Two Souls, One Ling

As soon as Thorax woke up, after what happened at the party, he knew that something was bound to go wrong. Either way, he had to get up. But, he just decided to lay there for a few more moments, before actually getting up. He saw that everyling was already up and about, so why not he?

“ Morning, Thorax. “ Pharynx said, having his normal, straight-face expression.

“ Morning. “ He smiled, but kind of weakly. He still thought about the disaster he caused at the party, and really couldn’t stop thinking about it. He just walked away-well-tried. Pharynx was following him, and he didn’t know why. He didn’t mind it, before it felt like he was following him to ask something. He stopped walking for a moment.

“ Pharynx- “

“ You feeling ok? “ He asked. Called it. Thorax thought. He just looked away, not wanting to talk about it, and just walked away.

“ Thorax.. “ Pharynx’s eyes squinted, suspiciously. He kept trying to ask, but nothing. Thorax either walked away, or tried to change the subject. After prying at him for minutes, Thorax was just giving up. If he didn’t answer, this wouldn’t stop. He took a breath, and was about to explain, but he was interrupted.

“ Your majesty, you have a letter. “ He turned to one of his subjects. He grabbed it with magic.

“ How in Equestria do these things get here, anyways...? “ He mumbled, opening the letter. It read,

Dear, Thorax,

I need some help. I cannot explain right now, but I really need help! Come back to Canterlot, quickly!

Your friend, Twilight Sparkle

“ Help? Wait-why is the paper so..torn.. “ He mumbled. He looked to Pharynx, and back at the note for a moment.

“ ...I think this might be...a bit serious.. “

“ No duh. “ Pharynx rolled his solid lavender eyes. Thorax lifted into the air, and looked at Pharynx.

“ I’ll be back! “ He said, before flying off. Pharynx watched as his young brother flew off to who-knows-where, either getting hurt, or worse. He was close to following him, but he needed to look after the hive. So, he stayed.

Thorax was glancing around in the sky, having a mental panic. He wondered if anything crazy was happening! What if Chrysalis attacked them?! He wouldn’t be ready to confront her again! What if-

Oh, don’t worry..Chrysalis won’t be attacking anytime soon... He sighed, as he honestly, actually hated hearing that voice. It was so...rude, and quite loud. Her voice had a strange echo to it, and it definitely was a female. It almost sounded like...Chrysalis...

He shook his head, there was no way! He lost his current train of thought, when he heard a scream. It sounded exactly like Twilight, so he was definitely close. He was along the edges of Canterlot, so all he had to do was fly towards the actual Canterlot center.

“ Twilight?! Twilight, where are you?! “ He called, only to get no response. She had be here, she HAD to! He landed, and started wandering about. It might’ve been dangerous, but he didn’t know. He caught a glance of a pony running. He thought, maybe they knew where Twilight was. He tried following them, but they already ran off, but he kept catching glances.

“ Hello? Is anyone here? “ He called out. No response. Then, he heard another scream. He turned, and followed where the noise came from. It sounded like it was coming from the west. Why is there a pony screaming? He didn’t know, he just got this today, and it sounded like a big deal!

He was around a corner, as he heard a menacing hiss. He stopped, thinking there was a snake around. He peeked around the corner, and almost yelled out, “ WHAT THE- “

He saw a young mare, with fear in her eyes, crying. In front of her, was a group of monstrosities all the way from tartarus itself. They were all some type of hybrid of a pony, and a changeling, stained with blood and tears. He could swear that one had intestines wrapped around it. He put a hoof to his mouth, feeling like he was about to puke, but he almost gagged quietly.

Thorax, if you puke, I swear to Celestia-

He pressed his back against the wall, still feeling that sickened feeling in his throat. He swallowed the feeling down, and sighed. He looked back, and some of the hybrids were looking in his general direction. It was only a matter of time before they found him, but they only turned back around. He let out a sigh of relief, and his antlers glowed. He was gonna take a risk, and fight for once.

He came out of his hiding place, and shot a beam of magic at some of the hybrids. They all looked to him, and growled. They all slowly came toward him, and that’s when he knew, that he screwed up. He backed away, as they got closer. He took a step forward, and shot a beam at them again. That’s when they all charged at Thorax, but he kept shooting at them.

“ Sweet mother of the hive, there’s so many of them! “ He said out-loud, still shooting. One of them, managed to leap on him, hissing at his face. He pushed them off, and flew into the air, shooting from above. But, what he didn’t realize, that as ponies had different types of groups, these creatures did too. The unicorn-hybrids started shooting at him, dark red beams coming toward him. He dodged almost all of them, some beams hitting his legs.

