Your cell door buzzed and began to open. You watched your cage open slowly as you looked at the cuffs around your wrists.
“Alright, come on out, kiddo.” Said the officer next to you. You took a few steps outside of your cell and stopped. You didn’t know why you stopped, there was no need for hesitation. “What? Don’t wanna leave?” Asked the Officer. “We’d be happy to keep ya here where you belong.”
“Dick.” You thought to yourself as you began to walk again. Trudging slowly through the hallway full of cells, you looked at the inmates shouting at you from their cells.
“Well aren’t you lucky lil boy?”
“Oh come on, you weren’t even in here that long!”
“Don’t miss me too much?”
“Wanna switch places?”
The officer behind you jabbed you in the back with his nightstick. “Come on, I ain’t got all day.”
“Hey hey, I didn’t do anything to you.” You said with a snarl.
“Is that attitude I sense? I’ll throw your ass right back into that cell little boy!”
You decided to keep your mouth shut and keep on walking. The sooner you were out of this shit hole, the sooner you could freely talk shit. And who the hell was this officer calling little? You stood at six-foot-two and you were pretty damn muscular. You could drop his ass effortlessly if you wanted to. Whatever, just save it for after you leave. You left the cell hall and came up to a receptionist desk with an overweight lady sitting in the chair behind the glass.
“What can I do for you?” She asked in a flat tone.
“This one needs his stuff before he leaves.” Said the cop.
“Name?” She asked.
“Anon, last name Mous.” You said. The lady did some typing on the computer with a sigh.
“One moment please.” She said before standing up and walking away.
“So kid, what are you gonna do when you get out?” Asked the cop. Why the hell does he care?
“School. Work. Whatever finds it’s place in front of me.” You said, keeping your eyes forward. The cop was a rather ugly man, short and overweight. Very musty too, you could’ve sworn that he blended his food and shot it through a heroin needle based on the way he looked.
“Alright, well just stay outta trouble. I won’t be so nice if I see you here again.”
“You aren’t exactly Mr. Good Cop.” You said to yourself. You learned to keep your two cents to yourself in this last year. Getting into fights with other inmates wasn’t really something you feared, but getting more jail time or getting the possibility of parole taken away from you. Thankfully, it wasn’t taken from you. Your hearing was last month and the only one that showed up in your favor was your uncle Shaw. Your parents had given up on you when you were incarcerated for robbery, not that you cared. You realized that parents who give up on their children don’t deserve to be cared for by the child in question. You were snapped out of your thoughts by the receptionist coming back to the glass with a cardboard box.
“Here you go, sweetie.” She said, opening a one way door on the wall. “Stay outta trouble for me.”
“I’ll try, miss.” You said, grabbing your box. When you were incarcerated a year ago, you didn’t have much. Only your cell phone, watch, wallet, clothes. Looking down into the box, everything seemed to be there. Hell, there was even a stick of gum in there. Reaching into the box awkwardly because of your cuffs, you grabbed the chewy delicacy. You unwrapped it with one hand and popped it into your mouth, throwing the wrapper back into the box.
“Alright kiddo, lets get you out of here.” Said the cop. “Your ride is waiting outside.”
You were guided to the front entrance, going through several more security doors before actually stepping outside. When you finally reached the outdoors, you were nearly blinded by the sun. This happened nearly everyday, not much natural light got into the building. You only got to see the light of day for about one to two hours daily, so sunlight was a blessing to you. You walked through the summer heat towards the final gate to freedom, eyeing the guards as they did the same to you. They held their rifles as if you were going to try something funny. What would the point be? You’re getting released for fucks sake. When the main entrance opened, you were stopped by the officer behind you.
“One more thing,” he said, taking his key loop off of his hip. He unlocked your cuffs, taking them off your wrists.
“Thanks.” You said flatly.
“Catch ya later?” He said jokingly.
“I won’t make that mistake again.” You said as you turned around and left the gates of hell. They closed behind you as you stopped and closed your eyes, taking your first breath of freedom. It felt great, knowing you could finally do as you pleased with no restrictions. A horn was honked off to your left, and you opened your eyes to see your uncle Shaw sitting in his old orange 70’ charger. He beckoned you to come to him with his hand, which you took as your signal to get going. As you approached his car, he popped the trunk so you could place your box of stuff inside. You did so, closed the trunk, then walked back around to the front seat and climbed inside.
“Orange looks good on ya, kiddo.” Said your uncle with a laugh, giving your head a noogie.
“Heh heh, great to see you too.” You said. “Thanks for letting me crash with you.”
“Hey no problem, neph. You always were like a son to me ya know.” Shaw didn’t have any kids and wasn’t ever married, so spending time with him was always a gift to him. He was always very lax with you, letting you cuss like a sailer and drink or smoke all you wanted, so you were quite fond of him as well. Sure, we wasn’t the best role model but you loved him dearly. Shit, he was all you had at the moment, your parents don’t want anything to do with you so you were left with your uncle Shaw. You definitely weren’t complaining though. Although he was quite lax, he still wanted you to get an education. He took the time to enroll you in the local high school, Canterlot High, since you were expelled from your previous one. “Ready to go?” He asked, turning the keys and starting the engine.
“Very.” You said.
“Then let’s get it going! I got a little welcoming gift for ya at home.”
“Word, I like gifts.” You said, looking out the window. As your surroundings began to move past you, you decided to rest your head on the car window and close your eyes for a bit. You were quite restless this last year, a good nap would be great for you...

“Hey, we’re here bud.” Said Shaw as he shook you awake.
“Alright, alright, I’m up.” You said as you shook your head.
“Come on, grab your stuff and head to the garage.” He said as he got out of the car and walked to the garage. You opened the car door and stepped outside, taking a good stretch when your feet touched the ground. You closed the door behind you, walking to the trunk and grabbing your belongings. You closed the trunk and headed to the garage where your uncle was standing. He was leaning on a car that was covered by a tarp.
“Whatcha got for me here ol’ man?” You asked.
“Now I know how much you like classic American muscle, and I couldn’t exactly give ya your birthday gift while you were in jail, so I kept it here till you got out.”
Your stomach jumped upon hearing the words “classic American muscle”. Was he really going to give you what you thought he was gonna give you?
“I thought it’d be appropriate for you to show up to your new school in style, so I went all out for your gift. Here Anon, she’s all yours.” Shaw said, whipping off the tarp to reveal a matte black 1970 Dodge Challenger.
“Holy shit!” You exclaimed, walking over to your new ride. “You even got my favorite color!”
“Yessir, I thought it’d be cool to have your challenger match my charger, so I got ya this. She’s equipped with a hemi, so she can really purr. Why don’t you start her up?” You looked over to your uncle, jingling the keys in between his fingers. You held out your hands and he tossed them to you, and you ran to the driver’s side and climbed in. You put the keys in the ignition and turned them, followed by a loud start of the car. You revved the engine, rewarding you with the sweet sound of the engine.
“Mind if I take it for a spin?” You shouted over the sound of the engine.
“Go ahead kiddo, just make sure you got your license on ya. I’d hate to have to bail you outta jail on your first day out for not having a license.”
“Great! Thanks!” You got out of your ride and grabbed your wallet and your cell phone from the cardboard box. Before you got back into your car, you gave your uncle a big hug.
“Heh heh, love ya too kiddo.” He said. You broke the hug and climbed back into your car. Before you took off, Shaw knocked on your window. You rolled it down for him. “I don’t have a curfew, and the house key is under the door mat. Have fun kiddo!”
“Word, you know I will!” You said as you screeched your tires and took off from the garage. You pulled out of the dirt driveway and made a left, taking off down the road towards town. You weren’t exactly familiar with the area, being so far from your previous home in another city, but finding your way around was never hard for you. You were sure that you were outside of town, so you put the petal to the metal and speeded off towards Canterlot. “Well I’ll be damned.” You said to yourself. “For one bad kid, I’m still a spoiled son of a bitch.”
As you drove down the road, you admired the rural surroundings. Nothing but trees and farmland in sight. You always liked coming around here when you were younger, running though the forest or cornfields by yourself was a blast. Sure, it would’ve been nice having your friends over, not that you had many, but you by yourself was all you needed. You slowed down your vehicle to a sign on the side of the road. It read: Sweet Apple Acres, Help Wanted.
“Well, it’d be nice to have some money in my pocket.” You said. You were about to pull into the driveway of the farm, but you noticed that you were still in your jail uniform. “Eh, I’ll do it later.” You said as you drove passed the sign. Roughly twenty minutes of driving later, and you found yourself within the Canterlot city limits. You slowed your speed to avoid being pulled over and began to cruise through town. The place looked a lot different since you saw it last, then again it has been a few years. Your stomach began to growl, telling you that you haven’t eaten in all day. “I’m in the mood for something sweet, it’s been a whole ass year.” You said as you began to drive around, looking for a bakery or something close to that. After rounding a few blocks and cruising a few streets, you eventually came across Sugar Cube Corner. You found a parking spot and turned off your ride. Pulling your wallet out of your pocket, you found enough cash in there for a meal. “Good looks.” You said as you climbed out of your vehicle and went inside. Upon entering the bakery, it seemed dead. No customers and nobody at the front counter. “Odd.” You thought as you walked up to the front counter. “Hello?” You called, only to get no response. “Anybody home?” After a few moments of waiting, you decided you’d go elsewhere to eat. Right as you turned around, you were greeted by a pink-haired girl, nearly scaring you out of your socks.
“Gahhh!” You exclaimed, jumping back a little.
“Hi! My name’s Pinkie Pie but everyone calls me Pinkie!” She said, giving you a big hug. “What’s your name?” She asked, muffled from her face being buried in her chest.
“Well for starters,” you said, prying her off of you, “don’t touch me. Secondly, I don’t do names with strangers. Thirdly, can I get something to eat?”
“Oh I dunno...” said Pinkie, playing with her hair. “You didn’t say the magic word!”
You let out a sigh and facepalmed. This girl was too energetic for your liking. “Please?” You said flatly.
“Okie dokie lokie!” She said as she hopped over the counter. “What can I get for you, stranger?”
“I’ll take two raspberry jelly donuts, that’ll be all.” You said, whipping out a five from your wallet.
“Okay, that’ll be two bucks!” Said Pinkie, holding out her hand. You gave her the five and put your wallet back in your pocket.
“Keep the change.” You said.
“Why thank you, mister!” Said Pinkie, grabbing your pastries from the shelves below the counter. “Her ya go!” She said as she gave you a small tray with your donuts on them. “Eat em up! But not too fast or you’ll get a tummy ache, I learned that the hard way!”
“Right.” You said as you grabbed your tray. “Thanks for the advice.”
“Anytime!”
You took a seat at a booth and whipped out your phone. Plugging it into an outlet on the wall, you saw it resurrect from it’s dead state. You hoped the battery wasn’t fucked. As you waited for it to fully power on, you began to dig into one of your donuts. Upon taking your first bite, you let out a moan of satisfaction. This was the best damn donut you’ve ever had!
“Glad you like it!” Said Pinkie, leaning over the booth seat behind you. Letting out a shout of surprise, you saw your guest happily watching you eat your meal.
“Can I help you?” You ask, raising an eyebrow. This girl was starting to get on your nerves.
“Nope!” She said with a smile.
“Then what do you want?”
“I was just checking in, and why are you dressed like that?” She asked, pointing to your outfit.
“I just got outta jail.” You said flatly.
“Ohhh, scary! What’d you go there for?”
“None of your business.”
“Okay, jeez! Just asking.”
“And I’m just saying.”
Pinkie was caught off guard by your attitude, and she looked hurt. She said she would leave you alone as she slowly walked back behind the counter and into the employees only door.
“Pssh, softie.” You said as you continued to eat your food. Looking at your phone, you saw that you had no service. You whipped out your wallet and called your service provider to pay your bill. You knew you still had money on your debit card, so you didn’t worry about not having enough money. Once your bill was paid, you were barraged with notifications from various people. You checked some of them, they were your friends saying they miss you, emails with offers and new school opportunities, your parents cussing you out and saying that you’re gone. Nothing that you didn’t expect. You noticed a text from your uncle, saying he had put five grand in your account to carry you until you had managed to get a job. God, you loved that guy. You finished up your donuts and left the bakery, getting back into your car. You decided that you were going to go back to your place and change clothes and go interview for the farm job on Sweet Apple Acres, you decided that a labor job would be good for your body and would pay well at the same time. So, it was your best option that you could see. Not that you had many others, that is.

