Cadence stared at the video in shock.

She watched in confusion as Regal and his friends carried the unconscious figure of the girl in the video.

That... That wasn’t her...

“Look at her...”

What do we do?”

“Look I don’t think we should do anything...”

“Get out of here you pussy! Cadence is one of the hottest girls in school there’s no way I wouldn’t want a piece of that!”

Cadence’s hand flew to her mouth as she watched these boys undress her self.

But then the oddest thing happened and she watched as the skin of her doppelganger rippled. Cotton candy inspired looks melted until her sister’s true form emerged causing her eyes to bulge.

‘Stop it!’ Chrysalis’ voice slurred as she weakly tried to fend away rough hands snatching at her flesh.

Cadence continued to watch in horror as those boys humiliated and violated her sister. Tears of despair rolled down her face as her heart shattered inside her chest.

“Chryssie,” she choked as her anguish robbed her of sound. She clamped both of her hands over her mouth, as she replayed her own despicable deeds.

The things she said to her.

“You’re a monster! And you’re not my sister...”

“I hate you... You ruin everything!”

“That’s rich coming from you, bug...”

The video played on.

Laughter and whimpers sounded distortedly.

Regal had drugged and raped her sister.

If Chrysalis’ changeling abilities had not have manifested…

She watched as the room door opened. Regal had turned to see her self startled and betrayed.

“Chryssie! Why?” She’d run out screaming that night cursing her sister when Regal had been the true monster.

Regal looked back to the struggling teen as she had reached out and called desperately for her sister. “Cadie wait! Cadence, come back! Please come back!”

The sight of him standing there with a smile on his face after everything he had done made her vision blur as her hands tightened around the steering wheel.

Regal had hurt her sister.

He stole her choice and laughed about it as his friends each took turns doing terrible things.

Cadence’s breath came in pants as the horrible realization settled more firmly in her mind.

Chryssie had been calling out for her... Not because she was guilty or embarrassed, but because she was scared and hurt.

And Cadence...

Cadence had fled thinking the worst.

She’d called her own flesh and blood a bug, a slut and worse.

She’d labeled her a monster... But all the while the real monster was alive and well.

The real monster was standing in front of her smug and unscathed.

Cadence felt hot as the world around her began to swirl and her heart raced.

And to think... he pretended to be her friend... pretended to care and apologize for her ‘misunderstanding.’

Her thoughts flashed to the angry and sad teen that had settled in the place of the confident girl she’d grown up with.

Regal was responsible for that.

The prima donna felt faint as a wave of turmoil took over.

“Cadie wait! Cadence...” She had called for her and they had laughed.

Laughed.

“Come back! Please come back-“

The hard jolting of her parents’ car pulled Cadence out of her nightmarish revere. The screeching of tires and the burnt smell of rubber lingered as she slowly became aware. Everything was entirely too bright, and a dull headache pulsed behind her eyes. The sound of her heart and breath which boomed in the moment, slowly receded.

Glassy eyes began to focus on an odd heap in the road before her.

There was a boy sprawled across the pavement, still as death. A puddle of blood beginning to pool beneath his head.

She was unmoved by the sight.

With tears streaming down her face, Cadenza Mi Amore didn’t have the capacity to feel anything. Instead, she put the car in reverse, executed a three-point turn the way her Dad had shown her and calmly drove the other way.

As her thoughts looped the video of her barely conscious sister, she didn’t even bother to look in the mirror.
