you- Everyone was having such fun with her. And Cyborg said-" "Look. Your sister was interesting. But, she could never take your place. No one could ever take your place." Robin cut me off with an honest smile.
I smiled back, happy that I never had to leave.
Somewhere I Belong: A Teen Titans Story
~Eleanor Carter's POV.~
*Dream*
A static sound was heard as a screen displayed a symbol. It looked like a high school symbol, in a hexagon shape, a checkered pattern with an old English style 'H' in the center and a honey yellow boarder. Under the badge was a banner with the letters, 'H.A.E.Y.P.'
"The Hive Academy for Extra-ordinary Young People is proud to introduce..." Said a young female voice as a hive-like corridor appeared and a pillar raised to the symbol.
The pillar had three people standing on top of it:
A toddler-like, bald boy, wearing a full-body jumpsuit, green goggles and holding a game controller.
A teenage girl with grey skin, pink, cat-like eyes, and spiky pink hair, with black bands to make it look like a pair of horns, wearing a witch-like outfit, with black and pink striped tights.
And a large, muscular teenage boy that towers over the other two. He has long, ginger hair with a small beard to match, wearing a large, black leotard with black, tight pants and matching boots.
"This year's top graduates." The voice finished. The kids jumped into action, to demonstrate their powers.
"Gizmo. The boy genius, whose intellect can conquer any problem with an invented solution." The voice introduced the youngest, as he press a button on his chest-plate, and metallic wings appeared from his back.
Using his controller, Gizmo was able to dodge the lasers, that were firing from the walls. The wings fired missiles at the walls, destroying the robots. Gizmo landed with a smile. A bunch of large robots appeared and Gizmo flew off.
"Jinx. An enchanting sorceress, whose powerful hexes means bad luck for her enemies." The voice introduced the girl, as she did a full twirl with pink hexes hitting the wall plates, causing them to slip out and fall.
Jinx jumped out of the way as the plates fell on the robots. She continued to back-flip down the hallway as robots came out of the floor behind her.
The large boy smashed the fist robot's nuzzle. "And Mammoth. The genetically enhanced giant, whose unstoppable strength speaks for itself." The voice introduced the large boy, as he tore the top of the robot and threw it across from his position, into the last two robots.
A large robot appeared from behind Mammoth and restrained him. Gizmo landed on the back of the robot and placed a device onto the robot.
"Well organized, highly trained and combat equipped. These new H.A.E.Y.P Agents are the perfect fighting force." The voice said as the robot dropped, Gizmo jumped off and Jinx joined the others.
Gizmo ran across the hall, as Mammoth help Jinx back-flip all the way. The walls opened and fired at Jinx, but missed her and destroyed each other.
"And, for the right price, This ideal team can be yours." The voice finished as the introduction was finished.
The room went completely blank, showing just the symbol. An young, elder woman walked into the room.
"Well, Mr. Slade?" The woman asked.
A few feet ahead of her was a tall, dark figure. "Impressive. Truly. However, robots and obstacle courses only prove so much." The figure said in a dark, yet soothing voice.
"My plans demand operatives who can function in the real world." The man said as he and the woman walked further into the room. It looked more like a machine factory and lair.
"If your students are going to serve me, they have to pass one final exam" The man started, as he sat on a mysterious chair, and the woman stood in the spotlight next to the trio.
"Destroy the Teen Titans. Then, we'll talk." The man finished. The woman bowed, then everything went blank.
*Dream End*
I sat up from my sleeping form with a sudden gasp of air and wiping cold sweat from my brow. That has been the second time I have that dream this week.
I looked out my window to see that the sky was still dark with twinkling stars and a bright, full moon watching overhead. I let out a heavy sigh and laid my head back onto my soft pillow, hoping and praying that the dream was just a dream and not a vision of something bad happening to my friends.
I woke up once again, but this time, to the sound of thumping and paper. The sounds that indicate packing. I looked out my window to see that it was just after noon. How long was I asleep for?
I brushed my midnight blue mane until it was manageable and got dressed into my casual attire. I opened my bedroom door to find my foster parents moving boxes and bags out of our house and into a moving truck outside. Even my foster sister was helping them out by moving stuff out and neatly re-packing them in order.
"What's going on?" I asked, as I walked into the hallway after my mother passed me with a large box.
"Ah, Ellie. You're up. Good." My foster mother smiled, "Get your stuff packed. We're leaving."
