A Nasty Nip in the Weather...
(Almost) Freezing in a Winter Hellland
Previous Chapter"Mystery Mint again?" she asked, realizing that she transformed into this character before from the early part of last year, as people continued to stare at her somewhat innapropriate garb for the weather. "Hopefully I can get home without freezing to death."
"Need some help?" asked a giant green changeling who had appeared from literally nowhere.
Mystery Mint face palmed. Could this day get any worse?
Indeed, her day could get worse. There was a snowstorm forecast, the snow was rolling in, and she was dressed about as inappropriately as it was possible to be for the weather, for she had no coat for the cold! So she took the only course of action she could in those circumstances.
She ran through the snow, wrapping her arms around herself as she sprinted along to try and escape the cold. The cold, icy air brushed against her skin, making the hairs on the back of her neck stand on end (but none of the rest of her hair did, or else she would have gone through a Van de Graff generator), determined to beat the storm. "S-S-So c-c-cold." she said in shivers. The weather grew colder and colder. The fog began to roll in, and before long it became impossible to see. For Mystery Mint, the scarf was not sufficient protection against the biting cold, and she knew something was wrong when her skin began to turn blue, or rather a bit more blue than it normally did, which indicated she was getting too cold to keep going. "I-I-I must make it into some place w-w-warm." she said again in shivers, but determined not to give up despite the cold weather. She turned a corner, the weather getting worse and worse, and her lungs freezing and her legs full to the brim with lactic acid, causing her pace to slow as she reached a door and began to pant loudly, trying to get her breath back. "F-Finally... A place where I c-c-can w-w-warm u-u-u-up." she said one last time in shivers.
"Hey!" called a female voice. "In here!" A door in front of her swung open, and Mystery Mint went inside to a very warm coffee shop with a cup of coffee sitting on a table. She sat down, and picked it up. Sitting opposite her was her old friend, Watermelody. "Why are you out in this Neptunian cataclysm, in such strange and alien attire?"
"You're wearing a skirt too," Mystery Mint retorted, as she sipped on her coffee, feeling much better now that she was warmed up and no longer exposed to the cold weather. "I needed this. So, how did you get here?"
"I was Jimmy too, remember," Watermelody replied. Realising how crazy that sounded, she fiddled with a glove and showed Mystery Mint the surge of magical energy floating off of it.
"I vaguely remember that," Mystery Mint sighed, as she began to warm up. "What a weird few days."
"I just wonder why I can coexist in multiple places and as multiple characters at once," Watermelody sighed. "It makes no sense."
"That sounds like the plot of a novel, or a series of stories on the internet," said the barista. "You girls should seriously consider contacting a publisher."
Mystery Mint nodded. "Any clue where Starlight is?"
"Glimmer or no?"
"No. She's not relevant."
"HEY!" shouted a filly from a nearby table (along with an EG Human that looked like her on the other side of said table).
"Shall we wait until she turns up?" Mystery Mint suggested.
Watermelody checked her watch. "We might be waiting a while, you know..."
Author's Note
Dang.... had I stayed outside any longer exposed to the weather, in my Mystery Mint form that is, I would of died to the freezing cold. But at least I was able to make it through the cold and was able to warm up thankfully.
