Chapters Celestia went to the School for gifted unicorn school to see how the unicorns were doing. Today was a special day for the princess of day. Today she was going to get a student. Celestia wouldn’t have a student just to teach, she would talk with him, keep him company and be with him in good and bad times. Celestia was passing through the doors of each room and all the unicorns were doing well in the tests that were given, however Celestia couldn’t see the spark in them. She didn’t want to think that the unicorn foals weren’t talented enough, just that she couldn’t see the foal and think, “That one has potential.” But so far, no pony was catching her eye.
Celestia looked into a room and saw a yellow unicorn filly with yellow and red mane and Cutie Mark of a red and yellow sun making a potted plant grow with its magic. Celestia couldn’t help but agree that she loved the colors of the filly, especially the Cutie Mark. Celestia approached the filly. The filly was smiling with pride. The judges were obviously surprised. “Sunset Shimmer.”
Sunset Shimmer looked ahead and saw Celestia. “Princess Celestia! Did you see me make the plant grow?”
Celestia smiled. “Yes, I did, Sunset Shimmer. I must admit, I have never seen a filly have so much magic to make a plant grow, especially at its age.”
“What can I say? I have great potential.” Sunset Shimmer’s proud smile didn’t waver.
Celestia couldn’t help agreeing with what Sunset Shimmer said. Most of the school foals here didn’t even pass the tests, it seemed that Sunset Shimmer was the only one who did. It was like fate had sent it to her. “Sunset Shimmer, would you like to be my student?”
Sunset Shimmer was surprised. “Me? Become a student of a princess of Equestria?”
Celestia laughed a little. “Yes Sunset, do you accept?”
Sunset Shimmer’s proud smile returned. “Of course I do.”
Luna watched the moon in the sky on her balcony, she had a sad face. Luna didn’t understand why no pony admired her work. She works so hard for everypony to enjoy, and yet… no one stays awake. If only Luna had somepony who liked her night. She would do anything to get somepony to come to her and said, “Luna, how I love your night.” Even if it was for a single night, it would already be cheering her up. Luna got up and decided to go to the dining room to eat, since it was night now.
Sunset Shimmer couldn’t help but deny that she loved the castle. She was never at the castle and it made her feel like a princess. Sunset Shimmer wondered if she was going to live here. “Princess Celestia.”
Celestia looked at Sunset Shimmer. “Yes, my dear student?”
“Am I going to live in this castle with you?”
“You will be here from Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays and Sundays you will be with your family,” said Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer looked a little sad, but she tried to understand. “I understand, Princess Celestia.”
Celestia opened a door with her magic. Sunset Shimmer sighed in surprise. “This is your room, Sunset.”
Sunset Shimmer entered the room, still in awe. The bedroom wall was orange in color, with a bed with a red blanket, white pillow and brown desk. Sunset Shimmer put her backpack on the bed. “Did you like the room?”
Sunset Shimmer looked at Celestia with a smile. “I loved it, Princess Celestia.”
“I’m happy Sunset, Now let’s go to the dining room to eat something?” asked Celestia.
“Yes Princess.”
Luna was in the dining room alone and was blowing her soup because it was still hot. She wondered where Celestia was. Door noise was heard, Luna looked at the door and saw Celestia with Sunset Shimmer. Luna didn’t know why Celestia had a filly in the castle, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t tolerate it. Celestia and Sunset Shimmer approached the table to be seated. Celestia sat on the left side of Luna and Sunset Shimmer on the right side of her mentor. Luna put the spoon back in the soup and decided to talk to Sunset Shimmer. “Hi Sunset Shimmer, my name is Luna.”
Sunset Shimmer looked at Luna and ascended. “Hi, Princess Luna,” Sunset Shimmer looked at Celestia. “Princess, is Luna your sister?”
“Yes Sunset, do you have a brother or sister?”
“No, princess.”
Sunset Shimmer took the spoon and started eating the soup on the table. Celestia watched her student eat before she started eating too.
After they finished eating, Sunset Shimmer left the room. Celestia accompanied Sunset Shimmer. Luna could only watch sadly the two leave. Why would all foals prefer Celestia to her? Wasn’t she maternal and good enough for the foals? Luna felt like crying.
“Is everything okay, princess?”
Luna looked to the left and saw a waiter looking at her with concern. Luna tried to smile, but failed. “I am fine. Please leave me alone.” Luna got up from the chair and headed for the door with the intention of going to the bedroom to cry. Luna didn’t understand why it was her sister who received the subjects’ attention. Several years have passed and nothing has changed. Luna opened her bedroom door, went in and threw herself on the bed to cry until her sadness was gone.
