//-------------------------------------------------------// Dark Souls : The forgotten lands of Equestria -by Nimbus Bolt- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue It all started in Equestria, this land had once been lush and plentiful in friendship and life. Everyday the sun came up and brought light upon the land, And every night the moon rose up and created a peaceful environment for all. The land of Equestria being ruled by it's fair Princesses, Celestia the princess of the sun, And Luna the princess of the moon. All who lived in this land were great friends, and there was a long lasting peace, But not all is meant to stay as is...The dragon's grew tired of the ponies long rule of friendship and peace, the dragons raged war upon the neighboring lands of Equestria and the ponies had no choice but to pursue this violent action...the war of dragons lasted many years, resulting in bloodshed between both sides. No pony could see this conflict ending anytime in the far future, the princesses, desperate to find some key to victory in this almost eternal war, sent out their most brave and noble warriors out into the land to find a way to end the conflict. The six warriors left their duties to perform this task, as it was their home and they knew it was important for it to be victorious. First, was Rarity the Cleric, A noble and intelligent mare who had let the clergy in search of a greater purpose. Second, was Rainbow Dash the Knight, A Brave and Loyal knight, and lord of the city of clouds, Clouds dale. Third, was Fluttershy the Pyromancer of the Everfree forest, She protected the wildlife with her caring and warm flame. Forth, Applejack the herald of the farmlands of ponyville, she left her duties on the farm to find a way to end this war for her family and their farm. Fifth, Pinkie Pie the thief coming from a bakery in the ponyville settlements, She spent her life thieving to survive in the settlement. And the last was Twilight Sparkle the Sorcerer born in the city of Canterlot, She was the wisest of the sorcerer's in her lifetime, she was also the heir to the throne if something was to become of the princesses. These six mares embarked on a noble quest to save their land from the invading dragon armies. The six fought many beasts and conquered many foes through out their quest, but sadly after many months of searching they found nothing that could solve the conflict. The six returned to the city of Canterlot to tell the princesses of their empty hoofed quest, the princesses sent them away to the outside of Canterlot to await any final commands, it's said the princesses were silent for seven long days, not speaking to anypony outside of the castle. Ponies outside the castle began to doubt if winning this eternal battle was even an option, there were many who spoke of a foreseeable loss ahead...and quite possibly, the end of their kind as a free species. All the ponies were surprised however when on the seventh day the princesses spoke again and showing their faces among the crowds, The princesses sent the six out on what all thought would be their final quest. Their quest was to estinquish the sun and take away the only thing that would keep the day going, what kept the war from never ending...the precious day. The six mares headed to the outskirts of Equestria and went to the top of the flaming mountain, a mountain residing in the Dragon lands, so high, that it was said you could touch the glorious sun from the top. The six destroyed many Dragons along the way, almost dying in their quest. Upon many months of traveling through Equestria and through the Dragon lands, the six mares made it to the top of the flaming mountain. The Dragon Lord stood on the mountain's top making sure the six's quest would fail to be completed, the Dragon Lord was vanquished by the six mare's fabled power of friendship. Once un-distracted the mare's sat in a circle and reached out to the rising sun, the once bright sun began to fade into six separate flames, each of the mares took one for themselves and left for their home in the dark of day. The six returned home to find nothing but forgotten and worn down buildings, the once lush trees withering away as if they've been put in the harsh winter elements, the once green grass now gray like ash, the only source of light left was the great big moon beaming in the sky. The mares reached an agreement to return to their homes and protect their flames, for all eternity, never to let the sun return. Lady Rarity returned to Canterlot to reside in the church she once studied in, Fluttershy returned to the forest protecting the animals she cared for so dearly. Applejack returned to her farm to keep the harvest going that she once cared about so dearly, Pinkie Pie went back to her bakery home in the old Ponyville settlement. Lord Rainbow Dash went back to the city of Clouds dale to continue her reign, Twilight Sparkle also went to Canterlot, to take her roll as Princess of Equestria, she sits on her throne counting down the days of the eternal darkness. And as it was said, The land of the Equestria sank into an eternal darkness, The land now dead and lifeless in some aspects, And the great city of Canterlot now covered in a thick layer of clouds created by the city of Clouds Dale, And the husks of the once friendly inhabitants of the land, turned bitter and soulless towards the sun and what it could bring, one thousand years have passed since those final days of brightness and the lush landscape. The six lords of the sun still sit in their homes protecting what is left of hope for this land. But it was said a chosen warrior would rise from the dead lands of Equestria, and bring back the sun...