My eyes widen and I gasped in shock and disbelief, "Leaving? But we just got settled. Why are we leaving?"
"Because this city is plagued with superheroes and villains as well." My foster father answered, as he helped my foster mother move a box down the stairs.
I mentally face-palmed myself. Of course, that was the reason! How could I be so forgetful? My foster parents are not big fans of superheroes, or villains for that matter. Even my younger sister doesn't like them. She believes heroes and villains are just stunts to makes each other 'look good'.
Anywho, I shook my head, "But I don't want to leave. I have friends here. This is the fifth city in the last three years that we moved to that has heroes or villains." I counted with me fingers, "We left Gotham because of Batman and the Joker. Metropolis because of Superman. Central City because of the Flash. The list goes on." I folded my arms, "Where are we gonna go now?"
"Smallville." My foster father answered, "It's a small town just outside of Metropolis, but it keeps to itself and there are no heroes or villains to bother us."
I opened my mouth to argue back but decided to be smart and held my tongue. It's pointless to argue with my foster father, his stubborn will could rival that of Batman. And he's a tough one to persuade. I can see where Robin gets his stubborn demeanor from…
Then I remembered what I said before and spoke up, "But I have friends here. I can't just leave them all the sudden. We had plans for the weekend!"
"Too bad." My foster mother answered.
"Without a doubt, they're a bunch of freaks…" My younger sister scoffed, then glanced at me, "Like you."
"Get your things packed, Eleanor." My foster father told me, "We're leaving this evening."
I thought for a second. I really don't want to leave Jump City. I'm finally have friends, reunited with what was left of my real family, and I'm finally happy where I am. I can finally be who I really am here. It's not that don't want to leave… I can't leave.
I looked at my family, stood my ground and spoke in a strong and clear voice, "No."
Everything around me came into a stand-still. My foster mother and younger sister stared at me with wide eyes. My father's face turned red with anger. And I knew who that anger was directed at. Me. But I chose to be brave and stood my ground.
~SLAP!~
I placed my hand over my red, throbbing, sore cheek and looked at my father with tears welling up in my eyes.
"You don't have a choice in the matter, young lady." My foster father told with a growl in his voice. He pointed upstairs, "Go upstairs. Pack your things. And meet us outside. We leave in the evening."
Anger, rage and sadness welled up inside me. I wanted to shout back. I wanted to stay. I… I wanted to kill my foster father for what he has done to this family. I won't. I can't let the blood-lust get to me. I'm not a demon. I am just a child. A lost, scared, helpless child. I had to get away from here before something happens!
I lowered my head, so my hair shadowed over my eyes, and I dashed out of the building and down into the streets. I heard my mother and father call out my name. I refused to look over my shoulder, to see if they were chasing me. I didn't want to look back. I refused to look back.
I ran into the center of the city, where Starfire met me and Robin, and hid in a dark, nearby alley and leaned against the wall. I slid down until I was sitting, hugged my knees close to my chest and buried my face into my knees, sobbing as tears ran down my face and a black and indigo flame-like aura surround my body, blending me into the darkness of the alley.
That was that. The choice was made for me. I chose to stay in Jump City, and now I'm paying the price. The loss of my family. But then again… Were they really my family?
Did they support any of the choices I made in the past? Did they comfort me when times were tough? Did they see me as a lost child trying to fit in a world where she had no true belonging?
No… No, they didn't. The Teen Titans did. They know what it's like to be an outcast. They supported me. Helped me. They're my family, not the people that would move city to city just because they hated superheroes and villains.
Speaking of the Teen Titans, Starfire, Beast Boy and Robin, flew into the alley I was hiding in, and a garbage bin just outside the alley. Then Cyborg and Raven were crushed by a bus.
The villains behind these actions were the three from my dreams. Mammoth. Jinx and Gizmo.
"That was too easy! What a bunch of of kludge-heads!" Gizmo laughed, then asked, "You guys want get pizza?"
Until Robin yelled, "This isn't over!"
Cyborg was able to blast himself and Raven out of the bus, "We're just getting started."
"Who are these guys? And what's a kludge-head?" Beast Boy asked, removing the banana peel from the top of his head.
"We are the HIVE." Gizmo introduced.
"Your worst nightmare." Mammoth added.
"And this is Attack Pattern Alpha!" Jinx included. They jumped into battle.
