“Are you for real? Again!?” The human shouted the moment she entered her room. It was a small apartment in Manehattan, but functional. It had a shower, bathroom, the kitchen, a service room, a small balcony outside the single large bedroom, and a spacious living room. Jessica grunted but said nothing else. She limited herself to just pick Silk’s things and toss them, rudely so, to her roommate. “Sometimes I wonder why I came to Equis at all.”
“You’re more than welcome to return to your planet. You’d be doing us a huge favor,” Silk replied.
“Land of Friendship and Harmony? Yeah, my ass. And trust me, if it weren’t for the great exchange rate from bits-to-dollars my sister gets back on Earth I would’ve left a long time ago. At least I wouldn’t have to deal with your lazy ass anymore,” Jessica scoffed while she started to undress.

Time stopped for a moment after the last insult was said. And in the next moment, the sound of a heavy, hard slap echoed in the bedroom.
Silk, eyes wide, could only touch her burning cheek in confusion. Her head turned to face a red-faced, angry Jessica glaring death onto her.
