My name is Roy, I'm 20 years old, and was recruited by the Area 51 reverse engineering team. I am thin, half brown, with dark brown eyes, dark brown hair and average height.
Almost six months ago, mysterious men in black had kidnapped me from the university campus, vaguely telling that they needed me in their reverse engineering project. They explained that wanted to start recruiting younger staff and that I would be the first.
And as expected, I was forced to sign one of his famous silence contracts, although at this point it should no longer be necessary.
Since 2034, gray aliens revealed their presence, eluding the government. They were very peaceful beings, and according to them the only extraterrestrial species in the galaxy besides us. Actually, they live normally in our cities, and there're also humans on their planet. Some of them even have human couples, something increasingly common and accepted.
Furthermore, according to presidential conferences, Section S4 of Area 51 had become a division of NASA charged with the most ambitious projects, almost everything without direct help from aliens.
During these 6 months I have learned incredible things. Thanks to the experimental technologies of this base, I was able to finish my degree and complete a postgraduate degree in flying saucers engineering in record time. In fact, my last test was an interstellar journey to the planet of aliens at 30 light years away just to test the efficiency of the experimental warp 3.
I was currently in the cockpit of a sport style flying saucer, analyzing the indicators and controls of its transparent screen. Unlike other spacecraft, this was mentally piloted, hence the lack of conventional manual controls. I would try this technology for the first time.
I wore a navy blue uniform, which had the logos of NASA and the Air Force. This suit protected me against pressure, radiation and dangerous particles. I also wore a special helmet, which would capture my brain waves in signals that would be captured by the ship's OS.
They told me that this prototype was capable of time travel, something really incredible, considering that even aliens managed that technology a few centuries ago. Furthermore, only humans participated in its construction. In resume, humans aren't primitive.
My test would be to verify that this ship could safely travel to the past. The dangers were many, but without risk there's no reward. The good news was that I could travel to a date of my choice, as long as I met the safety requirements.
At last the preparations for the test finished. I was eager to start, I never thought this day would come. "Command, I'm ready."
"Aware, permission to take off. Remember, imagine that you are the ship that floats. Warn when you reach 1500 feet," said the scientist through the communicator.
"Understood," I nodded, taking a deep breath and closing my eyes.
I turned my full attention to thinking that I was floating in the air. Took me a bit to concentrate for the emotion, but could take control completely. Until after 1 minute of attempts I could feel the vibration of the reactor on ignition.
Gradually the ship emerged from the moving platform, a blue glow emanating from below it. Cameras located around the platform closely followed the takeoff.
"Hey boy, you don't need to think all the time. The ship has already received the order," the scientist got me out of my thoughts.
I growled annoyed. "Oh, NOW you tell me?"
Shortly after I reached 1500 feet. I reported this through the transmitter.
"Ok, now I want you to think of any past date, free of war..." he ordered.
I stopped listening to him when he said: Choose a date. The time had come. I had to try to contain my joy, so I just chuckled. I immediately came up with the perfect date. "I want to travel to the year 1886."
"And why that year?" He asked puzzled.
"Because I want to greet my friend Nikola Tesla," I said amused.
The scientist pondered the idea for a few seconds before answering me. "... Permission granted, but find him in a safe place. We don't want to cause unwanted paradoxes," he nodded hesitantly. It would be impossible for him to know where I could safely appear when I got there.
"Understood," I nodded, the date appeared on the screen. Then the vibration of the reactor suddenly stopped.
I checked the odometer and saw that I was rapidly losing altitude. "I am falling!" I screamed panicking, this wasn't normal. The indicators soon marked the fault. "Command, I have an engine failure!"
"Try to reactivate!" The scientist shouted worried.
I tried to imagine again that I was flying, but it didn't work; The reactor didn't respond. My heart was already beating at 1000 a second. Now it turns out that my dream would be the cause of my death; what a disgrace... Well, all in the name of science.
I tried to restart the engine for the last time, and just before touching the ground, everything around me became silent and bright and then turned completely dark.
I snapped my eyes open, panting heavily and noticed that I was still inside the ship. Yay! I had survived, although I still didn't feel my body.
