Author's Note
This chapter is primarily focusing on the types of changelings that exist in the Hive. We will also be updating this chapter periodically to add new types that I or commenters suggest.
Their will also be a blog on my main page with details about our main character and our oc's.
Also don't forget to comment on the current choices, all comments are taken into consideration unless they fall into the realm of ridiculous. Meaning suddenly having a changeling grow to kaiju size and fart Canterlot into non-existence.

Changeling Drones
This refers to all non royal or elite changelings, similar to how Celestia refers to everypony as my little pony so to do elite's and royal's refer to changelings as my little drone, or just my drone. Despite this their are still ranks of changelings in here that still retain a form of rank, and are generally divided into two main sub-classes.
Changeling Shifters
These are changeling who early on show an aptitude for either physical work, transformation, or a combination of the two. Capable Shifters can transform into more complex creatures and maintain these transformations longer.
Diggers
These are Changelings who are assigned to excavation and cartography of tunnel systems created, discovered, or used by the Hive. Their Numbers have been low due to the ever shifting nature of the Hive, but a few are always taught as a precaution.
Infiltrators
Smaller than average these changelings are mostly used to sneak into secure areas do to being able to take smaller forms easier to collect important information, collecting love from Collectors, and capturing targets given to them by the Royals. Their ability to use small forms easier is also used well for surveillance purposes.
Collectors
Considered the most vital job in the Hive, Collectors are tasked with disguising themselves and integrating into pony society. From their they are to collect love from any and all available sources to be stored and retrieved by other lings at a later time.This results with them spending a large portion of their lives from the Hive, their only contact being the Royals, whoever they allow to connect to the link once established, and whoever comes to gather their stored up love.
Changeling Mystics
Despite the name Mystics are not just changelings with an affinity towards magic, their are also lings who have a special link to the Hive Mind, and Changelings of exceptionally impressive intelligence.
Librarian
Changelings who have a connection to the Hive Minds Memory almost as impressive as the Royals. They don't leave the Hive unless ordered to do so generally staying to search and distribute pieces of knowledge to other changelings when necessary. They also function as the educators of the Hive.
Communicators
Changelings who are able to communicate to multiple changelings through a link, and at a farther range. While the Royals are still stronger in terms of range and numbers the Communicators work best by setting themselves up in areas near the end of the Royals range, then reaching out to other Communicators until the Drone in question is found.
Conditioners
Talented with the manipulation of the mind, these Changelings work on enthralling the minds of ponies and other species. While this seems like a good way to gather love, they are usually used to erase memories of any who stumble across the Hive (and had no one who would come looking for them) or an undisguised changeling. If however someone found the Hive and had no connections, or on the occasion Collectors find an orphan not in the system, they are immediately cocooned and brought to the Hive were the Conditioners are tasked to keep them in a dreamescape that allowed for a large amount of love to be produced. Sadly this is currently no longer do-able with the return of Princess Luna do to risk of detection.
Healers
Though most changelings can be taught the basics in first aid, Healers are especially talented in fixing almost any injury that occurs within the Hive, only unable to heal something akin to the lose of limbs and organs if they didn't still have it or a tissue sample to work from. They were also tasked with maintaining the health of ponies that were cocooned.
Elites
Elites are a rare breed of changeling created by Royals to act in their stead when required and work as their personal guards at all other times. They are genetically altered by Royal's in the womb, though they can also be altered later in life as well, and are distinguished by their purple eyes and wing/shell, their red fin-like hair, and their status as hermaphrodites. What truly makes them different however is they are altered to have the abilities of all other changeling sub-classes, excluding the Royals. This allows them to be sent to work with and oversee any role the Royals want.
Royals
As the name suggests these changelings are the rulers of the Hive. Without one the Hive Mind is inaccessible to changelings. All Royals are able to access all knowledge of the Hive Mind including the forgotten knowledge of previous Royals that wasn't saved to the more available Hive Memory, as well as having the abilities of all changeling sub-classes. While the Queen/King's are ageless similar to Alicorns, they can still die. As such they generally had a Prince/Princess shortly after ascending the throne. These younger royals also had the agelessness of their parents but would generally not have access to the memory of past Royals until they became the Hives leaders. Royals can be identified due to their more mane like and Crown like antennae found on the King/Queen. On very rare occasions a regular changeling would give birth to a Royal who would either be raised as a spare or raised as the next King/Queen, depending on the current Royal in question.
Other
This is a small section of sub-classes available to both Mystics and Shifters.
Guards
Guards are obviously tasked with guarding the Hive and Royals. They rarely leave the Hive unless escorting a Royal, Elite, or Librarian given permission to leave the Hive.
Nurses
These changelings are tasked to look after the grubs when their parent/s are working or otherwise unavailable. This is generally until they are old enough to be considered nymphs (around 4 years of age) and are ready to start being taught by Librarian's.
Breeders
Another sub-class created through genetic alteration. This sub-class is considered either a great honor or embarrassment depending on how the changeling in question ended up here. If it was due to the changelings own wishes to be altered to aid the Hive it is an honor. However, if this alteration is forced upon them by the Royal then it is humiliating to the changeling in question as this implies they are of no other use to the Hive then an incubators, this is however only done when a changeling has repeatedly in their assigned class. The alterations to these changelings allows them to pass on specific traits into their offspring along with being capable of carrying and birthing dozens of grubs at once with no negative repercussions while also shortening their expectancy phase. All Breeders are hermaphrodites so as to breed more changelings even when pregnant.

