It's a shame that I don't proof-read any of my things. I might get more followers if I do. Oh well. Oh yeah, the story is told in Rainbow Dashes perspective. Oh yeah, I said I'd do this. It was a bright day in Ponyville...well for me at least. It was storming beneath me as I flew above the clouds. I just wish that the weather would get better so I can practice my new trick. I wonder if Fluttershy is doing anything interesting. She was probably making sure all of her animals were safe from the rain and thunder. Only one way to find out. I instantly went into a nosedive and dashed my way through the clouds. I hit light within a few seconds. I shook myself to get my mane a little bit drier. I had chosen a good time to get through the clouds. Fluttershy's cottage was only a small ways away. I flew down to the ground and landed next to Fluttershy's door. I knocked on the wooden frame.
"Fluttershy, you there?" I said. I kept knocking for a couple of minutes. Was she asleep? It was only 7:00 in the afternoon.
"I'm coming!" I hear a voice say inside. Fluttershy's of course. The door opened in front of me and I saw my best friend in the doorway.
Hey Fluttershy, what's up?" I asked her as I let myself in.
"Oh um, hello there Rainbow...I'm fine, how are you?" She asked me back.
"I was flying when I got bored. So I thought I'd say hi. I'm surprised that-" I responded. I trailed off when I noticed some ad on the back of the paper Fluttershy reads. The picture showed the Wonderbolts on it. I went over to it and began reading aloud. "Wonderbolts back up flyer wanted. Try outs being held in Canterlot stadium..." I let the idea sink in.
"Oh, um, I meant to show that to you Rainbow but I can't fly to well. Especially if there's a storm outside."
"Fluttershy, I have to try this! Being the back up flyer to the Wonderbolts could guarantee me a permanent place in them!" I said loudly. In my head an idea was forming though. What better way to get noticed than happen after a bad flyer. I could have Fluttershy fly before me and I'll seem better by comparison! "Fluttershy, you could try this to!" I said to her.
"Oh no Rainbow, I couldn't! I'm not a flyer like you." She said.
"Come on Fluttershy! You can't just stay home all the time! I really do think that you can do this." I told her. Okay, so I was using my best friend to help me win a flying competition...what could go wrong?
"Rainbow, I um, don't think I have a chance at winning. There's just no way I could out fly you. I-" I cut her off there.
"Come on Fluttershy! I really want you to enter. You can do it! For me at least." I battered against her. Come on...If this works I actually have an opportunity to be in the Wonderbolts. "Please Fluttershy. I really would feel happier if you accepted."
She was clearly deciding her answer. On one hand, she knew that she wasn't gonna make it. On the other, it would make me happy. She gave off what sounded like a sigh and said "Alright Rainbow Dash. I'll try it." She told me. Yes! That's make it easier! It isn't taking advantage of her...right? Of course it isn't. What am I thinking?
"Really?" I asked enthusiastically.
"Yes." She told me.
"Thanks Fluttershy! Well, I should be getting home now! I've gotta practice my tricks!" I say quickly. Perfect! With Fluttershy's bad act my own will look even better! Nothing could go wrong!

The Next Day

The competition was this afternoon. I had finally nailed my trick a few hours before the try outs. Now I had to go check on Fluttershy. I can't believe my plan is working! There was no way I couldn't get into the Wonderbolts now! I quickly jumped into the air and took flight. Within a few minutes I had made it to Fluttershy's. I still can't believe how easy it was to convince her. I opened her door.
"Hey Shy, are you here? The competition is in a few hours!" I looked to the couch and saw the outline of a Pegasus under a blanket. "Come on Shy. You promised me you'd go." I told her as I pulled off the blanket. Under it was Fluttershy trembling.
"Oh Rainbow Dash...I don't want to do this." She told me. She did look scared, but a promise was a promise and a plan is a plan.
"You promised me that you'd participate in the contest!" I knew this would happen.
