Team ABSL along with Nora Valkyrie landed safely near the ruins and were told to leave all their bags on the helijet. Before leaving Nora inspected all four bags like she was looking for something.

“ What are you doing Professor Valkyrie?” Lightning asked.

“ Just making sure none of you girls smuggled any cute critters with you,” Nora said.

“ Why would you think we would do something like that?” Akane asked.

“ I’ll tell you, girls, about it later but for now we have some ruins to investigate,” Nora said before leading the expedition. The girls hiked through what felt like miles of jungle watching Professor Valkyrie fend off any wildlife that would pose a threat. A few minutes later they arrived at what looked like an old temple built into the side of the mountain.

“ Are these the ruins we came to investigate?” Blanc asked.

“ Sure are but before we enter be warned we are now in Grimm territory so try and keep your emotions in check or they will attack us,” Nora said.

“ I’m not scared of them so bring them on,” Lightning said.

“ Lightning please take this seriously we came to investigate the ruins not pick a fight,” Akane said.

“ Whatever you say Princess but if they do attack I won,t hold anything back,” Lightning said. The girls lit some torches before entering the temple. As they kept walking Akane suddenly sensed something.

“ Everyone stop, “Akane shouted which caused everyone to stop.

“ Why are we stopping?” Lightning said annoyed.

“ Do you sense Something Akane?” Sapphire asked.

“ I smell brimstone and it’s coming from below us,” Akane said. After hearing what Akane said Nora found a pebble and threw it which activated a hidden trap door that leads to an underground volcano.

“ Good call Akane how did you know about that?” Nora asked.

“ I’m a wolf Faunus remember we canines have heightened senses making us good companions for huntresses,” Akane said, sparking a memory of something Professor Oobleck once said in Nora’s mind. Akane used one of her glyphs to keep the trap door shut as the group continued down the path which leads to a huge room. Akane noticed some strange writing on the wall ahead of them. Blanc also noticed and asked if anyone had a way to makes things brighter. Akane drew one of her swords and loaded a burn crystal into it causing it to ignite thus illuminating the room some more.

“ Will this work?” Akane asked.

“ That will do nicely,” Blanc said before looking at the writing. “ Those who seek the treasure of the Wolf Goddess be warned for it is protected by her loyal subjects. Only a wolf of noble birth may claim this treasure”

“ Any idea what that means?” Sapphire asked.

“ There’s a hidden treasure in this temple and only a special creature may claim it,” Blanc said before everyone stared at Akane.

“ Why is everyone staring at me like that?” Akane asked.

“ Oh, no reason, your highness,” Nora said emphasizing the last part.

“ Are you sure it’s a wise idea to go after this treasure?” Akane asked.

“ Why not we’re here and we just happen to have a Wolf from a rich family with us,” Nora said.

“ Since your leading the expedition we have no choice,” Akane said.

“ Great, Now Blanc where did you learn to decipher ancient text like that?” Nora said.

“ I always had a thing for archeology so I study up on every known culture I could find,” Blanc said.

“ Was there anything written there about how we can move on?” Lightning asked, getting excited.

“ It mentioned something about the three trials of the Wolf Goddess,” Blanc said.

“ And what is the first one?” Sapphire asked.

“ It did not say. The final sentence said “ To open the path that leads to what you seek you must silence the wolf that always shrieks,” Blanc said.

“ Well, I don,t hear anything?” Sapphire said before she saw Akane drop her sword and set a bunch of vines on fire. The vines all lead to a bunch of holes in the walls that suddenly illuminated the whole room revealing a bunch of Wolf statues with their mouths open.

“ Of course the ancients must have set up a secret way to light up the room way to go Akane,” Blanc said before noticing Akane looked like she was in pain.

“ That ringing please make it stop,” Akane pleaded.

“ Ringing?” Blanc said before she figured the riddle out. “ Girls I think I solved the riddle. One of these statues is emitting a high pitch frequency and only Akane is hearing it,” Blanc said.

“ Akane can you sense where it is coming from?” Nora asked. Akane pointed towards a wolf statue with a moon symbol on it. Blanc reached inside the statue’s mouth and hit a switch that stopped the sound and opened the way forward.

“ Thank you, Blanc, a few more seconds and I would have bailed from this mission,” Akane said.