You pulled back into your uncle’s garage and checked the time. It was only three, so that was good. You still had plenty of time to get ready and go apply for a job. Figuring that the door was unlocked because it was still early, you tried the front door. Sure enough, it was open. Stepping inside, you looked around. Everything looked nearly the same, little rearranging done, save for the new TV and other appliances. Uncle Shaw didn’t have a super big place, just a double wide trailer that was neatly kept. What lacked in house was made up for with the outdoor property he owned, acres upon acres of forest in the surrounding area.
“Back already?” Called Shaw from the bathroom. He was peeking out of the door with a towel wrapped around his waist. His grey mullet was tied in a pony tail and his face was covered in shaving cream, he was holding a razor as well.
“Yeah, I figured I should get cleaned up before I go to apply for a job.”
“Gettin’ into it already? Good man!” He said. “Where at?”
“Sweet Apple Acres.”
“Oh! I heard they pay well and it’ll put those muscles to work, not that you need it. You looked like you bulked up considerably since the last time I saw ya.”
“Yep, hittin’ the weights in the yard every chance I got.” You said, flexing your bicep.
“Well, I had a moving crew set up your room while you were gone, it’s the room you always used to stay in when you were younger. Rearrange it to your liking, all your clothes are in your dresser too.”
“Oh word! Thanks!” You said as you walked towards your room. As you passed your uncle, you slapped his beer gut and told him to put a shirt on.
“Yeah yeah fuck you too!” He said as he closed the door.
Walking into your room, you saw that everything was neatly staged. Your bed was in the corner, your monitor and Xbox was placed against the wall, already hooked up. Hell, they even placed your headset on its stand. “Good looks.” You said as you walked over to your dresser. You decided to go with a simple white T shirt and some jeans for your outfit. You opened your closet and saw all of your shoes, dress clothes, and jackets placed in there neatly. You threw on some boots and tucked them under your jeans. On top of your dresser was your small items box, full of miscellaneous junk which you kept for hoarding sake. You opened it and pulled out a gold cross necklace that you bought from a pawn shop years ago. You threw it on, applied deodorant and cologne, and began to make your way out of your bedroom. You were stopped by the sight of your lucky hat hanging on a hook on the door. It was nothing flashy, just a regular hat with a bass on it. It had a few rips on the bill, which you felt added character to it. You took it off of the hook and put it on, facing it backwards. Looking in the mirror on your wall, the hat sat perfectly over your long hair and complimented your overall look well, just as it always did.
“I’m gonna have to chop this soon.” You said, looking at your hair and beard. You never took the time to shave over the last year, and it definitely showed. You took one last look at yourself and left your room. “I’ll be back later!” You called out as you exited the house. Climbing back into your car, you turned it on and let the engine warm up. Looking around, you noticed that a new radio was placed in with Bluetooth capability. “Not bad, old man.” You said with a smile. You connected your phone and began to shuffle old rock and metal. The first song to play was Back in Black by AC/DC. “Not bad again.” You said as you put your car into gear and pulled out of the garage.
As you flew down the road, you rolled down your windows to really get a feel for the moment. You couldn’t help but smile as you felt the wind hit your face and the music flow through your ears. Even though it was only your first day out, life was good, you weren’t complaining. You turned the radio up and sped up, eager to get to your destination.

You pulled into Sweet Apple Acres with your radio still blaring. You noticed some of the farmhands looking at you as you rolled down the rather long driveway, but you didn’t mind. They can suck your dick and fuckin’ like it if they didn’t like your music. You came to a stop in front of a white farmhouse. You turned your radio down and shut your vehicle off, taking a step outside onto the dirt driveway. You saw the same “help wanted” sign posted on the front porch, so you walked over to the house to ask for a job. Walking up the creaky wooden steps of the front porch, you felt a hint of nervousness in the back of your mind. Why the fuck were you nervous? You didn’t like that you were nervous. Get yourself together, Anon. You knocked on the front door and waited for an answer. You heard an “I’ll get it!” From inside, so at least you were going to be answered. When the front door opened, you were greeted by an orange-skinned girl wearing a Stetson, button up shirt and a denim skirt.
“Howdy, parter.” She said, leaning on the doorframe. “What can I do ya for?” The force of the south was strong with this one, where everything is bigger. The food, the accents, most noticeably her chest, which was slightly showing from the portion of her shirt that wasn’t buttoned up. You made sure that you only glared for a split second so you weren’t noticed.
“Yeah, I’m looking for a job.” You said. “I saw your sign while going down the road.”
“Well, I’ll be damned.” She said with a chuckle. “It ain’t everyday somebody comes lookin’ for a farm job. I’ll bet you were the one blarin’ that music too, weren’t ya?”
“Oh man, what gave it away?” You asked with a smirk.
“Smart one ain’t ya?” She asked. “Name’s Applejack, but everyone calls me AJ. Whichever ya prefer. I own the farm.” She held out her hand.
“Anon.” You said, shaking her hand. She had a very firm handshake, you liked that. Now if she knew about cars and was just as good in the garage as you were, then she’d be a keeper.
“Come sit.” She said, walking passed you and taking a seat on one of the rocking chairs on the porch. You obliged, taking a seat in one next to hers.
“Tell me why you want a farm job.” She said, crossing her legs.
“Well, I don’t mean to brag but I’m pretty built, so I can lift quite a bit.” You said, patting your arm. “That, and I think manual labor suits my personality more than food jobs or janitorial jobs. Stuff like that.”
“Are ya willin’ to take orders?”
“As long as I know you aren’t taking advantage of me.”
“Do ya have an attitude?”
“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t.”
“Got any references?”
“Not exactly.”
“Alright, when can ya start?” Applejack asked, standing up from her seat. You were slightly taken back by how quick that happened, but you weren’t complaining.
“How about now?”
“Sounds good. I think I’m gonna like you, Anon. You seem to be honest enough and that’s my number one policy.”
“Word, I dig that. Thanks for accepting me.” You stood up from your chair and took a quick stretch.
“Anytime, parter.”
“So, where do I start?” You asked.
“Hmm,” Applejack hummed as she put her hand on her chin. After a moment of thought, she looked like she had an idea. “C’mon, follow me.”
You began to follow Applejack off of the porch to wherever she planned to take you. As the two of you passed your car, you noticed she was eyeing your ride.
“Nice ride ya got there.” She said. “70’ Challenger, right?”
“Well I’ll be damned.” you said, mocking Applejack from earlier with a southern accent. “It ain’t everyday you see a perty girl that knows her cars.”
“Are you mockin’ me?” She asked over her shoulder with a smirk.
“Perhaps.”
“Alright, well yer lucky I’m in a good mood.” She Said with a chuckle.
“We’ll see.”
The two of you continued walking towards a barn that was just off of the driveway. While walking behind her, you noticed that she swayed her hips when walking, nearly putting you in a trance. Even with that denim skirt on, you could tell that Applejack definitely packed in the backside. Not wanting to get caught staring on the first day on the job, you looked away from your eye candy. You and Applejack entered the barn, which was empty save for a man working on a tractor.
“Hey Mac!” Called out Applejack.
“Eeyup?” Replied the man, not looking away from the tractor.
“We got a new farmhand, I want you to show him around and give him some work to do.” Said Applejack, walking over to the man. You followed.
“Alright, I suppose I could do that.” He said, taking his head out of the motor and wiping his oil-covered hands on a rag. He was a very tall, standing at about six-five, muscular, blonde hair and blue eyes. The true look of a farmhand if you do say so yourself.
“Anon, this is Big Macintosh. Macintosh, Anon.” Said Applejack, looking at the both of you. You and Macintosh shook hands. You could see why he was labeled “big”.
“You can call me Mac, parter.” Mac said, with the same southern accent as Applejack.
“Alright, well I’ll leave you two to yourselves.” Said Applejack as she turned to leave the barn. “Mac, don’t go too easy on em!”
“I’ll try.” Said Mac. He tossed his oil rag onto the tractor and beckoned for you to follow him.
As you walked beside Mac, you decided to make some conversation with him. That was new, since you typically never did that with strangers. However, you felt as if knowing who this guy was could really help you out in the long run.
“So, how long you been working here?” You asked.
“My whole life.”
“Holy shit, really?”
“Eeyup.”
“How’d you manage to get the job?”
“Well Applejack and I been working here to help Granny Smith for as long as I can remember. She can’t exactly do it herself no more, so someone had to do it.”
“Hold on, I thought Applejack owned the farm?”
“Her and I do along with Granny Smith. It’s family owned.”
“Oh, so y’all are siblings? I couldn’t tell.” You said with a chuckle.
“Eeyup.”
“How old are y’all then?”
“AJ and I are 17.”
“No way, I can see AJ being 17 but you look a lot older than you are!”
“Nope. I can tell ya that we’re here, though.”
You found yourself in the middle of an Apple Orchard. What did you expect? It’s Sweet Apple Acres you dumbass.
“Neat. So what do we do?” You asked.
Mac grabbed a few baskets off of a conveniently placed trailer and set them on the ground, save for one.
“What ya wanna do here is take as many apples off this tree as it takes to fill a bushel. You could pick em one by one if you’d like, but I find it easier to just shake the tree and let the apples fall to the ground.” Mac violently shook the tree, stripping it off several apples. “Then ya just fill the bushel and bring it to the black barn, not the red barn.”
“Got it. Wouldn’t that bruise the apples, though?” You asked.
“It’s cider season, that doesn’t matter at the moment. I’ll be here to help ya out since it’s yer first day. You’ll get the hang of it quickly, partner. You look like you got enough muscle to lift two bushels at a time.”
“I bet I could do three to four if I wanted to.” You Said, looking at the baskets.
“Now that’s somethin’ ya don’t wanna do. You’ll overwork yourself and pass out, especially with this heat. Trust me, parter. I learned the hard way.”
“Alright, I’ll take your word for it. Shall we begin?” You asked, grabbing hold of a tree.
“Eeyup.”
You and Mac got to work, shaking trees and filling bushels. Carrying two bushels at a time, you walked to the black barn that Mac told you about and placed them inside. Piece of cake. Well, or so you thought. For about two hours you were fine, but the walks to the barn and back really began to kick your ass. You however, were far from a bitching quitter. So, you toughed it out.
“You alright, parter?” Asked Mac. “You look like you need some water.”
“That’d be nice.” You said, picking up a couple bushels. “I hate to complain, but I feel as if I might pass out without some.”
“I understand, it happens. Follow me to the barn and I’ll get ya somethin’ to drink.”
“Word, sounds good.”
You and Mac walked through the apple orchard to the barn. When you got to the barn, you tried your hardest to gently set down the apples and not let your fatigue get in the way of your job. You clumsily set the apples on the concrete floor and collapsed on a nearby hay bale.
“You gonna make it?” Asked Mac
“Yeah,” you said in between breaths. “Just gimme a minute.”
“Alright, well you can wait here while I get ya some ice water.”
“Appreciate it, man.” You said as Mac left the barn.
You lie back and take a moment to cool down. You loved warm weather, but the heat was really being a bitch right now. You took the end of your shirt and wiped off your sweaty face. You noticed that you smelled like man odor, should’ve reapplied your deodorant at home.
“Farm life not what you expected, sugarcube?” Asked Applejack.
You looked to your left and saw Applejack standing there, arms crossed and a smug smirk.
“It’s definitely gonna take some adjusting, but I’ll get used to it.” You said, sitting up.
“Taking a break already? You ain’t even been working that long!” Asked Applejack.
“Well Mac said I’d pass out if I didn’t get water, so he told me to wait here while he got me some.”
“Excuses, excuses.”
“It’s true ya know.” Said Mac, walking into the barn with some paper cups one of those five gallon drink coolers you see at parties. “You mus’ be crazy if ya think Anon would make it through the day without water.”
“I suppose yer right, my apologies.” Said Applejack.
“No biggie.” You said as you stood up from the hay bale. “I’m thirsty as a motherfucker right now.”
“Alright alright, here ya go partner.” Said Mac as he set the water cooler on the hay bales. “Drink up.”
You grabbed a paper cup and filled yourself up, quickly downing the ice cold elixir of hydration. When you finished, you poured yourself another and downed it again. As you continued to drink more cups, you heard Applejack chuckle.