After about two hours, Luna managed to stop crying and decided to go on the balcony. She expected to see some house light on, and they were all out. More tears started to come out of her eyes. But the tears stopped coming when Luna saw the School for gifted Unicorn with light. Luna smiled hopefully. Could it be that foals were making tests at this time of night? And if so, could she find a foal? Hopefully, Luna spread her wings and headed for the school. As she flew, Luna noticed that there was only one light on, as if there was only one foal at school. Upon landing, Luna entered the school.
“Princess Luna! What brings you to Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorn?” asked the receptionist.
Luna looked at the mare. “I came here to take a look at how things are here, subject.”
“Oh. Would you like to adopt a student like Princess Celestia?” she asked.
Luna’s ears cheered when she heard that phrase. This mare was telling Luna that she could adopt a student? She could only be dreaming. “Really? Can I have a student?”
“Of course you can, princess,” replied the receptionist. “If Princess Celestia does, I see no reason why you don’t have one too.”
A smile appeared on Luna’s face. “How many foals are still here?”
The mare took a piece of paper to read the names of the foals who entered the school. “Not many. Most have already gone home to sleep.”
Luna was saddened by the last sentence. “Who’s still here, subject?”
“Just a filly, princess,” replied the mare.
Luna tried to cheer herself up. “What’s her name?”
“Trixie Lulamoon.”
Luna couldn’t help but deny that she loved that name especially the surname. She really wanted to meet this filly. “Where’s she? Where’s she?” Luna asked excitedly as if she were a filly wanting to know where the birthday present is.
“Follow me, princess.” The receptionist left where she was and started showing the way, Luna followed.
“Subject, what’s Trixie like?” ssked Luna.
“She’s talented, princess. She knows a lot of magic tricks and loves to show off her skills,” replied the mare.
“Does she have a Cutie Mark?”
“Yes. Her Cutie Mark is a crescent moon with a magic wand.”
Luna stopped walking when she heard the word “Moon.” She was surprised and happy. Did a filly have a Cutie Mark from a moon? This filly could be the perfect student for her, she just needed this pony to love the night, but of course this is something Luna shouldn’t expect, as much as things went their way, Luna knew that most ponies would prefer the day than their night.
“We’re here, Princess.” Luna looked at the mare before looking into the room. Luna saw Trixie doing several magic tricks.
“Trixie please, turn that plant into something!” shouted one of the judges already angry.
“But Trixie wants to show her skills! Mom said I would be a student of Princess Celestia!”
“Yes Trixie, but how do we know if you are worth it to be a student of Princess Celestia if you don’t even take the test?! And besides, we’ve been with you for hours and so far no progress and I want to go home!”
“Don’t worry, you’ll be going home.”
The jurors and Trixie looked back and saw Luna. Luna walked over to Trixie. The judges were surprised to see Luna, but Trixie was happy. “Princess Luna! Did you see Trixie do all these magic tricks?”
“Unfortunately I just arrived,” Trixie was sad. “But I have something to offer you.”
Trixie perked up in the blink of an eye. “Really? Which is? Which is?”
“Trixie, I see that you have great potential and are very good with your magic,” began Luna.
“Yes princess, Mom told Trixie that she was destined for great things,” said Trixie with a cute look.
Luna couldn’t help but smile when she saw Trixie’s smile. She’s very cute! I want to have Trixie as my daughter and have her just for me!
“So Princess Luna, what do you have to offer Trixie?”
“Would you like to be my student, Trixie?”
Trixie’s pupils got really big. Trixie certainly didn’t expect that question. Luna was sad for a moment and thought that Trixie wouldn’t accept.
“Trixie accepts to be your student!” shouted Trixie, cheerfully.
Luna felt like crying for joy. “Really? Do you really want?”
“Of course Trixie wants it, Princess!”
Luna grabbed Trixie with her magic to hug her, the filly was surprised to have been hugged. “Thank you, thank you, Trixie! You will see, I will be a great teacher for you!”
Trixie smiled. “Trixie is happy that the princess of the night is her teacher.”
Celestia woke up very early to raise the sun, she just hoped that Luna wouldn’t be long to go to lower the moon. Celestia went to the balcony to wait for Luna, she wondered if her sister would be take so long. Celestia heard footsteps and saw Luna approach with a smile. Celestia noticed Luna’s smile and was curious. “Luna, why are you smiling?”