A class made specifically for the false king Thorax due to his ineptitude in all both Shifter and Mystic sub-classes and no-one wishing him to be a breeder due to fear his incompetence would pass on to his offspring.

I apologize deeply for how long it took to get this out. But its finally here.
Just a few things to cover before we go on.

Finally I will be making a Chapter/Blog/or Second for this story that provides info on different Subspecies of Infiltrators and Informers that I wish for you to comment on if you have ideas for other subspecies. It will come out a day or two after this.

A Queen Rises (unedited)

Slowly, I begin to drift awake. The first thing that I feel is the gel of the egg enveloping me on all sides. Annoyed I use my horn to cut away at the fragile membrane, feeling a chill as the cool air of the outside world rushes to fill the space the gel once covered.
Stepping out of the remains of my egg I am greeted by...light snores? Turning to my left indeed reveals the forms of my mother and Delphinieae, leaning against each-other with light snores leaving their mouths.
Slightly off-put that no-one was awake to greet my entrance into the world, I understand their need for sleep due to the exhaustion they have gone through the past few hours, Mother especially.
Looking down at her I see just how much she sacrificed to prepare my body and mind for the times ahead. Where once she had stood equal to Celestia's 8ft 6 inches, she now was smaller then any in your current Hive at only 5ft. Holes once again covered her frame, her breasts had shrunk to A's, and the antenna crown that gave her the rank of Queen and control over the Hive Mind was gone.
Once I finished looking over my mother and Delphi, I use my mothers memories to examine myself. I stand at 6ft tall, taller than an average pony or changelings 5ft 7 inches, but smaller than any of the adult Alicorn Princesses, even Twilight Sparkle having 4 inches over me. My face resembles that of my mother, though I note both my mane and eyes are a both a slightly lighter hue, probably due to my sperm donors genetics. My frame is curvy with a fair amount of hidden muscle, giving me a fair but athletic body shape. Down to your breasts, they were a pleasurable D-cup, with my muscles preventing even a bit of sag making them quiet perky. My ass was also perky with enough fat to give it an enticing jiggle. Finally I move down to my equipment. Mother obviously decided on giving you both systems, similar to a Changeling Elite, for between my legs were both an enticing pussy and a slightly small but still respectable 8 inch long and 41/2 inch thick cock resting just above it.
Done examining my body, I look to examine my magic. I find that mother focused on improving my transformation capabilities. Unsurprising given mothers preference to using magic to effect things and creatures around her, rather than changing herself. Focusing even more I can see the magic connections to my horn that should allow me to cast magic like a Unicorn, are currently weak. Once I have a stable source of love I can work to fix them, but until then the most I can do is basic levitation, and sadly awhile before I will be converting ponies on my own.
Once I finished examining myself, I look toward mother. While I wish to let her sleep, it would be best to have her call the other Changelings back. Even though they knew of my birth, hearing you contact them while they are out in the field would be distracting. At least with mother they are accustomed to hearing her in the Hive Mind.
Walking over to the two sleeping Lings I bend down and gently start to shake them. " Mother, please awake, I require your assistance."
Slowly Both mother and Delphi begin to wake, Delphi coming to full alertness first. "P-Princess! Y-Your awake?! Your mother said it would be soon but... so fast.
Smiling you respond. "Well I could hardly leave my subjects waiting to see my magnificence. So, while I know you Delphi allow me to introduce myself. I am Odanata, Queen of the Changelings, and soon to be savior of the misguided Changelings and other species of this wonderful world." As Delphi looks at me in abject shock and awe I hear a murmured "Not even an hour old and already planning on world domination." coming from my mother.
Chuckling slightly at the light jab, I simply say. "Well of course Mother, while I would love to just take back our subjects and pony pets back to how things should be, the rest of the world is to use to having the ponies around to clean up their messes. So to prevent them from fighting against us, we simply have to show them how much happier their lives will be under our command."
Turning to Delphi I call "Elite Delphinieae." to which she quickly snaps to attention. "Establish contact with Infiltrator Epilo and her team deeper in the cave and see if it's suitable for establishing our Hive. Mother, while she is doing that, I would like you to contact Infiltrator Viola and her team for an update on their scouting of the surrounding area and any potential risk we should be made aware of. Once both have finished their reports, recall them to meet here immediately."
Delphi snaps of a salute and mother gives a firm nod. As I feel them both reach out to their respective charges I sat down, slightly hardening the chitin and skin touching the rocks so as not to get any rocks dug into my ass. While waiting I have time to think out my next course of action. While I was sounding confident for mother and Delphi, internally I was a little nervous. Making plans for world conquest was easy, but pulling off said plans was much more difficult.