Gizmo flew towards Robin, Starfire and Beast Boy, shooting at the walls around them, causing the walls to collapse on them.
I raised my hands over my head and used my psychokinesis enveloped to stop the walls from falling on top of us. Raven ended up fighting Jinx, who was dodging and blocking her attacks. While Cyborg battled with Mammoth in a test of strength.
"What do you call an idiot with a rocket on its back?" Mammoth asked Cyborg, as Gizmo placed a rocket on Cyborg's back.
"Doomed." Gizmo answered. He pressed a button and Cyborg flew off.
"Cyborg!" Starfire yelled, flying after him.
Raven was still fighting Jinx, but she dodged and blocked Raven's attacks like they were nothing.
"You fight like a boy." She teased.
"And you're going to croak like a frog." Gizmo added, as he fired a laser at me, causing Raven to fly back into Robin.
Beast Boy changed into an elephant, but was picked up by Mammoth, "Mammoth's gonna make you extinct."
"Beast Boy, hang on!" Robin shouted, running towards Beast Boy.
Mammoth pushed Beast Boy into the air and jump-punched him into Robin. Luckily, Beast Boy returned to his normal form, before he hit Robin. The impact caused them fall back to where Raven was.
"Is it just me, or are we getting our butts kicked?" Beast Boy asked.
"It's just you!" Robin, Raven and I said in unison, while getting back up.
"Listen up, team. I have a plan." Robin began, but a blast hit Raven and Beast Boy, causing them to fly a block away from Robin and myself.
"Gee, scum-buffer. Sure hope your fancy plan includes getting fried." Gizmo teased, readying his weapon for another shot.
"You'll just have to find out the hard way." Robin teased back, getting into one of his stances and did the 'come at me' hand motion.
Gizmo smiled and fired two blasts at the ground. Jinx followed with her hexes and Mammoth with a hard axe-handle. The ground crumbled beneath us. I leaped out of the way, but Robin wasn't lucky.
"Robin!" I cried as I grabbed his hand, trying to save him from falling.
My grip was quickly slipping, so I used my other hand. I saw Gizmo fire his weapon, but it was at my hands. It hit and my grip slipped, dropping Robin into the darkness, I could hear his screams.
"ROBIN!" I yelled/cried into the hole, but there was no sign of him. I was about to dive into the sewers, after him, but Jinx fired a hex at me and I fell from stepping on my tail. I fell to my knees, clutching my head in despair. Raven and Beast Boy ran to my side.
"Robin!" Beast Boy shouted.
*Later That Day, at Titans Tower...*
Raven, Beast Boy and I returned to the tower, after trying to look for Robin, but we haven't had any luck.
"That didn't just happen." Beast Boy spoke up. With Raven's help, Beast Boy sat down on one of the lobby chairs, rubbing his right thigh in pain. He pulled a muscle during the battle. "Tell me that didn't just happen."
"It did happen. We can not change the truth. No matter how much we dislike it." Raven said, removing her hood.
Beast Boy was still rubbing his leg. Raven placed her hands over his leg and her hands glowed in a calm, icy blue.
"Who knew we had a doctor in the house?" Beast Boy joked, "Thanks."
"No problem." Raven replied.
The doors opened, Cyborg and Starfire entered the lobby.
"Maybe y'all should call me Fly-Borg. I was halfway to Gotham City, before Star zapped that thing off my back." Cyborg smiled, then asked, "So, what did I miss?"
Raven, Beast Boy and I couldn't look at them in the eye.
"Tell how we kicked their butts! Come on. I gotta have the play-by-play." Cyborg insisted.
Starfire looked around, "Where is Robin?"
I closed my eyes, fighting tears, and hugged myself to stop the grief. It wasn't helping.
"Um Star? We're not sure." Beast Boy answered, looking down in shame.
"Not sure? Why are you not-" "We searched everywhere. And all we found was this." Raven explained, showing them Robin's belt. Starfire gasped in shock.
"I should've been there! I let that kid sneak up on me and- What was I-? It was a trap! I should've known." Cyborg said is disbelief, beating himself up.
"I do not understand. How could you not find him? People do not just vanish! He has to be someplace. So, go there and look!" Starfire yelled at Raven.
Beast Boy spoke up before anything got worse, "Easy, Star. Come on. This is Robin we're talking about. I'm sure he's fine. He'll probably turn up any second."