“I’m in a good mood today, sister,” replied Luna. “Only that.”
Celestia didn’t buy that. “Luna, I know you’re lying. What are you hiding from your older sister?”
“But it’s true Celestia,” replied Luna. “Why do you doubt me?”
“Luna, you’re usually sulky and not in the mood for conversation,” replied Celestia. “Did something happen that I still don’t know?”
“Imagine Sister, why do you think that?” asked Luna.
“Luna, you’re hiding something from me and I will find out, but first we will focus on our real duties,” said Celestia.
“Sure, sister.” Luna lowered the moon, the rope in the sky changed from dark blue to light blue, then Celestia raised the sun.
Celestia looked at Luna. “Now Sister, you’re going to tell me what you are hiding.”
Luna looked at Celestia, she didn’t know if she should tell. “I’m not hiding anything, Celestia.”
Celestia came out of the balcony. Luna let out a breath when Celestia was far away.
Trixie woke up in a good mood today, she got out of bed and left the room. Trixie wondered if Luna was already waiting for her in the dining room, she hoped so. Trixie still couldn’t believe she was a student of Princess Luna. At first, she wanted to be a student of Princess Celestia, but after seeing Luna it seemed that her admiration went to Luna. Maybe it’s because Trixie always liked the night, she was very lucky to have gone for the test during the night, if Trixie hadn’t come at night, she wouldn’t even have been a student of the princess of the night.
Trixie opened the dining room door with her magic and saw Luna, Celestia and… “Sunset Shimmer!”
Sunset Shimmer looked at the door and saw Trixie, she smiled. “Trixie!” Sunset Shimmer went to Trixie to hug. Sunset Shimmer noticed something. “Wait a moment. Trixie, what are you doing here?”
“Trixie is a student of Princess Luna,” said Trixie.
At the table, Celestia looked at Luna. “So this is what you were hiding from me. Luna, why didn’t you tell me that you adopted a student too?”
“I thought you wouldn’t like the idea of me having a student, sister,” said Luna.
“Luna, you know that I don’t need to be the only one to have a student. You can also have a student too,” said Celestia.
“Really, sister?”
“Really, Luna.”
Celestia and Luna hugged each other. Sunset Shimmer and Trixie approached the table to eat.
After they finished eating, Sunset Shimmer was taken to the garden to begin her classes. Celestia and Sunset Shimmer were in the garden of the statues.
“Sunset, are you ready for your class today?” asked Celestia.
“Of course I’m ready!” smiled Sunset Shimmer proudly. “What spell will I learn?”
“Teleportation,” replied Celestia. “Do you know how to do it?”
Sunset Shimmer tried to use her magic to teleport, but failed. Sunset Shimmer tried again but failed.
“Sunset, you must use a lesser amount of magic,” said Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer looked at Celestia and tried again, but her horn started to hurt a lot. Tears came out of her eyes. “Princess, I can’t do it!”
“Sunset, don’t be discouraged. You will be able to teleport one day, your magic hasn’t developed well yet,” said Celestia.
Sunset Shimmer looked around and didn’t see Luna and Trixie. “Where’s Trixie and Princess Luna?”
“Trixie’s classes are only at night, Sunset,” replied Celestia. “Since Luna is the princess of the night, it gives Trixie and her a benefit.”
“But why are Trixie’s classes are only at night?” asked Sunset Shimmer.
“Luna is the princess of the night, Sunset,” replied Celestia. “And Luna sleeps during the day and stays up at night.”
“But where’s Trixie, Princess Celestia?”
“I don’t know Sunset, maybe she must be somewhere in the castle,” said Celestia.
A royal guard went to Celestia and bowed. “Princess, they need you in the throne room.”
“I’m going. You can return to your post,” Celestia looked at Sunset Shimmer. “Sunset, I need to go to the throne room now. Can you be okay alone?”
Sunset Shimmer looked sad. “Princess, can’t i just sit by your side on the throne?”
“Sunset, you wouldn’t understand politics. Why don’t you have fun with your friend Trixie?”
“But I don’t even know where she is, Princess Celestia!”
“Ask one of my royal guards,” replied Celestia. “I’m sure one of them will answer where Trixie is.”
Sunset Shimmer watched Celestia leave. Sunset Shimmer wanted to do keep company to your mentor in the throne room. Sunset Shimmer sadly left the garden. When Sunset Shimmer entered the castle, she went looking for Trixie. Sunset Shimmer wondered where her friend was. Sunset Shimmer looked around, but she didn’t see Trixie anywhere.