The flying saucer was tilted and the windshield was broken. I doubted that I was still in Area 51, because from where I could see, there were dense orange clouds that slightly dimmed the sunlight. Possibly I had finished over a century in the past. Damn, now how could I go back to my time? But hey, first of all, I had to take an inventory of the damage to make a plan.
The first thing I noticed was that the automatic door was damaged, but then I remembered that each ship or plane had a laser gun under the seat, for emergencies. I reached down to reach it, and felt the worst pain of my whole life, which made me drop the gun. "Auuuchh...!" The pain came from the right side of my stomach, a metal bar of the seat had pierced my abdomen.
Holding back a shriek of pain, I took the laser gun, and began to heat the metal bar with this to cauterize the wound and stop the bleeding, then I applied disinfectant and some bandages from the medicine cabinet that was on my left. I had no words to describe that hellish sensation.
I needed help immediately, was no longer concerned with paradoxes; I wanted to survive, even if the odds were low, especially in this epoch. Damn, they wouldn't even have antibiotics here, and I still didn't have the tetanus shot.
After catching my breath a little, I used the gun to very carefully cut the end attached to the seat and free myself. I hope I don't end up bleeding to death.
I opened a hole in the ship's door to get out. Outside I saw that the ground was sandy and orange. Hell, the situation was worse than I thought; I had ended up in a fucking desert. This made me doubt much more, but I wasn't going to give up.
As I continued to analyze my surroundings, I noticed something even stranger; It wasn't hot at all and the orange hue of the clouds didn't appear to be sunset. This wasn't a common desert, it could even be another planet, Damn!
Then I heard a noise coming from the top of the ship. I looked towards the origin, and fell on my back scared to see a strange creature on the flying saucer. The being looked like a kind of flying feathered snake.
I quickly took the gun and pointed the laser directly at his head. The being just looked me up and down with his bright blue iris, before spreading his wings and walking away, disappearing from my sight.
Apparently, the accident sent me to another star system or even to another universe... Damn, I was lost; The chances of returning were low, but I would focus on that later; I had to seek help first, no matter what. I could only pray that the civilization that might exist here is kind and advanced enough to help me.
Then an intense pain brought me out of my thoughts. My wound had opened by the fall and was bleeding again. I had little time, and could pass out at any time.
I quickly climbed the sand hill where the ship was half buried. The view left me really shocked.
Near the horizon there was a huge castle floating above the landscape, of which, a brilliant blue material cascaded from it.
That made my eyes light up with hope. Ignoring the bleeding, I ran to the ship and took a piece of the fuselage to get someone's attention with a flash of light.
I could only hold the heavy piece for a few seconds, before collapsing due to the growing weakness of my body, my vision became increasingly blurred.
I could only wait on the floor for someone to rescue me before it was late. "H-help me..." I said weakly, a couple of tears came out of my eyes.
The last thing I could see before passed out was a strange winged silhouette that landed in front of me and enveloped me in a kind of green energy.

Little by little, my mind was recovering activity, and although everything was dark, I could subtly hear the sound of a constant beep... I slowly opened my eyes, and saw that I was connected to a cardiac monitor of a hospital like from the 70s.. I also noticed that the beds were very low, which could be due to short stature beings. I growled under my breath in the absence of a television.
Then I heard a male voice say. "Hi boy, I'm glad you woke up. How are you feeling?"
My eyes widened in amazement when I saw in front of me, a small quadruped creature in a doctor's gown, which had some equine characteristics, but didn't look like a land horse. The strange stallion was a kind of gray unicorn with dark mane and big green eyes.
"What the hell..." I mumbled in amazement. I was trapped in the world of a six year old brat or something like that... I couldn't bear the urge to bang my head against the wall. I was surely still unconscious in my ship or in the hospital of Area 51.
The pony enveloping me in an unknown energy, similar to what I saw before passing out in that desert. "Hey, don't do that. You'll hurt yourself more," he said calmly.
"I'm just trying to wake up from this stupid dream..." I said as struggled to free myself, but the grip was almost like that of a straitjacket.
