Closing Act: What it Feels

CLOSING ACT

Weeks passed, everyone had a chance to get out their sorrows, rest, and heal.

Cyborg was able to build himself a newer and better left arm, and coat his other arm in special armor which the Equestrians helped him make to protect him better.

The Equestrians and the Titans felt they owed each other their lives, and they refused to say goodbye to one another.

Not that they had to anyway, they still had the trans-warp jewel which could take them between Jump City and Equestria at will. That, or Fluttershy could teleport them to Discord’s dimension anytime and then to their respective worlds.

This was especially wonderful to everyone, because while the hatred was gone, the damages still remained. Jump City and all over Equestria needed serious fixing up. Survivors also needed to be located, tended to, fed, and renewed to start life over.

It took some time and comforting, what with many friends and loves ones dead, and they could never be brought back.

The heroes and the ponies felt the pain well, and all pitched in to help the rebuilding.

It was a major shock for the people of Jump City and across the world to learn of the ponies, and their Kingdom of Equestria, which was now under rule of Queen Cadance, and Princess Twilight Sparkle.

They had taken it upon themselves to rule over the kingdom, the sisters-in-law, almost like the Royal Sisters and how they were. They promised to train well, and rule the kingdom wisely as the sisters once did.

As for The Crystal Empire, a new ruler would be chosen by election-- some pony of great integrity and power who would lead the place as Cadance once did.

Starlight, she was promoted to Head-Mare of The School of Friendship, now that Twilight had her new duties.

Starlight was initially shocked and nervous when accepting the job, but with all the other friends by her side, things went very well.

Once over the initial shocks, and coming to better realization, The Equestrians and the humans of the Titans’ world began to band together to repair and restore.

Of course, even in spite of all this, it didn’t mean that all battles were over and all darkness had ceased.

There would always be some evil, some bad guy, some band of cronies bent on world domination, or out to cause trouble.

A group of ill-mannered Dragons, who hadn’t learned anything from the events, began to flock into Ponyville just as restorations were nearing completion.

“Let’s waste this place!” shouted the leader.

The dragons all roared and began to charge their way in, breathing fire all about.

Strangely, their flames didn’t seem to burn any of the thatched rooves.

“Ahem…!” Fluttershy hissed, revealing she had bent reality, making the straw flame-proof.

Starlight then showed up, sneering “I suggest you all leave at once!” Her Element of Faith glowed brightly, and the dragons actually cowered and flew away like scared little puppies.

Even in Jump City, a group of heavily armed thugs were attempting to rob the newly completed and furbished bank.

“Hold it right there!” Robin shouted as he and the other three Titans dropped in.

“Well… if it isn’t The Titans...” the leader taunted “You should be easy pickings without your precious Raven and Beast Boy.”

All four of the Titans felt their rages growing at the insult of their friends.

Terra then stepped forward, and unsheathed her sword.

The thieves only laughed.

“A sword…? You’re going to beat us with that?”

“We have guns you know!”

Terra ignored their taunting, and brought the blade to her lips, kissing it softly, which made the blade glow brightly, and she gave it a single slash, sending a shockwave flying at all the men, destroying their weapons instantly.

The thieves began to cower, and ran for the nearest police wagon, not wanting anymore trouble from Terra’s weapon.

“That was too easy.” Terra said as she sheathed her sword.

“But it makes the job ten times as easy.” said Cyborg.

He was right, thanks to Terra’s new sword and the power it had, most battles were over before they even begun as the criminals all ended up the same-- cowering and running off.

Still, she wasn’t heavily reliant on it, and kept it in good shape, and she even studied in fencing with Robin.

“Friends…!” Starfire reminded everyone “We are expected in Equestria, for our acceptance awards.”

Everyone gasped!

Before they knew it, they were all gathered at Canterlot Palace, where the ceremony in their honor went smoothly. Queen Cadance wished to present the Titans with special medals of honor, for being wonderful allies as well as their services in helping them vanquish the great evil and helping to rebuild their world.

Princess Twilight gave out the medals as Cadance announced their names.

“Robin…

Starfire…

Cyborg…

…Terra.”

The Titans were pinned with solid gold medals carved in the shape of flying alicorns, each with a clear emerald in the center.

The crowds went wild with cheers, every pony, human, and other creature alike. The Titans stood proudly, waving at everyone.

After which, a big feast and party was held, with food, songs, dances for everyone, but some still felt a little down in the dumps-- Sweetie Belle in particular.

Thankfully, her parents were still alive, but they too were upset by the loss of Rarity.

Applebloom and Scootaloo didn’t know what else they could do, except spend as much time with her as possible and be kinda of like sisters to her, even though they already were, which Sweetie appreciated!

As for the guests of honor themselves, The Titans took a moment to be in a quiet area of the palace.

Down a corridor, the wall was aligned with special stained glass windows, each one of images of those who were lost in the war.

The Royal Sisters…

Shining Armor and Flurry Heart...

Spike…

Discord…

Rarity…

Raven…

…And especially Beast Boy.

The Titans were joined by Twilight, Cadance, and all their friends from the School of Friendship, and joined them in the moment of silence and mourning.

Twilight finally broke the silence softly saying to Robin, “So this is what it feels like.”

Robin nodded and explained for all to hear, like some deep interpretive narrator…

“Being a hero means sacrifice, loss, and painful scars that almost never heal.

Victory can sometimes come at a high price, and Friendship and Love can’t always make things better-- not right away, and sometimes never at all.

Just beware of things, that there is always another possibility, a chance, a way for things to happen, but be prepared for The Worst as well as The Best.”

Everyone agreed to those deep yet truthful words as they continued to gaze at the pictures, and looking ahead to what tomorrow would bring them.