“Do you need anything, Sunset Shimmer?”
Sunset Shimmer looked up and saw a royal guard. “How do you know my name?”
“The princess told me that she had a student at the castle, and when I saw you, I thought you would be her student,” said the royal guard.
The unicorn filly was nothing more than confused. “But shouldn’t you just serve Princess Celestia?”
“Yes, but Princess Celestia said that in case you needed something when she was busy, we guards could help you,” replied the royal guard. “Anyway, do you need anything?”
Sunset Shimmer liked the sound of that, she felt like a princess. “Yes, I would like to know where Trixie is.”
“Trixie is in her room,” replied the royal guard. “Would you like me to take you to her bedroom door?”
As much as Sunset Shimmer wanted to make it on her own, Sunset Shimmer knew that if she did, she knew it would get lost in the castle because today was her second day in the castle. “Yes.”
The royal guard started walking, Sunset Shimmer followed him. Sunset Shimmer felt that she was a princess because a guard was doing what she wanted. A thought came to her, did Celestia intend to make her a princess? As she walked, Sunset Shimmer was trying to memorize the path.
“We’re here, Sunset.” The royal guard stopped at a brown door. Sunset Shimmer opened it and saw Trixie doing magic tricks while wearing a purple magician hat with stars. Sunset Shimmer was surprised, meanwhile, the royal guard was leaving.
Sunset Shimmer approached Trixie. “Trixie, what are you doing?”
“Trixie is doing magic tricks with her magician hat,” replied Trixie.
“Where’s Princess Luna, Trixie?” asked Sunset Shimmer.
“Princess Luna is sleeping.”
Sunset Shimmer was confused. “But aren’t you going to have class today?”
“Luna told Trixie that she would have classes only in the night,” replied Trixie. “Trixie is lucky to have Luna as a teacher.”
“Are you saying that Luna does better as a teacher than Celestia?” asked Sunset Shimmer, with a possible tone of anger.
“Yes. Trixie is saying that Luna does better as a teacher,” replied Trixie. “She even told Trixie that she would teach me about constellations, and that we would take night walks together, we would be in the bedroom together...”
Sunset Shimmer was gaping at the last sentence. Did Trixie take night classes while Sunset Shimmer took classes during the day and would Trixie learn other things besides magic? Why couldn’t Sunset Shimmer be happy for Trixie? What was that feeling that she felt?
“Sunset? Is everything okay?” asked Trixie.
Sunset Shimmer noticed that she looked irritated. “Yes, Trixie, I’m fine.”
“Trixie isn’t sure. You looked angry and Trixie knows something is bothering you. Come on, tell Trixie how you feel. Tell,” said Trixie.
“Trixie, I’m fine, really.” Sunset Shimmer took a few steps back in an attempt to leave the room.
“Come on, tell Trixie.”
“No, Trixie. I won’t tell.” Sunset Shimmer grits her teeth.
Trixie noticed Sunset Shimmer’s angry look, she got a little scared and took a few steps back. “OK. Trixie will respect you.”
Sunset Shimmer’s angry look changed to a smile. “Thank you, Trixie. Did I ever say that you are my best friend?”
Trixie’s frightened expression changed to a smile too. “Yes. Sometimes.”
When Luna woke up, she headed towards where she and Celestia stayed to raise and lower the sun and moon. Celestia was already there waiting for Luna.
“Luna! Did you sleep well?” asked Celestia.
“Yes sister, I can’t wait to teach Trixie,” said Luna.
Celestia began to use her magic to keep the sun down on the horizon. As the sun went down, the sky turned orange and yellow. When the sun went down completely, Luna raised the moon and the sky changed to dark blue and then stars appeared. Luna took the opportunity to add some constellations too, when she finished it was looking for Trixie.
Luna started looking around. “Trixie! Trixie! Where are you?”
“Now, watch the great and powerful Trixie do unbelievable tricks for pony eyes!”
Luna started to hear the sound of fireworks. Luna started searching all the rooms to see if her student was in one of the rooms, but each time she opened a door, she expected to see Trixie but her student wasn’t s there. Luna was starting to get worried. Where would Trixie be? Luna saw Trixie’s bedroom door and opened it, she saw Trixie wearing a cape and a magician’s hat and doing various magic tricks. Luna smiled. Despite wanting to just watch, Luna knew she had to teach magic for Trixie. “Trixie.”
Trixie looked at the door and saw Luna. “Hi, Princess Luna.”