"I can assure that you aren't dreaming. You're as real as me," he interrupted me, releasing me from his grasp. I ended up believing him, because I started to feel pain from the blows. That left me in shock. Gosh... This was 100% real, not fake...
"...Well, getting to the point... Fortunately you breathe oxygen and your anatomy is not that different from ours, otherwise we couldn't help you here," the miniature horse broke the silence.
"Mmm, I see," I nodded, "...So what happened to me while I was unconscious?" I looked at the pony.
"We managed to repair all the damage caused by the metal bar. You came here on the verge of death. We had to revive and connect you to life support, because you lost almost 3 liters of blood..."
"Oh Gosh..." I felt a thump in the stomach when I heard that, but also some hope because that meant there were more humans, although I've never been told about a planet of thinking ponies that speak my own language. This could be a top secret genetic project, but that doesn't explain why I ended up here. "...So are there others of my kind here?"
"I don't know your species, but fortunately, the one who found you was a princess, someone capable of providing you with such a large amount of blood..."
"Like what…!? Idiots, you guys are going to kill me!" I said exalted and somewhat terrified. At first I thought it was a joke and that this talking horse just wanted to bother me, but his expression told me otherwise. Hell, as it occurred to him that a pony's blood would be compatible with mine.
"Hey, hey, calm down. Let me finish explaining," The pony exclaimed.
"Uggghhh...okay," I sighed resigned. Thinking twice, I didn't feel that bad, except for a little headache. If that was incompatible blood, I would have already died. So a good explanation would be good for me.
"For starters, we are ponies. The horses are our ancestors.
"Alicorn princesses possess ancient magic in their bodies, which gives them biological advantages; their blood can superficially adapt to the needs of their host, whenever the receiving user requires erythrocytes. They also have regenerative capacity, therefore, she recovered those three liters that were donated to you in a few minutes. For these reasons, alicorns are also immortal," explained the pony doctor.
That was the most stupid thing I've ever heard. "Hahaha...Magic, immortality, really...? Hahaha, don't play with me. I understand that you don't want to share your technology, but..."
"No no, none of that. The magic is a cosmic force that every creature in this world has and can control to some degree. You don't have it?" The pony interrupted me.
"No," I said expressionlessly.
"So where the hell did you come from?" He said puzzled.
"I am a human, and where I come from, the magic is considered fictional," I said seriously. "Humm, one second... Why didn't they tell you where they found me?" I said curious. Apparently, he had no idea how I got here, otherwise he wouldn't ask so many stupid questions.
Before the doctor opened his mouth to respond, a white mare with pink mane, blue eyes and a nurse's hat entered the room. She was definitely the least abnormal pony I've ever seen here so far, with no horn or anything else. "Doctor, the princess is here. She wants to see the creature."
"Thank you Redheart. Let her pass... You can withdraw," he ordered. She just nodded and left the room without paying attention to me.
"Is the princess the one who rescued me?" I said nervously. Damn, this day would be very long. Now I had to deal with the princess...
"She said she would come when she could," said the pony.
"No no no! Tell her to go! I'm not up for this bullshit right now! Tell her I'm still asleep," I said exalted. I had to do everything possible to get out of this. A simple Thank You wouldn't be enough for a princess, and right now I didn't want to waste my time on diplomatic matters.
"Why not? She isn't going to do anything to you. You don't know how worried she was about you," he said seriously.
"I don't care. For now I'm not for reverences. Tell her that you giving me a bath or cleaning my butt... Something!" I said desperately.
"Hahaha, Really, friend? Would you rather make a fool of yourself than talk to the princess? Who surely comes with the best intention," he laughed out loud.
The last thing he said echoed in my mind. In fact, it would be rude of me not to thank her in person, even though I still risked diplomatic or legal problems, but I should be educate. A rescue and a donation of three liters of blood, was something to consider. "Ugh, You know what? You already convinced me... Let her pass, before I change my mind," I sighed with resignation.
The doctor nodded, victorious, and then let in an orange mare with blue eyes and brown mane with fluorescent blue that, rippled without wind? Until when this was going to end...
