As the night was setting in and Prinsess Luna was reising the full moon to the top of the sky. Little Dinky was looking out her window at the moving moon from her bed, her mother closing the door after her. The stars where shinning and twinkly like always, as she closet her eyes and driftet of to dreamland.
In the other room Derpy took a muffin from the kitchen and walk out on the balcony. Then suddenly as she opend the door she heard, in a warm, jokey voice;
Dr. Hooves Did you bring one for me too?
Derpy almost droping the muffin in her wing, gaspt and joyfully but carefully jumpt into the hooves of the voices owner. A tear of joy fell from her eye as she hug him and she when leand out of the hug, she said;
Derpy You are finely home, we have miss you so much. You made it in time and did you save the other timeline?
Dr. Hooves hehe, yes my dearest and I did bring something for our little muffins birthday.
He took out a pillow with a little light green bow on, in the shape of a vanilla muffin from the saddlebags and gave it to her. In Derpys hooves she could see how fluffy the fabric was and feel how soft and squashy the muffin was. Giving it back to him after giving it a good hug, she then turnd to sit on the little swing bench and begun to unwrap the muffin. The Dr. Followed and took a seat next to her, also pulling a blanket over them to keep warm in the chill air of the night time.
Derpy broke the muffin in 2 and offerd the other half to him, looking happily in his eyes. With a smile and little bit sleepy eyes he took the muffin and put his forehead on hers. Happily but a bit surprise Derpy tryd to look at him only to meet his graze directly. They both blusht a little but did not pull away for each others eyes, small snowflakes landed in the mains of them both. Slowly blinking now and then, just enjoying the moment they both stay silent. The sounds around them started to be clearer, ponys walking in the snow, a owl’s hooot and there own heartbeats with slow and clam breaths.
A sudden tummy growls broke the mood and they whent back to sitting normally, both laughing a little. Derpy started eating, The Dr. Just lookt down on his. Started to feel the hunger after the travels, he gave in. Before he could blink the little half muffin was gone but the hunger still strong, he lookd over to Derpy still eating her part. But she has a big crumble on her chin and he took it off whid a gentle sweep of his hoove. Taking the last bite as she was chewing, looking at him with a tilt of her head, without words he knew what she was wondering about and just nodded. Derpy swallod and took off her blanket part, then walk back into the kitchen.
The Dr. sits outside looking up at the moon, the shiny full moon, stars glistening around it and a few clouds here and there. The owl had gone quiet but ponys could still be heard, some walking home and others singing carols on naboers doorstep. They will be at this house very soon, the Dr. though to himelf as he turnd his head to see, Derpy came back outside with a tray of muffins and 2 glasses of water. As she passed it to him she smiled with her eyes closet, then took her place next to him and put back on the blanket. The Dr. giving her one of the glasses and sett the tray on the side took a muffin and almost eat it in one bite. When he whent for the next one Derpy tapt him on the shoulder and ask;
Derpy C-can I have some too? I know you just got home after big adventure with your timi-wimy-stuff but could you pass me one and then you can have the rest.
He blushet when he realizet how fast he did eat it and passet her one, then take 3 muffins witch goes down as fast as the first. Derpy looks at him fondly, seeing him eat the muffins she made for him made her happy. She lookt back to the one she had in her own hooves and started eating. Inside the house little Dinky had woken up, dragging her dark blue blanket with stars on to her mother and fathers bedroom. Just to find it empty, rubbing her eyes she heard the sounds of someone eating very fast and her mothers voice. Walking to the sound she focused her magic on the door to open it, she struggled a bit but manege to open it enough for her head to poke out. As she lookd out and saw the hooves under the swing bench are not just her mothers gray ones but also her fathers brown ones she jumpt up. Dropt her blanket at floor with the door so it gets stock in the doorframe and keeps the dore open. Then gallops over to him, jumping up on his lap in the process as she giggles with joy.
Derpy grabbing the the Dr.'s glass, the Dr. happily opend his hooves and gave his daughter a big hug. Derpy joining them not long after she put both glasses down and Dinky stopt giggling. After a long hug Dinky climed in between them and lookd up at her father with big existing but still a little sleepy eyes when she sayd;
Dinky Soooooooo how did it go? Did you find the lost Prince? Did you have to fight the robots? How many timelines did you stop by? And did you find the thing I wanted for my birthday?!
The Dr. smiling only like a father do when they find out that his little daughter is both smart and still a child, he drag up the muffin pillow from his saddlebags and says
Dr. Hooves happy birthday my little muffin, hope you like it.
Derpy looks smiling at them both and gave the Dr. a small kiss on the cheek after he gave Dinky the muffin pillow. Little Dinky hugd the muffin and had the biggest smile on her face when she said:
Dinky Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thaaaaaaank youuuuuuu papa, I love it so much!