Suddenly there was a great deal of anger coming from mother. Instantly I brought myself into her link and see what has caused the frustration. Viola was blended into a tree along the train tracks from which apparently the Element Bearers and the mare Starlight had just rode by. The anger was from mother having to quickly stop Viola from leaping aboard the train in a foolish attempt at revenge.
Focusing on Mother I instructed. 'Recall her here immediately. We will decide on a punishment later, but for now focus on recalling her and the others.'As I said this I reached out and connect to the other Changelings mother was suppose to contact to her link as well while telling her. 'I will keep the you connected while you call the others back, afterwords keep up the link to her until she is back here.'
Once I managed to calm mother mother down I turned my attention to Delphi's link 'I trust their are no problems here?' you ask. ' Delphi immediately responded. 'No Mam, quite the opposite. Epilo and the others have come across a small group of Diamond Dogs and a small horde of treasure. I had them ascertain that their were no other entrances into the inner cave and once done instructed them to restrain and cocoon the Dogs in preparation for our arrival.'
Nodding I moved to stand and pace back and forth, waiting for Viola, Cypri, and Segmenta to return from the Forests. Keeping track of them through the Hive Mind you see Viola coming from where the tracks run past the White Tail Woods. Segmenta was coming from the fringes of the Everfree Forest and seemed to be concerned, based on the feelings you felt coming through her link. Finally Cypri was returning from White Tail Woods, surprisingly the usually timid male was feeling quite happy to the usual bundle of nerves mothers memories showed him to be.
*Time Skip*
Once the three near the mouth of the cave I cut the Link and contacted Pharynx and Vale to inform Pharynx to come inside with the three and for Vale to remain outside. Finished I turn to the approaching Changelings. Viola was looking down shame emanating off her, Segmenta came in and staring at me with a look of awe, a look I copy upon seeing Cypri come in with more love than he had when mother sent him out hours ago.
While the love he had obtained was small compared to what can be gathered from a lover or even a friend it was still more than what existed before.
As the three come to a halt in front of me Viola begins to speak up. "My Queen I..." I raised my hand to stop her from trying to finish whatever excuse I expected her to try and give.
"I do not care what foolish logic you had going through your mind that made you think attacking the Elements would be a good idea. Just know that you can expect to be punished for this later."
After speaking Viola tried to respond. "I only wanted..."
"I don't care about what you wanted." I quickly find myself cutting her off once more. "I care about the fact that if you went through with it you would be captured, interrogated, and possibly killed." Finishing my small rant I felt the small amount of fear emanate from the now nervous Infiltrator.
"B-but the Elements..." Viola weakly started.
"Would give you over to Celestia, and despite seeming to be the ever forgiving mother... Ponies tend to forget she is also the pony that went to war against Tirek, Discord, Sombra, and her own sister, the results being a thousand plus years of suffering for all who faced her. Even Mother was only able to beat her because Celestia was unable to use her full power without harming all her subjects."
Turning around I begin walking deeper into the cave knowing the others would follow behind. While I walked I tried to think of what to do with Viola. Good intentions or not I cannot simply let her off for what could have easily ruined what little mother and now I had left for a Hive.
Nearing the end of the cave the clinking of metal reached my ears, most likely the gold that Epilo mentioned. Gesturing to Viola I command, " Assist with the organization of the treasure for now. Your punishment will be decided later." She responds with a quick salute before moving solemnly over to the piles of treasure.
Once I was sure the others were focused upon their current task my attention returned to Cypri and Segmenta. Addressing Segmenta I said " Segmenta you appeared concerned upon contact, would you explain what troubles you so?" Upon finishing my question Segmenta quickly responded " My Queen I apologize for not informing you immediately due to trying to keeping myself concealed... But I regret to inform you that their appears to be a Zebra shaman living within the borders of the Everfree." Recoiling upon hearing this, I try not to panic. The Zebra's, especially the shamans, had been enemies to Changelings for generations. Their general tribal communities prevented my kind from easily integrating themselves and then their shamans went and developed a special kind of al-chemical paste capable of reveling disguised Changeling, a paste they unfortunately made apart of custom welcomes throughout their kingdom. "Show me!" was my immediate response upon calming slightly, to which Segmenta rapidly nods, a small smile spreading across her face as she feels the established link and starts to pull up the specific memory.