“Slow down there partner, yer gonna give yerself a tummy ache.”
You finished another cup and let out a loud “ahh” of satisfaction.
“I’ll be fine.” You said, wiping your mouth. “Hey Mac, how long do you guys work for around here?”
“We usually go till dark.” Said Mac, looking at his watch. “I’d say we still got ‘bout a few hours of sunlight left.”
“Already eager to get off are ya?” Asked Applejack with a smirk.
“Nah, just curious is all.”
“Quit pickin’ on the new guy, AJ.” Said Mac, giving his sister a nudge.
“Quit bein’ soft on the new guy, Mac.” Retorted Applejack playfully, giving her brother a nudge. Unlike Applejack, though, Mac didn’t budge.
“We gonna get back to work?” You said with a laugh.
“I dunno, are ya?” Asked Applejack, looking at Mac.
“Now just what in the hell have you done today?” Asked Mac.
“Hey, I’ve been inside all day managin’ our finances, I been just as busy as you!”
“You know very well Granny Smith could do that!”
“Well I’m doin’ it outta the kindness of ma heart!”
“Kindness or laziness?”
“Shut it!” Applejack Said, giving Mac a playful punch in the chest. They both had a laugh and gave each other a hug.
“Alright, Anon and I’ll get back to work.” Said Mac. “Let’s get to it, parter.”
You and Mac began to make your way out of the barn when Applejack tagged along.
“I’m done with all the paperwork anyway, I might as well come help y’all.” She said.
“We could use an extra set of hands.” Said Mac. “Anon’s kinda slow.” He said jokingly.
“Can it!” You said, bumping Mac with your shoulder. He moved off to the side a bit when you bumped him, causing him to give you a look of surprise.
“Well, well.” Said Mac. “It’s been a minute since I’ve seen someone that could really push me. AJ can’t even move me.”
“Yeah right! Can too!” Said Applejack. “Remember that one time I basically whooped yer ass?”
“That was like what, when we were twelve?” Asked Mac.
Applejack let out an annoyed grunt as the three of you approached the orchard.
“Alright, lets get to it y’all.” Said Mac.
The three of you began to repeat the process that you had learned earlier. Shake, fill, carry, repeat. You worked for hours doing the same thing, stopping for water every now and then. When the sun had set, Mac decided that it was time to call it a day.
“Alright y’all, that’s good for one day.” Said Mac, setting the last bushels of apples in the barn. “Great work today, Anon. Glad to have ya here.”
“Yeah no prob, I appreciate you looking out for me earlier as well.” You replied.
“Anytime, parter.” Said Mac as he gave you a pat on the shoulder. “Would you and AJ mind cleanin’ up in here before ya take off? I gotta go ring the bell on the porch and let the farmhands know they can clock out.”
“Sure thing.” You said.
“No problem.” Said Applejack.
“Thanks, I’ll catch ya later Anon.” Said Mac as he left the barn.
“So, What do we do here?” You turned to Applejack.
“Basically ya just sweep all the dirt an’ shit to the outside and we can call it good.”
“Oh, word.” You said as walked over to a corner and grabbed a broom for you and Applejack. She thanked you as you tossed it to her. While she began to sweep, you took your sweat-soaked shirt off and stuff it in your back pocket, letting half of it hang out. You heard Applejack give you a playful whistle. “What? Can’t take a soaked shirt off?”
“Nah, that’s perfectly fine sugarcube.” Said Applejack. “Ya just look pretty darn fit.”
“Yeah, I’ve been a little bit of a fitness geek all my life.” You said, sweeping the garage. “I really went crazy with the weights over the last year, it dramatically changed my overall look.”
“Wow, What For?”
“Let’s say I didn’t have much to do.” You didn’t wanna tell Applejack about your last year, you didn’t want to make a bad impression on her. Especially since you didn’t tell her earlier.
“Uh huh.” Said Applejack suspiciously. “Alrighty then.”
The two of you finished your sweeping and closed up the barn. As you walked outside, you noticed some of the farmhands looking at you and whispering to each other. You decided to keep your mouth shut, no point in making a scene if they don’t have the balls to say anything to your face. You unlocked your car and climbed inside, flinching a bit at the cold leather seat. You turned the keys in the ignition and started up the engine. You heard a knock on your window, it was Applejack. You rolled it down.
“What’s up?” You asked.
“Can I get yer number? I need to be able to get a hold of ya when I need ya.”
“Ah, asking for my digits already?” You asked with a laugh.
“Shut up!” Said Applejack, giving you a playful punch in the shoulder. You opened your glovebox and pulled out a pen and asked for Applejack’s arm. You wrote your number down with the pen, and she gave you a smile. “Thanks, partner. Catch ya tomorrow?”
“Sounds like a plan, take it easy.” You Said as you put your car in reverse.
Applejack got up from leaning on your car. “You do the same, sugarcube.”
You backed out of the driveway a bit before turning around. You slowly drove down the driveway as you chose a station on the radio from your phone. When you found something you liked, you set your phone down, turned the radio up, and sped home to take a shower.

“Hey kiddo, wake up!” Said your uncle Shaw, shaking you lightly.
“Hm?” You asked groggily, sitting up.
“Your tour Canterlot High today, you know that right?”
“Shit, really?”
“Yeah, cmon and get dressed.”
“Alright, alright.”
Your uncle left your room, closing the door behind him. You stood up from your bed, taking your daily morning stretch. You let out a satisfied sigh as your muscles loosened, being relieved of the overnight tension. Thankfully you weren’t sore from yesterday, you had done enough weightlifting in the last year to be conditioned for your job. You walked over to your dresser and threw on a quick outfit, jeans and a black T shirt with a pocket on the chest. Throwing on your boots and some cologne, you left your room and made your way out into the living room. Shaw was sitting in his recliner waiting for you. When he saw you, he shot up and basically pulled you out of the front door.
“Cmon, kiddo!” He said, leading you to your vehicle. “We ain’t got all day!”
“I’ll roundhouse your ass if you don’t let go!” You said playfully. “I can walk myself to my car.”
Shaw let go of your wrist, running to his car. “Follow me, kid!”
You climbed into your vehicle and put the key in the ignition, turning it sideways. You were rewarded with the purr of the engine, putting a smile on your face. You looked up to see that your uncle was already pulling out of the driveway, so you followed. What was he so eager for, anyway? You were sure that these open houses for schools went on all day. You assumed it was because he was so new to being something close to an actual parent. He’s never had a responsibility like this before, so you guess you could understand his overeager attitude towards getting you in school. You decided not to say anything to him, it felt like a dick move to shut him down like that, so you were just going to leave it be. The two of you drove down the dirt road, which eventually changed into the black pavement of the city roads. Canterlot seemed awfully lively today, parking lots full of cars, sidewalks occupied by people, whatever it may be. You and your uncle’s cars got many looks from the people you passed, their eyes looking at your smooth chariots in awe. You smiled to yourself and returned your eyes to the road, still following your uncle to your destination.
A few minutes of cruising later, you found yourself pulling into Canterlot High. It looked like a fairly larger school than your last one, more expensive too. It nearly looked like a university upon first glance, with the roof shaped into a dome, flags on the corners, and even a large statue of a horse out in the courtyard. You followed your uncle through the parking lot, struggling to find two vacant spots next to each other.
“Dear lord,” you mumbled, following your uncle around like a dumbass. You eventually found your spaces next to each other after what felt like ages rolling around the lot. You turned off your whip and stepped out, stretching in the warm summer sun. Your uncle stepped out of his ride with a vibrant hop, and looked right at you.
“Are ya ready, kid?” He asked enthusiastically.
“Something like that.” You replied, spinning your keys around your finger.
“C’mon, you’ll live.” He said, beckoning you to follow. “Let’s go on inside.”
You followed your uncle once more, only this time on foot. You looked up at the massive school building in front of you, soaking in the fact that your life may change dramatically. A few kids were standing outside of the school building, talking with their peers. You got a few glances, all of them with different expressions, but you didn’t really mind. You and Shaw approached the front doors, and he held it open for you once he opened it.
“After you.”
“Thank you sir.” You said.
You took a deep breath of the school’s air. It smelled sterile, something you didn’t have a problem with. After being around nothing but B.O. for a year, it was a nice change of pace.
“Let’s go get your schedule from the office.” Shaw said. The two of you made your way to the front office, a big room with other rooms branching out from it. You weren’t surprised, the place looks like it meant business. You were greeted by a receptionist.
“How May I help you two?” She asked in a polite tone.
“I’m here for my boy’s schedule, name’s Anon Mous.”
“Alright, one second please.” She said before doing some typing.
After a few moments passed, she got up from her chair and walked over to a printer, which began to make a whirring noise. It then shot out a piece of paper, which you assumed was your schedule. With the piece of paper in hand, the receptionist returned to her seat and handed it to you.
“There you are, Mister!” She said with a smile. “Good luck today!”
“Thank you ma’am,” said you uncle. He made his way out of the office, you following behind.
You followed your uncle through what was probably the main hall, full of trophy cases and a bunch of other school propaganda. You were surprised you managed to keep up with him, you two weren’t the only ones trying to make your way through the hallway at that moment. Hundreds of other people, varying in age, were shoving their way through the halls trying to get to their classes. You assumed the little ones were the freshies and sophomores, and the ones your height and older looking were the upper classmen.
“Well, this is kinda chaotic.” Said Shaw, turning to look at you.
“Chaotic?” You asked with a laugh. “This ain’t shit! Prison riots are chaotic!”
“Boy shut your mouth!” Shaw laughed. “You’ve only been to jail, not no prison!”
“Same thing!” You retorted. “I don’t see ‘prison’ on your record either!”
“I ain’t talking like it is!” Said Shaw, looking around. “C’mon now, I think your first period is just around the corner!”

An hour or two passed, you had met with your teachers, blah, blah, blah. It was safe to say that you were bored. You would much rather be working right now. You continued to follow your uncle around the school, looking at whatever he seemed interested in.
“What do ya think?” He asked.
“It’s alright, just a high school.” You said with a shrug.
“Seriously? This place is awesome!”
“I suppose it’s pretty high end.”
“You’ll like it, you just gotta warm up to it.”
“We’ll see.”
“I’m sure we’ve seen enough, cmon now. Let’s go home.”
“Cool with me.”
You began to follow your uncle to the doors in which you came. Although online school in jail was a drag, it was still better than public school. However, your uncle wanted you to get out and be social, he didn’t want you kept up in your room all the time. Obliging was the least you could do for him, anything to show your appreciation to him. You and Shaw passed several students as the both of you made your way out of the school. You rounded a corner and saw the main doors at the end of the hall. You let out a sigh of relief as you made the final stretch, you really wanted to go home and nap before work. Navigating your way through the horde of students around you, you got more and more excited with each and every step you took. Just when you thought it was over, you were slapped in the face by the universe. A lady, a rather older looking one, caught you and your uncle by the office doorway. Now, She wasn’t Granny old. She was more the milf type of old. You chose not to eye her body because women of her age usually spot that (according to your uncle), so you kept eye contact.
“Shaw Mous?” Asked the lady.
“That’s me. Principal Celestia?” Said your uncle.
“Yes sir.” She said as they shook hands. “Is this your nephew?” She asked looking at you.
This lady was asking the most obvious questions at the moment. She clearly knew who the both of you were because she had stopped you, so why waste time with this shit? Hell, you just wanted to leave.
“That’s him.” Said Shaw.
“Principal Celestia, it’s nice to meet you Anon.” She Said as she held out her hand.
You shook, but said nothing. You wanted to say “what do you want?” With the nastiest tone possible, but that’s probably going to do you more bad than good. So, the lips stayed shut. Celestia turned to your uncle and began to speak again.
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to bring Anon into my office and have a word with him.”
“Oh? What for?” Asked your uncle.
“He happens to be our only new student this year, so I’d like to ask him a few questions to get to know him better.”
‘Bullshit.’ You said to yourself. ‘I’ll bet it’s to talk about where I’ve been for the last year.’
“Alrighty, sounds good. I’ll be out in my car, Anon.” Said Shaw as he turned and made his way for the main doors.
“Anon, if you’ll follow me I’ll bring you to my office.”
You internally sighed of annoyance.
“Lead the way.” You Said. Celestia nodded and walked into the office, greeted the receptionist, and took you to a door behind the front desk. She opened the door and allowed you to enter.
