Chapter 1
Meet Jubilee
I wondered what was going to happen when I moved away from Canterlot. I watched as my Princess Celestia told me and my sisters to move away from Canterlot and go across Equestria. I was assigned to Ponyville, since it was my turn to plan for the festival.
“Jubilee! Please come here and help me pack my bags!” Bonnie, my older sister called from across the room. I sighed and trotted over to Bonnie, packing her endless things into her many bags. Her bags were going to take up an entire train car! My little sister, Coral, helped me packed Bonnie’s things. Coral hadn’t gotten her cutie mark yet; she was still a filly. Bonnie’s cutie mark was a hairbrush, showing her vanity and selfishness. My cutie mark, my calling, was acting. My cutie mark was the two masks that were upon most movie theaters.
While I was deep in thought, Bonnie started yelling at my twin sister, Dove Flight, Dove for short. Dove’s off-white coat was bristling at Bonnie as she retorted. I returned to the world and saw Bonnie’s dark blue coat and Dove’s off white fine mane and coat. I pulled Dove from the argument and let her talk to me while I was packing my things. “Jubilee, I am seriously going to miss you. I’m going to be all the way in Fillydelphia, and you will be in Ponyville. Oh, and good luck with the Halloween Carnival. I heard that Princess Luna will be coming with you. You and your dark blue wings are lucky!” Dove said, her own feathered white wings spreading out.
I smiled. Maybe having Princess Luna, my secret best friend, coming with me wouldn’t be so bad. I hoped. It was a bit scary, being away from home.
Dove helped me for a while. And then went over to her bags to prepare for Fillydelphia. The only one of my siblings that weren’t going was Coral, so she could finish flight school, and Donnie, Bonnie’s twin brother. He had to finish guard school with Shining Armor.
Donnie barged into our rooms and tried to hug Bonnie, who protested because she didn’t want her hair to be messy. He smiled at me and hugged me, even though I wasn’t going even farther than Dove. Donnie, Dove and I had a conversation before we left.
“Jubilee, Dove, promise me you will be good!” He said to both of us. “Dove, I know your peaceful gift will do well in Fillydelphia. Jubilee, your acting will be much appreciated in Ponyville, I know it!” He said to us. “Thanks.” Dove and I said simultaneously. Donnie was the only pony in our family that was a Unicorn. Bonnie, Dove, Coral and I were Pegasi. Our mother was a Unicorn, and our father was a Pegasus. Most of the rest of our family were Pegasi and Earth Ponies.
Our mother was expecting another pony, and sadly, Bonnie, Dove and I wouldn’t be here when she was due to have our little sister or brother. Donnie said that he would send letter to the three of us as soon as he or she was born.
I finally finished all of my packing, and was ordered to help Bonnie again, who wasn’t even half packed. It was getting confusing. So many hair products and brushes, and she had to keep correcting me. I was getting tired of it.
I finally gave up and listened to Bonnie’s whining. Oh, why couldn’t Luna be my sister? She loves watching the stars, like I do. She loves taking naps during the day, like I do. There was so many things that we had in common.
My mind wandering was interrupted by Bonnie knocking me down and hitting me in the face. She did it hard, too. Donnie growled at Bonnie and picked her off of me, throwing her into her bags. “You are being horrible, Bonnie. Jubilee, Dove, Coral and I are getting tired of your whining. Its time you step away from the mirror and get into the real world. I don’t think you are ready to leave Canterlot. Don’t even mind packing. I’m talking to Celestia now.” He said. Stomping out of the room, he slammed the doors behind him, sending in some guards to make sure that Bonnie didn’t attack us again. I stood, feeling wobbly and unsure. Dove quickly helped me to my bed, making sure that I was okay. “You, get a nurse or something. Jubilee is bleeding.” She ordered, one of the guards quickly calling a nurse in. The white mare quickly came in and tended to me, using her magic to heal me.
Celestia and Luna ran into the room. Luna quickly came to me, making sure I was okay and helping me up. Celestia approached Bonnie. “You are not leaving Canterlot for a long time, Bonnie. Shining Armor and Donnie told me everything. Trying to hurt your little sister? I try to keep the peace in all of Equestria, but how can I do that when I have to waste my time correcting a young mare’s actions in my own city? Donnie was right. You need to grow up and get a job instead of living off of Jubilee and Donnie. Tomorrow, instead of getting on the train, you will be my personal assistant. Jubilee, do you think this is a good punishment for her?” She asked, turning to me.
I looked up at her and nodded. “Plenty. She does need to grow up.”I said to her. Luna nodded, checking my wound once more. Luna leaned and whispered into my ear. “Want me to make Celestia send her to clean the dungeon?” She asked. I shook my head, giggling at the idea of Bonnie trying to clean up the dungeon.
Bonnie didn’t protest and started unpacking her things again as Luna, Celestia, the guards and the nurse left. Bonnie went into her bathroom, restocking all of her things.
