A month after Spring began, theme parks were reopened and flowers were regrowing. As for the Princess Of Friendship, she feels it’s time to return to Sunset’s world for the day. Unlike the other presents she opened, she didn’t bother to unbox her phone because it’s useless in Equestria.
She wondered how do use it in a world where technology is important. The only person she needs help is from Human Twilight, who loves technology. She takes her phone and goes through the portal to where her counterpart is at.
The Twilights walk together in the city of Canterlot where they go to a frozen yogurt bar. Human Twilight holds on to Princess Twilight’s phone, surprised it’s still sealed inside it’s box.
“So...Sunset is working at her job?” The Princess wondered.
“Yes. I had nothing to do today so I was sitting by Canterlot High.” Human Twilight replied. “I do have a job, but only as a part timer.”
“What about the others?”
“Rarity and Applejack is working with Vignette Valencia, Rainbow Dash is skateboarding, Pinkie Pie is working at her job at the Sweet Snacks Cafe and Fluttershy is at the animal care center.”
Princess Twilight knew she isn’t the only one who isn’t free with her friends. She was hoping Sunset would help her since it was her gift to her, but now she doesn't have any choice whatsoever.
“Okay, so do you know how to set up my phone?”
“Yes, but I think you need more help since there’s a LOT of features.” This overwhelmed the princess until her counterpart caught on. “No, we’re only doing the basics, don’t explode yourself.”
“Oh thank Celestia!”
Human Twilight giggle from her friend’s relief. They arrive at their destination where the best frozen yogurts are at. They enter inside as they look around the bar. The princess only went to two restaurants in this world and for her third ever restaurant, she found the place really impressive.
Several frozen yogurt machines being installed with all the different kinds of flavors, the walls are decorated promoting the best selling yogurts, and there’s a table for twelve people to sit by. The Twilights made their way to the cash register where there’s a girl with braces in her teeth.
“Welcome to the Frozen Yogurt.” She greeted. “You must be twins.”
This cause Human Twilight to frown from that response. “Looks like she wasn’t at the Starswirl Festival.” The Princess giggled.
“We’re not actually twins, but we’re here for the frozen yogurt.” Human Twilight corrected.
“Okay. Each cup of yogurt cost five dollars.” Human Twilight gave the employee ten dollars so she and her counterpart can have their cup of yogurt. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome.” Princess Twilight smiled. She and her counterpart left the cash register as they find a spot to sit. When Human Twilight pointed at the spot she wants to sit, they saw three familiar faces. They saw Microchips sitting with two other teens who are from Crystal Prep. They were the same people who helped Human Twilight with the college book for her gift to her counterpart.
“Microchips!” Human Twilight replied as she takes a seat by him.
“Hey Twilight, didn’t expect you to be here.” Microchips took notice.
“Not to mention her princess friend is with her.” Celery added.
“That's rare.” Alizarin commented. Princess Twilight decide to sit with Alizarin and Celery since she knows they’re the ones who made her gift last year.
“I’m here because I need some assistance with my gift from Sunset.” The princess starting the topic.
“Which is this.” Human Twilight showing the phone to everyone.
“You didn’t open it yet?” Microchips asked.
“She’s from Equestria, you know advanced technology isn’t relevant there.” Alizarin recalled.
“So...you two heard about my speech I guess.” The princess smiled.
Alizarin and Celery looked at the Princess Of Friendship with smiles on their faces. “Why yes, and we’re also from Crystal Prep.” Celery replied.
“Okay, let’s save the friend showing friend time later.” Human Twilight interrupting. “My friend needs help to use her phone when she’s around.” She placed the box on the table and showed it to everyone. When Microchips, Celery, Alizarin looked at the phone, they didn’t knew how experience it was. Sunset bought one of the latest phones with so many gigabytes installed for a lifetime of storage and the amount of features, Princess Twilight will get used to in time.
“This must be the pro version.” Microchips checked. “Looks like there’s a lot to set up.” He grabbed the box and begins to open it. He took out the styrofoam that’s protecting the phone from being damaged and placed the small manual out.
“Wow, that’s really a blunder that the latest phone, get such a small instruction book.” Princess Twilight staring at the manual in disbelief.
“Not really.” Alizarin picked up the book. “If you look at it closely, the words are so small every detail is in it. And one fourth of the manual has three other languages.”
The Princess Of Friendship couldn’t believe what she’s seeing. She is interested in any book she finds but she found some of the books in this world impossible to read. Not because the words are too small for her to require a magnify glass but the instructions are too complicated for her to concentrate.
“How about you don’t show her the instructions and help her to set it up?” Celery grabbing the book from Alizarin.
“Yes. She is a princess with vast intelligence, but not with technology.” Human Twilight giggled.
“Not to mention not a pro at this. Get it? Pro because the phone is also a pro?” Microchips laughing only to see his friends just staring at him. “Yeah, why do I even try?”