Segmenta's Memory
As I appear in the memory alongside Segmenta she gestures to a random squirrel, likely indicating the memory version of herself, then indicating a quaint home seemingly built into a tree decorated with tribal masks and hanging flasks. " We are approximately a 2 miles into the Everfree in conjunction to Ponyville. The flasks appeared to only contain potions to ward of insects and the regular Everfree predators from what little I understand and remember from the hives memory and library."
Nodding I begin looking around the memory to get a better feel of how it was when physically there. Overall the place gave off a traditional Zebra welcome, meaning all non-Changelings were welcome, an annoying snub at Changelings due to Zebras living closest to their old land for centuries. Moving over to a window you peer inside to observe the Zebra mare inside.
She stood around 5ft8 inches with around C-cup breasts, she wore traditional Zebrawe garb covering very little to keep cool and leaving little to the imagination. The staff she held and the cauldron situated in the center of her home identified her immediately as a shaman, something you couldn't help smiling about. For millennia the zebras were able to keep your kind out with their Shamans potions capable of revealing your disguise with the Shamans and their ingredients being heavily guarded treasures, and miraculously a few days after the larger part of the hive fell an unguarded Shaman falls almost directly into your lap. While their was the unfortunate possibility she did not know the proper potions, the fact of the matter was you had the chance to indoctrinate a Shaman, something no Changeling has ever had the chance to do.