“Hi, Trixie. Let’s go to the garden to start your Night classes,” said Luna.
“It’s already night? How fast it went.” Trixie smiled nervously.
“Yes. Follow me, Trixie.” Luna started walking.
“Wait!” Luna looked back. “Can I continue to wear my cape and hat of magician?”
Luna smiled. “I don’t see why not.”
When they arrived in the garden, Trixie asked, “Princess Luna, what are you going to teach me today?”
“Teleportation, Trixie,” replied Luna. “Can you teleport?”
“Trixie never tried to teleport. But Trixie can try.” Trixie carried her magic to teleport, and managed to teleport a little far from Luna. Trixie was very happy. “Trixie did it! Trixie did it!”
Luna went to Trixie with a smile. “Very well, Trixie. Now, let’s start with your astronomy classes. I hope you’re excited.”
Trixie started to jump where she was. “Trixie is very excited! Trixie loves your night!”
Luna was surprised by the last sentence. “Do you ... do you love my night?”
“Of course Trixie loves your Night princess. Trixie is even wearing a magic cape and hat that has stars.” Trixie spun around to show off her cape and hat.
Luna was surprised by this because she never noticed that the cape and hat had stars on them, she could feel tears streaming from her eyes. “Never ... never has anypony loved my night... you are the first to tell me that love my night.”
“Has anypony never loved your night, princess?” Trixie looked at Luna sadly. “But your night is beautiful.”
“I know Trixie, but most ponies prefer Celestia’s day to my night,” Luna started to cry. “I don’t understand Trixie, why does everypony always prefer Celestia? Am I not good and motherly with enough foals?”
“I don’t think so, Princess Luna,” Trixie hugged Luna with her front hooves. “For Trixie, you’re more motherly than Celestia.”
Luna smiled, although there were still tears in her eyes. “Really? Do you think I play a better role as a mother than my sister?”
“Sure. You treat Trixie as if she were your daughter,” replied Trixie, “and Trixie loves your motherly way.”
Luna wiped the tears away with a hoof. “I’m glad you think that, Trixie. I thought you saw Celestia as a mother.”
“Does Trixie see Princess Celestia as a mother to her? Please, Trixie didn’t even speak to her and Princess Celestia wasn’t even at school, you who came to Trixie and made Trixie your student. And Trixie is happy that she isn’t the only one who loves the night.”
Luna felt more tears come out of her eyes with those words, only they weren’t tears of sadness, but of happiness. Luna started to wonder why Trixie wasn’t her daughter. Was it wrong that she wanted Trixie to stay here in the castle to keep her company and that she wanted Trixie to be her daughter?
When Sunset Shimmer woke up, she felt lazy and despite sleeping, she was still sleepy. Waking up early wasn’t something she could do well. Sunset Shimmer started to hear knocking on the door, she covered her head with the blanket. “Sunset Shimmer, are you awake?”
No answer came, the door opened to reveal Celestia. Celestia looked at the bed and saw something under the blanket, of course she knew it was Sunset Shimmer who was down there, she approached the bed and nudged her student. “Sunset Shimmer.”
Sunset Shimmer moved a little, but it didn’t come out under the blanket. Despite this, Celestia was still smiling. “Come on Sunset, we need to have breakfast together.”
Sunset Shimmer came out from under the blanket, her mane was pretty messed up. Celestia was concerned. “Sunset, your mane is messed up.”
Sunset Shimmer brought out a mirror to look at. “You’re right, Princess Celestia. I’ll brush my mane now.” Sunset Shimmer got out of bed and headed for the bathroom, Celestia waited for her student in the room.
Trixie and Luna were at the dinner table eating pancakes while waiting for Celestia to return. Trixie was without her magician suit, Luna looked at her. “What did you think of the nocturnal class, Trixie?”
Trixie looked at Luna with a big smile. “Trixie loved it! Trixie never imagined that taking classes at night would be so magnificent!”
Luna smiled. “I’m glad you liked it.”
The door opened revealing Celestia, beside her was Sunset Shimmer. Celestia sat down. “How was Trixie’s night class, Luna?”
“Trixie loved it and said it was magnificent. I’ve never been so happier in my life, sister.” Luna was trying to not cry in front of her sister, her student and Sunset Shimmer.
While Celestia smiled, Sunset Shimmer felt the same feeling as before. The unicorn didn’t understand why she felt this. Was it because Sunset Shimmer was angry that Trixie thought Luna was better than Celestia? Or was it because she wanted to take other types of classes than magic? She really didn’t know. Sunset Shimmer looked at Celestia and realized that her mentor was still talking to Luna, she went to the table to start eating.
