“Around 5 million years ago, I gave birth to Princess Celestia, and exactly 1 million years later, I gave birth to Princess Luna,” continued Sideria.

“However,” she added, “I did not want to appear in the flesh before anypony, lest he or she cower in fear and flee from me. That is why I delegated the reign of Equestria to my two regal daughters.”

“So that’s why nopony knows that you even exist!” said Twilight Sparkle, finally getting to know Sideria as well as Celestia and Luna’s backstory.

“Nopony except you, Princess,” answered Sideria, “and you must keep my existence a secret.”

“I promise, your Majesty,” swore Twilight Sparkle.
