Shining Armor was a well known guard back at the crystal empire; that’s why it shocked everyone when they heard word that he was now being prosecuted by the kingdom of attempted slaughter. Who would have thought that after gaining the trust of the Princess of Love and even going as far as to marry her, Shining Armor attempted to assassinate the princess in her sleep while on their visit to Canterlot.
“Don’t let him escape!” Shouted Princess Luna, “He may have been the greatest general Equestria had ever seen but as of right now he’s an enemy of the kingdom”
The royal guard hesitated for a second at the command of their princess, but ultimately knew what had to be done. Still perplexed, and wishing on Celestia’s name that this was a dream Cadence couldn’t help but begin to sob as she saw the royal guards rush out of the castle in search of the now, Most Wanted person in Equestria.
“This can’t be happening,” sobbed Cadence, “this has to be a lie!”
“I’m afraid not dear Cadence,” interjected Celestia, “you saw him, you of all people know him better than any of us.”
“My Shining Armor…” tears began to roll down Cadence’s cheeks once again.
Luna and Celestia stood in silence while comforting the heartbroken princess. Soon enough that silence was interrupted by a frantic shout.
“I came as fast as I could!” Twilight stopped in her tracks and took a moment to read the environment, “um, princesses,” Twilight couldn’t help but notice the look of mortification that rarely adorned the princesses, “What happened to my brother? Is he okay…?”
The three princesses stood silent; a single tear ran down the oldest of the three, “your brother,” Celestia hesitated to respond, “your brother attempted to take the life of Cadence.” She finally added; even despite knowing that it was the truth the word felt alien to her own ears.
Twilight’s heart sank at the words, “I… I beg your pardon princess but… but are you sure that it was my brother?” Twilight’s brain scrambled as she attempted to find a logical explanation to what she had just heard, “I mean, it could have been Chrysalis, Yes! That must be it” Twilight began to fidget in anxiety. “There is no way my brother would try to-”
Celestia looked down at her pupil, “that could be a possibility but we need to capture your brother first to be sure of it.”
“Twilight!” Cadence approached Twilight, she grabbed the girl she loved to babysit and gave her a tight hug. Twilight began to shed tears as she hugged her sister in law, she knew how devastated the princess felt, the thought that the person she married had tried to harm her was enough to break Twilight’s own heart.
"No, I'm certain of it princess, I know my brother well and his love for Cadence is unrivaled. Chrysalis is the one behind of this!" Twilight stated.
Celestia turned to face Twilight, "I comprehend how you feel but we can't risk a war with Chrysalis if that isn't to be the ca-"
"You can't be serious Princess," Twilight interrupted, "This is my brother we are speaking of, your former royal guard, Cadence's Husband!"
"ENOUGH!" shouted Luna, "Twilight, you of most people should know the consequences of going to war with Chrysalis. if we are to attack and our assumptions are wrong what kind of message will it show our citizens? We will be no different than Sombra or Tirek."
Twilight stood silent as tear began to roll once again. Both sisters were right, attacking Chrysalis and having their assumptions be wrong, will show that the kingdom is nothing more than ruled by tyrants, specially after they had openly announced to the kingdom that they will not seek to start a war after the failed Changeling attack. Equestria was a diplomatic kingdom after all.
After mustering up the willpower to stop her tears from falling Twilight asked, “Does that mean that my brother is…” she couldn’t finish the sentence. She didn’t have to, soon enough Luna stated what everyone of them knew.
“There is no other alternative, as of now Shining Armor is a criminal to Equestria until we can prove otherwise.”

Shining Armor had a romantic attraction for Cadence since she had been hired to take care of his younger sister Twilight Sparkle. Whenever possible, Shining Armor will look for any excuse to get closer to Cadence in hopes of dating her. Years passed and Shining Armor had gotten married to Cadence and now, in the blink of an eye, all the love he felt for her suddenly had vanished. He didn’t see her as the love of his life anymore, instead as an obstacle in his way he had to get rid of. Now his heart belongs to someone else.
Far away from Canterlot, Shining Armor took refuge. He had been running away from the troops of Celestia for quite some time now without rest. He had lost them long ago but decided to continue on his run due to precautions.
“Dammit!” Shouted Shining Armor as he unmounted his horse, “He had to ruin it all! I could have been able to kill her if he hadn’t intervene. Dammit Elio!”
Shining Armor settled down his belongings he had prepared ahead of time to make a quick escape after killing the princess; he knew that he would not get far without proper equipment. Sadly for him, things didn’t go according to plan, he didn’t consider that Elio was going to be keeping guard in the corridors that lead to Cadence’s chambers.
Elio had been a great companion to Shining Armor in his years as Captain of Celestia’s Royal Guards. Him and Shining Armor had become great friends and had each other’s back in the battlefield. However, not even their friendship was enough to prevent Shining Armor to take Elio’s life, not before Elio had alerted the entire castle of the former captain’s actions.
“It’s a shame,” Shining Armor sighed, “and here I had seen you as a possible accomplice of mine, but oh well, I don’t need someone to hinder me on my goal.” Shining Armor began scanning the map. “Where is it, I know it should be somewhere south.” Shining Armor attempt on Cadence’s life wasn’t for any reason, in fact, it was just the beginning of his scheme.
“Here it is,” he said as he scanned the map for the direction he needed to travel. “I must find her as soon as possible,” Shining Armor spoke to himself as he got ready to proceed on his runaway, “I will reunite with you my love. I’m coming for you, Chrysalis.”

This is the beginning of a short romantic tragedy. I for one don't ship the characters above but I saw it as a good challenge to try do. Please let me know what you guys think of the work. Feedback is always welcomed.