I looked at her closely, staying as natural as possible. I realized that she was taller than the other ponies, although perhaps while standing, she would reach my shoulder. At first glance, she didn't appear to be bad. In fact, her aura felt quite warm, and besides, she was kind of pretty, hehehe...
The pony princess smiled when she saw me awake. "Hello, I'm glad you woke up. Can you understand me?"
"I understand you perfectly," I simply nodded. The princess opened her eyes in surprise, she didn't expect that either.
"Welcome to Equestria. I am Princess Tempora, one of the rulers of this world, and responsible for maintaining balance and the continuity of time."
I wish I had a drink to spit it on her pretty face. This mare claimed to manipulate time and without advanced technology... of course, hahaha... Although that explains her hourglass tattoo. I'm surprised I haven't noticed those tattoos on the butts of the ponies before.
"I understand that you're confused," she said.
"Now that you say it, I think that the least strange thing of this place, is you..." I said in a neutral tone. "By the way, thank you very much for rescuing me, although at first I didn't take it very well. Hope it didn't cause problems for you," I said in a grateful tone. The idea that royal blood ran through my veins lifted my pride, and in fact, that donation was strong proof of the humility of royalty in this world.
"Don't thank me, who would I be to let you die," she smiled warmly.
"But if you control time, would witness the death of millions of beings... What is special about me?" I said confused. The last thing she said didn't add up.
"Simple... You crashed into my kingdom, which is isolated from the rest of this world, so there's no risk of paradox," the princess told me.
I'd better try to ignore some of those weird things, even though it goes against my curious nature, but it's necessary; I don't want to go crazy so soon. These alien ponies were sure to be full of more surprises. "Oh, I understand," I nodded weakly. "But hey...I think you want to know who I am and how I ended up here, right?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
She just nodded her head. I told her a few things about myself and how I crashed here. She gave me a compassionate expression upon hearing my story, was also amazed at the technological wonders that humans possess. Surely it was unthinkable for her, that someone could travel through space-time and between dimensions without the use of powerful and complicated spells. She told me that she had taken my ship to her castle and that she left everything as it was.
"Okay, but I suggest you isolate my ship somewhere bombproof. The slightest instability of the reactor, could cause the ship to explode violently," I warned. She just widened her eyes, before disappearing in a green flash.
"What the hell was it she did? Teleport?" I asked curiously. This world overwhelmingly contradicted all my knowledge.
"That's right, unicorns can teleport," said the doctor.
"Agh, with magic, right?" I growled
"Yes, magic," the doctor nodded.
The fact that these ponies didn't have the artifacts to be able to have those abilities made me feel useless. At least I had my ship, that's why I also wanted to repair it.
Then that headache from before suddenly sharpened. The doctor noticed this immediately. "What's wrong, Roy?" Asked the concerned doctor.
"My head is killing me...!" I screamed. The headache soon became the worst migraine I have ever felt, I even threw up a little. The doctor barely managed to avoid the projectile.
"Your heart rate is accelerating. I'll give you something for nausea and pain and order some tests to rule out possible trauma," said the doctor, still concerned.
The medicine stopped the nausea and relieved the pain, but it was still quite strong. The nurse from before helped to move the bed.
.
.
When I came back, saw that the princess was already there, her face expressing extreme concern. Before she could ask me anything, the doctor called her. That bothered me, any details about me should be communicated to me first.
Minutes later, they both entered again. The princess was downcast. "Young Roy, I have bad news for you. Tests reveal that your body exhibits a severe sensitivity to radiation from unicorn magic. You must return to your world when you are discharged. Equestria can be deadly for you," the doctor explained.
"Shit, and my ship doesn't work..." I growled annoyed. I was definitely nothing against these ponies, another blow to my pride. Now it turns out that even their seemingly harmless childish world was dangerous to me.
"I-I'm sorry, Roy," the princess gave me a compassionate look.
I just closed my eyes and sighed deeply, trying to assimilate the situation and thinking of a solution. Then the memory of my uniform came to mind. "One second ... Where's my suit?" I said opening my eyes again.
"I took it to a good friend. What was her name...? Charity I think... She's a very good seamstress, will leave your clothes as new," replied the princess.