“Please, have a seat.” She Said as she motioned to the chair on the opposite side of her end of the desk. You sat down and took a brief glance around the room. File cabinets, pictures of students and her, trophies, a laptop. Nothing special. Celestia took her seat and let out a sigh. You decided you wanted her to cut the shit.
“I’m not the only new student, am I?” You asked, arms folded.
Celestia looked shocked by your question. “What?”
“I don’t think I need to repeat myself, you heard me. Cmon, be honest. You wanna talk about where I’ve been for the last year.” You wanted to smirk, but it was best for you to keep a straight face. You didn’t wanna fuck anything up, what you just did was already risky enough.
Celestia paused and stared at you in surprise. After a few moments of silence, she smiled calmly and began to speak again.
“You’re a smart boy, Anon. Yes, I’ve brought you here to speak about your record.”
“What about it?”
“Well as far as I’m aware, you were charged with armed robbery and spent a year in jail, where you were bailed out by your uncle Shaw a few days ago. We’ve never had a student here whose done something so... bold. I just want to ask, are you going to be a threat to our school?”
You stared at Celestia with an unamused glare. Did she really just ask that? She looked very uneasy as you continued to eye her down. Being intimidating wasn’t your goal here, so you spoke up.
“Principal Celestia, I don’t think it was a good idea to ask me that, nor was it to lie to my uncle, but I forgive you. No, I’m not gonna be a treat to the school, just because I’m an ex-con doesn’t mean I’m dangerous.”
Celestia paused again, only this time looking embarrassed. You didn’t want to waste your time just sitting here in the principal’s office and shit on her, you had a nap on your schedule.
“Are we done here? I’ve got things to do today.” You asked.
“Oh, um... yes. You are dismissed.” Said Celestia.
You stood up from your chair and left the office without another word. Exiting the school, you made your way to your car which was parked next to your uncle’s. You took out your keys and began to twirl them on your fingers. You laughed to yourself as you walked closer to your car.
“Heh, what a bitch.”
Chapter Four: First Day In

It’s currently 6 in the morning, and you were on your way to Sugarcircle Block or whatever the fuck it was called. You woke up extra early just to be able to have time to get some breakfast, as for you developed a craving for donuts sometime late last night. So here you were now, speeding down the road, hungry as hell, and rocking on to some Slipknot. It was nice to hear music again, it didn’t play much in the slammer. When it did, you never paid mind because it was fucking awful. Some shit that would play at an anger management class or something. You shook the awful thoughts out of your head and resumed your focus on the heavy metal.
You got into town and eventually made your way into the Sugarcube Corner parking lot. Eh, your name for it was close enough. You turned off your car, hopped out, and made your way inside the building. Opening the door, you were hit by the smell of pastries and coffee. It brought a smile to your face, which was weird because you never smiled before 10 in the morning. Your smile only grew bigger as for you were greeted by someone else besides the pink girl. She happened to be your only con on the list to coming here, and she wasn’t here! Big score, Anon.
“Hi, welcome to Sugarcube Corner! Come on in!” Said the lady behind the desk. You proceeded to the front desk and looked at the various delicacies behind the glass below you. “What would you like this morning, sir?”
“Two raspberry jelly donuts and a coffee. Keep it black.” You said.
“Black, Huh?” Said the lady at the desk as she put on a glove and went to grab your breakfast from the shelves below. “That’s the first time I’ve ever seen a kid ask for a black coffee. Tell me, how old are you?”
“Doesn’t matter, ma’am. I just want my breakfast.” You replied, keeping your eyes down on your food on the shelves.
The lady looked a bit taken back by your answer. “Well, gee. My apologies sir.”
“No need for apologies. It’s just too early for this, I suppose.”
“I understand honey,” the lady said as she poured your morning elixir. “Not everyone is a morning person.”
You remained silent as for you couldn’t think of a necessary reply. She handed you your drink and food, you paid, then you went and took a seat in the lobby. You plopped yourself in a booth and went to town on your donuts. As you expected, they were amazing. Jelly donuts and you went together like... well, something that goes well together. Let’s just say butter on toast. Taking a sip of coffee, you shivered a slight bit at the bitter taste. Black coffee was something you loved and hated. Like Elliot from Open Season said, “it’s like freedom in a cup”. Checking the time, you saw that you still had roughly an hour before your first period started. Yeah, you had time. However, it wouldn’t hurt to walk around the school for a bit. You quickly finished your breakfast, grabbed your coffee, and got up from your seat. You thanked the lady at the front counter with a silent wave. Whether she got it or not, it was still a thank you. You hopped back in your car and placed your coffee in the cup holder. Putting your keys in the ignition and giving them a turn, you began to make your way to Canterlot High.
“Huh, only quarter to 7 and the place is already packed.” You said as you pulled into the parking lot. It wasn’t as dense as it was during the open house, but still quite populous. You found a parking spot after a few minutes of roaming around and turned off your car. You decided to chill in your car till it hit 7, so you put your seat back and listened to some music. You hummed along to the song that was playing on your radio, “Patience” by Guns N Roses. It was a good song for the morning, nice and mellow. You patted on your thighs with the beat and closed your eyes, keeping your good vibes going. Midway through the song, your eyes opened to the sound of voices outside of your ride. You pulled your seat up and saw that some douche was sitting on the hood of your car like it was his. He was talking to some chick, probably trying to act cool or whatever. No sir, this was not your car. You honked your horn, making the guy nearly jump out of his socks. You held your hands up in a “seriously?” Kind of fashion, only to get the same response from the guy.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me...” you said as you got out of your car. “Really man?”
“What? I was just chilling, I wasn’t hurting anyone.” Said the blue haired boy.
“Yeah, but your ass was on MY car.” You said, pointing to your hood.
“Like I Said, I wasn’t hurting anyone!”
“Yeah well I’m about to be hurting someone if you don’t get lost!” You said, closing your fists.
“Oh come on guys quit!” Said the girl, getting in between the both of you.
“Get the fuck back, lady!” You said, looking at the girl now. “Mind your damn business!”
“Hey, don’t talk to her like that! She’s a girl!”
“What you gonna do about it, simp?” You said, looking at the boy.
He glared at you like he wanted to hit you, but he wasn’t going to. You could see it in his eyes. After a silent staring battle, he let out a long sigh and put his arm around the girl.
“Come on, let’s go elsewhere.”
As you watched the two of them walk off, you unballed your fists. Turning around, you saw that a small crowd had gathered around you.
“Get lost, nothing to see here.” You said as you opened your car door and climbed back inside. “What a hoe.” You said. You let out an annoyed sigh and put your seat back down, closing your eyes. Letting out an annoyed sigh, you began to attempt to relax again. Fuck going into the school for a bit, you’re using the rest of the time you had to chill. Laying in your seat and vining to music once again, you let the time pass until it was time to get to class.
Eventually the alarm on your phone went off, signaling you that it was time to get moving. It was currently 7:20, so you had 10 minutes. You put your seat back up and turned off your car. You grabbed your backpack from the passenger seat and your coffee from the cup holder, then got out of your car and made your way across the parking lot. The warm morning summer air felt nice, even with you wearing a leather jacket. Maybe even finding a fishing spot somewhere would need to happen soon.
Entering the school, you saw other students frantically making their way to class, chilling by their lockers, etc. Pulling your schedule out of your pocket, you took a look at the sheet of paper and set your destination to physics. Walking through the halls, you were bumped into several times. You didn’t really mind, it was a big school and people had places to be, so it was understandable. What you had a problem with is when someone would make a smartass remark like “watch it” or “look where you’re going”. You just kept your mouth shut. You’ve had enough attention this morning, and every now and then you caught someone glaring at you, most likely for the event in the parking lot. When you got to your classroom, you were greeted by your teacher and told to sit anywhere. You nodded and found yourself a seat at a lab table in the very back. The back of the classroom was something you always liked to call your territory. It just had a better feeling than being in full view of the teacher, not that you were always doing something bad. You decided to pull your phone out and kill time while the classroom continued to fill up. Thankfully, nobody decided to take a seat next to you. You could use the extra chair as a footrest if nobody was next to you.
“Excuse me, May I sit next to you?”
Speak of the devil. You jinxed it, Anon. Good job.
You looked at the girl who asked the question, then looked around the classroom to recommend another seat. Every other seat was taken. Son of a bitch.
“Go ahead.” You said, looking back down at your phone.
“Thank you, I’m Twilight Sparkle.” Said the girl with a smile. Is she really gonna hit you with this now? Well, you suppose it’s better than an asshole.
“Anon.” You replied.
“You ready for the first day back?”
“I suppose.”
“That’s nice, I’m pretty excited!”
“Word.”
“Do you like physics?”
“Never taken it.”
“Well, how do you feel about science?”
“It’s alright.”
Twilight kept shooting questions and a bunch of other bullshit at you. You maintained eye contact with your phone the entire time, you were surprised she didn’t see your disinterest. Thankfully, you were saved by the bell ringing shortly after. She seemed eager to learn, because as soon as class started, she went silent and opened her notes without being instructed to do so.
‘Huh, nerdy one.’ You thought to yourself. ‘Good for help if I need it.’
Class went by as expected for the first day, just introductions, the syllabus, other stuff. Same could be said for the rest of your morning classes. Only differences were that nobody decided to talk to you like Twilight did, so that was a plus. When lunch came around, you left the building to go get some lunch. As you walked through the parking lot, you saw that several students were doing the same as you. Yeah, there was no way in hell you were eating school food. You climbed in your car and drove off, beginning your search for something decent to eat. You didn’t exactly want a diner, although having good food the wait would probably give you no time to enjoy your food and get back to school on time. You also didn’t want some bland ass fast food like McDonald’s, but fast food seemed like your best option at the moment. After a few moments of deciding, you settled on Wendy’s. You got your meal, drove back to the school, then chilled in the parking lot while you ate your food.
Nomming down on the good shit, you turned on your radio to avoid silence. Not that you cared about what others thought of you, but a dude sitting in his car alone chowing down on Wendy’s in silence sounded weird to you. While eating your meal, you nearly zoned out to your surroundings. The combined vibes you got from your music and pure bliss the food gave you a sense of content and escape from the world around you. You didn’t necessarily need an escape, but it felt nice to go into a true comfort zone every once in a while.
Just as quick as it appeared, your happy place faded away from a sudden knocking sound on your window. Really? You closed your eyes and let out an annoyed sigh. Turning to the window, you shouted “What?!” In an angry questioning tone. However, your mood quickly changed when you saw a familiar face standing on the other side of the glass.
“Well someone’s grumpy.” Said Applejack. You rolled down your window to speak with her more clearly.
“Finally, I face that I don’t mind seeing.” You said. “How’d you find me?”
“Well, I came out here to grab my phone charger from my truck and I recognized your car.” She said in her usual southern accent. “Either someone in this school has just as good taste as you, or it was you. And look who I found.”
“Welp, here I am. How’s your day going?”
“Eh, same ol’ stuff you’d expect for the first day of school. How bout you? Why in the hell are ya out here by yerself eatin’ Wendy’s?”
“Oh you know, kids in this school are a bunch of pricks.”
“Is it cuz of yer lil’ situation this mornin’?”
“How do you know about that?” You asked, sitting up straight.
“Just bout everybody’s talkin’ bout it. Nearly havin’ a fight on day one? Big news, partner. I heard it from my friends at lunch.”
You sighed and sat back into your seat, putting your hands over your face. Cool, day one and you’ve already brought attention to yourself.
“Hey, relax, partner.” Applejack said with a smile. “You haven’t gotten into any trouble yet, so maybe the principals aren’t gonna do nothin’ bout it.”
“Right, but I really don’t like to bring attention to myself.”
“I’m sure it’ll blow over soon.” She said, looking at her phone. “Hey, I’ve gotta go. Class starts soon, I’ll catch ya later today at the acres.” Applejack gave you a wave and walked back towards the school. Taking a look at your phone, you saw that class started in 10 minutes. You took the burger that was sitting on the center console and wrapped it up for later, stuffing it back into the bag. You rolled up your window and got out of your car, closing the door behind you and locking it. With your backpack in hand, you slung it over your shoulder and began making your way through the parking lot back towards the school. Well Anon, let’s get the second half of the day over with.