After they finished eating, Sunset Shimmer and Celestia went to the garden, while Trixie went to her room to play, Luna went to the room to sleep. Upon reaching the room, Trixie took her hat and magician cape with her magic and dressed. That done, Trixie made several teddy bears appear and placed them side by side as if they were an audience. Trixie took off her magic hat and started doing magic tricks with it.
While Trixie was doing amazing magic tricks, she didn’t realize that Sunset Shimmer was watching her. Sunset Shimmer had an expression of sadness, she wanted to be talented just like her friend. I mean, Sunset Shimmer thought she was talented at making spells, but she wanted to have that talent to do magic tricks just like Trixie. Was it wrong for her to feel this and want to be better than Trixie? Why was she feeling this again? Why couldn’t she be happy for her best friend? Was it because she wanted to be better at everything? Sunset Shimmer decided to leave, but unfortunately a voice stopped her. “Sunset? What are you doing here?”
Sunset Shimmer looked back and saw Trixie looking at her with a possibly worried look, and she had put her magic hat back on her head. “Are your classes today with Princess Celestia over yet?”
“Yes, and it was pretty quick,” said Sunset Shimmer.
“What spell did she teach you, Sunset?” asked Trixie.
“A levitation spell.”
“Well, Trixie would like to know why you were spying on her.”
Sunset Shimmer was unsure. Sunset Shimmer didn’t want to say that the reason she was spying on Trixie was because she felt that feeling unknown, because she feared that if she spoke, Trixie would hate her forever. But she had an idea. “Well, I came here because I wanted to spend time with you, and seeing you do magic tricks left me amazed.”
Trixie smiled with joy. “Really? Did you like Trixie’s magic tricks? Trixie is happy. Would you like to be Trixie’s assistant?”
Sunset Shimmer looked to the side while lifting a front and rear hoove. “Trixie, I would like us both to do something different ...”
Trixie looked sad about that. “What would you like to do?”
“We could go for a walk around the castle while we talk,” said Sunset Shimmer.
Trixie looked uncertain. “Can’t Trixie stay here in her room to practice her unicorn magic so that she is great and powerful?”
“Trixie, I understand why you want to train your magic, but I would like to spend the rest of the day with you.”
Trixie thought before answering. “OK. Trixie will spend the rest of the day with you, but only because Sunset is Trixie’s only friend.”
Sunset Shimmer hugged Trixie. Trixie was surprised. “Thank you, Trixie. You’re really my best friend.”
Trixie’s surprised expression changed to a smile. “You’re also Trixie’s best friend.”
Sunset Shimmer left the embrace. “So, how about we go for a walk in the garden?”
“Trixie liked the idea!” Sunset Shimmer and Trixie left the room.
Sunset Shimmer couldn’t help but notice that Trixie was wearing a cape and hat of a magician. “Trixie.”
“Yes?”
“Why are you wearing magician clothes?”
“Because it is with this outfit that Trixie feels great and powerful.”
“But Trixie, you don’t need that outfit to be great and powerful. You’re already talented without that outfit.”
“Really? Thank you, Sunset,” Trixie put a hoof on her chest while smiling. “But Trixie is still going to continue to wear that outfit.”
“But what is so special about a cape and a hat? It’s just a outfit. It’s not like it’s going to help you improve your magic even more,” said Sunset Shimmer.
Trixie stopped walking. “Listen here, Sunset. Are you by any chance saying that Trixie isn’t great and powerful?!”
Sunset Shimmer stopped walking and went back to where Trixie was. “What? No, Trixie. You have talent. But I think you shouldn’t be spending most of your time bragging.”
“Trixie doesn’t boast. She shows her skills to the ponies,” say Trixie.
Sunset Shimmer rolled her eyes. “It’s the same thing…”
“No, it isn’t.”
“It’s the same thing, yes.”
“No, it isn’t.”
“It’s the same thing, yes.”
“No, it isn’t!”
“It’s the same thing, yes!”
“No, it isn’t!”
“It’s the same thing!”
“No, it isn’t!”
“It’s the same thing, yes!”
“Trixie. Sunset. Could you two please stop fighting?”
Sunset Shimmer and Trixie were nervous. The two recognized the voice and looked up and saw Luna looking at them tiredly and possibly sulky, her mane was a little messy and she had dark circles. Trixie and Sunset were nervous, they didn’t realize that they were fighting at the door of Luna’s room.