"I doubt it, my suit is made of very specific materials, although perhaps a hole isn't a big problem for me..." I said skeptically. "That's a special suit that protects me from all kinds of radiation. I want to see if it also works with magic," I explained.
"That's impossible, there's no material capable of repelling magic radiation," the doctor shook his head.
"We'll see about that, remember I don't belong here," I said mockingly.
"But regardless of your suit, you must protect yourself," said the princess seriously. "My kingdom is isolated from Equestria and ancient magic is stable and harmless. If you want, you can stay in my castle as long as you need," the princess smiled warmly.
"What if I say no?" I raised an eyebrow. I had to make sure they didn't fool me. Being in a world full of kind and benevolent beings seemed too good to be true.
"N-no, I'm not going to charge you or hinder you... We're not like that here," she said nervously.
I had no other choice but to consider the proposal, since I had nowhere to stay. Furthermore, according to my psychological knowledge, there was no obvious sign of lies in the princess's proposal; I had nothing to lose.
I noticed that the princess anxiously awaited my answer, tried to hide a slight tremor in her paws.
"Yes, why not."
"Fantastic!" She exclaimed happily.
.
.
I spend the next two weeks in the hospital. I was visited by several very friendly ponies who claimed to be Princess Tempora's first best friends, although that pink mare with a cotton candy mane made me mad.
Another was the pony named Rarity (and not Charity), who literally left my outfit looking like new, the seams weren't noticeable. She said she used a special spell to create the necessary cloth for another.
As I believed, the suit was also effective against unstable magic. That really surprised the doctor, who asked me for a fabric sample. And I, taking advantage of this situation, forced him to retract what he told me for underestimating me. "No one questions Roy," that is my current motto.
But the strangest visit of all was a mint colored pony and her cream colored friend, who knew details about my species, which I hadn't told anyone yet. They were amazed by my human anecdotes.
I finished signing my discharge documents. The princess was waiting for me at the door. She looked me up and down with some intrigue, possibly due to my height. "Hi Roy, how are you?" She smiled and extended her hoof.
"Better than ever, Your Highness," I said, shaking her paw.
She wanted to give me a little tour of the town. At first I refused, but was weak before her giant puppy eyes. The princess told me that the town was called Ponyville, which was like from the Middle Ages, with wooden and straw houses, and ponies moving carts. Very primitive compared to the hospital.
After walking for several minutes, I began to feel uncomfortable with all eyes on us. "Hey Princess, we better go to a less crowded place..."
"I agree, but don't hesitate to call me by name," she smiled.
"Ok, Tempora," I nodded.
"Oh, you remembered!" She said happy.
"Ah, speaking of which... Your friend Rarity wanted to hit me for calling her Charity," I said amused.
"Oops, sorry, I just don't have a very good memory," she chuckled.
"It would be the last straw if you forgot my name," I said mockingly.
After a while, we reached the entrance of a forest on the outskirts of the town. Tempora channeled her magic, opening a portal to that desert.
"Is this desert from my accident another dimension?" I said confused, believing it was a distant place or a natural satellite of this planet.
"Not precisely, my kingdom belongs to an alternate timeline in the past of this universe," she explained.
"Ohh, so this planet was previously desert, Right?"
"That's right," she nodded.
"Ohhh..." That was all I could say. Then something clicked in my head, "One second... if you possess that ability, could you help me return to my world?"
She didn't respond immediately, just looked the other way, possibly mulling it over, then frowned slightly, letting me know there was a detail. "It is possible, but I never tried to travel to a dimension independent of this. It'll be difficult, but I'll try."
I didn't know why, but there was a dilemma in my head. My mind told me that it would be thoughtless of me to accept her direct help. "Better not, you already did a lot by saving me... I'll continue alone," I shook my head.
"By no means, the last thing I want is to leave someone alone. I won't make that mistake again," she said with some melancholy.
"Hey, what happened?" I said something confused by her sudden change of mood.
"N-no, nothing... b-but I really want to help you," she said nervously.
"Ugghh... okay, but please, don't try too hard," I said seriously.