The 8th period bell rung, signifying that your day was over. You stood up from your chair and put your backpack on, ignoring whatever the teacher was saying as you and the rest of the class walked out of the door. Walking through the halls and fighting your way through the horde of teens, you mentally did a recap of your day. You eventually settled on meh, could be better, could be worse. Fair enough, Anon. It was safe to say, however, that you were ready to leave. After turning a few corners and walking down some hallways, the main doors came into few. Awesome. Picking up your pace a bit, you made your way towards your sweet release. While you were walking, a short, chubby man stepped in front of you, cutting off your path.
“Hey there, buddy. How you doing?” He asked in an enthusiastic tone. His smile was wide, his hair was losing color, and he was wearing a hat sporting the Canterlot High logo on it.
“Can I help you?” You asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Heh heh, the real question is can I help you?” He asked, keeping the same tone with the smile to go with it.
“No.” You said, walking around him, resuming your walk towards the outdoors.
“Wait wait wait wait wait!” Said the man, cutting you off once more. The dude may be fat, but you swear he moved within the blink of an eye. While impressed, you were also getting annoyed.
“What do you want, man?” You asked, increasing your tone.
“Now now, calm down son. I’ve just noticed you walking around the halls all day and you look pretty well built. I want you to join the Canterlot High football team.”
Seriously? The dudes been watching you all day? What a fucking weirdo.
“Well? Whaddaya say?” Asked the man. You looked at him with a mildly disgusted look on your face. His eyes looked like he was insane, like he was craving you. Yeah, that’s gonna be a no from you.
“Nah, I’m good.” You said, walking past him once more. This time you jogged away, just to make sure chunky cheese couldn’t catch up with you. You eventually reached the doors, still flooding with exiting students. You pushed past them and took a deep breath. Not exactly as satisfying as the first one out of jail, but it still felt nice. Now walking through the front yard or whatever it’s called, you pulled your keys out of your pocket and twirled them on your finger, whistling the tune of Death’s Head by Slayer. You took a look around you. Nice day out, a bit windy but the sun was shining and the skies were clear. Hell, you just might even take off your jacket. It was pretty warm out, after all. You stuffed your keys back in your pocket and took your jacket off. Draping it over your shoulder you resumed your walk to the car. One minute there was light, the next there was slightly less light. You took the object that was obstructing your view from your face. It was a piece of paper, what are the fucking odds? How cliche to a storybook or a movie or whatever it may be. You took a look around to see if anybody had lost something. Over by the fountain you spotted a pink-haired girl with a stack of papers, it looked like she was trying to hand them out. Looking at the piece of paper, you saw it was a flyer for volunteering at some animal shelter. You began to walk over to the girl, who didn’t seem to notice your presence. Is it just you, or doesn’t everyone know when they’re being watched? Well Anon, you weren’t exactly watching her but... you get the gist. You approached the girl, who finally took notice to you.
“This yours?” You asked, holding up the piece of paper. She didn’t reply, but sat there staring at you like she had just seen a ghost. “Well?” You asked, raising an eyebrow. She continued to stay silent, simply staring at you. You waited there for a bit longer before you grew impatient. You took a look at the stack of papers in her hand and saw that they matched the one you were holding.
“Alright, well I don’t have all day, so I’m gonna give you this,” you said, slipping the piece of paper into the stack she was holding. As you did so, she let out a small ‘eep!’, nearly inaudible. “And I’m gonna dip. Invest in a binder or a paperweight or something.” And with that, you turned around and continued your journey to your car. As the grass eventually turned to pavement, you pulled your keys back out of your pocket and resumed whistling. Time to go to work.

Monday, woop woop. Fun.
No, Mondays suck. Especially for someone like you, who doesn’t like to rise early. You nearly smashed you alarm clock to bits when hitting the off button this morning. You’re sure a turtle could’ve gotten ready for school faster than you did as well. How the hell aren’t you running late? You were currently on your way to school, driving through town with a thermos of coffee in hand. Taking a sip, you let the hot, black fluid run down your throat. Smacking your lips and giving a satisfied “ah”, you grew one baby step closer to being something close to being awake. You turned the radio up a bit, that ought to do the trick. Maybe some early heavy metal will shake your brain to life. Aw what the hell, of course it will.
Tapping your steering wheel and lightly head banging, you continued to drive down the streets of Canterlot. Stopping at a red light, you took another sip of your coffee. Your Nonny senses kicked in and you felt as if you were being watched. Looking to your left you found your observer. It was that Twilight chick from your first period, watching you carry out your morning transportation routine. You locked eyes with her, getting a blush from her and looking forward, avoiding your gaze.
You chuckled. “Weirdo.”
The light turned green and you hit the gas, continuing your drive to school.
You got to your first period and as usual, you saw Twilight at the table the two of you shared. The first day of school was the only day you had arrived earlier than she did. That still surprises you to this day. You may only have her in one class, but a nerd like her should never get beaten to class by someone like you. Shit, by anyone really. Unless there’s a secret race of super nerds you don’t know about.
You threw your bag on the ground next to your chair and took a seat. You took a few moments to sit on your phone before the bell rang. When it did, your teacher stood up from his desk and began the lesson.
“Goodmorning class!” He said enthusiastically.
You remained silent as the class gave a bland “goodmorning” back, save for Twilight who was pretty energetic.
“I am happy to announce that today will be your first class project!” He said, pointing to the board. He then went on to explain what your assignment was, a physical model of any chemical reaction.
“Sounds simple enough.” You thought.
“However, I’d like the class to go outside of the box.” Your teacher said. “It cannot be baking soda and vinegar, it’s too common.”
Fuck.
“And, the model must have some creativity to it, as well as a piece of paper, trifold, or something of that sort explaining what happened during the reaction. You will be partnered up with the person next to you. This will be due one week from now. You may get to work.”
Phew. Why phew? Because Twilight is your partner, duh! This should be an easy grade.
The classroom started to fill with the sound of chatter, signaling that it was time to work. You turned to Twilight, who was already typing on her laptop.
“What do you have in mind?” You asked.
“Well I was thinking we could take some sodium and put it in water!” Replied Twilight.
“Like salt?”
“No, silly. That’s sodium chloride. Sodium by itself is a metal, which can react with water in its pure form when it comes into contact.”
“Which does what?” You asked.
“It creates a flame, it’s quite spectacular actually.”
“Fun. How’s it gonna look creative?”
“Still figuring that out, I’m thinking maybe dropping a ball of sodium into a model volcano, making it literally erupt into flames!”
“Huh. That could work.”
“We clearly don’t have the materials for this here, so how about you meet me at my place after school so we can work on it? I’ll buy everything we need.”
“I have practice after school, but sure. I’ll be there. Where do you live?”
“Here,” Twilight said, grabbing your hand. She wrote her number on your palm.
“I asked for your address, not your number.” You said flatly.
“I know, but it’s always nice to be able to communicate when we aren’t in each other’s presence. Besides, I can just text it to you!”
“Fair enough.” You said with a shrug. “Okay, nerd, show me the game plan you have in mind.”
“W-what?” Twilight asked, looking a bit shocked.
“Relax, I’m messing with you.” You said with a smile. “Being smart is a good thing, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”
Twilight smiled back. There was a silence between the two of you for a moment. You happened to not like that very much.
“Hey, let’s not waste time, let’s get a blueprint going or something.” You said, breaking the silence.
“Oh, right!” Said Twilight, whipping out a sketchbook. “Well, here’s how I was thinking we could go about it.”

The rest of your day went as usual. Sitting in the back of classes not talking, eating lunch in the car, Flash and his goons being pissed at you for taking Flash’s spot at fullback. The usual. You stepped out of the school, hair still damp from your shower. You shivered slightly at the wind hitting you. Walking to your car, you remembered your project with Twilight. Fuck, you really needed a nap. You considered going home and just ditching for today, but you’d feel like a complete jackass if you did that. You’d be pissed if you had to do all the work for something by yourself, so you couldn’t do that to Twilight.
You got to your car and climbed inside, pulling out your phone to text Twilight. Thankfully you added her number earlier, because your palm no longer had it written on there.
Hey it’s Anon, I just got done with practice. Give me your address and I’ll make my way over there.
You barely set your phone down before you got a reply.
Hey, how’d it go? I’ll have everything ready by the time you get here!
You sighed upon reading when she asked how it went. Already texting you like she knew you.
“Get the dick out of your ass, she’s being nice.” Said the angel version of you on your shoulder.
“Can it, Angel Non!” Shouted the Devil Anon on your other shoulder. “He’s a badass, too cool for a nerd like her, she probably doesn’t understand a thing about football!”
“Do you have any idea how retarded you made me sound?” You asked Devil Non. “I’m a badass? Too cool for her?”
“Oh come on, I’m on your side here!” Cried Devil Non.
“Nah man, just for that, I’m gonna side with Angel Non on this one.”
“Ha!” Said Angel Non as he pointed a finger at his nemesis.
“Now both of you get the fuck outta here before I get pissed.” You said.
“Thanks for doing the right thing.” Said Angel Non as he disappeared.
“Fuck you, man.” Said Devil Non as he did the same.
You shook your head as you replied to the text.
It went great, thanks. Still need the address tho lmao

She sent an attachment with her address in it, which you put in your GPS. You started your car and pulled out of the school parking lot.
The drive only took you a few minutes, as for Twilight’s house wasn’t very far from the school. Rounding the block that led to her street, you took a look around the neighborhood. It was an upper middle class type of area, nice houses with pricey but not too pricey cars.
“Huh, nice place.” You said to yourself.
“You have arrived at your destination.” Said the GPS voice in your phone.
Looking to your right, you saw that you were outside of a purple house with hints of dark blue. How funny. Hell, even her car was purple. Some weak ass Fiat 500. You grabbed your bag from the passenger seat and stepped out of your car, shutting the door and locking it. You walked up the driveway towards the front door. Stepping up the porch steps and reaching the dark blue door, you gave it a knock.
“Coming!” You heard from the other side. After a few moments of waiting, you heard the sound of the door being unlocked. When it opened, you were greeted by the familiar face of a nerd you know. “Hi! Glad you could make it!”
“I’d feel like a douche if I let you do all the work, I know I’d be pissed if I had to.” You replied with a shrug.
“Oh, that’s okay. I wouldn’t mind, I enjoy working!”
“If you say so. You gonna let me in or what?”
“Oh, right! Please, come in.” Twilight stepped aside, letting you pass by. You took a look around you, taking in the sight of the nice interior. Shit, this is better than you’ve ever been in before. Glass chandelier from the ceiling, leather furniture, expensive tech, you name it. And that was only in the living room for fuck’s sake. There’s still more of this house you haven’t seen. You took off your boots and stepped onto the carpet.
“Looks like your parents are taking good care of ya.” You said with a chuckle.
“I live here by myself, actually.”
You’ve gotta be kidding.
“You’re joking, right?” You asked, turning around to face her.
“Well, I have a dog but that’s it.” Twilight giggled.
“Did you win the fuckin’ lottery or something?”
“Hehe, nope!”
“Give me your secrets, Einstein.”
“Ohhh, I’m afraid a magician never reveals her secrets!”
“Very funny.” You said with a chuckle. “Come on, I ain’t got all day. Let’s get to work.”
Twilight nodded, leading you upstairs. She took you to her bedroom, where you met her dog, Spike. He seemed like a chill little fucker, normally the smaller dogs will just sit and bark. Maybe even bite your ankles at the very most. But this dog, he just looked at you and went back to sleep. Can’t say you were complaining. Scattered across the floor were various materials, all for the project.
“Huh, it’s all here.” You said, looking over everything.
“Yeah, why wouldn’t it be?” Asked Twilight in confusion.
“I don’t think normal people have sodium laying around the house.” You said, picking up the shiny metal.
“Looks like I’m not normal then!”
“I see that.” You said, putting down the metal. “What’s the plan?”
“Well, all that needs to be done is make the model. I was thinking I could make the base and you could make the volcano.”
“Works for me.” You sat down on the floor, trying to think of a good start. There was paper mâché and sheets of newspaper, so you figured that would work. Twilight took a seat across from you. “Uh, are you sure it’s a good idea to have paper mâché all over your floor when it’s carpet?” You asked.
“Oh, here.” Twilight said, reaching behind her and grabbing a large tray. “Use this, thanks for mentioning it.”