“Sorry, Princess Luna, Trixie is sorry for waking you up. Are you mad at Trixie?” said Trixie.
Luna yawned as she raised a hoof close to her mouth. “Well, I hate being awake, and when that happens, I don’t have a good mood on my face. But, I’m not one to scream or get mad at foals, so you two consider yourself forgiven for waking me up.”
Trixie hugged Luna in the hooves while smiling and had her eyes closed. “Thank you Princess Luna, Trixie feels happy that she has been forgiven.”
Luna smiled while stroked Trixie’s mane, despite being tired. “You’re welcome, Trixie. Now, can I know why you two were fighting?”
Trixie came out of the hug. “Sunset Shimmer told Trixie that she couldn’t wear a cape and hat of magician, and even said that Trixie is showing off!”
Luna looked at Sunset Shimmer in a way not happy. Sunset Shimmer was a little scared by the look of the princess, she had a raised hoof and took a few steps back. “Sunset Shimmer, could you please apologize to Trixie?”
Sunset Shimmer looked at the floor. Sunset Shimmer didn’t want to apologize, because she thought she was right. She looked at Luna, and saw that the princess’s serious gaze didn’t waver. Sunset Shimmer approached Trixie. “Trixie, I’m sorry for saying that. Can you forgive me?”
Trixie looked uncertain. Should she forgive Sunset Shimmer? Like, Sunset Shimmer kind of kept saying that Trixie was a displayed. She looked at Luna as if to say, “Should I forgive her?” Luna nodded. Trixie looked back at Sunset Shimmer and hugged her. “Trixie forgives you.”
Sunset Shimmer smiled. “Thank you, Trixie.”
Luna smiled at the scene. “Well, I’m going to go back to sleep. See you at lunch, Trixie.”
Trixie and Sunset Shimmer came out of the embrace and watched Luna enter the room and close the door. Sunset Shimmer looked at Trixie. “So Trixie, are we going to the garden?”
Trixie looked at Sunset Shimmer. “Yes. Let’s go.”
When they arrived in the garden, the two started playing tag. Sunset Shimmer was running from Trixie. Although they didn’t realize it, they were entering the statues garden. They were having a great time, but Sunset Shimmer hit her forehead on a statue, she put a front hoof on her head. Trixie ran to Sunset Shimmer. “Are you okay, Sunset?”
“My head hurts a lot,” said Sunset Shimmer.
“Is there a nursery in the castle?” Asked Trixie.
“I think so. Let’s ask for one of the guards.”
“But don’t the royal guards just follow orders from the two royal sisters?”
“A royal guard said that he and the other guards said they could help me if Princess Celestia was busy.” Sunset Shimmer started walking, Trixie followed.
Upon arriving at the infirmary, the yellow nurse with brown mane looked worriedly at Sunset Shimmer. “Are you okay? Do you feel anything?”
“Yes. I hit my head on a statue and it hurts a lot, ”replied Sunset. “Is there ice?”
“Yes.” The mare went to a refrigerator, opened it, took an ice, then a plastic bag, put the ice inside the plastic and handed it to Sunset Shimmer, she took the ice bag with her magic, put it in the head.
“Thank you.” Sunset Shimmer left the room with Trixie.
“You’re welcome,” said the nurse.
“Are you feeling better?” asked Trixie, concerned.
“A little. At least it doesn’t hurt that much anymore.” smiled Sunset Shimmer.
A royal guard approached Sunset Shimmer and Trixie. “Sunset! Trixie! The princesses are waiting for you two in the dining room for lunch.”
“Thanks for letting us know. We will go now.” Sunset Shimmer and Trixie started walking to the dining room.
Upon reaching the dining room, Trixie opened the door with her magic as Sunset Shimmer couldn’t do that at the moment.
“Sunset! Are you okay? Are you hurt? Does it hurt?” asked Celestia worriedly, noting that Sunset Shimmer had an ice pack on her head.
“It doesn’t hurt as much as it did before, Princess Celestia,” said Sunset Shimmer.
“Where did you hurt your head?”
“I hit my head, or rather, my forehead on a statue in the garden.”
“Trixie, did you get hurt too?” asked Luna, also worried.
“No, Princess Luna.” Trixie approached the table and sat next to Luna to eat.
Sunset Shimmer did the same as Trixie, only she sat next to Celestia instead of Luna.