“ Stay strong Akane we need you for this mission,” Nora said.

“ Well let’s get moving, these trails won’t solve themselves,” Lightning said before everyone proceeded. As soon as they left the room a mysterious woman wearing a kimono with a katana strapped to her side appeared out of the shadows and quietly followed them. Akane sensed where the traps were and used her glyphs to protect everyone.

“ You're starting to get very good with those Akane,” Nora said.

“ Thank my mom for drilling it into me for two days straight,” Akane said. As soon as they finished talking they arrived in a room that was full of lava and holes in different places on the ceiling. It looked like they reached a dead end and all they found in the room was a pipe organ with an open music book. Blanc saw some writing by the door and read what it said.

“ The first Trail. The Trial of the royal melody. Play the Melody that puts the queen to rest and you shall pass this test,” Blanc said.

“ Anyone here an expert on music?” Nora asked.

“ Leave it to me,” Sapphire said as she took a seat at the organ and began playing. As soon as Akane heard the notes she began to feel like she knew this song. Suddenly Sapphire stopped after coming to a part where the rest of the song was torn out of the book. Sapphire decided to try and figure it out on her own and when she hit the wrong note arrows were shot out of the holes on the ceiling. Akane used her glyphs to block them while telling Sapphire to not give up. Sapphire kept going and despite failing three times now never gave up. Akane suddenly had an idea.

“ Sapphire try following along with my singing,” Akane said before singing. ♫ Little Wolf of mine why are you so red? Maybe because you're tired from fighting all who may harm you. My heart I will happily offer to you. Little Wolf of mine rest your weary eyes and tomorrow will be better than today. ♫ After Akane and Sapphire finished the song the lava began to drain and a secret passageway leading down was revealed.

“ How did you know that song?” Sapphire asked.

“ My dad sang it to me all the time when I was little,” Akane said. Meanwhile back in the previous room the same lady who hid in the shadows came out and went into the secret passage before leaping back into the shadows. As they kept walking they noticed there were no traps in this passage and made it to the second room which had them standing on a cliff. On the other side of the room was a huge drawbridge. Blanc noticed the writing and did her part.

“ The second Trial. The trial of Accuracy. To get across the abyss you must nail the target and be sure not to miss,” Blanc said.

“ This sounds like a job for me,” Akane said as she switches bloody fang to bow mode.

“ Are you sure you can make a shot that far out?” Nora asked.

“ Just watch,” Akane said as she drew her bow back and fired. The arrow looked like it was about to hit the target until an updraft suddenly sent it upwards.

“ I should have guessed this wasn’t going to be easy,” Lightning said. Akane tried again and this time her arrow was blown away to the left.

“ You sucks at this Akane,” Lightning said.

“ I do not. I calculated my trajectory perfectly that should have been a clean shot,” Akane said.

“ It’s not your trajectory that’s the problem, it's those air vents they are shifting your shot,” Blanc said after studying them.

“ So what do you think we should do?” Sapphire asked.

“ I noticed that those vents go off five seconds of each other. So they blow in one direction for five seconds and then all four stop for five seconds. So the key is to strike within that five-second window where there is no wind blowing,” Blanc theorized. Akane prepared her shot and waited for Blanc to give her the signal to fire. As soon as the last vent started blowing Blanc told Akane to fire and as soon as the last vent stopped blowing the arrow successfully landed and the bridge was lowered. As soon they crossed they arrived in the third room which four different doors each with a different moon design on them. Blanc found the writing and did her thing.

“ The Third Trial. The Trial of Memory. To find the treasure that you desire you must find the correct door or you will be set on fire,” Blanc said.

“ Any idea what that meant?” Nora asked.

“ We need to think back on everything we just went through. Maybe one of those puzzles has a clue to which door we should open,” blanc said. The girls all thought back to every part of the temple they went through until Akane remembered something.

“ I remember that first room with the shrieking wolf statue it had a moon pattern carved on to it,” Akane said.

“ Of course that moon symbol wasn't just for decoration it was a clue for this trail. Do you remember what it looked like?” Blanc asked.

“ I remembered it was red with a gold die next to it. Blanc opened the door with the exact symbol on it and saw an open passageway with no traps inside. As soon as the girls made it into the treasure chamber they saw a golden necklace on a pedestal.