The two of you began to go to work, you used cardboard and newspaper to make your volcano. It was relatively easy, but you can’t say you enjoyed the cold liquid covering your hands. It was nearly silent the entire time the two of you worked, which was also nice. That’s something you could say you enjoyed about her, she worked hard and stayed quiet in focus.
As you kept constructing your model, Twilight broke the silence.
“Hey, I’m sorry about this morning.” She said sheepishly.
“What do you mean?” You asked, not taking your eyes off the volcano.
“About staring at you at the traffic light. I know it was weird.”
“Oh, that. Yeah, I forgot about that already. No big deal.”
“Oh, that’s good. Thanks for not pestering me about it as well.”
“No prob.”
“I just thought it was kinda interesting to see you outside of school, like you were head banging to that awful music!” She said with a giggle.
“Okay hey hey hey, Metal is not awful!” You said with a chuckle. “It’s the best this for your ears on this planet. Besides, it’s a great way to wake up.”
“Hehe, if you say so. I kinda took you as the type that listens to rap like most people.”
“Why’s that?”
“Well, I don’t really know much about you. You aren’t exactly the most talkative person I know.”
“Sometimes actions are preferable over words. Not that I act much.”
“Any reason you think that way.”
“Are you a cop or something?” You asked with a laugh. “You’re asking a lot of questions.”
“What? No! I just... wanna get to know you better, that’s all.” Twilight said, beginning to blush.
“Okay okay, just making sure. I don’t have anyone that’s real close around here, I’m not very trusting.”
“Aw, why not? Everyone needs close friends.”
“Well, not exactly. I can get by just fine on my own.”
“What makes you say that?”
You felt a slight urge to tell her about your past, but you resisted it. You not knowing her well enough weighed out your small amount of comfort you had with Twilight. She was nice, but nerds tend to be snitches. She gave off a teacher’s pet vibe as well, so you held off on any beans spilling on who you were.
“Let’s just say I’ve been around. I know how to carry my weight.”
Twilight played with her fingers and looked at the floor, she was clearly thinking of something. You payed attention to her and worked on the volcano simultaneously. After a moment or two, she spoke up.
“Can you teach me to be like you?” She blurted out. That question caught you slightly off guard. Looks like you weren’t prepared for anything after all. You looked up at Twilight with a confused look.
“Huh?”
“I wanna know how to be as confident and mentally strong as you are. I’m not exactly the best when it comes to that, especially since I’m new around here.”
You paused for a moment. Was she really asking you this? It was kinda sad to hear someone your age ask such a stupid question. You pondered on the question for a moment. Do you really wanna help someone you barely know like that? Not to be narcissistic, but the world needs more people like you in it anyway.
“I don’t see why not.” You said, putting a wet piece of paper on the volcano mold.
“Really?!” Asked Twilight excitedly.
“That’s what I said.”
“Oh thank you thank you!” She reaches over to hug you, in which you held out your arms in defense.
“Whoa whoa, no touching.” You said.
“Oh, sorry.” Sorry said, backing away. Her cheeks began to heat up again.
“It’s chill, I’m just not very touchy. Trust issues.”
“You don’t trust me?”
“Well not to be rude or anything, but I don’t know you very well. It’s best not to trust anyone right off the bat for your own benefit. One act of generosity shouldn’t be enough to earn trust.”
Twilight reached into her backpack, pulling out a notebook and a pencil. She opened it and began to write, repeating what you had just said to her to herself. You laughed and gently pushed the notebook down, getting her attention.
“This isn’t something you can learn by studying, Twilight. It’s not school. It’s life. I should’ve mentioned that you can’t change who you are just like that. You have to experience things that make you like this. And quite frankly, most aren’t willing to do what I’ve done.”
Twilight thought to herself for a moment, looking at the floor.
“I suppose you’re right. Sorry for asking such a dumb question.”
“Hey kiddo, I get it. You wanna improve yourself. I respect that, I’m always trying to better myself in any way I can. It’s a good mindset to have. You’re pretty bright, brighter than most around here. That’ll get you far. And if you ask me, that’s all you’re gonna need at the moment.”
Twilight smiled.
“Thanks, I really appreciate it. It means a lot to me, you know.”
“Don’t mention it. Glad I could give you some words of wisdom.”
“You’re a great person, Anon. I’m glad I met you.”
Aw jeez. Emotions. You hate emotions.
“Say that again and I’ll cut your fuckin’ tongue out.” You said with a wink.
Twilight giggled.
“Let’s get back to work, I like to be early with this stuff so I have more free time.” You said, focusing on your volcano.
“Right! I didn’t mean to get off track.”
“Yeah, get with the program, nerd.”
Chapter Seven: Bitch
The bell of your fourth period rang, signaling that it was time to go to lunch. Lunch was most definitely your favorite time of day, it had food after all. It wasn’t anything gourmet, but it was much better than the food in the chow hall that you grew used to. Well, save for the commissary items that you could buy which weren’t half bad. Enough jail thoughts, time to go to lunch.
You left the classroom and made your way down the crowded halls, school sounds filling your ears. You walked passed people in their lockers, talking to friends, some even getting robbed of lunch money. Typical high school shit. Wasn’t your business, so you opted out of being a hero and sticking up for anyone that was being stolen from. You entered the cafeteria and waited in line, as usual. You grew tired of fast food pretty quickly, and the daily variety of school food outweighed the same shit different day type of menu that the places around here had. Looking up at the whiteboard posted up on the wall, you saw that today was grilled cheese and tomato soup. You salivated a bit at the thought of the soup running down your throat with the combined flavors of your sandwich. You were definitely eager to eat. You mindlessly moved forward slowly as you approached the food bar. Your mouth began to water more and more as the smell of food grew stronger.
Finally, it was your turn to get what you needed. You stepped in front of the food bar where an old lady greeted you.
“How are you today young man?” She asked with a smile.
“Good.” You replied, eyeing the tray as it was being set for you. The lady set the cheesy, greasy delicacy on your tray, sliding it down the food bar to another lunch lady. The second lady took a styrofoam cup, filling it up with the tomato soup. Big nut from Anon, folks. The tray was then passed to the final lady, who asked for your lunch money. You pulled out your wallet and gave her a few dollars, telling her to put the change on your account. You stuffed your wallet back into your pocket, reaching out for your tray.
“Excuse me,” said a voice next to you. Right then and there, a girl swiped the grilled cheese from your tray. As she went to turn around, you grabbed her by the wrist, holding her in place.
“Damn right excuse you, the fuck are you doing?” You said, making your irritation clear.
“Um, grabbing lunch. Isn’t it obvious?” She replied in a bitchy tone. You eyed her down, staring into her blue eyes with rage. It didn’t take much to piss you off in general, but stealing your food when you’re hungry really crosses a line.
“Give me my sandwich.” You demanded, holding out your hand.
She brought your grilled cheese to her mouth and took a bite. “Or what?”
Your blood boiled. You saw her fiery hair, resembling the sun with its deep red and yellow streaks. Quickly thinking, you thought that her hair needed a little more red. With your hand still locked around her wrist, you grabbed your hot tomato soup from your lunch tray. By the time the girl realized what you were gonna do, it was too late. You took the cup of soup and threw the steaming liquid in her face, covering her skin, hair, and clothes in a red, hot coat of tomato soup. You let go of her wrist and walked away, tossing the empty soup cup behind you. As you walked out of the cafeteria, the room suddenly erupted in an applause. You kept a straight face and your eyes forward, but you smiled on the inside. For once, you wanted everyone to see what you just did. Well done, Anon. Well done.
Leaving the cafeteria, it wasn’t long before you heard the loudspeakers call your name.
“Anon Mous, please report to the office immediately.” Said Celestia’s voice. You sighed, changing your course from the parking lot to the office. You suppose most good things must always come with a price. You stuffed your hands in the pockets of your jacket and trudged to the warden’s office.
You got to the main office, opening the door and stepping inside. You really wanted to blow through the doors, but you decided that was a bit much.
“Please have a seat and wait to be called in.” Said the Secretary. You ignored her, walking around her desk. “Excuse me, you need to take a seat and wait!” Said the Secretary, raising her voice slightly. You continued to ignore her. Walking passed her, you barged into Principal Celestia’s room without even knocking. Closing the door behind you, you glared at Celestia.
“What do you want?” You asked flatly. Celestia looked up at you, shock in her face.
“Did the secretary tell you to sit and wait?” She asked.
“Yeah, but I didn’t do that. Quite frankly I’m hungry and I’m not in the mood, so please tell me why I’m here.” You leaned forward, planting your hands on her desk. Celestia remained silent for a few moments before eventually clearing her throat.
“I’ve summoned you here because of the incident in the cafeteria a few moments ago.” Said Celestia calmly.
“Yeah, so what? Girl took the food that I paid for, I told her to give it back, she bit into it, so I returned the favor. I don’t really see the problem here.”
“Although she started it, I still don’t see that kind of response to her actions as necessary. That kind of behavior is unacceptable, Anon.”
You sighed. Was she really gonna do this right now?
“Well I don’t see the one who started this mess anywhere in here! Hell, I didn’t even hear a name besides mine called on the loudspeaker! What gives?”
“Anon, please calm down and worry about yourself. This meeting is about your offense, not hers.”
“You know, I could really call you out for targeting me here. I’ve seen at least three kids get robbed of their lunch money in the halls today. I’m sure you haven’t done jack shit about it, because I haven’t heard a single name called on the loudspeaker since then except for mine. So look, either you do your job and quit targeting me just because I’m an ex-con, or this is really gonna escalate. Are we clear?” You were now nearly in Celestia’s face, but you didn’t realize it as for you were blinded by rage.
The office was silent for a few moments, as you could see Celestia was once again in shock. After she thought for a moment, she broke the silence and spoke up.
“I apologize for the misunderstanding, Anon. You may go about your day. However, I do encourage you to make better decisions with how you respond to certain situations.”
“Whatever.” You said as your turned around and left Celestia’s office. You quickly left the main office and returned to the hallways. Checking your phone, you saw that you only had fifteen minutes of lunch left. What a fucking waste of time. You turned towards the front doors and left the school, deciding that fast food was today’s only option. No way in hell you were gonna wait in line again for a meal, no matter how badly you wanted grilled cheese. There was a subway a few blocks away, that’ll have to do for now.

Canterlot High’s first football game was tomorrow. Not gonna lie, you were pretty hyped. You had only been playing for a little less than a week, but the sport grew on you quickly. It was also unexpected for you since you only joined the team to mess with Flash and his butt buddies, then just quit shortly after. But now, you wanted to play. You weren’t playing for Canterlot High, no. You were playing for yourself. You didn’t give a shit about this school in the slightest.
Practice was just primarily drill review for the game tomorrow. Nothing over the top, just light work to get the team mentally prepared, as coach was confident that we were more than physically capable of playing the game. You currently stood on one knee in a team huddle, listening to coach give a speech.
“Boys, you’ve impressed me over this last week.” He began, taking his hat off. “I’d like to thank you for giving it your all during practices and putting in the effort to learn the plays like the back of your hand. However, that’s only half of the job. As all of you know, our first real game is tomorrow. This is what you’ve been preparing for. This will be your time to shine. I know every single one of you has what it takes to kick ass out there tomorrow. Now with that being said, bring it in.”
Everyone including you stood up and brought there hands into the middle of the huddle.
“Win on three!” Shouted coach. “One, two, three,”
“WIN!” Shouted the team, you included. You were ready to shit on your opponents tomorrow. You turned towards the locker room, beginning your jog to the showers. Your helmet was off, and the late summer breeze felt like heaven against your sweat-soaked hair. Your eyes burned from the sweat seeping into them during practice, maybe you were in need of a headband or bandana. You wiped your brow with your arm as you reached the doors to the locker room. Opening the door, you got a taste of the refreshing AC from the school interior. You walked inside, making your way to your locker and getting ready for your shower. As you did so, more and more of the team began to enter the locker room.
“Hey Anon,” Flash said from behind you.
“What’s up?” You asked, grabbing your soap and towel.
“Don’t mess this up tomorrow. We’re all counting on you.”
“I don’t think you’re in the position not to tell me to mess up, but alright. I’ll hand their asses to them tomorrow.”
“Good to know. I’m still gonna get you back for taking my position, you hear?”
“You do that.”