Inner Cave
Smirking, I withdraw from Segmenta's mind, giving her a sultry smile as she removes herself from the memory. Giving her a brief, but sensual kiss on the snout I tell her. "An impressive find Segmenta. Once you are rested up Cypri will share some of the love he has collected for you to continue observing her. This is a golden opportunity but we need to be cautious going forward. For now I want you to simply observe her daily habits, who she sees, what she does, how she acts, once we have that we can start planning to induct her into the Hive."
Taken aback at the kiss Segmenta could only nod dumbly before walking almost drunkenly over to one of the stalagmites near the tunnel before leaning against it and closing her eyes, sleep coming quickly thanks to the emotions of calm I projected to her through the link.
Once Segmenta had fallen asleep I turn my attention to Cypri who still has a large blush on his face from seeing me kissing Segmenta. "Oh Cypri~~~," I sing-song with a teasing lilt to my tone that brings the blush back to Cypri's face in excess. "I trust that their is a story to how you got that love and are able to provide more?" Cypri tries to speak but is only able to stutter out the occasional uh and ah. Letting out a quick giggle at his expense, I project waves of calm to him. After a minute Cypri takes a final deep breath before speaking. "Yes my Queen, the love I gathered is from a mare that seems to live alone in the White Tail Woods a couple hours out from Ponyville." Curious I poke at his mind through the link asking him to show me. Blushing once again Cypri managed a nod and moments later you once again you find yourself in a forest.
Scene Change
Cypri's Mind
Looking around I immediately notice this forest has a completely different atmosphere compared to the Everfree. All around everything about this forest gives off a lighter, more peaceful, feel. Turning around I see a small tent and camping supplies set up next to a small lake. Before investigating further the tent flap opened to reveal a 5'8" mare with a light harlequin coat and light amaranth mane done up in dreadlocks.
What immediately caught my attention was that she was bereft of clothes, leaving her F-cup breasts and considerably gelatinous posterior exposed to the chill of the morning air. As she walked over to the lake I noticed that despite being a bit pudgy, most of it was focused around her breasts and butt. While she knelt down to wash her face she unknowingly was giving Cypri a pleasant view of her Cutie Mark, a white tree with autumn leaves in the shape of a heart.
Once she sits up from washing her face I see that a plethora of wild animals congregate around the mare, at which point I feel through Cypri's memories the love starting to flow from the mare toward all the creatures. Unsurprisingly Cypri was drawn closer to the mare due to the love she was producing. What truly surprised me however was as he drew closer, the animals did not seemed disturbed by Cypri's intrusion. Once he drew right up to the mare however, what truly shocked me was the fact that upon seeing him the mare immediately picked Cypri up and placed him in her lap, stroking him as a small but steady stream of love started to flow into him from the mare.

Inner Cave
I stayed in the memory for a few more seconds as she began to speak, just long enough hear that her name was Treehugger, before withdrawing from the memory and link before addressed Cypri. "Your orders are the same as Segmenta's. Observer this mare for a time so as to ascertain her habits and any contact she has with others, regardless of species. Depending on who she interact with or how often she contact society we shall she what steps should be made regarding her."
Once Cypri nodded and went off to assist in counting the treasure with the others I turned my attention to the podded Diamond Dogs. "Pharynx, Delphi, for now I need you two to focus on extracting the history of these dogs and once you both have a stable time of events that lead them here I want you to manipulate their memories and implant the belief that we came upon them and aided them in exchange for their fealty. Once we are assured of their love and loyalty we can have them start work on expanding this cave into a new Hive. Being situated between both Canterlot and Ponyville provides us with access to both through their underground caverns."
Finishing my orders to the Elites I turned my attention to mother. "Could you follow me please mother?" Upon her nod I gestured over to a corner of the cave currently not being taken up by Changelings. Once we both got slightly comfortable I turned to her. "Mom I need you to understand this fast, right now I only have basic knowledge on our abilities. The vast information I was given through both your and my sperm donors memories currently has things in a jumbled mess. So while the rest of the Hive is resting or busy you and I are going to go through this clutter I currently call my mind and sort out the most relevant or useful memories available." Mother can seemingly only stare before a small smile tugs at her lips. " Not even a day old and already you prove your superior intellect and humility. Yes though you should at least inform the others we will be busy for the foreseeable future and to only disturb if absolutely necessary."
A quick nod and message through the Hive Mind telling everyone to only disturb us if their task are complete and a emergency arises. Upon doing so mother and I establish a link together and I pull her into my mind. As we look around the tangled mess mother only says '...So... Were do we start?'
Current Choices to make
- What memories should we focus on unraveling first?(Please keep the ideas reasonable)
- Upon being inducted were should we have the dogs focus on digging?
- Should we keep the focus on Odonata, or have small P.O.V shifts to other changelings when we send them out?
- If so who should we focus on first Cypri or Segmenta?
- Finally what should Viola's punishment be?(Please keep tame, this punishment is more to humble and teach rather than to hurt)