It took five minutes for Princess Twilight and her friends to set up her date of birth, her email and all the questions the princess needed to answer before doing anything in her phone. Once all of that is finished, the Princess Of Friendship looked at her screen. Not only there’s so many apps on her phone but the endless options she can do.
“If I actually live in this world all this time, I would still have a difficult time on how technology improved.” She commented.
“What, does time go fast in your world too?” Human Twilight giggled.
“It’s not that, I just don’t understand how any of you can do this kind of stuff.”
“Well don’t worry, if there’s anything your stuck on, you can text us and we’ll help you.” Microchips smiled.
“I think we should start texting before doing anything with your phone Twilight. I’ll put in all the phone numbers of our friends so you can contact them.” As Human Twilight took the phone from her counterpart, she put in all the phone numbers in the messenger app.
“I suggest you should text to Rainbow Dash since she’s not working right now.”
“Good idea.” The princess grabbing her phone from her counterpart. When she looked at her screen, she saw all twenty six letters of the alphabet with a space bar. After getting used to her hands after the fives times she entered the Mirror World, she knows how to use her fingers. She tab on the screen as she makes her first ever text message to her friends.
“So...what did you text to Rainbow?” Alizarin asked.
“It’s a long one, but I wanted Rainbow to understand.” Princess Twilight showed her screen to her friends as Microchips reads the text.
“Hey Rainbow Dash, it’s Twilight from Equestria and I’m finally using my phone! This is my first time texting someone and I’m gonna try the other apps later. Just letting you know when your ready to respond back.”
After hearing the message, both Celery and Alizarin begin to giggle. “Sorry, but you should not have technology confuse you.” Alizarin replied.
Twilight blushed. “It’s going to take a long time for me to understand technology.”
“Only time will tell.” Celery added.
“So...do I just...wait until Rainbow messages back?”
“Well, this is the same way you message to Sunset whenever you contact her with her book.” Human Twilight answered. “Rainbow Dash is probably skatingboarding at the moment and text messages only gives notifications, not a ringtone unless it’s a phone call.”
With the phone call now in her mind, it made the princess even more confused. Then a ding came from her phone which confused her, but this caught on with everyone else.
“Hey, it looks like Rainbow wants to facetime with you.” Microchips said.
“Facetime?” The princess blinked. When she saw the option to facetime, she tapped on the green button and less than two seconds, Rainbow is on the screen with her helmet on.
“Isn’t this awesome?” Rainbow grinned.
“Rainbow Dash?” Princess Twilight blinked again.
“Hey Twilight!”
“So, this is what facetime is like?”
“You’re seeing my face, so you’re right.”
Princess Twilight can now understand what facetime is, even if she needs to know how to use it. Despite how awkward it feels, she showed her lens from her phone to her friends.
“Hi Twilight!” Rainbow waved.
“Hey Rainbow, you still skateboarding?” Human Twilight guessed.
“Well I’m taking a break right now. Really great to see your friend back after three months.”
“Well she needed help with her phone and we’re about to get frozen yogurt soon.”
This made Rainbow Dash smile that Twilight is now using her phone. When it comes to the apps she has on her own phone, she is more interested to show the princess the apps she’s accustomed to.
“Hey Princess Of Friendship.” Rainbow smirked as Princess Twilight looked at her screen again. “Considering you finally unboxed your phone, how about I’ll show you the many options you can do?”
“Umm...no thanks, my friends will take care of that.” Princess Twilight making an awkward smile.
“Oh come on! You will be interested in voting, filters and even vlogging!”
With the amount of app options in her mind, Twilight became even more stressed, but Rainbow didn’t stop there.
“As a matter of fact, I’ll text our friends so they can show you the other apps they have.”
This caused Princess Twilight to drop her phone on the table. The impact of the sound caused almost all of the customers, even the girl at the cash register reacted as they turn their attention to the table. Princess Twilight looked around in more stress and embarrassment while her counterpart picked up the phone.
“Okay, facetime is over!” Human Twilight tab the red button on the screen, causing the facetime to end.
As for Rainbow Dash back at the skateboard park, she scratched on the back of her head. “Guess I’m never going to get over my adrenaline thrill when something like this happened.” She said to herself.
Back at the Frozen Yogurt Bar, Human Twilight and Microchips made sure that the princess’s phone isn’t damaged while Celery and Alizarin see the princess in embarrassment.
“Are you feeling alright?” Alizarin wondered until the princess got off her seat.
“I think I should get my frozen yogurt now.” Twilight retorted as she leaves the table. Human Twilight felt sad that her counterpart is feeling the stress from what Rainbow was doing. She can now understand why technology isn’t the princess’s thing.
Princess Twilight took one cup from the stack as she pours banana yogurt from the machines. She didn’t know what to do with her phone other then the text messages. As she heads to where the sprinkles are displayed, she notice the same girl with braces walked up to her.
“Am I banned because I caused a distraction?” Twilight replied.
“No, that sometimes happens in bars like this.” She happily said. “I’m Stella Sprinkles by the way.”