After finishing eating, Celestia went to the throne room. Luna, to her room to return to sleep. Trixie also went to her room, only to play of magician, and Sunset Shimmer was the library to read. Even though reading wasn’t her hobby, Sunset Shimmer knew it was one of the things she could do while at the castle. When she entered the library, Sunset Shimmer started looking for books on magic, but unfortunately whenever she picked up and looked for a book she didn’t find a spell. Sunset Shimmer didn’t want to give up easily, but she was starting to think that maybe she wouldn’t find a spell book in the library. Sunset Shimmer blew out a breath. It was obvious that there would be no spell books in the library, but that didn’t mean she didn’t want leave of have to hope that maybe it could have.
Sunset Shimmer took the books from the shelves and put them back. When Sunset Shimmer was finished, she intended to leave the library to spend time with Trixie, but stopped when it saw two doors. Sunset Shimmer was curious and went to one of the doors, she went to the left door and tried to open it, but it was locked. Sunset Shimmer decided to see the other door and saw that there was something written on the door. “Forbidden room.” She was about to enter, but she heard the sound of footsteps, Sunset Shimmer was running back to where she was, hoping they didn’t know she was near the door to the forbidden room. A white royal guard, yellow armor and dark blue mane appeared at the door. “Sunset, the princesses are waiting for you for dinner in the dining room.”
“I’ll be going,” said Sunset Shimmer. The royal guard came out of the library entrance. When the guard left, Sunset Shimmer was grateful that she wasn’t caught for finding out and being very close to entering the forbidden room. Maybe she could enter that forbidden room tomorrow, but she would try to not lose the track of time.
In the dining room, Trixie ate pasta and Luna, vegetable soup. Celestia wasn’t eating yet because she was waiting for Sunset Shimmer. She was wondering if Sunset Shimmer was going to be long in coming.
“Sister, aren’t you going to eat?” asked Luna.
“I’m going to eat, Luna,” Celestia looked at Luna. “I’m just waiting for Sunset Shimmer.”
They heard the sound of a door opening. Celestia and Luna looked at the door and saw Sunset Shimmer, the yellow unicorn had a smile on its face as it approached Celestia.
“Sunset, what have you been doing all day?” asked Celestia.
“I was playing with Trixie and also reading in the library,” said Sunset Shimmer.
“Are you feeling better?”
“Yes.” Sunset Shimmer took the bag with ice and made it disappear.
After Trixie and Luna finished eating they went to the garden. Trixie was excited for her night classes. What would Luna be teaching her today? What kind of spell would Luna teach her? Although Trixie was excited for spell classes, she was also excited for astronomy classes. Luna and Trixie were now outside the castle and were walking on the castle bridge. Trixie looked at the night sky and saw that the moon was full, had many stars and few constellations, she was so distracted looking at the sky that she ended up bumping into Luna. Luna didn’t seem to feel it and sat under a tree. Trixie did the same and sat down, but not under the tree.
“So Princess Luna, what are you going to teach Trixie today?” Trixie smiled with a look and a smile cute laugh.
Luna felt her cheeks hurt from smiling so much at the cuteness she was seeing. “Today I am going to teach you how to make objects appear with their magic.”
“Like that?” Trixie made several fireworks appear and go to the sky to explode.
“No, Trixie.” Trixie stopped what she was doing and her pupils looked like a puppy. “It’s like that.” Luna brought up a purple magic hat with stars. Trixie recognized the hat.
“Trixie’s hat! How did you manage to teleport him?” Trixie approached Luna.
Luna put the hat on Trixie. “Simple. I thought about your hat and it was teleported to me. Would you like to try?”
“Of course Trixie will try.” Trixie closed her eyes and used her magic. Her magician cape appeared and she put it on.
Luna smiled. “Very well, Trixie. I see that you’re very talented with your magic.”
Trixie looked at Luna. “Of course Trixie is talented with her magic. Now, would you like to see Trixie do magic tricks?”
“After Trixie from your astronomy class, okay?” said Luna.
Trixie was sad, but tried to be understanding, she looked at the floor. “Okay, Princess Luna.”
Luna hugged Trixie with a wing. “Don’t be sad, Trixie. I really like and appreciate your magic tricks, but first it has to be your classes and then we can have fun.”
Trixie was surprised. “Do you really like and appreciate Trixie’s magic tricks?”
“Of course I like and appreciate it,” replied Luna. “Besides the fact that you’re adorable and cute.”
Trixie’s ears perked up at the last sentence. “What was that, Princess Luna?”
Luna realized what she said and felt nervous. “N-nothing.”
