Rainbow Dash was preparing for yet another date with Soarin.
They had been dating for about a year and a half. And they were very happy with their relationship. Especially Dash. She always loved Soarin with all her heart, and now that they were a couple, she loved him so much more.
"Am I beautiful enough? I know Soarin doesn't care much about my beauty but ... I want to impress him this time" Dash thought as her dressed.
She was wearing a magenta dress and was wearing a gold lightning clip.
"I hope Soarin likes it however"
She then sat on the sofa in the living room, waiting for her boyfriend to arrive.
An hour later, Soarin still hadn't arrived as usual. Rainbow Dash was starting to get worried, and wondering where Soarin could be.
"Where's Soarin at? He's never been that late"
After a few minutes there was finally a knock on the door. Dash quickly got up and opened the door revealing Soarin and Fluttershy.
"Soarin why did you take so long? You were never late"
"Sorry Dashie, I was late because I needed to get Fluttershy from her house first" Soarin said, Dash then looked at Fluttershy with a suspicious look.
"And why did you have to get Fluttershy?" Dash said
"Well Rainbow Dash, Soarin invited me out with you two today. I hope it doesn't have a problem for you..." Fluttershy said, Dash shook her head.
"No ... I really don't see any problem with you coming with us tonight" Dash said
"And now who's ready to go to Cloudsdale's best restaurant?" Soarin said

The three ponies flew over to the restaurant Soarin had booked in Cloudsdale. They sat at a table by the window. Soarin was sitting between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy.
"Good evening, sir and ladies, what do you wish for tonight?" A garson said
"Well, you could bring apple cider for the three of us. And for my personal dish, I think I'm going to want your best burger" Rainbow Dash said as the garson took her order
"I think I'm going to want a slice of apple pie, and for my friend Fluttershy, could you bring ... a fruit salad maybe?" Soarin said looking at Fluttershy, Fluttershy laughed and nodded.
The garson finished taking orders and then left. Rainbow Dash then looked at Soarin.
"My friend Fluttershy? Since when are you friends Soarin?" Dash said
"Fluttershy is helping me with some things and then we started to get closer, and this dinner was a way of thanking her" Soarin said
"Yes, Soarin is a really nice guy, we realized that we have some things in common" Fluttershy said
Dash then started looking at Soarin and Fluttershy with an uncomfortable look.
"Maybe" Dash said rolling her eyes
Soon after, the order of the three ponies arrived and then they started to eat.

"Thanks for escorting me home Soarin, I really didn't need to..." Fluttershy said
"No problem, now I need to go. I have to take Dash home. See you later Shy"
"See you soon Soar" Fluttershy said
Soon afterwards Soarin accompanied Rainbow Dash home, and when they arrived in front of the door Dash began to look at Soarin with an unapproving look.
"Shy? Really, Soarin? Now does she have a nickname?" Dash said
"Well Dash, she's my friend and-"
"And what? And she calling you Soar? Soarin, that's a nickname that only I call you!"
"Hey Relax Dashie, these are just nicknames that any friend would give"
Rainbow Dash snorted a little and looked away. Soarin saw this and put a hoof on Dash's back.
"Don't worry Dash, Fluttershy and I are just friends. There is nothing you can worry about" He said kissing Dash's cheek.
"Right..."

The next day...
Rainbow Dash was flying through Cloudsdale, after passing the metrology team.
She was still thinking about her meeting with Soarin the day before. She didn't know why but she had been a little uncomfortable with Fluttershy's presence at dinner.
"Maybe it's just a fit of jealousy ... Or-" Dash was cut off by the vision in front of her.
Soarin was walking through Cloudsdale next to Fluttershy. They seemed to be getting along very well, and were laughing a lot together.
Rainbow Dash was dying of rage at the time. All she wanted to do now was go to the two pegasus and pull Fluttershy by the hair to mark her territory. But she decided to do something less risky.
She flew over to the two pegasus, and when they saw the cyan-blue mare they immediately stopped talking, and looked away from Dash.
"What's going on here?" Dash asked in a rather serious tone. Fluttershy took a step back.
"W-Well ... We were ..." Fluttershy tried to say
"What?" Dash said
"We were just talking Dash" Soarin said
"Was that just it? Because suddenly you two became so close, and will know if you have ulterior motives with each other" Dash said
"Dash believe me, nothing is going on between Fluttershy and me. We are just friends" Soarin said
"If that's true, then what were you talking about?" Dash said
"Well ... we ... I better get going" Fluttershy said as she flew away
Rainbow Dash then turned to face Soarin
"Rainbow Dash, believe me. I'm not cheating on you with Fluttershy"
"And how can I believe you?"
"I don't know ... All I can give you is my word"
"Okay, I'll trust you, Soarin. I really hope you're telling the truth"

2 days later ...
Rainbow Dash was flying to Cloudsdale to visit Soarin at his home. he didn't know she was coming to visit him, Dash wanted to surprise her boyfriend.
She landed in front of his house, and then knocked on the door, but got no answer. She knocked again but still got no answer. She then realized that the door was open, and then decided to enter.
She looked everywhere in the house, but did not find Soarin. When she opened the door to his room, her heart broke at the sight in front of her.
Soarin was sitting on his bed next to Fluttershy.
Dash tried to do her best to hold back the tears in her eyes, but failed.
"You look too busy Soarin" Dash said
Fluttershy and Soarin looked at the cyan-blue pegasus with wide eyes. Soarin then got up from the bed and went to Dash, but she moved away from him.
"Y-You ... You don't touch me ..." Dash said while crying
"Dash I ..."
"What Soarin? You finally go to say that you are in love with Fluttershy, one of my best friends, and that you want to break up with me ?!"
"No Rainbow Dash, not what you're thinking!" Fluttershy said as he approached Dash. Dash then started looking at Fluttershy angrily.
"And you, Fluttershy? I thought you were my friend! How can you do this to me ?!"
"Rainbow Dash, I was just helping Soarin with something" Fluttershy said
"This conversation again ?! If that's true then why don't you guys ever tell me what this is ?!" Rainbow Dash said while crying even more.
Soarin then moved closer to Dash and looked her in the eye.
"Rainbow Dash I'm not cheating on you with Fluttershy. I would never do that. I love you Dashie, and only you. I could never love another mare, how much I love you"
"A-Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course Dashie, Fluttershy was helping me choose something very special, for a very special pony" Dash was now confused
Fluttershy then handed Soarin a small velvet box. He then knelt on his hind legs in front of Dash.
Rainbow Dash was shocked and speechless.
"Dashie if I acted a little weird these days, it was because I wanted this to be a special surprise for you. I chose Fluttershy to help me because I knew she was one of your oldest friend, and I also knew that only she could help me prepare this for you "he said as he opened the little box revealing a beautiful diamond ring
"S-Soarin ..."
"Dashie, would you make me the happiest stud in the world by becoming my wife?" Soarin said smiling at Dash.
"II ... I ... yes .... Yes Soarin, I really want to marry you" Dash said, still with tears in her eyes
Soarin then got up and put the ring on Dash's hull, and then looked into her watery eyes smiling.
"You didn't cheat on me with Fluttershy ..."
"Of course not Dash, I love you"
"I love you too ... And I'm sorry for doubting you .... You two"
"It's okay Dashie" Soarin said smiling
"Yes, oh I'm so happy for you two" Fluttershy said
"Thank you Fluttershy, and I'm sorry again for doubting you ..."
"It's okay, Dash"
Rainbow Dash then looked again at the ring on its hull.
"I can't wait to tell all of this to our friends"