Right on cue, the door made it's opening noise.
"Awesome timing." Beast Boy smiled.
Starfire flew over to the door, "Robin."
I sensed the auras from the other side of the door, there were three. A small techno-genius, a lucky witch, and a big-headed giant.
"Starfire, don't answer the-" the doors were blasted open, throwing Starfire back.
As the smoke cleared, Gizmo, Jinx and Mammoth entered the lobby. I hate it when I do that.
"Oh no." Beast Boy grimaced.
"Oh yes." Jinx answered.
"You guys got lucky last time. But, you're in our house now." Cyborg shouted.
"Yeah. Nice place. We'll take it." Gizmo said with a smile.
The battle happened again. The other Titans tried to hold them off.
"Split up!" Cyborg ordered.
I followed Starfire and Raven, as they tried to ward Mammoth off. Starfire used her starbolts and Raven used her telekinesis. We arrived in one of the rooms, closed the door, then Starfire sealed it.
It was quiet until I pushed Starfire, Raven and myself away from the back wall, as Mammoth rammed his head into it, "Hello ladies."
He entered the room, and we tried to fight back. I teleported behind him and covered his eyes, but Mammoth grabbed me by the tail and threw me into Raven and Starfire. Mammoth took the barbell and used it as a weapon. Starfire and Raven tried to take the weapon, but he whacked us into the sky, out of the tower, and into the water, with Cyborg and Beast Boy.
"Have a nice afterlife. You snot-eating losers!" Gizmo yelled to us, an Jinx conjured a huge wave to wash us up.
We were defeated. We swam out of the water, at the other side of the bridge.
"So, uh... who else wants to never go surfing again?" Beast Boy joked. I could still hear Robin's screams in my head.
"Not now, man." Cyborg retorted, getting annoyed.
Beast Boy got up, "Hey. I was just trying to-" Raven cut Beast Boy off by placing her hand on his shoulder. Cyborg got a mini torch from his finger and started trying to repair himself.
Starfire walked towards him, "Perhaps I could be of assistance?"
"I got it!" Cyborg shot at Starfire. "But you are so damaged and-" "I got it!" Cyborg cut Starfire off.
"Hey! She only wanted to help! What is your problem?" Beast Boy stuck up.
"What do you think? We got kicked out of our house! A pint-sized point-dexter took me for a joyride! And, in case you haven't noticed, I just became left-handed!" Cyborg shouted, pointing to his missing arm to prove his point.
"Enough! We need to control our emotions." Raven said calmly.
"Or what? Our bad vibes will keep you from meditating?" Cyborg yelled at Raven.
"I wish Robin were here." Starfire sighed sadly.
"Well, he's not! Don't you guys get it? They won, we lost! It's OVER!" Cyborg yelled in anger. We looked out to the horizon, realizing we let the city down.
"Then... the Teen Titans are finished?" Beast Boy asked.
"Not yet!" said a very familiar voice. We turned and saw Robin, alive and well. "Not if I can help it."
"Robin!" I ran and threw my arms around him, "I'm so relieved you're alive. Please tell me you have a plan."
Robin smiled and nodded his head.
*Later That Night...*
As we went over the plan, we got ready to infiltrate and return. We waited at the top of the tower, as I got out my remote hacking device. I made Cyborg's arm go over to the main computer, and hacked into the mainframe, switching the alarms on, making everything go into defensive mode. The disks flew at Gizmo, causing him to fall back.
"You're not the only one good with machines." I smiled, as I used Cybrog's arm to catch Gizmo, while Raven had Jinx and Starfire had Mammoth.
We sent the trio up to the roof, with a large impact with each other. I cancelled my controller and returned Cyborgs arm. Robin caught his belt, that Jinx dropped,
"Sorry to interrupt the victory celebration. But, like I said..." Robin clips on his belt, "This isn't over."
"It's just getting started!" Cyborg added, reattaching his arm.
The trio stood up with smiles. "Attack Pattern Alpha!" Jinx commanded.
Everyone jumped into action. Beast Boy came down from his jump only to find Mammoth coming straight at him. He jumped away again and turned into a hawk as the giant slammed his fist down on the roof and sent a shock wave toward Cyborg.