“ Oh geez. “ The Pegasus-hybrids flew toward him, very fast, and tried pushing him to the ground. He resisted the force of these creatures, but it wasn’t enough, as the unicorn-hybrids shot at his legs again, weakening him, more and more, before he completely fell to the ground. Not even his wings could keep him up, as his elytra was getting shot at too, some beams piercing through it.

“ Oh no... “ He mumbled, as the creatures came closer. He tried to get up, but the Pegasus-hybrids kept him down, about 20 of them had too. He shot at the Pegasi-hybrids, forcing them off of him, giving him the ability to get up again. He kept shooting at them, the beams getting more strong each time. He noticed, all of the unicorn-hybrids getting into a large group, as all of the others went down. As they all got shot down, the last of the unicorns tried to make a final attack.

Their horns glowed dark red, Thorax’s antlers and horn glowed a dark greenish-blue. They both shot at the same time, the beams colliding. The unicorn’s used all of their strength, competing Thorax’s strength, as they started to win. His eyes widened in fear.

“ No. No! “ He said out-loud, as he shut his eyes tightly, his head started hurting again. His eyes opened again, as they looked like Chrysalis’s. His magic turned green, taking a step forward. The green beams started over-powering the dark red beams. The last thing he heard, was the creature’s scream, before there was a explosion noise. He backed up, as guts and blood spread across the area.

At this point, he really was about to puke. But, he did his best not to, although he was gagging like crazy. He shook his head, his eyes back to normal, as he looked to the mare. She had fear in her eyes, frozen in place. Thorax started walking toward her.

“ ..Are you ok? “ He asked. The mare recoiled away from Thorax. She had a long, pink-like mane and tail, with a pastel pink coat. Her eyes were colored orange, and her cutie mark was a neon pink diamond.

“ You’re scared of me, huh?.. “ He said, knowingly. All she could do was nod. He sighed, and held out his hoof.

“ ..I won’t hurt you, ok? I’m Thorax, leader of the Changeling’s. “ He smiled, softly. Not threatening at all! She hesitated, before putting her hoof on his.

“ ..I-I’m Lucy Diamond.. “ She stuttered. He nodded, feeling her nervousness.

“ Were you with a group? “ She nodded.

“ Y-Yeah, but they all escaped, as I got captured. We were all with Twilight Sparkle, but she’s trying to find me. “ She explained. He perked up, when he knew Twilight was out here. He was about to say something, but he heard loud hissing. He turned, and saw another hoard of hybrids, coming their way.

“ Run. “ He said, as they both ran off. The hybrids ran after them, but Thorax kept trying to shoot at them. He was flying above Lucy Diamond, trying to protect her. As they were running, they stopped, as another hoard was in front of them. They were trapped. So cliche.

“ W-What do we do?! “ She asked, trembling. Thorax looked about, having a mental panic, but he got himself together, and grabbed Lucy Diamond. He flew off into the sky, quickly. He felt Lucy climb on his back, gripping on to him.

“ T-Thorax, you have holes in your wings! How are you still flying?! “

“ Well, I had holes in my wings before, I can’t fly if my wing is really torn, or wet. “ He said. She nodded, and looked behind them. They Pegasus-hybrids we’re flying behind them.

“ T-They’re right behind us!!! “ She screamed. Thorax took a dive down, out of panic. He wanted to try and get the hybrids lost. But, it was pretty hard, as he was too colorful for them to actually loose him. He started panicking, when he heard magic blasts behind him. He looked behind, as the pegasi were shot down. He looked to his right, and saw Twilight Sparkle.

“ Twilight! “ He smiled at her. She smiled back, as she flew toward Ponyville, and he followed.

Once they were on the ground, Lucy Diamond ran to her friends. They had a group hug, and had a very happy moment. But, it was interrupted, as they saw Thorax. They all pointed to him, shocked. All he saw, was Lucy nod, and walk up to him.

“ Thank you, Thorax! You saved my life! “ She smiled, in relief.

“ Oh! Wow-uh—t-thank you! “ He stuttered, blushing a bit. She smiled, and walked back to her friends. He looked to Twilight, nervously.

“ W-Well..I-I should go, now...b-bye! “ He waved, before flying off. Twilight didn’t even get to say anything, which made her a bit worried. But, she smiled and waved back.

As he made it back to the Hive, he felt light-headed. It was almost nighttime, as well. He looked about, and started heading to his sleeping chambers, but he froze. He didn’t know why, but he just did. His vision and hearing blurred and all he saw, was an blurred figure of Pharynx. He felt his limbs go numb, and he just....