You closed your locker and went to the showers, ready to wash the dirt and sweat off of your body. After your shower, it would be time to go to Twilight’s house and finish up the project the two of you had been working on. You quickly washed your body off and dried off, getting dressed afterwards. Throwing on your deodorant and cologne, you left the locker room and began making your way through the halls towards the main doors. Rounding a few corners and walking through some halls, you were finally greeted by the front doors of the school, waiting to be opened.
You practically busted through the front doors, leaving the school. It felt great being able to walk freely for the first time today, it’s a feeling that you can’t express your love for. You walked across the school yard and into the parking lot, making your way to your car. Upon spotting your car, your mood was instantly killed. Two chumps decided it’d be cool to post up on YOUR car, out of every car in this parking lot. That shit didn’t didn’t slide well with you.
You sped up a bit, walking with a purpose now. When you got into speaking range, you called out to them.
“Okay, you two had your fun. Now get the fuck off of my car.” You called out, still walking. The two looked up at you and quit leaning against your car. However, they didn’t dip. You got a better look at the two. They both looked fucking retarded, one being tall and skinny, the other being short and fat. Some duo. You got up to your car, looking the both of them in the eye. “You heard me, scram!” You shoved the two out of the way and opened the car door, tossing your bag into the front seat. You didn’t even get a chance to climb into your car before you heard a familiar flick. Are you fucking serious? You turned around and saw that the fat kid had pulled out a knife, a switchblade to be exact. You sighed in annoyance.
“You got a fuckin’ problem, chunky?” You asked. He growled in anger and took a step forward, but was stopped by string bean.
“We know about that little stunt you pulled with Sunset this morning, and quite frankly we aren’t very fond of your actions.” He said.
“She had it coming, skinny. Now if you think a fat kid with a knife is enough to scare me, you’re mistaken.”
He chuckled. “I’ll give you to the count of three to come out and fight us like a man.”
“I mean, my door isn’t shut. I’m not stopping you.”
“One...”
You grabbed the handle to your center console.
“Two...”
You opened it and smiled. “Hello, sweetheart.” You said with a smile.
“Three. Get him, Snips.”
You grabbed you weapon of choice by the handle and popped out of the car, pointing it right at lumpy’s head. He stopped head in his tracks, putting his hands up in front of him.
“Snails, he’s got a fucking gun dude!” Cried tubby.
Who you were assuming to be Snails laughed.
“Come on, Snips! There’s no way someone would carry a real gun on school grounds. Come on, he’s just bluffing. Don’t let the fake suppressor fool you. Cut him up.”
“Oh, how could I be so dumb!” He said to himself.
“Good question.” You said. “Come on, bub. I don’t have all day.”
He quickly charged at you, so you had to react fast. You cocked your arm back and swung it forward, hitting him straight in the mouth. Blood splattered on your hand and gun as he flew to the ground. He began screaming, holding his hands to his mouth.
You looked up at Snails and shrugged.
“Damn, the bigger they are the harder they fall, huh?”
“Oh, Christ.” He said, pulling out a switchblade of his own. “Now I’m gonna have to make you pay for two things. I didn’t want it to come to this, you know.”
“I’m not paying, sir.” You said.
“And a fake gun? Really? Come on.”
“It’s still capable of pistol whipping, fake or not.”
“Hm, should I throw the knife then?”
“Nah, it’ll hit my car. I wouldn’t like that very much.”
“What’s gonna stop me? Your air soft gun?” He chuckled.
You sighed. Okay, smartass. You rolled your eyes and pulled back the slide, letting one round pop out. Snails’ eyes widened.
“Yeah, my air soft gun.”
“Heh, cmon, you wouldn’t shoot in the school parking lot, would you?”
“Wanna find out?”
Snails smiled. “You see, I’ve got you beat. If you were hard enough to shoot you-“
The look on his face instantly changed, and the knife he clutched in his hand fell to the ground. He went from holding the knife to his shoulder. Falling on the ground, he screamed. Blood began to spill onto the concrete. You walked up to him and crouched down with a smile.
“I didn’t want it to come to this, you know.” You said, mocking him. He was whimpering, tears running down his face. You decided to be a little extra and be a little evil. His mouth was already open from his crying, so you took the barrel of your gun and shoved it into his mouth, making him cough. You pinned his good arm down so he couldn’t remove it. He began making muffled screams.
“Yeah, still hot, ain’t it?” You asked with a smile. After a few seconds, Snails eventually passed out from shock. You pulled the gun out of his mouth and walked over to Snips, who was still on the ground. He crawled backwards to avoid you, but you stomped your boot on his chest, holding him in place. You were sure you broke a few ribs based on the cracks you heard. He cried in pain, but you didn’t care.
“Get up and take your boyfriend home. And if I hear about this, I’ll kill the both of you. Got it?”
“Yes, yes!” He cried in pain.
“Good, now hustle before anyone sees the both of you. I mean it.” You took the boot off of his chest and he got up as quickly as he could, moving over to Snails. He picked him up by the shoulders and dragged him to a car a little further than yours down the parking lot. Opening the passenger door, he lifted him into it. He closed it and moved around the car, and hopped in. And with that, he quickly drove off. Looking around, you didn’t see that anyone was looking at you. Nonetheless, you still wanted to get out of there quickly. You picked up the knife that Snips dropped and the bullet you racked out and threw them into your car. You got back into your ride and put your gun back into the center console. You’ll clean it off later. Starting up your car, you saw the blood that coated your hands. Hopefully Twilight will let you in with little explanation. Cruising around to the blood that was left on the concrete, you did a small burnout to coat the area with rubber. Once you were done, you took off.
As you cruised to Twilight’s house, you thought for a moment. There wouldn’t be enough witness details if someone saw you to identify your identities, and based on the camera screens you saw while in Celestia’s office, they don’t cover the parking lot. You should be golden, assuming that you don’t get snitched on. You could claim it was self defense, but that wouldn’t clear up being underage or having the gun on school grounds. Whatever, they’d be in deep shit if they did. You’re fine. You smiled to yourself as you noticed that the adrenaline began to wear from your body. You turned up the radio and sped up, continuing your drive to Twilight’s house.
It’s good to be back.
Chapter Eight: Game On
You chose not to stop by Twilight’s house yesterday, you weren’t in the mood for it. You simply shot her a text and said you weren’t feeling well and you were gonna go home and rest. There was no way in hell you trusted her enough to tell her what really happened in the parking lot.
You sat alone with your thoughts in bed, chilling in your boxers and smoking a cigarette. It was currently six in the morning, you had woken up earlier than normal, even with how restless you were from the night prior. As you lay in your domain with your legs crossed, a thought hit you: it’s game day.
“Fuck,” You muttered to yourself, sitting up and leaning your back against your headboard. You shivered slightly upon the cold plywood touching your bare back.
You didn’t sleep a whole bunch so the thought of a football game in the afternoon slightly worried you. You cared about your performance, you were extremely competitive and wanted to win. Sighing, you took a moment to ponder with solutions to your potential problem. Zoning out and staring at your wall for five minutes got you nowhere. Throwing your legs over to the floor, you put your feet down and stood up, taking one last drag from your cancer stick before extinguishing it in the ashtray on your nightstand. You stretched with a yawn, letting your muscles loosen up from the tension developed over the little sleep you got. Looking around your room, you spotted a pair of shorts laying on your floor. You walked over to them, bend down and grabbed them clumsily. Grabbing the waistband, you lowered them and brought one leg up and brought it down into your shorts. You did the same with the other leg and pulled the waistband up, completing your morning fit. With another yawn, you walked to your bedroom door, opening it and walking out to the kitchen. Your Uncle Shaw was already awake, sitting in his recliner and watching the morning news. He had heard your footsteps, as he turned around to face you. A smile appeared on his face and he nodded to you.
“Morning.” He said, turning back to the TV. “You look like hammered shit.”
“You’re one to talk.” You said, opening the fridge to find something to rid you of your cottonmouth.
“I can tell you didn’t sleep.” Said Shaw, still focused on the news. “Never good, especially for you with that game today.”
“I’ll tough it out.” You said, moving the refrigerator’s contents around in search of some juice.
“Yeah, we’ll see.” Huffed Shaw. “Want my advice? Drink Redbull. Shit works like a champ.”
Redbull huh? Alright. You were never one for energy drinks, but if your uncle recommended it then it had to be the good shit.
“Noted.” You said, finding a juice box in the back of the fridge. You reached in and pulled it out, closing the fridge and turning back towards your room.
On your way to school, you stopped by a gas station and picked up six Redbulls. That should be enough, right? You’ve never really bothered with energy drinks before so you had no idea what to expect. Pulling into the school parking lot, you parked your car in your usual spot. Turning your car off with a sigh, you leaned back into your seat. You stared at the gray morning sky for a moment, slightly zoned out. You then remembered the Redbulls sitting in your passenger seat, ready to be consumed. Reaching over to the front seat, you reached into the plastic bag from the gas station and grabbed yourself a drink. Cracking it open, you brought the cold can to your mouth and took a couple chugs. Bringing it down from your lips, you scrunched your face in disgust. The shit tasted like nuclear horse piss. Not that you’ve tasted it before, that is. Staring at the can in your hands, you thought to yourself for a moment. As much as you didn’t like the taste, you really needed to be awake today. So fuck it. You were gonna be a man and drink this shit. You brought the can back to your lips and chugged the rest of the foul-tasting liquid down. When you finished, you pulled the can away from your mouth and let out a disgusted “Ehhhhh”. Crushing the can and throwing it out the window, you opened your car door and stepped out.
“Let’s get it.” You said to yourself as your began your walk across the parking lot.

You can’t stop tapping your foot. It’s been a few hours and the amount of energy you have is unreal. Shaw was right, Redbull does give you wings. Throughout the school day, you were oddly attentive to everything your teachers said. Hell, you even finished all your work in class. You made a mental note to watch your intake so you don’t get addicted and die of a fucking stroke. You shook the thoughts from your head and continued to listen to coach’s lecture before the game started. Everyone including you were already stretched and warmed up, in football pads and ready to go. You didn’t really care for what he was saying, you just wanted to go out and play some damn football.
“And with that being said, let’s go kill em!” Coach said, wrapping up his lecture. “Huddle up everyone, arms in and Canterlot on three!”
You and the team stood up and brought it in, giving a “One, two, three, Canterlot!” Before jogging out to the football field. You threw on your helmet and turned for the door, but coach grabbed your shoulder and held you back.
“What’s up?” You asked.
“You better bring your A-game out there.” He said with a smile.
“I should smack you for saying that.” You said flatly.
“Atta boy!” He said with a hearty laugh. “Go get em!”
With a nod, you turned back to the locker room door and jogged on out. Upon leaving the locker room, you heard the loud roar of the crowd in the bleachers, ready for the first game of the season. Your team was standing by the field entrance, waiting for you to join him.
“Hey, hurry up man!” Called out your QB. You find it funny that you still don’t even know his name. “We got ass to kick!”
“Don’t gotta sugarcoat it like that.” You said with a smile. “Cmon, let’s get this shit.”
He nodded and lead you and the team out onto the field. And the crowd goes wild, with their roars increasing significantly in volume upon seeing their team about to play the first game of the season. You looked up at the bleachers and smiled to yourself. It’s a new feeling. A good one.
The quarterback jogged to the middle of the field while you and the rest of the team went to the sidelines to wait for the coin toss.
Sitting on the sidelines, you felt a hand tap your shoulder. Turning around, you saw it was Flash.
“Hey, you know what to do out there?” He asked.
“Yep.” You say, turning back out to the field.
“Alright, just checking.”
“I’m starting for a reason, Flash. I’ve got it in the bag.”
He remained silent. As he should be. You watched the referee flip the coin, then look at the visitor’s quarterback. Damn, they won. Your quarterback and theirs gave a nod to the ref, then turned around to return to their sideline. As you watched him jog back to you, you were nearly shaking with anticipation. God, you wanted to play. When your Q neared the sidelines, he called out to you and the team.
“They’re receiving! Return team, get out there!”
You weren’t on the return lineup, so you stayed back as the designated squad made their way out to the field. The referee has set up the ball already, leaving the team to get into their positions for the play. With the kicker in position, he glanced over to the ref and gave a nod, signaling that he was ready to go. The ref returned the nod, reaching up to the whistle around his neck. And just like that, he brought it to his lips and gave it a blow.
Game on.