“Nice to meet you…again.” Twilight uses the spoon as she scroop the toppings for her yogurt. “I was using my phone for the first time, let’s just say I was overwhelmed before even an hour of usage.”
This made Stella laughed in amusement. “It’s only been ten minutes.”
“That’s my point, I don’t think I can keep myself calm while using it later.”
“You know, there are also games on your phone. While it is addictive, it also calms you down.”
“Games?” The princess looked at Stella.
When Princess Twilight headed back to the table with her cup of yogurt, she gives her phone to Stella Sprinkles. She went to the app store where most of the app games are located. As for Human Twilight and the others, they decide to get their own frozen yogurt since they’re happy to see the princess getting help from another friend.
Princess Twilight begins to eat her frozen yogurt and it made her satisfied. After the stress she dealt with, something cold and sweet always keep her mind off. Stella Sprinkles downloaded three app games that are free and she knows it will keep the princess clam.
“Here you go.” Stella placing the phone by Twilight. “If you need anything, just walk up to me and I’ll help.”
“No problem. The yogurt is really good.” Twilight smiled.
Stella accepted the feedback from the princess as she headed back to the register. At the same time, Human Twilight and the others return with their own frozen yogurts and sat by the table again.
“So I guess downloading app games was the only thing that could calm you down, right?” Human Twilight guessed.
“Hey, just because one of the famous websites like Haytube can put people in a good mood, doesn’t mean game apps are left out.” Microchips putting his spoon of yogurt into his mouth.
“True.” Both Alizarin and Celery commented.
“Well Stella is the type of person who’s a game app person I presume.” Princess Twilight replied. “I know I haven’t played those games yet, but maybe later.”
When the boys and girls continue to eat their yogurts, Twilight felt that her first message wasn’t a fair start with her phone. While it was only Rainbow Dash she messaged and facetimed with, she thinks she should text to someone else.
“Maybe I should text Applejack, even if she’s busy with Rarity.”
“Knock yourself out.” Microchips replied.
Princess Twilight stopped eating her yogurt and text Applejack. She wanted her to know she’s finally using her phone and is going to stay in this world for the day.
After fifteen minutes, Twilight and her friends finished their yogurt cups. Princess Twilight got the numbers from Microchips, Celery Stalk and Alizarin Bubblegum so she can text back to them. Just when she and her counterpart is about to leave, they walk up to Stella Sprinkles again. After Stella put the money in the cash register, she saw the Twilights looking at her.
“Are you leaving?” She wondered.
“Before we leave, can you give me your number?” The princess lift her phone to Stella. Stella didn’t expect Twilight to do anything for that kind of need.
“Why do you need my number?”
“Because you helped me from my stress. I didn’t play the game apps, but you gave me an understanding to use my phone in a calm and controlled way. Not sure if we’re going to meet again, but texting would do.”
Stella Sprinkles didn’t have a lot of friends to text. The fact that a girl who’s a princess who’s using her phone for the first time, made it a surprise to her. “Sure, thanks!” She borrowed the phone as she put her number in. After she’s done, she handed the phone back as she waves to the Twilights who are leaving.
The Twilights head outside while Princess Twilight checked on her phone but not long until her Human counterpart took the phone from her. “Careful! You never text or look at your phone while walking on the street.”
“I wasn’t going to do that.” The princess replied.
“Oh thank goodness. By the way, I think it was nice of you to ask to have her phone number.”
“Well she helped me. Also, my goal is to get all the phone numbers from all my friends who I missed and made. I know is crazy, but it will give my phone some use.”
“Seems like a plan to me.” Human Twilight handing back the phone to her princess friend. “So what do you want to do now?”
“Maybe we should find Rainbow Dash. I know she made me felt overwhelmed but you didn’t need to be hard on her.”
“Well we always go through this sometimes but yeah, I should apologize to her.”
Just before they head to the skateboard park, a truck from the other side of the road parked in front of the Twilights, much to their surprise. When the window is pulled down, it’s revealed to be Applejack in her Everfree uniform.
“Applejack?” Both Twilights responded.
“Howdy girls, happy to see you again Princess Of Friendship.” Applejack smiled. “I read your message and since it’s spring, I was wondering...Can I give you a tour in Equestria Land?”
Just when Princess Twilight was thinking about meeting Rainbow Dash, the words Equestria Land made her interested. “Wait you mean a place where the word Equestria is real in this world?” She blinked.
“Yes and I’m surprised it took you this long to find out.”
Human Twilight thought about it and decided to give her counterpart time with her friends instead of her, especially Applejack is the one Princess Twilight hang out the least.
“Go right ahead, You will enjoy Equestria Land!” Human Twilight opened the car door for her counterpart to head inside.
“Okay, see you later.”
“Don’t worry about me.”
As Princess Twilight jumped inside Applejack’s truck, Human Twilight closed the door. Applejack drives her vehicle to her destination where her fashionista friend is at, while dealing with a situation with her boss.