She nodded her head. "Well, now that I remember... My friend Dr. Whooves is the smartest pony in Equestria. I think he could help you with something."
"Mmm, I feel like I've already heard from him. You guys have strange names..."
But, what is wrong with our names?" She looked at me confused.
"It's my human opinion... I'm not saying they're ugly, but your names seem to have been taken from children's shows," I said amused. Not only their names, but their whole world seems to come from a child's imagination. The colors in this place were so vivid that it hurt my eyes a little.
"You mean human foals?"
"Huh, yes," I nodded weakly.
She didn't answer, just averted her gaze and hid it under her mane.
"Well, regardless of that pony's IQ, there will be plenty to teach him. The advantage is that I always wanted to be a teacher." I broke the silence.
"Hehehe, yeah," she laughed.
Then we went back to town. How annoying that all the ponies looked at me again with their stupid faces. I also began to feel that someone was following me.
"Hello human! Where are you going?!" That mint green pony screamed behind me, making us gasp in shock.
Tempora glared at her. "Lyra, learn to behave now! He's still trying to assimilate his situation," she said exalted.
"Sorry princess," Lyra said embarrassed.
"But if you promise to control yourself, you can come with us," she recovered her calm posture.
"Motherfucker..." I mumbled inaudibly, I didn't want that green mare to start bothering me, but for some reason I decided not to complain.
"Yessss!" Lyra screamed with joy, hitting the ground with her hooves.
We arrived at the house of Dr. Whooves, a brown stallion with blue eyes and a tattoo similar to Tempora's. "Hello, princess! What brings you here?" He let us pass. The interior of his house was full of interesting scientific equipment, but nothing I have not seen before.
"Hello doctor, I want to introduce you to young Roy," Tempora pushed me a little toward him.
"You are the human Lyra talks about, right?" He said curious.
"Huh... yes," I nodded.
"You're just as she described them."
"Yes, very handsome..." Lyra gave me a flirtatious look.
I got as far away from her as I could. That happens to me for not speaking. I should have said no from the beginning. "I am here because need your help. Tempora recommended you," I said.
"Oh seriously?" He said, feeling flattered.
"Yes, but that's not the point. His ship was damaged, and he needs an assistant to repair it. And what better than one of the best science ponies in Equestria," Tempora explained.
The doctor's eyes light up at that, but then he sighed deeply. "Ohhhh, your civilization must be advanced, I would like to help you, but..."
"No excuses, I'll teach you what is necessary. And believe me, I'm patient with even my slowest students," I said cheekily.
"Hehehe, the next few days will be very interesting," he said. Everyone laughed except me.
"No no no... I wanted us to start today, if you're interested," I said. If he was as I thought, he shouldn't reject this offer.
"Sure, I have plenty of time, or if necessary, your majesty will provide it for me," he pointed out to Tempora, making her laugh.
"Well, say no more. What is the most advanced scientific knowledge you have?"
"The most recent discovery is the Ponirac equation," he said. Now it turns out that these ponies had a pirated copy of famous scientists.
"Uhhh, you are still a child, and have a lot to learn," I said seriously.
"Yess... the problem is that we turn to science when magic doesn't give us an explanation," he said embarrassed. Updating him would be slow and difficult, but whoever doesn't risk, doesn't win.
"You with that magic, surely you don't know anything about life..." I murmured, "But hey, I know what to start with," I said with a smile.
"I'm all ears," he smiled, sitting down on the floor. Tempora followed shortly.
"Me too! I want to know everything about you! Everything!" Lyra screamed. I ran my hand over my face, that mare was worse than the pink pony. If she went too far, I would consider gagging her.
"I agree with Lyra," Tempora smiled warmly at me. My countenance immediately changed upon hearing her.
I cleaned up a chalk board that was somewhat stained. We thoroughly went over relativity, some quantum physics, and part of how my ship's propulsion system works. I tried to use my field theory teacher's pedagogical technique, and it was definitely worth it.
Dr. Whooves made good progress for his first day, while Tempora understood some of the problems related to space-time.
On the other hand, no matter the universe, donkeys will always exist. Lyra was snoring and moaning loudly on the floor. The noise was very unpleasant, like a wet dream.
