Scootaloo decides to tell her friends about her latest idea to acquire a cutie mark. Cutie Mark Crusaders Treasure Hunters. Yay! Although Applebloom seems a little apprehensive about it, Sweetie Belle assures her that this latest adventure will be a successful one indeed. Scootaloo plans to search for a rare artifact around Fluttershy's cottage, just outside of the view of the Everfree, having taken inspiration from reading the Daring Do novels. Although Applebloom has her doubts, she and Sweetie Belle decide to embark on this latest outing with Scootaloo, and they proclaim that they will get their cutie marks at last.

However, Diamond Tiara overhears their latest plan, and with an attempt to cause them more pain, discovers that two of the three crusaders do not actually dislike her. How will she respond to this? What will she tell Silver Spoon? Will she be able to put her feelings of resentment towards the crusaders aside, and finally admit to them what she has been thinking all of this time.

Amidst all of these rather innocent events, a series of disturbing and strange occurrences begin to effect the inhabitants of Ponyville, and the events to follow will begin to reveal to the crusaders that their destiny is far more grand than simply obtaining a cutie mark.