“Let's get that necklace and get out of here,” Lightning said before trying to rush in only to be pulled by her wing.

“ Hold it we can’t just grab it and go we need to think carefully,” Blanc said.

“ What is there to think about? we arrived and the treasure is right there,” Lightning pointed out.

“ Yes, but you weren't paying attention to the thing I read. Only a wolf of noble birth can claim the treasure and last time I checked you're not a wolf you're a pegasus,” Blanc pointed out.

“ Then I suppose you're better suited to fetching it?” Lightning asked.

“ Not me either. Sapphire, Professor Valkyrie, and I are human so that just leaves Akane,” Blanc said. Akane walked up to the pedestal and looked like she was defusing a bomb.

“ Relax Akane you're the only one that can do this,” Nora said. After snatching the necklace Akane was expecting a giant boulder or something to roll at them but was relieved to see nothing happened. As soon as she reunited with the others a voice suddenly spoke.

“ I commend you on being able to solve the riddles and claim the treasure,” The woman said as she rose out of the shadow she was hiding in.

“ Who are you and how are you doing that?” Lightning asked while gripping her weapon.

“ I'm Ivy Mossdeep relic thief extraordinaire and what we're witnessing is my semblance which allows me to manipulate and hide in the shadows of anything I wish,” Ivy said, confusing Lightning on the second part.

“ What did you say you can do?” Lightning asked.

“ Not only can she control and change the shape of shadows she can also become them by going inside them,” Blanc clarified.

“ Exactly. And as I was saying good job claiming the lost necklace of the wolf queen. Now hand it over before someone gets hurt,” Ivy said.

“ No one is handing anything over to you Ivy because you are under arrest,” Nora said as she flashed her license at her. Ivy used her semblance to bind the girls and take the necklace from Akane. As soon as Ivy touched it a whole pack of Bio Wolves filled the room.

“ Bio Wolves? Where did they come from? We haven't had a single negative emotion?” Lightning asked.

“ I don't think they are here because of that. They must be the queen’s loyal subjects. As soon as Ivy touched the necklace they must have sensed their queen was in danger,” Blanc said.

“ Like a bunch of Grim will stop me from getting that necklace,” Ivy said only to be scratched by one and have her semblance interrupted. One of the Biowolves threw Akane on their back and ran off with her back the way the group came with Nora and the others following. As they were running all the traps went off and the Bio Wolf sustained some heavy injuries. Before dying the wolf safely allowed Akane and her friends to leave the temple before it collapsed.

“ Thank you, Bio Wolf I will never forget your sacrifice,” Akane said before feeling something going on with her glyphs. A glyph appeared and generated a white copy of a Bio Wolf.

“ That Bio Wolf’s sacrifice must have meant something to you if you're now able to summon it,” Nora said.

“ So what now do we return to Beacon and hand the Wolf Queen’s necklace over to the Museum?” Akane asked.

“ Normally that would be how missions like this go but since that Necklace has a curse on it that will call forth an army of Bio Wolves if anyone touches it. It would be best to let you keep it since you're the only one that can wear it without putting everyone in danger,” Nora said.

“ Thank you, Professor Valkyrie,” Akane said. As soon as the group returned to Beacon they noticed some of the other first-years made it back as well. Professor Oscar greeted them as soon as they entered.

“ I trust the mission was a success?” Oscar asked.

“ It sure was. Team ABSL performed greatly,” Nora said.

“ And I see you found the relic hidden in the temple ruins,” Oscar said.

“ Sure did we even got into a fight with a relic thief named Ivy Mossdeep,” Lightning said.

“ Any idea what became of her?” Oscar asked.

“ She tried to steal the necklace from me and caused an army of Bio Wolves to show up but knowing that semblance of hers we probably haven't seen the last of her,” Akane said.

“ Then it's best not to put this in a museum,” Oscar said.

“ So I really can keep it?” Akane asked.

“ Just remember to keep it locked up tight when you take it off,” Nora said. After receiving a passing grade for accomplishing their mission Akane and her friends went back to their room to rest.

Meanwhile back at the ruins, a shadow came out through the crevices of the debris and Ivy came out looking beat up and covered in claw and bite marks.

“ You have not seen the last of me Team ABSL,” Ivy shouted to the heavens.
