“So? What’ve you got?”
“Dope. Literally.”
“Sweet, dude.”
Sandbar and Smolder were currently negotiating how good of a deal Smolder got when dealing. The powdered cocaine sprinkled around in the bag each time she gestured or moved her hands, causing Sandbar to almost drool. Ocellus, who was reading a book and sitting against the trunk of a tree, glared for second, and looked at Smolder, when her gaze softened.
“Be careful, you two! If the Headmare finds out you’re dealing that stuff, she’ll have you both expelled!”
Smolder blew a raspberry and waved a dismissive claw. “Pfft. Ponies barely know how to live,” she started, looking over to the red-eyed Sandbar. “The only one with actual guts is ol’ meth mane.”
“Scratch that. I can’t feel my stomach.” Sandbar corrected, rubbing his hide-covered tummy with less concern than Ocellus would probably adhere to having. “You could say brains, though.”
“I wouldn’t say brains. He had those fried since the day weed was legalized in Equestria.” Gallus deadpanned from afar, leaning against one of the Professor’s cars in the faculty lot. Since Equestria’s alliances with other kingdoms, technology evolved, like, a lot. It was going to get some getting used to now that ponies had cars, but, for some reason, the professors might’ve gotten used to it easily, especially now that they already had paint jobs.
Smolder chuckled, Sandbar just looked at her in confusion, and Ocellus sighed. “Have I not told you guys before that drugs were bad for your health?”
“Yeah,” replied Smolder, instantly pulling out a piece of paper and a bag of greenery. “And this is probably why we’re just too dumb to listen.”
Ocellus groaned.
“Hey! Lemme have some of that!” Sandbar objected, reaching over in attempt to wrestle the bag out of Smolder’s hands. Much to his dismay, the dragon wasn’t budging. Both physically and metaphorically, half because he was on cloud nine with his drugs right now, and half because Smolder had a little more strength than him.
“I’m starting to think you don’t need any more.” She said, absentmindedly emptying the bag on the piece of paper and rolling a blunt. Sandbar watched in disappointment as he saw his friend blow a few sparks of fire onto the tip, sliding the other side into her mouth soon after.
“What...?” She muttered, aware that she had just caught Ocellus’ eye. “Gallus uses Muul. Muul causes sickness and lung diseases and shit. Why can’t I just smoke the all natural stuff?”
"Because you're both students. We go to the School of Friendship to learn, not to do drugs!" Ocellus argued, but Smolder just took a puff and dusted off her friend's rather frantic explanation. Sandbar just leaned in to Smolder's ear fluff and proceeded to whisper.
"Where'd you get this deal from?" He said, keeping his voice low so Ocellus wouldn't hear. Smolder arched a brow before taking another puff and exhaling with satisfaction. She smiled soon after, and then came to realize that maybe letting Sandbar in on her secret dealer wouldn't be such a bad idea.
"Alright--" She coughed. "I'll give you a... hint, dude. You go to Professor Dash, she'll tell you all about it. Be careful. The Headmare said somethin' 'bout a stallion walking around here on inspection n' shit." Ocellus glared over at them again, this time shutting her book, which made a loud noise and caught both of their attention. Smolder frowned a little, but her lips curved back int a small smile. Ocellus wasn't having it. She stood up and stomped over to her, prepared to give her an earful of it. And by it, it meant a long lecture on how bad the use of drugs is, and how the both of them should try to contain their addictions instead of trying to always keep them on the DL.
"I--" She stopped. "You're already high, aren't you?"
"As a kite." Smolder replied, taking another pump of her blunt and shooting another smile at the bewildered bug. The smile quickly faded, however, when Ocellus stamped a hoof firmly on the ground, giving a stern expression to the dragon under her. "Whaaaaaaaaaat?" She whined, sinking down onto the moist grass. Ocellus just frowned, stepping closer to her. She sighed.
"I think I'm going to have to limit your drug use myself. Have you two not considered how high the death rates in Equestria are climbing solely because of the drug use? I-I wouldn't want you two to go missing in some sort of scandal!"
Sandbar tried to correct her. "Eh- they're actually called drug deals, because--"
"I beliiiiiiiiieeeve what Sandy's trying to say here is that we've got enough street cred to survive a night. That's why you don't see us at night." Sandbar looked at her, a brow arched. Smolder took time to think about her latest answer, and then found a way to come up with a new one. "Aaaaaaaand in the afternoons. We take casual deals at lunch." Sandbar nodded happily at this answer, and Smolder picked up her small plastic bag of coke straight after.
"Wait, so, let me get this straight. You've been dealing with the rest of the students??????!!!!!!!"
"Ooooow. You're loud as fuck. Quiet it down a little, would you?" Pleaded Smolder calmly, who had taken another nonchalant puff from her cigar. Ocellus' eye twitched.
"I cannot quiet it down! This is what you've been doing this whole time? Do you know how much trouble you could get in?!"
"I'm not sure we're used to anyone freaking out this much," negotiated Sandbar, who had gotten a small plastic baggie tossed at his head. Ocellus took note of his calm reply, and then decided to take a deep breath. Smolder smiled at this, prepared to trade one last snark before she stopped talking for the minute. Sure, the changeling girl was freaking out in the moment, but what could be better to lift her spirits than a little foul play?
"Besiiiiiides, what's so bad about us taking a while off from school? What? You gonna miiiiss us?" She continued teasingly, waving her cigar around with a numbed claw. Ocellus huffed, her cheeks reddening. Smolder sat quietly as the awkward silence played out longer and longer while Sandbar and Gallus began to chuckle under their breath. She ignored them, mostly because she was sky high right now and couldn't really care less about what they were doing.
"Yes... k-kind of. A lot. T-That's not the point though!"
"Sure it is," Gallus offered. "Except Sandbar wouldn't be the only one you'd care about going missing." He chuckled. Ocellus blanched.
"You guys." Smolder started, walking over to Gallus. He looked up from his phone and proceeded to listen to her speak. "Freedom of speech is important, but maybe you need to know when to shut the fuck up." Smolder was currently red eyed and high, so, she was bound to get really angry if she didn't just stop there. When Smolder was on drugs, you'd know when you pissed her off. Most of the time, when she was high, she was really, really chill. That was, unless, you made her mad. Then, she'd go off on you, full meter. There was no in between.
Ocellus let out a small shiver. Smolder's aura was cold, she wasn't giving off any emotion, surprisingly. Even as it seemed that anger was seething out from that scorching glare of her's; nothing was there.
