There have been many wars in Equestrian history, none more important than the gem wars. The first, the Crystal Rebellion, drove the oppressive Diamond Authority off planet. The second, The Black Reconciliation, brought the fragments of gemkind together once more.

Generations into the future, former Marine major David Kolya sits down to share his role in the second gem war. Having been given the form and powers of Pink Diamond, his is perhaps the most important of all.