Tempora and Whooves applauded with joy. That made me feel very happy, this was the first time that I hadn't been trampled with insults and ridicule after exposing something in public, even a fleeting tear escaped me. But despite this, I asked them to stop, I didn't want them to wake Lyra up.
"What's wrong, Roy?" Tempora said something worried.
Damn, what I didn't want was for someone to notice. Now what was I going to say to her. "N-nothing, nothing..." I replied nervously, drying my eyes. She just nodded, not quite convinced by my answer.
Then Lyra began to babble while she slept. She said every stupidity, some of them very disturbing. "Come on Roy, harder, harder, ah, ahh..."
"Hahahahahahahaha..." Whooves and Tempora laughed out loud.
I just wanted to make up an excuse to get out of there, but luckily I had one that was real. "Hey, motherfucker doctor, where's the bathroom...?" I asked him several times; nor did the insult make him react. I had to choose between going to a tree or looking for it myself; It was the worst bath I have ever seen, it was the size of a baby, even the tree would have been less worse.
.
.
Whooves stopped laughing when he saw me return. "Well, I already said everything I had to say. I look forward to another session."
"Well, I plan to show you my ship tomorrow, so get psyched, because I'm going to be very grumpy, huh..." I clarified. He squealed with excitement.
Tempora and I said goodbye to him, leaving just before Lyra woke up. "You take care of Lyra there... Until tomorrow."
"Is it night already? How long is the day here?" I yelled in surprise. I just felt like an hour had passed. That made me wonder if time in this dimension was running faster.
"24 hours," Tempora replied.
"Oh, we also have a 24 hour day. We wasted a lot of time," This planet was the lost twin of earth or something. I would go crazy here if I started an investigation into this world.
"Not precisely, we only lost 2,395,449 hours," she said.
"And what was that?" I opened my eyes surprised. Such precision was only comparable to an atomic clock.
"The time and I have been connected since the appearance of ponies in this world," she explained. Wow, was the only thing I could say. I saved myself the question about her age by remembering what the doctor told me.
"We better go or Lyra will catch up," she said amused.
"Hehe, I agree, that damn pony is an animal."
We returned to the forest, and Tempora reopened the portal. We crossed, and I could see that beautiful castle on the horizon again; at night it looked even better. Then I realized that Tempora was holding back a laugh. "What is grace?"
At that moment I felt a weight on my back. I looked back, and saw that one of those flying snakes was right behind me, which made me scream in fright.
"Hehehe, relax, it won't do anything to you..." Tempora laughed, "Hey, I think it's yours, Roy," she pointed to an object in the creature's muzzle.
"That's my laser gun," I said in surprise, putting the gun on my belt. "What creatures are those?" I asked curious. In fact, those animals looked a bit like the Feathered Serpent of indigenous Mexican myths.
"I really don't remember the name..." She said embarrassed.
That was the drop that filled the glass; she may look very young on the outside, but her magic willn't save her from Alzheimer's disease. "I know some exercises that cure even amnesia, if you want I can show you," I said mockingly.
"Coming from you, they will surely work. Now tell me, What is that object for?" She asked curiously.
"This pistol shoots a concentrated beam of light that serves to cut, heat things, and defend itself," I explained, adjusting it and shooting at the sand, causing it to crystallize.
"Artisan glass over a thousand degrees," I pointed out the still hot pieces.
She clapped her hooves. "You guys do magic in your own way..." She said, before yawn a little, "Yawn... we better go to the castle, I'm tired already."
"And how will I climb?" I gave her a questioning look.
Then Tempora levitated me with her magic. "Easy," she smiled.
"Whoa, this isn't like a jet pack," I said uncertainly. Getting up off the ground without the feeling of propulsion scared me.
"Quiet you, just enjoy it. I won't let you fall," she smiled.
"Okay, but if I die will go after you hehehe..." I said amused.
"That's the spirit, Roy!" She exclaimed with joy, spreading her wings wide.
That sudden change surprised me. Adding this to her already pretty body and her crystal eyes, made her look like an angel. "How beautiful are your wings..." I said freely. Oh no, I already screwed it up... I better prepare to receive a well-deserved slap. "Oops, sorry... I said it without, without thinking..."