The kicker raised his arm in the air, showing the team that he was gonna kick. He ran forward, making contact with the ball and sending it downfield. It soared through the air, and you watched it like a hawk. As it came down, you saw the receiver in your peripherals, arms out and ready to catch. When the ball landed in his arms, he decided to knee it. Pussy. The referee blew his whistle, ending the play.
“Alright defense, let’s go!” Called out coach. When’d he come out here? Whatever, that was your queue to head out to the field.
You threw your mouth guard on and jogged onto the field with the rest of the defensive team. You were nose guard, so you took your spot right in the middle of the line. Getting down on your knees, you watched the offensive huddle and waited for them to finish.
“Give em hell, you hear?” Said Bulk from behind you.
“Dude, relax.” You said, turning back to him. “Literally no worries here.”
He opened his mouth to reply, but was cut off by the “ready, break!” From the offense. Bulk backed up to his position. You immediately noticed the center as he jogged up to the line of scrimmage. He was a big guy, and you don’t mean buff. This guy looked like a human dough boy. When he reached the line, you got off your knees and got into your stance. When he got down into his, he looked at you and chuckled confidently.
“You find a piece of candy in your pocket?” You said, slightly muffled by your mouth guard.
The center stopped laughing, but instead gave you a death glare.
‘Yeah, get mad.” You thought. ‘Makes it all the more enjoyable for me.’
“Red!”
You smirked at big boy, who looked ready to kill.
“Set!”
“Bring it, dough boy.” You said. He replied by huffing through his nose.
“Go!”
The ball was snapped, and you and chunky cheese rose in unison, ready to attack. He however, had no idea as to what you were going for. With his arms out, he came at you with full force. In one swift motion, you gave him a little swim move (yes, swim move), throwing your arm out and making a swimming-like motion with it to throw him out of the way. And of course, it worked. You easily managed to throw him out of your way, giving you a full view of the wide-open QB. Without hesitation, you made a B-line to him, who seemed unaware of your presence, as for he was looking for an open receiver. You charged at him, and by the time he noticed you, it was too late. You got low and wrapped your arms around his waist, picking him up for a brief moment before bringing the both of you to the ground. Something was off, though. Yeah, the quarterback was down, but the whistle didn’t go off. You heard the crowd grow louder. You felt the vibration of feet running passed you in the opposite direction than the ball was being played. That could only mean-
You quickly got up from the ground and looked up, only to see your defensive end running the ball down the field. No fucking way. First play of the game and you got a sack, leading to a fumble, which got turned over. You stood there and watched as the ball carrier ran the ball down the field, all the way to the end zone for a touchdown. Good fucking lord.
The ref blew his whistle and raised his arms, confirming the score. The crowd was nearly deafening at this point. You heard an angry “Fuck!” From the QB standing next to you, which made you smile. You turned and jogged your way back to the sidelines, and was immediately greeted with slaps to the helmet and good words. Man, you were a fucking machine. First play of the game, baby. You felt like a better version of Rudy. Coach nearly leapt onto you and clung to your body when he saw you.
“ANON YOU BEAUTIFUL SON OF A BITCH!” He called out with happy laughter.
“Relax coach, before you ejaculate all over me.” You said with a smirk, getting a laugh out of the team. He punched you in the chest plate and congratulated you, saying basic happy coach shit. Again, you smiled. Feelsgoodman.
*Twilight POV*
You screamed with joy as you saw Anon sack the quarterback, causing the ball to fumble and get picked up by your team. The crowd followed you, as they too began to roar with excitement. The screams continued, even after the touchdown was made.
“Yo, who the hell is that?!” Asked Rainbow Dash, who was sitting beside you.
“Which one?” You asked.
“The one who got the sack, who else could I be talking about?”
“Oh, that’s my friend Anon!” You replied happily.
“Who?” Replied RD with a confused look. AJ on the other hand, smiled.
“Ya know, I’d expect nothing less outta Anon.” She said with her Southern draw. You were surprised, Anon liked to lay low so you wouldn’t expect him to try and talk to anyone.
“How do you know him, AJ?” You asked.
“He works for me on the Acres, real hard worker n’ quite a character if I do say so myself.”
She got the character part right.
“How come I’ve never heard of a fellow athlete that can play like that?!” Exclaimed Rainbow. “I know like everyone on the team!”
“I don’t believe I’ve heard of him either.” Said Rarity. Fluttershy and Pinkie agreed.
“Oh, you girls totally have to meet him after the game! He’s really great!” You said with enthusiasm. “He can be difficult at times and a little stubborn, but he’s overall a great friend!”
“I agree. I ain’t known him for very long and I already consider him a good friend.” Said Applejack.
“Well if you girls approve, I’d definitely like to meet this Anon.” Said Rarity with a smile.
“Can we throw him a party? Bake him a cake?!” Asked Pinkie.
“I don’t know if he’s all for the attention, Pinkie.” Said AJ. “I don’t even know if he could handle yer energy.”
“Trust me, he’ll love it!”
“Does he like animals?” Asked Fluttershy.
“Maybe?” You shrugged. “I haven’t really asked him.”
“I can’t wait to find out!” Said Fluttershy softly.
You smiled with happiness. You couldn’t wait to introduce your friends to Anon. He may not be the most social or charismatic guy on the planet, but you were convinced that he would warm up to you and your friends with enough time. Besides, you figured Anon could use some more friendly faces to interact with. You were snapped out of your thoughts by Rainbow Dash shouting.
“Holy shit!” She shouted. She turned to you and shook you by the shoulders. “Your friend just slammed that guy and gained like twenty yards!”
*Anon POV*
And that’s that, last play of the game finished. You took a knee in the end zone, having finished the final touchdown of your first game. With only three seconds left on the clock, you knew it was safe to relax. Besides, even if the visiting team managed to score in those three seconds, it’d be for nothing. You had already embarrassed them enough with the one hundred and forty seven to nothing score. What a fucking beat down. As your team ran up to you from down the field, you got off your knee and stood up, holding your arms out and nodding.
“Yeah, yeah?” You called out. “Y’all like that shit?!” You were met with rough hugs and slaps to the helmet and shoulder pads. Looks like you were the star of the game. You laughed and gave play punches and high fives to your team to join their celebration. You and the team’s hype was cut down a notch by coach joining in.
“Holy fuckin shit!” Cried coach, jumping in excitement. “That is the most intense beat down Canterlot High has ever given! Anon, you beautiful bastard, I fuckin love you!”
“It’s a team effort, coach.” You said, taking off your helmet. “Someone has to block the line, and someone else has to throw me a pass. Couldn’t have done it myself.”
That was probably the most humble shit you had said in years.
Coach smiled and gave you a pat on the shoulder pads.
“Alright, son.” He said. “You played perfectly today. Go home and get some rest. That goes for all of you!” He said to the rest of the team. You all gave a “yes, sir!” In unison and began jogging back to the locker room. You followed you team across the field, feeling slightly tired as your adrenaline began to wear off. Throwing on your helmet, you figured the pressure on your head would keep you up long enough to get out of the school. Thankfully, you had one last Redbull sitting in your backpack. You even began calling it “the water of the gods” halfway through the day when you really began feeling the effect. You chuckled to yourself with the thought of today.
As you ran through the fence gate to the locker room, you were stopped by someone calling out to you. Looking over to your right, you saw Twilight, Applejack and four others leaning against the fence surrounding the bleachers. Those two were friends? No way.
“Anon!” Called out Twilight. She and AJ were beckoning you to come over to the fence and greet them. You had already glanced at them, so you couldn’t act like you didn’t hear them. Damn you, Anon. Oh well, at least AJ was there. With an exhausted sigh, you turned and jogged over to the fence. The floor to the bleachers was elevated above the ground, so you had to look up slightly to talk to them.
“Yeah?” You asked.
“Yeah? What do you mean yeah?!” Asked the Blue skinned girl. “Dude, you fuckin kick ass!”
“So I’ve been told.” You said.
“I’m Rainbow Dash, the fastest and coolest S.O.B. you’ll ever meet!” She said smugly, pointing her thumb to her.
You opened your mouth to reply, but was cut off by the voice of Satan herself.
“HIMYNAMEISPINKIEPIEBUTYOUCANCALLMEPINKIEYOUPLAYEDSOGOODOUTTHEREDOYOULIKECAKEIHOPEYOULIKECAKEOHANDPARTIESTOOBECAUSEIMGONNATHROWYOUAPARTYFORBEINGSOGOODATFOOTBALLANDWE’REGONNABEBESTIES!”
Oh no. You knew only one bitch that was that energetic and annoying: the donut girl. You shivered now knowing she goes to your school, even more due to the fact that she was friends with your most acquainted peoples here at CHS. AJ must’ve noticed your silence, because she spoke up, knocking you out of your panicked thoughts.
“Don’t mind her, partner.” She Said with a laugh. “She can be a lot at first, but you’ll warm up to her.”
Yeah right.
“Good evening, darling!” Said a rather posh voice. You looked up at the girl standing on the far right, who was wearing an outfit that probably cost more than your car. “I must say, you played very well out there, Canterot has been needing a hero on the football team for quite some time. Glad to be of your acquaintance, dear.”
This chick talked to you like she was your fucking grandma. You tried not to laugh.
“Cmon, Fluttershy, speak up!” Said Rainbow Dash, nudging the yellow girl’s shoulder. Damn, first the pink crackhead and now Shy Shelly the animal shelter girl? Twilight and AJ appeared to have poor taste. Well, aside from Rainbow Dash. Someone with her vulgarity in words and ego seemed like someone you could get along with.
“D-do you like a-animals?” Asked Shy Sally, A.K.A. Fluttershy. What kind of a fucking question was that.
“Sure?” You said, raising an eyebrow. “Odd question, but I guess I do.”
She looked down at the floor shyly and played with her thumbs. Alright then.
“Anon, will ya take off the darn helmet?” Said AJ. “Show some respect when we’re talkin’ to ya!”
You reached up and grabbed the sides of your helmet, lifting it off your head. You shivered a bit when the cool night wind hit your sweat soaked hair. “I don’t see how it’s disrespectful, but alright, mom.” You said sarcastically.
Pinkie’s face lit up when she saw yours. Oh no.
“OHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!” She exclaimed, hopping up and down. “IKNOWHIM!”
“Unfortunately.” You added.
“HECOMESBYSUGARCUBECORNERALLTHETIME!”
“You’re pretty ugly for an all-star jock.” Added Rainbow Dash with a smirk.
“Blow me.” You said, returning the smile. She laughed and flipped you off. She’s definitely cool by your standards.
“Rainbow!” Said Rarity, punching her arm. “I apologize, Mister Anon. I’ll have you know she’s only joking, you’re a very handsome man if I do say so myself.” She said with a blush.
Jeez, the queen of fucking England was hitting on you already.
“Why thank you, m’lady.” You said, mocking her accent. She didn’t seem to get that you were being sarcastic, because she giggled and blushed even harder. Anon, you’re fucking retarded.
Fluttershy remained silent, and you were fine with that.
“Nice meeting you all, but I’m gonna split.” You said, pointing a thumb over your shoulder. “I’m exhausted and I gotta get home. If I stay any longer I’ll fall asleep while driving home.”
“Fair enough, I’ll see ya at the acres tomorrow?” Said AJ.
“For sure.” You smiled.
You said your goodbyes and headed back to the locker room to get showered up, changed, and head home.

You entered your front door, nearly collapsing from exhaustion.
“Hey there, buddy!” Said Shaw from his recliner. He raised his beer bottle to you. “You tore their asses open like wrapping paper on Christmas morning!”
You laughed tiredly. Never heard that one before.
“I take it you watched the game?” You asked, walking into the living room and collapsing onto the sofa.
“Of course I did!” Exclaimed your uncle. “Wouldn’t miss it for the world. I’d give you a beer, but you seem a lil out of it. I take it the Redbulls worked?”
“Like a champ.” You said, muffled as your face was buried in a pillow.
“I was gonna come over and talk to you, but you looked busy with all your girlfriends.” He said with a laugh, taking a sip from his beer.
“Please,” you said, raising your head from the pillow. “All but two are more of an inconvenience to me. I know one because she gave me a job on her ranch. The other I just worked on a project with. The rest don’t really mean anything to me.”
“Heh heh, whatever you say kiddo. Why don’t you hit the sack? You need the rest.”
You sat up, getting up from the sofa and heading to your room. “Gladly.”
