A little one-shot for my readers. I hope you all enjoy. BTW Sunset remained in Equestria.
The Only Chapter
Rainbow Dash walked over to her friend, Applejack, as AJ had asked her to meet up after school. "Hi AJ. What's up?" She asked curiously.
"Ah was just wondering if you'd do me a favor?" Applejack asked.
"Of course! Just tell me what you need." Rainbow said eagerly.
"Ah was hoping you and the softball team could make an appearance at mah bake sale. Y'know, if ya aren't too busy." She asked hopefully.
"Of course! When is it?" Rainbow responded quickly.
"It's Tuesday June tenth from eleven ta three." AJ said "Yer sure ya can make it?"
"I'm sure!" Rainbow said.
"Thank ya kindly. I'll spread the word." AJ said as she ran off.
It was June tenth, nine am when Bow Hothoof burst into his daughter's room shouting, "Rainbow! It's time to wake up. We've gotta go!"
Rainbow shot up out of her bed and said, "I've gotta shower! Thanks for waking me up Dad."
"Of course sweetheart." He said with a look of tenderness.
Rainbow ran to the shower and took a quick one. She then dried and brushed her hair. She threw on her softball uniform and ran downstairs for a quick breakfast. "Morning Mom." She said, picking up her toast.
"Morning Rainy. Why are you wearing your softball uniform to set up for the silent auction?" Windy Whistles asked her daughter.
"I'm... What?!" Rainbow shouted. "What silent auction? I'm supposed to make an appearance at AJ's bake sale."
"Didn't you text her Bow?" Windy asked her husband of 24 years.
"I thought you did Windy." He replied.
"Oh dear. Sorry Rainy, but I volunteered us to help set up the silent auction across town from twelve to two. And you know it takes an hour to get there. We just don't have the time to take you there." Windy said regretfully. "Would you go get changed and apologize to Applejack?" She asked.
"Ok Mom. I'll go." Rainbow said reluctantly.
"Thanks dearie." Bow shouted up to her.
Rainbow quickly changed into a purple T-shirt, blue athletic pants, and green tennis shoes. She pulled her prismatic hair into a high ponytail with a yellow scrunchy. Then she picked up her phone and dialed her second in command, Gilda.
"Hi Dash. What's up." She heard Gilda say.
"I have to go help set up a silent auction and I was wondering if you'd round up the rest of the softball team and head over to AJ's bake sale?" Rainbow asked.
"'Course Dash. I'll go pick them up." Gilda said casually.
"Thanks Gilda, I owe you one." Rainbow said right before she hung up. She heard her mom call that they had to leave and ran out the door.
Gilda looked at her phone as the call ended and a devious grin crossed her face. She would go pick up the others, but she wouldn't take them to the bake sale. She'd get some training in instead.
Rainbow sat in the backseat of her parents car and stared out the window as she waited for their arrival.
"I'm sorry you couldn't go to your friend's bake sale." Bow said.
"It's fine. I'll tell her afterwards." Rainbow said, trying to hide her disappointment.
"You mean you didn't text or call her?" Windy asked.
"No, I called Gilda to ask her to take the team to the bake sale. I didn't have time to call AJ. And I don't have service for some reason." Rainbow explained.
"Ok. We're here." Bow said, opening Rainbow's car door.
"Thanks Dad. I'll go see how I can help." Rainbow said, darting inside through the door.
As Rainbow ran inside, she muted her phone since it was a silent auction. As she put it away she looked over and saw some of her other friends, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. "Hi Pinkie. Hi Flutters." She called.
"Hi Rainbow!" Pinkie yelled excitedly.
"Pinkie, let's be quiet. It is a silent auction after all." Fluttershy gently scolded her easily excitable friend.
"Aww. Ok." Pinkie said sadly. "Hi Dashie."
"Pinkie, you are a card." Rainbow said with a laugh.
"No I'm not. I'm a Party Planner." Pinkie said with a smile.
Rainbow shook her head and asked Fluttershy, "So, what do you need me to do?"
"Oh! I was hoping you could help set up the chairs? If you don't mind of course." Fluttershy added fearfully.
Rainbow shook her head again. Fluttershy was so timid. "I don't mind. I'll go do that. See you later." She called as she ran off.
It was two twenty when they were finished and Windy, Bow and Rainbow hopped back into the car when Rainbow felt her phone vibrate. She pulled it out and found that she had a text from AJ. She opened it, expecting a thank you and a where were you, but what she got was this.
"I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'D DO THIS TO ME YOU LITTLE @&#!=! I TRUSTED YOU AND YOU STABBED ME IN THE BACK! I WILL NEVER TRUST YOU AGAIN! DON'T TALK TO ME AGAIN!"
Rainbow looked up, shocked. Why would Applejack send her such a mean text? She wondered. She figured that she'd go over to AJ's house later and ask what's up.
Rainbow stood on the Apple Family's doorstep, her hand poised to knock when Applejack's younger sister, Apple Bloom, opened the door. "Mah sister says she don't want nothin' ta do with you." She said curtly.
"Wait!" Rainbow said while pushing her foot in the door. "Can I talk to her really quickly? I need to ask her something."
"Ah'll check." AB said, nudging Rainbow's foot out of the way and closing the door.
Rainbow waited impatiently for AJ to answer the door. When it opened again it was Applejack, however if looks could kill, Rainbow would be a pile of ashes. "What do you want?" AJ asked snidely.
"Um, what's with the text?" Rainbow responded.
"As if you don't know. You know dang well why Ah sent that text. Now get off mah property before Ah call the police on ya fer trespassing."
"Tresspassing?" Rainbow asked, hoping she had misheard her friend.
"Heck yeah. Yer're here without a invitation. Now get off!" AJ yelled.
Rainbow took the hint and ran away. As soon as she was home in her room she stared at the wall, wondering what had gone wrong.