Jinx landed behind the latter and vaults high over his shoulders, hurling a spell down at him as she sailed through the air. It knocked out the base of a water tank and caused the while thing to topple toward Cyborg, who gets out of the way just in time before a second tank collapsed nearby.
Starfire was throwing a few Tamaranean fastballs at Jinx, as she nimbly dodged them and ducked out of sight behind part of the new construction. Starfire flew in after her. Cyborg, meanwhile, looked around himself a bit.
All clear, but that changed in an instant when Gizmo jumped down from the fallen water tanks and landed on his back.
"Hey, Robo-wimp. Feeling like getting hacked?" Gizmo asked, getting his tool ready.
"Nope. How 'bout you? Robin, now!" Cyborg yelled.
On cue, Robin jumped from behind Gizmo and threw a device on to Gizmo's backpack. It sent an electric shock to Gizmo and messed with his systems. Gizmo got off Cyborgs back and started running around, trying to get the device off.
"Cut it out! It's gonna crash my whole systems!" Gizmo yelled as he threw a weapon out of his back.
"Get it off me! Get it off me!" Gizmo was able to shout, until he took of into the air.
Jinx continued to run from Starfire.
Starfire stopped her attack and called, "Beast Boy, go!"
Beast Boy gave the two-fingered salute, then jumped into the air, changing into a monkey. He landed on Jinx's face, causing her to be able to see. So, she fired hexes all over the area. She was able to get Beast Boy off her face, and threw him away. Beast Boy returned to his human form.
"You're luck just ran out!" Beast Boy joked, running off, leaving Jinx confused.
The area began to moan, until it fell around her. I felt bad, so I moved her out of the rubble.
She looked at me, "Why?"
I said nothing, punched her out-cold, and joined the battle.
Mammoth tried to charge into Raven, but she dodges with ease. Cyborg charged into Mammoth, causing him to fly a good ten feet across the roof. Mammoth got up and saw Beast Boy, in his T-Rex form, and me on his back. Beast Boy snarled at Mammoth. He screamed and ran for his life. I jumped in front of Mammoth, startling him.
I gave him a flying kick to the head, and dashed out of the way, as Starfire released a powerful starbolt at Mammoth, causing him to float in mid-air, spinning. Robin gave Mammoth a flying kick, and we defeated the HIVE. Gizmo groaned and got out a communications device.
"Oh crum it. I'm calling Slade." Gizmo said.
Robin grabbed him, from the collar of his suit and picked him up, "Who is Slade?"
"Wouldn't you like to know, barf-brain." Gizmo teased. Robin growled, and punched him out-cold.
*The Next Day...*
"NOOOO! This is the worst thing that could ever happen!" Beast Boy yelled in despair, as we returned to the tower. Everything was cleaned up.
"My tunes! They've been... alphabetized." Beast Boy started searching out his tunes, as Cyborg continued looking high and low for the remote, like yesterday.
"How am I ever gonna find anything?" Beast Boy asked, as he threw his CDs. Raven came downstairs with two of her cloaks on her arms.
She didn't look, or feel too happy, "They went into my room. No one should ever go into my room!"
Starfire gasped in horror, as she popped from behind the kitchen counter, "Someone has disposed of all our blue, furry food!"
Cyborg picked up the couch, "You gotta be be kidding me! The whole place gets cleaned and I still can't find the-" Robin whistled, getting his attention. He pointed to the table, where the remote was. Cyborg smiled and put the couch down. Robin and I sat down, followed by everyone.
"I guess we really oughta be training for battles, tracking down clues, and trying to figure out who Slade is, huh?" Cyborg asked Robin, confused.
"We will. But right now, I'm just happy being part of the team." Robin answered with a smile. Then he turned to me, "I take it you're going back home again."
I shook my head, "Actually, Robin. I'm already home." I smiled at my cousin, "I have decided to join the Teen Titans for good this time. You guys are my real family. Sorry I didn't see it sooner."
Starfire squealed happily and threw her arms around me, "Oh, I am so happy for you to join us, Friend Eleanor."
"We've got a perfect name for you too." Raven smiled. Starfire released her hug.
"Really? What?" I asked.
"Willow. It fits your personality and your appearance." Robin answered, "What do you think?"
I rubbed my chin in thought. Willow... Simple. Easy to remember. And its my favorite type of tree. I smiled and threw my arms around the Boy Wonder, "I love it."
I was relieved to see the team back together, but it worries me of what this Slade has in store for us.
