Rainbow Dash was sleeping very peacefully in her bed, next to her husband Soarin. When two fillies rushed to the bed of the two adult pegasus and began jumping on their parents.
"Mommy! Daddy! Wake up! Today is New Year's Eve! We have to enjoy the last day of the year!" Twin fillies Ragtag and Shooting Star said at the same time as they jumped on their parents's bed.
Soarin and Rainbow Dash groaned as they slowly opened their eyes and looked at the fillies above them.
"Calm down girls, we still have a whole day ahead" Soarin said
"But we want to start early, we want to make the most of our last day of the year!" Said Ragtag
"Yeah, you two better not sleep again!" Shooting Star said
Dash and Soarin looked at each other and accepted defeat.
"It's all right..."
"Yay!!!"

Shortly after rising, Rainbow Dash and Soarin went into the kitchen with their daughters for breakfast. Rainbow Dash had prepared bacon, eggs and pancakes for breakfast.
"This breakfast is great, Mommy" said Shooting Star as she ate her pancakes with honey syrup.
"Glad you enjoyed it," Dash said.
"Have you made plans for today sweetie?" Soarin asked his wife
"Yes, my parents will come to celebrate the new year with us"
"You mean Grandpa Bow and Grandma Windy are coming today? Yay !!!" Ragtag said
"I love it when Grandma and Grandpa come to visit us! When are they coming?" Shooting Star said
"At 8:00 I think" Dash said
"Well we better start enjoying our day, and to start who is in the mood to go to the cloudsdale public pool?" Soarin said and his daughters cheered up.

Rainbow Dash and Soarin took their two twin daughters to Cloudsdale's public pool to enjoy the last day of the year. The two fillies loved the Cloudsdale pool, because it was one of the largest and most famous pools in Equestria.
Rainbow Dash was relaxing in a chair with his sunglasses on while enjoying some sunshine. Ragtag and Shooting Star were playing with each other in the pool, and Soarin was bringing a cold drink to his wife. He knew how much she loved Cloudsdale's drinks.
"Here Dashie, I know how much you like Cloudsdale's rainbow vitamin," Soarin said as he handed the drink to his wife.
"Thanks Soarin, you needed this," Dash said as she sipped his drink.
Soarin approached her and sat in a chair beside her, and also decided to enjoy some sunshine while his daughters had fun in the pool.

In the late afternoon the four ponies returned home to welcome Rainbow Dash's parents, Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles.
Soarin and Rainbow Dash were finishing organizing the house when they heard a knock on the door.
"I open the door!" Ragtag said running to the door and opening it revealing her grandparents.
"Hello Ragtag, how's our lovely little granddaughter doing?" Windy Whistles said
"Grandma Windy! Grandpa Bow! I'm so glad you came!" Ragtag said as he hugged her grandparents
"We wouldn't miss it for honey" Bow Hothoof said
Shooting Star also ran to the door and hugged her grandparents
"Grandma! grandpa!"
"Hello our little Shooting Star!" Bow Hothoof said
"Mommy, Daddy welcome, I'm so glad you accepted my invitation" Rainbow Dash said as she approached and hugged her parents
"We are also very happy that you invited us honey" Windy Whistles said
"Hello, Mr. Bow and Mrs. Windy, it's always a pleasure to welcome you here," Soarin said as he greeted his in-laws.
"It's always good to see you too Soarin" Bow Hothoof said

An hour later Rainbow Dash was in the kitchen preparing dinner with her mother Windy Whistles. While Soarin was in the room with the twins and Bow Hothoof discussing other matters.
Shooting Star then approached her mother and grandmother.
"Mommy, when will the food be ready? I'm starving"
"It's almost done honey" Rainbow Dash said.
"Yes after all this food demands a lot of perfection, oh I remember when your mother was a little filly and she loved when I made this food every year in the new year, and then she would mess everything around her with the food and then it was a sacrifice to make her shower and- "Windy was cut off by her daughter
"Mom I don't think you need to tell all the details," Rainbow Dash said blushing a little while Shooting Star just laughed.
Soon after the food was ready and all the ponies sat at the table and began to eat the delicious food.
"Wow, Windy this time you excel at cooking this food" Bow Hothoof said
"Thanks Bow" Windy Whistles said
"You excel yourself too Dashie" Soarin said
"Thank you Soar" Dash said as he kissed her husband on the cheek.
Shortly after eating Ragtag he went to the window and began to watch the fireworks.
"Mommy! Daddy! Can we go see the fireworks? Please Mommy! Our friends and our aunts will be there too, please!"
"Sure kid" Dash said.
"Yay!!!"

The six ponies flew to the highest point in Ponyville where all Dash residents and friends were.
"Rainbow Dash, good of you to come!" Twilight said as she stood beside her husband Flash Sentry
"I wouldn't miss it for nothing!" Dash said
Rainbow Dash's other friends were also there with their husbands. Rarity was with her husband Fancy Pants, Pinkie Pie was with Cheese Sandwich, Applejack was with Caramel, and Fluttershy was with Discord.
"Mommy! Can we go play with our friends?" Shooting Star asked your mother
"Of course honey just don't go too far and don't take too long, because soon the fireworks will start"
Ragtag and Shooting Star nodded as they ran to their aunt's daughters friends, Lumina, Li'l Cheese, Apple Sweet, Butterfly March and Nova Star Sparkle.
A few minutes later the fireworks finally began, and all the ponies were amazed at their beauty, the fillies rushed back to their parents to enjoy this moment together.
"Happy new year Dashie"
"Happy New Year Soar"
"Hey Soarin? What do you want for next year?"
"The only thing I want is I already have Dashie, you and our wonderful daughters. That's all I need."
Rainbow Dash smiled and then she leaned over and kissed Soarin on the lips who happily returned the kiss.
"I don't need anything but Soarin either"
Soon after Ragtag and Shooting Star climbed on their parents's back and to watch the fireworks. Shooting Star climbed on her father's back and Ragtag climbed on her mother's back.
And everyone stayed like that for hours just watching the fireworks while wishing each other the best for next year.