"Huh? Well I... T-thanks for the compliment..." she said sheepishly, blushing and looking back, but I saw out of the corner of my eye that she was smiling. Ufff, that was close.
I looked around when we reached a certain height. From there, I was able to better see the beauty of the violet hue of the night sky. This planet easily overshadowed Earth's atmosphere.
Then I noticed that Tempora was looking at me with a malicious smile, then she turned off her magic, letting me fall.
The feeling of gravity startled me. "No no no no, Tempora! Mommyyy...!" I screamed scared, closing my eyes waiting for the sand to cushion my fall.
Tempora stopped my fall a few meters from the ground. "Hahaha, you should have seen your scared foal face..." she said mockingly.
"You're going to pay me dearly..." I gasped.
"I thought you would like it," She said with a pout.
"I would have enjoyed if I hadn't been in danger of dying... again," I said annoyed.
"Ok, I won't do that anymore, but I don't promise you anything," she said playfully. I just swallowed hard.
Minutes later we landed in front of the castle gate. I let out a pleased whistle, looking up and down the frame. That curious blue fluid caught my attention. "Hey, what is that liquid?"
"Those are the sands of time, if you look closely you can see every moment of Equestria reflected," she explained. God... Even the movies were hacked by these ponies, they knew nothing of Copyright.
"Not even the best CIA agents could perform this wonder... How can you not be traumatized by this?" I said curious, as I looked at the images projected into the liquid. She spied on hundreds of ponies simultaneously, some in somewhat disturbing scenes.
"It's been my duty since I was a filly, not that I had many options..." she said melancholic.
"Tempora, what's up? Can you tell me," I said worried.
"Nothing... We better get in..." she said sadly.
"Okay, I won't insist, you're free to tell me whenever you want," I gave her the most understanding smile I could. No matter the species, women will always be an enigma.
She softened a little when I said that.
It was the second time she did this, so beautiful was her smile, and despite her great joke, she was someone friendly. Well, maybe one day, she will have the confidence to tell me things.
Change of perspective.
I'm glad Roy was patient with me, of course I wanted to tell him all about me, but I was embarrassed. He was the first in thousands of years to be my company in this empty castle, and I didn't want to bother him with my trivial problems. Just thinking about how silly I was in the past made my stomach churn.
I opened the doors and turned on the lights with my magic. Roy was looking inside like a foal that had just received a gift, which made me smile a little. I noticed that a photo of me caught his attention. "What intimidating wings did you have before? They looked like knives."
"I've had them for as long as I can remember," I said simply.
"And what happened to them? Don't tell me you hid them after killing someone," He said curious.
"Jeje no. Those simply had no useful life," I said. That was one of the reasons, therefore I didn't lie to him.
"Yeah right..." Roy nodded unconvinced, he was anything but silly. I checked that in the class he gave, something I admired about him.
Then I started to feel very tired and yawned repeatedly. Roy noticed this immediately, and asked me to continue tomorrow.
"Come, let me take you to... to a room," I said between yawns. I had already cleaned a place for him. I hope he feels comfortable.
He was very happy with the room, he assured that he had never slept in such a luxurious bed. Then he gave me a hug, which I gladly reciprocated; hadn't felt one since my first encounter with the elements of harmony. "Seriously thanks, good night," he said, pulling away from me.
"Good night, if you need anything, my room is on the right," I said releasing the hug.
This day was, I don't know... very complicated but very good. He came out of the hospital well, gave us an unforgettable class, and although I understood almost nothing, it was interesting.
I wanted him to enjoy the first day with me, and I made a little joke that didn't go very well. I should have thought of his fear. If I had an accident like that, I would've hated the game as well.
That compliment he gave me a while ago really paralyzed me with surprise. He also blushed at what said. I haven't been able to understand his motive, but really liked that he told me, because it gave me a new feeling, only comparable to friendship. I'll ask Twilight about this, maybe she knows what I felt and still feel. Anyway, I'm going to sleep, maybe tomorrow will be a good day.
