MLP Comics: The Starblighter

It was a normal day in the city of Canterlot.

The citizens were going about their day, they were going grocery shopping? The sellers were selling to the citizens, students of Celestia’s school were reading at the library, chefs were preparing meals for their customers, and the wealthy were simply roaming about.

Throne Room...

Celestia was simply sitting on her throne, doing what she could for every appointment the citizens had with her.

“Thank you for your time, Fancy Pants,” Celestia said warmly with a smile.

“Of course your majesty, and thank you, too,” Said Fancy Pants as he left the room.

Celestia waited until he departed, and then she turned her attention to Raven.

“Is that everypony, Raven?”

“No your majesty, you have one more visit from your personal Advisor, Emerald Shine.”

“All right, send him in.”

The same unicorn from earlier, known as Emerald Shine, entered the throne room.

“Announcing Advisor Emerald Shine,” The guard proclaimed,

“Greetings your majesty,” Said the emerald unicorn.

“Hello Emerald Shine, What brings you to Canterlot this fine afternoon?” Celestia asked as she stood with her majestic wings flared.

“Your highness, I have made an interesting discovery this afternoon during my time in the Everfree Forest...” Emerald began.

“Oh?”

“Indeed, I was picking apples until a pack of Timberwolves were about to attack me, but then they fled from something of the most unusual sort...”

“I assure you Emerald, Timberwolves only run from creatures much bigger than they?” Celestia said with a kind smile.

“I am aware of that, Princess, but they didn’t flee from natural predators, they fled... from this.” Emerald Shine revealed the canister of the corruptive ooze from the cave earlier.

The ooze formed an eye of itself and looked upon Celestia.

Celestia looked at the ooze with curiosity, as of it seemed very familiar.

“Hm... This substance does seem familiar, Emerald, but where did you acquire it?”

“I retrieved a sample of it in a cave in the side of Rambling Rock Ridge Mountan. Yet, what was causing the growth of this substance is yet to be found it.”

“I see... Emerald, I want you to go to your lab and found out what you can about this substance. If this is a dangerous force we are dealing with, we must know how to retaliate immediately.”

“Yes your highness.”

Ponyville...

The villagers were going about their day, and Twilight’s friends were gathered for lunch at the Hayburger.

“So, What kinda situation do y’all think Twilight, Starlight and Spike are dealin’ with?” Asked Applejack.

“I’m not sure, but all I know is that it was important,” Said Rarity.

“Maybe it’s about upholding the Crystal funfair...” Said Fluttershy.

“Woah! That was gonna my guess, too!” Pinkie said.

“Well, whatever it is, it’s gonna real quiet around for us...” Rainbow said with a smile, but then she spoke too soon as a few birds and ladybugs passed by in a rush.

“Um, okay? Let me try that again, it’s gonna be really quiet around for us,” Rainbow said a little louder.

But it didn’t work as birds, ladybugs and parasprites flew by. Rainbow was annoyed.

“Aw come on Ponyville! What does it take for you to work with me here?”

“Even the parasprites are flyin’, but they ain’t stoppin’ to eat our food or houses,” Said Applejack in confusion.

“That is strange, but what is some pony just disturbed a nest or a hive?” Rarity asked.

“Or... something else?” Rainbow said as snakes, bunnies, squirrels, badgers and other small woodland creatures started running in a frightful manner.

“Animal Stampede!” Pinkie shouted.

“Ever pony inside!” Applejack shouted.

The ponies started clamoring and retreating into their homes and closing their shops.

The stampede started running through the village, being careful not to trip or run into any obstacles.

All the ponies watched as the stampede came through wildly.

“Why are all these animals passing through?” Applejack asked.

“Maybe you can ask them, Fluttershy?” Rarity asked the shy pegasus.

“Oh, o-okay...” Fluttershy peeked through a window and looked at all the creatures.

“Um, e-excuse me? May I please have a word?” Fluttershy asked a little loudly.

A squirrel came up to Fluttershy and chattered in a rush, but slow enough for Fluttershy to understand.

“Yes, uh-huh, yes, yes... Oh my...” Fluttershy said worriedly. The squirrel then ran after all the other animals.

“What did he or she say, Flutters?” Asked Rainbow.

“He says that a monster is hibernating close to the forest.”

“What kind of monster?” Applejack asked.

“I don’t know...”

“Uh... Girls?” Pinkie said nervously.

All heads turned to the party pony.

“I think we have a monster problem already...”

Suddenly, Timberwolves, Manticores, Cragadiles, Cockatrices, Chimeras and other medium creatures started running out of the forest.

“It’s an Everfree attack!” Pinkie cried.

Rainbow immediately rushed out of the house and got in front of the stampede of Everfree monsters.

“All right, monsters! You think you can-“ But Rainbow was cut off when literally all the Everfree creatures started running past her in a rush of fear. “Run by and... completely... ignore me?” Rainbow was now very confused. “Okay, something’s definitely going on...”

“So we’ve heard...” Said a voice. Rainbow and other ponies looked up to see Celestia and Luna landing on a roof, as well as an emerald unicorn teleporting next to them.

“Princess Celestia, Princess Luna! And pony I don’t know!” Rainbow said.

Emerald simply rolled his eyes in amusement.

“So what’s going on?”

“We were wondering the same thing actually, these creatures seem to be very afraid of something...” Celestia said.

Then, rumbling was heard, and then Hydras, Dragons and Ursa Minors with a few Ursa Majors were fleeing as well.

“Uh...?” Rainbow said nervously. However, just like the other animals and creatures, these massive ones were running in fear as well.

“What in the name of Equestria?”

“Hydras, Dragons, Ursa Minors and Majors? Why are every single one of these creatures running from the Everfree Forest?” Asked Rarity.

“Ah ain’t sure, but whatever they’re runnin’ from, they seem mighty frightened of it,” Said Applejack.

“Hm... Perhaps what we can do is figure out what they’re retreating from...” Said Emerald Shine.

“A good thought, Emerald, let us discover what these creatures are retreating from...” Said Luna.

The princesses and Celestia’s personal advisor went into the opposite direction of all these creatures.

The 5 also thought that they should follow as well.
